I personally placed an order via this company after being recommended it via a work coleague.
It was becoming more and more important to me to have a fashionable pair of specs, that wouldnt break the bank. especially in my line of work where the likelihood of them being knocked off my face on a friday or saturday night is extremely high.
so, i made my selection, which did seem to take for ever considering the amount of frames they have on offer, which was a blue and black pastic frame, with single vision lenses and grey reacter lenses, all for a grand total of £57 with free p&p.
I telephoned the company before confirming my order, and i was glad to hear that i could purchase the frames with plain glass to try before i buy, then return to them at my own cost with the added details of my prescription and reacters.
I was informed that if i didnt like my first choice of frames, i could again return and make another selection.
All the glasses on the website have the required frame measurements, along with additional colour options, with a price range for all.
They even have branded makes such as prada and YSL
the whole process for me was effortless, with delivery arriving within a few days, and I will certainly be using again in the near future.
i can only speak for my own experience, but i honestly have had not problem with either the ordering system or the glasses, as they're still going strong, with comments often made "ooo, where did you get them from?"
This has got to be the hardest thing ive ever tried/attempted and failed.
Ive been smoking since i was 15, and now smoking a good 20 a day, which is really not good. plus on a night out this can increase to 30, even if i am standing outside in the freezing cold and rain.
so, after being nagged enough in work, im finally got round to thinking seriously about giving up for good now, especially after talking to a lad in work whosmaoked 40 a day for last god knows how many years.
He told me about a clinic in manchester called NEW WAYS CLINIC (details can be found on a goggle search)
it costs £195, where you sit in a chair for 30 minutes, with electrobes or something along those lines attached to you, which clear the nicotine addiction signals from your brain.
this process i was told was completely painless, and he just sat there reading a book.
he walks out 40 minutes later and has not craved a cigarette since! AMAZING.
therefore im booked to go next month, and looking forward to being a nn smoker
this decision is based more for the financial aspect for me, because at £5 per packet, per day, it soon mounts up to a small foutune put up in smoke.
i just hope the new ways clinic works on my 20 a day like it has on my friends 40 a day habit
Since this TV series hit the screen, I was hooked, and have loved all the past series and story lines - up until now that is.
For me, both the doctors are a little bit of eye candy, who seem to get better as they age, but what has happend with the new series that hit sky last week?
I hit the sky plus button with anticipation, and couldnt wait to curl up in front of the fire and settle down to watch with a hot cuppa.
OMG, I wish i didnt bother, as what I found was just a load of crap!
This new series I found there was no story line what so ever which was extremely disapointing.
The caracters personality have changed for the worse, and it all seems to be about more money and more sex, followed by more money issues and a bit more sex - wheres the twist to keep you wanting more?
im my opinion it was lost bewteen the bed sheets somewhere with nothing else memorable about the new series so far
i will be watching the next episode, just in case it gets better and a story line appears out of the blue, and if not, it will be bye bye Dr Troy
I had this lense as part of a kit when i purchased the canon EOS450d.
I have found this lense is one I use alot, and love the fact I can zoom in close with little effort, which is especially good when photographing people in natural settings which are non posed.
The lense itself is not the quickest to focus, and I have found that I have had to knock the EV up by 1 or 1.5 stops in overcast conditions, but apart from that I've had some very pleasing results.
The noise level is OK, not what i would call silent, and when used to photograph wildlife, it allows you to have some distance and still get the picture full the frame.
so, i would recommend this lense for the above uses, as the price range is in the above average budget range, and being a good all round lenses.
you just need to take the time and effort to find out the exposure levels when using this lense to get the tack shape and correctly exposed images. As I have found a great difference between this and my canon lenses
recommended to all
Being into photography in a big way, and only 2yrs ago took the expensive plunge to change over fully to the world of digital, the Canon EF100mm F2.8 was a must have for me.
i managed to purchase this before the price went up, paying £379 inclusive of P&P, a bargain
Since adding this to my collection of lenses, I have to say this is rarely off my camera, and a firm favourite of mine.
Its gets me fantastic results on portraite as wells as the macro, which are my two main subjuect hobbies
I have found the a tripod is a must when using this lenses as a macro to get the tack sharpe images, otherwise the result are very poor in deed. it just means a little more time setting up or walking round prepared to the max with the camera tripod to the ready
The lense is quick to focus, quiet, and in my opinion a quality piece of glass, which is a must when attempting to photgraph insects in the garden
to be honest, once you've tried this lense, you'll be hooked, with no insect or garden beasty being safe without having the camera shoved in its direction.
the results you will find, if you take time to get used to the feel of it, will be well worth the money, and you'll find that the macro will fill the frame to a good standard.
having the dreaded T ZONE on my face, i am prone to a few black heads on my chin and nose. HORRID and YUK
I found this item in the local chemist, and purchased for what i thought was a bargain price of £3.99
so, once home I got a hot flannel to put on my face to help open the pores and set about work on the dreaded backheads on my chin.
yes i found this item good, as there was no cross contamination from you fingers etc, and you could sterilise before and after use, but:
I found using this tool more painful than the regular way of ridding such as looking in the mirror and squeeze. I also found that i had to push down quite hard to get the black head out, which left me with a deep round red mark which felt bruised.
once completed, I of course cleaned my skin again and ensured i put some antiseptic type cream on the area treated.
I found that the brusied feeling and the red marked disapeared by the following morning, but it left me feeling reluctant to use again, purely because i found it painful
i would say this is a good product purely from a hygenic point of view, and would recommend it if you do suffer alot with spots etc, other wise I would say no
please dont bother with this one girls and guys
i purchased these a few years back after reading about them in a magazine. i truely thought this was a great idea, and would give me the eye brow shape i wanted without having to trek over the the salon once every 6wks.
the kit comes with a variety of eyebrow shapes for you to make a choice of which one you want.
you stick the stencil over your own eyebrows and use the pencil that comes with the kit to gently colour the shape in.
once coloured in, you peel the sticker off, and you should be able to see which of your own eyebrow needs plucking away to get the required shape.
now being blonde, i thought this would be a breeze. WRONG!
everyones eyebrows differ greatly in size, shape even the length. so sticking the stencils over my own eyebrows i found that mine were too short and too narrow!?!. rendering this kit useless, unless i wanted wonkey eyebrows that is as i could have manouvered the stencil to make them fit
so, unless you have massive eyebrows that need a hedge trimmer rather than a pair of tweezers, please dont bother and save your money, and if you do want a total re-shape, visit a professional
QVC is a TV shopping chanel, which can be found on sky 640 in the uk.
This company sells absolutely everything, from flowers for the garden, to hair and make up items.
theres is something for everyone of all ages and backgrounds
QVC is on 24/7, with the live TV presentations finishing at 1am, before going onto recordings. but you can still purchase from them what ever the time of the night or day.
The ordering system is quick and simple. all you need is a QVC membership number, which will have to be obtained with a first purchase from customer services by telephoning 0800504030.
Once you have the membership number, you are free to order in any way you prefer, it could be by telephoning and pressing the relevant buttons on your phone when prompted (quick order 0800524232) or via the internet www.qvcuk.com, without speaking to anyone in person.
its so simple even my dad can do it
the products QVC sell are in my opinion different, and often items not found on the high street. they are often of good quality with the prices extremely reasonable. QVC do sometimes offer interest free payments, often offered over a maximum of 4 months, but this is not on everything
Unlike any other TV shopping chanel or mail order company, a 30 day money back gaurentee is given on ALL the products. This covers everything from a faulty item to a "i just dont like it". Yes this is even given on a bottle of shampoo and youve used it for 2wks and found it just doesnt suit your hair. now thats a good service!
the customer service is second to none, and in my personal experience I have found them polite, quick acting, and a pure pleasure to deal with. hence i shop with them on a regular basis time after time
you really cant go wrong with this company, because if you dont like the item, you simply just send it back and a refund is sent direct to your card of payment.
highly recommended to all
I was on PAYGO for years, and was now topping up by £35 average per month, so it was high time I considered changing to a contract.
I telephoned orange, and got the pink F480 on contract for £29.50pm, with the phone free and 600 minutes, unlimited texts, and unlimited internet thown in, whoohoo, and I was able to keep my own PAYGO number, bonus!.
It arrived the next day and i set about putting it to the test
considering this was my first touch screen, i have to say it took a bit of getting used to. but, after just a few days i was loving it.
with my old phone being a samsung, i found the setting were the same, so maybe this was a little easier for me to work out how to use it - it was just a matter of the touch screen to battle with
i have found that the screen can be sensitive, and i have cut people off when my cheek has touched something on the screen, which i find really annoying, along with the fact it freezes on me from time to time.
other than that, i've had not problem.
the internet is slow to connect, but as im not using that feature for long i just put up with it
the camera and video i havent really used, and when i have, i havent rated the feature. i have found the camera very slow to focus and when i have used the video, ive managed not to save it automatically and lost everything which is not good. maybe this is me rather than the phone itself
the size and weight of the phone is good, not too bulky for the pocket or handbag, rendering the screen good for those who have bulky fingers or have poor eyesight
considering i've had this phone for nearly 18month, the battery life is still fantastic, with the charge lasting me a good 3 days.
this phone, as have all my other samsungs, been absolutely wonderful.
therefore i would recommend it to anyone wanting a basic type phone, which is modern and stylish
Im a fan of the syrian hamster, and have a 2yr old male one named pickle
I purchased mine from a breader, which i was recommeded to do for the follwoing reasons
(1) breaders would have handled the baby hamster, aiding in the battle to tame it
(2) less chance of the hamster being in bread
(3) more likely to be healthy
(4) less likely to purchase a pregnant female
(5) expert in sexing the babies, so you get what you want
hence i would say to anyone to do the same for the above reasons, unless you have a fantastic pet shop that know what they are doing and not in it for the £
I have found that this would not be a pet for a young child, as they have a short lifespan, and nocturnal. A child would be in bed as the hamster ready to come out and play, and obviously the child would be devistated on its death so soon after getting it and loving it
you can train a hamster to be awake at a reasonable hour before a child goes to bed, but some, like mine refuse to listen to reason
i have also personally found that with time and patience (30 minutes each night) my hamster learned to trust me 100% very quickly, and has never bitten anyone, even strangers
they do love to come out of their cages and play, mine loves to chase the dog for some reason (very brave hamster in deed) and it is recommended that they have at least 30 minutes out of cage excercise per night. which could be in form of a exercise ball or in a play pen.
in a nutshell, hamsters are cute and loveable pets, who are non expensive to keep and take very little space. with just a little time and patience required each night (if your still awake)
Being a hamster owners, I purchased this cage when my syrian hamster was only 6wks old to make his very own
this cage was wonderful when pickle was a fraction of his adult size, and just a baby explouring in his new home.
unfortunately, he very quickly out grew it
I know you can add to the cage, with expensive add ons such as look out points and rooms. But you would need a very large space to house something a suitable size for an adult syrian hamster.
Yes this would be fantastic for the dwarf types who need far less space
what i also found was the rooms of this cage left very little space for toys - which every pets needs to entertain him or herself
it was easy to clean, and put back together again which was a bonus and parts easy to purchase if broken or chewed
but, if you have or thinking of purchasing a syrain hamster, please look at something larger, such as the imac range, as this cage wouldnt last the hamsters lifetime purely due to size
I saw this in my local pet store whilst stocking up on the treats.
My hamster being the fussy male that he is, is often not into most of the new found treats that hit the shelves. but, not giving in, i bought him a pack, for a very reasonable £1.35.
That night after cleaning his cage, i hid one of the donuts in his play pen and watched.
eventually pickle smiffs it out, and looks at it in wonder before taking a little tasting nibble.
he loved it
followed by 30 minutes of utter amusement as he attmepted to get the whole donut in his mouth in one go, before giving up and just dragging it to his store in stead
this is now a treat i purchase on a regular basis for pickle, as he not only loves them, but they are packed with healthy vitamins for him, making it a healthy snack and treat, rather than a very unhealthy chocolate drop.
so for any hamster owners out there: give this one a try, mine loved it
Laura Ashley (LA) is a mid Wales based company, who for some resemble flowery wall papers and dresses. But as times change, and so has Laura Ashley
LA today, not only offer furniture for sale, but home furnishing, wall paper, clothing and jewellery both by mail order, internet, and a in door store service.
The furniture range as well as the home furnishings are vast, with the mail order clothing being sparse unless you visit a local store (of which there are many across the country, including franchise abroad).
I have found that on all furniture, there is an extremely long waiting time for delivery, which can be annoying when your left waiting. But with only 25% of the final total having to be paid on ordering, the remainder is automatically taken a minimum of 10days prior to delivery, which helps and eases the pain of the long wait.
Please note that this may differ if ordering via the internet, so I would recommend anyone wishing to order expensive items of furniture to either visit the store, or telephone the mail order line during office hours and order directly
The wall paper, fabric and home furnishings are again offered for sale by all methods, and quite often all in stock, ready for delivery within 14days. Expensive items, but wonderful, fashionable, and truely make your home a home.
LA do offer a made to order service for a vast range of curtain styles, including blinds. This i have found expensive, especially when you look at the price of the fabric per meter. So i would recommend checking out if a local seamstress could make the curtains for you at a fraction of the overall cost, with the same going for roman type blinds
in a nutshell, LA work hard, and sell some wonderful items, with a good level of customer service all round.
you may also note that alot of LA items appear on TV, in adverts and in many of the soaps - which speaks for itself for quality and its up to date fashion for all walks of life
I would recommend anyone to give them a go, just dont expect speedy delivery
Having poker straight hair, and wanting a new look just now and again, I took the plunge and purchased these in a sale for £18.
My decision was based on how easy it seemed to make those suttle waves, along with being quick when your running out of time.
It appeared that you could use them what ever length of hair you had (mine being shoulder length), and the curl was variant from loose and at the ends only, to a crown to tip wave.
In my mind this was the ideal styler, ticking all the boxes. How wrong was I!
On rushing home, I set about putting it to the test.
I read the instructions, and even checked the demo video on the website, but i would not get it right no matter how hard i tried.
I might left handed, but that shouldnt make a difference, but even following the instructions to the letter, I was left with something that in no way shape or form resembled a curl?
On brushing once the hair was cold, my hair became fuzzy, and in all honesty looked a mess.
I even had the girls round who also gave it a go, trying it out on each other, all of whom got the same result as me.
hence i have found this product a waste of money, time and effort.
unfortunately, as it was used, i couldnt return, so its now sat in a box in the junk cupboard.
so girls, if you are looking for a quick fix to get the curls, there isnt one - stick to the straighteners or curling tongs - they do a far better job
A few years ago I had a nasty bout of excema on my face when seemed to appear overnight, and looked like somene had got a grater to the whole side of my left face.
Being female, i was devistated, and of course attempted to cover the horrid redness and lumps with foundadtion
I cant say it knocked my confidence at all, but i was extremely self concious about the way i looked, especially as i was free and singkle at the time.
so, after several trips back and forth to the doctors, with nothing prescribed working, i took a trip to my local health shop to try and alternative remedy
god i was glad i did - the lady behind the counter advised me to try this, which also came in an oitment form, so i purchased both
once home, i covered the area in quite a thick covering and let it sink into my skin to do its stuff.
the following morning, i woke up and rushed to the mirror, as i always did, to check how red it was looking
to my suprise, the redness was looking loads better, and that was just after one use! i couldnt wait to apply it again
so, in a nut shell, after two weeks my face was clear of all excema! all down to nelsons calendula cream and oitments.
i found that the cream was suitable for day time use, using the oitment version at night as it was greasy on the skin
i now swear by this little tube, and use nothing else when my excema flares up and would highyly recommend it to anyone with the conditions.
i know it wont work for everyone, but it did for me and a close friend. so for a small price of £4.95, with no steroids, its worth a go
