I adore this game console. It is not just for playing games! This console goes beyond the gaming experience to offer:
1. Blueray DVD player- the newest type of DVD that has more features to it can be played on the playstation.
2. Internet surfer- you can get on the internet and go on youtube and save favorite videos. note: internet experience is better on a computer, and phone line needs to be connected to ps3.
3. Demo downloader- you can choose to download video game demos so you can see what the game is all about before buying the game and possibly wasting all your money.
4. Community interacter- (lol don't you just love all of the random words I'm making up?)- this feature also requires the ps3 to be connected to phone line. Included with every os3 is a feature called "Playstation Home". You can make a character to look a lot like you by choosing eyes, hair, skin and clothes. It becomes very precise when you can choose wrinkles, makeup and forehead width. After you make your person, you can go to the community where there is a theater, a dance floor, a mall and more. You can chat with people by spelling out what you wanna say. You can also dance, say hello, agree, disagree and more. My experience with Playstation Home is as follows:
My boyfriend's brother showed me some characters he made on Playstation Home. My favorite character he made was this large, bald lady with black lipstick on. It was hilarious, he would just walk around and do some random salsa dancing which looked really funny. He was creeping people out. He also has this ugly man he made and he chased other Playstation Home people with it.
5. And, of course, it plays games! The games are really nice looking with great graphics. Of course there are glitches once in a while, but that is to be expected of all game consoles. Ps3 is also able to play ps2 and ps games, which is very convenient.
Some of the games still have glitches like Prince of Persia, where the landscape disappeared on me and some of the images looked choppy.
When playing DVD's the picture sometimes changes because the PS3 is trying to make the picture the best it can but sometimes it fails and just momentarily makes the picture look weird.
Overall this is an excellent game system, though it is pricey, however, it's worth every cent!
Great for hardcore gamers (my bf's brother plays this for days at a time!)

I was interested in this movie since it seemed like it would be funny, so I asked my mom and we ordered it. I watched it alone the first time, with my boyfriend, sister and sister's boyfriend the second time, and with my mother the third time.
I had only heard of this movie, but I really did not know what it was about. I knew it had Mike Meyers, and I knew him only from Austin Powers. I thought this movie would be a pretty dumb, stupid movie. I did not think it would be anything special, just a fun way to take up an hour and a half of your time.
In the first few minutes of the movie, I was pleasantly surprised. It was very entertaining and funny. When I watched it with my boyfriend, he started laughing out loud right at the get-go (and he is a bit picky when it comes to humor).
The Canadian Maple Leafs hockey team is suffering! Their star player, Darren Roanoke, broke up with his girlfriend, and his hockey performance is suffering tremendously! Worse yet, the Stanley Cup games are coming up! The manager/owner of the hockey team (played by Jessica Biel) knows of a great love guru who can help Darren reunite with his wife. The love guru is played by Mike Meyers, and he does a brilliant job at it! The owner of the hockey team offers 2 million dollars to the guru if he can reunite the couple back together which would then increase Darren's hockey performance. The love guru is the #2 best guru in the world, right after another guru. The love guru also finds out he will be able to gtet on Oprah if he reunites the couple, which would then make him the number one guru. This story is all about what the love guru known as Guru Pitka does to get Darren and his wife back together. Through the process, you learn why Darren broke up with his wife in the first place and also you learn a lot of funny acronyms that Mike Meyers has made up. (Bible- basic instructions before leaving Earth...TM! ( I will explain TM later!) The plot is pretty simple, but do not worry, you will not get bored, trust me!
*The Love Guru*
Mike Meyers does a fantastic job of acting out the eccentric love guru. He spits out joke after joke. My boyfriend says he is "too much" and other people may not like it because he just has so much material.... personally, I love it! The guru has a tattoo on his knuckles that remind him of a process needed to be able to get two people back together. Mike Meyer's accent is hilarious, and I personally heard some new jokes I have never heard before, and some classic ones I have not heard for a while! (If your Uncle Jack helped you off of an elephant, would you help your uncle jack off an elephant?)
* Darren Roanoke*
I found that this actor did an okay job with his performace. Darren Roanoke as a character is pretty bland- he is just an ordinary guy who has a strict mother. He is not able to play hockey in front of his mother because he gets so nervous. His character is pretty boring- I cannot really find anything unusual or quirky about him. He is played by Romany Malco, which I have neither heard of nor seen in a movie before!
*Jacques "La Coque" Grande*
This character is played by Justin Timberlake. I personally think Justin did a great job in acing this part. He has a French accent, and he is very...let's say "outgoing" lol. An avid fan of Cher, you see him sing a song of Cher's to Darren Roanoke's wife. (The wife is now dating Jacques, I guess mostly due to the fact he is a very large size down in his pants region)
Her name is Prudence in the movie, played by Meagan Good. Her name does not ring a bell, but I have seen her on other television features. She plays a pretty small part in the movie, but I thought her acting was okay. She is the woman who was dumped by Darren and started dating Jacques. Again, I did not find anything special or unusual about her character. She was portrayed as a very attractive woman. The first time you see her, she has a golden bikini on and the camera looks her up and down lol.
One of the pleasant surprises of this movie was the presence of many celebrities. Guest appearances include Jessica Simpson and one of the main characters in Law & Order SVU. Some other big celebrities who played a bigger role in the movie includes Jessica Alba, Justin Timberlake, and the midget who played in Austin Powers. There also is Stephen Colbert and the blonde comedian who did the whole routine of "hot pockets!". These two comedians occasionally grace the screen for 2 minutes in a row, as they are the hockey commentators.
~Favorite Parts in the Movie~
Going back to the part where I talked about the acronyms with the TM's at the end of it- Guru Pitka holds seminars where he talks about acronyms, and after he puts a TM after it. He actually says TM after every acronym, which proves to be very funny.
I also like the other parts in the movie where Mike Meyers is singing. He sings classic old songs with a special guitar that makes the song sound more Indian. There is dancing in two parts of the movie, where Jessica Biel is in a whole Indian outfit. (looks kinda like a traditional belly dancing outfit). I loved the music and the choreography was bollywood style which I really enjoy.
There are other good parts in this movie, but I do not want to give the story away too much!
~What I Thought About the Movie~
The material was witty and funny, and I have not seen that type of humor in a while. Mike Meyers had a big part of making this movie, and I think he did a brilliant job. Though some parts may be stupid, I found this movie better than other comedy movies I had seen recently. I did not mind watching this movie more than once, because I like to see the reactions of the people I watch it with. I have to be honest though, after watching it three times it gets a bit dull.
Some people do not like this movie, though I am not quite sure why. It is very witty and has a sense of humor I have not seen in a while. If you like comedies, try this one out, I loved it and I hope you do too!
I recommend this for older teens because it has some sexual jokes. Great for anyone who wants a different kind of comedy that rises above the genre!
This book caught my attention when I saw the cover. (It looks different than the one this site provides.) It has a picture of a man covering half of his face including his eye with his hand. Sticking out of the hand is a female face. The background is pitch black. I found it intriguing and I always love reading odd and interesting books that deal with psychology. I thought this book would be quite interesting, and I was right!
This book is about a guy in college who hangs out with a bunch of friends and drinks with them. They play a game where you have to figure out if the other person is lying. (They go around the table, taking turns.) One time the young college man said that he is going to work on a project where they stick a little electronic box on the back of your head, and the box will then identify the emotion that the person is experiencing. Of course, no one believes him, and they start laughing. He insists this is true. This is when the whole idea is introduced about this new technology that is supposed to open up new doors for the exploration of human emotions. As this young man (named Ben) said, he is actually going to do some experiments with this little black box. A professor in his college asked him if he would like to go to a coast in Africa for the experiment, and he did not quite agree until a beautiful woman decided she would go with him. In Africa, the 2 "guinea pigs" have a little piece of hair shaved off of the back bottom of their head, and the box is stitched on. In Africa they are provided with a nice hotel and delicious food. The object of the experiment is to try to experience as many emotions as you can, to see how the box reads it. Subsequently, every emotional experience the two have has to be jotted down in a notebook, with pretty specific details. Oh, and of course there is that extra element in the book, where the two college people fall in love. Everything is fine and dandy until a man gives him a carved wooden monkey, and it ends up being filled with drugs. Ben is then arrested and put into jail. He has to witness the cruelty going on in the cell, and it is a terrifyingly horrible experience. Ben is also paranoid that the jail officials will discover this little black box in the back of his head and throw it away. He would be in a HUGE amount of trouble if this happens because this little black box is worth millions of pounds. After a devastating time in the dirty African jail, the professor finally gets him out. When he is sent home, on the way back the person he is sitting next to gives him another suspicious looking monkey carving. He takes it to the bathroom and it is filled with drugs! Ben is then convinced that the professor is just using him to transport drugs from country to country. He now believes that the black box is fake and it was just a set-up.
I do not want to tell you anymore, because the twists and turns in this booik are AMAZING! When I thought everything died down, another twist came up! I love this book; it deals with the interesting aspects of human emotion, and it was a great first book for the writer Hector Macdonald. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and I could not put it down! I can always tell when it is a good book because I end up reading the whole thing in the course of just a few days! The whole plot ws intriguing and the twists were realistic. It was as if this story could happen sometime in the future. ( I don't think we are close to such an invention these days!) I also loved the cover of the book, which is the reason I looked at it in the first place. I have never read such a story as this before, which is a great feat due to all of the "same old, same old" stories these days. This is a bit of a mystery and thriller, though the mystery about the whole book is "what the heck is going on?" and you do not know if such events are staged or if they are real. I do not like mysteries about murders, they just do not interest me but this was a mystery of another sort. It did a great job in shocking me with the twists. My mouth seriously dropped when I read these twists! This was just such a refreshing book, it was a great find.
Recommended for those who are into the workings of the mind, or just for those who want to read something a bit different!
Since getting a new job, I was quite excited to buy my first very own laptop. I bought this laptop on January 22, 2009. I bought it from buy.com, and the laptop arrived right on the date the website provided. The color I bought was pink, and upon opening it looked like a very pretty color. It was such a small laptop! I was not surprised it was so small because I knew all about the laptop already. It was very cute! I could see the part of the laptop where the little webcam lense was poking out of the top of the screen. I was so excited to turn it on and have a little laptop all on my own! I planned this laptop to be both my computer system for home and school. (I plan on starting school in August). I had a laptop to use during my high school years, but it was so big and heavy, I decided to go with something much smaller.
So here is this cute laptop, sitting in front of me. It came with a 6 cell battery (the 3 cell battery that it comes with only lasts up to 3 hours). So I bought the 6 cell battery that lasts around 6 hours. It also came with an AC adapter, and a thin little laptop cover. I turned on the laptop. It was such a huge disappointment! I heard the laptop turn on, and the power light was on, but the screen was black! I was so sad, but I charged the laptop anyway just to make sure the battery was charged- it was, but still no screen!
I decided to contact Acer technical support. First I called them and they said to send the laptop in for repair. Before I shipped it, I also contacted Acer technical support online, too. They told me to take out the battery and press the power button for thirty seconds, then plug the laptop back in to the outlet, and then once it turns on put the battery back in. To my surprised, the laptop's screen actually turned on! Too bad it did not last for long, because a few minutes after it turned on, the screen froze. I turned the laptop off and tried to start it again, but it did not work! I always had to wait a few hours between each time I turn the laptop on.
So I decided to send the laptop back in for repair instead of turning it in for a refund because I could not even get in contact with buy.com since I could not find the order number. I shipped the laptop to the repair center, and about a week after, I recieved it again. It came with a slip that said "We updated the bios. Tested ok." I was so excited to finally have a working laptop! I guess I am some crazy lunatic person because I expected the laptop to work after being sent to the repair center- but it didn't! In fact, I tried doing the power reboot thing and the screen did not even turn on! It came back in a worse condition then I originally got it!
I was very mad, and the laptop was stressing me out. I mean $400 for a useless piece of metal, and I had my mom giving me lectures about how I made a mistake. I learned my lesson! But still I had to deal with a yelling mother and short $400 from my bank account. I contacted Acer again on the internet and they told me to call a number. I did not call the number because I did not want to deal with this crap again. I filed a complaint with the BBB, and my mom is getting her money back from the credit card company. (The BBB is short for the Better Business Bureau - a place where consumer and companies can correspond regarding problems.) I refuse to pay another $15 (10 pounds) to ship out a laptop for a second time when it should have been working in the first place!
A few days ago, Acer called me in response to my BBB complaint, and they said that they will pay for the shipping to get it repaired. I just basically let him say what he had to say, and then I hung up. I did not tell my mom about the call so she cancelled the transaction on the credit card. I did not even bother calling Acer back, because their customer service sucked! When I got my laptop from the repair center, the address and name on the box was wrong! I am surprised it even got to me!
Here is a copy of the correspondence at the BBB between me and Acer. (The dates are backwards- starting on the next line is my last letter to them.)

03/06/2009 Dispute RESOLVED- with Letter
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Well I have resolved this matter on my own. I would like to say that I am not happy with my customer service and product, and I have made sure everyone I know has heard what I had to say about this company.
I was surprised the business did not offer to replace my broken laptop with a new, working one.
I do not want to bother with packing and mailing laptops, even though the shipping would be paid. I want a working laptop, and I thought sending the laptop off once would suffice!
As I have said, I have worked out my own resolution to this problem.
Do not expect me as a future customer. You obviously do not cherish and take care of your customers or we would not even be having this dispute right now.
Have a good day.

03/05/2009 Consumer Rebuttal to Business Response
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
When Acer contacted me, I hesitantly accepted. I figured out that my mother already called the credit card company and cancelled the transaction, so I sent the laptop back to buy.com. In the beginning I did not want to send my laptop back again anyway because although the shipping was paid for, I would still need to go out of my way to pack the laptop properly and find a FedEx place. I asked for a refund and apparently they did not want to give one even though I have had a lot of trouble with it and the laptop still does not work.

03/03/2009 Receive Business Response
Thank you for your recent inquiry. We appreciate the Better Business Bureau's efforts to resolve consumer complaints and to promote communications between businesses and consumers.
Acer contacted Ms. Fultz and offered a repeat repair and to provide inbound shipping. Ms. Fultz accepted the offer. The repair has been set up and a RMA number has been provided.
I hope this letter has satisfactorily addressed the Better Business Bureau's concerns. Thank you again for your inquiry and for providing the opportunity to respond. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Corporate Customer Care
So now everything is settled, I am just waiting for my $400. (The laptop cost $400 which is about 288 pounds.) Please do not ever buy electronics online, and if you do, make sure it is a repectable company that will help you handle problems asap. I learned my lesson and I do not want anyone to go through what I have!
Because of my anger toward Acer, I also would like to recommend you try to stay away from this brand as much as possible because the customer service sucks, and apparently the products do too!
Oh and one last comment- people may think I am being too harsh and talk about how everyone makes mistakes. Yes, everyone makes mistakes, but I gave them a chance to fix it, and they didn't!
I do agree you can get some good deals online- but the problem is sometimes the products you get online may not work, and it is very hard to deal with that company since it is probably located in a state that is different than your own!
I was in Walmart when I noticed a Cadbury chocolate egg at the checkout aisle. Since this brand is made in England, I decided to try it because of all of the people who like it on this site. I paid 50 cents for it, which is 36 pence. The egg is about one and a half inches tall. It is quite small.
The outside of the egg is covered with a thin aluminum foil, which I did not like because it did not cover and protect the egg. In fact, after I bought the egg I noticed there was a bit of the top of the egg that was exposed because the foil moved and crumpled up on another part of the egg.
I just took a bite of the egg and it was very hard. It may be because I put the egg in the fridge so it will not melt. I ended up just taking a little bit of the outside chocolate off and it was nice, sweet, and creamy.
I just took another bite and with a crunch, the outside chocolate layer came off and revealed the white inside. The chocolate is still very nice tasting.
I just tasted the inside cream; it just tastes like sugar. There could be more flavor, but I'm not complaining! I would have liked it if the cream was a bit more creamy and milky. Again, the cream is a bit firm.
I just took another bite and it is soo cute! Inside of the cream is some orange color. It is just as if it was a real egg, with egg yolk and all!
~What I Thought About the Product~
This is a cute little egg. Though it may not have much taste on the inside, the chocolate on the outside is delicious. I was initially excited to taste it since it was the first time I tasted a chocolate egg from England. The only other chocolate egg I have tried was from Germany (I visit there on occasion, since I was born in Germany) I love Kinder Eggs. Since I am not used to eggs filled with cream, I founded the experience different. The taste was not really that great, but the egg yolk color made up for it! I wonder how the egg would taste at room temperature, because since it was in the fridge it seemed a bit hard and crunchy, but still tasted pretty good.
I recommend it to give to little kids and/or people who will find this little egg cute!
1. I am a vegetarian.
I was talking to my boss about how I do not eat meat, and he thought it was weird lol. I mean I guess it would seem weird to someone who has always eaten meat and not thought twice about it. I just decide not to eat meat because it does not taste that good, and it hurts animals. Why would I choose to hurt other living beings when I am perfectly fine without eating any meat? Some people get sick from not eating meat, but I have been a little/non meat eater since I was three so the diet does not affect me.
2. I wear footed pajamas (and I'm 18)
I just find them soo cute! They are lime green and they have snowmen all over them. They were for kids, but I fit into an x-large! They are just so comfy, they zip from my pant leg all the way up to my neck. They keep my feet nice and warm, and I must emphasize I think they are soo cute! My bf is not really into them lol he calls it my Teletubby Suit!
3. I laugh a lot.
I suppose I am just overly cheesy and goofy. I find a lot of things funny, and I laugh at my own jokes. I mean they are really good jokes but apparently I'm the only one who things that lol. I am very silly and I just like to play around. Sometimes I get hyper and go crazy but my friends already know I am a bit ADHD :D
4. I recently bought a baby doll (and again, I am 18)
Dude, you have to see this doll! When I put the pacifier in her mouth (I named her Penelope), her eyes open and close and her mouth moves! When she falls asleep, you can see her stomach moving up and down. I just thought that it was so creepy how real it looked! I was not just going to waste $20 just to have this doll, so I decided I would take her with me whenever I go out to babysit. The kids loved her!
5. I call my pets weird names.
These names include Fart, Poop, Squat-Pot, monkey, boo-boo, booger, monkey-nut, mashed potato, black butt, charcoal, fat butt.
Overall, I'm a peculiar person. I have a distinct personality of my own, and I am happy about it :D I have my own quirks. Don't make fun of someone because they are different! These people are the ones who keep life interesting.

I purchased this game on Friday, January 6, 2009. I decided to go to Walmart and by myself a DS game since I have not gotten a new one in a while. I was on the phone with my boyfriend and he said I should get Animal Crossing since I like The Sims. I bought it for $36.00 or 25 pounds. I was excited to find out what it would be like playing the game, so I drove home and immediately started playing it.
At first it you are picked up by a cab and the cab driver asks you questions. You tell him your age, birthday, and gender. You are also able to name the town you are going to live in. Finally, I was dropped off and I was sent to talk to the duck at City Hall. She sent me to the store to talk to the store owner. The store owner offered me work for the day, so I would go around and deliver things and plant flowers around the building. After that, the store owner sent me out to introduce myself to all of the neighbors. I was disappointed in the beginning of this game because it was mostly just running around the place and doing boring stuff like going up to someone and giving them a product. I would have much rather liked it if I was more involved in the community and did something a bit more entertaining.
The store owner is the person who built my house for me. It is very small, and has two stories. Both stories are the size of a room. The store owner loaned me 18,000 bells (bells are the currency in the town) so my goal was to get enough bells to pay him back so I could make a bigger house. I was able to pay him back 3 or 4 days after I started playing the game. What I did was pick up seashells and other things off of the seashore and I also shook trees and peaches fell down and I took those too. The store owner bought the items from me, and I ended up getting enough money to pay him back.
At first, the game seemed kind of dull. I would just go around and talk to people to see if they wanted me to do any errands, and it was very seldom that they had me do something. So I would just click on them and they would end up saying something I already heard from them before. After closer evaluation of the game, I found a bunch of interesting things to do. I can go to the store and buy carpet, walls, furniture and more to put in my room. The store selection is not that great, though. Items are switched out every so often though, so the selection changes from time to time.
Also, for those of you who are in touch with your more artistic/creative side, you can design your town flag and a pattern to put on your clothes. Using your stylus, the game gives you a wide variety of colors and some pre-made stamps to let you make your own design. You do not need to use the stamps, you can also just draw free hand. The design you make can be put on display at the clothing store, and the animals may end up wearing it! You can put the design on umbrellas and shirts and other articles of clothing but I forgot what lol.
There is another feature I love about this game, and it is that you can get free stuff! inside a building that leads to a portal to other cities, there are two guard dogs. If you go to the dog on the left and ask if anything is in the lost and found, he will let you know if he has anything and if he does, you will have the opportunity to take whatever is in it. In addition, you can take whatever is in the recycling bin that is located in the City Hall.
The best part of this game is how engaging it is. The game keeps track of the time, and whenever the time changes to the next hour (for example if it was 1:59 and it changed to 2) the bells chime in the game. It is also dark in the city when it is night time and light when it is daytime, just like in real life! A day or two after I bought the game, they had a special event where there was a flea market. Some of the neighbors would come over and ask if some of my stuff was for sale, and in turn I would be able to go to their house and see what they had for sale. The only downside to this was I wanted to go to animal's houses but they were always walking around so I was not able to look inside except for one house I was able to go in.
2 days after that event, there came the Bright Nights Festival where the city's houses and trees were covered in lights. The neighbors compete each other for the best house, and I am the one who has to tell the mayor which house I like the best. This festival started 2 days ago, and will last 7 days. A lot of new neighbors have also been moving in. Each day for the past three days another house shows up and I walk inside and there is an animal with boxes around him telling me to come back tomorrow because he is busy today lol. Also, the town store closed down for remodeling so I was not able to use the store for a day, but the next day it was bigger and had a newer look to it. The game is not so boring as the first day I played it, that's for sure!
I like how the game tries to keep everything fresh, new, and current.
There are also some communication options the game gives you if you know someone else with a DS and Animal Crossing game. You can visit your friend's city, and even meet people who you do not even know. All you need is a wireless internet connection. How you meet people from around the world is you buy a note in a bottle and you release it into the river, and then go to "tag" mode in the game and I guess you are supposed to get it back or something. I am not 100% sure how it works because the wireless internet was not working on the DS so I was not able to connect into tag mode.
As of right now, the game seems pretty good. It starts off a bit slow, but it is a nice game overall. I recommend this to people who like slow paced, fun games and simulations.
