The Ramada Encore is in a prime location in Bournemouth. Situated at the top of Lansdown it is in walking to distance to all of the local restaurants, bars and clubs, the local shops and of course Bournemouth's most famous asset - the beach!
I stayed at the Ramada Encore last Chrsitmas for one night. We had our works Christmas Party at the Bournemouth International Centre and chose this hotel for the night.
For the one night bed and breakfast cost us £65 with was mid range compared to other local hotels that we looked at.
The room was clean and tidy and had a modern decor. The room had a bathroom with an electric shower and bath. There was hairdryer and trouser press and a selection of tea coffee and a kettle. There was also a TV with a wide variety of freeview channels. The double room was 2 single beds pushed together, but this is something I have come to expect from most hotels now.
The reception area was large and we enjoyed a drink at the bar before going out. The bar was in the reception, and for my liking was too open. I would have liked the bar to be seperated off for a comfortable drink. The prices were average for a hotel.
The breakfast in the morning was very nice. It was a buffet containing all teh traditional English items as well as contiental hams and cheeses.
There was internet access in the reception.
Overall, although I only stayed for one night I would rate this hotel. You got what you paid for
I have owned my Apple iPod (5G) 60 GB for 2½ years now and have nothing to complain about. Admittedly with development of the iTouch and the iPhone the technology, even after this relatively short amount of time, is a little dated, but it does the job that I bought it for.
Design: As explained above the design is dated and the screen is too small to watch videos comfortably on. I actually bought myself a docking station with a larger screen on to get the most out of it (£80). The iPod Touch is a better option for video. I have heard some people say that there is still a problem with the screen getting easily scratched - but I have not had this problem! This version of the ipod is great for using at home or on the train/bus, but is a little bulky to use at the gym or when out for jog. The other versions of the ipod such as the nano and the shuffle are much more suited to this.
Reliabilty: If you are looking for an iPod to store a large collection of music and podcasts on and just listen to on the go then this is a great option for you. The storage is much greater than the newer models available and I can vouch for the durability.
Overall: When buying an iPod think carefully about what you are going to be using it for. If you have a LARGE catalogue of music and are not worried about the video or the weight then this is the iPod for you. Due to the storage this a great choice if you plan to dock your ipod for the majority of the playback!
These are the most comfortble and best quality headphones that I have ever owned. Don't be put off by the price. These truly are worth twice the amount. Whether you are using these headphones on the bus, at the gym or just relaxing at home, you can be assured that they will cancel out any background noise. The innovative design enables the headphones to fit into your ears with maximum comfort. After a while you will not realise that the headphones are in you ears! As well as the comfort the sound quality is at a higher standard than anything that I have previously experienced. Sony has increased the standard expected from in-ear headphones with newly developed 13.5mm driver units which reproduce vocal and instrumental sound with vivid clarity. The headphones also come with a stylish compact carrying case so that they dont get damaged when you are not using them.
Great value for money and a purchase that you will not be disappointed with! Highly recommended!
Personally, whenever I am buying trainers, K-Swiss is usually the only brand for me. I bought my first pair of K-Swiss trainers 5 years ago and havent bought a different brand since. The reason that I like K-Swiss so much is that in my experience that are the most comfortable and stylish. The padding around the ankle and the padded tongue fit your feet like a slipper! This particular pair are very stylish and can be worn casually in the day or just as well in the evening. I like the subltle green in them and the green sole. One criticism that I have with all of the K-Swiss trainers that I own is that the white on the toes is not very durable. After a while this will come a away and leave a grey patch. Once this happens the trainers are destined for the bin.
Overall I would recommend these trainers, or any K-Swiss for that matter!
Tesco is the most popular supermarket in the UK. They have used their popularity to also branch out into a number of financial markets, including insurance, loans and credit cards. Tesco's base and most known franchise is groceries though. There are 4 main types of Tesco stores - Supermarket, Superstores (Tesco Extra), Convenience Stores (Tesco Express) and Petrol stations. I will explain all 4 and their pro and cons:
Supermarket: In my experience Tesco supermarkets are the best around. Most that I have been in are light and airy. There is nothing worse than a pokey supermarket. Prices are competitive and the staff genuinly very helpful. Also, upon entering a Tesco store, there is usually a standard layout. You can almost walk into any Tesco Supermarket and have fair idea where certain things are going to be. The introduction of self serve kisoks is an idea adopted by many of the large supermarket chains and Tesco utilise this well, making checkout for smaller amount of items a lot quicker.
Superstore: Superstores are Supermarkets with a separate department for non food goods. You can now buy almost anything from these stores! As well as the usual non food items such as Books, CDs and DVDs; Tesco Superstores sell a wide variety of electrical products including TV's and cameras, household products including bedding and kitchen ware. You can even buy beds and washing machines from mail order catalogue in store!
Tesco Express: These little convenience stores are found almost everywhere! As you expect they sell the essentials that you expect from any convenience store but the advantage over other stores is that the food is priced at supermarket prices with the great offers that are advertised in the larger stores.
Tesco Petrol: Tesco petrol is very competitively priced, and is often top of the list on may petrolprices.com lists.
This is the ultimate chick flick and I am not ashamed as a man to admit that, although cheesier than a wotsit dipped in fondue, this film is a classic, and once started its hard to turn off!
The plot is a love story between an upper class doctors daughter and a working class dancer at a holiday camp. Its also a coming of age story, where the daughter, Frances (Baby) Houseman, becomes a woman, and begins to stray from beneath her fathers wing. The story takes place at Kellermans Holiday Camp in the summer of '69. Baby's early teenage years were growing up in the "swining sixties" and she was bought up by a very overprotective father. During the course of the film, she shows a rebelious nature unseen before. When she first meets Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze) early in the film, she is mesmorized, and develops and immediate crush. Due to dramtaic circumstances, Johnny is left without a dance partner and Baby steps in - without the knowledge of her father or the management of the holiday camp at which Johnny is working.
The soundtrack makes this movie what it is. Every track sets each scene up and they flow effortlessly together. Even the odd Ballroom and Latin songs. If you enjoy this film I recommend the Ultimate Dirty Dancing Album, where the tracks are ordered in the same order as they appear in the film. Listening to the soundtrack; you relive the film scene for scene!
Recommended Film: 9/10
Facebook is taking over the world. For many people Facebook is more of a lifestyle than just a social networking site. In the last 2 years facebook has just exploded. In the early days the only goal for the site was for like minded college and university students to keep in touch if and when they upped and left. Pursueing careers all over the world. It seems that todays youth use facebook as a daily management system, regularly checking in throughout the day to see what is happening. Ironically the obsession with facebooks online socialising is actually making people less social. The constant need to log in IS obsessive, and its not just kids. People of all ages are spending longer and longer in front of their compuer monitor instead of interacting face to face with others.
If used in moderation there are some fantastic advatages to facebook. You can keep in contact with family and friends all over the world, who 10 years ago, you would be to scared to phone for 10 minutes with the thought of the iminent telephone bill looming. Its also a great place to showcase your photographs! In my opinion, the photo tagging in Facebook is the best thing about the whole website. Facebook allows to to "tag" yourself and your friends in photos. Once this is done, the phot will appear on their profile page, creating a gallery of photos.
There are also many applications on facebook, including games and quizes. You can test yourself and see how you complare against your friends as many have leaderboards.
My opinion of Facebook, as a recovering addict, is that used in moderation it is an enjoyable way to keep in contact and use up soem free time, but don't over do it!
I recieved the Thermos Everyday 450 Travel Mug from my girlfiend last Christmas, and what a good presnet it has turned out to be! I may just buy a case of these and give them out to all my friends and family next Christmas! In my job I travel a lot and also spend a considerable amont of time outside. This winter has been the coldest on record and would have been a lot worse without my comapanion! The design of the mug is very simple but modern, but dont let the design cloud your judgement of the quality. The liquid remains hot for a good 8 hours. The flask is lightweight and easily to carry in or with your daily lunch. I have used this flask almost everyday now for the last 2½ months and it is still in as good a condition as when it was bought so I can rate the reliabilty as high. Although there is a manufaturers gaurentee of 5 years, which for teh price of the product is a great addition. It shows that Thermos have trust in there craftmanship of the product! The price of this product is also very appealling; I would rate it at half the price. I find it ironic for the price of a fancy coffee from an over-commercialised, over-priced and over-rated brand name high street establishment, you can buy this flask! My final thoughts on this flask/mug... If you dont have one, get one, your wont be disappointed.
I bought the 2004 model of this car in late 2007. It had one previous owner and was in perfect condition. 3 years later and the car is running as well now as it was then! I did not go out with the thought of buying this paticular make or model. My only criteria when looking for a car was that it had to be relatively cheap, have 5 doors and less than 5 years old. I am glad that I chose this car! It has everything that you need. The interior is simple yet smart. The central dash is well organised with radio/CD player and air con. The model that I went for also has a heated windscreen, which personally, I think is the best thing about the car!! On those frosty mornings when the neighbours are scrapping the ice off their cars, I am sat in mine, listening to the radio wathing the ice melt away in half the time that they spend scrapping! There is ample space in the boot and the back seat easily fits 3. There are airbags fitted in the steering wheel and in the passangers side.
I recently bought this phone from Tesco. It was for sale for less than £40 on a PayAsYouGo O2 tarrif. The phone is very easy to use and in less than an hour I was using the phone as if I had had it for years. The design is simple, and stylish and fits nicely into my pocket. You can customise nearly everything on the Samsung GT S3100 including the menu, wallpaper, fonts etc. The buttons are not too small and are easy to use when writing SMS messages. The camera on teh phone is 1.3 Mega pixels and takes a good photo. I have also used teh bluetooth connection and paired it with my handsfree kit that works great. One negative point - I still have not worked out how to change the tone for the message to a custom tone. I would recommend this phone to anybody looking for a cheap reliable phone that has everything that you need. For £40 you cant go wrong!
