B is for - Bravenet.com
If you are making a website this is a good place to visit, you can make guestbooks, forums, logos and much more here to add to your own site. Most of them are free unless you upgrade your account.
C is for - Channel4.com/entertainment/games/index.html

E is for Eurogamer.net

This site is best suited to people that watch a lot of films, here you can rate films you like, find out about new films, they have a big collection of images from films. There is also a big community side of things were you can take part in the forum and make and add your own user movies which then will be rated.
H is for - Helium.com
Helium is a very new site I believe which is similar to ciao and dooyoo where you can add your own reviews, but the thing I hate about it is that you have to read two reviews and decide which is the better one, and it dont let you browse yourself and rate them.
I is for - Ign.com
This is another good site for games, theres videos, images and news on loads of consoles. But theres more to it than games, as its fully of other entertainment like Movies, DVDs, comics, cars and much more.

Z is for - Zooplus.co.uk
This site I only found the other after my mum decided to buy a dog basket from them for my dog named lady who is now 11years old and cant get upstairs anymore with your bad legs where she normal sleeps. They did take a few days to dispatch it but the delivery cam quick. The only thing is, ordered under £29 cost about £2.90 to post.
So thats my A-Z of sites I use, hopefully you enjoyed reading and that you have found some new and interesting websites to visit yourself.
Genre = Stealth Action adventure
Developer = UBISOFT
Publisher = UBISOFT
Players = 2 Player
Online = Yes
Age = 15+

Released = October 2006
The first Splinter Cell game started as an exclusive for the Xbox but after only 4 months later in March 2003 it was released on the PS2 and others consoles followed. From then on UBISOFT continued with the series selling on multiply formats where they have won many various awards. This Double Agent game Im reviewing today is the 5th game to appear on consoles which comes into to different versions for the current and next generation consoles.
Taking the role of Sam Fisher again working for the NSA (National Security Agency) set shortly after the previous game Chaos Theory where you first mission is in Iceland. You are pulled out of the mission later on with some bad news, where it seems that you have quit the job because of it.
The next mission starts with you in prison where you are under cover trying to make friends with a member of a terror organization where you must both escape together for you to be invited into the group.
The overall storyline is that youre a double agent helping out the good and bad guys, which through out the game you have to make very difficult decisions like killing an innocent person to be trusted or do you save him and possible get court out that youre an undercover agent.
As usually each Splinter Cell game looks stunning, the previous title toke the console and pushed it to the max, so as you expect this newest game will not look way better as Chaos Theory was already one of the best looking games on the PS2.
Everything is superbly detailed from the characters and background of the levels. The water looks as real as a computer generated water can possible look with its movement and the reflexsions it gives off from lighting hitting it.
As with the shadow and lighting is beautiful as all the Splinter Cells have looked since day one. The only thing I need to point out is the shadow of the character you control. I dont know if the developers missed this or theres a bug, flaw or something as the players character does not have a shadow what so ever, where as all previous games have had this.
The enemies and other characters where as they have a real-time shadow that moves as they do. You may not notice this until I have pointed it out (this is probably not so on the 360 and PS3 thought, for those that are planning on buying for that console).
Another part of the game that is done perfect with the sound effects picking up every different type of surface you walk on down to the reloading and changing of guns/attachments. The music is composed very well, either it being in the game or cinematic it fits in perfect and gives you that extra emotion to go along with any of the changing situations of the gameplay.
The voice acting is extremely well done with your character Sam Fisher voiced by Canadian actor called Michael Ironside who has stared in many films from 1981 that some include Top Gun, Total Recall, Starship Troopers and The Machinist being the most known ones. Usually plays as a tough villain, were as he has played as a secret agent in all of the series of splinter cell games.
The rest of the game characters are also voiced very well and even the non scripted main parts of the storyline is well done with patrolling guards talk to each other and when searching a near by suspicious noise.
From what I recall the controls is the same as previous as UBISOFT have already done a pretty good job with the layout and how it plays with t he pad. The movement is all done with the analogue with different amounts of pressure will either make Sam sneak or move as different speeds. Where as the other analogue lets you control the camera by tilting it in different directions for those times where you need to check for enemies all around before moving. Grabbing onto fences, pipes, ladders and so on are automatically ones walked into and all of his cool moves are performed easily.
The only complaint here is that 2 of the previous moves are not to be seen here, is the move when you can quick switch of a gap at corners, so quickly the enemies dont notice you. That could of been useful at times but the more important one that is missing that was even in the very first game, is the move where you can aim around a corner with a pistil when your back is up against it, which is not only quicker but your less visible and hard to be hit.
Its probably sounding like theres not much different compared to the last game. Some of you may off heard the big gameplay change is being a double agent where you also play as a baddy and have to make difficult decisions (like I mentioned before) and also you get to play as a team on some of the missions with co-op moves. Well although that is true it does not really made a big difference in the gameplay.
Yes you do get to decide if you want to kill a innocent person or let them escape, malfunction a bomb so it dont blow up or do you leave it and possible kill 100s of people. In almost every mission you are given orders by the NSA and the JBA (terrorist) that conflicts with each other, some have small and some have big consequences but you need to decide on which to help. Although it sounds a great idea for fun and interesting gameplay it dont seem to feel any different from the previous games and that even if you replay any missions with more responsibility to the other side theres seem to be small noticeable change if at all the gameplay or storyline and you end up with a basically same ending what ever path you take.
Where as the team-play has done before in 2 player mode with co-op moves, its not been done in single player where the computer teams up with you. Well its nice to see it as its adds a bit more varied to the game but very rarely you have a team mate to work with. Although they can shoot and defend them selfs when needed too the really use of them is to add some new moves to the gameplay, helping the other person to climb up a wall and open the door from other side or do special high jumps and some others and although its well animated it dont add much to the gameplay and is only seen team-up in 3 missions.
Altough the new improved game features if you want to call them that is not up to much but like all the previous games its has got that top quality gameplay its does no thing new to really get exited about.
More on the gameplay for those not played a splinter cell game before:
All splinter cell games are a fully stealth game at heart, of course you can go in guns blazing but your more than likely be killed every time.
What is stealth? Well stealth is all about hiding and not being spotted. If you decide to kill someone your best bet is a silent kill, close combat action or uses of a silenced gun.
To help you stay silent you most move slowing and stay in the shadows, you get a stealth bar that shows how much youre hidden, and to help you can turn off lights and even shoot them out. Of course if its pitch black and they cant see then nor can you. But being a special agent you get to use your gadget goggles, this has 3 different settings. Night vision lets you see every thing clear when its dark but can be blinding in the light, you also have a heat vision that helps to show the body heat of enemies and other hot objects. The last vision lets you see electronic objects easily like cameras.
The use of the goggles and other cool gadgets that attaches to your rifle, they are great fun to use and are quite unique to splinter cell and makes it a deferent type of play to other stealth games.
For those gamers that have played quite a bit of previous splinter cell games will be able to get into the game straight away and understand how its played, meaning you probably complete it in a week or just over. For gamers that never played a splinter cell game just needs a bit of practice and with the help of hints and tips form the game you should still find it fun and completion should take about 2 or 3 weeks.
The replay value of the main game is not that great even though you can play the game more on one side if does not make much of a difference in gameplay. There are a few extra missions you can unlock which are ok but dont that long to do.
The only sections that adds any real replay value is the co-op mode and online. The online mode has a few type of modes and some well designed levels but with not that many players online and only 4 players max in a game, I got only about any extra week of play out of it, although big splinter cell fans may find them spending a lot of time here.
The other section I enjoyed with is also featured in the last game is the co-op, only played about half of this with a mate as we had not had the time to finish it, but the missions are all new and does not follow the main game, its very fun working together and you also get to do special team-work moves not seen in single player.
==BUY OR NOT TO BUY==
If you have an xbox360 or a PS3 then I say get the game on that console as there are not only has better graphics but also have more missions that is set in the daylight.
Where as if you own a ps2 then I would advice you to find it cheap as its not much new to it than the previous game. Seeing as there are next generation versions out now/soon, it seems that the price has already dropped in places and at £15 its a great price.
SCORE & SUMMARY

Rockstar is one of the most talked about game companies with the press and some of its adult games they have released, such as Grand Theft Auto and Manhunt. Here is another game originally called Bully until they changed the tile of it because critics did not think it was suitable name and image to be selling the game as that, where as its not changed to Canis Canem Edit which is Latin for dog eat dog.
The story follows a 15 year old boy called Jimmy Hopkins, which has just been dumped at the gates of Bullworth Academy by your mother which is going on a year long honeymoon cruise with her newest 7th husband. After being picked on as youre the new student, you get to the boys dorm where you meet two of the main many games characters, Gary and Pete. Pete is a shy, has not real friends, where as Gary said he plans to run the school as acted as a sort of a guide at the beginning of the game, telling you about the different types of students/groups.
Through out the game you given some simple tasks by students, building respect and taken on the bullies yourself being as youre a tough kid, with more and more people looking up to you, you seem to be happy and in control but there is something going on that your not fully aware of and by only playing and completing the game you will find out.
There are over 80 characters (did a quick count) in the game as well as other civilians that walk the streets that every single one is well designed and detailed, which makes the game and its characters feel real with each being unique in how they look but also their personality. Rockstar has done a great job with the animation and how the AI works. If youre walking around the school area, you will notice that characters will walk to class, talk to each other and even pick on the younger kids.
The school is well built and has different area to it, each one you can explore that includes the boys/girls dorm, gym, dinner hall, rugby pitch and so on although its not as big a world as Rockstar's other game Grand Theft Auto which many of your will compare to it, being as it is a similar game but in a smaller dose and aimed at a little younger gamers. Once some of the missions are completed, you can explore the Bullworths town and others as you unlock them.
Overall the graphics is very good but you do get fogging in the distance like get with a lot of this type of games. Fogging is what developers use when a game has to display a lot of detail with all the buildings/landscapes and objects in the distance the computer needs a lot of memory to display this and have the game running smoothly, as most consoles does not have loads of memory they create fog to block of the detail in the distance other wise the game would run very rough. The fogging is not a big problem but when on a room of building you cant see very far and does not give you a great view as seen in other games.
Voice acting is excellent with each individual being clear with different accent and well written scripted humorous storytelling right through out the game. The sound is also spot on as well as the music that fits in with the missions and are also played in areas of the game.
Controls I found pretty simple to use, with weapons and items can been scrolled through while running or even on a bike. Slingshot and other items can easily used as the lock-on is quick and accurate to aim at people. Where as there is a manual aim also thats best for long shots or hitting objects.
The fighting controls has been done in a simpler version of another Rockstars game called The Warriors which is excellent and lets you do lots of varied attacks. As well as the simple block you can do different combos that you must unlock first. These are very easy to do with just one button uses by pressing it a number of times or holding it down. You can also grab someone with opens up a few other attacks.
There is a form of special finishers done in a way of taunts, when your opponents is low in health you can perform your move which is chosen randomly but are quite funny. These are moves like doing a Chinese burn, giving a dead arm and spitting on your hand and rubbing it in there face. (Ah that brings back memories)
There is an in game clock that runs along with the gameplay. The clock is displayed in the top left hand corner and depending on the time there are different missions available.
The day starts at 8:00, where you have some time to explore and interact with people/objects, there are 2 classes a day one at 9:30 and then at 1:30. You can attend this classes which you take part in as a mini game (more on that later). If you play Truancy, Prefects and Cops will chase you and if captured you be automatically sent to class. After 11pm there is a curfew, were as if court you get sent to your dorm. After this time most of the main/side missions and shops are closes. After 8pm you can choose to go to sleep by clicking on your, which will rise up and early at 8am but if you decide to stay up by the time the clock hits 2am you will fall unconscious into a sleep and wake up at the same spot with your items stolen.
Although you do follow a storyline you do get to choose which missions to do as there is usually about 3 available that will open up more once done. Also missions will earn to some cash, as well as doing side missions to earn that extra. Some side missions are a paper round, lawn mowing and other which characters will come to you and ask you a favor. All of these are very simply but still good to try out and as there are loads about, you shouldnt get bored straight away. With the money that you earn, it can be spent a number of things like buying new bikes, weapons in the form of stink bombs, eggs, marbles and some others that you unlock in the game. Being as you control a teenager you dont get the traditional weapons like pistols, machine guns and so on, so it a good change to see some interesting items and unique gadget guns. As well as the above you can also customize your character by buying haircuts, clothes and even illegal tattoos as hes only 15 remember. There are a great large number of items of clothes to buy from a few shops, where u can buy head, top, legs, feet and also items for your wrist. If youre a person like be you be spending a lot of money here if you like to have fresh look every now and again, with many styles you can have jimmy to look like for e.g.: army, school, punk or mix them up and have your own style.
The missions it self are not a difficult challenge with only a few you may have to re-try. Seeing as they are varied and fully with humor it does not get boring. There are a number of 6 different classes you can go to which I said before are played with a mini game. Successful completed a class the difficult rises for the next time but I find only 2 of the classes quite hard. The Chemistry class you must press buttons in order as they come across the centre of the screen, the Shop class (to do with bikes) is similar but harder. Photography is pretty easy for the lesson you let out of the class room to take pictures of different scenes or building. Where as the English class you must make as many words as possible with 6 jumbled up letters (simple to understand but the hardest to complete)
Where as the classes may get a little repetitive you get gain rewards if successfully done with gym giving you new fighting moves to perform, chemistry gives you the skill to make stint bombs, itching powder and so instead of having to buy them. Where as the others likes you unlock items to do with photos, a bonus when you kiss girls, new bikes and better skill to apologies to bullies and adults to leave you alone.
There is a lot of neat tricks and programming Rockstar has done which makes the game a very fun place to messing about in. Where as the cut-scenes are used with the games-engine so any clothes you are wearing will be shown in the scenes so no thing will load out of place. Some of the cool actions you can do are gives people wedgies, push them in lockers or trash cans and give swirls. There are loads more in the form of using any sink to fill up a balloon to make a water balloon, kicking footballs, sliding down rails, dropping skins of a banana after eating it for people to slip on.
One thing I forgot to mention is that in the game the season changes twice one to Halloween and one to Christmas. When this happens all the characters change there clothes to suit the season as well as the snow falls and the whole school is decoration to go with it. So as you can see Rockstar has put a lot of thought and effort into the game, even the skate board slides about in the icy winter. (Hows that for realism)
Ok this is one of those games the storyline is very short, probably taking you 3 or 4 days if you only did the many missions. But doing that you will only experience about half of the fun and exciting times the game has to offer.
So by exploring and taking time out you can enjoy many of the side missions, as well as doing bikes races. Searching the school and the town you will find, these types of hidden packages as seen in GTA. Here you have rubber bands to find, garden gnomes to smash and also many more that if all found will unlock some cool interesting outfits.
There is also a carnival that you visit about 3 times in the main missions but you can enter when ever you like, which has a rollercoaster, big wheel, freak show, shooting range, go-kart racing and more. Some of them are only really worth checking out once but others are great fun that will also earn to tickets that you can exchange for items, the best being the scooter. Completing the 5 tracks of go-karting will unlock races on the streets which them unlocks the go-kart permanently to travel around in at fast speeds.
With everything the game has to offer, there's fun to have with arcade machines that are in the ticket exchange tent and also in you save point handouts around the towns, which some are quite odd but fun all the same.
Although it can be completed in 3 or 4 days it token me 2 weeks to complete the last main mission as with all the replay value through out the game that I enjoyed. The total completion I got is 92% and after the rolling credits end you start chapter 6 called endless summer which is where you can continues your game and finish any missions/goals that you missed.
==BUY OR NOT TO BUY==
This is one of those games that is a must to experience, not one for graphics or lastability but certainly has something special to afford and should be remembered as a great game. With many shops/sites selling it for amazing price there is no reason not to buy with £15 or less its a great well spent game.
SCORE & SUMMARY
Graphics - 8/10, Very good animated and good graphics that fits in with the game.
Sound/Music - 10/10, excellent sound, music and voices is spot on.
Controls - 9/10, very good controls, with a simpler fighting system of The Warriors game.
Gameplay - 9/10, great gameplay, great humor, fun, fun and more fun.
Replay Value - 8/10, very short storyline but has a lot of extras.

Genre = Building Simulation

Released = March 2003
There have been a few Jurassic Park films released with some games based on them and a load of others that was just based on the theme. This game Im review is make by an Australian developer company by the name of Blue Tongue which has been making games since 1995. In 2004 they were acquired by THQ, which was after the release of this game which is why it was publishes by Konami instead.
This game does not follow the storyline from the movie but instead takes the aim of the park, which is to extract DNA from fossils and hatch dinosaurs and keep them in a zoo type them park where visitors can come and pay to watch this new type of trilling entertainment.
The graphics are no thing special, theres no amazing effects, stunning lighting or shadows. Not like you would expect like in the top games out now but the game does have some good details and animation. If you take the time and zoom into the action you can see there is good amount of detail on the dinosaurs with its skin color and teeth but what is nice is the animation. As you watch them they will work about, drink water, run and hunt its prey it does seem realistic.
The game does take the theme tune of the film, which you will hear playing when on the main menu. Apart from that, the music (what of it!) is pretty poor. The same goes for the voices also, where as the game gives you tips and emails there are the images of the actors that played there part in the film accompanied with a voice. Although Im not sure if the real actors from the films did the voice overs (probably not) I found it poor either way, the quality was average at best and who ever did them couldnt of put much effort into it.
The only thing that comes close to being good in audio is the sound with the dinosaurs all have there unique sounds and when T-Rex roars he sounds a right vigorous beast that ever walked this earth.
The controls are explained to you through the tutorials and also what all the icons in the menu mean. The game is building simulation like the tycoon and theme games (e.g. Them Park World) where you use scroll around the screen, turn the view, zoom in and all the interaction is done by clicking on structures and using the pop up menus to access info, dig sites, research and so on.
As long as you have followed the tutorials which are pretty simple, you should know the ins and outs of the menu with a 30mins -1 hour of gameplay. You do get to take control of a jeep and a helicopter, so there are quite a few things to remember but there is always an on screen display of the buttons to remind you.
The only problem that accrued was that when I was selecting the icons on the menu sometimes jumped to the wrong one.
The game is slightly varied with what you do through out. You have the main building and maintaining of running a Jurassic them park, from extraction DNA from fossil that you find or buy, so you can then hatch dinosaurs. Once you have at least 1 inside a cage you can open the park to earn money from visitors. From this money you can do research to improve viewing of your enclosures and other structures and items to keep your customers happy like gift and food shops, to other things to do with security and cures to dinosaurs diseases.
Thats the basic of these type of building simulation games but theres a bit more to Jurassic park then the others. You also have a rangers station that has a helicopter that you can give orders to or fly yourself. The reason for the use of this is, is a number of useful actions can be taking like shooting a dinosaur with cures to the diseases that you have researched, sedate them if you want to move them and even a deadly bullet if a carnivore goes on a rampage, along with a few other actions.
There are two attractions called safari and balloon ride which not only earns you money from visitors but you can take control of this also but this time you have a camera which is used for taking pictures of you dinosaurs which sometimes are bought by papers to earn some extra cash.
Im not a great fan of building games as I found they get boring very quickly but being quite interested in dinosaurs I found it quite entertaining at time, as especially when you get a new dinosaur into the park for the first time. Although there are 25 types of dinosaurs available in the game which is a good number the only problem is that you have 3 out of 6 dig sites in a game meaning you only can get about half of the species in the park. So the only other way to see the other types would be to start another game from scratch and chose to have the other dig sites.
The research I would like to also mention about, as with other game of this type you must research projects for you to unlock the others first but here they are already unlock for you to research which does not give you any surprises along the way as you can read about all of them before researched them.
As well as the building sandbox type play as its called now a days, you also have 12 missions to completed if you wish, that include rescuing visitors, killing all the rampaging dinosaurs, taking photographs of them and running a open safari park (which is all the dinosaurs are together instead of in different groups. Most of theses are time limits and can be quick hard to do but is a good challenge.
What also adds replay value, although dinosaurs enthusiastics will more likely play the mode which is unlocked after completing all the tutorials and missions. This is called B-site think of it as a private dinosaur park where no visitors are allowed. Here you have no money so you can build as much as you like. There are not much that you can build as a lot of it is for visitors which is not needs for this mode, so it lest you hatch dinosaurs anywhere you like and its just like view them in the natural surroundings as you watch them hunt each other and play together. I really enjoyed this mode as I could see how they would acted normal, where as making a load of raptors they would stay as a pack and it was great to see who would win when verses a t-rex.
Completing the game should take about 2 weeks and you may get another 1 or 2 weeks out of it if you really enjoy the B- Side mode and are quite fascinated in dinosaurs.
==BUY OR NOT TO BUY==
A must try for park type fans and dinosaur lovers. If you decide to buy then get it cheap. If you can find it.

The very popular street racing series by the name of Need for Speed (NFS) started way back in 1994, see in releases of about 15 games around many consoles, handheld games and also the PC. The game Im reviewing to day is called Most Wanted, which you will see the return of police chases along with its high speed racing and Car customization.
The Story starts off with you a street racer with a heavy modified BMW M3 GTR arrives at a city called Rockport. You aim is to become the best know driver which you most beat each racer ranked on 15# Most Wanted list know as the Blacklist. Taken on the 15th racer called Razor he sabotages your car before the race which ends in you being nicked and also losing your car. Shortly after being released you find out that Razor has taken the top place on the Blacklist using your car and so starting from the bottom with a new car and some help from a new friend you work your way up the list to finally race Razor and get your prized BMW back.
Where as the 2 previous NFS games were all based at night, this time around they have deiced to set it all in the day time which I think was a great idea as the graphics look stunning in the game. Every thing looking crisp and slick, the cars, glass, signs and other metal objects have this shiny glare of them reflecting the suns light. Theres even rain that pours down in races although this does not effect your handling that Ive noticed, another cool effect is when you are driving out of a tunnel theres this bright beam of light at the end as if it was a wall of light to give you the effect of your eyes adjusting to the sunlight as you leave the darkness.
Ones again the city is open to drive around in thats very well designed from curved roads and straights throw the city with short cuts along the way to take advantage from when racing. There are also wide big open roads and highways that are great to test out the top speeds of your rides.
The cars are of course the stars of the game, with each and every car very well detailed with kits on or as standard. The reflections off the cars are on par even with the Gran Turismo games. Only down side of the graphics is the traffic it self with them being quite plane and dull.
The cut scenes this time around are worth watching as not only they are extremely top quality but also follows a good storyline.
The soundtrack contains about 25 songs from rock, hip-hip and techno, with none of the songs Ive hear before and very few groups/singers Ive heard of but still has some good tracks but more importantly then fit in to this racing scene.
The sound as all ways it excellent with the roaring of the engines and the dump values and turbo going as you change gear. The voice acting is pretty well done also with many characters through the game where as only one would come close to being called famous being to woman that helps you out through the game acted by Josie Maran who has been a model since aged 17 that have also stared in films like Van Helsing and The Aviator.
The controls are pretty much the same as another other racing game but where as you have to use the analogue stick to control the steering as the d-pad is used to access map, shops and the phone. The one thing that I notice about the controls is did not respond correctly at times when changing the gears manually or using the special slow-mo turning ability and the only way around this was to press on the button a bit harder instead of a quick press.
Another thing that annoyed me was that there was no button to change the view from which you drive from, instead you had to go into the options when paused. As I prefer the inside view where you can only see the bonnet, I sometimes would like to change view just to check out my ride and would have been better if they added this to the pad.
Like I said before its an open city where you can drive around freely and enter any race you feel like. To challenge each of the blacklist racers you most first complete a number of races as well as milestones.
The races include the Lap and point 2 point races known as circuit and sprint, then theres the drag race. There are another 2 type of races that are brand new to the series which as called Speed Trap and Tollbooth. In the Speed Trap race you most race through a number of speed camera at the fastest speed you can, the winner is the one with the highest totally cumulative score. Tollbooth is the only race where its just you vs the time, you are given a time limit to get to the each tollbooth where as getting the them will give you extra time, this one may sound boring to some of you but this one was my favorites as its usually set on the highways which really lets you test out your speed as you fly pass everything in a blurry.
The Milestones that you most complete is to do with police pursuits that they have brought back in. Racing around the city at high speed will of course attracted attention from the police where they chase you down and try and stop you which if court you will have to pay fines. The more heat you get from them a bar will rise and at points will get harder in the form of FBI cars and racing version cops and even roadblocks, spike traps and latter on helicopters. The milestones you need to complete are things like ram 10 police cars, escape in less than 2 minutes, last for 4minutes or long, dodge at least 5 roadblocks and so on.
These milestones do get harder as you progress as well as do the races. The Police pursuits are fun to do and are chance from just racing all the time. Along with escape in from them you can also your own type of rock blocks, dotted around the place are destructive buildings and scene indicated by red arrows to show which part you most drive into for the structure to fall down on top of the following vehicles behind you to damage and stop them dead in the tracks.
Onto the customization now of the cars, after defeating each of the blacklist racers you unlock not only new cars to buy but also body kits, performance parts and visual. Like the cars themselves the body kits are very detailed and make them look much better, although I found some of the rear of the kits look to odd and the problem is the kit goes on as a whole one, where previous NFS games and other racing games lets you add bumpers, side skirts separately. The spoilers and bonnets have a very large amount to buy from which is great as you can really personalize it to your way.
Replay value varies depending on how much you really enjoy the racing, as ones you completed the main game there is no more items to unlock by playing it again.
I started it a second time as I wanted to try out some more of the cars, although theres only 32 cars in the game, they are pretty good ones. Only complaint about the cars is that some dont really fit into street racing games really like Aston Martin, Corvette, Lamborghini and Porsche. I guess it nice to see a few different cars compared to more usual standard cars but I think they gone over the top a bit by having too many from the same make. Where as theres 5 Porsches , 4 Mercedes and 3 Lamborghinis, as they pretty much look similar I would have been best cut some out and have more other makes and cars which will add more Varity to the section.
What also adds to the replay value are the 2 player modes that include all the types of races as well as being able to use your career cars to race with. If you looking for value other than 2 player and playing career mode again theres the challenge mode where you have to complete races and milestones just like the ones seen in the main game but your given car to race in. Complete each one of this unlocks a few more to compete in and finally successfully completing all 64 challenges will unlock another 2 cars.
The career mode should take between 1 and 2 weeks to do. Although the PS2 version has dropped the online play but you still can have 2 player modes and challenges will extend to many more happy days of racing.
==BUY OR NOT TO BUY==
Myself not being a fan of NFS games I really enjoyed this one and is the best one Ive played (note: Ive not played NFS: Carbon). Great racing, stunning cars and the return of the police chases are funny. A must buy game if you like street racing games.
SCORE & SUMMARY
Graphics - 10/10, stunning cars and realistic looking reflections.
Sound/Music - 8/10, music is not as good as other games but sound is top class.
Controls - 8/10, easy to use with good arcade drift handling.
Gameplay - 9/10, great fun, especially now they brought back police chases.
Replay Value - 7/10, lots of customizations but no online play.

== Introduction ==
As always Sonys consoles and some of the games mainly the Gran Turismo series seem to always get delayed near its release day. So its no surprise that the next generation console the Playstation 3 has been delayed. So 2 questions you maybe asking yourself why has its been delayed and should I still wait to buy it or get a Microsoft Xbox 360, or even a Nintendo Wii?
Before I give you my answers for those questions I firstly will tell you more about the ps3 itself.
== Sony/Playstation ==
Playstation 3 is the 3rd games console made by Sony; common sense tells you that from the name. There first step onto the games market was the PS1 which was released in 1994/95 around the world and became extremely popular and was the best selling console with over 100 million sold, until the release of the 2nd console PS2 released in 2000 and have sold over 110 million units.
As you can see Sony and its consoles have been loved by gamers, with leading the last two generations of gaming, the seventh generation is now upon us with Microsoft and Nintendo already unleashed there consoles with only the PS3 being released in Japan and America at the moment.
Along with the Xbox 360 the PS3 has a massive 3.2 GHz coming from its processing unit which is at the top specs of the PCs some of you may have with the Nintendo Wii only having a quarter of that.
== SIXAXIS Bluetooth Controller ==
The controller is wireless along with the other two console controllers. It keeps the design of the pad of both the previous Playstation and its 2 analogue sticks. The great design makes it looks cool and more important its easy to use with out having any buttons in awkward places with its grip and comfortable to use will let you play for hours (if you wanted to)with out having much if any hands or fingers aching. The rumble feature the pad had, I found good as it gave me that more real fell when a gun fired or the car crashed. But this had to be removed from the PS3 pad as it conflicted with the new feature called SIXAXIS which lets you control say a plane or a car by tilting the pad in different angles with out having to use buttons. I dont think many games at the moment fully use it in there games if at all but we should see some cool ways in how to use it. I believe that the team behind Metal Gear Solid 4 are doing some thing special with it.
== Hardrive ==
The PS3 comes with a 60gb hardrive where as the xbox360 only has a 20gb, you be going to need this to save demos, music, photos and other download stuff to make sure you have loads of space for it instead of using memory card which some of you that had the PS2 had to buy extra cards, although I could cope quite easy with 1. The Hardrive is easily detachable if you wanted to take saved data of any kind over to a mates house which will be also lighter and smaller than PCs hardrives.
== Data Media ==
The PS3 data media has been upgraded from the PS2s DvD-rom to a Blu-ray which is the newest technology in storing data. A Blu-ray disc can hold 25gb (5x bigger than the PS2) on a single disc plus theres dual layer and also double sided ones that takes up to 100gb. Which is a massive amount, as you could fit 5 PS2 games onto 1 blu-ray disc. Comparing it to the Xbox 360 which uses HD DvD discs which starts with a single layer of 15gb ranging up to 60gb.
What this means is the developers can put as much as possible into there games with out going over the limit of data the discs can hold, which resulted in getting rid of some data or lowering the quality of the sound, graphics AI and so on. As they have mass amount of data to work with this means that we will get much more details in the graphics, more realistic sounds, voices, improved AI, more game modes with lot more levels and so on.
Blue-ray disc has also better quality in high definition then the normal HD disc which is why they have now released Blu-ray players as of June 2006 and Dvds come in Blu-ray format.
== RSX Reality Synthesizer ==
The RSX is a graphics processing chip design especially for the PS3 by NVIDIA and Sony. It can display up to 1080p, (Xbox 360 is 720p or 1080i) which means it has a resolution of 1920 × 1080 which makes up of over 2 million dots of pixels, thats one hell of a lot of detail. The p in1080p is progressive scan which updates every other pixel and then does the others, where as 1080i is interlaced will update every other line before going back to do the rest but this can cause flicker and various kinds of distortion. Progressive Scan will give you a much smoother look to the images. To make the most of the quaity of picture you will need to buy a HD TV (High Definition) that will have Interlaced and/or Progressive Scan for either of the HD consoles.
== Cell Processor ==
As I said before its a 3.2GHz and is along the same speed as the best Pcs but unless Pcs that have 1 chip, sometimes a dual processor but here the PS3 is very unique. It has eight, yes thats right eight processing chips that runs simultaneous to make up its core cell processor of the PS3 brains.
Where as playing a game a PC has to it single chip work every element of the gameplay, but by doing this section things may not play right with say the weather effects in the game taking a lot of power away from the character details or the opponents AI. Not so with the PS3 as it will assign tasks to each of the 7 chips, where as the eighth will be a back up to the others. So say be giving the job to a chip of the AI, 2nd one to make the shadow and lighting as real as possible, 3rd one for the audio and another to keep the online network going and so on. The cell makes it much easier to run the game and give you the best this generation can offer by working as a team with all its chips operating efficiently.
== Online Capabilities ==
The PS2 online was ok but nothing special, it let you play games online and some games also supports online chat rooms, forums and a use of a headset. Microsoft has been very good with its online features with chat rooms, friends lists, downloads and much more. This time around thought the PS3 has greatly improved to about the same standards, there are no subscription fee unlike the Xbox. However developers are allowed to charge which more likely to be MMOs (Massively Multiplayer Online Game) like EverQuest, Guild Wars, World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy.
The PS3 will also let you use an internet messenger type of service, chat rooms, Sony webcam. Downloadable content will be available in forms of demos, maps, levels, cars, modes and so on which will add to replay of games. Some of this you may have to pay for along with you can download fully PS1/PS2 games that are available at very cheap prices.
== Other Features ==
-Up to 7 simultaneous wireless controllers are supported along with the PSP used as additional pad or even as a rear mirror in the up coming F-1 game.
-Backwards compatible with PS1 and PS2 games.
-Memory Card Adaptor, which lets you transfer data from your PS2 cards, although you can save PS2 game data straight to the PS3 hardrive.
-Internet browser with a Sony shop to buy or get free demos and trailer plus much more.
== So why has the PS3 been delayed? ==
Well put simple the parts that make up the blu-ray rom have been difficult to get holed of and have slowed down the process of manufacturing enough consoles for release and have ending up sending all the available units to Japan and the US at only 100,000 and 400,000 units being shipped.
Released on the 11th of November 2006 over in both country but being delayed until a few months later here in the U.K, with the official date just announced for the 23rd of march 2007 with not long to go now with a price tag of £425 for the 60gb version.
== Should you still wait to buy it or not? ==
I think I really depends on one question, which is: are you a young gamer?
If you are a very younger game I would say go with the Wii as the Nintendo is made more for them and will have more fun out of it with most of its games aimed at children.
But for those that are more older and a more of a big gamer then I say go with the ps3, although its cost more than the Xbox 360 you getting more for you money.
+The blu-ray rom cost £1000 alone if you were to buy a stand alone blu-ray dvd player.
+Hardrive is 3 times as big as the 360 (which Ive heard gamers have also most filed them up)
+A much conformable easy to use pad
+More power with its 8 chip cell processor
+Sony has always been the leader with a load of great companys backing it with amazing exclusive games.
I really think its best to wait for the ps3 as it has loads to offer, along with some stunning exclusive games-
---Exclusive Launch Games---
-Motor Storm (stunning visuals with realistic mud spatter)
-Resistance: Fall of Man (FPS with amazing AI)
---Other Exclusive titles to be released---
-Metal Gear Solid: Guns of the Patriots (Amazing series with twists and turns in the storyline)
-Stranglehold (A John Woo game sequel of the classic film Hard Boiled staring Chow Yun-Fat)
-Gran Turismo (The most realistic racing game packed with tons of cars)
-Devil May Cry 4 (Capcom's half man, half devil and half bad, half good character returns)
-Warhawk (Plane flying game that fully using the new tilt feature)
-Lair (Action, adventure game that also using the tilt feature but to control dragons)
---As well as some previous exclusive Xbox 360 games coming to the PS3---
-Saints Row 2 (One of the Xboxs greatest games decides to jump on board of the PS3)
-Full Auto 2: Battlelines (Great car combat game sequel Now only PS3 exclusive title)
-The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion (Massive open world game with add extra content)
-F.E.A.R. (One of the PCs top FPS also to come to PS3)
Thanks for reading, hope this was interesting to read and have helped you to decide if you want to buy the ps3 or have at least given you info you never heard about before.

The Godfather was a film released in 1978 that stared some great actors like James Caan and Robert Duvall which all did voice overs for their characters in this game. Electronic Arts being one of the biggest video game developers and publishers got the license to make the game and started the project in 2004. Unfortunately Marlon Brando died later that year only complete a small percentage for his part in the game so that had to use another actor to do the rest of the voice over although you do not notice a difference. Many films to games have turned out to be very bad and have only sold really to do with the license and its fans of the film, so please read on and see if this is another one of those or a rare moment where the game shines as brightly along side its films counterpart.
The story follows closely to the films plot, letting you play out main events or by watching threw cut-scenes but instead of casting your role as one of the films characters, you are put into the shoes of a new member of the family.
The game begins with a member of the Corleone Family being killed; this person is your characters fathers. This happens to you when only a little boy, the story then jumps many years ahead to wedding of your mothers, where she asked if you could be looked after and brought into the gang to be protected. At this point you get to create your characters facial features as well as the body and the clothes you wear, so the Don sends one of his many men to find you which is in a ally way in a bit of trouble. He helps you out by fight the 2 men off you and then the game introduces you to the controls and the basics of fighting.
As the story unfolds you meet more of the films characters and do varied missions as you progress up the ranks from Outsider to even Don of New York while you battle it out with 4 other families that run different locations of the game.
When I first seen a trailer of this game I was surprised at how good the graphics were not only because of how life like the characters looked to the actors that played in the film but also because that I find most developers do not put enough money and skill into the it as they know they will make money from the films title and by spending less they will earn more. Now playing the game I can see how much time they put into the game to make it look as real as possible with some of the best graphics Ive seen.
Not being a fan of the film and only watching it once I still could tell which characters I noticed from the film as well as others even though I did not know there names but they being so detailed from the lines and curves that create their faces were spot on. You could even tell their emotions from them if they were cheerful, sad or angry and at times I did think I was watching the film and not a computer generated game, even my create a character did not look out of place as with most games they are not detailed to the usual standards.
The streets are littered with people and cars doing the daily business which adds to the realism of the busy cities, as well as the real rubbish of newspapers blowing about. All the people will look different that you see about although you will come across some shopkeepers and pedestrians that have been re-used. The vehicles in the game are not well details as the games set in the 1940-1950s there were not much design to the cars then and most of them do look very similar but the damage modeling is gone very well from the smoke and flames that burst out off ones it taken to much damage which results in an explosion that engulfs the car and others around it.
As you play the game you get to visit many shops and venues like butchers, barbers, bakers to bars, hotels and warehouses. Even though these places are well designed with even objects you can brake like the windows, vases, cash registers and so on but once you seen one place say for example a hotel the next hotel will most be the same layout.
With other games in this genre you get a wide Varity of music through the game to listen to not so much here, which the only most obviously reason is that as its set in and around the 1950s, any music would be out of place. Although it is fairly quiet you do get the godfathers main theme song playing at times or some other soft melody that fits in just perfect.
The sound is reasonable from the many guns that have a unique noise that sounds realistic to the loud boom from cars that explosion that sends you flying back. Then theres the car sounds and even the footsteps sound that alter as run along different surfaces. The main thing that shines here though in this section is the voice acting as I said before, most of the actors from the film did the voice overs for the characters which really adds to the game and makes it more genuine and fun to play the game. Not only that all the main people in the game are voiced but even every single person on the street you can talk too.
The controls are pretty easy to use and to remember, theres no slowing down of the pressing of the button to the action on screen as you get with some games. The basics are shown to you at the beginning and you are given hints of other moves/actions through the game.
The fighting itself is done using the right analogue similar to the EA boxing game series Fight Night ., at first I found it a bit difficult and thought the idea did not fit into the game, but not after long I was on top form and throwing numerous attacks and the combos seem to follow much better this way. So it was an excellent idea to go with using the analogue stick to fight instead of usually a boring tradition of button bashing of 1 or 2 face buttons.
The vehicles control/handling are rather good apart from they can be slightly over sensitive but you will also get use to that. The controls are remarkably high with the only other bad point I can recall is that when you in a shoot out with a big mob it can be difficult to find the correct weapons you want to change to and you can end up being shot a lot or using the wrong weapon. It would have been better if they assigned the different types of weapons to the d-pad as there are melees, projectiles and guns which can take some time scrolling thought them.
The games allows you to rise up the ranks of the family, become more important member and gaining respect from not only the other gangs around you but also the people you pas by in the streets. To do this you are giving simple missions to do at first like collect some money thats shopkeepers owe to the family. By intimidating them as they call it, you smash up there shop, threaten customers and even get you hands a bit dirty by throwing a few punches his way. As long as you dont over do it as they fight back, that they be so scared they give you money to stop and then you will receive a weekly income from them.
As you taken over more shops, you come to those that earn more money so you be expected to be more skillful as there be rival gangs in the buildings, around the street protecting there businesses.
As well as these legitimate businesses, you do get some that are hiding, concealed illegal activities like gambling, fake money print, underground fights and weapon selling. Some you can just enter by walking in but others need to have the backdoor unlocked before by taken over the shop serving as a front. Ones taken over this illegal activities which they call Rackets you will earn more money then usual and there are even warehouse to take over but be warned as these will be crawling with enemies packed with heavy firepower. These missions are the hardest to do and are probably best to leave until later when you some heavy stopping power of your own.
As well as all this different types of places you can take over, it is fun but can get repetitive and have the main missions to do which are more developed and well done as they mostly scenes from the film, which can contain fight, shoot out, drive-bys to car chases and even the 1 occasion where you play a bit of a stealth part. Although this plays out well and is a great mission, if they added the of this to the game then it would totally chance it but as there is just the one then its nice to have a bit of a verity to the game.
What I liked I lot about this game that it has a small amount of RPG element to it from the point of improving your stats. From every action you do in the game gains you respect from it either killing someone, exporting businesses and completed missions. All earning you a different amount, where as using a baseball bat instead of a gun will earn you a lot more for the kill. With you gaining respect you will level up, that gives you an skill point that can be spent on improving 1 of a few categories that including, fighting(more damage + health), shooting (quicker reload + faster aim) and more. Each one can be upgraded 10 levels taken you to the max overall level of 60 as there are 6 in all.
With all this money you get from your weekly income, you will need to spend it. Theres the many safe houses doted around New York which ones purchased you can than save your game there along with the more expensive pads will have lots of ammo and guns to restock on. You can also buy weapons/ammo that youre low on from dealers that are located around the place and some of these people will sell you upgrades for your guns which does com in very helpful in harder missions but of course will cost you a lot to acquire.
What I also enjoyed was the execute moves which you can do to anyone that has low life as long as your standing close enough. There moves are like the quick kills from the punisher game (for those that have played it), although not as violent. Each one of theses is performed by using different weapons, either a bat that will take a few swipes at the head of your rivals, or pistil will result in a bullet to their back and another one to there head or so on. There are many of theses, some that dont even use a weapons and just your hands combined with the scene around you, I let you figure theses out yourself. Not only does it look cool and fits in with the aggressive mop scene but also by performing these actions you will gain more respect than a normal kill and also use less bullets up.
Although the game can get a bit repetitive, if you mix the main missions up with taking over business and taken down the other 4 rival families you will have get fun and at times I found it can get quite addictive. You find its good know that the cars although old fashion they are still good to drive and its feels stylish when hand braking around corners, when its gets busy on the roads as it does its, you can use police sirens or a horn on a car and the traffic will more out of the way, as many games in this genre does not have this and works very well here.
The replay value is very high as not only you get to take over many types of business, warehouses, rackets and so on you also get other things like hitman missions where you most kill some member of another family that is causing you trouble, you are also giving a bonus in money/respect if you kill them in a particular way like using a melee weapon, throwing them off a bridge or a head shot.
There are also banks located around to which is a get way to earn to money as you can rob them, by shooting your way in and out. This can be very difficult but well worthy if you can stay alive as the police chase you to your safe house where you can stash the cash.
Each time you load you your game you can have the chance of buying new clothes and also changing the appearance of your characters face, I found this excellent as each time I changed him I make him look a bit older with winkles, scars and pimples; so it seemed as if was ageing as I progressed through the game. You can also unlock film clips by collecting hidden film reels
I would probably say the main storyline is quite short and could take about a week to complete although with out doing any of the side missions you may not get much money to spend on upgrades and it would be hard to complete the game.
But if you mix up the main missions and also doing all the other thing (some that Ive not mentioned) along the way which is well worth it to get the upgraded guns. I did this and it toke me 30hours of gameplay which was about 3 weeks of playing or it could be a lot longer depending on if you play daily or not.
==BUY OR NOT TO BUY==
Along as you like this type of genre and youre of an age over 18 or more then I dont think it matters if youre a fan of the film or now or even seen it. It will last a good amount of time, very fun to play and is worth the usually amount for a new game.
One of the best films to games made

You are sent in to help out in this war that also involves the Guerilla, Cartel and the Police, your mission is to overthrow the government and return this tropical island to peace.
The graphics are amazing, ranging from the lush green fields and mountains that contain trees that floods the island as if it was paradise for growing Mother Nature. The water feels almost life like with its beautiful and dazzling lighting that reflects of it. You can almost feel the heat of the sun when youre facing it, the bright glare is upon you which makes it hard to see and drive, as it does in real life.
All the vehicles are designed well, the best being the agents bike and car plus the police jeep along with many others seem to have that extra detail to them. As with most free roaming games the cars come complete with damage modeling, which is done pretty good from the bumpers, boot, bonnet and doors falling off after taking enough bullets or damage. The windows also smashes and the tires being shot, which I may add is sometimes fun just to shoot your own 2 back tires and try to control it as you drive and even sliding around corners too.
The Cut-scenes look even more stunning with the water, lighting and shadows seems so real, which brings me to the characters, they have the right facial animation down to a t, in the cut scenes that is. When looking at the people in the actual gameplay they do look a bit plain and less facial expression apart from the main character Rico. He has amazing detailed to him and when you free falling (talk more on that later) you can see his clothes ripple as it blows in the wind and even the cross he wears around his neck moves with gravity.
The main let down is the draw distance, the mountains, sea, trees and most of the buildings are fine which you can spot from far away. But when it comes to traveling in a car, you will suddenly get other vehicles appear just ahead of you. This is not too much of a problem unless of course youre driving a very fast car on the wrong side of the road. The other times when the draw distance is bad is when you are flying or sky diving at a rapid speed that at times the road doesnt have time to load up which then very rarely has a big slow down of the frame rate.
The last thing I mention about graphics is the shadow, not so much as an error or problem, just that the Ps2 has not got enough memory and power to display real time shadow and lighting that moves with the sun and each object. Other ps2 have done this before but not on this type of grand scale so the developers has left this out of this version but looks extremely realistic on the Xbox 360 and PC from images and videos I have seen.
The music to me is the biggest let down to the game. Thinking of all the free roaming driving games there are a constant music playing from the amazing radio in GTA to the random varied music in True Crime, Driver and so on that gives you that cool fun atmosphere when driving and even the occasional song you can sing along with. But if Just Cause is trying to make a new fresh feel to free roaming then they have missed out on one of the most valuable parts. Where the section of music plays Latino American rock type music is pretty cool but usually only shows up on the big main missions and barely at all when driving around the mass jungle and towns which does bore you with the long times of silentness.
If it was not for the sound and voices then it would render your sound senses useless. The sounds of all different weapons from pistols, machine guns and rockets that pack a punch are pretty good. You can hear the bullets ripping into the metal of the cars and even the sweet sound of skids you make as you whip you super cars about.
Maybe at first some players will get confused with the controls as there is a bit to get use to but the good thing is every time you enter a vehicle it shows you the setup as there is many things you can do and not just accelerate and turn, as you can also shoot with some vehicles - rockets/machine guns. As well as the quick dive out of car you got the ability to flip out the widow on the roof of the car which then leads to other actions like using a parachute or jump to another car close by. This all can be done with a press of a button that you will easy learn, even though it shows action buttons you can perform.
Weapons can easy be changed with the left/right d-pad or up to go straight to the grapple hook and down to your explosives.
All the vehicles are easy to control, from the bikes to cars and even planes which is controlled with R1 to accurate and L1 to slow down. The only problem I found with the handling of the vehicles is that the police jeep and a extremely fast car is over sensitive and is almost imposable to control, which leads you to swerving/skidding and hitting everything. But these two are the only ones I recall of the many (over 85) vehicles that do not handle right, so there is no thing particularly to worry about.
Just cause is a free-roaming game like GTA and True Crime and as you get to explore, start missions when you want, along with lots of side missions and just have lots of fun that doesnt have to involve any story. Just cause add more fun to the free-roaming genre by give you these crazy James Bond type moves, that involve a Parachute which can be used a unlimited amount of times. You can dive off a cliff and sky dive down towards the ground then open up your shoot at the last second that lets you just glide across towns and the world below you.
If your too scared in real life to jump out of a plane then this is the game to try it as you can take a plane or helicopter miles up into the air where you can only see the clouds below as you jump out and descend at a speed which you can control to a speeding bullet or pull pack on the pad to spread you arms/legs to slow you down. This is great fun to do, but thats not all you can do, as with a grappling hook you can shoot it at a car and as it drives away you be pulled up into the air. Ones your paragliding along the car you can pull yourself in if you like and jump onto it which you can then flip in through the window to take control of it.
The same can be done with a helicopter, if you have one following you which is annoying you by shooting you all the time, instead of just blowing it out of the sky you can use the grappling hook on it and pull yourself up to it where you can then grab onto the end of the wing and then into the cockpit. (And you thought high jacking a heli in mid-air was imposable)
The game throws you straight in by following a cut-scene of you jumping out of a plane where you get your first experience of free falling. As you do the main missions from different groups you get to visit many cool interesting area like breaking into a prison to get someone out, going to a bar thats inside a volcano, stealing a truck full of stock which rolls about in the back of the truck which you must try not to loss any of it as you are being chases, along with blowing up many buildings along the way.
As you progress through the game you can unlock safe houses, where you can save the game, Store vehicles and collect weapons. As well as the main safe houses you can unlock others thats own by the cartel and Guerilla which has each a unique vehicles and weapons. As the whole land is owned by the government and another gang you can attack these villages, villas and military bases. By taking control of this places and doing any missions will give you points which will unlock new weapons to make missions easier and more fun, included in some of these places there are helicopters, jet planes, jeeps and even tanks for you to use at your disposable.
You have a PDA with you that can be uses to many things by pressing select you go to a menu, where you can check you the map, although you cant zoom in much and nor can you pin point a spot like on GTA to find a place you want to go to(which is a bit annoying as you do have to keep checking the map), as well as the map you have your stats, extraction (which is used to pick you up and be flown to one of your bases, if you want to get there quickly) and heavy drop.
Heavy drop is very much like on Mercenaries game where you can get vehicles dropped down to you, though they are free you only have a choose of 4, (Bike, Jeep, Speedboat and a mini helicopter). Although these vehicles are very good where as 2 of them have weapons too, I find that you mostly need them when youre under attack and need to get away but the bigger problem is that they do not let you use it when under fire.
Overall the gameplay is good and very fun with all the action of the vehicles and stunt moves and the great weapons where you can even shoot the grenades in mid-air to explode them.
The game only contains 20 main missions although very good for a free roaming games its very short. If you are a good gamer and only played the main missions then you would complete it in a few days, but if you are after more fun and you throw in a load of side missions along the way it can be a much longer game.
Where as I did a lot of side missions and just had fun messing around I finally complete the game in about 40 hours of gameplay which is excellent as the longest gameplay of games take from 40-60hours and thats in the RPG genre. Im still playing the game now to try and complete every side mission which are over 300, that include very good races but only 8 of them and have taken me to about 85hours.
As you can see there are hours upon hours of gameplay, although many of the side missions are basically the same, if you love the gameplay the replay value is great.
==BUY OR NOT TO BUY==
Not as good as the 360 and PC version but still a great game that will last a very long time as long as your aim is not just to play the main missions.

Capcom that was founded in Japan of 1979 has grow to being one of the biggest developer and publisher of video games, that has make many great games and series from many consoles, some of the well known series were Street Fighter, Devil May Cry, Mega Man, Onimusha, Resident Evil and some other odd games like Viewtiful Joe, Killer 7 and Auto Modellista.
The first Resident Evil was released on the PS1 in the year 1996 (which cost me a hefty £60), known as Biohazard in Japan, over 10 Resident Evil games have been released on PS1, PS2 and a few other consoles, along with Resident Evil to follow in 2007 on the PS3. Outbreak 2 is the first online game they released over in Europe as the first Resident Evil Outbreak game the online feature was dropped apart from Japans version.
The is no set storyline as with the other resident evil games but you have 4 scenarios with a 5th to unlock that you can play in any order, picking from a group survivors of a everyday normal life along with 2 other characters controlled by the Computer, you must help each other out and find you way out of that area/scenario to safety that will involve team work and some puzzles along the way.
Now just a few days over 1 year old since release you will still find some newer games not as good graphically, so you see its pretty good but not stunning. Looking more deeper into the detail of the 8 characters you can play has good detail to them all, showing good facial features and nicely designed clothes that they wear.
The enemies are also designed well, from the animals in the zoo, zombies and other monsters are well animated, that makes then look scary and realistically.
The cut-scenes through the game are excellent and well done, the intro first the 2nd scenario I liked very much its done a way of a first person view, where you are running down a road with many zombies everywhere taking swipes at you and the camera turns and moves to dodge them.
The new animation to the characters also have a effect on the gameplay, where as when you are bleeding or have low health, you walk slow, drag you legs, your arms hang down and with help from another character, they will grab a holed of you and help you walk along. Same with when you are very damages, when you so injured that you are crawling along the ground and ones again any other character can give you a help you.
The sound seems good from the gun fire to the groans of the zombies. Even the foot steps as you run or walk makes sounds and changed as you move to different services. The music is good, mostly only appeared in the cut-scenes and bosses but it did not really give you that fright and panicking feeling like the other Resident Evil games.
All the characters have there own voices, although not as good as many other games that have top storylines, which leads me too the script is no thing special at all which is a result as of basic scenarios with out not real story drive scenes. Its a shame there are not story to follow with each character as it would have improved the script and they wouldnt be as annoying.
The controls are updated from the previous games, where as pressing the direction will make your character move in that direction where as before down would make you walk back and left/right would make you turn. Only thing is when running along you view changes and can make you move in the wrong direction, even so back to the fixed view point.
The view point is one thing they should have changed like they did for RE 4, but they are still fixed at different angles which dont help at times when enemies are around out of view and like I said the sudden movement of your character switches as the view changes is not good and can get annoying at times.
Another new feature is that you can now move and shoot at the same time, which doesnt involve you to quickly press aim button.
As this game has online play and also allies play along side, you need a way to talk. You cant use a keyboard or a headset like most online games, which may sound silly and boring. But I guess Capcom did this to stop people just talking/messing around while others are trying to play the game. So the way you communication offline and online is by using the right analogue stick that is pre-set with words and answers. So some of the uses are up to tell people to go and down to follow which can be used to give orders to the computer or even newbies that are playing online. Then there are other commands like help, wait if under attack or you busy with something. Along with calling out your allies names you also can answer which yes, no and sorry which I found I used a lot at first when I was a playing online and did not know what to do.
With 5 different commands with the analogue (4 directions and bush button stick) there are another 5 if you hold down L1 and 1 more with triangle. So with 11 commandos and answers you learn as well as everything else, I found it hard and confusing to remember and was a bit difficult playing online when you answer someone no or wait when you mean yes or something along those lines.
The other new and changed are is the items and inventory is now in real time where as before it was automatically paused. The reason for this is that when playing online it would get extremely annoying if the game paused every time someone checked there items out. Along with it being in real time you now have the option of giving items to over people or asking them if you could have it.
The games based in Raccoon City where a virus has broken out and has turned people into zombies and monsters, which also have affected you unlike all the other Resident Evil games. The virus is in your blood and ones it reaches 100% you dead which is show on the stats screen, so there fore its like time-limit but it effects each character different and also goes up if attacked. I did think this would rush you but each scenario is not that long and there for just not over rush you into completing.
From the start you can chose from 4 scenarios, a zoo, underground train station, an old unused hospital and a police station. Each area you must escape from with your chosen character, that each one have there own advantages and disadvantages to them, so there is some strategy in chosen and its interesting trying different ones out.
There are 8 characters that all from different professionals like a police officer, doctor, plumber and others that all have unique skills like being able to repair things and make new weapons out of objects, healing kit, strength and so on.
The gameplay is just like any other Resident Evil game where as you explore, shoot enemies with some bosses throw in and some very basic puzzles along the way which really only consists of finding keys, swapping objects about, pushing things and so on, nothing crime solving that will get you stuck on.
Also always you have guns like a pistol, shotgun and so on but now you also have melee attacks/weapons for the first time. (Which was also included in the previous outbreak) These come in many different forms, each character has a standard shoulder ram which will not also damage enemies but you can break open fragile doors with weak locks. The other weapons are a hammer, axe and a knife which all break apart from a knife. Also there are some odd every day items that can be used as a melee weapon like a broom stick, metal pole and even a rock. Obviously these do not do as much damage as guns but are very helpful if low on ammo or up against slow moving easy opponents.
Though that is the basis of the gameplay it now all involves team-work. So with only room for 4 items in your inventory you most help out each other back give health, ammo and thing else to share within the group. Part of the time work youll need to take out enemies together or when ammo or health is low then one can attack while the others move to next door and then take up shooting for the last person to make it out.
I feel that each character is balances right apart from one that has a coin for there unique item that really dont do anything and that the virus in him grows faster. Each of the characters has a unique item/s that are separate from there inventory.
Some of the best are:
Cindy that carries an herb kit (for readers that not played resident evil before: Herbs are medicines that can be mixed together to give health and cures poison) and by having this she can put any herbs straight into here which gives you that space in your inventory for other things. She holes 3 of each herb and can also heal others herself.
David is the plumber that has a tool kit that holes wrenches that can be thrown to stun enemies, junk parts to repair broken items and dunk tape. Armed with his knowledge and duck tape you can make weapons: from a long stick and knife to a spear, spray and lighter to a flame thrower and some other cool stuff.
Last one I mention is Yoko a student which done sound much but as she has a knapsack she can holed 4 extra items, meaning you will not have to back track to get items and have a good section of health and ammo.
You could be asking yourself does the team play work right? Lets this were it splits.
Offline is ok but the AI is mostly dumb and sometimes ends up dieing leaving you to do all the work. They also run around grabbing items but not helping you out when under attack. Of course you can use the commands and ask them to help which sometimes they come over and fight with enemies. Also being dumb they do run straight into and zombies and many of them do not use the unique skills like Alyssa that has pick-locks will usually just stand right next to a door when you tell them to help to unlock it, then run off again. Cindy doesnt seem to use her herb kit at all. The only character I found useful as a computer controlled is Yoko as she follows you around almost all the time and never runs off, plus she like a walking talking knapsack as she can hold extra items.
It does seem at times youre a babysitter as you have to watch the other AI players, giving them health, defending them and telling them to follow which does get annoying as it dont feel like a game anymore. But once you got some practice in you can easy just complete it with one AI or none helping you out.
Then online side of things is much better as you dont have to put up with the computer AI of course as you play with real humans. Still it may not work depends on the person, newbies seem better as they say close and usually help out thought they dont know what they doing at times. Then there are the expert gamers that either run ahead and only help them selves and complete it very quickly or they stuck with you and you then get to know the level and what to do if not played it before.
I found it easy to play and at least all the people can you there unique skills and items. To get online its very easy, all you have to do is input your email, make up a username and set a password and then you in. The only small problem I found with this is that you have to type in your password every time you go on, as most online games will save the data to your memory card and will automatically input for you.
Once in, you can enter a room where you can talk to users before playing, which here you can use a keyboard unlike the many game. It also says how many users online and playing. To start a game you click play, which then loads up the screen of games that are waiting which you can join or make a new game.
Once you have chosen the level, difficulty, name and so on. You then chose you player and play any time or wait until more join. The online also lets you have an extra player, taking the told players up to 4 including you.
The time it takes to complete each scenario is not that long and should that at the most 2 hours the first time on each but once you known what to do it can be done in about 30mins. Each level can be played on easy or normal which not only changed the difficulty with enemies but also has fewer puzzles to do.
Along with 8 characters to play as and experiment, there is a lot of replay value. Unlockables coming in the form of Art, usable costumes, movies, music and also 1 new scenario and a few other modes called showdown and elimination which are a row of battles with bosses.
To get this you most buy them with points gained from offline or online. Where as a harder difficulty, completing more puzzles, finding special items will gain you much more.
As online improved the replay value I mention how popular it is. Ive tried it in the mornings, afternoon and at night, which Ive found people where on at the time with what I seen the less was about 15users with about 40 the most Ive seen. Usually is about 23 users on are line, which is pretty good I would say as I was not expending many at all.
==BUY OR NOT TO BUY==
If you not tried a Resident Evil game before then get one of the other games as this is not the best and put you off playing the others. On the other hand if youre a fan or enjoying playing RE games, then try to get it on the cheap for at the very most £10 unless you also going to be playing it online then its worth that £10 price.

Creative Assembly was created by Tim Ansell in 1987, a games developer based in Sussex in the UK. Over the years they have made many strategy games of the Total War series under the names of Rome, Medieval, Shogun and also some older titles you many of heard of like Stunt Car Racer and Shadow of the Beast. This game Im review is a spin off from the award winning game Rome: Total War, where as you now play a role of a single warrior in an action adventure game.
The game is set in the time of the Roman Empire where they are conquering Greece. The next target city is Sparta where you take control of one of the many basically trained soldiers. As the King of Sparta is giving out orders for the upcoming battle, a strong powerful voice talks to you with in your head and says that you will become a very strong warrior of Sparta and that if you follow the gods advice you will save Sparta and all your people. The voice that speaks to you is Ares (The God Of War), you fight and win the battle and many more there after, where you begin to be known by others and enemies as The Spartan a great warrior. Follow the voice of Ares fight many enemies along your way, killing many men and beasts off ones you may know by the names of Medusa, Hydra, Beowulf, Medusa and Ladon from Greek mythology. By mastering you skills you become a Hero from a Warrior, to Legend and finally finding out who your really are and why has Ares been helping you along the way.
The graphics I was very presently surprised with as through the whole game the action is packed with hundreds of people fighting simultaneously. With so much going on at ones I would of through that the graphics would have to be dulled down to this current generation of gaming to keep everything running smoothly but what I noticed straight away was there was a high amount of detail to each and every solider fighting it out in the battle, not only that but buildings all around, some towering over you, all looking excellent with the right natural color which still shows the PS2 still has hidden abilities and that this current-generation will still go on. To totally top it off, it has some of the best lighting and shadow effects not only seen on the best Console games but also on the PC. Sun light that pours downs in open areas shinnying brightly off your shield and armor along with of metals has a great reflections.
The sound and music is just as good, the music fits well in with the game and flows nicely when up against the bosses. The sound is superb from the clashing of the swords and armor to the screams of the enemies when on fire and shouting of when they have been hit. The sound comes more alive when you use your powers for example when you use the lighting strike; it thunders out of your swords and sounds excellent.
Onto the characters, although they are not voices by anyone special they seem very good and real. What was a nice touch I though was when you are plowing throw enemies, massacring them, leaving bloodshed of bodies then suddenly this voice shunts out which is Ares (God of War) a praise I would say of congratulations of sending the enemies to hell is such a quick amount of time. I found the first time I heard this deep powerful voice, that where the hell did that come from. Some of the things he says are cool and funny like Send their souls to me, I will drown the world is chaos, Kill and kill again, Follow me and I let you kill forever and many more cool one. When ever I hear this I just had to say it again myself as I found it so funny and great voice. If you saying theses yourself now remember to do it in a deep powerful slow voice. LoL.
I found the controls pretty easy to use, there is no tutorial in the game but the game does do a quick pause to tell you some of the buttons as you are fighting on the first level. This lets you get straight into the action of the game with out having to play a tutorial first.
So the controls I would say are a bit like Baldurs gate and other hack and slash games as it that type of genre but there is more skill involved in Spartan Total Warrior. So you have your normal attack with the X button that does a combo. There is a slash button that you can hold down for a stronger attack which can hurt many people with the O button. Then there is L1 to pull out your bow which can fire a single arrow with X or fire multiply arrows with O with is great for when you have lots of enemies running at you. While L2 blocks that can stop attacks and also arrows but when also pressed with O knocks back enemies with a shield bash, which is great either for knocking enemies down drops to the deaths or gives you some space to attack. Square is lefted for stabbing enemies that have been knocked over and also to open treasure chests.
There is also a rage and power attack used with R1 and R2, plus the d-pad to change weapons (Which I talk more about later).
As the first level begins you are just a basic trained solider with a sword and shield. You get through in with other Spartans to defend you city from the Romans that are climbing up ladders to get to you. As you hacking away through enemies you soon realize that you need to start blocking when they jump at you and when surrounded by many man. You can do a shield bash to knock them back to give you room to attack and ones you lands a few hits you noticed that your sword glows to indicate that you have build you your rage.
Each weapon you get through the game has a different attack to it and holding down R1 and press either O for a Radial attack that will do damage and even cut of a few heads of your opponents or X button which is stronger attack but hits only one enemy which is best used for the tougher enemies. From this point I realized that this game was not just a standard hack and slash game and that I was expecting lots more fun moments a head.
Along with your sword and other weapons you gain like the double swords, hammer, spear and another sword and shield but you also come equipped with a bow. Useful for taking enemies archers or taking out a few enemies that are charging at you in force, though this many take some out its much more thrilling when you use your radial arrow attack which fires multiply arrows simultaneously which even more amusing when combined with fire arrows that you can pick up from treasure cheats.
There many bosses including in the game that are well designed and are not just keep attack types until they die like some other games. Here you will have to find there weakness and theres usually a unique weapon to use on them and does have some tactics and strategy to killing them and even though you do die a lot on normal difficulty against them its still fun and exciting to fight them and not painfully annoying like other games in this genre.
As you are you against your main enemies the Roman Empire you may think you be just fighting the Romans which may of got boring but actually you fight many different enemies through out that gives you more variety in the gameplay and also you need to rely on your other skills and weapons.
All the new weapons you gain have a special god given power. The first set of weapons you get is a dual sword which is called Blades of Athena that has the power of lighting and then another sword you get by killing the first boss which has colleted the power of Medusa which you may know of from books and films that the woman with snakes as hair that can turn people to stone by looking at her eyes. Plus there are other weapons like spear of Achilles.
Some of the enemies you come across and the best ways to kill them are:
Romans are quite balanced: They use swords or bows where as some of them are weak and some use shields. Later on you also fight their assassins which are very quick and can do a lot of damage so I lot of skill is needed. Fire arrows are good to kill them with as log as they are not shielding but using a shield bash gives you time to attack.
The barbarians are a very strong and aggressive people that like to kill and terrorize villagers. They come equipped with large swords and axes but no shields, so is best to use arrows and if possible fire arrows. When up close and fighting I find the dual swords are good as they are very fast and can deal lighting powers but also like to use the sword and shield as you have more defense and also the power to turn them to stone which helps you out a lot when you have other Spartans fighting with you. They also have these though men that have claws attached to there arms so watch out for when to block as they jump at you.
The other enemies I mention are the undead: Theses are the skeletons archers that are very good shoots and are arrows are fast. All the other skeletons have a shield and a sword as they are rusty you can easily smash through the shields and then kill them which is best to use the double swords. As they are just bones arrows do no damage but lighting is very good on them but as they are so light they can run fast so you cant run away plus you need to watch out when they jump out at out as being light they jump very far and fast. There are only 3 undead types of enemies, zombies which being the third. Theses are the Romans with the shields but being pretty dumb then dont use them. They also just mostly stand there unless youre very close and then they can do a lot of damage. Being zombies, cutting off there heads will not do anything so the way to kill them is to stamp on the bodies when knocked to the floor. Fire arrows are great against them as these burns them right up. When up close try using the spear as this has more range and when using your special god power you can puts a fire shield around your body which stops any damage hurting you and will burn any one that touches you or that you attack.
There are other enemies in the game like the gladiators in the coliseum of Rome which is a great place to fight. Through out almost the whole game you are accompanied by other Spartans that fight with you that use spears, swords and bows. So it does feel like a really battle going on around you with Romans and Spartans fighting it out, which dont leave you thinking its a one man fight that wins the war unlike other games where you fight along.
Theres a little RPG role in the game from where after each level you are given 4 tokens to spend on what you like. This includes more health, better damage and extra special power slots. Ones all three of them are full you then level up to Hero and then on to legend but not thats the only difference as you will also have a new look to show your progress by having new better amour.
The replay value is pretty good, where as on easy mode you should complete it in a week or so. But if you found that to easy and your up for a more of a challenge then normal mode will take you about 2 weeks if not more as the bosses are harder, enemies attack more, meaning you have to time your attacks more and even you the counter roll a lot more to get behind them to do more damage.
As well as the main game there is also a battle arena where you are up against many enemies in a big rounds room as you complete each wave then there are others, 10 in totally that will increase in difficulty as you fight tougher enemies. As you progress thought the main game you unlock extra arenas to fight in the enemies from that part of the game. Along with new arenas there are also hidden cheats in the game that unlock bonus items for the arena as well as Artwork from the game. These bonuses come in the form of health shrines, extra arrows, gun power barrels and even allies like archers, spear men plus some others special ones which I let you find out for yourself. In this mode you get points depending on how you kill the enemies and then you can save your high scores if you make it in the top ten.
This mode I found very funny playing and aiming for that top score and these added at least 2 weeks extra replay value to the game even after I got that top place on the score board.
I was not disappointed with the lengthen of the game and way great that it wasnt all there was, as you have that battle arena to fight in although I think that a 2 player co-op mode would have been great if not for the main game at least for the battle mode.
==BUY OR NOT TO BUY==
If you liked god of war or any other type of roman and Greeks games then you will love this. Even if you are looking for some hack and slash game or not this has great sword fighting battles and also needs some skill to play then get it.
Although there are no 2 player modes, this is still a great game to own if not a must try and is worth paying as much as any other new release game. If buying search about a bit and you should find it cheapish like at Amazon or play.

Criterion is a Game Developer based in Guildford, England. Which is best known for its amazing stunning work on the Burnout series. What they did for the racing genre they are trying now do for the FPS genre with this game Black. By bringing the fast paced adrenaline metal mangling destruction of burnout into the form of exploding cars, buildings, towers from rockets and everything being blown to rumple by bullets and grenades.(Please read on to see if they done what they have planed to do.)
The story follows your character Sgt. 1st. Class Jack Keller who is a Black Ops soldier which is a specialist CIA covert group. It begins with you being interrogation with questions about terrorists and the operations in was in that toke place in the last 4 days. As Keller describes about his missions and what happened the game flashbacks to each missions which you then play.
Just like what Criterion did on the Burnout series was stunning, the same is said here if not better. So much detail it has in the game it really does have the Wow factor to it and it be very hard to choose 5 games that comes close or equal to the gorgeous graphics Black has got not only on the PS2 but on any console. From even something as everyday items like glass windows have that amazing reflecting lighting. The glare of light from metal objects that if possible you could fell the heat. Ok you maybe thinking yeah that sounds great but that is when everything is calm, nice and has that new look to it. When the bomb drops then destruction has never looked so beautiful.
Starting with the bullets, letting rip with a clip of your rifle around the place will have the glass smashing the small pieces, following your trail of fire leaves bullet holes through the walls, floor cars anything. See that tower up there? Not for long, shoot a rocket at it and it explodes in the pieces with the tower coming down in half leaving smoke to pour out. Stuck in a room then just blow the doors of its hinges with a shotgun. How about being on the other side and want to get it, Throw grenades through the window and get back. As what you get is not only the shattering of the glass and even the door being blow back outwards towards you but even the bricks, mortar and the roof can be demolished with enough force will let the beams of light in.
The last level is a great place to mention the level of destructive graphics. Where as you in a big room with a walkway at one side with loads of windows right the way along it, rooms full of big boxes which I'm guessing has ammo in it, explosive barrels around the place too. What I like doing here and many other times in the game is to just go mad by throwing all my grenades through the windows, switching to my heavy machine which holes loads of ammo and start blazing bullets everywhere, with panels of shattering glass, ammo boxes and barrels exploding into multiply bursts of flames along with the grenades. Ones the flames and dust settles down it's greatly satisfying to see everything obliterated even the 4 big pillars destroyed right down it's bones of the metal rode like you would see in the lobby area of the Matrix film but even to the more extreme.
Taken into account what that room is like and what grenades can do to towers and buildings, through out the whole game you will encounter areas like this everywhere you look and I am glad the makers of burnout has made a FPS.
With destruction at this amount in the game you would really be let down if the sound was bad but Black also gets top marks here by ticking the right boxes. From the shattering of the glass the sounds it makes is like sweet music to my ears and its odd to think that the equivalent in real life would make you jump. Rumbling explosions that could deafening you for real with its thunderous booms that real adds to the atmosphere and really know Criterion has giving you something special to play.
The same goes for the music, at times when you are walking about and the place is empty, totally deserted there's a calm tune playing with a hint of spooky sounds take starts that gives you the feeling that's something is about to kick off and it usually does with rockets and loads of enemies ambushing you in the open. Plus there's the fast paced music in some of the gun fights that's adds to the action of the gameplay.
The controls just like any other FPS are all ways basically the same, where as the L1 is to aim and R1 to shoot and the other 2 buttons are used for Crouching and throwing grenades. The square button is used for pick up and swapping weapons as only two you can hold. You have a melee attack with the O button and the triangle can be used to attach or detached your suppressor if you have it and is for that gun. You can also change your fire mode from single to burst and fully automatic with up on the d-pad, which of course I did not bother with at first but relished that the single shoot has much more accuracy. The only problem I had with the layout was that I sometimes wasted health packs by pressing down to use them when I was thinking it was to change fire mode.
The gameplay is just basically a simple shooter and which they have done a great job and you could even say done to perfection. With other games of this type you may get things to do like pressing switches, using computer points, finding keys to open doors and so on with mean different things, but with black you get non of that and its just a straight shooter letting you destroy everything in your path. From the start the first level lets your cause chaos by blowing up cars, taking out the pillars of a museum, blowing the door of its hinges, destroying phone boxes and any everyday objects can be mangled. Turning a street in to war zoom has never been this much funny.
Some of the levels keeps you as a one man team but others you will be accompanied by 1 or 2 other special ops members and keeping with simple play of the game there's no orders involved, so you can get on with what you are doing while the other team members attack and also watch your back. They have been given good AI so they move and attack with good intelligences, making the game feel that extra bit real and even they shout out if there's a incoming rocket or if they under very heavy fire and need your help.
There are 8 levels which all you have to do is get to the end while either taking out all the enemies, blowing defense points or breaking into there bases to find info and try to take out the leaders of these terrorists. The first although great is very short but as you progress the levels not only dives deeper into the story alone with tougher enemies but also the length of the levels change. Starting off in a street fight, you continue through big wooded area, attacking there base and getting to a farm that's under fire. Then onto many different locations that all well designed like the bridge where you get to do some long range silent shots, to cities, ruins, underground bases, sewers and even a graveyard where you most hind behind gravestones as a sniper is take shots at you, which is another great level as the is debris of stones flying everywhere as you working you way close to the sniper and to somewhat safety of a building.
Other cool effects that makes the game feel more real and gives it a better atmosphere is when you reload your gun the surrounding area goes into a burry as your character focuses on he's gun which is what you get in real life for example if you were to look and focus on your finger close up everything around you goes into a blurry. The other effect is when you been shot to a very low amount of health the screen slows down and goes black and white to show you are about to die plus as its slows down it gives you a bit of time to realize it and then heal your self with a medi-pack. Although if you don't get shot again you will heal slightly this then brings the color back to the screen and to normal speed.
Although this type of chaotic destruction is very rare on consoles and is special in Black this will be the norm for many games to come on the next-generation of gaming for the Playstation 3.
The is any easy mode which should that long at all as I played it first time on normal and completed it in about a week, ones completed thought you unlock silver weapons which I though would be new weapons but all it was is all the guns are make out of very shiny silver metal, that does look really good and also have unlimited ammo apart from grenades but is great fun walking around with a rocket launcher. There also a hard mode which is probably really only for experts as normal was very hard at the end but if completed then unlocks Black Ops difficulty mode from which I've found out is extra hard and it also gives you a M16 Assault Rifle with an M203 grenade launcher.
So apart from replaying the game on different difficulties there is nothing else to play or unlock. If they were to make sequel then I really do hope that add a multiplayer mode plus online mode and maybe a co-op mode.
==BUY OR NOT TO BUY==
This is one of the greatest games on the PS2 and is a must to play, but as there is very little replay value that may last up to 2 weeks then you should either rent it or try to get it cheap.

Thanks For Reading. Eddie
Welcome to my review of the Original Playstation 2 Console, Im going to start with a bit on the history of Sony, then their story of PS2 and how it playas part of my life. Then onto the features and my opinions. Finally finishing off with some helpful prices for the console and accessories.
Sony first started out as a radio repair shop in Tokyo, Japan of 1945, owned by Masaru Ibuka and Akio Morita. As the years went on they started to made radios, recorders and other things. Then into other products we mostly know them from which were walkmans, personal computers, cd players, television and many other things as well. Then came 1994 when they released their first video gaming machine known as the Playstation that using cds. Which titles by the names of Tekken, Gran Turismo, Tomb Raider, Tony Hawks Pro Skater, Resident Evil, Silent Hill and many more games that the series is still going on now and some even announced for the next generation. The Playstation was very popular console that lasted about 10/11 years strong. While the Playstation was still going strong Sony released their second console by the name of Playstation 2 in the year 2000.
Sony toke many of their fans into the current generation as we call it now with many to follow as well as gamers thats been with other consoles. The PS2 has become the fastest selling gaming console in history, beating the previous record holder, the PlayStation, by three years and nine months with over 100 million units shipped by November 2005. Along with me moving on the Playstation 2 but until 2002 were I had saved most of the money up to buy one so thought I take my current Playstation to Cash Generators to sell. Although they did not offer me much for it, I toke it as I had to have a Playstation 2. With out a console to play on for a week while I waited for my PS2 to arrive by post as I ordered if by phone which cost me £200 with just the cables and one pad.
When it arrived I was so excited and overjoyed: I running up the stairs to my room (lucky not fall and dropping it), quickly unpacked and I found I was so amazed by the look of which was a nice shiny black box. Although I could only afford the PS2 with a game I was not totally loss as I borrowed some games a few days before I had it from a mate in collage. If I remember correctly there were Kesson, Smackdown: Just Bring It, the first Ridge Racer game and also a hockey. Being a great console and very good games at that time me and my other m8 use to take a 10-15min walk home in my collage dinner times just to play on it and if Im honest my course performance went down a little.
After a month of saving up again I bought myself my very first PS2 game by the name of Baldurs Gate and also a memory card. Although the card was out of stock or something I had to start a new game every time I turned of the console and dieing was very annoying with out a save to back you up. Ones I had the memory card and lucky enough I broke up to holidays in collage, me and my mate stayed up till early every morning until about 3am playing Baldurs Gate. From that date of when I bought it and still you to now I play on my Playstation a lot now with 48 games bought in 3 years and 3 months, spending over £1000 on with a few more other games Im planning on buying before I get the next Sony Console, moving into the next generation again by getting the Playstation 3 that is set to be released for the 17th of November 2006.
Hope that did not drag but now onto Playstation 2 it self and what it like to use.
The Playstation 2 hads two memory card ports at the front so you dont have to swap them about but also to copy data from one and another. Right under the ports are where you plug in the controller pads, although you can only have 2 plugged in you can buy a multi-tap which you can then plug in extra pads for games that has the feature for multiplayers. There is a power switch button on the back and a button on for front for reset and one below it to open the disc draw that slides out. Te contention to the TV is a scart lead which will content to any new TV but for very old TVs you can still you the AV cable from the old Playstation or buy one though it dont have to same quantity in picture of the scart lead.
What Can You Do With It? Well of course play games on it but as well as PS2 games; you can also play PS1 games on it as its also most 100% backwards compatibility. It also doubles up as a DvD player as its run by a DvD Rom, so it will play any region 2 DvDs or the region of the country of where you bought the console from. There is also the possibility of taking it online. The main thing is to have broadband in your house as dial up will not work with it. The other thing is you need a network adaptor but depends on which version PS2 you have got as the new slimline version has a built in adapter so all you have to do it plug the cable into your pcs modem and set up the PS2 network but if you own the older version which is the one Im reviewing then you will need to buy one that you must attach to the back of the console. The only problem is that they done make them anymore because all new Slimline PS2 have them built in but if you are lucky you can search the internet and find one for about £17 were as there were original about £25-£30.
The graphics all Varity from genre to game to companies. You will probably find that the younger kids games are not fanatic in the graphically department as this is not what gets them interested but as you move onto other games for the older games like action, racing and anything, the graphics does look very good and real on the Playstation 2. As companies over the years make money from great games and series there fund increases which means games from the bigger companies can put more money, time, people and so on into there games which then ends up have stunning games that look ever so real like Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid, Shadow Of The Colossus, Black and many more that have amazing lighting and reflections to realistic textures, explosions plus so much more.
With the increase amount of data you can now put on dvds, you will find lots of great games with music that gives you that extra experience and atmosphere plus you will get games with a load of different tracks from popular arties of all genre and years.
As with the music the sound is much improved comparing to older generations with developers recording real sounds in studios and outside all over the world will add to the game and give it the extra realistic feel.
As Video Games is a very popular industry, actors lend there voices to characters in games which can only improve games if done right.
The Playstation has 48 hardware channels to release its sound upon you and it supports Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround sound, DTS meaning you can connect it to a hi-fi and have much better sound.
Near the release of the first Gran Turismo on the Playstation 1 in 1998 they also released a new pad that was basically the same layout apart from that it now has 2 new analogue sticks which gives you better controls as its more precise and smoother to use. Also the pas featured a rumple to add to the gameplay when say a car hits something or when you get shoot in a shooting game. As this pad were so easy to use and pleased users that they kept the design as standard for the PS2. The pad has to grip sections to it so you can grip it tight with ease and comfortable. It features 4 main buttons to the right with the symbols of an X, O, triangle and a square. Another 4 bigger square buttons on top shoulders buttons by the name of L1, L2, R1 and R2. Then the select and start buttons in the middle of the pad plus the d-pad to the left. After not that long with using the pad you could easily find which button is were with out looking at it which I found not like other pads on consoles by other makes.
With technology improving all the time and the great minds of game developers there are all ways new features and gameplay to get into with new original releases and ideas. Lots of games now have many genres rolled into one game, for example theres Shooters where you can drive cars and fly places. Driving games where you can get out fight use guns or just jump into another car and many more examples. But what I thing that the Playstation 2 has the best gameplay than other consoles is that excusive games are so well designed that I and many others would not like to leave behind by going to another console. This games by which I mean are games they only release on a particular console, this can be because the company thinks that the game will get better fans and audience and any game developed or published by Sony will of course only be played on there Sony consoles as if it were to be released say on the Xbox then the customer would not have to buy a ps2 to play and there for Sony would not make as much. Some of the stunning excusive games that you will only find on Sony consoles is series and games of Gran Turimso, Shadow of the colossus, God of War, Metal Gear Solid (although there have been other excusive titles just for other consoles) and many other titles.
Although you get about the same replay value with games on there consoles, I think the console it self adds value. As I said before it can play almost any PS1 game so anyone like me who has sold there original PS1 then they still can enjoying the collection with the backwards compatibility, also Dvds can be played, online games is free to use. Even at this stage were the PS3 is not long off to be released the PS2 still has great life in it yet with games like the latest FPS Black with some of the best looking graphics we have every seen and future titles, name one Just Cause that looks so beautiful and gorgeous with ravishing, spectacular new ideals and features in the game. So as you can see the life in the PS2 is still there and will last even into the days of Playstation 3 and the next-gen.
==BUY OR NOT TO BUY==
This console has loads of great games and amazing big catalogue of games to be played; its still a great buy for a new slimline console for about £95 new or about £130 with a game or two plus some extras. Team Soho is a group of team members thats part of the big company Sony, This is only there 2nd game they have made which is a sequel to The Getaway and currently making the 3rd game in the series for the next generation in the form of Playstation 3.
Black Monday does not follow on from the previous game and that you now follow the story of a boxer called Eddie. Eddie and the gang decide to rob a valuable item from a rich and powerful gang boss which is dealing with weapons trade and other stuff. Along with Eddie you also play levels with a young girl called Sam, plus Mitchell which is part of a special attack unit in the police. All there storys link and cross paths together the plots twist and ends up different to what they are after.
Almost 2 years after the release of the first getaway the graphics has not been improved much if at all, although its not the worst you can find. You will find that all the characters are well designed with detail faces but you may also notice that animations has glitches where there is not movement from the mouth or is not accurate. The detail in the buildings is pretty plain and flat, which dont look good but as your mostly driving you will not notice this and it will look fine. Ones inside of the buildings, you can see that there developers have put more details into everything as here you will obviously be on foot.
With most action games you will not see real cars as it cost to license them. As Team Soho is part of the company Sony which has a lot of money can afford to put in real cars, this is way you will get not only to see but drive cars from makers of Peugeot, Vauxhall, Lotus, Rover, TVR, Renault, Mitsubishi and many more. Along with the nicely detail cars you also have damage that will show up from bullet holes, smashed windows, scraps and when it has taken to much damage the car smokes and slows down. As before they are trying to make it look real, with no stats what so ever on screen to show life, ammo or anything.
I start with the sound first, the gun shots and car sounds are ok but not what you would get if its a shooter or racing game. The music seems alright with some of the missions you play have got good tracks or tunes but you mostly find that theres not enough and can be quite boring with out. As with other games you get that atmosphere and more entertainment if the music is done perfect but not here.
On to the voices now, I dont know if its because its set in London or that the developer is trying to make it feel more like a game but there is just too much swearing in the game. Although the dialogue is very well write it seems that every sentence not only in the cut-scenes but while playing the game, that the characters speak has to have a swear work in it. Its that over the top that the game has been heavily criticized for it swearing, I think with out this it would not have its 18+ rating and that would made it very low for almost any age to play it. One more thing I mention here is that I found in one or two situations where when I was playing as the main male characters that it was the voice of the female characters over lapping. Although it was very rare to hear it was a used game with scratchs that could of cause the problem
I keep this short by saying that the controls are the same as in the first getaway. For those that have not played it, its basically the same layout as other games of its type. With the handling of the cars and bikes are very sensitive, its hard to drive with them: you will be hitting a lot of vehicles, some sudden skids and revising it pretty much imposable. With the handling this bad, any one that expecting to enjoy this part will be disappointed and I was glad most of the time to get back to the on-foot sections. One more thing is that there are no tips, instructions or any type of tutorial, so you will need to read the manual at least once.
The gameplay is just like the previous game, although there is a new storyline and characters, the game does not offer anything new apart from that you can now drive bikes but that has no effect on the gameplay. The driving sections are either chasing someone or getting from A-B, the only think I found slightly interesting was that I was driving real cars like the Peugeot 206 that I want to buy or a Mitsubishi GTO Twinturbo (one of my favorite cars). Apart from that being in the vehicles was boring and sometimes annoying as when you collide with something is will reaction in to ways. One being hit by a car only a bit will make you spin out and out of control. But where as hitting a solid lamppost or metal railing will make you slide out the way or suddenly move with out taking damage even though you defiantly hit it.
Onto the shooting side, when your moving around in buildings shooting people the auto lock on aim seems to be always on the wrong person. So if you thinking manual aim be better its not as with the developers real feel to the game you have no aim curser to see were you are shooting. So unless youre a robot you end up using a few clips on one person were only a few bullets will hit. Along with the bad camera angles most of the time, it just makes it more difficult and least enjoying.
The worst bit of the gameplay is were you control the girl called Sam, were all her missions are to do with stealth. Dont get me wrong here, I love stealth games but its made so bad here youll be praying to get of these parts. As Sam dont fight or use guns, along with the camera angles and even people spotting you when they shouldnt its almost imposable to do these parts, even me a heavy gamer taken me many re tries. To finish this off the healing situation is still the same weird odd way were you have to wait a second for your character to lean on the wall for the blood and bullet damage to disappear, although there is now a few medi-kits, yes thats right a few in the hole game on wall for you to use instead of the weird lean on wall healing way.
With the main game if should take at the most a week to complete but I done see any reason to replay again but like before there is a roaming mode where you can does drive around doing what you like and try and find some of the secret cars. Along with that you get a few more extra modes over the previous game like race, chase, and black cab. These modes may add more days or weeks of replay value but I couldnt cope with the controls anymore so I managed to pay only about half of the races.
==BUY OR NOT TO BUY==
From what I can tell they have just put in new characters, storyline, new vehicles plus bikes right on top of the original game. If you had a chose from the 1st or 2nd game, I go for the original even if it was a few more pounds to pay as this sequel has not added anything new or good the game.

Rocksteady Studies was founded in December 2004 and is based in North London, which employs over 25 people in the small office, also the company is partly owned by Eidos. This FPS game Urban Chaos was originally called Roll Call until a few months before release, which is there first game to be developed by them.
The story is of many riots breaking out all over New York from a gang called The Burners, that not only burning buildings but also take hostages. You play as Nick Mason, a member of T-Zero a new anti gang unit that uses high-tech military grade hardware. With millions of funds behind this new squad and a "Zero Tolerance" policy, your first test is to stop the Burners as they attack the police station. As the game progress you soon realize that theses group of psycho hockey wearing masks are more than just a gang.
The graphics are not stunning but has good detail through out the game down to each single different object as well as the characters. All the objects in the game uses havok engine which is a program that companies use in some of there games to give everything from weapons, people, cars, boxes and any other items found around the game to give a realistic movement. For an example if an explosions goes off then objects like boxes will be blow away, as well as the enemy being blasted back with a high powered gun. So as you can see this game has some good animation to it as well as some other some details that makes the game impressive like when using your riot shield, any bullets that hit it will mark it with scrapes and even when uses as a weapon to ram into the enemy it will break there nose, leaving a blood splat on your shield.
The sound and voice acting side of things is done very well. As each level begins you start off in a way with a mission briefing of a TV news report show called Channel 7 news reported by a woman called Lani York, here she talks about what the public thinks of the new unit T-Zero, how the story progress and what is happening with the burner gang. This part is done with a real actor with in cuts of real video clips. As through the whole game the enemies shout out orders and abusive language at you as they really want to kill you. Each of the guns has its own unquiet sound when firing and the riot shield is great when you ram it into others faces giving you a nice slow crunching sound as it goings into slow-mo for each shield kill.
The controls can be confusing a bit at times as there are so many weapons to use but it's nicely designed so that you can change quite quickly. With three buttons assigned to different type of weapons like firearms, projectiles and melee weapons, you can easily switch or/and cycle through them with the square, triangle and circle buttons. As usual the R1 is fire plus the R2 is for secondary fire, where as single hands guns it turns on a flashlight which is very helpful as many parts in the game there is no lights or that have been broken. The riot shield is one of the most important weapons as not only you can block bullets and projectiles with L1 holed down even when walking. As well as the shield being excellent for defense can be used to attack with the shield ram and also you can throw projectiles over the top while still behind cover of the shield.
Another thing to mension is that you can give orders to people that help you out through the game with the uses of the d-pad. The left and right direction tells them to follow or to stop and take cover. Up on the d-pad is the action order depending on the person, you can tell them to heal you, break down doors, put out fires or give you coving fire.
The gameplay follows you nick mason a T-Zero officer, visiting lots of different places, you are to stop the gangs, capture leaders and help out any people along the way. You are not along thought in the fights, as you progress through the levels killing of the gangs, you team up with other people. One point a bomb goes off and the building is left in flames with civilians trapped inside, so the fireman tells you this and hands over very important equipment called the breather which is basically a gas mask but with a heat vision build in. This comes in very handy when enemies are hidden or when there is a lot of smoke. Back to the fire now thought, you enter the building with the fireman, searching around for people you come across fires and blocked up doors and with help of the action button the fireman will put out the fires and break through blocked areas. Ones found the fireman can pick him up and you must lead them back to safety of the medic while defending them from any further attacks from the gangs.
Although the paths of each level is the same, I still find it varied and funny when replaying it as each area can be played out different ways. Where as you could go in guns blazing, plowing through them with a machine gun and blasting them with a shotgun. Later on it is a lot hard to do this as there much more of them with better guns, so you could always use your shield to block any bullets and when ready shot a red explosive barrel to take a load of them out. Another good way if you have any smokes, throw a few grenades which will block view, for which you can then turn on your heat vision letting you see through the smoke and giving you a great advantage to take head shoots of all the enemies.
There are many other great ways to take out enemies like using your shield and taken a few quick pot shots with your pistol or throw a riot grenade over the top of your shield which packed with bold bearing that will knock out many enemies. When you get the mad ones rushing towards you, just bash them with your shield or flip out your taser and pump him full of electric.
There are another 2 features in the game, one being you on a minigun of a helicopter ripping things up and the 2nd that happens every now and again is the hostage takers. Here a gang member has a hostage but you have no clear shot until he reloads and ones he does you can zoom in which is done in slow motion to that a shot. Here you most holed your nerve in this intense situation and by taking out the enemy you are rewarded with a cool death scene of him being shot back into a electric box that fries him, falling into a oncoming train and many more, one being my favorite where he falls into a bath and the reporter on the scene which was the victim smashes a TV over his head and then electrifying him also.
There are some great levels but are pretty short, which leaves the game to be completed in about a week. But that's when the replay value kicks in as there any many unlockables. Which includes new weapons like smoke and riot grenades, shotgun and also loads of upgrades which will give you bigger and more clips for your guns, better zooms, flashlight attachment, grenade launcher attachment, armor and much more.
Every level has its bonus missions, which are for example kill 20 or more with headshots, incapacite 10 enemies, find 5 hidden gang masks, complete level without dieing plus some that includes capture of gang leader. Each one of theses earns you a medal which will earn you the unlocks when you have the right amount. Capturing the gang leaders is the only one that will not give you medals but unlocks an emergency bonus level, which is a time limit level where you most save a hostage and get him back to safety. You can also earn medals from the emergency level and extra medals from playing a harder difficulty called Elite and an unlockable terror mode.
With all of this to unlock, it will not only add a few extra weeks of play but also gives you new and better equipment that makes the gameplay easier and more fair. The last thing to mention is that the online mode and as this was one of the reasons I wanted this game I was disappointed with as it's the worse online mode I've played. The game modes are very poor and the levels are small and are not designed for multiplayer. The main think I did not like about online is that you can kill and be killed to easily as head shoots can easily be done from a far distance with very little skill involved. I've played online myself a few times over many days and the most I've seen online is about 10 people at max in total on the servers which shows its not a popular online game and has nothing special in this area.
==BUY OR NOT TO BUY==
This is a good game to buy if you are a person that likes to unlock everything in a game, Try to get it for £20 at most, as you be disappointed if you spent anymore. As for online play stay well clear of it as any other game that says network play on the box will probably be better.
