In order to set my concealer i decided to invest in a cheap yet effective pressed powder and after all the hype over the collection 2000 range i decided to go for this one.
PRODUCT SIZE: 17g
PRICE: £1.99 (superdrug)
Contains vitamin E
UVA and UVB sun protection
APPLICATION: Using a large powder i brush i swirl it in the product and apply all over my face to set my makeup to allow it to last longer.
Gives a flawless finish
Wide range of shades available
Blends into skin nicely
Doesnt leave skin feeling clogged
Helps make up last longer
Plastic protective lid is very flimsy easily broken
Need to use quite a lot of the product for even a subtle look
im not really a full face of makeup kind of girl so i thought i would buy just a cheap foundation for those few days when i did want to maybe look a little nicer than usual or just on down days to cheer myself up. I have plenty of collection 2000 products which i love and which are cheap so i thought seeing as i trust the brand i would try one of their foundations. My local Lloyds pharmacy stocks this brand as superdrug and boots are far from where i live and this was the only foundation they had in ( i really wanted to try the lasting perfection foundation!)
BRAND: Collection 2000
PRICE: around £2.99/£3.99 (i couldn't find the price online but definitely less than £4!)
PRODUCT SIZE: 35ml
Contains protection from UVA and UVB
APPLICATION: You literally need a tiny amount of this foundation as it is quite a watery consistency, therefore it spreads around your face quickly and easily. I placed a small pea size on the back of my hand and used a No7 foundation brush to apply it to my face for a smoother application. Needless to say i never went out the house with this on my face sure enough it gave me that 'flawless complexion' because my face was one tone ... bright orange!
SPF as i have fair skin
Wide range of shades (although from what i saw most had this orange tone)
Long time to dry
Leaves face very orange, very unnatural look
Feels heavy and pore clogging on skin
Looks very shiny and NOT matt on face
Completely unwearable if you want to leave the house
As a student im often awake late doing work which means i don't always get as much sleep i should which in turn has caused discoloration (dark circles) under my eyes. I've tried various concealers in my time but saw this concealer which is specifically for under eye circles so i thought why not?
'Light diffusing concealer, lightens and brightens under the eye area, helps diminish the appearance of fine lines'
BRAND: Collection 2000
PRICE: 4.99! (Both superdrug and boots) when i bought this months ago it was much cheaper!
METHOD OF APPLICATION:
Open the cap to the concealer and there is a small synthetic brush, you twist the bottom of the concealer and you should hear a clicking sound the product then comes out the middle of the brush allowing you to swipe this in the areas you chose. The concealer does dry quickly so I advise applying and blending to one area at a time. No touch ups required it stays on and doesn't budge for hours on end!
Cheap compared to many other specialized concealers
Easy application with the built in brush
No particular smell (im very particular with putting fragrances on my face)
Good staying power
Dries quickly (for some this is a good thing for others its not)
I have the palest shade which is still rather dark considering england isn't exactly hot most people are (naturally) quite pale
It has a salmon and orange tint to it
Hygiene concerns: using the brush all over the face may transfer bacteria causing breakouts)
Hard to blend (even when using other brushes/fingers)
Doesn't give a natural look
Didn't help to hide dark circles it drew more attention to the area
During my teen years i have suffered with inflamed pimples which the more i treat the worse they seem to get. So normally i just let them run their course but recently they seem to persist for a lengthy period of time and often they scar. My skin is fairly sensitive so i was a little concerned about the 4% Nicotinamide but i decided to take the plunge after the hype on youtube and the great reviews I have read on it.
PRODUCT AMOUNT: 10g
PRICE: £5.10 (from boots, although it is available in superdrug for a similar price)
WHAT I THINK:
Within a few hours reduced my spot size
Redness also greatly reduced during the day
My spots haven't scarred as bad
Skin became irritated and rough
My spots didn't seem to clear they continued to persist for a long period of time (over a week!)
It seemed to dry out my spots so when i did decide to cover them up with concealer it went flaky and cracked (not a good look)
This is not for someone with severe acne
If you just have the odd pimple give it a whirl!
If you're looking for a permanent solution to troublesome spots this isn't the answer
This is the answer if you simply want to lessen the effects of your spot
Thank you for reading my review i try to keep things short and sweet rather than long winded because i'm more of a bullet point person, straight to the point. :)
