      ~Review~

This was bought as a present for my five year old daughter just after we had bought her the police station! However it is good because it fits in well with the emergency services theme and is the start of another section of Lego she can play with. It is available for £9.99 but it is also available from most other shops.

This is aimed at children from five years upwards and I would say this is probably about right as for building it. However I would say that children with delicate fingers that even younger ones could play with it. My daughter managed to follow the instructions and only had a bit of difficulty with a couple of bits, mainly winding in the fire hose. Also she had to have her dad's help to put the stickers on because they are very tricky and can easily go wrong as they need to be placed on first time.

As with all Lego they are very realistic and comes with quite a lot of little features like the hose, walkie-talkie and a fire extinguisher. It also includes the fire chief who has a helmet and visor and an axe. This is quite a tough fire truck and is easy to play with but all the little pieces are easy to lose.

This is a great addition to your set but could be a good little starting point if you want to find out if your child likes building Lego. For £10 it is well priced whether buying for your children or as a present for a friend or family.

A great cheap wipe that won't damage your babies' soft skin

When both of my little ones were young I always insisted on buying fragrance free wipes because I felt they were a lot kinder on my babies' skin. Now my youngest is 15 months old I am a lot more relaxed on what wipes I buy. On a particularly frugal ASDA shop I decided to try out their smart price baby wipes. There are 80 wipes in each packet and with it costing just 51p that means only 0.6p per wipe.

I have been very surprised at the quality of these wipes. They are very moist and hard wearing, more than you would expect for a basic wipe. They easily tackle the worst of my son's nappies without getting my fingernails dirty!

The packaging is very simple, baring ASDA's smart price colours of green and white. There is just a sticky piece of plastic covering the opening for the wipes. As with all wipes you must ensure you keep them covered all they will dry up very quickly. With this one you can open and close it as often as you like and it still stays sticky ensuring the wipes stay at their best.

Unless you want a specific brand or you are worried about your babies' skin then there is absolutely no reason not to buy these wipes. From now on I will always use them and would more than recommend them to friends and family.

Great toy for children over 5 with lots to keep then involved

Myself and my partner bought this for our five year old daughter for Christmas. At about £70 it was quite an expensive gamble as she didn't have any other Lego toys so we had no idea how she would react. We needn't have worried. The size of the box alone caused a great deal of excitement and this increased even more when she saw what was inside.

The main worry was that she might not be able to follow the instructions and get bored when she couldn't complete it. However, as with all Lego toys, the instructions are very well laid out and easy to follow. With the added help from her dad when she occasionally missed a part she managed to complete the police station within about a week, doing a small section each night.

This toy is probably best suited to a slightly older age group but our five year old more than enjoyed it and the challenge it presented. The only part she couldn't complete was the stickers as they are quite small and fiddly but her dad was more than happy to get involved. Once built it is also quite delicate so I wouldn't suggest for children any younger than five as heavy hands will probably cause damage. Although it is always rebuildable.

The only problem we had was that one of the bags of bricks was the wrong one so we had to wait a couple of weeks after Christmas until she could start building it. Lego were very helpful and sent out the parts as quick as they could, even including a small Lego keying as a sorry. Because of the speed that they rectified their mistake it has not made me think any worse of this product.
