I stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago and would really recommend it. We paid £68 for one night including breakfast and overnight parking booked through late rooms. The usual rate for booking through their website is £83 a night for a standard double.
It is a 4 star hotel located on Woolaton Street about 30 seconds walk to the town centre! There are plenty of trams and buses around to take you anywhere you fancy. It's about a 10 minute walk from Nottingham rail station. Local attractions include Sherwood Forrest, Nottingham Castle and The Robin Hood Story
On arrival, I was greeted by a very nice receptionist who told me where everything was in the hotel.
The main area is lovely, it has an avenue style walkway with a glass roof lined with palm trees. The restaurants and bars are located off here. There are plenty of meeting rooms and the hotel is licensed for weddings.
Our room was really nice, although could have been a big bigger. We booked through laterooms so we probably got the 'small double'. On a later stay we were given a much bigger room. Furniture was good quality, all matching with no mdf in sight! Plasma tv had a very good picture. Plenty of tea, coffee etc. Also 2 complementary bottles of mineral water. Mini bar was overpriced but nothing new there, and was big enough to put some of our own snacks in.
Bathroom was lovely, with a powerful shower that didn't change temperature halfway through! Bathrobes laid out on bed when we arrived, but were a bit thick to wear in the heatwave we were having. Top quality toiletries including seaweed soap which I took home!
Air conditioning was easy to work, which was good as our windows didn't open.
Really enjoyed the health club. the pool was very clean with sauna, steam room and a jacuzzi, staff were very friendly. The lockers in the changing rooms take £1 which is refundable.
We didn't try the restaurant in the evening, but did have fantastic breakfast - Plenty of hot food choice that didnt run out, with piles of fresh fruit, pastries, yoghurt etc. Numerous places to eat out nearby.
Parking is £9 for overnight parking although you can leave your car there for the rest of the day after you check out in case you have more sightseeing to do. Ours was included in the price but most rates exclude parking which you pay for on checking out.
This hotel is currently undergoing a massive refurbishment which is almost complete, although you wouldn't know it when you stay as there is no noise or inconvenience to guests.
Overall I would definitately recommend this hotel as it's excellent value for money.
I bought this for my daughter for her birthday. She is only 11, so didn't want anything fantastic - just enough for her friends to recognise her!
When it arrived I was surprised how easy it was to install. The reviews on Amazon where I got it, mentioned problems downloading drivers online, but mine came with a disc and loaded fine.
It has sturdy rubber base that hooks over the edge of your monitor, so there is no danger of disappearing mid chat. It has a large focus wheel that turns easily.
The image is very good quality - sharp, with good colours and a resolution of 640 x 480. Get up to 30 frames a second with the recommended systems requirements. The quickcam lets you get closer to your friends with not only video, but also audio via a built in microphone making your instant messages come to life. It can be used with all major chat sites - Yahoo, MSN etc. You can also hold meetings with Windows Messenger or Microsoft NetMeeting. There is a button on the top to take a still photo. You get about 4 seconds to pose so no need to have all your shots with one arm up in the air!

The lateral thigh trainer is a must for anyone who wants to see results fast. I bought mine from ebay last year for about £80, but a lot of websites are now selling this product for around £30. This item is heavily advertised on satellite tv and is a big seller.
With your thigh trainer you get an instructional dvd, which features a woman in her 40s at least, with the body of a 20 year old! Very easy to follow, with different workouts for varying abilties.
The machine is well made with large anti slip pedals that move bi directional. This means that instead of just stepping up and down, your legs move in and out in a skating motion. This tones the inside of your thighs as well as the outsides. If you move your arms too as directed, it has a fantastic effect on the abs. There are optional power cords that attach to your machine which help tone your arms, chest and shoulders.
This is much more fun than a regular stepping machine, as it fells like you are dancing or skating. The makers claim you will see results after using it 10 times, but I saw an improvement in my thighs and bottom after just one week.
I have been using ancestry.co.uk for a number of years now. I originally started with a free trial, then stayed as a paying member as they were slowly introducing =UK census returns. These are now complete for the years 1841-1901.
The databases are fully indexed and you do not need to know everything about your ancestors to find the correct entry. They also do a 'soundex' search, which means that if your ancestors sometimes varied the spelling of their name, or a transcriber inputted it incorrectly, there is a good chance your entry will be found quickly. They also have birth marriage and death entries for 1984 - 2004. These are particularly useful if you are just starting out in tracing your family tree, as the death entries give the birth date too. If for example the oldest relative you knew of was a grandfather who died 10 years ago, you could quickly look him up and his date of birth would be there
I do not use a lot of the databases, as most of the information is not relevant to me. I use it mostly for the census returns. The price is currently about £70 for a years membership. I think this is quite a reasonable amount, because if you wanted to look up census returns for different parts of the country, it would cost you far more in travel expenses. Not to mention that they are not indexed by name in record offices.
I bought this after it was came top in a magazine poll - there are so many to chose from that I needed some help!
When I first applied it, it smelt quite nice, and went on easily. I was aware it had self tanning lotion in it, so I knew not to just slap it on! After about half an hour it still hadn't absorbed properly and was starting to give off the familiar 'fake tan' smell. During the day the smell got stronger and I felt very sticky and uncomfortable. To be fair, the tan did develop slowly over the next week to a nice light brown colour with no streaks.
I probably would use this product again, but only on areas that are not covered by clothing as they tend not to dry very well.
This is my first posting on this website, but I am so impressed with this product I felt I had to write something!
I saw this advertised on tv. Although I am wary of any product claiming to get rid of stretch marks, I thought I'd give it a go.
I have long stopped getting undressed with the lights on due to the very noticeable stretch marks on my stomach, but lately due to weight loss, I was left with some on my hips which felt just as horrible as they looked!
I have been using bio oil for about 5 days now. I use about 6 or 7 drops and this goes a long way completely covering my stomach and hips. It is not greasy, and leaves a light film which does not transfer on clothes, and is absorbed completely after about 30 minutes. My stomach is already starting to feel smoother. After losing a stone in weight it was looking a bit wrinkly, and bio oil has made a difference to that too.
I am one of those people who try a new product and get fed up after a week, but I will be definitely sticking with this one.
I have not given this product 5 stars as I've not been using it that long. I will be posting another review in a month's time to give an update :)
