I am a self confessed Ted Baker-holic. I already own a make up bag and a tote bag, and wanted to add to my collection. I have always lusted after the purses but they are just so pricey. After my last purse went a bit tatty, I decided to take the plunge and invest in a Ted Baker purse. The purses retail for £75.00 which is expensive but that's what you get with designers I suppose! They are sold at Ted Baker stores, online on their website and I have also spotted them being sold in House of Fraser stores. If you search around, you will be able to pick up some of their old designs for at a much cheaper price if you are not willing to pay the large sum. The purse I own is very much like the one in the image. It is shiny black all over, and is similar to a mini clutch. It lifts open at the front to reveal a generous sized purse. You then undo the clasp at the top to reveal the compartments for cash and notes. I feel that you get quite a considerable amount of room to store all kinds of bits and bobs. I tend to hang on to things like tickets and receipts so my purse can get very full - and this meets this requirement. If you are a minimalist then this is not the purse for you! One thing which I was really impressed with by this purse is the amount of slots to keep your cards in. With previous purses that I've owned, I had to start putting more than one card into each slot and it just wasn't practical. I have debit cards, store gift cards, food chain cards as well as things like my Boots Advantage card. It provides generous room to store all of your cards in, so I have found this really useful. There is also room inside if you want to keep a little photo in there which is a nice touch. Another handy compartment is located on the very back of the purse. This may be handy for popping in some coins if you need to get to them quickly. I don't make much use out of this compartment but I am sure that others would. Ted Baker tend to change their designs regularly as the seasons go by. The most current style available comes with a little gold bow clasp at the time. Mine was the style that was released just before this, so it contains two little silver jewels which are absolutely stunning. Even though the external purse looks the same, you can normally distinguish the different styles by the clasp at the top. When you open up my purse, it also has a lovely dog pattern inside. It is coated with little French Bulldogs which is my favourite breed of dog, therefore I was completely sold. I have noticed that the pattern has changed since then. For information: Fabric Content: Shell: 100% Bovine Leather; Inner: 100% Ovine Leather; Lining: 100% Polyester I have now owned this purse for around 2-3 months. I am really impressed with how sturdy it is. I get many compliments as to how nice it is, despite being just a simple black purse. It really does have the wow factor! I have found it a really practical purse and great for daily use. It is however a little large to use on nights out but that's not a problem for me really. I can not fault this purse in any way other than the price - but it really does offer good value for money. If you are interested, Ted Baker offer a wide range of shades in their purses. I opted for black but they do normally have pinks and pastel shades. I do really recommend this purse either as a treat to yourself or to give to somebody else as a gift. I am so pleased with this, and I don't think I could ever go back to my old Primark purses now! Great product from Ted - Thanks for reading and hope it helps.
When it comes to shampoos, I am quite loyal to the brand Aussie. However, I do like trying out new hair products, especially when they are on offer. I needed a new shampoo for when I stay over my partners house. (His manly shampoos just don't work for me). I had heard great things about the new range from Herbal Essences - 'Bee Strong'. I had been meaning to pick a bottle of this up, but kept forgetting to. When we were browsing the aisles in Tesco, I noticed that this range was on offer, and I just had to pick up a bottle of the shampoo. The 400ml bottle of the shampoo retails at £3.89 which is quite pricey, but it is a big bottle and does last a while. Thankfully, I picked it up for half price which is a winner for me. This is sold in most supermarkets and drugstores such as Boots and Superdrug. The bottle comes in a huge bottle which is a yellow/gold shade of colour with a green lid. It is the same style as all other Herbal Essences products. I am not entirely sure if this is going back to the old style like all of the other ones seem to be. I have tried various Herbal Essences shampoos before and I have found them quite hit and miss, so was not too sure what to expect with this one. The first thing I noticed about this shampoo was its lovely scent. It contains honey and apricot scents, which as you can imagine is just lovely. It is a sweet scent but without being too overpowering, and I really like the smell of it. I also find that when you have washed your hair and dried it, this scent lingers and it is just lovely. The shampoo itself is a nice consistency, and has a thickness to it. It lathers up really well, and washes out with ease. I have quite long hair, and I found that you do not need much of this to deliver a thorough wash. I found that this was quite a nourishing shampoo, almost like a 2 in 1 conditioner aswell. There is a conditioner available in the range as well, but I feel like this does enough on its own. After using this shampoo, I couldn't believe how great a condition my hair was in. It felt silky to touch, and it just looked so healthy! I have never achieved results so good from such a bargain shampoo! I also noticed that it had a lovely shine to it. Really pleased with the results, and could not fault this at all. Have been using this regularly now, and have had no problems such as product build up. Overall, I am really pleased with this shampoo from the Bee Strong collection from Herbal Essences. It has lasted me ages, and I will certainly be buying another bottle of this. I am chuffed that I got this for half price, but I would happily pay the full amount for this shampoo. Thanks for reading and hope this helps.
I love Montagne Jeunesse face masks, and I always have a small stash of them in the bathroom. I like to put these on when I am having a bath as it helps me to unwind. I normally opt for the fruity masks or the peel off ones. I had never tried one of the skin polishers before, but it looked great so I picked up the cream and honey one. I purchased mine from Bodycare, but these sachets are sold in various supermarkets and beauty stores such as Boots. I paid under £1.00 which I think is an absolute bargain for a little pamper session. They can be slightly more expensive in other stores, so this is why I choose to go to Bodycare. As stated, I have never used a skin polisher before, and if I'm honest I don't even know what one is! Having read up on it, the skin polisher aims to unclog pores and it acts as a moisturiser as well as an exfoliator. It sounds great because it essentially does two jobs at once. I was really excited to get stuck into this one. It comes in a small sachet as shown in the image, and it is easy to tear open. The mask itself is a light brownish colour. The first thing I noticed was the gorgeous scent of this - cream and honey. It smelt good enough to eat! Unfortunately from this stage onwards it just all went wrong... The sachet contains an adequate amount - enough to cover the whole face and neck. I should start by letting you know a little bit about my skin. I have quite combination skin - my T-Zone and cheeks are quite oily, and then I suffer from dry patches in the winter. My skin can be slightly sensitive, but generally speaking I get on with most skin care products. (In the sense that I don't have to buy everything directed for those with sensitive skin). I started to apply this to my face and at first everything seemed okay. All of a sudden my skin starting burning up and it was quite painful. I washed this off immediately, and my skin was all red. I was quite disappointed because I have never experience skin irritation from any of Montagne Jeunesse's products before. My skin gained some benefits as once it had calmed down it was a little softer. I am by no means slating the product, but I just want to avoid people with even slightly sensitive skin to stay well and truly away from this! Many other reviews state how fantastic this product is, and I have no doubt that it would be on the right skin. Unfortunately, I will be staying away from the skin polishers in future as they are too harsh for me. Even though the exfoliating beads are only small, they just didn't react well on my skin. Thanks for reading and hope this helps.
I am a huge fan of Aussie hair care products. After being impressed with their shampoos and hairsprays, I decided to try out their conditioner. Me and conditioner don't normally get on, and I find myself getting product build up and greasy hair when using it. I have tried numerous brands of conditioner, so I am always doubtful when trying out a new one. Aussie offer a range of conditioners, but I decided to opt for the 'Miracle Moist' conditioner. I got mine from Boots, but these are also available in Superdrug, online and in some larger supermarkets. They retail for £4.69 which at first seems quite expensive, but I feel that the price is fair for such a good quality conditioner. I always tend to buy Aussie products when they are on offer (3 for £10 which gives you a great saving). When this offer is on, I like to stock up because then it saves you over £1.00 per product - sometimes even more depending on what you buy. You get 250ml of conditioner in the white bottle and this is about standard size. There is a purple lid, and the standard Aussie design printed on the front with the kangaroo. What caught my attention was that this is targeted for people with dry and damaged hair. I blow dry and straighten my hair on a daily basis, so as you can imagine the ends do get quite dry! You only need a really small amount of this conditioner to do a great job (and I have long hair). The first thing I noticed was its delicious scent. It smells just like bubblegum, but without being too sweet. I really like the scent of this, and it is a huge plus for me. Not just that, but the lovely bubblegum scent stays on your hair once dry. I apply this all over my hair but I pay particular attention to the ends of my hair. This is because this is where it is most dry, and where split ends form. I normally leave this on for around one minute before rinsing off. It washes off really well and with ease. I noticed immediately with wet hair how much better the condition of my hair was. Once I dried off my hair, I could not believe how shiny and smooth it looked and felt. My hair was much softer and easier to brush through. My hair can often get quite tangled, but when I use this I find my hair much more manageable to style. The results of this are fantastic, and everything that I have ever wanted in a conditioner. I am now nearing the end of this bottle (which has lasted me a good month with daily use), and I will be purchasing a new one right away. I think the reason for its effectiveness is that the product contains Australian macadamia nut oil and nourishing oils. These ingredients help to deliver the great results. Overall, this is a really effective daily hair conditioner from Aussie. It smells great and conditions hair thoroughly. Leaves the hair looking and smelling great, and I recommend this 100%. For somebody that is quite particular with conditioner, I have been converted. Five stars from me, great product Aussie. Thanks for reading and hope this helps.
I love Lush and their bath products, they are my little treat that I like to spend any spare money on. I am a huge fan of their bath ballistics (aka bath bombs) as they add a real experience to just a normal bath. Over Christmas, they brought out a wide range of festive products, and I just had to pick up one of these Golden Wonder ballistics. Since I bought that first one, I have now purchased about four of them because I like them that much. This ballistic is available from Lush stores and online at Christmas time. I am not sure as to the exact price (I'm guessing around £3.00). I did however pick up my most recent one in their sale that came out on boxing day, so I got that one for half price. As a treat, I think these are fairly priced. Initially, the thing that attracted me to this particular bath ballistic is its cute design. As you can see, it is a little gold present with a white bow around it. Very nice, and would make a great gift for someone! It is quite sparkly and did stand out next to some of the other offerings. I also found that it is was a good size for the price I paid, whereas some of the ballistics are slightly smaller. At least with this, you are really getting your moneys worth. When your bath is full and ready to get in, just drop this bath bomb straight in - you do not need to put under running water like a bubble bar. I was amazed at how this ballistic dissolved in to the water. I thought that it would leave a gold shade in my bath. I was completely wrong, because as the present started to open, it left a bright green/blue shade in my bath. I was really surprised with this, and although not my personal choice of bath colour, I must admit that it did look pretty cool. To add to this, it left a lovely sparkly sheen against the top of the water, without glitter sticking all over me. Another nice surprise were the little stars that scattered around the bath. It created the most unusual, but gorgeous bath. Definitely a unique bathing experience! As far as scent goes, this is a pleasant one. However, I do not feel that the scent is particularly festive - in fact I would like the scent during the summer months too. I do also think that this is not one of their best scents that they have used in a bath bomb. Nice, but just not great. With a champagne cocktail fragrance, including sweet orange and cognac oils, I find that it delivers quite a citrus scent to the bath. But at the same time, it has this underlying musky scent which doesn't quite work. Okay scent, but could just be better. Overall, a nice bath ballistic from Lush - it is just a shame it is not available all year round. It really does create a wonderful bath, and the scent makes it suitable for both genders. Would buy again for sure. Thanks for reading and hope this helps.
A few years ago, I wasn't even really aware of Reese's as a brand. I had heard the name, and knew they sold confectionery sweets and chocolates. I had seen some of their products in Selfridges for ridiculously high prices. But in more recent years, American brands seem to be taking the UK by storm. Starting in major supermarkets in some of the bigger stores right down to my local shop in the village. It is great because it gives us Brits a taste of something new, and I had to try some of these. Little did I know that they'd turn out to be my new addiction. They are around 60p-70p in the shops generally speaking. This is much cheaper than what they used to retail at in Selfridges when they were hard to get hold of. They are stocked in most supermarkets such as Tesco and Co-Op Foods. If you can not find them in local stores near you, they are readily available on online stores such as Amazon, but for a slightly higher cost. These peanut butter cups come in a pack of three. Each individual cup is a generous size, and I feel that three is just the right amount before they get too sickly! They each come enclosed in a little paper case (similar to that a cupcake is held in) - and then they are placed on a cardboard slip. I do find that there is a lot of packaging with this. It is necessary to hold everything together, but I can see it may be an issue for some. Now for the most important part - the taste test. Coated in a gorgeous milk chocolate, these peanut butter cups are just delicious. There is just the perfect amount of chocolate to peanut butter ratio. The peanut butter is very sweet and crumbly, but also has a salty kick to it. Then as the chocolate melts in to it, it just creates the most delicious flavour. It is hard to describe how tasty these are, but I definitely would recommend them! The only problem I have found is that they can very sickly as they are so sweet. As a chocolate lover, it is rare for me to say this, but they are a little sickly. Ingredients: Milk Chocolate (Milk Chocolate Contains: Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Milk Ingredients, Unsweetened Chocolate, Lactose, Soy Lecithin, E476 (emulsifier)), Peanut Butter (Peanut Butter Contains: Peanuts, Sugar, Dextrose, Salt, E319 (antioxident), E330 (acidity regulator). As you can imagine, these are not the healthiest snack available. Each individual cup contains 88 calories - so one to avoid if you are on a diet. However, for a treat I don't see that there is anything wrong with these. Many alternatives of these are available - but not well stocked in the UK. These include a large peanut butter cup and a bag of mini peanut butter cups. If you are a fan of these, it's worth having a look for these products as well. Overall, I really enjoy these peanut butter cups from Hershey's. I am so happy that they are now well stocked in the UK, and I do often find myself picking some of these up from the shops when I am peckish. If you are a fan of peanut butter, you definitely have to try these as they are so scrummy! Thanks for reading and hope this helps.
Quite a while ago now, I remember reading a great review on the So White bath ballistic from Lush cosmetics. I had browsed online and in their stores with no such luck. I now realise that this is actually a limited edition product, which is released for the Christmas period. I was really happy to see this in the winter sale, so I had to order one and try it out. Lush can only be purchased in their stores or online on their website. This is currently unavailable. I am unsure as to the retail price of this bath bomb, but I know that it is quite reasonable - around the £2.00. I got mine in the online sale after Christmas so paid under £1.00 for it. I feel that this was a complete bargain, and I am really regretting not ordering more. Most Lush bath bombs are brightly coloured with fancy designs and hidden treats. So White however is completely plain. As you can see in the image, it is just plain white in colour. I think this might be why I have never opted to buy this in previous Winter's. It is a good sized bath bomb and adequate for those who like a full bath tub like me. Although the bath bomb itself does not look too appealing, I have found it to be one of the nicer limited edition products. This bath bomb is apple scented. You can smell it quite well before you put it into the water. I found that the bath bomb took quite some time to dissolve fully - much more than previous bath bombs I have used. This does not bother me however. Most people (me included) love Lush for the way it makes the bath look. I have enjoyed many a sparkly pink bath or a nice shade of green in my bath water in the past. This bath bomb doesn't give much colour - in fact the change in the water was minimal. It does product a frothy top layer on your bath and creates a slightly pale pink colour in the water, but that is about it. For me, it was the apple scent which has sold it. The longer I stayed in the bath, the more the gorgeous scent would fill the room. Apple would not be the first scent I would choose for a bath product, but wow does it work! It smells just like a golden delicious apple, and is almost good enough to eat! It really is a pleasant aroma without being overwhelming. Could not fault that one bit. I am not entirely sure if it was the frothy layer on the top of the bath that caused this, but I noticed how moisturised my legs were without having to use body lotion. There is definitely an ingredient within this bath bomb which has moisturising properties. I was really impressed with how silky smooth my skin was from just using this. Overall, I am really impressed with this bath ballistic from Lush. Although it is not crazy and colourful like some of their other ballistics, this is just right. It smells lovely and has great moisturising properties. I have my fingers crossed that they will release it again next year. Thanks for reading and hope this helps.
I have always loved Uncle Ben's rice and I am a big fan of the express rice range. These are the bags of rice which you can cook in the microwave in a matter of minutes. I find them quick and easy to make and are convenient for those who lead a busy lifestyle like me. I have tried a few flavours in this range, but thought I would have a change. I picked up the Spicy Mexican flavour because I am a huge fan of Mexican foods and flavours, so thought that this would be right up my street! I purchased mine from Asda when it was on offer for £1.00. This rice is available from most supermarkets and retails for £1.69. Although a reasonable price, I wouldn't personally buy this if it wasn't on offer. I do find that the range is regularly on offer in at least one supermarket. Because of this, I tend to stock up on different ones when I notice that it is on offer. A real plus of these bags of rice is how convenient they are. As I work full time, when I get home I don't always want to cook food. These bags of rice only take two minutes to cook in the microwave which is so handy. All you have to do is simply tear open a small gap at the top and leave it in the microwave for two minutes. Despite being a microwave dish, I have always found these of a really high quality. Make sure the rice is piping hot before serving. I have found that this spicy mexican rice is just delicious. Although it is called spicy, I do not particularly think it is very spicy. There are lots of flavours which make it delicious. If you are a fan of mexican food, you will love this! The rice includes tomatoes, sweetcorn, peppers, jalapenos, spices, coriander, onion powder and garlic powder. (Just to name a few of the ingredients)! As you can imagine, this combination of ingredients gives the most lovely flavour to the rice. It makes a nice change to boiled rice which I often have. I can not fault the flavour at all. I like to eat this with chicken and peas, as I feel that is what it works best with. One of these bags of rice is suitable for two to three people as a side dish. It would go with a range of main meals such as fajitas or tacos. Another way I like to enjoy this rice is as a snack. It is handy to eat of a lunch time, as there is just enough to keep you full. If you have a microwave at work, it is a great alternative lunch that is full of flavour too. One bag is 250g and they recommend that 125g (half the bag) is suitable for one person for a main meal. Within this 125g serving is 210 calories. I do not find this too bad considering how tasty the rice is. There is not much salt within this bag of rice either. Overall, I really enjoy this spicy mexican rice from Uncle Ben's, and I will be on the look out to buy some more very soon. I will knock off one star simply because I would not keep buying it at full price. Look around the supermarkets to find out when it is on offer! Thanks for reading and hope this helps. :-)
I myself have youthful, combination skin. Although I can get quite oily skin, I notice that my skin tends to suffer quite a bit during the colder months. I can get dry patches here and there, especially when I come in from the cold. I have always wanted to purchase an expensive, fancy moisturiser - but just couldn't justify the price. A relative of mine is a NYR (Neals Yard Remedies) representative and kindly got me a few bits for Christmas. I had previously tried a sample of this and quite liked it, so I received the full sized bottle. I am thrilled that I got this as a gift, because the 100ml bottle of this stuff costs a whopping £23.75. This is well out of my budget, and I would normally look at £5-£10 for a moisturiser. So it was a pleasant surprise and I am very grateful for this. Neals Yard products are available online on their website. I have not seen them personally in stores around my area. The power berry moisturiser comes in a lovely glass bottle in a dark shade of blue. The Neals Yard logo and a label containing all the necessary information are wrapped around it. I feel that the bottle is very nice, and I will be sure to reuse it again for other products such as hand lotion once I am finished with it. Something I particularly like about this is the pump dispenser. It is so much more useful than having to unscrew moisturisers, and I just find it a nice added extra. You only need a small amount of this moisturiser to cover the whole face. This makes it value for money in the sense that this will probably see me right through until next Christmas. The moisturiser comes out white in colour, but the first thing I noticed was its odd scent. Some people may like it, but I find it very overwhelming and strong. Being called power berry, I thought it would be a pleasant, fruity scent. It is quite the opposite. I personally am not a fan, and I find that this scent occurs in many high end moisturisers. After a few uses, you do get used to the odd fragrance, but it certainly isn't for everyone! (Acai, bilberry and goji berry) The moisturiser is fantastic at hydrating the skin. When my skin gets dry and tired, I always use a bit of this. It gives great nourishment to the skin and hides any dry patches. I also noticed that it really makes a difference to the brightness of my face. Due to my skin being combination, it does mean that sometimes it makes my skin look a little bit greasy which is not great. For this reason, I usually apply this before I go to bed rather than first thing in the morning. When I wake up, my skin is perfectly soft which is nice. My skin can sometimes be prone to breakouts and redness. I find that when I use this regularly (daily - as intended), I sometimes get a little bit red and develop a few spots. Unfortunately, for this reason I would never choose to buy this moisturiser again. However, a good reason to invest in this moisturiser is that it prides itself on being 94% organic, with all ingredients that can be Fairtrade are Fairtrade and certified to international standards. A plus for me. Overall, this is a nice moisturiser from Neals Yard and it does what it is designed to do. I would recommend this more for youthful skin which is dry or those of normal skin types. I do like to use it as a night moisturiser, and will continue to do so. Unfortunately, the few problems I have experienced with this means that I would not choose to buy it in the future. Thanks for reading and hope this helps.
In the run up to Christmas, I made a small order with Avon cosmetics. A friend of mine is an Avon representative and I like to support her. I find Avon quite hit and miss, and I have had a few bad experiences with some of their products. (Review to follow in the near future). However, their Senses range of shower gels have always been a massive hit with me. I tried a few of them out in the Summer and really liked them, so when I saw that they had released a limited edition Christmas scent I had to order one. It is a 250ml bottle of shower gel which is about a standard size. I purchased mine while it was on offer, so it was only 99p which I think is a real bargain! I think retail price is around £2.00 which I still consider a fair price - especially because the Senses range of shower gels always seem to be of such good quality. It is the perfect shower gel for the festive period, and the bottle is red in colour with dazzling diamante effects on the sticker to match its dazzling name. There is a secure lid on the bottle and the gel dispenses easily. You do not need much of this shower gel to create a good lather, so I still have some left despite purchasing this before Christmas. It cleanses the body thoroughly and I have found it to be of a high quality. It meets all the criteria of an effective shower gel, so this is fine by me. Not only this, but the scent of this is just lovely. The name of this shower gel is 'Dazzling' Xmas Glitz - and the scent matches this just perfectly. It states that the scent is made up of gold amber and tuberose. These scents are quite new to me, and I have never experienced them in a shower gel before. The scent has such a warm, festive feel to it. I found it to have a slightly spicy scent, but there is also a slight sweetness to it. It does smell lovely, and I found it great to use of the cold winter nights. I also liked to use this when having baths as the scent is quite relaxing. Despite the scent of the shower gel being lovely, it is a little overpowering. Because of this, I do not like to use this particular shower gel on a daily basis. The scent is quite rich, and for this reason I like to mix it up with some fruitier and lighter scented shower gels. Overall, I was impressed with this shower gel from the Avon Senses range. I would only choose to use it in the winter months, but this is the only time it is available anyway. It is a shame that it is limited edition, as I am sure some people would like to use this throughout the year. It works well as a shower gel, and has a lovely, festive scent to it. I would definitely purchase one of these again next year, and I might even buy some as stocking fillers for friends and family. Thanks for reading.
A few months ago, towards the end of Summer 2013 I attended a friends wedding. I had brought a lovely dress from New Look. However, to attend the evening party I needed some kind of cover up for the cooler summer nights. I spotted all of the 'boyfriend' cardigans in New Look and opted for a peachy pink shade which matched my dress perfectly. The price of the cardigan was only £12.99 which I think is a really affordable price for a good quality cardigan. New Look also offer student discount which makes this a bit cheaper if you apply for this. I can't fault the price of this, and I was completely happy to pay this. Even though I opted for the peachy pink shade, I noticed that they did a whole variety of colours and still do. There was darker colours such as greys and blacks as well as lighter ones such as purples and creams. They are a great everyday essential and make it easy to throw together an outfit. I normally would have seen this style of cardigan as quite a casual option. It looks perfect just teamed with jeans and a t-shirt for an every day look. However, the shade I chose matched perfectly with quite a formal dress and still looked great. These can be worn with a whole host of outfits - and are great as a cover up. I am not quite sure why these are called boyfriend cardigans - but I really like this style. It is long enough so that it reaches past your back. I find with some cardigans that they become really short when you sit down and it really annoys me! Because of the length, it looks great with leggings as it is quite long. I also like that these are long sleeve too. They are made from 95% polyester and 5% elastane. Due to this, it is quite a thin cardigan. It is not particularly effective at keeping you warm due to it being so thin. It is nice for spring and summer to cover up a little bit, however I certainly wouldn't recommend it during the cold winter months as a thicker knitted cardigan may be more suitable. Another feature I like about these cardigans is that they have drop pockets. The pockets are huge and good for carrying around little bits like chewing gum. I do not feel that they are sturdy enough to hold things such as my phone or purse as it does not contain a fastening. I wouldn't expect a pocket on a thin cardigan such as this, so it is a nice added extra and would be beneficial to some people. I have owned this now for quite a few months, and after a good few washes it is still in a great condition. It has not gone bobbly at all and still looks like new. I am very impressed with this cardigan from New Look, and I will be returning later in the spring to purchase some more colours! Thanks for reading and hope this helps.
For the past few years, I have always stuck to using the same foundation. Because my skin is quite oily, I just find it a nuisance to try out new foundations as they never seem to deliver. The reason I actually picked up one of these Rimmel Match Perfection foundations was because I was in the airport ready to fly on my summer holiday. I realised that I had not purchased a shade of foundation to suit my soon to be tanned skin. In a bit of a rush, I just picked up one of these in the shade 'Soft Beige' and hopped on my flight. It comes in a standard sized bottle with a pump to dispense the foundation. The lid is blue, and I find this handy when rummaging through my make up and wash bags as it is easy to spot! The lid is secure, and I find the pump really effective. You only need one pump to get enough product to cover your whole face. This means that the product lasts for a long time which I think is great. Unfortunately, because of how it is designed with the pump, when you get towards the end it becomes difficult to get the foundation out - even when there is quite a lot left in it. This is a shame because a bit is then wasted. One thing I have to rave about with this foundation is the range of shades. I am quite fair skinned usually, and I normally use one of the palest shades on offer. Because I was buying this for my holiday, I opted for a darker shade. But I was really impressed with how many shades were on offer. This foundation caters for very fair skin as well as darker skin tones - so there really is something for everyone. As far as coverage goes, this foundation is great. I am quite fussy with my skin, and I like a heavier coverage so that my spots and blemishes are well hidden. I would say that this is a medium coverage foundation, however it looks really natural on the skin. I have found that my skin looks flawless, which is really surprising for such an affordable foundation! Although I have been using this throughout the winter months as well - a great benefit of it for the summer months is that it contains SPF 18. This is one of the reasons I chose this particular foundation for my holidays. With a high SPF, this means that your skin can be protected well when out in the sun. If you are interested in purchasing this, it retails for a very affordable £6.99 at Boots, Superdrug and some larger supermarkets. For the price, I feel it is an excellent foundation and I would recommend it. The only bad thing I could say is that it doesn't last all day on more oily skin tones. I have quite oily skin, but I find it lasts around 8-10 hours which is perfect for me! Thanks for reading and hope it helps.
I wear make up on a daily basis, and therefore get through make up wipes so quickly. I never stick to the same cleansing wipes and like to change them up a bit. Every time I find some that I like, they seem to be too expensive to keep buying. I had never really tried Johnson's wipes before other than their baby wipes. These were on a good offer when I purchased them. I can't remember how much I paid but it was under £4.00 for two packs. I purchased these from Superdrug. Other stockists include large supermarkets if you are interested in them. The pack comes in a lilac and white shade, and you get 25 wipes in the pack - which I think is quite reasonable. Something I noticed when I purchased them was that the pack seemed quite full and chunky. This is a good thing, as it usually means the wipes are thicker and hold more moisture. I feel that the wipes are of a really good quality. They are indeed thick, and of a good size to remove a whole face of make up. I have found with other brands that I sometimes need to use two wipes. That's not the case with these, so I do find that they last me a good three or so weeks. On a normal day, I do wear foundation, powder, eyeliner and mascara. I find it a real chore to have to remove my make up at the end of the day. Especially when you are having to scrub off waterproof mascara. I found these make up wipes so effective at removing the most stubborn of make up! It takes half the time to remove it in comparison to other wipes I've used. I feel that this is because the wipes are really wet, so they do not dry up at all. They are really handy for impatient people like myself! Another thing which I liked about these is that they have a really fresh scent to them, and it leaves the skin smelling clean. I think the reason they are branded as night time wipes is because they contain moonflower aroma which is known to calm senses. So they are fabulous to use just before bed! As they are 3 in 1 wipes, they are really good at cleansing the face as well just removing make up. I have quite oily/combination skin, and I have found that my skin looks and feels much better after using these. (Even when I do not have the time to cleanse, tone and moisturise)! The only negative that I have found with these wipes is that they can sting and irritate the eye area. If you are quite sensitive around the eye area, these will not be suitable for you! If you spot these on offer like I did, definitely give them a whirl! I am hoping to go pick up some more very soon. Thanks for reading and hope it helps. :)
I use hairspray on a daily basis, and I find myself getting through cans of the stuff quite quickly! I purchased this hairspray on a bit of a whim as I had just finished my previous one. There is no particular reason that I chose this one other than that I knew Shockwaves were a reputable hair care brand. I purchased this hairspray from Bodycare. I am not sure as to the exact price but I think it was under the £2.00 mark. In Boots, a 250ml can of this retails for £2.75, and it is slightly cheaper in the supermarkets. Personally, I find this quite expensive for a standard sized hairspray, but as mine was a better deal I was not too fussed in paying this. The hairspray comes in quite an appealing style. The can is red in colour with a white lid. The spray pump on the lid works effectively, and works much nicer than most hairsprays. I have not a problem in using this. It dispenses a nice amount of spray to cover the whole hair in a matter of seconds. I always make sure I shake the can before use for optimum results. My hair is as flat as a pancake, and I like to use hairspray to prevent it from getting static as well as to keep my flyaways to a minimum. I also use hairspray to create some volume in my roots - particularly when I am out partying. Generally speaking, my hairstyle is quite simple, and doesn't need an effective hold. I have found that this hairspray is great for keeping down flyaways and for keeping my hair in place throughout the majority of the day. However, for hairstyles that require that extra hold, I am not sure that this is the best one. It works well when I boost up the roots of my hair, however it doesn't seem to hold them for all that long - regardless of how much I use! Considering that this is branded as an ultra strong power hold hairspray, I am not sure that it lives up to its name! One thing I must comment on is the scent of this hairspray. It is much more pleasant than your regular hairspray - which is something I do look for in a hairspray. Good to note, as I know this is something that bothers quite a few people. Overall, it is a decent hairspray and I would be more than happy to use again. It does everything that I need in a hairspray, but for any glam and over the top hair styles, I just don't think that this would suffice. I do perhaps think that you can get better value for money with other branded hairsprays out there. But if you find this on offer, it is good for an everyday simple hairspray. Thanks for reading and hope it helps.
It is fair to say that I am in love with the Ted Baker brand and all of the quirky bow designs on their accessories. After being the proud owner of a make up bag and small tote bag, I was ready to purchase my next addition the the collection. I have just returned back from a lovely holiday, and before going I was sure to pick up some of their lovely flip flops. I had seen them on their website and just had to order them! ***PRICE*** At first I was reluctant to spend £35.00 on a pair of flip flops, but this is expected for Ted Baker. These then went into the sale where I only paid £25.00. They also lovely shoes, so well worth the money if you have it. I purchased mine direct from the Ted Baker website. These are also sold in their stores, as well as in House of Fraser, Selfridges and some other stores. ***STYLES*** Every year, Ted Baker update their flip flop range to keep up with the current trends. I purchased mine just before they changed the sale. They continue the jelly style flip flop with their famous bow throughout all the styles. The newer style shows the bow placed on the side of the flip flop rather than at the front by your toes. The ones I purchased display the bow at the front with a gold stud on the front. Older designs will vary slightly. They often sell a wide range of shades from bright neon yellows and pinks, to more pastel shades. My 'Polee' flip flops are baby pink all over, including the bow. Then the sole of them is covered with a beautiful floral design. Regardless of which colour you go for, it is easy to spot they are Ted Baker's! ***PACKAGING*** It sounds silly to comment on the packaging, and I know that many people whizz straight past this information, but I really felt that this needed to be added! The lovely flip flops comes in a lovely clear, plastic case with a print of a watermelon on the front. It also says 'Sweet Treats'. I think this is nice because it can be reused. If you order from Ted Baker on their website it comes inside a lovely big Ted Baker box which can also be reused. ***THE FLIP FLOPS*** I was really excited to take these on my holiday, and I have to admit that I purchased them more to wear of a night time rather than the day. These are also great for wearing on sunny days in the UK. The flip flops are really lovely, and of a very good quality. I am a size 5, and I found that they were very true to size. I was a little worried that my feet can be a bit wide, but they still fit comfortably. For comfort, I could not fault these flip flops. They really are comfortable for long periods of wear, and they do not rub at all which is great. This shows their quality. I loved to wear these with dresses and shorts, but they could easily be teamed with a whole range of outfits. They also look great with beachwear. One thing I must state is that these can be a bit slippy. As these are the jelly style flip flops, it is expected. There is a bit of grip on the bottom of these, so they do hold well on surfaces, but I just found that they were a bit too slippy to wear around the pool area. I did not fall in them, but I just didn't feel 100% safe around the pool with them on. This could be annoying for some people, as this is wear flip flops are worn most often, but apart from this I found them great and practical. ***WOULD I RECOMMEND?*** I would recommend buying these flip flops if you do really want them. I had been lusting after these for ages, so I felt that the price was justified. They are not the most practical flip flops, but they really make an outfit look great and I have had compliments with these. I like them more for night time wear, but if you are buying them for around pools and water parks on holiday, do not take these! That is the only fault I could find with them, and it did not bother me too greatly. I am happy with these, and I am ready to take them on my next holiday already...whenever that will be! Thanks for reading!
