I am not a huge fan of Pandora just because its something everyone has (well every young girl around seems to have one). I found myself in a Pandora shop and found myself purchasing this double weaved bracelet in white leather.
Mine is white leather but comes in a variety of colours including pink and black.
This comes as a long piece of leather which wraps around the wrist twice and is secured by the clasp (Pandora). It is quite difficult to put on by yourself so you may not someone to help.
The standard for an adult is 41cm but comes in a smaller size as well.
It is best to have a slightly bigger size because if you do choose to have charms added there is room for them to be added comfortably.
This retails at £45.00 and is available in most jewellers and online.
In my opinion I think this is a lot of money for something that looks very plain by itself. I would much rather invest in something like Links where you get better value for your money. It does not look stunning and could easily get passed for something other than what it is.
If you do buy this then I would recommend getting a charm with it as well to give it some character.
This chocolate claims to be smooth and creamy chocolate captured in crispy shells, and this is exactly what it is. This is one of my favourite chocolates, they just melt in your mouth. Only problem is there isn't enough in a 42g bag. I just can't seem to stop eating them. Don't do much for the diet! The chocolate is silky on the tongue and very very creamy in taste and texture.
A 42g had approximately 20 sweets. with 500 calories per 100 gram. they are not sickly like some chocolates and many people who don't like much chocolate can't resist these.
Not a chocolate to give the kids when they come around, very much an adult chocolate. They are quite pricey for a bag and can cost upto 70pence in some places.
They are available in larger bags if this size is not enough. You will soon be wanting another bag!
I have just returned from this hotel and I must admit it is a beautiful hotel and massive. Takes half a day to get around the whole hotel but it is catered towards the higher generation.
The hotel is situated on a steep hill and is situated about half an hours drive from the airport. Although this can be much longer depending on the number of drop offs. Los Christianos is one of the first and before Playa de las Americas.
Upon arrival the hotel looks very big and has an impressive big reception area. There were a few people waiting to be served by two members of staff. When it was our turn to be served we were taken to the other side of the reception which seemed very weird. Away from all the other guests checking in. We were told our room was not ready and there was problems with the flooding and we would be transferred to another hotel in town. The receptionist did not think this was a problem despite we had been travelling for over five hours and was very tired and just wanted our rooms. After a bit of debating we were offered an upgrade to the Junior Suite the following day plus our drinks to be paid for at the other hotel as we had gone all inclusive. This did take a lot of asking as the receptionist was not too interested. The hotel paid for our taxi to the other hotel which was nothing in comparison to the Paradise Park. We were taken a fifteen drive away to a business centre. This was more like a city hotel, with no pool, no facilities. The hotel was dead, the bar was not open, the lights were all off when going through the long corriders. It felt like a morgue. The dinner buffet was horrible also.
We left the hotel the following day still to be told our room was not ready and she had completely forgot about the upgrade so again we had to ask again and wait four hours before we had a room ready.
The Junior Suites are set in the apartment blocks away from the main hotel and has thre adjacent rooms. A lounge and a sleeping area and very large bathroom where the toilet was in a seperate room to the walk in shower and different to the bath. It was nice to have all the space. I was expecting the rooms to be refurbed though which these were not so they were a bit dated. There was a large balcony which overlooked one of the many pools.
***FOOD AND DRINK***
The vast amount of food available is impressive and you will gain a few pounds at the end of the holiday. There are two restaurants. Breakfast and Dinner is served in the ground floor restaurant while lunch is served overlooking the pool. With the option of eating inside or outside.
Dinner time is always very very busy and such a squeeze to get a table. The tables are so close together you are practically having your dinner with another table. The waiters guide you to a table and they tend to put all inclusive in the far corner while the paying guests get the best seats. Which I though was a bit bad and rude. There is always a huge salad bar, hot food being cooked like steaks, chops, chips and selection of fish. There is always a pasta dish as well and plenty of bread, cheese, fruit and deserts. Deserts are not to my liking though and I am a massive cake fan. It is synthetic cream sponge things that don't really have any taste to them.
There is also two pool bars, one of the roof top (must have a look at roof top its great for sunbathing) and a pool bar on the main pool. The pool bars have a selection of salads, burgers, chips, toasted sandwiches as well as self serving drinks. Soft drinks, a local beer on tap, and range of cocktails as well as tea and coffee.
So you will never go hungry!
Entertainment is geared towards the older people and young children with half an hour in the middle for everyone else. The piano bar often has a live band and couple get up and ball room dance which is lovely to watch. This starts at 8.30 until 10.30.
In the main entertainment room, there is a mini disco for children at 8.30 until 9.30. Then there is usually bingo for half hour or parrot show. At 10.00 there is a entertainer, usually a singer, a dancing group. This room gets very busy and difficult to get a seat. The room is not very big for all the guests the hotel has.
Other all, after the problems we had when we arrived, the hotel is lovely and plenty of space. Very easy to get a sunlounger because of the huge amount of pools. Worth checking out the pool at the side of the hotel which is not obvious that is connected to the same hotel. For this reason it is not usually that busy. The pools are not heated and very cold.
Like all Canary Islands, Tenerife is hot all year round, but we must have arrived in the wrong week, as it rained a couple of days, was very windy most of the time and temperature was about 22 at highest. When the sun came from behind the clouds it was lovely but this lasted about half an hour before it went cold again. We never went in the pools once, much to our disappointment as the pools were freezing.

Worth checking out the pool at the side of the hotel which is not obvious that is connected to the same hotel. For this reason it is not usually that busy. The pools are not heated and very cold. I would have like more entertainment geared towards my age group (20's-30's). But as I stated before the vast majority of guests are 50 and older.
When I was an epilator virgin I thought I'd try it out as an alternative to waxing. I hadn't read the reviews on what an epilator was like and just thought it would be like shaving. How wrong was on.
You plug it into the mains and there are two settings, slow and fast. So I put it on fast and there was this load rawing noise with all these hundreds of tweezers whizzing around looking like they are going to do serious damage.
I only managed a tiny bit on my leg as I was in absolute agony. Who would use these things? I persavered and it took about half an hour to do one leg. Not a quick alternative to hair loss. But maybe because I was a beginner and kept stopping and starting in between screaming in pain. I did find it got easy, or maybe not easier just got used to the pain.
However I found after using the for a few times that your skin gets used to it and doesn't hurt so much.
The things I don't like about this, is the amount of time it takes, seems far too time consuming and not something that can be done in a couple of minutes. And is very painful.
This one comes in a nice pouch for when going on holiday or just for storage in bathroom and an alternative head. So that this turns into an electric shaver. Which is handy.
It is very noisy, and I am sure there are others out there that are far quieter and less painful. It is best to cool the skin first before using.
I have given this three stars because of the noise, not being able to pluck every single hair in one go. Quite often I need to go over the same area numerous times. And I am sure there are less pain ones available but I have nothing to compare with. They may all be this painful. Not for the faint hearted.
I had this phone on a contract. On looking at this on a screen it looks very smart but when the box arrived I was a little disappointed. It was alot wider than what I had thought. But is a nice looking phone.
The phone comes with a pen which slots onto the side of the phone using a piece of string. I would have preferred to have this attached instead of hanging from some string when I am out and about.
Using the pen was a bit of a novelty to begin with and enjoyed getting the pen out and sending messages. But not very ideal when walking around the shops and trying to send a text with the pen. I have always used the pen but not too sure if the phone will work too well without the use of it.
When sending a text the very big screen turns into a qwerty keyboard this is large enough to use with ease.
The menu us easy to navigate around to and quite an easy phone to get used to. I've had phones in the past where its been really difficult to work out how to phone or text someone because the menus are hard to navigate around.
The phone comes with bluetooth which I have never used. Not quite sure how and what use this is.
The camera is of average quality and doesn't take very good evening pictures, as they look quite dark which is a bit disappointing when you don't have a camera to hand.
The phone also has a radio which is used via the headphones the phone comes with. The headphones act as an antenna. The quality is very good and very clear.
This is my previous phone, I have since had an upgrade.
I had always wanted a Samsung mobile because my friends have had them in the past and said how reliable and sleek looking they are. After looking at various different models I chose this one. And I was very happy when it arrived.
The only downside with this was that it is slightly bulkier than what the picture looks like on the internet. I was expecting it to be slim built but this was not the case. It is also quite heavy.
The great thing about this is the large screen. I was able to browse the internet with ease and also had a full size keyboard when typing text messages. This took a bit of getting used to as I was so used to having a mobile where the keys where on the phone. After sending about 20 messages I soon got used to it.
The great thing I loved about this phone was the two cameras it had. I was able to take photos like you would with a normal camera but there was also the option of using the front built camera if I ever wanted to take pictures of myself. Not something you get with most mobiles. So this option made it quite unique. The camera is of a very high standard and produced some amazing pictures which I could upload on to the computer. The pictures were better than some quite expensive digital cameras. The camera would also auto focus if I got the picture ready before pressing the button to take the picture.
This phone has FM radio built in which can be used via the earphones which act as an antenna. I woul listen to the radio on the way to work and was of excellent quality with no distortion.
The menu is easy to navigate and everything works by touching the screen. The charge goes very quickly and I was having to charge this every evening over night. I was not overly using the phone and I can guess that someone who uses this phone on a high usage would need to charge the phone sooner.
I had this phone for 18 months and did not have one fault with it. Was very happy.
My friends liked my phone and a couple of people since went out and purchased this. I would highly recommend and in particular the camera.
I had this mobile on a contract and liked the look of it on the internet but as soon as I received it couldn't wait until the end of my contract so could get a new one. The picture makes it look better than what it actually is.
It comes in orange. Not many phones now come in such a hideous colour. I was scared to take it out of my bag when it rang. And also ended up have muscle arms from using it because it is so heavy and bulky.
On the top of the phone just above the screen there is what seems like a bar attached to the phone. Never worked out what this was for. I think it is so you can put some rope around it and put it round your neck. Not something I thought about wanting to do.
Apart from being really bulky there is not alot that can be done with this phone however it is great if you just want a phone to be able to ring and receive calls and listen to music. As it has a radio and you are able to listen to songs that have been downloaded onto it through headphones or through the speakers on the phone. The speakers are not the best though and if you turn the sound up quite a bit the volume sound becomes distorted. Not to be replaced with a stereo. I also did not really like the sound of walking around the streets with the music blarring. So quite often I would listen to the radio through the earphones. This is the only way to listen to the radio as it has an antenna bought into the earphones.
There is a camera with this camera and it is not a bad camera. Not the best and again not to be replaced by a digital camera but takes quite decent pictures in the daylight. Not worth taking night time pictures because even though has a light the pictures still come out really dark. I found. The camera is only 1.3 mega pixel. Alot of newer cameras have at least 5 megal pixal.
This camera can also be used to play games, although I didn't use for this purpose.
In my personal opinion I would not choose this phone because of the following reasons:
1. Not something you want to show off to your friends
2. Very heavy and bulky
3. Looks ugly
4. Camera not very good
5. Only comes in a horrible looking orange
The ipod nano was the first ipod I owned and loved it, until I discovered the ipod touch that it.
It is very light and portable and comes in a variety of colours includings black, blue, red and green. It is a 4cm colour lcd screen and a large toggle wheel.
The screen is used to view the name of the song you are listening to as well as viewing the artwork. There is a menu available to let you create a playlist (only listen to those favourite songs in the order you want to) as well as listening to songs by a particular artist or album. The screen also shows the volume levels and lets you view a list of all your songs on the ipod.
The toggle can be used with one finger and lets you play, fastforward, rewind and pause songs by pressing the relevant button. If you move your finger clockwise or anticlockwise around the toggle it will change the volume quite easily.
This comes in different gb's. GB's identifies how many songs can be stored. 8gb will hold around 2000 songs, whereas a 2gb would hold about 500 songs. 2000 is plenty to store and I have never filled mine and ran out of space. I am always adding and deleting songs as and when my preferences change.
Songs can be downloaded via the computer through purchasing songs on i-tunes or through transferring from a cd.
Because this has a screen it is possible to watch programmes. I have watched episodes of Friends on this while working out at the gym. Makes the time pass faster.
Other features include being able to store thousands of pictures. This is very useful and I can put my holiday pictures on this and then show friends and family with ease.
This can be charged via a usb cable plugged into the computer. It takes a couple of hours to fully charge.
Instead of listening through headphones, a unit can be purchased so that the ipod can fit in and has speakers so everyone can hear. One example is buying an alarm clock where the ipod fits in and when the alarm goes off in the morning the music plays.
Other features include calendars and able to make notes and do to do lists. These I found are all very useful.
This can be bought from lots of high street stores and make a perfect present for that special someone.
I used to think this bag was massive when I was alot younger. Many a day I used to ask my mum for a bag of Iced Gems from the shop. There just doesn't seem as many now.
I came across Iced Gems after a very long time about a couple of weeks ago when they came in a variety box of biscuits.
Everyone has their favourite iced gem, mine is the pink one. Other colours include yellow, green and white.
They are made by Jacobs and come as a 25g bag. There is probably about 20 biscuits in each bag. They are fruit based coloured icing on top of a biscuit round base. They are a low calorie treat at 98 calories per bag.
These are great as part of a childrens lunch box or as a pick me up at 11 with a cup of tea.
They are available from major supermarkets and I don't think these are sold now in individual packs but as part of a multipack or as part of a variety biscuit pack as I found.
These are not my preferable choice of biscuit nowadays but kids with love them as I did. They are not so popular now and I don't think they taste as nice now. Maybe when I was younger it was sugar so liked it.
I have given these a low star count because they are not something I would choose now, the biscuit is a bit cardboard tasting and the icing does not taste very fruity.
More and more people are turning to olive oil as a cooking aid, switching from the conventional aids like vegetable oil and lard and sunflower oil.
Olive oil is seen as a healthy alternative and I agree. I also think that food that has been cooked with olive oil instead of traditional oil does not taste as greasy and fatty. It has not got that taste that makes a meal really unhealthy and drowned in fat.
This oil is obtained directly from olives and tastes rich and fruity.
This oil is perfect as a salad dressing, dipping with bread, and drizzled on vegetable, meat and fish. I also use it to drizzle on spaghetti once it has been cooked. I toss the oil on the spaghetti before serving and gives it a lovely shine as well as a slightly nutty taste.
I also use this for basting joints and marinades.
It comes in a glass bottle and can be stored at room temperature. The oil has 822 calories per 100ml. but I don't imagine anyone to use 100ml at one time. I use a little bit when cooking as goes far.
The is one of the quite expensive range of olive oils but there are alot of far more expensive, so I would say it is middle of the road at around £3 for a 500ml bottle. This would last me a couple of months.
Black Tower is not a bottle of wine you would get out for special occasions, nor is it a bottle of wine that you would produce to your guests on a dinner party.
This wine is very cheap but tastes nice at £3.50 a bottle. It is a sweet white wine and I would class it the same as blue nun and hock.
It is a 70's wine, a wine that has been around for a long long time and has a reputation of not being a quality wine but very cheap.
However my partner and I love this wine on a Friday evening at home while watching the tv. It may be a cheap bottle but it still goes down very well.
This wine is found of the shelves of many supermarkets and found in off licences by the Lambini. This only shows the quality and price range of this wine.
I dont think this is like most cheap wines where you can tell its cheap and very difficult to drink.
It comes in a black bottle with a corked top. Personally I think it is quite a nice looking bottle. Very different from other bottles. Just by looking at the bottle you would know it was Black Tower
Terry's chocolates have been around since 1767 and only use the finest ingredients around the world!
I love the variety in Terrys All Gold chocolate. They are not for those that don't like dark chocolate as you can not choose one that isn't dark chocolate.
A single layer box comes with 20 chocolates. My favourite is the Strawberry Bloom and the Orange Blossom.
Other chocolates includes Terry's Hallmark, Roasted Nut Harvest, Vanilla Flourish, Cappucino Intrigue, Caramel Nectar, Hazlenut In Gold, Burnished Nut Brulee. The chocolates comes in different shapes depending on the flavou. So the orange one is in the shape of an orange segment.
They are not as sweet as other brands of boxed chocolates because dark chocolate is more bitter tasting.
The average calorie content in 25 grams is 125 and 500 calories in 100g. A 20 chocolate box is 200g.
The box of chocolates would make an ideal birthday or christmas present or to offer guests on special occasions. It is a box of chocolates for all occasions and there is bound to be a chocolate for everyone.
These chocolates are available from major supermarkets.
The great thing I love about this game is the story telling while completing loads of little puzzles. Pandora's box is made up a a mystery whereby everytime you complete a puzzle you complete a little part of the jigzaw of the story.
I like the fact there are all sorts of different types of puzzles, the kind you would find in a puzzle book. Some of them are really hard though.
It is very difficult to continue with the story until a puzzle is completed. I found some of them really hard and spent ages on them until I found that the answers are available on the internet. So if I was stuck on one I would go straight to the internet instead if trying to work out the answer without even trying to complete the puzzle.
I wanted to complete the puzzle just so I can see the story develop. This took me a long time to complete, probably about three months but I was not playing it every day.
It is very addictive though.
Love this game
The nintendo ds is a handheld console that is very light and portable and I carry it everywhere with me. it is especially good when on long journeys on the train or travelling on an aeroplane.
The ds has a dual screen. The bottom screen is used to aid gameplay by using the pen that it comes with to play the game while the top screen can only be used to view. So for example if you are playing a trivual persuit, then the question would appear on the top screen and you can choose the answer on the bottom screen using the pen. Usually a multiple choice question.
The ds comes with two pens and one of the pens can be slotted and fitted in a slot on the ds so that it does not get lost.
The ds comes in a range of colours.
wifi - so can play games across the world with other people
The many games played on this include mario, pandoras box and others. Games retail at about £20 and they come as a cartridge which slots in the back of the ds. Gameplay is instant, does not take long to set up a game.
The ds also comes with a case to keep safe and protect from any scratches. As well as a piece of material to clean the screens.
I would highly recommend this as there are plenty of games to choose from to suit everyones tastes from young children to adults.
I love this and it provides hours of entertainment. My favourite game is pandora. I can charge it overnight and then take it with me on the train. It makes the journey so much less stressful and enjoyable. I actually enjoy getting the train now and can't wait to play my games.
My niece had an ipod shuffle for Christmas and she loves it. This is perfect for children because it is very small so they can clip it on their clothes or carry it around. It does not matter too much if it gets dropped because there is no screen that will crack. Although if they do happen to drop it does scratch easy. Putting it in a ipod pouch will protect it.
The sound quality is not affected because of how small and condensed this is. The quality is of superb standard and you can hear every beat clearly and the bass is of good quality although not going to be super bassy.
My ipod is 2gb and silver but these are available in 4gb, 8gb etc as well as different colours like pink and blue.
The cost is around £39.00
The sound can be increased or decreased using the switch on the earphones. This is alot easier than trying to find the volume button when using ipod when jogging.
The switches are easy to navigate as you can pause, play fastforward and rewind. One of the things I don't like about the shuffle is that there is no screen and I don't know what song is coming next and have to spend ages going through the tracks to find which one I want to play. This is a little frustrating but then again I knew this when buying the shuffle.
Music can be downloaded by using i-tunes and purchasing tracks or transferring cd's from the computer to this via i-tunes. It can also be charged via a usb lead. Charging can take a couple of hours for full charge. However once fully charged, the charge lasts me up to a week.
I find this a lot easier to use and operate than some of the other ipods. i.e the touch.
This is a cheap alternative to the Nano.
