Lovely smell that lasted all day. Some people even commented on how lovely my hair smelt.
Left my hair looking shiny and well nourished.
Nice bottle with cool design - looks great sitting in my bathroom.
Despite appearing as a natural type shampoo, this is full of chemicals etc. and I'm not sure that they will be good for my hair in the long run.
I felt it was quite sticky and sometimes difficult to wash it all out properly and it left a sticky residue on my hair.
I also thought it was quite thick and seemed to take a lot of it to get a good lather which meant that the bottle did not last very long.
It claims to reduce combing damage and although my hair felt soft, I don't think it really lived up to it's claim.
Although this shampoo smells lovely and looks nice, I think there are many better brands on the market in the same price bracket. I wont be buying this one again.
I had previously bought the thinner curling wand and although it worked, I found it gave too tight a curl for my liking so I decided to give this ago.
For the price, it is excellent quality. It looks nice with black handle and gold wand. It has an adjustable temperature so you can control how tight the curl is and you can make sure that it doesn't damage your hair. It also has a built in stand to stop nasty burn makes on your furniture and a nicely contoured cool tip to make it easier to hold. It includes a heat proof glove and although this did stop my fingers getting burnt, I found that it added extra bulk to my hand and made it slightly more difficult to use.
I found that it took a bit of practice and a few youtube videos before I could use this product properly but once I got the hang of it, I found it gave me nicely defined, soft waves/curls that stayed in my hair all evening and looked very natural. The one thing I would say is that if you have short hair, stay away from this product as the large barrel means it wont work.
All in all, a great product at a good price for creating glamourous curls on long hair.
I bought this product because it was on special offer (2 for £8 at boots). I usually buy a lower priced brand but the deal made it quite cheap.
It smells nice. I have found some other sea salt sprays smell strange.
It let my hair wavy but soft and with the help of some mousse, not too frizzy.
Some other sea salt sprays tend to leave my hair really dry but so far so good. My hair still feels like it is in decent condition.
Some other sea salt sprays have let my hair feeling sticky but this is a nice light texture and you would barely know that you had put product on your hair. It leaves your hair looking very natural.
It looks really nice sitting on my dressing table as the bottle looks sleek, stylish and very expensive.
I have found that my hair does not go as wavy as easily as it does with other products and I have to apply more and work my hair more to get the same effect.
Although I do feel this doesn't make my hair as wavy as easily, the other benefits outweigh this. With a little bit of scrunching and working with my hair, I looks great. I am really impressed with this product and may even buy it at full price next time!
Creates curls that hold all day
Digital temperature control means that you can control how much damage you are doing to your hair with the heat and can control how tight you want the curls.
Includes heat proof glove.
Long swivel cable meant that it was easy to move around my bedroom with this device.
Pretty design on the device meant it looked nice.
Takes a bit of getting used to. I had to practice a lot in the mirror to get the hang of how to wrap hair around it to create even curls.
I found that I still got slightly burnt even with the glove and which made it more difficult to use.
I didn't like the tapered end of this wand and would prefer it to be wider and all one width but that is personal opinion. I found the thin end made the curl too tight.
Although this device takes a little bit of getting used to, with some practice you can create nice curls, quickly, and they last all day. I think if I was to buy it again I would buy the wider version but that is entirely up to you.
As a student who loves baking, I bought this for my student flat as I couldn't take my kenwood to uni with me. It is a good value solution but is not quite as good as a proper stand mixer.
Price- a great priced mixer for those who can't afford the big brands like a kenwood but who want something more than just a simple hand mixer.
Detachable hand mixer- you can use this with the bowl or detach the hand mixer
Variety of speeds- low setting, high setting and range from 1-5 means that you can start slow to prevent your ingredients splashing everywhere and then build up speed to ensure it is well mixed.
Bowl spins- means you can leave the mixer to mix your ingredients evenly and you don't have to stand and hold the mixer. You don't have to worry about your arm getting sore if you have a lot to mix etc.
Difficult to get the hang of the bowl and mixer together. The bowl does stick sometimes and you need to make sure you watch what is happening with this mixer.
Bowl isn't very big- I was baking a large cake and found there was not enough room in the bowl and had to use the hand mixer.
It is quite fiddly to reattach the mixer and does take a little bit of time.
It doesn't look that nice sitting on your counter. It does look quite cheap.
For the price and on a short term basis, this is good value for money but it you are serious about baking, it would be better to save up and go for the real thing.
This is another lovely fragrance from Marc Jacobs. I'm already a big fan of Lola and Daisy but this one is nice and refreshing.
There are lovely floral and fruity notes and it certainly does smell nice.
It isn't too heavy or sickly.
It's great for day time and lasts all day. Just a few sprays and you will smell lovely all day long.
A really pretty little bottle that looks nice sitting on your dressing table. It is based on the idea of ladybirds (hence the name 'Dot') and looks cute and modern.
It's really quite expensive for such a little bottle. I got this as a gift but would be reluctant to buy it for myself.
Not as striking as the other Marc Jacobs fragrances. I'm a big fan of Lola because it's something a little bit different but this smells a lot like many other perfumes on the market.
I would recommend this if you would like a light day time fragrance that lasts all day but be aware it's not vastly different to many other perfumes.
I use face wipes every day on my face but as a student, I was finding the branded packets very expensive and found that the boots own brand wipes were rubbish- not damp enough and fell apart really easily.
However, I discovered these and haven't looked back. They are really great for the price
Price- Less than half the price compared to some of the other brands like simple or nivea
Nice and damp which means that they remove make up and dirt pretty easily
Nice and cleansing and refreshing- The cucumber smells nice and leaves your skin feeling soft, smooth and they make me feel wide awake. They are quick and easy to use and they cleanse, tone and moisturise in one step.
Nice packaging- they don't look cheap and tacky.
They are slightly smaller than the other brands and sometimes I have had to use more than one to remove all my make up.
I have found that they are not great at removing waterproof mascara- perhaps buy some eye make up remover if you wear waterproof makeup all the time. I only wear it occasionally so I have found that these work fine for me when I am on a budget.
I would recommend these although they are not quite as good as other brands, they are a lot cheaper. Great for those on a budget.
I am a big fan of tea and drink 4-5 cups a day. I once made the mistake of going for value tea bags, thinking that surely tea bags are the same thing no matter what. I was very wrong. Nothing can beat tetley and they really are one of those branded products that are worth investing in. I tend to buy the big packets that are much better value as tea bags never go out of date so they can sit in the cupboard for ages.
Taste- I really don't think you can get a better taste with any other tea bag. They make great tea with a lovely deep colour.
Resealable packet to keep them fresh- this means that it is easier to buy them in bulk and keep them. This means they are actually good value, despite being priced higher than value or own brand tea bags.
Tea bags are nice and strong and don't rip, leaving tea leaves in your tea, as I have found with some cheaper alternatives.
This may sound silly, but I prefer the round shape of the tetley tea bags as I think they sit better in the cup and make better tea and I find they are easier to lift out of the cup. That may just be my opinion though!
They are priced slightly higher than some other brands but I believe with tea, you get what you pay for!
This stuff is great. As a student, I buy this stuff so I'm not drinking just water all the time as that can get a little boring. It's only around 30p for a bottle and that lasts me around a fortnight as it is double concentrate. You just need to add a little of this to some tap water to get a nice tasting orange flavoured juice.
Double concentrate means it comes in a smaller bottle, which is better for the environment and also means it is easier to carry home and to store. It really is small and takes up hardly any room in my cupboard which is great as I share a student kitchen.
Taste- It tastes great. I really wouldn't notice much difference between this and robinsons. Nice and orangey and leaves a nice colour in the juice.
Easy to use, just add enough until you get the flavour you want.
Really very cheap and is great value
Easy to store- doesn't expire quickly meaning you can leave it in a cupboard for ages.
I really can't think of any disadvantages for this product. I don't know why you would spend a lot more on robinsons and other similar products when, in my opinion, this is just as good and is so much cheaper.
This is my favourite perfume of all time- it smells amazing and looks so pretty sitting on my dressing table. I got it as a christmas gift and I really was delighted. I have just finished the bottle and despite it being quite expensive, I really want to buy more of it because it was lovely.
It is a floral, rose smell that isn't too heavy and I would say is suitable for both day and night. It lasts all day and is quite strong but in a nice way. I have been complimented quite a lot by people who smell this perfume and they have asked me what it is.
The bottle really is lovely. The lid is in the shape of a rose in red, pink, purple and green colours. It looks like a stylish decoration sitting on my dressing table rather than a bottle of perfume. The bottle is a lovely pink colour with gold writing that is simple and elegant looking. It looks really expensive and luxurious. It is available in a variety of sizes for those who can't quit afford the large bottle.
I really can't think of any disadvantages other than if the smell isn't to your taste, it is quite strong. That's really down to personal opinion and I would recommend everyone should smell this perfume.
This book is really useful for students or for anyone who wants to cook simple dishes on a budget.
Lots of recipes! A variety of different dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are also some simple desert dishes and dishes that are suitable to cook for friends. The book uses cheap but healthy ingredients to ensure students get a balanced diet and often offers ideas for vegetarian alternatives if you or your friends don't eat meat!
Uses measurements such as cup/pinch etc. meaning there is no need for scales or other equipment that many student kitchens would not have.
Lots of dishes which are cut down to just one of two servings which is great for students who are often cooking for one.
The meal plans are great! They give an example of how to maximize your weekly shop for various different dishes and I was able to modify these each week to keep to my budget.
Offers information on how to do basic things like boil potatoes/vegetables etc. for those students who have no idea. Each dish is rated in difficulty so students can progress to making some of the more difficult dishes.
This is a really great cookbook that is really thought out well. There are so many ideas that all students could make and I would go as far as saying a student wouldn't need any other book because there is so much variety. However, in some places the cook is cramped and hard to read and the design is a little outdated. I also think it would be useful to have more pictures of what to do for those who struggle with the basics.
All in all this is a really great book, which could do with a little updating in the design but the content is fantastic and really is a must have for all students!
I have been looking for a reasonably priced leave in conditioner spray for some time. I had used the revlon equave spray for a while but it was far too expensive. I was pleased to find this stuff. I am a big fan of the L'oreal elvive brand in general and regularly used the shampoo and conditioner. Simply spray this stuff on wet hair and brush it through to leave your hair feeling soft and shiny.
Price- At around £4 it is a great price and I often buy it on offer at boots which means it's even better. A bottle lasts quite a while so it is fantastic value.
Different types for different hair means that you can buy the one that suits your hair type. I like the one for coloured hair as it helps restore shine to my hair and protects my colour.
Detangles hair easily and makes it alot easier to brush.
It really does work and leaves by hair feeling healthy and nourished. My hair is quite damaged as I dye it often and use heat on it everyday. I have noticed a big difference in my hair since using this product.
Easy to use- you just need to spray a little on your hair and brush it through to allow it to do some magic.
I can't really think of any disadvantages other than if you use too much it does leave you hair feeling slightly greasy but simply moderate how much you use. There is no point in using too much. Just a few sprays is plenty.
I would recommend this to anyone who thinks their hair needs some extra tlc.
Although this product is really cheap, it doesn't taste great and if you are looking for something nice to drink spend the extra 30p on the standard tesco coke, which although isn't the best, is at least drinkable!
The price- at 18p, you can't really buy anything much cheaper. I am a student and when things get tight I buy this to mix alcohol with. Considering you can buy around 10 bottles for the price of a 2l bottle of diet coke, it is really good value.
The disadvantages really do outweigh the advantages.
It tastes pretty bad- I can't really describe the taste other than a pepsi with a really horrible after taste. It really isn't overly pleasant to drink after a while.
I've found it's very fizzy at first, which I don't think is a pleasant thing to drink and then it goes flat really quickly, which again isn't very nice. I have also found it seems to fizz up quite easily when you open the bottle and I have made a mess on a number of occasions with this stuff.
The packaging isn't overly appealing but the plastic bottle is of decent quality and I have reused them a number of times.
This product really should only be bought if you are are on a tight budget and can't afford anything else!
I have been a big fan of this product for a number of years.
It really does make your hair feel alot softer and improves the condition really quickly. I dye my hair alot and blow dry it and straighen it almost everyday and any time I feel it's getting a bit damaged and dry I use a bottle of this stuff and it goes back to feeling healthy and shiny by the time I finish the bottle.
The smell is fantastic. I love washing my hair with it as it leaves the bathroom smelling great and I have often had people ask me what perfume I am using when it is simply this conditioner that they smell.
A little goes a long way as it is quite thick and creamy.
Although it is slightly more expensive than a standard conditioner, it is a lot cheaper than other premium brands (many of which aren't as good!)
The only thing that I don't like about this product is the packaging! The sticker over the bottom always annoys me and for some reason I find it difficult to open mid shower as I have to try and pick the sticker off. It sounds silly but it does annoy me. I also think it is difficult to make sure you get all the conditioner out because the bottle is quite rigid and it seems a shame for some of it to go to waste.
I do like the quirky aussie blurb on the back though and it often makes me laugh as I try to pick the sticker off!
I would recommend this product and think it's a great price for something that works so well!
Malibu is a really nice drink that is quite popular in many bars. It is clear rum based drink with coconut flavours. It is sold in nice white bottles.
Tastes delicious- the fruit flavours are great.
Very versatile- can be mixed with many different fruit juices (cranberry or pineapple juice are popular), can also be mixed with fizzy drinks such as coke or lemonade. Can also be used in various cocktails
Very smooth drink that goes down easily.
It has quite a high alcohol content (21%) but it doesn't really taste like you are drinking something so high . This can be an advantage or disadvantage as it does go to your head quite quickly as it is so easy to drink.
The price- a 70cl bottle is around £15 which is quite expensive and it is even more expensive in bars or clubs and isn't usually included in drink deals so it is expensive to drink all of the time.
High in sugar and calories- a glass of malibu and coke is over 150 calories. This also means that it quickly becomes quite sickly and maybe isn't the best to drink over a long period of time.
Nice drink but best as a one off or occasional treat
