I have Lived in Greenwich for a Number for years and fell that the Council is among the best in London for Parks and open spaces, Recycling etc. Greenwich is the most open space borough with 32 parks and open spaces across the whole of Greenwich.
parks and Open spaces
In Greenwich there are over 30 parks. three of them are the last woodlands in London and they are called Oxleas woods, castle woods and Eltham park North. They also have a park called Sutcliffe park which is in Eltham and has won many awards for being turned from football fields to a large Nature Reserve with the river quaggy being open up. They Don't really take car of there parks as they are no park wardens looking after them. all the park wardens do is open and locked up the parks.
Recycling and waste collection.
the recycling in Greenwich is very good and is leading the way to try to reuse all recyclable marital. In Greenwich we have three bins
One is for Food which is collect weekly. The food is composted down.
one is for recycling which is collected weekly. The Items are sorted at the depot and are sent for recycling.
One is for other waste which is collected front nightly. This waste goes to landfills
Greenwich aims to have everyone recycling all there waste and have a target of 70% of everything recycled by the end of the year. Now Other councils are coping Greenwich Council which is a good way as Greenwich are leading the way for recycling and doing there best to protect the environment
Greenwich environment days
Six times a year Greenwich hold events which are mainly on the environment and they give out stuff like Low energy Light bulbs, Energy saving stuff, water saving Stuff as well as pens and pencils which are recycled from old vending machine cups and cd cases. They also give out Free Notepads, sticky notes which are from recycled paper as well as a large amount of stuff to show that things made from recycled martial can do the same job as things not made from recycled martial.
Disused buildings in Greenwich
There are a number of disused buildings in Greenwich many being listed and rotting away as the council don't know what to do. one example of a building rotting away is a Grade two Listed Cinema which is now in the Buildings at risk register. There is also a castle which is a grade two listed building on top of castle woods which is rotting away and is on the buildings at list register.
so in greenwich listed Buildings when they get disused are not cared for and are sold on to privite sellers which spend years getting planning permission. so if your in greenwich and see an disused building and it looks listed. don't expect to see it turn it its former golry.
Greenwich and the Ferrier
the ferrier is an esate which is due to be demoished and all rebuild. the Council have been moving people off for years and the work was ment to start in 2000. But this date has been set back and back and the Ferrier is still standing awaiting to be demoished. the ferrier was in Channel 4s progamme Demoiantion with Jannet Street porter.
Overall Greenwich is a great place to live and there services are Excellent. the only thing they need to improve on are finding a use for disused buildings mainly Listed Buildings, keep there pojects on time without delay and try to have park wardens in most of the parks which have high levels of problems.
Greenwich i have to say are doing there bit for the environment and with high recycling rates they are the best in london. They also try to help people by giving out free Energy saving bulbs which will cut CO2 a lot. If every home in greenwich had the free bulbs we save a lot of CO2.
YouGov is a survey website which i have been a memeber of for around four weeks and have earned around £7.00 by doing surveys which focus on the Goverment in many cases.
Many of the surveys i have taken have been on the Goverment and Mayor of london. they ask questions which ask you if they are doing a good job and who you voted for and which polices you support. each survey is around five to ten minutes long.
The payouts are fair you can earn between 50p - £1.25 a survey. which is paid in to your account after you completed the survey. to get an cash payout you must have £50 in your account which will take some time to get vbut afterall it Free Money for doing surveys in which the goverement look at.
The good points are the payouts and surveys. with the surveys you find of giving your point across that you fell satisfied with the goverment and answer questions which you agree or disagree on such as do you agree with this policy?
The bad points are that you have to have £50.00 before you can get your money as on average yougov do 2 surveys a week it may take up to 50 weeks just to get an payout. i think they should make it £25 payout so that it can be quicker to get your earned money.
it is a great site to give your opions about the way the goverment works and what could they improve on and what new stuff they could bring new which will benerfit people.
I have been with one poll for around 5 weeks now and have earned around £18.00 for doing surveys which last for a few minutes. compared to the other survey websites like caio one poll has a faster payout rate and the money is credited to you account after you do the survey. no need to wait ten weeks like other websites.
You get paid quite good amounts of money for doing a survey. surveys can be one question to something like thirty questions but you earn 5p - 50p a survey. the great thing about this website is that
1) the surveys are short
2) the pay is fair
3) you get the money credited after you do the survey
4) No need to wait ages for an payment. useully within 5 days via cheque.
Comapred to other sites
Compared to other sites this site is much more better because with some survey websites you can be waiting weeks just for 10P and on other sites the surveys can take ages to do.
so this survey site is a lot more fairer compared to the other sites around.
when you sign up you get an welcoming bonus of around £2.50 + £1.00 when you recommand five friends.
you can do surveys which will enter you in prize draws which you can win up to £250.00 an survey. i have not done any of theses yet.
This is the best site for surveys that i have seen and iam part of serval survey websites. what make this one so special that the payouts and surveys are a lot more better such as 15P for a 3 minute survey compared to ciao which is 10P for an 25 Minute survey. whatelse that makes this site so special is that you get paid stright after you done the survey and don't ahve to wait ages for it come into your account
The tesco Clubcard is a Loyality Scheme run By Tesco. They Offer you 1 Point for Every pound which is like 1% Cashback. You can get up to 4% Back Via Clubcard deals so if you have 600 Points. You could use the points for £6 off your shopping or £24 in clubcard deals.
a Great way to earn Extra Points ways to earn points such as
Reusing a Carrier Bag - 1 Extra Point
Bag of Life (one off 10P) - 3 Extra Points
Fairtrade bag (one off £1.00) 6 Extra Points
So a good way to get more points is to buy a bag of life for 10P and when you reuse it four times you have earned like 12P back or 48P in deals. so it is worth paying an one off 10p for a bag.
The only bad points are that tesco Mointor what you buy and see what your buying. also anouther bad point is that if you spent £13.99 you only get 13 points. i think if the total comes over £13.51 they should give you an extra point. as the amount of points i have lost because my sub total has always been between .89 - .99.
With Clubcard deals you can use it on hundards of products such as magazines, Hoiladays, Days out etc. the vaule is always 4X the standard tesco voucher which you get so if you get a voucher for £50 it be worth around £200 in deals which could get you loads of days out and even pay for a hoiladay. so thats a very good bonus compared to the other loyaity cards.
Improvments to the card?
Yes i think the card could do with one improvement and that is the points and the vaule of your shopping. so if you spend £9.99 you get 9.9 Points so that you will gain more points which are lost in mostcases.
9.99 9.9 Points
1.25 1.2 points
2.90 2.9 points
so that means you get 14 points instead of 12 points as thats how much you have spent around £14 so that means you won't lose points again
It a Great way to earn a little back from your shop and a good way of keeping track of how much you spent in tesco so if you have 2000 points that means you have spent around £2000 in Tescos. Other than that it is a very good loyailty card and has made me shop more at tesco then before.
we have been with Pipex for around two years and we have had a great service with download speeds of around 7.5MB and upload speeds of around 0.4MB. Althrough The internet we are using is Provided by Tiscali Wholeale but we still pay pipex for the internet. we used to pay them £29.99 and this was for Line Rental, Anytime Calls and 8MB Unlimited Broadband. Untill now we managed to get the price down to £19.99 to match Ticalis Price as well Pipex are now a Tiscali Company so we rang them up and they gave us three months Free and £19.99 for the same Service! with the three months Free that works out £14.99 on average for Unlimited Broadband, anytime calls and line rental.
We currently get on average a download speed of 7.5MB and an upload speed of 0.4MB. we have had no problems with the internet what so ever. the internet has not gone down once or we had any issues with speed capping or speed throttleing.
We use the Netgear DG834G for our internet as i find using a Router is more reliable then useing the free modem. this is why everyone moans at poor Tiscali as they don't want to get a router!
Anytime Calls and Line Rental
We used to pay £10.99 line rental + £12.50 calls. this gave us unlimited day and night calls to UK landlines for free. We also get an 30% off mobile call charges and free caller ID. We now pay just £10.99 for the calls and line rental and £9.00 for the unlimited broadband.
So Overall for just £19.99 for Reliable 8MB Unlimited Broadband and Anjytime calls and line rental this is a Great Deal and i fell sorry for tiscali as they get bad mouthed as of there internet but i have had no problems with the services.
the alba DVCR2 is a DVD Player and VCR which is still on todays market but for a low price of £39.99.
I have had this for around two years now and i have had no problems what so ever. I Brought this from argos when it was around £79.99 when i first got this i throught that the price was a little high as the product is just a basic DVD Player and VCR with hardly no added features.
The DVD Player and VCR are quite reliable but the DVD Player has a problem with copied DVDs such as family tapes that have been trasnsfered on to a DVD. The DVD Player plays them but it stops and skips so this is the only down side of the DVD Player.
The lack of features means that this unit is very basic the unit does not include many features like todays units.
You can now buy more up to date ones from £49.99 or even one with a DVD recorder from just £130.00 so now it not worth buying theses units so if you are after a dvd player with built in VCR do not get this one due to the lack of features and not able to play some types of DVDs.
So Overall it has done a good job over the last two years but soon it will be going and will be replaced with one with a DVD recorded when i get some money saved up
This is a review of the everyone 500 Price Plan. the plan costs Just £20.00 a Month and you get 500 any network offpeak minutes and 50 texts to any uk network at anytime. as a long term customer i have been given an £5 Discount on this price plan so i pay £15. On average every month i use around 400 Minutes and around 30 Texts. which if i used pay as you go i will probley be spending something like £103.00 a Month but with this iam paying just £15 a massive saving from £103.00.
I have been on this plan for around three years and find it simply the best vaule on the market if your an offpeak talker or minor texter.
the only con is that the web n walk costs a bomb like i was charged £6.80 for a few Megabytes of data. so thats the only problem is the web n walk charges but this has been capped at £1 a day after a call to t-mobile.
Overall for £15 the plan is great vaule for money and i hope t-mobile kept the plan for a long time and not stop it unlike the other plans they had in the past.
The Oyster card is Londons Electronic Ticket System which gives you Fares Lower then the cash rate. For exmaple the Cash fare for a Bus is £2.00 and Oyster is Just 90P. A One Day Travel Card is £3.50 With Oyster it is £3.00 Capped throughout the day on Buses.
Now TFL says Everyone over the age of 11 needs a oyster card to use the buses to stop vauldisism. The good thing about this is that if any of thoses kids vaulidise the bus then TFL can track them down by the Oyster card. TFL say that anyone under 18 that gets free travel will have there cards taken away and stopped if they are caught vauliseing the buses or causing trouble. i know one person who was caught on CCTV and his card stopped working as he tagged some of the windows. (Well done TFL for stopping this card may of taught him a lesson)
So it is a cheaper way to use TFL Buses, Undergrounnf etc. Kids and under 18s in full time education travel free on the buses but pay on the underground. anyone over 18 gets a 30% discount on the Buses and underground.
The Oyster card as explained give syou a cheaper rate than the cash fare. it can be used on every london bus and all underground lines including London Overground and DLR
It can help trackle Crime and stop people from wrecking the Transport system. It can also help catch people who assult people on the buses (CCTV helps with this as when you scan your card they just find you records and then your arressted)
Problems with the card
There have been the odd problem where the card does not read on the reader.
The reason why People are not keen of the oyster card that it tracks everything you done on the transport system. Like What bus you got at what stop, Time you got on the bus. so some people think it auother way for the goverment to track where your going.
A Auother con is that the oyster card can not be used on Overground trains such as South Eastern.
Overall it is a Good idea but i think Kids sould be made to pay a fare outside school hours such as 40P a bus ride or capped at £1.00 so that they pay there bit around and saves everyone else paying for them
The Mikomi LCDW 19 HD is a 19" HD Ready TV which can be brought from Argos from £159.99. The TV is Not a High Class TV such as Sony, Samsung etc. But it does the Same Job.
The Tv Comes with a Range of Slots such as
HDMI - Plug your Sky HD or HD DVD Player
YPBPR - Plug your wii and make your wii up to 480P
The TV can Support up to 1080I but not 1080P so the Tv is it fully HD but the TV does show that it can be cheap to make a HDTV and hopefully big comapnies like sony will lower there prices to match the low budjet TVs.
The TV is a widescreen TV and Offers a Large Remote which Most of the bottons you will not use such as the Colour Bottons as it has no Built in Freeview and Analog teletext goes off in a few years. The remote is quite big about a good 25CM.
Overall the Tv is a Great TV and i know it quite small but i don't use it a lot and only use it a few hours a day and not all the time so it not a bad size for me.
Sorry i could not put more into this review but i got work now and spent about 15 Minutes writing this.
London Transport Runs The London Underground and Docklands Light Railway and Contracts outs over 700 Bus routes across the whole of London.
London Buses are Contracted by a Range of Different Companies such as Go Ahead, Arriva, Sel Kent etc. they all charge the same fare and are mointed by TFL to check time and reliabity.
They Offer a Good service and it is due to get either better with the new I-Bus system being installed.
Upgrade work on the Buses-
Transport for London are currently upgrading all the buses in London with the new I-Bus System. The System uses GPS to track the Bus and now the Bus will use Display Boards with audio Sounds telling you what the next bus stop is. Every time you enter one of theses buses you hear a message like "321 To New Cross gate" and then as you go along the route you see and hear bus stops either by the board or by the audio sounds.
For Example if you are approaching New Cross gate you see on the Board New Cross Gate and then you Hear "New Cross Gate All Change"
Docklands Light Railway
DLR is a Smart train System which connects the south east of London to East London. The Trains are controlled by a Computer and do not need a driver. All Trains have a DLR Person on making sure the train is running smoothly and that there is no problems. if a problem occurs then the DLR staff can take over the train manually. The Trains are Every 2 - 5 Minutes but they are doing upgrade work on the DLR with new Trains being brought in and stations being made longer.
London Underground is a mixture of Lines which connect the whole of London (Not the south east!). Most Underground stations are on the north side of the river with around 15 of the south side. The Trains are Normally Every 2 - 5 Minutes and provide a good service.
So Overall Transport for London Offer a great Journey and are probley one of the worlds best transport systems. The only thing that will make TFL Better is extending the Underground to more parts of london on the south side of the river.
T-Mobile is one of the Biggest Mobile networks in the world which are based in the UK, Germany, USA and Other Countries around the world.
I been with T-Mobile for Over Five Years and we have had a Great Service from them Over the Years. We are on there Pay Monthly Plans were we get 500 Offpeak Any Network Minutes and 50 Texts (Everyone 500) for just £15.00 a Month. Thats Just 50P A Day! or 0.02P Per a Minute to any network offpeak! We get a Loyality Discount of £5.00 A Month or £60.00 a year and a brand new phone for free!
They also Offer TV Via 3G for around £7.50 a month, Web N Walk for around £15 a Month which is quite good vaule.
They are quite Reasonable when i make calls in the day time as a call each call to amobile costs 20P a minute and each text once you run out each text will cost 10P.
They offer great Techical Support and have fixed so problems with my phone such as GPRS settings and 3G Settings
The Lastest upgrade i did was
Loyality Discount - £5.00/MO
Sony Ericsson K850I For free
They even let me off for the delivery.
So i have always liked them and been with them since they were one2one. They Offer the best Mobile Service possible and give the Customers a great Deal.
The only Error which happen on our account was that there was a mistake and our accounts got cut off with a big bill from t-Mobile. We rang them up and we were back up and running with 20 Minutes and were Given £50 Credit!
Thats the only problem we had and we are still with them getting our free phones and discounts every year.
So Overall its a great Mobile network and i would recommand it all.
The Millennium dome is Now the O2 Arena (wish Dooyoo Would make a New Review Page for the O2). The O2 arena Is now one of Europes Biggest Entertainment district Featuring
Large 20,000 Seat Arena
Bars and Restrants
Ice Skating Ring
Exhibitions such as Tutankhamun and Space.
O2 Shops and Services
And with 50% still not in use with Plans of an Blowing Alley and More Shops, Exhibition Space and Entertainment due to be added it can only get better Over time.
There are lots of pros about the o2. It has now made a use of a large space which is Earning Loads of money and is getting a good repuation.
the O2 arena has many shows throughout the year with tickets costing as little as £10.00 it is worth seeing a show or going to a consert without having to travel miles away. The o2 Has become the most sussfull idea with the dome and it is expected to make atleast £3 Billion in Profit by 2013.
The Great Thing about this that some Movie Prems are Moving away from the westend to the dome. Movies such as The simpsons Movie and Naria Prince Caspin are doing Prems at the o2.
The Other Great Things are Great Entertainment Such as a VUE Cinema With Cheaper Ticket Prices and Faier Food Prices unlike the cinema down the road.
There is a large Ice skating Ring which is quite pricey but as the only one in London it is worth making a trip down there in the summer.
The Restrants are Not like Mc donalds or Burger King Restrants but are more posh and experienve restrants such as nandos, Star-Bucks etc
There are no plans to put a Mc Donalds in the dome which is a shame as if people with kids go to a cinema or a show at an arena there kids will prefer a mc donalds not sitting still in a posh restrant. so that is a bad point.
So Overall they have made very good use with the space and with more being put in over time i can this being a great idea compared to 2000.
I say to myself if this was the Millennium dome and they made it like what is was now i think the dome would of been more popular and more in use then in 2000.
We have had sky for over 7 years now and they have offered nothing but a top quailty service. We have had there broadband, Line rental and anytime calls for around 2 years and there TV package for around 7 years. We have had a great service from them and no problems what so ever we pay them £83.00 a month and this includes
Sky TV 6 Mix
Sky + Multiroom X 2
Sky Broadband 16MB
Sky Anytime Calls
Sky Line Rental
The Sky TV is Great the only channels we don't get is the sports but we never watch any sports so this is no problem.
Sky Movies has over 100 Movies playing weekly on nine different channels. the sky movies are great every saturday night when the new movies are shown on the channel
The Sky Multiroom is just £10.00 extra a month and will give you all the packages you are have a subcripton with. You can have up to 8 standard sky boxes or 4 sky plus boxes on any one saterlight dish. Sky have said we can only have up to 8 Sky Boxes on any one property.
We get Sky Broadband 16MB which is £10 a month. the broadband which at most times clocks at around 14MB and we use it all the time and we have not had any problems or our speed capped by sky. the broadband comes with a Not so stable router but as soon as you change a few settings your broadband is the most reliable there is.
The sky anytime calls is just £5 and you can call day and night to any uk landline for free but you still have to pay for Mobiles, 0870 Numbers etc
The sky line rental is just £10.00 so instead of paying BT for nothing you can pay sky to look after your line as they are provding all your services for you.
The Sky anytime is on the Sky plus boxes mainly the Sky+ PVR3 Boxes and every week you have a selection of ad free progammes on your box ready to use. the progamme only lasts the week and you can save it on to your sky plus box for free.
Other Features Include on Sky which are Free are

Sky Player - Just like sky anytime but on your pc you can watch sky tv progammes Free on your computer or a small fee.
Online Planner - Every Channels Progamme guide on the My sky page. see whats on sky one with out having to look on your tv
Overall i rate sky 8/10
A little bit Pricy on the TV package but great vaule on there broadband Considering that Virgin media want you to pay £35 a month for 10MB broadband.
I think sky will get better over time and will propley become one of the UKs Top Providers for TV, Broadband and Line Services.
I got this unit Three Years ago at Christmas time at the cost of £99.99 to replace my big old bulky monitor. When I brought the monitor it came with a standard three year warranty.
The monitor it self is a good size 19" and is not a wide screen. The monitor comes in Two colours Black and sliver and I currently have the Black one. The monitor includes a Auto Config which sets the monitor up by the graphic card.
the monitor includes three user setting Cool, warm and user. The user is set up by the graphic card while cool is the default setting and warm is the setting which makes the monitor brighter. The good thing about the monitor is that the cable which plugs in to the computer (DTV) can be removed from the monitor and replaced if the cable gets damaged unlike standard monitors. The monitor I would recommend to everyone as you get Three years warranty Free with the
The Monitor it self is very good value and I see it sell in staples for around £129.99 so when you think about a 17" LCD Monitor sells for around £119.99 and it is worth paying the extra £10.00 and even £99.99 for a LCD 19" Monitor.
So Far Three Years and still working Great, All Buttons still work, well everything still works and the monitor is just over three years old. When I think about this my old monitor only lasted three years and before that it was starting to die so this is well worth it also it uses 4 times less power then my old monitor did.
So Overall for £99.99 and still working after three years this Monitor is well worth it and I will use Acer products in the near Future should I ever need to replace this one which could be in the next few years or even the next ten years. It says on the Box when u brought it "Up to Ten Years Life" So Hopefully it still got seven years in it.
Well that's all I can say. I have no problems with it and it has not over heated and no faults of any kind.
Wario Ware has always been known for small Micro games which last a few seconds but this version knocks them all out. This version uses the Wii remote for all the games and sometimes it uses the Nunchuk. With This version you not just pressing A & B you're moving your controller around so it makes it fell like your more in the game.
Wario Ware Smooth Moves is a set of 200 Micro Games which use the Full the Wii Remote to it Fullest Campitiabties.
The game starts off in Diamond City with only the wario game Unlocked. As you Start to play you will start to unlock even more Micro games when you reach the end you can unlock even more games.
The game contains all the old favourites such as funky Jimmy T, Spitz and 9-Volt.
There are quite a few new and old Charters been added in to the game but there's too many to list.
Here are some of the smooth Moves you do can on the game
The Remote Control - Move your Wii Remote around and try to find hidden Objects or Move Objects around
The Umbrella - Hold the Wii Remote up and either Move it up or down or Left to right.
The Chauffeur - Hold both hands on the Wii remote and turns it like a sterling Wheel.
The Elephant - Place the Wii remote on your nose and use it like a trunk.
You may also know that you have multiplayer games on this game but I have not unlocked theses yet so I can't comment on them.
All Together this game is very good and I would recommend it as a game to buy when you buy your Wii Console
