Being naturally paler than Casper, and not a fan of wearing darker foundations as they never give me the healthy look, just tango'ed, I use bronzing pearls to achieve a natural healthy glow. Avon's Arabian Glow Bronzing Pearls are definitely my favourite, I first used some years ago when I spent a time being an Avon representative and determined to try every type of make up in the brochure, but this is one of the gems I found and am still using daily. Although not cheap at around £9 (depending on offers available) they are definitely worth the pennies as they last me around a year with daily use. The bronze container is sturdy with a secure screw lid, despite being dropped many a time it hasn't cracked! And the pearls themselves are protected further by a sponge inside the pot. Four different shades of pearls gives a beautiful and natural glow to the skin, just swirl your face of blusher brush to pick up the colour and apply to the areas of your face you want to bronze, I find best to apply a little at a time and build up colour rather than going overboard on first attempt. Maybe not the best product for someone who is already very tanned as they aren't particularly dark in colour (part of the reason I love them) but definitely give your skin a bronzed and healthy glow.
I received my Pandora Silver Bracelet as a 21st birthday present from my grandparents, and after letting the rest of the family in on this secret I received a bundle of Pandora bags on the morning of my birthday. I'll start by saying that I'm really not a jewellery person, with the exception of multiple ear piercings I just don't wear it, bracelets, rings and necklaces just don't interest me. Yet I adore my Pandora, the simplicity of it doesn't cry out for attention, it just sits beautifully. I have 10 charms on my bracelet, none of which I have chosen, they have all been presents from friends and family which means I can look at my beautiful bracelet and remember those closest to me, it has wonderful sentimental value. The bracelet itself is very well designed, the clasp has a grove which can be easily unclipped with one hand to do up or remove without having to ask someone else to do for you, yet when done up it feels really secure. Also the screw on charms are a fantastic idea as they don't fall to the floor with the risk of being lost. There are now hundreds of charms to choose from to personally customise your Pandora meaning you have a piece of jewellery which is uniquely your own. Charms start from a reasonable price of £20 each ranging up to a much more ridiculous price for some of the gold charms. Generally though great value for money, especially when, as mine are, the charms are sentimental.
After getting bored of going for the same 'Smokey eyes' look every time I went out, I decided I wanted a change, something a bit brighter and more colourful so Barry M Dazzle Dust Pots seemed perfect with a fantastic choice of colours with over 60 to choose from . I first purchased three of complimentary colours as they were on a 3 for 2 offer in my local Superdrug, deciding best to practice the new look before a big night out was definitely a good idea, the powder is very fine and easy to spill! Also be careful not to apply too much to your make up brush as it can easily end up over much more of your face than your eye lids. Although after a little practice I absolutely love this product, so many different looks can be achieved just by changing the way Dazzle Dust is applied, whether this be a full on look for a night out with the girls or a subtle splash of colour for the office. I love the choice of bright colours that Barry M offers in this product and the fact that due to the high colour pigmentation they actually look the exact colour once applied as they do in the pots, also have the staying power to last the whole evening, just be careful not to smudge. Overall a fantastic product for vibrant, beautiful eye make up.
Absolutely love this product from Barry M! At £3.99 a go its much cheaper and quicker than going to a salon for great looking nails but gives a fantastic finished effect which looks like it should have taken hours. I'm generally not a huge user of nail varnishes, working on a computer all day they tend to chip really easily and quickly, but when I heard about Barry M's Instant Nail Effects Crackle I just had to try it. The product comes in a standard nail varnish bottle and looks just like any other, only with the crackle effect on the lid. It glides on easily over your base coat, the polish isn't too thick or gloopy as some polishes can be and as soon as applied starts the crackle the show through your base colour. No two nails are the same giving a finished look that could have taken hours to accomplish without this genius idea. Also last really well without chipping, 3 days of typing without chipping is a lot more than other polishes I have tried! The criticism I have with this product is the lack of colour choices, I own in black and silver which I love but would like to see a larger selection on the shelf of my local Boots store, please Barry M keep working on these!!
After having such great results in my skin from using Clearasil's Skin Perfecting Wash, I decided to try the Deep Clean Cleanser with it. It has since become and stubbornly remained part of my daily skin routine. The bottle is clear with a bright blue liquid (slightly toxic looking but don't let this put you off) with a flip lid, slightly creaky but secure, I have taken in an overnight bag plenty of times and never had a leakage. What I like about this as well is that you actually get to use all of the product you purchase, rather than getting three quarters through and not being able to get the rest out! After washing your face apply the Deep Clean Cleanser to cotton wool (carefully as it has the consistency of water) and apply to your face, do not rinse or wash off as it quickly absorbs into the skin. Be careful around the eyes as this product does contain strong active ingredients which can sting the sensitive skin around the eyes if you're not careful. The first couple of times I used I was amazed by how much grime was on the cotton wool as I had already washed my face, this products really does bring out dirt and grit that's hidden deep inside your pores! As I have oily skin this product is perfect for me as it removes excess oil as well, though may be unsuitable for sensitive or dry skin which need these extra oils to prevent from drying out. Using the two combined Clearasil products I very rarely suffer from spots anymore and my skin doesn't have the constant shiny look of excess oil. For oily or problem skin I would definitely recommend this product. It also smells like cucumber, very fresh and a smell I love.
After years as a teenager of suffering oily and 'spot prone' skin, approaching 20 I starting using Clearasil Stayclear Skin Perfecting Wash. Clearasil being a top label for skin care, established in the 1950's so it's had plenty of time to earn its reputation, I thought it was about time I tried it. I was immediately drawn to the skin perfecting wash when I was looking through the Clearasil products as it sounded exactly what I wanted, to perfect my skin, as well as having attractive packaging, an easy to use pump and being available for both normal and sensitive skin. The wash is creamy with small micro-beads to gently exfoliate skin whilst washing, although the product is available for sensitive skin I find the one for normal skin is perfectly fine for me, gentle on skin and non irritating. I use this wash morning and evening, it leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean, removes the excess oils from your skin without leaving it feeling dry or tight as some facial washes can do, and certainly stops my skin from becoming 'shiny' longer than its competitors. I'm not lucky enough to never get spots, but the Skin Perfecting Wash certainly helps, when I do get spots they clear up quickly and are not nearly as hideous as they were before using Clearasil! In my opinion definitely a product worth trying if you suffer from problem skin, I've tried most products on this market and always come back to Clearasil; it's not unreasonably priced, usually around £2.50 a go, but it often on 3 for 2 offers in Boots stores, I tend to stock up!
Ok so the first time I actually purchased Gillette Satin Care Shave Gel in Radiant Apricot I was in a bit of a rush and picked up the wrong tin, though it's probably my favourite mistake! So I've never really bothered using shaving gel before as saw it as little more than a waste of money, but have to say after using the Radiant Apricot I'm a convert and wouldn't want to go without. The gel really foams up meaning you only have to use a little bit so this fab product lasts ages. Smells divine as you lather up and actually does leave skin feeling softer and certainly looking more radiant. I have on occasion stepped out of the shower and taken a minute or two to realize I'm not actually one of the goddesses in the Gillette adverts as this is how this product makes you feel. Ok it can be a little more expensive that some competitors, but I do believe it's a better quality, therefore lasting longer, I am a firm believer that cheaper products can be false economy when you have to use twice as much to get half the result. Wonderful discovery whilst shopping in a rush!
Rowntrees Fruit Pastille Ice Lollies have been a favourite of mine for many years, even liking only four out the of the five flavours! I have fond memories as a child the Fruit Pastille Ice Lollies being brought out on hot summer days to try and cool down and calm down excitable children. Now they're an indulgence when we need to be reminded that summer is on its way even in the bitter cold, it's never too cold for an ice lolly! With sections for the five layers made with real fruit juice (lemon, pineapple, blackcurrant, raspberry and orange) they are refreshingly tasty. And with only 58 calories per lolly it can be an indulgence without any being left feeling guilty. Generally reasonably priced at between £1 and £2 for a pack of four with more special offers in summer time, though I hope I'm not alone in thinking that Rowntrees Fruit Pastille Ice Lollies should be a year round treat.
Dove Go Fresh Anti Perspirant is simply divine! With a choice of lush scents, Cucumber and Green Tea, Grapefruit and Lemongrass, Pomegranate and Lemon or Waterlilly, each smells beautifully fresh and clean. As an anti-perspirant having tried almost every brand on the market I have stuck to the Dove Go Fresh range, keeps my underarms dry and sweat free during any usual activities, it only struggles to keep up with me when I'm running or down the gym (not that this happens much!) and with four scents to choose from your never left without a choice if you tend to get bored easily of the same smell! Some people may find the Dove Go Fresh Anti Perspirant slightly expensive, but if you look around it can often be found on special offers in various supermarkets, local Boots or Superdrug stores, although even when I haven't got time to do this I would still purchase as I believe having fresh 'pits' throughout the day is well worth the extra few pennies!!
Ok so I'm not great with all the technical cyclone technology stuff, but I know a good vacuum cleaner when I use one and the Dyson DC24 is just that. Having finally given up with my old Dyson (it was about 8 years old when I was given it) I decided to invest in the DC24, it seemed perfect for me, small, lightweight and compact, after years of battling to get my old monster up the stairs I thought this would be worth the price just to not have bruised legs! And it was worth it, the first time I vacuumed it looked as though I had new carpets, picking up dirt and dust that I didn't even know was there. What it gives up in size it certainly doesn't in performance! The ball makes it easy to maneuver around furniture and the small head fits into gaps many vacuum cleaners wouldn't. Easy to carry up and use on the stairs and the handle slides inside itself making it compact and easy to store. Overall well worth the investment, and with Dyson reliability I have high hopes this will last for many years.
After years of loving and wearing the Converse Lo-Tops, a couple of months ago I decided to invest in a pair of Hi-Tops, maybe not the best of ideas in hindsight as my shoe collection has almost doubled since my feet found love. The Converse name is one well known within the shoe industry and well established, it began in 1908 with Chuck Taylor joining the 'rubber shoe' company in 1921 and adding his signature in 1923. Originally Chuck Taylor Hi Tops were designed for comfort and durability for basketball players; however the design is now popular as casual footwear. Made with a thick rubber sole and canvas upper, the shoes are very lightweight and let your feet breathe making them comfortable on even warm days. I find these shoes really comfortable for everyday use, though they may not be the best design for sports (ironic as they were originally designed for basketball players) as there is very little support around the ankle. You can tie them up all the way up your ankle to provide additional support if you wish to or laces can be left loose for a more casual look, I like being able to have this option. I find Hi Tops very durable as the canvas is hardwearing and easy to clean, looking after these shoes certainly helps them to last. The Hi Tops are available in a huge range of different colours and designs, with even an option to design and customise your own, from colours on different sections of the shoe and laces, to being able to type your name or a slogan. Available online (this is where you would need to go to design your own) or a wide range of high street retailers, and I don't believe that they are unreasonably priced at around £40 a pair. A shoe I would definitely recommend for casual comfort.
Nina Ricci: Nina Eau de Toilette is a must have for anyone who loves a fresh revitilising scent. Created in 2006 by the Nina Ricci house it has remained a popular fragrance. Aimed at the modern woman and a slightly younger audience than some of Nina Ricci's other scents. Nina has a classic floral-fruity smell. From the first squirt of this perfume you get an energising smell of fresh citrus lemons and limes, after a few moments of this initial burst it settles slightly to a juicy and sweet smell of toffee apples, praline and vanilla mixed sweetly with the floral scent of peonies, finally you feel the warmth and sensuality of apple tree and white cedar, slightly musky but an amazingly wonderful combination, although I believe that the muskiness tones down the sweetness and stops this scent becoming sickly. The original sweet burst soon softens into a sexy and seductive scent that lingers on the skin perfectly. I love this scent as it is very delicate and most definitely not over powering which I find a lot of fragrances can be, yet strong enough to have staying power throughout the day. The advert and the bottle design work well for this product, both suggest a light, fun fragrance that is sweet and innocent, with the scent of apples being a key note in Nina. A perfume I have used for several years now and it remains in amongst my absolute favourite fragrances. I would definitely recommend this as a Spring and Summer fragrance as its light and fresh.
Having had short hair for the last few years I found the Ghd Mini Styler perfect, now having grown my hair and after almost 5 years of daily use I needed a new hair straightener, I didn't even think to look at anything other than Ghds! Having eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new Ghds I couldn't wait to have properly straight hair again. The IV Styler heats up even quicker than my old pair meaning no time waiting around for them, the ceramic plates glide easily through even the thickest hair such as mine without pulling or snagging it and work amazingly so you only need to go over each section once. With Ghds I have never been left with the 'flat, stuck to your head look' that I've found some straighteners can give, running through hair from the root prevents this so your hair can be full of volume as well! Certainly the best item of its kind on the current market. Banishes bad hair days f even the worst kind.
