      Fab for mummies round town

This is a fab product and great for mums around town. I was a bit sceptical as to whether this would be big enough and up to the job and was pleasantly surprised when I received it as it was a lot bigger than I expected and very sturdy. It fitted perfectly on my pram and coz I bought the pink version I was also very colour coordinated!! Having a small baby and for the first time in my life not working with no car I found the local shops to be the main place I did my shopping. The basket on my pram is a fair size but wasn't big enough for all the groceries so I thought this may be useful and it is. I can fit several shopping bags onto the clip and it holds the weight easily - the only downside is not overloading the pram by not putting too many bags on it!!

      Worth the money

When shopping for a car seat I decided to go for a seat compatible with the Isofix system and wanted one that was good quality. I looked at the seat that matched my pram but wasn't impressed by the quality so decided to go for the maxi-cosi pebble. I also tried to find the adaptors for the pram base and whilst 'officially' the adaptors didn't fit I went to John Lewis and tried it and it fitted fine! I really like the fact that this fixes to the Isofix base and that it comes with an insert for a newborn baby which you simply take out as your baby grows. It also still fitted my baby when she was one so it lasted longer than I expected. It is also easy to use without Isofix so that when I went out with my sister I didn't need to remove the Isofix base from my car. This is a good quality item and worth the money.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Cost effective sterilising and space saving

This steriliser from Avent is just brilliant. I thought about getting a table top electric steriliser but they take up soooo much room on the kitchen work surface. This one I keep in the microwave so that when I'm not using it I can store it there. Until I bought this my DH used to moan about even having a microwave as he has a 'thing' about microwave cooking but when I bought this he thought the microwave was suddenly amazing. I also found this to be a very cost effective steriliser compared to the electric ones. I used the Avent bottles and they fit fine in this one although I'm not sure that other brands of bottles will fit that well. I also tried Dr Browns bottles in here and they didn't fit so well. Whilst it takes a bit of time fitting everything in there are handy diagrams on the bottom of the steriliser to show you what goes where so that you can fit all your bottles in. I found that 5 bottles and dummies would fit well in here. All in all a great product and cost effective too.

If you've the time and the inclination then you may find the perfect name

I have this book and found it too hard to choose a name. After weeks of reading and discussing names with my DH we couldn't agree on anything even with so many to choose from - it made me wish I had bought a book with less names so as to make it easier to choose! It also has lots of the same name just spelt differently so that makes the task even longer. Unless you are a speed reader you'll spend all your time reading this book instead of reading about what to expect when the baby arrives! Like most new mums to be I read everything about names and labour but nothing about life with a baby...mmm methinks my time would have been spent better reading about that. What I did like about this book is the trend information and the topic/generic specific names which was interesting but the names were a bit too far out there. If you like really unusual names and have loads of time then this book is for you.

Fantastic product and always in my shopping basket

This is the best and most reliable deodorant ever. I've tried all the brands but found the smell off putting and performance mediocre. This roll on is great at keeping you fresh and dry all day long. I really like the fact that it's unfragranced so it doesn't compete with your perfume nor make your clothes smelly. I'm not sure that it lasts 48 hours but it does last a day - I use it every day. I've tried other types of this brand e.g the aerosol and the block but they don't seem as good. The only downside to this product is that you need to let it dry for a couple of minutes before you get dressed otherwise it marks your clothes but that is a small price to pay for such good protection. This is good enough for you never to have to look or try another deodorant again.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Useful product to have

I used this loads when my baby was small. It's great for those times that you don't want to use a buggy. I Found it particularly useful when going for walks on the beach/country walks and for baby sales when you cannot take your buggy or you just need to use both hands! I also found it useful if my baby was having a 'clingy' day when then just want to be carried around. For every day shopping then you'll still need a buggy and this isn't an alternative to a buggy but it is very useful. I found that as my baby got heavier then it wasn't so easy for me to use so I let DH carry the baby instead - cute! What was really good is the fact you can carry your baby facing you when they are very small and then face them outwards as they get older and start to take an interest in the world around them.

        Good toy for small babies

This product from Lamaze is great. The Lamaze toys are fab quality and are the thing to stimulate and entertain baby. There is a mirror along with crinckles crunches and jingles. It is not too big (some of the Lamaze toys are massive!) and fits nicely on the pram/pushchair. The hook means that you can also put on the jungle gym as extra entertainment. My little one loves this toy and finds it interesting to look at and play with. Like all the Lamaze toys they seem to interest babies from birth to around 9 months when they grow out of them but as a first stage toy then it's great. I also bought one for a friend and her baby loved it too. It's also a change and a bit different to the very common Freddie the Firefly which everyone else seems to buy. Great for little boys and girls.

A great product for dribbly babies

I love this product - it's great. My baby is very dribbly when teething and I got fed up with constantly having to change her bibs as they were wet through. I found she kept getting a rash under her chin when she was wet all the time - not good. Someone mentioned dribble bibs to me and I found these. I bought one to try (as they are a bit costly) but was instantly hooked. They have loads of great designs to choose from and my collection now has about 5 styles. My baby looks really cute in them and I've also bought them for friends who also think that they are great. They wash well and don't seem to fade too much even though they are used all the time. They also have 2 poppers so they grow with baby as well. I would recommend these to anyone.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Good if you have the room

I bought one of these for my baby before she could sit upright and found it invaluable. Great for placing under the jungle gym to give her new perspective on her favourite toy. It's also great for when then start eating a few snacks. My baby started to get a flat head so sitting her upright in this also helped with sorting this out. I bought one in pink but think it would have been better to get in a neutral colour in case another baby comes along. The downside to this product is that the baby only used it for such a short period of time as once they can sit up then it becomes a bit useless. It is also quite big to store so I'm not sure that I will keep it and they are also quite expensive for something you don't use that often or for that long.

          Great all round family car

We bought this car after hiring one for a week and thinking it was great. We were going to buy a 1.6 diesel version but found it too slow to accelerate and cumbersome around town. After driving an audi 2.0 diesel I was a bit worried about motorway performance in a 1.4 petrol car but found this car to be ok even on the motorway - it has enough welly to get you out of trouble if you need to overtake etc. The boot space is ample for a pram/pushchair and the rear air con is great for the baby too. We toyed with getting (and waiting) for the bluemotion version but realised that actually you get similar specification for your money. Whilst it's not as economical as the bluemotion it is only a 1.4 so not that costly to run and you get great performance. The best thing about this car is that it doesn't feel like a 1.4.
