My son received this keyboard from Early Learning Centre as a present from family for his second birthday. My son loved playing with it at that age but now at age 3 seems bored with it. He has the blue version of the above keyboard.
The keyboard comes with working microphone with stand and a stool. It is not that sturdy as toys go, which was fine for my son using it but his younger cousin (around 20 months old) likes to throw things and knock things over and when he has "played with it" bits of the keyboard have ended up broken. To be fair it is not meant to be thrown about etc.
In all honesty I do not think it will last much longer and will need to be thrown away. It is a good keyboard but would not be any good for a child who is rough with toys.
The keyboard is aimed at aged 3-6 year olds but I highly doubt a child over 4/5 would be able to sit comfortably on the stool as it is quite small.
My three year old son got this play kitchen from Early Learning Centre for Christmas from his Nan and Grandad and considering the amount he got for christmas (the child got spoilt rotten!) this is the toy he plays with the most.
This kitchen stands at a little under 4 feet high I'd say and is a kitchen with cooker, dishwasher and folding table all in one. The set he got also came with some play food, plates, knives, forks, spoons, cooking utensils, pots and pans and salt and pepper shakers. The hob sizzles when something is placed on it - ie pots or pans etc - and takes if I remember rightly 2 AA batteries.
The kitchen does not come already assembled so you do need to put it together, put the stickers on etc but it does not take that long at all.
This is a good play kitchen for any child who likes to play "house"
Where do I start with this film? This film is one that I would call a Classic for the Girls! I first watched this film when I was about thirteen years old and even now ten years later, I still love this film and could still watch it over and over again.
It is every teenage girls dream to fall in love with a gorgeous guy. This film shows the main character "Baby" falling in love with a dance teacher named Johnny while she is at a summer holiday camp with her family. Baby and Johnny have to keep their relationship a secret as her parents would not approve of Johnny.
This film draws you in from the start and makes you care about the characters and what happens. If you are female over 12/13 and you have not seen this film, I have to ask Where Have You Been??
The absolute best film ever.
I would not say I was a die hard Girls Aloud fan but this album was bought for me as a christmas present so I gave it a listen and I have to say it isn't bad!
This greatest hits album has 15 songs on it, some of Girls Alouds "classics" such as Sound Of The Underground and also some covers such as Jump and I Think We're Alone Now.
Personally, I have found myself putting this album on if I am doing housework as most of the songs are easy to sing along to and are "quick songs" and quite catchy like Love MAchine and No Good Advice.
There are one or two tracks on the album that I do not tend to listen to but overall for what it is, it is a good album.
It is good to listen to if you are doing housework or getting ready for a night out on the tiles.
I would not spend loads of money on it though!
Friends is an American Sitcom which was created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman. The programs were originally aired between September 1994 and May 2006 but are re-run still to this day. It starred Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matt Le Blanc, Matthew Perry, Courtney Cox and Lisa Kudrow as 6 friends living in Manhattan, New York.
There are a massive ten seasons of Friends, which total at 236 episodes!
I have been a fan of friends for a very long time and even now watch episodes on television or dvd and still laugh at them! The show and the humour never gets old!
Friends is alot different to most other sitcoms in that it has 6 leading characters. Each character has his/her own charm. Everyone who watches Friends will have their own favourite "Friend". Mine is Chandler Bing, his sarcastic comments are absolutely classic.
Friends is definately one to watch, it is very light hearted the majority of the time and you are guaranteed to laugh!
Family Guy is a cartoon about the Griffin family and their everyday life and struggles. The Griffin family consists of Peter (dad) Lois (mum) Meg (daughter) Chris (son) Stewie (baby) and Brian (pet dog that talks).
Clearly a cartoon aimed at adults not children, Family Guy is on BBC Three late at night and also on FX (sky channel 164).
The show includes several controversial characters such as Herbert the Pervert, a nymphomaniac named Quagmire, also some of the things that Peter says can be rather controversial!.
This show is extremely funny, my boyfriend and I both find ourselves laughing out loud to it all the time! As with any show there are some episodes that are funnier then ever.
Not everyone will find Family Guy funny, it is cheeky, sometimes rude humour. I would say it is a mixture of The Simpsons and something like South Park or Beavis and Butthead.
I started watching CSI New York about a year ago. I have to say, this is now one of my favourite tv programs and I now own several dvd box sets. There are 3 different places that are shown on CSI. Las Vegas, Miami and New York. Personally I am stuck between which is my favourite between Las Vegas and New York.
CSI New York is about the forensics team or the Crime Scene Investigation team in New York as they visit crime scenes, process the evidence and find out what happened. I have found it hard to get into a show if I put it on halfway through, I need to watch it from the beginning or I get frustrated where I have missed important bits lol. The main characters also have their own personal problems which can sometimes interfere with crime scenes or infact be part of it! This is television at its very best.
Where should I start?! Shrek is a modern classic film. I wouldn't even necessarily put it in the children's section as it is brilliant for adults and children alike! Shrek is an ogre who just wants some peace and quiet. He embarks on an adventure purely to get rid of the noisy fairytale creatures!
If I had to use one word to describe this film, it would be "Hilarious". I have recently watched it with my son who is 3. He is now a huge Shrek fan and we will be watching Shrek 2 soon!
Mike Myers is brilliant as the voice of Shrek but personally I found Eddie Murphy as Donkey even funnier. The things that Donkey comes out with and the way that Eddie Murphy delivers the lines makes Donkey one of, if not the funniest character in the film. There are plenty of other funny characters which keeps this film going. Absolutely brilliant.
The day Sex And The City The Movie came out, my friends and I went to the cinema to see it. For three of us, we had been waiting a long time for the film to come out, as hardcore sex and the city fans. One of my friends had only ever seen 2 episodes of the show. All four of us enjoyed the film, and it is honestly the only film that I have laughed hysterically at - Charlotte's "accident" is classic - and also sobbed through. Even the friend who had only seen 2 episodes was in tears. The film is a must see for any sex and the city fan but is also a great film for any female to see. I don't want to go into the plot of the film because I don't want to give any of it away! Make sure you have a box of tissues ready for the tears!
The one downside is that it is quite a long film - I ended u with a numb bum by the end of watching it!
After moving into our new home in november we decided to get Sky TV with a Sky+ box installed and also decided to get their talk unlimited package which is £5 a month. With the call package we chose, we also found out that we could get Sky Broadband Basic for free. We decided to take up this offer and a Netgear wireless router was delivered to my house free of charge.
The router comes with a disc for easy installation of the router. Now I am not the most technically minded person but even I was able to install the broadband and get it set up for wireless connection in about 30 minutes time. It is very easy to follow and it is practically impossible to get it wrong.
The broadband is now set up and wireless is working fine. The connection to the internet is immediate, I have not had any problems whatsoever with the service and the fact that it is free is a huge bonus! Now that we have broadband with Sky, I would not go to any other company. Previously I have experienced Virgin Media and AOL and they are not a patch on Sky.
Imagine waking up having amnesia and not being able to remember the last 3 years of your life. Now imagine your entire life being completely different to how you remember it. This is what happens to Lexi when she wakes up in hospital. She believes she is in 2004, has wonky teeth, a crap boyfriend and a dead end job. She is actually in 2007, is married to a gorgeous millionaire, has beautiful straight teeth and is the boss of her department! That may sound great but all her old friends/colleagues hate her and now work for her! A rival is after her job, which she now cannot remember how to do and a sexy guy shows up with a huge bombshell! Will Lexi remember what has happened in the last 3 years?
This book is absolutely brilliant. It is the kind of book that you cannot put down. I would recommend this to any woman! Sophie Kinsella is a very funny writer and I found myself laughing out loud to some parts in the story. Another recommendation would be Sophie Kinsella's Shopoholic series - absolutely brilliant!
I have to say first off that I did not like this breast pump. I found it quite hard work! I only got a breast pump so my partner could be involved in feeding our son but after using this a few times we had to go out and buy a different one as it was just too difficult to use.
I found it quite hard to get it onto my breast correctly, then found I would be sitting for ages just to get enough milk out for one feed and it just was not worth the effort.
Good point to it is that it is easy to put together and take apart for cleaning and sterilising. I have to say that is the only good point that I can think of! We used it for a short period of time then ended up throwing it in the bin! Good luck if you choose to buy one!
I have been buying Love It since it came out and look forward to buying it every tuesday! The price has gone up to 68p but it is still a bargain! It is packed full of real life stories, celebrity stories, beauty, fashion, men, diets, everything you could want! The editors letter at the beginning of the magazine is always hilarious as Karen the ed shares whats been happening in her life and family!
The magazine also includes puzzles and prizes, problem pages, horoscopes and handy tips. It has the perfect combination for a magazine and at just 68 pence you can't go wrong!
Considering the prices of other magazines, you wonder why they can't sell them for this price if Love It! can! They are clearly charging far too much money for what is basically the same celebrity stories that Love It have but Love It has so much more..
I have bought Love It since it came out and will continue to buy it!
As a mother of a 3 year old and the auntie of a 20 month old, I have shopped a Early Learning Centre for quite a while now! I find most of their toys to be of reasonable prices and are always excellent quality. I have ordered from there website for delivery but generally find when the items are delivered they seem to be a bit tatty. The boxes tend to be dented and if you are giving it as a present it doesn't look great!
Early Learning Centre also do a "Birthday Club" which you can sign up to and just before your childs birthday they will send you a voucher for 20% off your purchase which obviously comes in handy! These vouchers can usually be used instore or online. They also send a gift for your child but they aren't great. The gift they sent for my sons 1st birthday was a cd of Under the Sea songs which he wasn't interested in to be honest. But it is free so not something to complain or worry about!
All in all, I will continue to shop at ELC as the range and quality of their toys by far outweighs any negatives!
When I was younger I had several hamsters. I loved the responsibility of looking after something. Hamsters do need regular care and handling so was a perfect pet for me. I am now an adult with a 3 year old son who has been asking for a pet - a kitten to be precise - for quite a while. So as a compromise as it was his first pet, we got him a hamster for christmas. He loves the hamster! He loves to help clean the cage - well I clean it, he helps to dry it and put clean sawdust, bedding etc. He also likes to give his hamster fresh food and fresh water.
There are several things you need to buy before getting a hamster:
- Sawdust / woodchips for the bottom of the cage
- food bowl
- water bottle
- hamster food and treats
- vitamin drops for water
- exercise ball
So generally there is a start up cost as cages can be anywhere from £25 up to and above £100 depending on what type you get.
Also if you get a young hamster or a hamster that is not used to be handled, you have to expect to be bitten a few times as they get used to being handled. Hamster bites do actually hurt believe it or not! I have been doing the "hamster handling" with our current pet as I do not want my son to be bitten, so I am trying to get the hamster used to being handled. When handling hamsters, it is important that your hands are clean because if they smell food on your hands they will think it is food because they have poor eyesight so you are more likely to get bitten. It is also important to be seated as they do sometimes jump out of your hands and it is obviously safer for them to land a short distance into your lap rather then a long distance to the floor!
Once hamsters are used to being handled though, they are lovely pets, mine used to climb up me and sit on my head! They do not have a very long lifespan though (2-3 years generally) so do be prepared for that!
