Making a trip every blue moon to the hairdressers to get my ends trimmed is always a nightmare for me. I dread the inevitable telling off I'm going to receive as soon as I've parked my behind in the chair. My hair is pretty darn damaged through overuse of blow-drying and straighteners. I have naturally wild and frizzy hair, which means I have to style my hair using heat if I want to leave the house with hair that looks anything other than the untamed orphan street urchin character it truly is! After my last scolding in the salon chair over my hair being so brittle and fine from damage, I hot footed it over to my favourite bath and body store to see what they could do for me. Since that day, I've never looked back!
If you are not aware of who Lush are (where have you been?), they are a company that produce a vast range of bath and body products that are as eco-friendly and natural as possible. Lush have a strict 'no animal testing' policy, meaning that they do not test their products on animals, nor do they use ingredients which have been tested on animals. Lush are dedicated to using only the freshest and highest quality ingredients in their products. They also work hard to source ingredients that are either fair trade from overseas growers, or locally grown and organic to pack into their luxurious, world and body friendly products. Lush do their bit in being eco-friendly by using as little packaging as possible, and the necessary packaging that they do use is all recycled and recyclable! If you want to find out more about Lush and their mission to keep the world happy, you can visit their website at www.lush.co.uk.
The "American Cream" conditioner is made by Lush, therefore can only be purchased from Lush direct. No other shops stock this product, so please don't go looking for it elsewhere. There are three ways in which you can make a purchase from Lush: in store, online or via mail order. If you are lucky enough to live near a Lush store, you can simply pay a visit to the helpful folks there and pick up this product in store. You will find this "American Cream" conditioner sitting amongst the other conditioners that Lush has to offer in its 'Hair Care' section. If you aren't as fortunate as some of us and don't have a Lush store nearby, do not fear! Lush also have an online web store at which you can purchase all their current available products: www.lush.co.uk. Lush also offer a mail order service, by which you can place an order over the telephone with one of their friendly mail order staff. To speak with one of the mail order team about their products and placing an order, simply call: 01202 668 545.
As far as price goes, I think that a lot of people will be put off initially by how much this product costs, but I can assure you it is worth every penny. "American Cream" comes in three different sized bottles, with three prices to suit (almost) every pocket. The 100g bottle is priced at £4.25, the 250g bottle costs £8.50 and the 500g bottle is £13.50. Obviously, the bigger the bottle you purchase, the more you save. I first purchased the 100g bottle to try this product out, and it lasted me around two months with almost daily use. I then moved onto the 500g bottle as I loved this product so much, and so far it has been in use for over 6 months and I still have around a third of the bottle left. A little of this product really does go a long way!
When I first used the "American Cream" conditioner, I expected it to be a thick and heavy product due to it being a double strength formula, so was greatly surprised when it came out of the bottle with ease. The conditioner is light and creamy, making it pleasant to work with in comparison to other super strength conditioners that I have tried that have had a greasy, thick consistency. The conditioner is a creamy-white in colour and has a smooth texture between the fingers. The product is thin enough to spread and works over the hair with ease, but thick enough to cling to the hair and remain in place without dripping all over the show once applied. I love the consistency of this product as a little goes a long way, meaning that I generally only have to use a blob the size of a twenty pence piece to produce decent coverage for two thirds of my past-the-shoulder length hair.
I'm a little fussy when it comes to how hair care products smell, especially conditioners. As conditioner products cling to the hair and are absorbed, the scent usually sticks around for quite some time after being applied. Nobody wants to endure foul smelling hair, so I'm usually swayed into trying out a conditioner that I wouldn't mind catching a whiff of with every swish of my locks. Imagine, if you will, Lush whipped up the most delicious vanilla cake batter you could ever imagine, and just before putting the batter into the cake cases, they sucked out all the heavenly batter scent and bottled it up. That is exactly how "American Cream" smells. The label on the bottle states that this is a strawberries and cream scented product, but I'm not entirely convinced. The cream part, oh yes, it's all there. The strawberries however, they seem to be lacking. Perhaps the strawberries are just hanging around in the background, being shy and retiring, possibly unwilling to share their sweet berry scent with me. Perhaps my nose just isn't willing to accept anything other than the smell of delicious cake batter. Whatever it is, I don't pick up the strawberry part of the advertised scent at all. Am I disappointed? Hell no! Creamy, deep, rich, divine vanilla scent is enough to make me hand over my dosh and sniff my hair every five seconds after using this product. The best thing about the scent of this product is that it is long lasting and will linger on your locks for at least 24 hours, so go ahead and give your hair a good swish as you pass people by to make heads turn at how delicious you smell. This is the closest you are ever going to get to using a New York cheesecake as a hair product without actually rubbing one on your head, and I'm absolutely fine with that.
Looking through the ingredients list for this product is like reading a shopping list for whipping up a batch of heaven. Vanilla, honey, strawberries, oranges? Yes please! The honey water used in "American Cream" conditioner helps to lock moisture into the hair and also acts as a mild, slow-release antiseptic to treat and heal the scalp. The vanilla in this product comes in two forms - vanilla pod infusion and vanilla absolute. Vanilla not only smells wonderful, but is also a humectant - a substance that helps to retain moisture. The vanilla in "American Cream" will keep your hair smelling delicious, feeling super soft and looking wonderfully glossy. Oranges and strawberries are used in "American Cream" as they are packed full of vitamin C and nutrients which help to cleanse and condition the hair, soothe the scalp and leave your locks tangle free and glossy. Both claryl sage oil and lavender are included in "American Cream" as they are well known for their antibacterial and soothing properties, which will help to calm your scalp and heal any dry or angry spots. All in all, "American Cream" is jam packed full of wonderful ingredients which work together in harmony to nurse your scalp back to health and leave your hair feeling and looking as healthy as can be.
Even though the "American Cream" is a double strength conditioner, you simply use it the way you would any other conditioner product. No extra faffing around is necessary. Once your hair has been washed with the shampoo of your choice and rinsed clean, simply smooth a small blob of this product over your hair and leave it to work its magic for at least 5 minutes before rinsing out thoroughly. In terms of my own personal conditioning routine, I generally only apply conditioner to the underneath and ends of my hair, as those are the driest areas that need targeting the most. I leave the conditioner in my hair whilst doing the rest of my shower routine (generally 10 - 15 minutes), then rinse out as the final act before exiting the shower. I occasionally apply conditioner the top and roots of my hair, around once a week, as I find that conditioning those areas frequently (with any conditioning product) only works against the natural balance of my hair and causes it to become greasy rather quickly after washing.
Once all surface traces of the "American Cream" conditioner has been rinsed out thoroughly, my hair always feels smooth to the touch when still wet and a comb can be passed through with great ease. No tangles here! Even tangles that occur during blow drying are combed out easily and pain free. "American Cream" leaves my hair feeling soft and silky after both natural air drying or with the aid of the hair dryer. The condition of my hair has greatly improved since I started using this product, and my hair is always left manageable and looking glossy after use. Sometimes I find that my hair feels greasy when left to dry naturally after using other conditioning products, but "American Cream" simply leaves my hair feeling light and soft. I did worry that this product would leave my hair feeling heavy and lank due to its double strength properties, but the results were completely the opposite.
Overall, this "American Cream" conditioner is an absolute God send. This is one of my favourite products from Lush, not only because of its delicious scent, but because of how well it works. My hair has been severely damaged over time from hair dye and heated styling which has left it completely wild, brittle, angry and dry. "American Cream" works to soothe and repair my tired, battered locks and nurse them back to health. As I stated earlier, I was seriously surprised to find that this product didn't weigh my hair down or leave it feeling unclean or lank. I have tried many different super strength conditioning products in the past that have left residue behind and made my hair instantly greasy or left it feeling unclean, but "American Cream" avoids this completely. The conditioner softens my hair, leaving it tangle free and strokable. The scent of "American Cream" is another reason behind my recommendation for everyone to give it a go - it is absolutely divine. I'd heard many a great thing about the smell of "American Cream" from various Lush users, and so decided that I would have to pop into my local store and give this product a sniff. As soon as my nostrils were graced with the scent of this product, I was at the till and skipping out of the store door with a paper bag in hand before I could even register what was happening. As mentioned earlier, the "American Cream" conditioner is marketed as a strawberries and cream scented product, but there is a serious lack of strawberry in the actual scent and I am sure some people will be disappointed with this, but it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I use a rather strong smelling Lush shampoo that is hated by most people that catch a whiff of it (it stinks like bonfire, which I rather enjoy) but this cake batter scented conditioner completely masks the stench of my shampoo and leaves my hair smelling edible. My hair is left in a soft and manageable state and smells like cake batter - what more could I ask for?

Trying to squeeze your five portions or fruit and vegetables into your day can seem absolutely impossible, and a bit of a chore. I have been trying to eat and drink a little healthier lately, and realised that I could easily get one of those portions daily by drinking a glass of orange juice with my breakfast. I've been a fan of the Innocent brand since trying their smoothies and veg pots, so when I came across their fresh fruit juices I just had to try them! Ever since that first delicious sip of their smooth orange juice, I knew I would have absolutely no problem getting my five a day underway!
Innocent are a company that believe in producing and selling only natural, delicious, 'as close to nature as possible' products that use no artificial anything. You won't find any additives, flavourings, preservatives or colourings in their products - just fresh fruit and vegetables that have been lovingly turned into wonderfully yummy goodies. Innocent sell a range of smoothies, juices, veg pots and fruit tubes - all of which are simply full of natural goodness. If you're looking for something good to eat or drink that will make your insides happy and help you on your way to your five a day - Innocent are there to help!
This delicious 'Innocent Orange Juice' is definitely becoming easier to find, as it is now stocked in all the large supermarkets. You can purchase this delicious juice from Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Waitrose and Ocado. The carafes of juice can be found in the chiller section of the supermarkets along with all the other fresh fruit juices available for purchase.
Innocent produce two different types of orange juice, both of which contain the same 100% natural, freshly squeezed orange juice, but with a slight difference. The first type of orange juice Innocent sell is 'with bits'. This orange juice contains juicy bits of orange flesh for those that love a bit of texture to their morning glass of the sunny stuff. The other type of 'Innocent Orange Juice' is a smooth version, made to quench the fruity thirst of those of us who absolutely despise having 'bits' in our orange juice. I cannot even bring myself to drink any sort of juice that has 'bits' so I'm absolutely over the moon that Innocent produce a smooth juice to fulfil my needs.
When it comes to having all bases covered, Innocent are right there with their juices on the topic of size too! The 'Innocent Orange Juice' comes in three different sizes, a family size 1.35litre jumbo bottle, a 900ml size bottle and a single serving 330ml bottle. The three different sizes allow you to pick and choose which product is best for your own needs. I personally have been purchasing the 900ml bottle as there is only me in my household that drinks orange juice daily. The 900ml bottle will give you 6 servings of 150ml. The family size 1.35ltr bottle will give you 9 servings of 150ml.
In comparison to some of the other orange juices readily available in supermarkets, this 'Innocent Orange Juice' can seem a little on the expensive size. The large family size 1.35ltr bottle will cost you around the £2.68 mark, meaning a 150ml serving will cost around 30p. The 900ml bottle is priced at £1.99, making a 150ml serving cost around 33p. The smaller, single serving 330ml bottle is priced at around £1.10. Although the juice is quite a bit pricier than other juices, I imagine this is because of the freshness and quality of the product itself. I would rather pay the extra to get a fresh, natural, excellent quality juice than pay less for an artificial, from concentrate, factory made orange juice. It is worth keeping an eye out for these juices being on multibuy offers, as they usually are - two of the family size bottles can be picked up for £4.50 and two of the 900ml bottles can be purchased for £3 when on offer in supermarkets. It is worth stocking up, if you can, when the offers are running, as this juice becomes wildly popular when it is being sold for cheaper than usual!
The packaging for this 'Innocent Orange Juice' is pretty unique and definitely eye-catching, which makes it easy to find amongst all the other orange juices which are mainly packaged in cardboard cartons or regular shaped bottles. Not only is their packaging good looking, but each of their bottles are made from 25% recycled plastic and is also recyclable once you have finished slurping the contents. Innocent sell their orange juice in a plastic bottle-like container which they call a 'carafe'. Each carafe is a rounded oblong shape at the bottom which tapers up into a thinner 'neck'. The carafes are made from a clear plastic so you can see the sunny orange product inside and have a different coloured cap and label on each type of juice so you can distinguish clearly between the two. The 'smooth' juice has a blue cap with a blue colour scheme to the labels and the 'with bits' juice has a green cap and colour scheme to its labels. The front of the carafe label shows the Innocent logo with a picture of an orange and states the type of juice it is. The back and sides of the label give information about Innocent, the ingredients in the product, the nutritional information and a picture of a type of animal (my last carafe had a picture of a bear) with a humorous caption.
As soon as you lay eyes on this 'Innocent Orange Juice' on the supermarket shelves you can see the wonderfully golden orange colour enticing you from within. On first look I just though that this was the colour of the bottle, but the bottles are made from a clear plastic to showcase the wonderfully bright juice within. Once you pour yourself a glass of this 'Innocent Orange Juice' you will be surprised to see that the juice stays true to form & is as golden and sunny in the glass as it is inside the container. It's refreshing to find a product that looks appetising without any artificial help and looks as good as it tastes!
The smell of this 'Innocent Orange Juice' is apparent as soon as the lid is unscrewed. This juice has a fresh, distinct orange scent without any of the added sickly sweetness that comes with cheaper or from concentrate juices. I do find with some of the cheaper or less 'natural' juices that they have an artificial scent about them, overpoweringly sweet and chemically. This 'Innocent Orange Juice' avoids all of that, being fresh and inviting to the nose and having a 'real' orange scent - a little sweet, a little tart, a lot refreshing!
When it comes to taste, this 'Innocent Orange Juice' outshines all the rest. I have tried many different types and brands of orange juice, from the painfully expensive to the ridiculously cheap, and this 'Innocent Orange Juice' is the best. If you're looking for an orange juice that is as close to squeezing and crushing oranges to obtain the juice with your own bare hands - this is it! Innocent have done all the hard work for you so that you can enjoy the simple, fresh, deliciously natural taste of their orange juice without any additives, preservatives, colourings or other meddling things. The juice has a fresh orange taste that is sweet and tart, exactly like it is from a fresh orange. If you haven't tasted the real juice from an orange before you may be surprised that is isn't as sweet as you have been used to from your other shop bought orange juice. Cheaper and 'from concentrate' juices use sugar and sweeteners to improve the flavour of their juice, but Innocent do not. Innocent use 100% fresh orange juice in their juice products, so you can be sure that you are tasting the real deal. This 'Innocent Orange Juice' is natural tasting with a distinct orange flavour which is both sweet and tart, a smooth texture in the mouth and a refreshing experience for your taste buds!
In my opinion, Innocent juice is the best you can buy. Yes this product is expensive compared to some of the other orange juices you can buy from the same supermarkets, but I'd rather pay the extra to know that my juice has not been altered in any way. By buying this 'Innocent Orange Juice' you can be sure that the juice you are drinking is 100% natural with no additives, colourings or extra nasties, and has never been re-made from concentrate. This juice is the freshest, smoothest, most delicious orange juice I have ever had the pleasure of drinking and I would certainly recommend it to everyone. I've gone through a good half a dozen bottles of this orange juice in the past couple of months and have never had any problems with it. The juice may taste every so slightly different from bottle to bottle but this is only to be expected as the oranges change with the seasons. I can imagine some people may not like the juice as they are used to drinking the artificially sweetened, made from concentrate juice that is much cheaper to purchase in the supermarkets, but this 'Innocent Orange Juice' is the real deal - 100% orange with no alterations. I've tried plenty of different orange juices in the past, even having the terrible, sugary sweet, made from concentrate juice from time to time, and tasting this 'Innocent Orange Juice' for the first time was a real surprise to find that oranges do not taste so sugary! If you want to taste the most natural, freshest, close to nature, most delicious orange juice that you can buy without squeezing it yourself by hand, then get out there and buy this 'Innocent Orange Juice'. I honestly cannot recommend this product enough!
900ml - 11 juicy oranges (100% orange juice)
Family size 1.35ltr - 17 juicy oranges (100% orange juice)
Single serve 330ml carafette - 4 juicy oranges (100% orange juice)

Starbucks is probably the best known coffee company in the world. The logo is instantly recognisable and the ridiculously long queues that trail out of the shop door during the morning and lunch time rush let you know that their popularity is incredible. I'm not a fan of coffee in the slightest, but Starbucks do offer their customers a range of non-coffee products so that we coffee dodgers don't miss out. Recently Starbucks have started to produce special products which are available to purchase outside of their stores in supermarkets and have been created so that you can enjoy the Starbucks experience at home or on the go. This "Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino Drink" is one of them.
If you fancy giving this "Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino Drink" a whirl, there are two places that you will find it. The first being in Starbucks stores. Even though Starbucks already have a vast menu of custom made drinks, they also stock a small range of ready bottled beverages such as fruit juices and waters for those that don't fancy a coffee. Starbucks have added their very own "Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino Drink" to the range of bottled beverages in their chiller, so if you live near one of these world famous coffee shops you can pick up your fix there. The second place that this "Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino Drink" is available is at your local supermarket. I have seen this product stocked in both Tesco and Asda, in both large and small stores, so if you don't have the delight of having a Starbucks on your street corner, you can pick up this product on your weekly shopping trip.
A 250ml bottle of this "Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino Drink" will set you back to the tune of £1.68. To me this seems fair in terms of this product being part of the Starbucks range, but a little on the hefty side for the amount of beverage you actually get. Looking at the flashy glass bottle the milk is packaged in, I can see why the price is so high. As a customer you are clearly paying for the brand name and the rather swish packaging, rather than the quantity/quality of the product within.
So what exactly is this "Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino Drink" and what is it offering us as a consumer? At first, I was tricked into thinking this "Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino Drink" was a milkshake, purely because it carried the 'Frappuccino' name. To me, a milkshake is thick and creamy. This product certainly is not. This is definitely more in the category of 'flavoured milk'. Once you have taken away the posh outer packaging, the product within is simply strawberry flavoured, pink coloured milk. To put it simply, this "Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino Drink" is strawberry milk for image conscious grown ups!
The outer packaging of this "Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino Drink" is what first attracted me to this product. I'm the dream of marketing managers everywhere! The pink, strawberry flavoured milk is housed inside a rather swish looking transparent glass bottle through which you can see the product within. The front of the glass bottle is printed with the Starbucks logo which stands out proud in all its green glory on the supermarket shelves and so is easily to pick out. The front of the bottle states what the product is, whilst the back of the bottle is printed with a brief description of the product and the nutritional information and ingredients list. The bottle looks absolutely great and feels expensive in your hand. However I can't help but feel that the glass packaging is a little impractical and is why the price for this product is over the £1 mark.
To look at, this "Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino Drink" has all the makings of strawberry milk. It is a pastel shade of baby pink in colour which is exactly the first thing that springs to my mind whenever I think of strawberry milk. Whilst inside the glass bottle, the drink looks pretty swish and attractive, but once poured out of the bottle into a glass/beaker/cup (whatever drinking receptacle takes your fancy) this drink loses all its flash attractiveness and looks just like any other strawberry milk. I did notice that upon pouring this drink, the texture is rather thin. Certainly more of a milk drink than a milkshake. To me, milkshakes are thick and creamy, whereas this milk drink is thin and what I can only describe as 'watery'. When I use the term 'watery', I would liken the texture to that of skimmed 0.1% fat milk. I was expecting for this "Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino Drink" to be a little thicker, but the thin texture of the drink is acceptable and makes it both lighter and more palatable when on the go.
Most strawberry milk drinks have similar scents which are all on the same 'artificial, chemical strawberry' playing field. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this "Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino Drink" had a welcoming and fresh scent that had a hint of 'real' strawberry about it. It's all too easy for strawberry drinks to have that headache-inducing, sickly sweet, 'fresh from a factory' smell, but this product didn't carry any of this and instead offered a pleasant and attractive fruity scent. I wouldn't go as far as to say that this "Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino Drink" smells like a freshly made strawberry smoothie, because this simply isn't the truth, but the smell of the drink is certainly appetising in comparison to some its competitors.
One of the first things I would associate with Starbucks is 'quality'. When purchasing a Starbucks drink, freshly made by a barrister in their store, I can always guarantee that the taste will be perfect and the quality will be high. When purchasing a Starbucks product outside of their store, I would still expect for the quality to be up there with their store made drinks. Firstly, I will say that the taste of this "Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino Drink" is pleasant and fresh. Unfortunately, I wouldn't go as far as to say that it is delicious or exceptional. The drink does have a fresh and milky taste, but certainly not creamy or rich. The strawberry flavour is light and tasty, without being too sweet or too sickly. A plus for this "Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino Drink" is that it avoids carrying any chemical or artificial flavour, which is common amongst strawberry flavoured milk drinks. The flavour of this product is nice, but only that. I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase this product based on flavour.
My opinion of this "Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino Drink" is split, as some of the 'cons' rather outweigh the 'pros'. On the positive side, the product has a fresh strawberry flavour which lacks the usual artificial taste that comes with most other strawberry flavoured drinks. The flavour of the drink is pretty nice and I don't really have any complaints on the taste front, but I will say that the texture of the drink seems a little thin. In terms of the 'cons' of this product, my biggest negative is that I do feel a little ripped off. It appears I am paying premium price for thin strawberry flavoured milk simply due to the brand name attached to the product and the outer packaging. Although the product looks fancy and carries the prestigious Starbucks name, the flavoured milk inside is something of a let down in terms of the price. Another 'con' of this product is that the 'Frappuccino' part of the "Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino Drink" bares no relation to the 'Frappuccino' product that they sell in their stores. This has left me a little confused as to why they chose to sell this drink under the 'Frappuccino' product name. In Starbucks stores, a 'Frappuccino' is a blended ice and milk beverage with your chosen flavour added, much like a grown up slush. However this product, also branded as a 'Frappuccino' product is simply flavoured milk. I do think Starbucks have made a bit of a mistake with naming this product after a product they already sell, as the two products are nothing alike. Customer confusion is bound to happen! It did for me, and it still boggles my brain now! I was expecting a lot more from Starbucks when I purchased this product, but unfortunately they fell a little short on delivering their usually exceptional drinks.
Although I did enjoy the flavour of this "Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino Drink", I won't be in a hurry to splash out the full RRP for it again. Unfortunately, the product size and quality does not match up to the premium price charged, so I would hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking for a decent, filling, well priced strawberry milk drink. Although the product may look good and carry a superb brand name, the stuff within, albeit tasty, isn't really worth the premium price.

Sometimes the only thing that can make the weight of the world melt away is a good, long soak in the bath. I'm a shower girl, through and through, and my daily cleansing routine sees me hitting the shower for at least 30 minutes. However, when I need time to myself, a little relaxation and a chance to clear my head - a soak in the bath is the only answer! Every now and again I treat myself to a Lush product to share my rare bath time with - they seem to have a product to suit every mood, and this "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic" seemed the perfect choice to help soothe my stressed head and help my worries drift away.
If you're not aware of who Lush are, what they do, or what sort of products they sell - you are greatly missing out! Lush are a company that make and sell a whole variety of bath, shower and body products which are all 100% vegetarian and most of which are vegan friendly too! Lush strive to provide the world with the most beneficial products made from the best quality ingredients which are ethically sourced and earth friendly. Lush try to use as little packaging as possible to do their bit on being 'green' and this is why you will find that quite a lot of their products are 'naked' in store - their ballistics, bubble bars, solid shampoos, bath melts & other goodies come free from packaging. If you are interested in finding out more about Lush and what they do, you can visit their website at www.lush.co.uk.
This "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic" is produced by Lush, therefore is only available to purchase direct from them. However, this specific ballistic has been retired from physical Lush stores, so you will not find it in your local haunt. The "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic" is still available to purchase through the 'Retro' range on Lush's official website, or via their mail order service. If you would like to purchase this item online, you can do so by visiting www.lush.co.uk. Lush also provide a mail order and telephone order service which you can purchase the "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic" through by simply visiting their website to download the mail-order forms, or calling 01202 668545 to speak to a helpful Lush employee about placing an order over the telephone.
If a soak in the bath with this "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic" takes your fancy, you may want to consider the costs first. The ballistic itself is priced at £3.30, which does make it one of the more expensive ballistics that Lush produce. Due to this product only being available through their Retro range that is only available online or via telephone/mail order, there will be a postage charge attached to purchasing this product. I do think that purchasing this bath ballistic alone would be too expensive for just the one use once postage has been added, so I would advise that you add this "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic" to your next larger order from Lush to make it worth the cost.
To look at, this "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic" is rather simplistic compared to some of the other wild and wacky looking products Lush sell. The ballistic is the typical ball shape, generous in size and a powdery white in colour. Towards the top of this "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic", there is a thumb size hole in the ballistic, inside which the purple interior of the product can be seen. The top of the ballistic is also imprinted with the Lush logo, so you can be sure that the product you are receiving is genuine. As I said, this specific ballistic is rather simplistic looking in comparison to the other products available, and I imagine this means that the "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic" is overlooked quite often in favour of the more brightly coloured and bold looking ballistics. Do not be put off by the minimalistic outer visage of this product - the beauty and magic lie within!
The smell of this "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic" takes me way back to my childhood as it greatly reminds me of parma violet sweets. Even though I've never liked the taste of parma violets, the smell has always been appealing. This "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic" has a sweet, violet-y scent that is strong and heady when sniffed directly from the solid product. I did worry that the scent would be overpowering, heavy and somewhat sickly once dissolved in the bath, but this was not the case. The strong scent of the physical product melted away once in the water, turning into a light and airy floral scent, mixing the violet fragrance with notes of sandalwood and ylang ylang, which soothed my mind and helped to relax my body. The scent is definitely more subtle and gentle once the "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic" has fizzled away in the hot bath water, so do not be put off by how strongly the ballistic smells before use.
In terms of ingredients used within the "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic", Lush only uses the finest and best quality that they can find. The sodium bicarbonate is not only what makes the bath ballistic 'fizz', but also helps to soften the water as it dissolves. The soya milk used in this particular ballistic is included for its softening properties also. The geranium oil and ylang ylang not only add to the wonderful floral fragrance, but also act as a balancing agent to help to clear your skin and keep it looking its best. Violet leaf absolute is used for its cleansing properties, and also to give this product its most wonderful scent. The mix of sandal wood, ylang ylang and violet create a fantastic, soothing fragrance which helps to calm the mind and relax the body. This "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic" has been put together with all the ingredient components needed to send you off into a world of your own as you are soothed during your soak.
Using the "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic" is a complete doddle. As with all ballistics, they are meant for use in the bath. Trying to use this product in the shower would be something of a great disappointment. Firstly, run yourself a bath full of wonderfully hot, soothing water and prepare yourself to be relaxed as you soak. Simply pop the "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic" into your ready-run bath water and watch it fizz and swirl before your very eyes in the water. Wait for the ballistic to completely dissolve into the water and then climb into your tub for a long and relaxing soak. Ballistics are probably the easiest to use and certainly the most fun of all the bath products Lush sell. Watching the ballistic fizzle and dance in the water, releasing it's lovely lilac colour and lustre sparkles, is somewhat hypnotic with the bath water turning from its regular translucent shimmer to a milky, lilac coloured heaven of relaxation.
This "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic" will turn your bath water a lovely, subtle shade of light lilac with a slight shimmer from the super fine, tiny lustre sparkles and a milky white silken foam will rest on top of the water. Not only does this certain ballistic give off a soothing floral scent to relax your whirling mind and release the tension in your muscles, it also softens the bath water to give you the most delightful soak in the bath you will have had in a long time! The milky white foam which lies on top of the water is silky and will leave your skin kissably smooth whilst the softness of the water beneath will lovingly soften your skin and leave you feeling divine.
Once out of the bath, my skin felt wonderfully soft and smooth with no greasiness or residue left behind from the product. The fine lustre sparkles did cling to my skin as I removed myself from the tub, but this was more of a fun bonus than a downside to the product. I know that some people dislike the fact that Lush use glitter in some of their products, but the lustre used in this "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic" is so fine and tiny that it only adds something of a slight shimmer to your skin and can be brushed off easily during your drying off routine. The scent of the "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic" did linger for a short while on my skin, but didn't last for more than an hour or so. Even though the product in its solid form does have a strong smell, the scent is definitely more subtle once fizzled away in the bath, meaning the fragrance left behind on the skin is only gentle and 'barely there'. It's a great ballistic to use for a 'before bed' soak in the bath, as the fragrance helps to relax you and is gentle enough on the skin to soothe you to sleep without giving you a headache like some of the heavier ballistic scents do.
Overall, I think this "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic" is worth the expense as a special treat, but only when purchased as part of a larger order from Lush. If this item was still available in stores, I probably would treat myself to it a little more often, but as it is only available through the mail which adds on the cost of postage, I'm afraid it is only ever a 'now and then' treat. I do enjoy the effect the ballistic has on the bath water, turning it a lovely lilac shade with a silky creamy top, and I think the super fine lilac lustre adds a bit of fun to the mix. This "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic" softens the water beautifully, even the terribly hard water that I get living in the Midlands, and I found that my skin was wonderfully soft once I tore myself out of the bath. I am prone to getting terribly dry skin, generally almost immediately after exiting the bath or shower, but my skin was left soft enough to slip straight into my pyjamas without the need for moisturiser after taking a bath with this "Ne Worry Pas Bath Ballistic". The violet, floral fragrance of this product probably won't be to everyone's taste, but I myself thoroughly enjoyed it and found that it helped to relax and soothe me. I have lots of trouble sleeping, but using this ballistic before bed helped me to relax and unwind my mind before getting a good nights sleep.

If you want to give yourself the best start to the day, eating a balanced breakfast is key. We're told this quite frequently on tv and in magazines, but sometimes it seems rather impossible to sit down and eat in the morning. Hectic schedules and early starts mean that a lot of us skip breakfast, but what if there was a way to eat a healthy breakfast on the go which will give you the boost you need right through until lunch time? Well there is - in the form of Belvita breakfast biscuits. Whether you're looking for a quick and easy option for breakfast on the go, or need a snack to throw in your bag that will keep you going - Belvita is for you!
So what are "Belvita Fruit & Fibre Breakfast Biscuits"? Well, if you currently undergo a hectic morning schedule, or you've ever found yourself rushing out of the door without time to sit down and eat, you'll realise that breakfast is certainly an important part of the day. Missing out on eating breakfast can really have a negative impact on your day, your eating habits and your health! "Belvita Fruit & Fibre Breakfast Biscuits" have been specially created to help ensure we all get a decent, healthy breakfast, even if we do not have time to sit down and eat it first thing in the morning. The ingredients in the biscuits have been chosen to release energy slowly and keep you fuller for longer, meaning your breakfast is beneficial for your body and cuts out those mid-morning cravings for convenience, junk food. In a nutshell, "Belvita Fruit & Fibre Breakfast Biscuits" are the saviour of busy mornings!
You can purchase "Belvita Fruit & Fibre Breakfast Biscuits" from all good supermarkets including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Waitrose. You can also pick these biscuits up in smaller convenience stores such as The Co-op and Spar. As this brand has grown in popularity, more and more shops seem to be stocking the biscuits. The Belvita range of breakfast biscuits can be found in the same aisle as the cereals, cereal bars and other 'healthy' breakfast snack options.
Like most other breakfast products, these "Belvita Fruit & Fibre Breakfast Biscuits" don't come cheap. They are priced at around £2.20 per box, which does seem quite a lot when you look at the size of the box. Each box contains six individual portions which work out at approximately 37p per serving. I do think that paying 37p for a healthy breakfast/snack that contains beneficial nutrients and will keep your hunger sustained until lunch time or between meals is definitely worth it in my opinion. That said, it is worth keeping an eye out for the Belvita range of products being put on offer, as I picked up a couple of boxes on a 2 for £3 promotion in Tesco which significantly reduces the price!
These "Belvita Fruit & Fibre Breakfast Biscuits" come packaged within a tall, slender, brightly coloured cardboard box. If you're looking for these in the regular biscuit type packaging of a thin plastic wrapper then you're not going to find them! The outer cardboard box packaging reminds me greatly of a miniature breakfast cereal box, which suits this product perfectly. The box for these "Belvita Fruit & Fibre Breakfast Biscuits" is predominantly yellow in colour with the Belvita text logo spread large across the top of the box in green. The front of the box features a large picture of the biscuits themselves along with a smaller image of a cup of coffee and a glass of orange juice. The biscuit flavour is made easy for you to tell apart as each flavour has a different coloured banner running across the bottom of the box upon which the flavour is written. This makes it easy to differentiate between the flavours when in a hurry to do your shopping! The front of the box also gives the 'nutritional information at a glance' and states that each box contains six packs of four biscuits. The back of the "Belvita Fruit & Fibre Breakfast Biscuits" packaging gives the back story of the product, information on how the biscuits can help keep your fuller for longer after breakfast, the full nutritional information, ingredients list and company contact information.
Inside the outer packaging, these "Belvita Fruit & Fibre Breakfast Biscuits" are packaged into separate portions of four biscuits within a plastic wrap. I do think the individually wrapped servings of four biscuits are a fantastic idea, as it allows for portion control. If you're like me and are weak in saying 'no' to yourself when it comes to snacks, these individually wrapped portions will serve you well as they stop you devouring half a box of biscuits without even realising. The individual serving packs are also handy for throwing in your handbag or coat pocket for breakfast on the go or to act as a snack for later in the day. Having the portions individually wrapped for me means I can control my intake of calories and fat, and can also have a healthy breakfast or snack in my bag or pocket for whenever I don't have time to sit down and eat. Perfect!
Upon opening the individually wrapped portion of biscuits, a wonderfully sweet yet wholesome smell will meet your nostrils. As the "Belvita Fruit & Fibre Breakfast Biscuits" are baked, the scent of the slow cooked oats and wheat in the biscuits give a lovely 'homely' smell. It is a very comforting and tempting smell all at the same time. The fig in the biscuits adds a subtle sweetness to the biscuit scent which is both inviting and delicious. I wouldn't say the fig gives off a distinctive 'fig' smell, but simply one of sweet, fruitiness that you can't quite put your finger on, but know you want to enjoy it! I do think the smell of these biscuits is very inviting, and certainly made me want to devour all four of my single serving in seconds.
When I first scanned through the flavours of the Belvita range, I was a little put off by the 'Fruit & Fibre' variety as the 'fruit' part of the flavour is in fact fig. To be honest, the closest I've ever come to eating a fig is via a fig roll biscuit, which I do actually quite like, however I can imagine that 'fig' being the fruit of choice may certainly put some people off trying these biscuits, as it did me for a split second. However, I decided to quash my initial snap judgements and give them a go, and was definitely pleased that I did once I had tucked into a full serving of the biscuits! These "Belvita Fruit & Fibre Breakfast Biscuits" have a lovely baked taste, very wholesome and more-ish. I suspect this is due to the slow baking process and the oats and wheat in the ingredients. The sweetness of the fig definitely shines through the wholesome oaty flavour of the biscuit and rounds the taste off nicely. If you weren't already aware that the biscuits contained fig, you probably wouldn't be able to pinpoint the type of fruit used in the biscuits, as it simply adds a lovely sweet 'fruity' flavour. I suspect a lot of people mistake the fig in these biscuits for raisins, as the colour of the fruit and the appearance throughout the biscuit would look pretty similar. The fig also adds a lovely chewy texture which is very welcome against the crunch of the oats and wheat. The biscuits do have an overall sweet flavour to them, which is certain to please any cravings for sugary snacks, and they definitely work towards curbing my urge to binge on bad foods.
Overall, my opinion of these "Belvita Fruit & Fibre Breakfast Biscuits" is one of positivity. Getting a healthy breakfast, especially on the go, is almost impossible these days. These biscuits are a welcome part of my morning routine when I don't have time to sit down and eat my usual cereal or toast. They also double up nicely as a mid-afternoon snack when the hunger pangs strike between lunch and tea time. Nibbling on these "Belvita Fruit & Fibre Breakfast Biscuits" satisfies my sweet tooth but also soothes my conscience as I know that these are packed full of wholegrain goodness, vitamins and are low in fat so my healthy eating regime won't be compromised. I thoroughly enjoy the crunchy texture that these "Belvita Fruit & Fibre Breakfast Biscuits" have, and the flavour is just the right amount of biscuit-y and fruit-y. I was a little put off at first as the chosen fruit that these biscuits contain is fig, however once I tried my first biscuit - I was hooked! I wouldn't say that there was a distinct fig flavour, just a delicious sweetness that has a 'fruity' taste. I'd recommend these "Belvita Fruit & Fibre Breakfast Biscuits" to anyone that finds it difficult to eat a healthy breakfast or anyone that is looking for something healthy to snack on during the day. These biscuits make a great 'handbag snack' - just chuck a packet in your bag and forget about them until you feel your tummy grumbling! I'll certainly be buying these biscuits again (when they're on offer, mind). I'm giving these breakfast biscuits four out of five stars, purely due to the high price this product has when not included in any sort of price promotion or offer. I love the product itself, but the RRP is somewhat offputting.

Don't worry, you haven't been mistaken, this Lush product is not of the edible variety. Unfortunately, Lush has certainly not started selling baked goods in their stores - but they sell something which is almost as good as the real thing. Whilst browsing the Lush website online, I came across their range of fresh face masks. I hadn't used a face mask in years and thought this sounded like a splendid way to treat both myself and my skin. I was immediately drawn to the face mask which shared its name with a delicious baked treat and knew that I had to get myself to my nearest store to make a purchase!
I'm sure there are a few people out there that are not aware of Lush or what they do, so I'll take this moment to fill you in. As a company, Lush produce a whole range of products for the bath and body that are as natural, eco-friendly and fun to use as possible. Lush do not test their products on animals and do not purchase ingredients from anyone that tests on animals either. Lush only test their products on humans, and do their (rather large) bit in the battle against animal testing. Lush use only the freshest, best quality and fairest ingredients they can. Lush strive to source fair trade, locally grown and organic ingredients to pack into their healthy, luxurious and animal/world/skin friendly products. Lush try to use as little packaging as possible to remain as eco-friendly as possible - and the little packaging they do use is all recycled and recyclable! If you want to find out more about Lush, you can visit their online website at www.lush.co.uk.
If you would like to purchase this "Lush Cupcake" face mask, you will only find it in Lush stores, so don't go looking anywhere else! If you're lucky enough to live near to a Lush store, you can simply pop in and pick up your face mask. The fresh face masks are all kept together on a bed of ice to keep them chilled - if you're having trouble finding them in store, simply ask one of the very helpful members of staff and they'll be sure to point you in the right direction. If you don't live near to a Lush store, they also offer the option of an online web store, mail order and over the telephone sales. To find your nearest Lush store, visit their web store or find details on how to place an order via mail, you can visit their official UK website at www.lush.co.uk. To speak to a Lush employee about placing a telephone order, you can get in touch with them on 01202 668545.
The price of this "Lush Cupcake" face mask may be somewhat of a shock if you are used to purchasing small packets of face mask products for less than a pound. A 75g pot of this product will cost you £5.25. When looking at the size of the pot, this does seem rather expensive for what it is, however each pot will give you a minimum of six full face masks. This works out at around 88p per use, which isn't so bad after all and is quite possibly cheaper than most other face masks out there.
By now you may be wondering what the heck "Lush Cupcake" is. Well, to put it simply, it is a face mask that is made from the freshest and most delicious ingredients to help pamper and treat your skin. Lush sell a small range of fresh face masks which are made from wonderful, fresh ingredients to help combat problematic skin and breathe new life into your face. Their fresh face masks are just that - fresh! These masks are made from ingredients which need to be kept chilled to stop them spoiling, and have a three week time limit on them before they expire. According to Lush, this "Lush Cupcake" face mask is perfect for oily or teenage skin. However, I am no longer a teenager, and have combination skin, and this face mask still works wonders for me!
When it comes to packaging, Lush try to keep things to a minimum. Their fresh face masks come packaged in plain black pots - nothing fancy, but certainly nothing to be sniffed at either. There is a plain black label on the side of the pot which states in the trademark Lush white font what the product name is, what it is used for and the luxurious, fresh ingredients list. The pot is fitted with a screw on lid which also bares a plain black sticker on the top and the Lush white font stating the product name, what it does and ingredients list. The packaging may be minimal and nothing fancy, but it is what is concealed inside this outer packing that counts! The good thing about these black pots is that they can be recycled and turned into new black pots. Lush encourages you to bring your black pots back to their store to be recycled by offering a fantastic incentive - for every 5 clean, empty black pots you bring back, you will receive a free fresh face mask!
In all honesty, the look of this "Lush Cupcake" face mask can be quite off putting at first glace. Imagine someone scooped up a fresh cowpat and packed it in a black plastic pot, and you're pretty much there! As the main ingredient in this product is Rhassoul mud, and with the addition of the cocoa powder, this fresh face mask takes on a thick, mud-like consistency and is a medium to dark brown in colour. Certainly not something you'd want to slap on your face if you weren't aware that it was a face mask! Don't let the appearance of "Lush Cupcake" put you off though, the mask is a breeze to use, has instant results and your skin will certainly thank you for it.
The smell of this "Lush Cupcake" face mask is certainly what sealed the deal for me in store. A mixture of chocolate and mint is the aroma that this face mask gives off - certainly far from unpleasant. Imagine the mouth watering scent that wafts from a freshly opened box of After Eight mints and you've hit the nail on the head. The cocoa and mint ingredients used in this fresh face mask are what produce such an inviting, delicious fragrance. I've read a few reviews on this product in which the reviewers have said that the mask smells like dirt or is unpleasant - this is certainly not the case with the numerous pots of this product I have tried. If you do purchase a pot of "Lush Cupcake" face mask that does not smell absolutely delicious, like a platter of After Eight chocolate mints, then please do return it to your Lush store, as they are always more than happy to replace any products you are not completely happy with.
Using this "Lush Cupcake" face mask is really very simple. It is used the same way as any other face mask and doesn't require any difficulty at all. Firstly, you need to make sure that your face is clean. Remove any make up and give your face a good wash to get rid of any grime or dirt that may be laying in wait on the surface, and then pat dry with a towel. Scoop a small amount of the face mask from the pot at a time and apply in a fairly thin layer. The face mask is very thick but smoothes onto the skin with ease. Do not be tempted to apply a huge, thick layer, as only the product in direct contact with the skin will have any benefit to you, the rest is simply a waste! Apply the thin layer of "Lush Cupcake" face mask to your skin, being careful to steer clear of the eyes, nostrils and mouth. Once your have applied the mask to your entire face, simply leave the mask to work its magic on your skin for 5 - 10 minutes before rinsing off with clean, warm water. I do like to leave my mask on for a good 10 minutes, until it has almost completely dried and my face feels toned. Even if the mask has completely dried onto my face, massaging it gently with warm water using my finger tips always bring it away with ease.
Storing this "Lush Cupcake" face mask correctly is very important to keeping it fresh and prevent it from spoiling. The face mask has been made with fresh ingredients that require a chilled temperature to avoid them 'going off'. Between uses, keep your pot of "Lush Cupcake" in the fridge. The pot isn't very big, so won't take up much room, and won't interfere with any of your food products. As long as you keep your face mask chilled when not in use, the mask will last for three weeks. Remember to check the 'use by' date on the sticker on the bottom of your pot to make sure your mask is still good to use. I will say that I have used my "Lush Cupcake" face mask a few days after the official 'use by' date, and it has been absolutely fine. Upon first opening of the pot, and between uses, you may sometimes find that there is a brown, watery residue on the top of the face mask. This is absolutely normal and should just be mixed back into the face mask using your finger before use.
As far as ingredients go, you can always count on Lush to choose the freshest and most beneficial ones for your skin. Rhassoul is a Moroccan mud which is known for its high concentrations of magnesium, iron, sodium, silica, potassium and calcium which help to detoxify the skin. The drying action of the Rhassoul mud helps to draw out impurities in the skin and rid your face of excess sebum, dirt and oil as it is washed away. Although this mud does dry upon the skin, it also has moisturising properties which will leave your skin feeling soft and smooth after use. The linseed infusion, cocoa butter and cocoa powder in this fresh face mask not only make the product smell delicious, but also act as softeners, leaving your skin supple and stroke-able after use. Peppermint, spearmint and sandalwood oils are used to help balance the skin and regular the oils produced, as well as giving a wonderfully tasty scent! Every ingredient included in this face mask is there for a beneficial reason, working towards giving you a soft, spot free face to be proud of!
In my opinion, this "Lush Cupcake" face mask is absolutely wonderful. At first I was a little taken back by how pricey the mask was, especially for the size of the pot. £5.25 is a lot to pay for a face mask, but I don't mind handing my hard earned money over when I know the ingredients are all natural and good for my skin, and the pot will last me a good three weeks time span. This "Lush Cupcake" face mask does need to be kept chilled in the fridge, this is no bother or hassle, as it takes up hardly any space at all. I love the texture and the smell of this mask, and find that a little goes a long way. There is definitely enough product in one of these small pots to give coverage for at least six full face masks. I will point out that for the first two uses of this face mask I did have red spot break outs pretty much straight after, but this is due to the ingredients drawing out the impurities in my skin. If you do use this product and have a break out, don't let this put you off - it's doing you good! Once I have washed this product from my skin, my face looks smooth, clear and matte, and feels soft, supple and bump free. Having been using this mask frequently since January, I have definitely seen an improvement in my skin and my spot count has definitely decreased. I would now always choose to purchase this fresh face mask over a cheaper, synthetic product, as I know that the ingredients in this "Lush Cupcake" face mask are much more beneficial for me, my skin and the environment than a 99p packet face mask could ever be!
Rhassoul Mud, Linseed Infusion (Linum usitatissimum), Glycerine, Talc, Cocoa Powder (Theobroma cacao), Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao), Fresh Mint (Mentha piperita), Sandalwood Oil (Santalum austro-caledonicum vieill and Fusanus spicatus), Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla planifolia), Spearmint Oil (Mentha spicata), Peppermint Oil (Mentha piperita), *Limonene, Perfume.

My biggest hobby and passion in life is baking. I love to bake - be it cakes or brownies or cookies or whatever else springs into my mind. I was lucky enough to receive a Kenwood mixer from my Mum a few years ago for Christmas. This mixer comes with all sorts of other kitchen appliances that attach to it.- juicer, blender, blitzer. It's something of a beast! At times, it is somewhat impractical to drag this big silver machine out to whip up a recipe that only requires minimal effort. This is why I decided to purchase an electric hand whisk. During a trip to my local Asda, I found this "Russell Hobbs 14451 Hand Mixer" at a decent price and decided to take the plunge and make a purchase. As a basic electric hand mixer - this has served me well!
As with all products, the price of this "Russell Hobbs 14451 Hand Mixer" is completely dependant upon where you make your purchase. After looking online, it seems that this "Russell Hobbs 14451 Hand Mixer" sells for anywhere between £13 and £20. I purchased my "Russell Hobbs 14451 Hand Mixer" from my local Asda store a few weeks ago and paid £13.77, which I believe is an acceptable price for this mixer. It pays to shop around, so do a little searching before you purchase to find the best deal.
I purchased my "Russell Hobbs 14451 Hand Mixer" from my local Asda store, which is only a very small Asda outlet, and I've seen this mixer stocked in the larger stores too. You can also purchase this "Russell Hobbs 14451 Hand Mixer" from Comet and online from www.amazon.co.uk. I'm sure there are a whole host of other online retailers that stock this mixer, and a quick internet search would provide you with the websites.
The "Russell Hobbs 14451 Hand Mixer" comes packaged in a fairly simple cardboard box. The outer sides of the box all show the same design, the main focus being a large photograph of the mixer inside. The background of the box has a black and grey colour scheme and states in large letters that this is a product by Russell Hobbs and the name of the product 'hand mixer'. The packaging is pretty basic as far as design goes, but it does show you a good clear image of the product within, meaning that you don't need to get the mixer out of the box to see what it is you're buying. The mixer comes in pieces inside the box, with the beaters being detached from the main body of the mixer. There is also an instruction booklet inside the box which shows how to assemble the mixer and gives instructions on how to work the mixer and the different settings. There are also a couple of recipes within the instruction booklet to get you started.
To look at, this "Russell Hobbs 14451 Hand Mixer" has a very simple and minimalistic look. The mixer is a plain white in colour with smooth edges, meaning it will sit well in any design of kitchen, no matter what your colour scheme is. The Russell Hobbs brand name is printed on the side of the mixer, but only in rather small writing and in a pale grey shade font meaning it isn't very noticable or in your face. The beaters are made from chrome and therefore have a shiny metallic finish. The design of this mixer is very much 'no frills' - no fancy design, no garish colours and no multitude of confusing buttons or attachments. The handled of the mixer is rounded and smooth, which makes it very comfortable to use for both left and right handed bakers. The hand mixer itself is pretty lightweight in comparison to other mixers I have used before, meaning that your arm is less likely to ache whilst mixing if following a lengthy recipe. I do like the simplicity of this mixer, and think that the minimal look of the product works to its advantage and the light weight feel of the mixer means I can whip up a batch of cookies or a cake without feeling like I've gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson.
When it comes to power, the "Russell Hobbs 14451 Hand Mixer" packs a pretty mean punch. The mixer comes with a 125W motor, which allows the mixer to power through 6 different speeds with ease. The motor is powerful enough to beat thick batters with no problems, but after reading the instructions manual I was a little surprised at the warnings given. The manual states that the mixer should not be used for more than three minutes at a time to avoid overheating and breakdown of the motor. At times, this can be rather unhelpful as a lot of batters and frostings call for being mixed for five minutes. I do sometimes slip over the three minute mixing time by accident, but I wouldn't purposely mix for a long time just in case the mixer decided to blow up in my face!
This "Russell Hobbs 14451 Hand Mixer" only has one control button, which I do like as it means there is no fiddling or confusion when it comes to using this product. The button is placed towards the top of the handle of the beater, situated directly below where your thumb will sit when holding the mixer in use. The one button acts as an on/off switch, a speed control and a release for the beaters all at once. The mixer is switched on by flicking the control slider from 0 to any other number position. The mixer is turned off by moving the speed control back into the 0 position. Please make sure that the speed controller is placed at the 0 position before and after use, as you can get quite a shock if your plug your mixer in with the speed already set, only to have it whizz into action straight away without you realising! To control the speed you simply flick the control switch between the numbers, from 0 to 6, depending on how fast you want the beaters to mix. To release the beaters once you have finished use simply press the speed control button in firmly and the beaters will pop out of their secured holes.
The two beaters that are included and attach to this "Russell Hobbs 14451 Hand Mixer" are made from chrome. This wouldn't be my first choice for a beater material, as I have heard that chrome can be somewhat temperamental over time and stainless steel holds up much better. However, I will say that despite the shiny metallic silver finish and the lightweight feel of these chrome beaters, they are yet to disappoint. Although the beaters have hardly any weight behind them, they do not struggle with even the thickest of batters or dough that I have tested them against. The beaters are very easy to attach to the mixer, simply needing the ends to be pushed into the available holes until they click into place. Releasing the beaters after use is also just as simple. The speed control button acts also as a release button for the beaters when pushed firmly in. I've had no problems with the beaters coming loose during usage from accidental pressing of the release button, however I can see that his may be possible if the button were accidentally pushed hard enough due to the placement of the release button beneath the thumb.
The "Russell Hobbs 14451 Hand Mixer" has an electrical cord that measures 1.5 meters. This certainly comes in handy if your electrical plug sockets are located in less than useful places around your kitchen like mine are. It also allows you to move around your kitchen more freely if you need to shift from one job to another. I do like the generous length of the power cord, and find that it doesn't get in my way at all when in use. When not in use, the mixer has been designed with added ridges to the bottom end of the product to allow for the power cord to be wrapped around and kept in place during storage. I do like this feature, as it means that the cord stays in place once I have put the mixer away in my cupboard, however I do find that the plug has a habit of escaping and taking some of the power cord with it at times as there is no way of attaching the plug to the mixer or the cord to keep it in place.
Cleaning this "Russell Hobbs 14451 Hand Mixer" is really simple. You can wash the chrome beaters in warm, soapy water to remove any of the ingredients, batter or dough from them. I find that the beaters wash up really easily and do not look streaky or cloudy once cleaned. The main body of the mixer must not be immersed in water at any cost, as with all electrical appliances! You can either give the body of the mixer a wipe down with a damp soapy cloth or a cloth dampened with your favourite kitchen cleaner. I tend to use antibacterial kitchen cleaning wipes to get any muck or dirt off my mixer, purely for peace of mind and ease of use. Again - please don't go chucking the entire mixer into your sink or dish washer, as both of these options will end badly!
I will say here that this "Russell Hobbs 14451 Hand Mixer" is not without its flaws. There are a couple of things about this mixer that are somewhat of a letdown. The first flaw in this product is that the mixer doesn't seem to know what 'slow' is. Although the mixer has six different speeds to choose from, these speeds only range from moderately fast to very fast. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground with a medium speed setting, and a slow setting is completely out of the question. Setting '1' should, in theory, be the slowest setting, however with this mixer the first setting available to you is pretty damn fast. This may not be a problem to most, but if a recipe calls for anything to be mixed on a slow or medium speed, I'm afraid I'll have to pull out my faithful Kenwood mixer.
There is, unfortunately, another downside to this mixer that I have discovered. Most people would probably say that it isn't really a big deal, but it irritates the heck out of me because every time I use this "Russell Hobbs 14451 Hand Mixer", I forget about the flaw, but am swiftly reminded, which ends in me cursing a lot! The flaw this hand mixer has is that it is too 'top heavy' to stand upright on the work top and always topples over, making a huge mess when the batter covered beaters make contact with the worktop. The 'back' of the mixer is flat and smooth, allowing it to be sat down whilst not in use. However, the top end of the mixer which holds the beaters is too heavy to allow the mixer to sit upright and causes it to tip over every time the mixer is set down. This is something of a frustration for me, as between mixing, whilst adding other ingredients to the bowl, I always set the mixer down on its end. I have a strong belief that this flaw was rather overlooked by Russell Hobbs. Although it is possible to sit the mixer on its end with the beaters resting over the top of the bowl, this is not always practical, so I have to make do with the cakey beaters resting on the work top. Ugh!
Overall, I would say that this "Russell Hobbs 14451 Hand Mixer" is a decent buy for the price. The mixer does its job without any sort of struggle, but does have its flaws. The mixer is rather lightweight which means it can be used for lengthy periods of time without causing any severe arm ache, however the instructions of this mixer state that the product should not be used for more than three minutes at a time to avoid the product overheating. This time limit on the length of use for the mixer can cause some small problems when recipes state that mixing times should be longer than three minutes. The "Russell Hobbs 14451 Hand Mixer" is both easy to use and clean, and is small enough to be stored away with ease. The price I paid for this "Russell Hobbs 14451 Hand Mixer" seems pretty fair for the capabilities and brand name of this product, and in general I am pretty pleased with how this mixer has worked for me. My baking efforts are only on a personal scale and the jobs I need this mixer to do are not strenuous or overexerting. That said, if I were thinking of using a hand mixer for serious, regular or professional baking purposes I would definitely splash out on a more efficient and sturdy hand mixer that comes with stainless steel beaters as standard. This "Russell Hobbs 14451 Hand Mixer" has so far served me well and not let me down, however with the cautions inside the instruction manual warning not to use the mixer for more than three minutes at a time, I do not live in hope that this handheld mixer will last me a lifetime. In my opinion this mixer, despite its flaws, gets the job done and is worth the low price tag it carries, however I would suggest that if you are looking to be using a handheld electric mixer on a regular basis, you invest a little more money into a more reliable and capable mixer.

In terms of shoes, I'm really not so much of a 'girly' girl. I'm only rather short in height, yet I live in flat shoes because high heels simply do not agree with me (aka: I'm too lazy to learn to walk in them). I flat out refuse to wear trainers, the kind that are white in colour and clearly aimed at the sporty types. They make my small feet look hideously clunky. I tend to veer towards the edgy 'sport' type shoe. I lived in a pair of Vans skate shoes for quite some time, but once they had been worn to within an inch of their life, I decided it was time for a change. A lot of my friends were wearing Converse brand shoes, so I decided to give them a go. I haven't looked back since!
You may hear "Converse All Star Hi Top" shoes being referred to as a few different names - 'converse' and 'cons' are self explanatory names, but these shoes are also referred to as 'chucks' or 'Chuck Taylors'. These two names are related to the background history of where these shoes originally came from. In 1908 the Converse company was founded by Marquis Mills Converse in the form of a rubber shoe factory located in Massachusetts, USA. Converse started out only making galoshes and seasonal shoes, but 9 years later began to produce sporting shoes. Their Converse All Stars shoe was a big hit with basketball players, one young player in particular, a Mr. Chuck Taylor. Chuck was so impressed with the basketball shoes that they became his shoe of choice, which led to the boom in popularity for the Converse brand. Converse hired Chuck Taylor as a spokesperson and took onboard a lot of his ideas for improving the shoe. This lead to his signature being added to the brand logo patch on the shoes and the nickname 'Chuck Taylors' or 'Chucks' being adopted by many of the Converse shoe fans.
Finding your self a pair of "Converse All Star Hi Top" shoes is becoming less and less difficult with every passing year. More stores are choosing to stock the Converse brand as they have simply exploded in popularity over the last decade - enough to be available in pretty much all the high street shoe store retailers (the big chains that is). You can find Converse in sporting shops such as JJB, JD and All Sports, as well as high street shoe stores such as Barratts and Schuh. I'm sure there are plenty more, as a lot of independent shoe stockists are choosing to host the Converse brand as they are a popular seller. A whole host of online retailers stock Converse branded shoes; you simply need to do a quick Google search which will provide you with a long list. My most trusted online stockists for purchasing converse shoes are www.amazon.co.uk and www.schuh.co.uk.
The price for a pair of "Converse All Star Hi Top" shoes can vary quite a bit due to the vast variety of the designs and the huge amount of retailers that stock Converse products. The price you pay for your pair of "Converse All Star Hi Top" depends entirely on the style you choose and the shop you make your purchase at. Generally, you can pick up a pair of plain, one coloured canvas Hi Tops for anywhere between £15 - £30. You can expect to pay more for the patterned or decorative Hi Tops, usually up to around £65, completely dependant on the style, whether they are limited edition, and what fabric has been used to produce them. Limited edition "Converse All Star Hi Top" shoes can be retailed for anywhere up to £100. It pays to shop around, as one store may be selling your chosen style for more or less than another store, and online retailers may provide even better value. Do some research on prices before diving in if you want to grab a good deal!
The shape of the "Converse All Star Hi Top" shoe has become something of an easily recognisable style. There is certainly a lot of 'copy-cat' brands and stores out there trying to replicate the style, but Converse are the original, and in my opinion, the best. The shoes get their 'Hi Top' name from the fact that the upper part of the shoe is in fact 'high' on the leg. The upper of the shoe rises to an inch or so above the ankle, providing strength and support to the ankle and foot whilst being worn. The shoes lace straight up the front, with the laces criss-crossing one another across the tongue through the row of eyelets that line either side of the upper part of the shoe. Each pair of "Converse All Star Hi Top" shoes comes stamped with the famous 'Chuck Taylor All Stars' logo - something of an iconic image in the shoe industry, which allows you to tell an original pair of Converse apart from a replica, lesser brand. The majority of the "Converse All Star Hi Top" collection is produced with a thick, white rubber sole and has a white rubber toe cap piece over the front of the shoe (although some exceptions are made in certain designs where the sole/toe cap matches the colour/design of the shoe).
I think a lot of people that first come across these "Converse All Star Hi Top" style of shoe are mislead into believing that these shoes are only for males, or only suitable for those that play sports, specifically basketball. This is certainly not the case, as "Converse All Star Hi Top" shoes are very much a unisex shoe that can be worn by absolutely anyone. They have fast become the popular shoe for both young men and women from their teens into their early 30's. Even though shops will separate the 'male' and 'female' styles, I don't personally believe there is really any difference. If a guy wishes to wear a pair of baby pink Hi Tops - so be it! If a woman wishes to wear a pair of Hi Tops printed all over with the Batman logo - why not! Even though shops do tend to separate the designs into male and female categories, there's nothing stopping you from branching out and wearing whichever pair you want from either of the divided 'sex' collections (provided they supply the shoes in your size that is).
In terms of colour, "Converse All Star Hi Top" shoes have a vast and interesting array of colours and patterns available. Their plain, single colour shoes span pretty much every colour of the rainbow. I myself own a purple pair and a neon pink pair. My girlfriend owns pairs coloured in lilac, navy blue and white. Whatever your favourite colour is - Converse will have a pair of Hi Tops to match. Some of the single colour "Converse All Star Hi Top" shoes come with a pair of contrasting colour of tongue or laces to add to the diversity of their design. "Converse All Star Hi Top" shoes also come in a range of patterns too. From animal print to geometric shapes to logo prints to flags - Converse have a pattern print for every occasion. From time to time the Converse company also collaborate with other designers, musicians, celebrities, movies or TV shows to create a limited edition run of a related print or colour way. These can range from a spray painted band logo which covers the entire side of a shoe, to an all over comic book print. In a nutshell: "Converse All Star Hi Top" shoes have been designed to get you noticed! If you love bright colours, have a favourite style of print, or simply need some smart-casual work shoes - Converse can kit you out!
To begin with, "Converse All Star Hi Top" shoes were only manufactured with a canvas upper, and these will be the styles you see most commonly on the shelves in stores. For a long time this was the only fabric upper available from Converse, however in recently years the company has shaken up their manufacture of the shoes and now have a few more options and styles under their Hi Top belt. As well as canvas, you can now purchase "Converse All Star Hi Top" with leather, suede and wool fabrics used as the upper of the shoe. Whichever fabric style you choose, you can be sure that it is of the best quality and will be hard wearing, as Converse is known for their exceptional quality when it comes to shoe production.
The sole of "Converse All Star Hi Top" shoes are all made from a thick, sturdy rubber, which makes these shoes particularly comfortable and long lasting. Due to the generous depth of the sole, the shoes provide great support, especially when walking on uneven or stony surfaces. No pain from feeling every stone beneath your feet here! The rubber sole is also very flexible, which means your feet are free to bend and move in any manner they like without being restricted or made uncomfortable. The sole is certainly long lasting, as my two year old pair is still going strong with no signs of the sole wearing dangerously thin or any holes beginning to appear. I think the soles of these shoes are possibly the best I've come across, they've certainly lasted much better than any other sporting shoe I've owned before.
The only slight downside to these shoes lies with the sole. Although the sole is generously thick, flexible and comfortable, it provides absolutely no grip what so ever on slippery surfaces after a while. I find that the grooved tread on the bottom of the rubber soles wears down very quickly and leaves you with no sort of grip or friction to keep your upright on wet or slippery surfaces. I'm always cautious about walking upon wet floors when wearing my Converse as the lack of grip means you're likely to slip. I made the mistake of wearing my Converse many times during the bout of snow/ice we had over winter - big mistake! It was like trying to walk on an ice rink, with every few baby steps taken mounting to a heart stopping skid across the pavement. This is ultimately the only downside to the shoes, and I imagine that the tread wears down quickly due to the rubber material used for the sole. If this small problem could be overcome, or even stalled, in some way, these shoes would be perfect!
In my opinion, "Converse All Star Hi Top" shoes are absolutely fantastic. The vast variety of colour ways and designs available to purchase and the varying price scale means that there is definitely a pair of shoes out there to suit everyone. From their original plain colour canvas to their limited edition themed designs, Converse has it covered. I currently own two pairs, but wouldn't say no to a few more (if only my bank balance would stretch to it!) I do think that they are a worthy investment, even though they can be a little pricey - this does depend on where you make your purchase and which pair takes your fancy - but they aren't as expensive as a lot of other trainers out there are! The shoes are hard wearing and long lasting, so they're worth paying the extra for. I've had my original first pair now for over two years and they're still going strong, even though I wear them most days when venturing outside. I will say that "Converse All Star Hi Top" shoes look their best once they have been 'worn in'. A new pair of Converse straight out of the box looks much too pristine for my liking - after you've splashed in a few puddles, walked a few miles and gotten them a little grubby, their charm and character will shine through! In my opinion, "Converse All Star Hi Top" shoes are for everyone, whether you're young, old, female, male, sporty or not - the comfort, style and longevity of these shoes make them perfect for all!

I've tried a few Lush products before, but I've only very recently become somewhat of an addict. I say addict, but my budget doesn't really stretch to such great lengths, so I have to ration my usage! I'm a cautious, careful, penny-watching addict! 2011 has fast become to year where I treat myself & 'look after' myself more - meaning I get to spend a little of my pay day money on bath and body treats for myself. This "Lush Happy Blooming Bath Melt" was one of the small gaggle of products I skipped out of the shop with on my January pay day, and I've fallen rather deeply in love with it!
For those of you out there that are not aware of Lush, who they are, or what they do..here is a little back story. Lush are a company that produce a whole range of bath and body products that are as natural, eco-friendly and fun to use as possible. Lush do not test on animals, only humans, and do their bit in the battle against animal testing. Lush use only the freshest, fairest and best quality ingredients they can get their hands on - sourcing fair trade, locally grown and organic ingredients to cram into their healthy, luxurious and friendly products. As a company, Lush strive to use as little packaging as possible to remain as eco-friendly as they can - and the little packaging they do use is all recycled and recyclable! Need I give you any more positive reasons to shop at Lush? I didn't think so!
As the name suggests, this "Lush Happy Blooming Bath Melt" is only available to purchase from Lush stores. If you are lucky enough to have a store in your nearest town, you can visit them direct. The bath melts are all grouped together and will be in the same area as the other 'bath' products such as bubble bars and bath ballistics. The staff are always happy to help and recommend products to you - so have a chat with them if you're unsure of what you want or where to find it. You can also purchase online from their webstore at www.lush.co.uk. Lush also provide a mail order and telephone order service too - simply visit their website to download the mail-order product list forms, or call 01202 668545 to speak to a Lush employee about placing a telephone order.
The current price for this "Lush Happy Blooming Bath Melt" is £3.70. This may seem rather expensive for something you simply melt into your bath water, however I will say that it is worth every penny. As the product is designed to be broken into three, you get three individual uses out of this one bar (that is, unless you are specifically indulgent and like to use more than one segment in each bath). This works out at £1.23 per bath - that's certainly more acceptable. The fact that this one bar can be broken into three makes it rather great value for money in comparison to pretty much all other Lush products.
To look at, this "Lush Happy Blooming Bath Melt" is like something from a cartoon sweet shop. It is approximately 4 inches in length, a little under an inch thick, semi-circular in shape and weighs in at 65g. The bath melt is a gorgeous mid-strength pink in colour and looks very much like a large, half circle shaped crayon. The semi-circle has two grooves moulded into its shape to indicate where the product should be broken to obtain 3 individual pieces for your 3 bath times. On each segment of bath melt there is a sweet little image of a pair of 3D cherries moulded into the product. The texture of the product reminds me very much of a crayon, the chunky kind bought from the Early Learning Centre in novelty shapes meant for the very young, as everytime I pick it up I can envisage myself putting it to paper and drawing like a child. The bath melt feels rather smooth and maybe a little wax-like with a 'buttery' surface, as the heat from the hands can begin to melt the outer edge of product quite easily.
The smell of this "Lush Happy Blooming Bath Melt" is what immediately drew me to purchasing this product. There is something that I can't quite put my finger on. Something joyous. Something heavenly. The scent of this "Lush Happy Blooming Bath Melt" is most definitely cherry. So sweet and enticing. There is something almost candy-like to its fragrance that immediately makes me think of the Bassett's 'Cherry Drops' sweets that I used to crunch through as a child. The scent reminds me greatly of the sort of cheap 'faux' make up that was aimed at young girls in the 1990's - it smelled so wonderfully of synthetic cherry and stained your mouth a garish pink. It smells almost playdough like, the kind I used to make at home with my Mum from scratch. The kind that I would hold up to my nose and inhale deeply because it smelled so damn good. One sniff and I am instantly taken back to the happy moments of my childhood, playing 'house' with my barbies and smooshing candy scented fake lipstick into my Tiny Tears' eye sockets. The cherry scent of this "Lush Happy Blooming Bath Melt" is simply something to behold. Something to cherish with every sneaky sniff you steal from within the bag you store it in. I really cannot begin to tell you how absolutely delicious this cherry scented bath melt smells - you simply need to experience it for yourself.
Firstly, in terms of ingredients, I will point out that this "Lush Happy Blooming Bath Melt" is both a vegetarian and vegan product. This means that there are no animal products or derivatives used in this product and therefore it is suitable for everyone to use, no matter what sort of lifestyle you follow. Lush only use the freshest, best quality, and ethically sourced ingredients within all of their products - so you already know you are onto a winner before you even start to check the individual product listings. This "Lush Happy Blooming Bath Melt" is predominantly calamine, with a whopping 50% of the product being made up of this one single ingredient. Calamine is best known and most widely used for its soothing properties as it acts as an anti-pruritic (anti-itching agent) which calms and comforts the skin. It is also known to be a mild anti-septic, which can help to heal any current irritations or dry spots your skin may have. Cocoa Butter is used in this bath melt for its fantastic moisturising abilities which are superb at combating dry, itchy or irritated skin. Ylang Ylang is known to have a whole host of wonderful benefits including softening the skin and balancing the skins moisture, treating PMT and other mood swings, treating palpitations and high blood pressure, and soothing the nervous system. All of the ingredients used in this product are there to help relax and soothe you, whilst moisturising and softening your body. For the full list of ingredients used within this product, see the bottom of this review.
Using the "Lush Happy Blooming Bath Melt" is really simple. At first I was a little dubious about bath melts as a product, as I was not familiar with them. The sales assistant in my local Lush store was more than happy to demonstrate how to use this product, and I was surprised at how little effort the product takes! To use this "Lush Happy Blooming Bath Melt", simply run yourself a lovely warm bath and pop a segment of the product into the hot water. The bath melt will slowly dissolve and release all its lovely scent and colour into your bath water with no effort from yourself. That's really it! Whether you choose to drop the bath melt in whilst the water is running, or swirl it around in the water once you are in the bath - it's completely up to you. I prefer to pop my bath melt under the running hot water, as this sets the product off melting quickly and disperses the product evenly throughout the water. I like to watch the pink colour from the bath melt swirl tantalisingly through my bath water as the product melts mercilessly beneath the incoming flurry of hot water. It's rather mesmerising!
After the "Lush Happy Blooming Bath Melt" has completely dissolved in the warmth of the bath, the water will have turned a wonderfully light dusky shade of pink with a swirl of white, fine foam-like residue on the top. I love the colour the bath water turns when using this bath melt - a very vintage and almost milky shade of pink that makes the water somewhat opaque. Once in the bath, the water feels wonderfully soft, with much thanks to the huge amount of calamine used in this product. I will say that the water has something of an oily feel to its surface, but this is due to the natural oils from the ingredients and is nothing to worry or feel negative about - it's doing your skin a world of good! I have seen a mass of reviews forcing a lot of negativity on this product due to the 'oily' or 'greasy' texture of the water, however I really don't see this as being anything other than positive. The use of cocoa butter, passionflower seed oil, freshly juiced passion fruit and ylang ylang oil will add up to the slightly oily texture you will feel within the water and on the skin whilst in the bath, but this is certainly a positive and is beneficial to your body. The softness of the water and the gentleness of the ingredients allows you to relax and enjoy the warmth of your bath, knowing that your skin will be soft and happy once it's time to get out.
The scent of the product once dissolved is nowhere near as strong as sniffing the bath melt direct. However, I will say that most people will find this a positive as I'm not sure many people could cope with such a strong, cherry, candy-like scent through an entire bath (but I could!). Once the bath melt has disappeared into your bath water, the scent is present, but gentle. I love the smell of this product and found it to be very relaxing, as the individual scents from the essential oils and fruits were combined in the steamy vapours from the bath tub. I am a fan of sweet and candy-like scents, so this product is definitely a winner for me. If you aren't generally too impressed by the sweeter scents of Lush products, I wouldn't necessarily instantly pass this "Lush Happy Blooming Bath Melt" by. The scent from the full, unmelted product is certainly strong. However, once a single third of the product is dissolved within the warm bath water, the scent given off is rather light and relaxing.
I will also add here that, with much thanks to the softening and smoothing essential oils used in this product, I find it very easy to shave my legs when using this "Lush Happy Blooming Bath Melt". I simply wait until I have relaxed and enjoyed my bath time enough and then shave my legs before I hop out of the bath. The cocoa butter and calamine that have been released from the product into the water soften and smooth the shortest of hairs, and the essential oil ingredients help the blades of a razor to glide with ease over the skin. It's certainly the easiest and most moisturising shave I've ever had and I had no irritation, shaving rash or burn after I had exited the bath (as I am prone to having when using regular shaving gel).
Once out of the bath, this "Lush Happy Blooming Bath Melt" leaves my skin feeling soft and silky. I was worried about it leaving an oily or greasy film on my skin but there was no residue left behind at all. Sometimes I have to 'shower off' after taking a Lush bath to remove the excess oils and residue from my body, however this was not the case at all with this product. My skin tends to start to dry out as soon as I step out of the bath/shower, but with this "Lush Happy Blooming Bath Melt" my skin feels wonderfully soft and smooth with no dry or irritated patches once out of the bath and dried off. This bath melt is made up of 50% calamine which is certainly evident with how calm, soothed and soft my skin was left feeling after taking a bath with this product. I'd certainly suggest anyone that suffers with dry or irritable skin to try this "Lush Happy Blooming Bath Melt", as the calamine will work wonders on soothing any chap, flakiness or irritation you suffer with.
The delicious cherry scent of the "Lush Happy Blooming Bath Melt" definitely lingers on the skin for quite some time after leaving the bath. I will say that the scent is only very faint, a million miles from the strength of the scent emanating from the original product itself. You really don't need to worry about anyone trying to nibble your arm off as they mistake you for a cherry scented candy during a hazy flashback from their childhood. The sweet and seductive cherry scent is faint, yet present, and lingers sweetly on the skin, giving you just a touch of delicious perfume to your skin. I do find myself having the odd sniff of my forearms every now and again once I have toweled off and carried on with my day. I can't seem to resist the scent of this product!
Overall, I think this "Lush Happy Blooming Bath Melt" is an absolute treat! I've fallen in love with it, in fact I've taken quite some time writing this review as I have had to keep stopping to steal a quick sniff from the yellow Lush packet that my melt is contained in. The scent is something to rejoice over. Such a sweet, candy-like, cherry scent that immediately draws me back to the happy times of my childhood. It also makes me want to visit old fashioned, back street sweet shops & run down independent petrol stations in search of those old Bassett's 'Cherry Drop' sweets. Mmm! This bath melt is certainly a bargain, as you get three uses out of one melt. The price does come across as a little over the top at first, but if you can restrict yourself to only using one third of the bar at a time (which is really all you need!), you're getting more than your money's worth! This has easily shot to the top of my current Lush favourites list - so easy to use, smells divine and leaves my skin feeling wonderfully calm and soft. There really isn't anything to dislike about this product. I'm so happy my favourite Lush sales assistant suggested this bath melt to me, as I wouldn't have taken the plunge otherwise. If you're new to Lush or on a budget like me, and want super soft skin that smells sweet and satisfying - I'd advise you to give this "Lush Happy Blooming Bath Melt" a go.

When it comes to buying work shoes, I seem to always choose the ones that fall apart within a matter of weeks. I only ever wear flats to work, and after having purchased two pairs from Dorothy Perkins and paying over the odds for them, I was very disappointed when they fell apart on me within a matter of weeks. Being desperate for a replacement, I had a look around the clothing section on a trip to Tesco and found that they were selling flats from their Florence & Fred collection. I pondered over purchasing them for a moment, then saw the price and instantly popped them into my basket! Now, 6 months later, they are still on my feet and going strong!
These "Florence & Fred Flat Pumps" are only available to purchase from Tesco stores. Florence & Fred is the clothing range that is produced by and sold in Tesco stores. Please don't go looking for these anywhere else as you won't find them. Not all Tesco stores have a clothing department, so you may wish to check with your nearest store before setting out. I purchased my pair from a large Tesco Extra store which has a vast clothing department. You can also purchase a selection of the Florence and Fred collection online via the Tesco website at www.clothingattesco.com.
When it comes to price, these "Florence & Fred Flat Pumps" are an absolute steal. A regular pair of flats from a high street shop would generally set you back somewhere around the £15 mark, with most being much more expensive. These "Florence & Fred Flat Pumps" from Tesco are priced at a very reasonable £5 a pair. It's easy to say that these shoes are an absolute bargain!
"Florence & Fred Flat Pumps" come in a small range of different colours. During my visit to Tesco they were carrying red, silver, black and blue suede versions of these pumps. I'll admit that these "Florence & Fred Flat Pumps" are nothing fancy - just a plain, minimal looking flat shoe with no decoration or design on the outer side. I like this, as it means I can wear mine to work, to formal occasions, or as casual shoes too. The minimal outer look of these pumps mean they are suitable for all occasions and makes them very versatile.
Shoes are a difficult things to judge when it comes to size, especially with my oddly sized feet (one is a little bigger than the other..ugh!). My feet generally enter the shoe size world at a size UK 5 or a UK 6 in shoes that run a little on the small side. I can never be sure which size I will be, so trying shoes on is the only way I can make a good judgement. My feet fit into a size UK 5 in these "Florence & Fred Flat Pumps" without the toes being pinched or blisters being caused. For me, this is a sign of a good shoe! The size is true to life and is roomy enough to be comfortable, but fitted enough to not fall off my feet as I walk.
The upper part of these "Florence & Fred Flat Pumps" is made from either a man made faux leather, or a man made faux suede - depending on which colour way you go for. The upper material is soft to the touch and rather flexible when worn, meaning the shoes are comfortable from first wear, and cause no blisters or irritation to the feet. I found that the softness of the man made faux leather on my pair of "Florence & Fred Flat Pumps" has meant that the shoes have molded easily to accommodated my slightly wide feet and have not pinched or hurt me at all. The upper of the shoe is plain in colour and has no decoration or fancy add ons - just a simple, smart looking flat.
The inside of these "Florence & Fred Flat Pumps" is lined with a printed fabric that is both soft and comfortable on the feet during wear. The fabric is printed with an all over swallow bird design, which I think adds a nice touch to a somewhat rather plain looking pair of shoes. Most pumps I've owned have either not been lined at all, or have been lined with a thin layer of the same man made leather as the upper, which can cause the feet to sweat and become uncomfortable. I really do like the fact that these pumps are lined with fabric, as it makes them much more comfortable to wear and it helps me to avoid my feet becoming clammy.
Some of the more expensive flat pumps I've owned (cough - Dorothy Perkins - cough) have had such a non-existant sole that I am crippled simply walking down my street whenever I wear them. These "Florence & Fred Flat Pumps" have a slimline rubber sole which doesn't look like much from the outside, but when wearing these pumps I've had no problems at all. The sole is adequet enough for me to not feel every single stone, lump and bump in the pavement beneath my feet. I've had no problem walking on all sorts of textured surfaces (the up hill road to my work is cobbled and had plenty of broken and loose stones, for example) with these "Florence & Fred Flat Pumps" which is amazing, especially for the price. There is a small 'heel' on these shoes - I use the term heel very loosely as it only measures around 5mm thick and is rather wide and flat to the back end of the shoe. This 'heel' makes no difference to the feel of these shoes when worn, or to my height! I'd say it was more there for aesthetic purposes rather than boosting height.
In my opinion, these "Florence & Fred Flat Pumps" are absolutely fantastic, especially for the price. It's not often you come across such a good quality bargain in terms of shoes. For £5, I couldn't say no! In all honesty, at first I wasn't really expecting these flats to hold up for long, after I had paid over £20 for a pair from Dorothy Perkins, only for them to fall apart after a few weeks on me. I've had my pair of black "Florence & Fred Flat Pumps" for over 6 months now and they're not showing any signs of wear or disintegration! Hooray! The flats are a true to life size, an amazing price, come in a range of colours and are comfortable to wear all day long - what more could you ask for? I'd definitely suggest these flats to anyone that wears flat shoes for work and/or leisure, as the overall look can fit both situations and can act as casual or formal. These "Florence & Fred Flat Pumps" are certainly a must have, even if they're just acting as a back up for your regular shoes!
What do you mean you've never heard of a Zebracorn? Everyone's heard of a Zebracorn! Right? Okay, so maybe not. But the name is rather intriguing, isn't it? These beautiful multicoloured flats are based on a design created by Iron Fist known as the Zebracorn. It's quite simple really - cross a zebra with a unicorn, and what do you get? A Zebracorn of course! Then, mix into the works the creative minds and alternative edge of the Iron Fist crew and you get these daringly vivid rainbow coloured stripy flats that will grab the attention of anyone with eyes! I spotted these flats in the Schuh sale and instantly fell in love - with both the design and the price. What isn't to like about vibrantly bright coloured animal print shoes? I'm a girl! I'm allowed to love such crazy things without question!
The Iron Fist brand was created by two friends in America from a love of art, music, street culture and all things that are seen as 'not the norm'. Iron Fist had grown in size and popularity since its creation in 2001, and is now hugely popular with anyone that loves something a little different, alternative and edgy. Iron Fist as a company started with the creators selling hand made merchandise out of the back of a car, and now their products are being sold worldwide in all manner of independent and chain stores, boutiques, online web stores and in their own Iron Fist flagship stores. Iron Fist produces a range of clothing, shoes and accessories for men, women and children alike. If you dare to be that little bit different, check them out at www.ironfistclothing.com.
These 'Iron Fist Zombie Stomper Flats' can be purchased directly through Iron Fist, or from a selection of shoe stores and online web stores that have been chosen to stock Iron Fist products. Selected high street shoe stores here in the UK stock a small selection of Iron Fist shoes, the biggest and most well known being Schuh. I purchased my "Iron Fist Zebracorn Flats" from the online Schuh web store at www.schuh.co.uk.
These "Iron Fist Zebracorn Flats" have an RRP of £24.99. For a pair of designer brand pumps, I think this price is pretty damn good! The majority of the Iron Fist shoe collection is fairly priced, and you can pick up a shoe bargain for sure. Currently, Schuh are carrying a selection of Iron Fist shoes, and this pair in particular has been slashed in price and are currently retailing at £14.95. I bagged my pair for this price, it was impossible to resist such a tempting bargain. I do think they are worth it at their original retail price, but if you can get them for anything less - dive right in!
As far as outgoing shoes are concerned, these "Iron Fist Zebracorn Flats" break the mold. These shoes are definitely not for those that wish to blend into the crowd and stay away from the limelight. I've seen plenty of plain black and white zebra print shoes before, but nothing like these! The design of these "Iron Fist Zebracorn Flats" is made to look like zebra print which has been sprayed using a can of spray paint. The black upper of the shoes is broken up by zebra-like stripes of multicolour, with one colour fading into the next. The plain black parts of the shoe are uneven in print and have coloured 'speckles' in them to make the spray paint effect more realistic. The colours included on these shoes are: pink, purple, blue, green, yellow and orange. These colours instantly make me think of being little and looking at the jars full of brightly coloured sherbets behind the counter in sweet shops. For this reason, I would describe this colour scheme as 'fizzy'. Sort of like a sudden, unexpected slap in the face followed by a super sweetness that is hard to describe. These bold colours fade from the darker shades at the front to lighter shades towards the back. The spray paint effect adds a really edgy touch to these shoes, making them look almost DIY in design.
Size wise, I do find that Iron Fist flats, as a rule, run a little large. I usually wear either a UK 5 or 6 in shoes, and so I purchased a size UK 5 in these Iron Fist flats. When they arrived, I was quite surprised at how roomy and loose they were, considering my feet are generally in between sizes. I tried on a size 4 in these flats but they pinched me at the toes. I stuck with the size 5 but have had to insert an insole into the shoes to make them fit more snugly. I will say, on a more positive note, that I have pretty wide feet, and these shoes were more than accommodating, with no rubbing, pinching or irritation from the shoes. If you're looking to purchase a pair of these flats, I would advise you try them on first to ensure you have the right fit.
The upper part of these "Iron Fist Zebracorn Flats" is made from a faux leather type material which isn't thick, but also isn't on the thin side. The man-made upper is soft to the touch and rather flexible, meaning that there is no rubbing, pinching or pain caused by these flats even from first wear. The softness of the upper means that the shoes mould to your feet much quicker than a regular firm pair of shoes, making them instantly comfortable to wear and leaving your toes and heels blister free!
The sole of these "Iron Fist Zebracorn Flats" is made from a slim rubber type material, which on first inspection doesn't look like much at all. The sole isn't generously thick, but I will say that it is definitely substantial enough to avoid feeling every lump and bump beneath the feet as you walk. The upper fabric of the shoe is stitched right through to the bottom of the sole with a lilac shade of purple thread which makes a lovely girly contrast against the black rubber of the sole. Due to the slimness of the sole, I don't believe these "Iron Fist Zebracorn Flats" will last forever, but after getting them for a bargain price I don't mind so much, after all I'm sure they'll keep me looking snazzy right up until they fall apart.
Not only are these "Iron Fist Zebracorn Flats" patterned on the outside, but they design carries through to the inside of the shoe too! The inside of the shoe and innersole are both printed with the swirling spray paint effect rainbow colours, black stars and an image of the legendary 'Zebracorn' itself! As for the inner sole of these "Iron Fist Zebracorn Flats", well it's pretty nonexistent in terms of thickness. However, that said, this does not make the shoes uncomfortable. There is no cushioning or padding beneath the foot, just a flat piece of faux leather like printed material. This is the only downside to these shoes. I can't see these flats being very comfortable for those that suffer with a lot of foot pain or need added cushioning in their shoes for support. For me, it would be nice to have some padding beneath the foot, but this is purely personal preference, and after getting these shoes at the bargain price of £14.95 I can't really complain! I've cured the problem myself by inserting a pair of insoles into the flats - this way I get added comfort and a snugger fit.
In my opinion, these "Iron Fist Zebracorn Flats" are absolutely wonderful, with their bright, eye catching design and their soft, non-rubbing form. If you're looking to draw attention to yourself, these shoes will do so with ease. It's not everyday you see someone walking around with neon zebra print shoes now, it is? I love that the colour scheme of these shoes means that they will match pretty much any outfit you put them with. No more time wasted trying to find coordinating items to wear! I think they could work for both casual and formal occasions - fancy adding a little pizzazz to your work suit? Why not! (Unless of course your boss is a stickler for 'the norm'.) Whilst wearing these "Iron Fist Zebracorn Flats", you're bound to get plenty of attention from anyone that notices them (read: anyone that has their eyes open as you pass by). I love the bold and vividness of the rainbow colours, in all their fizzy, sherbet like vibrancy. It's all to easy these days to get stuck in a rut with boring, dull shoes. Take a walk on the wild side and throw out your old, dull, boring, reliable black flats and replace them with these bright beauties. Whenever I'm wearing these, I feel happy. There's something about the bright, bubbly colours that has the ability to make me smile whenever I catch sight of them on my feet. These "Iron Fist Zebracorn Flats" can brighten up any lady's shoe rack. Now go get them and spread some sunshine and rainbows!
When it comes to treating myself, I'm not very good. I should be, seeing as I'm female and all, but I'm really not. I'm one of those people that save their money, but never spend it. However, with much thanks to and persuasion from my beloved girlfriend, I have finally begun to reap the rewards of treating myself now and again. Whilst hitting up the Boots sale on Boxing Day, I had absolutely no luck finding anything useful to be used as gifts for others, but I did come across two Burt's Bees sets stashed away out of sight on a low shelf which excited me greatly. I have seen and heard a lot about Burt's Bees products, but never took the leap and treated myself to anything from the range as I deemed them 'too expensive'. However, the two sets were 50% off in the sale - how could I say no? This 'Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Tube' was one of the products included in the sets - and I am now a complete and utter devoted fan to Burt and his bees!
For those unaware of Burt's Bees, they are a company that believe in making natural, earth friendly products for people that like to take care of themselves. Burt's Bees was founded in 1984 by Burt Shavitz and Roxanne Quimby. The company first started out making one single product, beeswax candles, which were sold at local craft fairs and markets, beeswax being the by-product of Burt's honey making business. These candles proved to be a big hit with everyone who purchased them, and as the company grew in popularity and size, they then decided to venture into producing a wider variety of beeswax products. 1991 was the year that saw Burt's Bees begin to product personal care products, including the lip balm you see in this review, which has gone on to become the companies biggest seller. As of 2010, Burt's Bees now have 150 different products in their range which are sold in 30,000 retail locations around the world. Buzzing!
As far as lip balms go, I think this "Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Tube" may be considered a little expensive at its current price of £3.56. However, that said, most lip balms now cost between £2 and £3, and with Burt's Bees you are paying for the excellently natural ingredient line up and the properties that come with them. I do believe in 'getting what you pay for' when it comes to beauty products, and would now have no problems paying the extra for a tube of this lip balm over a lesser priced, synthetic balm.
This "Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Tube" is available to purchase from Boots, Debenhams, Lloyd's Pharmacy, Waitrose and variety of other smaller pharmacies and stores. The Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Tube" can be found singly in the same aisle as the other lip care products with the lip balms, and can also be found included in some of the Burt's Bees gift sets. You can also purchase Burt's Bees products online from their official UK website: www.burtsbees.co.uk. To find your nearest Burt's Bees stockist, check their store locator here: http://www.burtsbees.co.uk/store-locator.html
The packaging of Burt's Bees products to me is very 'folksy', sweet and endearing. A little shabby chic if you will. The tube itself is an orangey-yellow in colour, in keeping with the 'bee' theme. The tube has a small fitted cap on top which is easily removed and replaced by simply pulling it off or pushing it back on. The base of the tube has a segment which turns left and right to allow you to access the lip balm within. The main barrel of the tube is wrapped with a honey comb pattern printed label which again matches the tube colour and is printed with the 'Burt's Bees' name in bright red lettering. Beneath the name is found the product name - beeswax lip balm - in both English and French. This label gives detail of the product ingredients, where the product was produced, the contact information for the company and the weight of the product. At the end of the label you will find the barcode, which is surrounded on either side by a sweet little buzzing bee image.
To look at, the balm itself isn't anything too special. Inside the tube the balm is a creamy off-white in colour and contains no sparkly bits or colour. The balm is plain and simple, and this is what makes it perfect. The Burt's Bees company believe in keeping their products 100% natural, meaning you won't find any artificial colours or additives in their products - so don't be expecting any vibrant, out of this world colours or glitter from them! The balm is plain in colour, and once applied to the lips is completely transparent. This means you are free to apply beneath your lipstick or gloss without the balm affecting the colour outcome.
For me, the smell of this "Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Tube" is damn delicious! When I first purchased this lip balm, I assumed it wouldn't smell of very much at all. I even pondered as to whether beeswax even had a smell or flavour. However, upon opening the tube and taking a sniff, I found that this lip balm was blessed with a delightful peppermint aroma. Now, I'll admit that I am not the biggest fan of mint, as both a flavour and a smell, but the peppermint scent of this lip balm is somewhat heavenly. Every time I apply this lip balm I am instantly reminded of After Eight mint chocolates. We all know how absolutely divine the whiff of After Eight mints are when you open the box and release the smell - well this is that scent in lip balm form. The minty smell of the balm did take me by surprise as I was expecting something honey-like (i think of bees and instantly assume I'm getting honey!) as the balm has no indication of it being minty from the name. To be hit with a whiff of delicious peppermint was pleasantly surprising.
Using this "Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Tube" is really simple. At the base of the tube there is a separate segment which can be turned both clockwise and anticlockwise, dependant on whether you want the balm within to move up or down the tube. To use this balm, simply turn the bottom segment to make the stick of balm appear above the outer tube casing and apply to the lips. To apply, simply press the balm directly to the lips and apply in sweeping motions until both bottom and upper lips are covered. Nothing complex, messy or time consuming. I apply the balm to my lips as an when necessary - first thing in a morning, last thing at night, and multiples times in between. Applying this lip balm regularly will keep your lips soft, hydrated and flake free.
The ingredients used in this "Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Tube" are natural, soothing and aid the repairing of your delicate lips. The rich beeswax used in this lip balm acts as an emollient, working to soften and smooth the lips to banish dryness, flakiness and unwanted scales. The lip balm has Vitamin E to help protect the skins cells from the elements and to aid repair already damaged skin. Peppermint is used in this balm as an anti-inflammatory, helping to soothe the lips, reduce irritation and act as a coolant. Each individual ingredient in this balm has been chosen specifically for its skin care benefits and each ingredient works together to get rid of your chap and soften your lips to the max!
In my opinion, this "Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Tube" is spot on. I've made a vow in 2011 to treat myself more and look after myself better. This means papering myself to the max! I hardly ever wear make-up and I don't dress in expensive garb, so little beauty treats will be my weapon of choice in the pamper stakes this year. I'd suggest this "Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Tube" to anyone of any age, whether you suffer from dry or chapped lips or not. I think lip balm has become a sort of 'handbag essential', and there's nothing worse than having flaky, sore or dehydrated lips. This "Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Tube" is easy to use, is small enough to take up hardly any room in your handbag or coat pocket, and does a wonderful job of rehydrating, smoothing and soothing your lips. I do suffer from flaky, irritable, dry lips quite often, and since using this "Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Tube", I've had absolutely no problems - even after the balm has worn off my lips. I've been greatly impressed by this balm, and find myself reapplying it many times during the day - partly for the lip softening effects, and partly to indulge in the heavenly After Eight minty scent. So, for soft, smooth, kissable lips in 2011 - this product is your answer!
cera alba (beeswax, cire d'abeille), cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, mentha piperita (peppermint) oil, lanolin, tocopherol, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, glycine soja (soybean) oil, canola oil (huile de colza), limonene.

Christmas has just recently come and gone, and it appears that Santa thought I had been a very good girl this year. I got showered with a whole host of wonderful gifts (that I shall be reviewing as time goes by) and had a superb festive holiday! One of the gifts that Santa (through the human device that is my Girlfriend) delivered to me was this "Soap & Glory 'Pink Big' Gift Set". I'm choosing to ignore the fact that I was with my Girlfriend at the time of this frantic purchase (scrambling out of bed at 8am to be at the nearest Boots store for its 9am open to bag the bargain that is this gift set!) and will remain to believe that Santa decided I deserved something extra special this year - just for being me! Well Santa - you did me proud! This "Soap & Glory 'Pink Big' Gift Set" is enough to make any lady feel good all year round!
If you haven't ever heard of Soap & Glory as a brand, then you probably don't know many women! Soap & Glory are a company whom produce the most luxuriously pampering, wonderfully scented and deliciously good bath and body products, and package them up in delightfully retro, girly packaging. Soap & Glory are a feast for the body, with their rich, thick body butters, tantalisingly alluring body sprays, refreshingly moisturising body washes and their tingly pout plumping lip glosses. If you're ever in need of a good old pamper session for yourself, or a last minute gift for a female friend or relative, turn to Soap & Glory - they will never let you down!
Soap & Glory products are available to purchase from Boots, Harvey Nicholls and online at asos.com. These are the only official stockists of Soap & Glory products, so don't go looking elsewhere, or you could be duped into purchasing a rip off or lesser quality product which is trying to disguise itself as the wonderful Soap & Glory! The "Soap & Glory 'Pink Big' Gift Set" was released in November time as part of the Soap & Glory Christmas gifts and proved to be a big hit with all Soap & Glory fans, and frantic present purchasing shoppers alike.
This "Soap & Glory 'Pink Big' Gift Set" is priced at £60, which is quite a hefty price to be spending on a gift for someone (or yourself!), but the sheer amount of products within the set make it worth the money. A total of thirteen different products are included in this set, working out at £4.62 per product. This price doesn't seem so bad once you divide the total cost up and compare it to the price of the individual products to purchase alone. However, if you were lucky enough (like my Girlfriend) to grab a "Soap & Glory 'Pink Big' Gift Set" as part of the Boots 'deal of the week' promotion before Christmas, you would know that the set was reduced down to a more affordable £25! Now THAT is what I call a bargain!
So, what is this "Soap & Glory 'Pink Big' Gift Set"? Only the biggest and most wonderfully girly gift set you will ever lay your eyes on, that's what! Firstly, the gift set comes complete with eleven different products within. Oh yes! Most gift sets generally come with a count of three to five products, at the maximum. This big beauty is packed with eleven different delicious products that will leave you feeling pampered and smelling divine! Not only are there eleven products inside, but the outer 'packaging' for this gift box makes up two extra products too! That's thirteen products in total in one gift set. That's thirteen. Count them! The eleven individual items are packaged inside a collapsible, foldable fabric storage box, which is then packaged inside a huge, beautifully printed, sturdy pink tote bag. Let's all bow down to the gift set fairy and give thanks for this incredible creation!

A pack of Off Your Face cleansing cloths is priced at £4.09 to buy alone.
Giant Super Sudsy Shower Puff:
This has to be one of the biggest and girliest shower puffs I have ever come across. I have a fair few of these shower puffs now from different gift sets from the Soap & Glory range, and I wouldn't be without them! This shower puff is huge, pink, soft and makes a tiny blob of shower gel or soap go a long, long way! The Giant Super Sudsy Shower Puff is prices at £3.50 to purchase alone.
Foldable Fabric Storage Box:
This foldable fabric storage box is something that you'll treasure. You may have lived without it before, but once you own it, you'll wonder how you did! Made from a soft pink fabric adorned with mini white polka dots, this fabric storage box has reinforced sides and base. To collapse the box down, simply pop the base up and fold the sides - simple! My storage box is currently housing a host of cute stationary and beauty products which are yet to find a home in my messy chest of drawers!
Giant Pink Retro Print Tote Bag:
This tote bag has to be one of the biggest I've seen! Made from a wonderfully thick and durable cotton, this tote is a lovely pastel pink in colour and is printed with al all over black retro image design. The pink and black colour way suit the 'Soap & Glory' packaging designs perfectly. The all over print is made up from retro looking beauty products, bottles and containers, pin-up girl-esque ladies, baths and showers, hairdryers and a whole host of other floral, heart shaped and retro looking images. I've used my tote to carry large packages to the post office and to carry my 'top up' shop back from Tesco with no problems at all!
The total individual price for the products which are available to purchase alone come to a grand sum of £66.69, not including the foldable fabric storage box and the gigantic retro tote bag. At the full RRP of £60, you're already saving yourself a lump of cash as this is much cheaper than buying the products alone. If you can pick up one of these "Soap & Glory 'Pink Big' Gift Set"s for less than RRP - you're on to a winner!
In my honest opinion, as a female that enjoys taking a shower and is rather fond of pampering herself occasionally, this "Soap & Glory 'Pink Big' Gift Set" is the best gift set I've ever come across! What woman wouldn't want a gigantic retro printed tote bag inside which there was a pretty pink polka dot storage box stuffed full of different pampering products to make her smell and look good? None! (aside from my Mum who doesn't care much for Soap & Glory, as she much prefers 'Sanctuary Spa' bath stuff - tut tut!) Soap & Glory really outdid their selves this year with their "Pink Big" gift set - I really cannot see how they can possible top this item next Christmas, but I look forward to finding out! The eleven different bath and beauty products inside this gift set are each wonderfully scented and a joy to use. The size of each product within the set is generous and long lasting, unlike a lot of other gift sets which tend to miniaturise their products to put them in their sets. There is a wonderful array of different products within the set, ranging from facial wipes to shampoo to maple scented body scrub, which means there is definitely something for every woman in there.
The only problem I had was this gift set was that for full, original price of £60, once opened the set looked a little bare. The sheer size of the beautiful retro print tote bag with the foldable pink polka dot storage box inside made the products look rather minimal once the lid was lifted. The eleven individual products were of rather generous (either full size or large travel size pots/tubes) sizes, but there was no tissue paper or extra packing inside so the storage box looked rather empty with the products only half filling its spacious size. For £60 you would have assumed that soap & Glory could have stretched to a bit of pretty pink scrumpled tissue paper inside to pad out the box to make it appear fuller and more luxurious as a gift. That said, I'll still give this "Soap & Glory 'Pink Big' Gift Set" five out of five stars for being absolutely wonderful. After all, I guess I can't complain as I received my gift set as exactly that, a gift, and it was purchased for less than half the original RRP!
On the whole, Soap & Glory seems to be a firm favourite with women between the ages of 15 and 65, and I'm sure there are fans out there that stretch even those wide age boundaries! The only trouble is - once you get hooked, you'll never be able to get out (alive!). If you're a lover of Soap & Glory and have worked hard at being good, or you simply want to treat someone you think deserves a little pampering, then this is the set to do it with!

The Pandora jewellery brand is fast becoming the biggest and best seller with much thanks to its modern day take on the charm bracelet. After having visited a Pandora store out of pure curiosity, I fell in love - peering into the glass cabinets within which the rows and rows of pretty little charms were glinting at me, tempting me, making me want them! After leaving the store I decided I needed one of those charm bracelets - the only problem was the price. Lucky for me, I have a very thoughtful Girlfriend with a generous heart and a fantastic memory. When our two year anniversary came around, I unwrapped the beginnings of my Pandora collection with wide eyes and excitement! The rest, I'm sure, will be history (..when I can afford it!).
Cupcakes are one of my most favourite things in the entire world. I'm a big fan of baking, and a sucker for anything cupcake themed - so when I received my Pandora charm bracelet and saw the cute little cupcake charm on it - I died a little inside from sweet overload!
For those that are not aware of the Pandora brand, or what they sell - shame on you! Pandora are a brand which design and sell jewellery, including charm bracelets, earrings, necklaces and rings. Pandora charm bracelets have been designed to be created by the owner, allowing you to choose your own charms and decide the order in which they appear on your bracelet. A truely very personal item of jewellery! There are a whole range of Pandora charms to choose from; whether you're wanting to remember a specific moment in your life, celebrate a milestone or simply show your personality to the world - Pandora has a whole host of charms, over 600 I believe, for you to choose from.
Old school charm bracelets comprised of individual charms which were attached to seperate links in your bracelet. Pandora have shaken things up a little and brough the feminine favourite charm bracelet, a signature piece in a lot of ladies jewellery boxes, into the 21st Centuary by designing a set of charms through which a bracelet may be threaded. This threading system has been patented by Pandora, and allows charms to be placed, added and rearranged at the wearers whim! This patented threading design is so much more stylish, fashionable and long lasting! You no longer have to worry about a charm detaching itself from your bracelet whilst you're out shopping or throwing some shapes on the dancefloor! You can rest assured that your charms are safe and sound threaded onto your bracelet.
Each Pandora charm is individually priced, and the price tag attached to this "Pandora Cupcake Charm" is £35. This may seem like a lot for a single charm to be threaded on to a bracelet - however this is one of the 'cheaper' charms on the Pandora price scale (believe it or not!). Considering this charm is made from 925 sterling silver and is topped with 14k gold, I do think the price is acceptable for this style and size of charm.
This "Pandora Cupcake Charm" can be purchased from any good Pandora stockist. You can purchase your charms direct from a Pandora store (unfortunately they do not have an online store), or you can find a selection of Pandora products for sale in reputable jewellers. You can purchase Pandora charms online too, but be sure to only purchase from reputable jewellery sellers - there are a lot of fakes out there that will be seller lesser quality goods using the Pandora name. For peace of mind, I would only suggest making a purchase from a physical store that is listed as an official Pandora stockist. You can search for your nearest stockist online via the Pandora website using their store locator.
To look at, the "Pandora Cupcake Charm" appears very cute and sweet and it is certainly hard not to fall in love with it. The charm design comprises of a 925 sterling silver ruffled cupcake case base topped with two dollops of silver frosting, and a 14k gold berry on top surrounded by mini silver leaves. Even though this "Pandora Cupcake Charm" is small in comparison to a real cupcake, the attention to detail in the design is superb! The charm, like all other Pandora charms, comes complete with a hole straight through the middle which allows the charm to be threaded on to the bracelet base of your choice.
The "Pandora Cupcake Charm" is a great decent size compared to some other Pandora charms, with a width of approximately 1cm at the widest point and 1.2cm at the tallest point. This may not sound like a lot, but the size is enough to pack a hefty fashionista punch and looks wonderfully cute beside the other charms on my Pandora bracelet.
Cleaning the "Pandora Cupcake Charm" is very simple. Pandora suggest that you simply wipe your charms and bracelet with a jewellery cleaning cloth at regular intervals. Do not by any means submerse your jewellery into any sort of cleaning solution, water, soap etc. This could damage your jewellery! If you plan to wash the dishes, take a shower/bath or go swimming - please be sure to remove your Pandora charm bracelet before doing so. Pandora also suggest that you have your jewellery checked and serviced by a professional jeweller each year to make sure that your bracelet and charms are in tip top condition - as sterling silver and gold are soft metals that can be damaged and/or changed over time. Taking care of your Pandora charm bracelet will ensure that it lasts you a life time!
My opinion of this "Pandora Cupcake Charm" couldn't be any more positive if it tried. As I said earlier, I'm a total sucker for anything cupcake themed - be it jewellery, stationary, clothing or household goods. I love it all! My Girlfriend chose the charms personally for my Pandora bracelet, each with a meaning behind them, and so this "Pandora Cupcake Charm" suits me to a tee! I can imagine this cupcake charm design is very popular with the ladies out there that love Pandora, as I know there are a lot of cupcake fans in the world. The details on the charm itself are fantastic, from the ruffle of the cupcake case to the vein lines on the little leaves on top of the frosting. The "Pandora Cupcake Charm" has been well thought out and looks superb. Like all Pandora charms, the quality of the silver used is top notch, and I've had no problems so far with my charm. I'd suggest purchasing this "Pandora Cupcake Charm" to anyone who likes cupcakes and collects Pandora charms, or for someone to purchase as a gift for a loved one who would appreciate the sweetness of this jewellery piece. Two thumbs up from me - definitely the current best design in the entire Pandora charm collection.

In the run up to Christmas everyone wants to feel festive, enjoy the sights, sounds and smells that come with the festive period and feel warm and cosy. On a recent trip to London, I discovered a range of candle products by a company called Yankee Candles. After much research, hunting around and sniffing of their candles, I decided to make my first purchase in the form of these "Yankee Candle Cinnamon Stick Tea lights". Out of all the available scents, I plumped for the cinnamon fragrance as cinnamon is my most favourite smell and flavour in the entire world. This week whilst putting up my Christmas tree, I decided to light one of the cinnamon tea lights for the first time to add to the festive mood. I was pleasantly surprised and delighted at how delicious and wonderful these "Yankee Candle Cinnamon Stick Tea lights" really are!
Each box of "Yankee Candle Cinnamon Stick Tea lights" contains 12 individual tea light candles and will cost you £5.99. This works out at just under 50p per tea light. Although this may seem rather expensive compared to other tea lights, you are paying for the quality, luxurious scent and exceptional burn time that comes attached to these candles. "Yankee Candle Cinnamon Stick Tea lights" are costly in comparison to other plain tea lights, but they are worth every penny if you want long lasting, quality burning and deliciously scented candles!
You can purchase "Yankee Candle Cinnamon Stick Tea lights" from the high street store Clintons Cards (only a small selection of products available), department stores such as Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Harrods, and also online from a variety of different websites. One of the best websites I have come across for purchasing Yankee Candles in the UK is www.yankeedoodle.co.uk - they have a whole host of products to suit everyone's taste.
To look at, these "Yankee Candle Cinnamon Stick Tea lights" look like any other tea light, aside from the fact they are a lovely bright orange in colour. The wicks are white in colour and run directly through the middle of each tea light. The 12 individual tea lights come stacked and boxed inside a cardboard outer shell which features an all over print image of cinnamon sticks, and the product name emblazoned across the middle.
Without even lighting these "Yankee Candle Cinnamon Stick Tea lights", you can immediately smell the fragrance emanating from the candles as soon as you open the packaging. You don't need to light the tea lights to bask in their cinnamon scented glory, as simply having one in your kitchen or on your office desk unlit is enough to give you a delicious cinnamon whiff whenever you pass by. That said, a lit "Yankee Candle Cinnamon Stick Tea light" is to die for! Once lit, the tea lights instantly begin to release the delicious spicy cinnamon scent. The aroma isn't so strong that it is off putting, but is strong enough to fill your entire house with a hint of warm festive yumminess.
These tea lights are definitely a cinnamon lovers dream, filled with all the delicious scent of sweet buns and cakes baking freshly in the oven, Christmas markets and mince pies. There is something so wonderfully warming and cheerful in the spicy, rich cinnamon scent that definitely gives a house that 'homely' feel. The cinnamon scent lasts for quite a few hours after the candle has burned out/been blown out and does a wonderful job of making the house feel welcoming and warm. If you are a fan of cinnamon, then these "Yankee Candle Cinnamon Stick Tea lights" are certainly one to get your hands on and try out.
In my opinion these "Yankee Candle Cinnamon Stick Tea lights" are absolutely divine. The 'cinnamon stick' scent was the first Yankee Candle product I ever tried, and in the run up to Christmas I figured there was no better scent to have lingering in the house than that of spicy, warming, delicious cinnamon. The smell is definitely one that everyone will enjoy (unless, of course, you hate cinnamon!). Cinnamon is my favourite scent and flavour, so these candles are like a world of joy filling my house whilst they burn. The scent is simply 'Christmas'. Why wouldn't you want the smell of freshly baking cakes, pastries, rolls and sweet buns lingering through your house? I know I certainly do! The burn time on these tea lights is rather substantial in comparison to your every day, run of the mill tea light - 4 to 6 hours is enough time to fill your evening with delicious cinnamon goodness. In comparison to regular run of the mill tea lights, these Yankee Candle ones are the best! The scent lasts for an age - both unlit and lit - and the quality of the fragrance outdoes all those cheap smelling, pungent, ghastly stores-own candles.
The only downside to these tea lights for me is that the smell makes me hungry, or gives me the urge to leap out of my seat and bake up a batch of cinnamon rolls to cover in frosting and wolf down whilst still warm. Mmm yes! These "Yankee Candle Cinnamon Stick Tea lights" hit the spot!
