I have always liked the food at Cafe Rouge but every time I have been, and this is always to different locations, thje service has been hurrendous.
The first time I dined at Cafe Rouge was at the Trafford Centre. it was for lunch and I had the Tartine à la Grecque ( an open sandwich of warm feta cheese, baby plum tomatoes, grilled courgettes, green beans and Niçoise olives with flame-roasted red pepper tapenade on grilled sourdough bread) and my mum had the Croque Monsieur (a croque of ham & melted Gruyère cheese with French fries and a salad garnish) and it was gorgeous. Brilliant food. But, and it is a big but....we waited for literally forty five minutes for a cold sandwich and ham and cheese on toast.
To be honest, I was having a lovely day out with my mum and I would not have minded if it was busy, as we were fine with out conversation and drinks, but there was honestly only around four other tables in the restaurant. This was just unbelievable. I managed to get the waitresses attention after about thirty five minutes and she actually told us that she had forgotten to put the order through. She was nice and polite, but no apology.
Ten minutes later our food was served by the same waitress and still, no apology.
Like I said, the food was brilliant, but just should not have taken that long!
When we had finished we asked for the bill and waited another fifteen minutes. This was not because the waitress was busy, as we watched her have a chat at the bar for this amount of time.
As I work in the catering business, I know how everything works and it frustrates me when there is no valid excuse or reason for bad service.
When the bill was eventually brought over to us, I did explain how we felt about the service and they knocked 25% off the bill which was good.
Another time I went to Cafe Rouge was in London. Myself and my partner went there for lunch and we both had a simple chicken baguette.
A quarter of my way into my baguette I realised that the chicken was actually raw and I had actually eaten some!! My partner checked his and his was the same, His baguette was actually stained with blood. I just dont think this is acceptable. I had to go and make myself vomit as if I didnt I deffinately would have been food poisoned. Yes they took the food off the bill for us and yes they were apologetic, but at the end of the day, a trained, qualified, experienced chef should never be so lazy to actually cook up raw chicke. It just should not happen.
I have also been to the Liverpool One branch and the service was not good.
These are three different Cafe Rougu branches and at all of them we havn't had the greatest experiences!
I wont be dining at Cafe Rouge again as I think that their staff are undertrained and they need to deliver a better service in order for me to hand over my money again.
I recently went on a Bobbi Brown shopping spree and bought many products. I had never used this particular product before so decided to give it a go.
As sorry as I am to say it, I was not impressed.
To start with, the remover didn't actually remove all of my mascara from my lashes, no matter how hard I tried.
This remover though does in fact remove face make up e.g. foundation, powder and blusher easily. The consultant told me to try this out as although it only says eye make up remover on the bottle, it does actually cleanse the whole face. This did work well and I didnt have to use that much of it to cleanse my whole face.
This product contains jojoba oil provides moisturization and it does not evaporate like water based moisturizers can. This originally made me purchase the product but I was later disappointed to find that the product leaves the skin very oily and greasy. I would advise to anyone purchasing this product to wash the face with luke warm water after removing the make up. But this does actually defeat the object of applying jojoba oil to the face as the face needs to be washed after applying due to the very oily, greasy substance left on the face afterwards.
Overall, priced at £14 for the smallest bottle, I think this product is completely over priced and it doesnt actually do the job of removing eye make up.
I have always used MAC make up and decided to try out Bobbi Brown after Christmas. I decided to buy this particular foundation and boy was it worth it!
This foundation is completely different to any other I have used before. It is so light and soft and does not feel or look heavy atall.
I always make sure I moisturise my face before applying my make up and always apply my foundation with a brush which made this foundation even more silky. It is just beautiful. It does not even feel like you are wearing make up as it is so light on the face.
A lot of foundations leave your face quite greasy and shiny, no matter how much powder you wear, but with Bobbi Brown you barely even need powder.
The bottle is very slick and isn't too big or too small. It is deffinately worth the price given the size and the quality of the make up and is just the right size to fit in your make up bag along with other essentials
and in your handbag on a night out. It is very classy and comes with a screw on black lid. If you want a pump instead, you can actually buy these from Bobbi Brown. I personally find the pumps easier to use as I use a brush to apply the foundation.
It is great that most make up brands match foundations to your skin before purchasing as it gives you time to see how it looks and feels before actually buying it.
I will always stick with the Bobbi Brown foundation now as the shade is perfect and the texture is lovely. It also looks amazing and not too thick.
