I'm 18 nearly 19 and not embarrassed to admit I LOVE JLS. So I was wondering around boots one day looking for some cheapish perfume that I could wear on a daily basis and be able to smell all day. As a JLS fan I went straight over to this perfume. It caught my eye immediately as it's brightly coloured with each side either red, blue, green or yellow with an image of one of the boys on each side. Now, the actual perfume bottle in itself is not exactly beautiful. It's a plain white bottle with JLS on the side with a little silver star. A little simple but for £14, can't really ask for more. The perfume scent itself is very sweet and strong. I can still smell it after a days work, which is important for me as I like to smell my perfume throughout the day, however for others who prefer more subtle scents, this may not be for you. As I said it is a very strong scent, it can also smell slightly manly if you put too much on. I'd definitely say less is more. As the product is £14 from boots, (and currently £10 as it's on promotion) I'd buy it again, and it's an essential for any JLS fangirl like me! And at that price it's certainly affordable, which I'm sure is one of the main factors for the target audience. However, for those who like subtle smells I wouldn't recommend.
These shoes are so classic, you can (almost) wear them with anything! You can dress them up or dress them down, and wear them in any occasion. I have the grey pair shown and I find the colour perfect for the majority of my outfits. The shoes take a few wears to break them in, but that is probably personal to me as I have wide feet, but the beauty of these converse is that you can adjust them to fit to your feet. You can tie them how you want and customise them with different shoe laces, my friend has some nice mario world ones. So like I said you can wear them for every occasion. I find I can wear these shoes in both winter and summer, although I wouldn't recommend wearing them in snow (like another other pump like shoe) as soggy, wet and cold feet are not the one. But in summer I don't find my feet get too hot and I can walk for miles in them as they are so comfortable. However, as I wear these pretty much everyday they are starting to look a bit 'tatty' now, and I'm reluctant to put them in the washer because my friends went funny, i.e colour went and didn't have the same 'feel' as before and they weren't as supportive. I also have the classic black converse, and they are just as good as the high tops. Overall, I LOVE these shoes, I next plan on buying some grey spotty ones I've seen at shuch. Although these shoes are quite pricey, there are cheaper alternatives, I see as you pay for the quality, not just the name, so I'd advice these over the cheaper alternatives, everytime.
I received this hairdryer for Christmas and I am so pleased with it! When I first picked it up I was surpassed how light it was compared to other hairdryers! It means there's no arm ache after drying for about 20 minutes like I have to (I know, I'm weak). My first reaction when I switched it on was that it didn't seam as powerful as my previous hairdryer, however I looked at the info for the other dryer and they were both the same power. It was only because it was so light that it seemed like that. The 'power' is a good advantage because it doesn't take as long to dry in the morning which means extra time in bed. Win. Another good point about this dryer is the attachments which came with it. There's a nozzle which is great for kinda like precision drying like drying your hair a certain way. There's also a diffuser which comes with it too, however due to my hair never co-operating, I have not used this part yet guys - sorry. However, if it's anything like the rest of the product I'm sure it'll be fabulous. :) The chord is quite long too, so I can swing about in my room without worrying I'll pull the plug out. The switches are so easy to use, which I've seen has been a problem among other reviewers, but so far I've had no problems. I love the 'cool' function, which protects from frizz. Overall a fab hairdryer, would recommend to anyone. It also has some volume lotion in the box too, which I find really works, gives hair that extra 'poof'!
Nails inc is an expensive brand, no doubt about it. It looks professional, and has a good reputation. So, when I saw this brand and colour with a magazine as a free sample, I just had to get it. (Magazine price = £2, Nail polish price = £11, no brainer). Having got a previous nails inc polish (also free in a magazine, haha cheap skate) I decided to add to my collection. Although, I'm not sure why as my other polish had dried up and gone lumpy and gooey. Anyway, this piccadilly colour is beautiful. It's a very deep colour though, so when I use it I find it best to put on a base coat so it doesn't stain the nail; or make it impossible to remove, like I have found with this colour. I would also advise that you put a top coat on, as this gives a more professional look, and can prevent chipping. I have found this polish to only give a few days wear, before the dreaded chipping begins; you know it is downhill from here at this stage. As this is such a dark colour it is so noticeable that I can't stand it and just take it off at this stage. I have also found this with the other colour I have, although this is a very pale pink, so I get an extra few cheeky days wear out of this one. Although, to be fair, the brand does not make a particular promise about how long it will stay on, as many others do. So fair play. Also, having just this minute painted my nails, I tried to open the piccadilly circus polish, and the top just screwed off - without the brush. So the brush was still in the pot but the silver part was in my hand. Sure you'd agree poor quality for the price. Overall, it is a good quality product. It's thick and not watery like cheaper alternatives. However, I would not pay £11 for this, as I feel you are only paying for the brand, and that there are cheaper, and just as good, alternatives available.
Benefit is a label you can trust. So, I brought this product as I knew the brand stood for good quality. The tube is quite thin and I feel you do not get a lot of product for the £18 price tag. The product overall is okay, it does define your lashes and separates them, however, I would say that this lacks the ability to give your lashes the overall 'wow' factor, as it does not give you that much volume. However, it does do something that other mascaras lack, I can't put my finger on it, but I do not get this effect with other (cheaper) mascaras. I wear this mascara everyday as it does not give a too 'dramatic' look that would be nice on a night out. However, if I do wear this on a night out, I put several layers on this on and pair it with another mascara to bring out my eyes. I did have one problem with this mascara brush, although this may be because I am a little rough, the brush came away from the actual lid. However, with a little superglue this problem was soon fixed. I find this product expensive, however it really gives off an effect of beautifully separated lashes and this is subtle enough to use everyday. Although as I have mentioned it's a little pricey, I have brought another one of these mascaras since it ran out, so I hope that does give some impression about the quality of this product. So, I feel this is worth saving up for.
I am currently sat with this product on my legs, and blimey, these legs of mine are feeling super soft. This product is great; it's not too greasy like some body lotions can be, so doesn't leave your body feeling slimey, and lets face it, a bit like a slug. So, for this I give it the thumbs up. The smell of this lotion is beautiful, it has a orange flower scent which is shall I say distinctive, I haven't smelt anything like this before and it really does set it apart from other body lotions on the market. The smell really does stick with you and last for a long time, I like it however, I could see that others may not be as keen on this smell. The lotion claims to last 24 hours. I think this may be a stretch, but I did put this lotion on before I went to bed last night, and my legs were beautifully soft this morning when I woke up. But, I doubt this would last for 24 hours. I have this body lotion in the 250ml bottle. This has lasted me a while as you do not need to put large amount of this on. Overall, this is a good lotion, and leaves you skin feeling soft. I have actually recommended this to my friend just yesterday, as she was having problems with other moisturisers leaving her skin feeling greasy and spotty.
I saw my friend with this nail effect on and it caught my eye, it looked great how she had paired up the colours and how it went with what she was wearing. She had the black effect over a pale blue polish and it looked great. So, I went and brought one for myself, after a lot of people were raving on about how great it was. I brought the hot pink one although there was also a white, black and another colour which I can't remember (Sorry!). But there are now a few other colours which have been added into the mix. Ultimately, how good this effect looks will depend on the colour you pair it with, so if you choose an odd colour choice the look may not as effective as other colour choice. To use this effect you have to layer it over a layer of nail polish. You should allow this layer to dry before applying the nail effect, and then apply a thin layer of this effect over the layer. A thick layer only makes the effect less noticeable and just looks like a blob of colour on your nail, a thin layer makes finer cracks and in my opinion makes it look a lot nicer. When I use this I go for the pink over a layer of aqua blue, it sounds a bit weird but looks quite bright and looks very '70's' as my Mum says. I loved this look and used it often, however after a few uses the polish started to go dry in the bottle and rather thick and gloopy which not means that it does not apply as well onto the nail and goes on in a layer which is too thick. When I asked people's opinion on my nails, it was divided. The girls said it looked great and asked about where I got it from etc. The boys however, did not like it as much, infact my boyfriend went as far to call it 'a mess' but hey, what does he know? Overall if this polish did not dry out in the bottle I would continue to use this again.
I brought this purse as a pre birthday treat to celebrate my new found matureness (it was my 18th birthday) and also I was fed up with my old purse as it was rather bland and I wanted a new one to brighten up my day (I have this purse in the bright orange colour). This purse struggles to fasten up correctly at this front as it has the popper sort of fastening. It does not fit properly even when I have only a few pound coins in the change part. I could understand this problem if my purse was bursting with change, but I found this disappointing as it would not fasten with only a few coins. This also means that when the purse is in my bag that coins end up everywhere, in the bottom of my bag, when I take the purse out my bag coins end up everywhere. When you open the purse up there is the usual note part, with a zip compartment in the middle. This is a really nice feature as I use this part to keep the most important parts in like my debit cards and other things my life depends on. There is also the card slots where you put your cards, such as driving license, store cards etc. I am really disappointed with this part of the purse. There is only a limited number of slots so I find I have to store these cards in the other part of the purse which is not very secure and means they can get mixed up easily. Also, when all of the slots are used up the other cards are IMPOSSIBLE to get out as they become wedged. I was trying to get my ID out the other day in the shop and the man in the queue behind me had to help me to get this out as it had become so stuck. This is not the first time this has happened and I find this rather embarrassing when I'm in a queue and trying to pay for something in a rush. The colour of my purse is beautiful, a sort of coral orange, which is bright and very eye catching which is what caught my eye in the first place. The price of the purse which was £18 when I brought it, (I'm certain it has been reduced by now) which I found expensive compared to other high street shops, but as I shop in River Island regularly, I paid expecting good quality as I have with other products I have brought from this store. However, I did not see this quality and I am disappointed with this purse overall. I would not recommend this to a friend and to be honest, I think I will end up getting a replacement very soon.
This foundation ensures that us girlies have a good even coverage. The texture of this foundation is great and does not make skin look oily, which is what I worry about as I have patches of dry skin and patches of really oily skin. It is also very soft to the touch and feels lovely when you apply it with your fingers, which is what I do, because you can really cover everywhere, and get into the creases of the face like the side of the nose and under the eyes. This foundation is a dream - it makes my skin the same texture and you cannot notice the patches, which is great and really improves my confidence. It also has great shine control which I think is an area other foundations can lack in. It also feels light on the skin, as you probably know, some foundations can feel somewhat heavy on the skin and make your skin feel blocked. This is great. The price (7.69) I feel is justified, it is a good quality foundation and it does last quite a while as you do get a good potful for the price. I have had this one since September and use this pretty much everyday so it does last. This foundation claims to last 16 hours, which I feel is really pushing it, but what cosmetics company does not? I will be fair with this product though, it does last all day. Before I first used this foundation I would be constantly checking my foundation to make sure it was still even, but with this one it does stay on for a good day. Once I have put it on in the morning, it does last till about 6pm. And the size of this it great for keeping in your make up bag, as it is not too big. My shade is 021 nude, which is in the middle of the range which is very wide, I think every skin shade can find a great colour match with this product.
When Girls Aloud went on their break there was a big girl band sized hole in my left, which was soon filled by these girls. There is alot of media interest too, and when I first head Notorious it was in my head for days. It was a new direction for the band, and a good dancy tune. Then, All Fired Up was released, which took me back to the Sats more 'traditional' pop songs they have released, yet someone with a more up to date twist. By this time I was hooked and simply had to buy this album and I have no looked back since! It is in my car CD player and the album has a song for every mood, and is so good to sing along to with so many sing a long songs, especially White Lies, which is my personal favourite. The collaboration with Travie McCoy in 'The way you watch me' shows that they are able to work with other artists and make a memorable track, unlike some other bands, in which the track seems to fill space. 'Move on U' is another favourite of mine, a feel good song, which I can't help but sing a long to, and have a cheeky dance. As I was saying, this CD is in my car, and I have not had one person ask to change it over, like I have to ask in other people's cars. In fact, my boyfriend (6ft tall, rugby player, manly man haha) loves this album and earlier on I even overheard him singing the lyrics when he thought I wasn't around... Over all, this is a fantastic album, which will have everyone singing along to!
I cannot stop eating this chocolate. It's so light and bubbly and just melts in your mouth. It does not have many calories in compared to simliar sized bars, so you could be let off with eating as many as you like!! The bubbles are a lighter version of areo bars, however with smaller bubbles and less 'heavy', and does not have as richer flavour, so after you eat this you are not left with a rich taste in your mouth, which can be a bit too chocolatey. It's also in smaller sections, so you can indulge in it one bite at a time, and even save some for later (if you have enough will power to do this, unlike me!) Infact the only complaint I have as a serious chocoholic is that this bar of chocolate is not big enough!! And if I could I would make sure they release a huge me sized version. :D
As a slave to the old GHD's, I need a product which offers heat protection, (up to a good high temperature where others seem to not be as good) and keeps fly aways at bay. This does all that and leave my hair smelling gorgeous and silky smooth. Infact my boyfriend can't stop stroking my hair as it now feels so smooth! As this is the 'dual personality' it means hair is not overloaded with products all doing different things, so this is the only one I need! And this also means no chemical build up which is good for your scalp as it's not as irritating, and prevents dandruff/ flakey scalp. It also prevents this as it's a spray as opposed to a moose. The product does not really have a smell, which is good as I think if it did it could overpower the smell of the shampoo (which should be great if used with other aussie products). I would recommend this to a friend, it's the one product a girl needs if straightening hair most days is a must!!
When all my friends kept raving on about BBM, I felt left out. So, stupidly going along with the crowd, decided to trade in my reliable, beautiful samsung for this heap of rubbish. First of all, the keypad is difficult to get used to if you are a new blackberry user; if I asked my mum to make a call on this phone she would not have a clue what to do, in fact, she does not know where the number are located. The track pad, to begin with was overly sensitive, to the point where I could not select anything as pressing it would move it sideways. Now, it is so hard to use it takes an age to select anything, and when it does it moves to the side again. The handset is constantly freezing, and coming up with an egg timer, which means you cannot do anything but sit, watch and wait for it to sort out. That's if it ever does. If it doesn't that means you have to removed the battery and restart the handset again. Which is an adventure in itself and can take up to 20 minutes. No good if you have to urgently make a call. The battery life is dismal, this is because each time you open something you have to close it, and this is often forgotten to do. I left my phone in my locker at work for 3 hours, with full battery, and returned to find it flashing it's red low battery light at me. The camera quality is as expected, this phone is not designed to take photos, so I cannot expect much of it. However, I do find it's hard to use and capture images which my previous phone did. But, as I said it's not a high quality camera, so we shouldn't expect miracles. One feature I do like about this is the little red light. All BB's have it but I find it usual as it means I can leave my phone on the side and get on with other tasks instead of waiting for a text, missing it and not knowing it's arrived. The keypad is another feature I like, although this is now pretty much a standard on all smart phones, I know where all the keys are and it means I can type quickly and effectively. A good feature about BB's is the App-world, where you can download apps such as Facebook and Twitter and change the settings on the handset. Overall, I think there are better phones you can get for this amount of money. And although there seems to be a hype around these at the moment, I'm sure the quality of these will make sure people will find something of higher quality soon.
This product is great as a little something extra to surprise your boyfriend (or girlfriend!) and give them a treat. As it's a massage gel, I used it to rub my boyfriend's back and I found this was a good product to use. It was not too greasy as other similar products are, for example others would need to be rubbed off after, whereas this one just sinks in and leaves skin feeling nice and soft. The lube, well. Yeah, that works great! I found the design of the bottle meant that the oil was quite hard to get out, as you really need to squeeze the bottle for it to come out. This proved to be a bit of a passion killer in certain situations, as you can imagine. I would recommend this product to others, as a massage oil, as my boyfriend loved it. It also didn't irritate him as other products can cause him to come out in a rash and itch, haha. Not good.
Ah. I have so many of these! I brought the satsuma 'flavored' one, after using several of the body shop's other satsuma products, (which are also fantastic). The smell is gorgeous, but very strong, so I feel it can vary on your preferences. It can also be very think and gloopy, if you may. Which is not great if you want a smooth lip look. Also, the texture can feel a bit odd, as it is gloopy. I feel it is like you can feel the 'glitter'. Also, it is certainly not moisturising, like other products like Vaseline are. If it's used too often it can dry your lips out, which is certainly not a good look. The size of the product is great though, can fit easily into pockets, bags and purses. And as they are small, but also quite deep (I hope this is making good English) you can easily carry several 'flavors' of lip balm at the same time. It does not last long either, I found I had to reapply this balm regularly. On a side note though, I had the limited edition mint lip balm, but sadly I lost this (I did say they were small ;) ). But if by some means you get hold of this edition, I would recommend this flavor, as it can give the impression of fresh minty breath. (But don't use this as a replacement of good dental hygiene..)
