The Giddy Bridge is part of the Wetherspoons chain located in a area mainly frequented with Students in the evenings and Office workers at lunchtimes and these are the people that you will find in the Giddy Bridge at all times. It servers the same as all other Wetherspoons public houses and at the same good value. ----- Drinks ----- The Giddy Bridge sells the usual vast array of drinks at the normal wetherspoons prices and there are often deals and festivals on giving you yet more choice. I have rarely had a horrible pint and if I ever have they are fine about replacing it with a new one. ----- Food ------ The food in the Giddy Bridge in my experiences slightly above par for Wetherspoons, plates are always clean, the food is always hot and the staff cope well with adjusting meals to suit your tastes. There is a good range of food available in the standard menu as well as the weekly events such as Grill night, Curry Club, etc. There are also seasonal additions for various events celebrated around the country. ----- Atmosphere ----- There is normally a good atmosphere in here and depending on the time of year it can be either really busy taking upto 30 min to get a drink while competing with 100's of students who have just got their loans or quiet and you can sit down with your friends and chat peacefully. With an outside seating area as well it can make a nice place to just sit outside in the summer with views of a park and a busy street it is great for people watching. ----- Building ----- The building is your typical wetherspoons quite dark and dingy, the carpets are dirty, the fixtures are worn and broken. There is a roof terrace and a fenced off area if you wish to sit outside. The toilets are not particually nice and often smell quite bad but this is popular with most of the bars around this end of Southampton. ----- Conclusion ----- The Giddy Bridge is a good place to go if you are after a cheap meal and drink in Southampton and you are not on the highstreet or in West Quay. It is a good launching place to meet people before exploring the delights of London Road and Bedford Place. There is always people in there so you will never feel awkward and be bothered frequently by the staff. The food is always satisfactory and the beer is normally cold and fresh. Overall I like this place and you will often find me in there with my friends before a big night out.
I have been using thi laptop from a couple of years now, although it is starting to show its age I have had very few problems. Although it is only a laptop I would suggest for the average user browsing the internet and using office products it is capable of more, as I have been using some quite demending things on it like Visual Studio and Photoshop. This laptop looks good with its silver and black colours and it is comfortable to as use the keyboard is large enough even for someone with larger fingers and the screen is clear and has a good contrast making it easy to use for many hours in a row. ----- Features ------ -- Processor This Laptop is fitted with a Intel® CoreTM2 Duo Processor which is a powerful processor and can run day to day tasks with ease the the dual processors mean multi-tasking and intensive programs are possible. -- Graphics card The NVIDIA® Quadro NVS 135M Graphics Card is good allowing for a large second monitor which can be used if the 15Inch display is a bit too small, provides nice crisp images and the main laptop screen can be expanded to a respectable 1440 x 900 resolution, the intergrated graphics card is according to official specs capable of 1280 x 800 which is also enough for most users. -- Hard Drive As with most Dell laptops you can get a variety of laptops mine contains a 60Gb Sata hard drive which is quiet according to some stats this would be able to store 15,000 mp3s, 150 movies, 30 games. Although windows takes its chunk of this. I have never had too much issue with the reading writing speed apart from when I am overloading the system anyway. -- Memory My system has 3Gb of 667MHz DDR2 Memory which is enough to power the system and all my programs the DDR2 memory chip is still good and the 667MHz bus is fast enough. -- Connectivity This laptop comes with many different connections, this includes Wireless, Lan, and a 56k Modem which makes it a well connected machine. There is also a slot for a mobile simcard in it which I have not yet explored as to its features. There are 4 USB ports which and the standard audio output and inputs. -- Extras With a range of Operating Systems, CD/DVD Drives, Hard Drives, Grapics Cards, Memory, batteries and Optional Security like finger print scanner, this laptop is many things to many people. ----- Overview ------ I am very happy with the machine and would recommend it to any day to day user and office professionals. It is not a gaming or software development machines although it will cope it is not quite up to that standard. It is robust, has enough power to run most things and the options mean this laptop can range from a basic to a good machine. The screen is good and the graphics card is suitable.
I have owned my Renault Clio Dynamique for 3 years and I love this car, it feels so comfortable inside and has everything I need, CD player, electric windows & mirrors, comfortable seats and enough room in the back if I am giving people a lift. The fuel economy is up there with the best of them. If I drive in the inside lane of a motorway with the lorries doing between 55 and 60 I can average over 75mpg, normal driving I average around 55mpg, which is brilliant when you work 30 miles away. At the time of writing this the Road Tax on this car is £30 per year and has an insurance group of 5 which makes this very cheap to run. As well as the excellent fuel economy, low tax and insurance the Renault Clio Dynamique 1.5dci is also nippy when it needs to be with the 86bhp engine helping you to overtake and get up to speed when joining a road, it handles well with the standard additions of stability controllers and power steering. It also has a surprisingly large boot space for a 3 door hatchback. The last point I will make is that this car looks great from the outside as well, the dynamique has a front end that looks stout and mean which makes the car appear to be quite powerful and not like a small hatchback which are often pushed around the road by larger cars. The rear and side aspects are also nice with chrome detailing and attractive light clusters this is a overall a great car.
