When I spotted this album, I almost never picked it up. I already had the original soundtrack, so why would I need another one?! Glad I did though, what an amazing set of tunes!

The reason I am writing this review is because I am listening to it right now, and the feel good factor is incredible. Let me tell you about the album... well, we have all seen the film, right? Think of every single song in the film and play them all one after another. Thats it! Every song you hear, your memory starts acting like a DVD player, playing all the clips over in your mind. (Be my, be my little baby... you thinking of the beginning? Love Man... Baby grinding her hips for the first time with Jhonny... you catch my drift?)

It has a full on 26 hip grinding, head banging quality sounds, and there is not one I want to skip (there is usually one, believe me) and if you dont belive me, ask the 3 kids that are standing in the room dancing their little socks off!

I wish there was something else I could say but short of giving you the playlist (that would take far too long and completely unnessasary!

Got to go and strut my funky stuff now!!

I Won't go in to the storyline as such - because just about everyone on this planet (except maybe tibetan monks and eskimo's) has seen this 'feel good film'. I have this on good old VHS and evry now and then I will sit down with a HUGE tub of strawberry cheescake ice-cream, a big bottle of fat coke, fluffy slippers and wine stained pj's (from drunken lonley nights on my own, but thats another story!) and watch it. Lets face it, all us single girls (and maybe even some not so single girls) want to be 'Baby' at some point. To go away and meet the man of our dreams, giving us a new found confidence and a bit of a makeover. Ok, ok - most of us have a bit more creditability than Baby, but its the dream! Patrick Swaze is incredibally sexy too (back in the day!) and I always dance like baby as she is coming down the steps (you know, right forward, right back, left forward, left back...) just in case my patrick will come. God knows how many times i have watched this film, but to me, its a classic. I would reccomend everyone getting this, its handier than a bottle of wine on nights of loneley!

I have to confess - this may be a bit of a biased opinion. I actually work for the world of TUI in a Lunn Poly shop, but I really had the urge to write good things about the company. I left my hectic, well paid job to become a travel agent- and so glad I did. I have never worked for such a nice company. TUI are so customer focused, its almost unreal! They are a HUGE company, Lunn Poly, Magic, Jetsave, Thomson...and many more are all part of the TUI world. Not only does each one offer value and quality, it also offers variety because of the large volume of services it offers. To tell you how dedicated TUI are to their customers, here is a little tale to tell. Mr Martin had been a regular at out Lunn Poly branch for over fourty years, once a month, without fail he would book a weekend away to Torquay in a specific hotel. Staff loved him both at the hotel and in the shop, so when his 90th birthday was approaching, our shop decided it was time to give him something back in return. They organised a free weekend away for him in his favourite hotel, he was over the moon. The story made the local press and Mr Martin was loving the attention! He still comes in to book and everyone is amazed at his spriteness despite his age. In short, Lunn Poly or TUI did not have to give Mr Martin anything, he was happy parting with his money every month, and happy to recive a welcome chat; but was so grateful when he recieved his freebie that the tale will always have an impact on me.

TUI is very customer focused and could almost be guaranteed not to sell rubbish. They offer holidays for everyone - and if you havn't done so already - travel with us, you will not be disappointed.

I would be interested in any comments on whether you have had a good or bad experience.

My daughter is 3 years old and I am 20 years older- but we both love Claires equally as much! For her, its the pink feather boas and tiaras, and for me its the wide array of colourful clips and sparkling jewellry. Dont get me wrong - Rlaph Lauren it is NOT! But there is a certain charm about these 'not so bad' quality products. Flowers for the hair, butterfly hair slides, hooped earrings (that don't tarnish the first time you wear them), pretty necklaces. Retail shops tend to work in seasons and this shop is no exception. In th summer months there is flowers, hippy beads, and all things summery. And in the winter it is glitter and black things for the office do. They also do a wide variety of little gift sets - great for teens buying something for their mates. Well, to be truthful, not just the teens; I buy for my buddies too! The only fault (and its not really a major fault) is the way the shops are so condensed that everything is bundled together and sometimes items get mixed up, and end up on the floor. Ends up looking a bit shabby to say the least. But all things must be investigated and I would recommend this to everyone - young and old!

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

Like most of the female population, I have been to Ann Summers parties before. I have bought items of undies that were a little (or a lot) uncomfortable, cheaply made, yet not so cheap to buy. But I never returned them because I was always afraid that the hostess of the party (always a good friend!) would lose out on some commision. So when our newly built shopping centre unveiled an Ann Summers shop, I was over the moon! Now I could look at the sex toys without worrying what my buddies would think, you know, when the question at the end of the party is always..."so, what did you buy then?" I never bought a vibrator for fear of having to lie. So, I ventured in to the Ann Summers shop with credit card at the ready and was very disappointed with the underwear. It was all very cheap and nastily made. I could have picked out better knickers at QS! But I carried on deeper in to the shop and as I passed through the "over 18's" section I felt like I was Father Christmas and this was my Lapland! Toys of all shapes and sizes screamed out to me. A great selection to choose from - even for the men. ( But I guess I need to find a man before I can start buying male sex toys! ) A member of staff approached me and started recommending items to me, I was a little embarassed but also very intrigued at the pink rabbit with the well positioned ears. I picked up the box, a box of buzz fresh, and a large supply of batteries and took my 'presents' home. Without too much detail, I will say that the little bunny does exactly what it says on the box! Since then I have bought many toys fromt he shop and have always found the staff great, the products quality and great variety, but I still say; skip the undies - head straight to the back of the shop!

My daughter was away the whole weekend at her Dads and I was having a really bad Friday at work, so during my afternoon fag break I booked one night at Inglewood in Kintbury, Nr Newbury. It was a moment of madness, even asking for my room to be upgraded! Could this hardworking single mum really justify spending £200 on herself? No, probably not, but what the hell- I was REALLY looking forward to it! I don't drive so I asked if there was any way I could get a taxi or a bus from the train station (knowing that Kintbury is a sleepy little village I didn't rate my chances of getting a taxi too high!) and was told by the lovley helpful receptionist that the porter would come and collect me. On arrival at the station, the cute but obviously gay (shame, I really fancied him but somehow I don't think I was his type!) porter was waiting for me. He was very professional and I knew then that this was a very upmarket kinda place! When I checked in I was told that my two inclusive treatments were a masage and a seaweed bath(!) and the times were already booked for me. I was told to wander in my robe (that you can hire for a fiver) and then was given a tour so I knew where everything was. I memorised the whereabouts of the pool, sauna, jaccussi, steam room, and ciggie room, and conveniately forgot where the gym and studio were!! After my wonderful massage and a spot of sunbathing in the beautiful gardens it was time for dinner (all inclusive in the price I may add- also brekkie and lunch), a wonderful 3 course meal. Of course being a health farm, the chicken supreme had no cream in it, but was delicious all the same and we even got steamed pud and custard for dessert! The next day I had a facial, pedicure and a seaweed bath for my treatments ( I paid extra of course for the facial and pedicure), and did a spot of swimming/sunbathing/sauna, etc, etc. By the time hometime came, I almost cried. I wanted to stay in this haven forever! But alas
, all good things must come to an end and I had to leave. I will be back though, safe in the knowledge that ALL staff were friendly, helpful and professional the range of treatments were exceptional, food was great. atmosphere was nice, great location, nice clean rooms and knowing that being treated like Royalty is not just for the Windsors!

                  Disadvantages

I think the term 'Life after Death' is a very 'loose' statement. What kind of life? Heaven? Spirits? Angels? The fact is, there has to be something. Too many people have seen ghosts or visited a medium for us to dismiss it all as wishful thinking. Many religions have their own views on where we go when we die and some cultures have little rituals to make sure people go to heaven (or the equivelent). But surely not only one religion is right? Because heaven would be a very small place. I use the word heaven in the loosest term possible because I do not believe heaven is fluffy white clouds and angels playing their harps, it is whatever you want it to be. After all, the definition in the dictionary for heaven is:Any of the places in or beyond the sky conceived of as domains of divine beings in various religions. But I do not want to sway too much in to the religious side of things. Take psychics, they are often accurate in premonitions or contacting the spirit world (although there are a lot of fakes out there), I for one believe that these premonitions are true, mainly because I have had some psychic experiances too. I do not just mean I know when the phone will ring or wake up just before the alarm goes off (there is scientific evidence to suggest why you do those things), I am talking about plane carshes, train crashes, etc. Where would mind get this information from, it has to be from someone, and why not someone who has passed over. In conclusion, you would be crazy to think that there is nothing after death (whether you are religious or not), too much evidence has been created. And remember, just because scientifically it cannot be proven, we will all know when our time comes.

So, another rags to riches tale....but what a tale! This book is very gripping and I completley admire 'Sir' Richard for his honesty. Many times I have read biographies where the person in question makes himself/herself out to be the victim, but Richard Branson has not glorified anything in this book, just told it how it was. There is also a lot of humour in it too, I found the story about his girlfriend having an asthma attack while they were making love very very funny (he thought she was wheezing from pleasure)! The way it is written makes you truly belive you were there, he desribes things with just enough detail, but too much so you get bored! I was very shocked with a lot of it, especially the whole British Airways saga. I doubt very much I would fly BA again, not just because of Richard Branson, but because I would'nt feel comfortable flying with such a company that could sink so low because they had a little competition in the air. When Richard Branson talks about money, he's very frank, facts and figures all written down, and how he was in debt. Conclusion: a fantastic read, definitley reccomend it to anyone - I couldn't put it down!

I am doing an evening class at college at the moment, studying English. Our teacher introduced us to Alan Bennet and I have to say, I really enjoy his monologues. They are very cleverly written, all about someone just talking on their own, often about the elderly. Alan Bennet has a lot of humour in his work, but not rip-roaring side splitting humour, just something to snigger about. For example "Cream Cracker under the settee" is about an elderly woman who lives on her own. She's very independent but has a home help. Shes not very impressed with this home help though and once she's gone Doris (the mail character)tries to clean things shes missed. She falls though and hurts her leg, and can't move. She then starts talking about the past, how her hubby was a waste of space but you still get the impression she cared for him very much. She does'nt know what to do because she can really only shuffle along the floor, when she spots a cream cracker, dusts it off and eats it! She see's a boy in her back yard and thinks about going to ask him for help but then she sees him peeing by her dustbin, and tells him to scram! Lady of letters is another story that comes highly reccommended. Alan Bennet is a highly talented a man, definitley worth a read.

I've never been a huge fan of 'Posh Spice', or the spice girls for that matter. But after watching Victoria Secrets on telly (Victoria Beckham went round interviewing stars) I noticed that she had a wicked sense of humour about her, nothing like the 'bit of posh' that is portrayed in the media. So when I heard the book 'Learning to fly' was being released a week before my 22nd birthday, I begged and pleaded everyone I knew to buy it for me. Well, my good old mum came to the rescue and bought me the book. When I put my daughter to bed that night, I sat down with a glass of wine and read.......and read.......and read......and read! TIll 3 in the morning to be exact! I just could'nt put it down. It's not that it was totally gripping stuff (not at the beginning anyway), but the way it was written was fantastic. It was easy to get a mental picture of her. I had no idea that she was unpopular at Laines, her theatrical school, and it was nice to hear she had spots! This book takes you through the journey of not just the spice girls and David, but about other boyfriends, her parents, he brother and sister, her few friends.....everything really. There is a section in the book, somewhere in the middle, where she tells of the lies that the press has printed off about her. Some of the stories had me in stitches and i have to say I will never believe the press again! The last section of the book is definitley the most exciting, getting with David, having Brooklyn, kidnap attempts, poison letters and lots of other weird stuff! So, in summary; An honest account of Victoria Beckhams life, a lot of humour and very well wrotten. Definitley worth a look I say!

Most people know the tragic story behind Eva Cassidy so I won't go into too much detail but for those of you who don't know the story, here's a breif summary.... Eva was a very talented singer who sang in blues/jazz clubs. But sadly at the age of 33 in 1996, she died of Cancer - before she ever got discovered. She had made a couple of albums and i'm quite sure she would have made a very successful performer in time, had time not been against her. After her death a record producer heard some of her songs and decided to release some albums, making 'Songbird' go to number one in the uk album charts. The song's on this album are fantastic, it's very hard to describe in words what the music does to you. What Eva did with music is a mystery to me, there's power, drama, sweetness and deepness in her voice. She sang her own version of 'Over the rainbow' better than the original, which is not an easy thing to do - it's a classic song that everybody loves, but she managed to bring a whole new world to it. 'Fields of Gold' is one of my favorites on the album, I never did like the original version and I admit I was disappointed to find this the first song that came on. But to my surprise, it was lovley, it has real feeling. Wade in the water is a very jazzy song, you will find your feet tapping whether you want to or not! I would reccomend this to anybody, it really helps you relax and to sit back and realise just how lucky you are!

Having listened to talk radio right from the start with the likes of 'Ceasar the Geezer' (anyone remember him?) and Anna Raeburn (agony aunt), I was gutted when I heard they were changing to talk sport. I thought I was going to burst into tears! (well, not quite but you get my drift, right?) I hate sport, all forms of it! But I found myself listening just to see what changes they made.(i've actually learnt a thing or two about football! Sometimes I really enjoy daytime!) I was annoyed to find they'd taken the problem area away, they were extremely amusing! But glad they kept the likes of James Whale and Tommy Boyd. James Whale is on at 10pm Monday to Friday. He is open, honest and blunt, but highly addictive! Sometimes, he can get a bit carried away, like the attack on America. Although it saddened us all to the point of tears (well, me anyway!), 2 weeks on and he is still talking about it. Its a very important issue to discuss I agree, but only so much can be said about the atrocity of it all. Apart from that, he is normally worth listening to. Sometimes he has a psycic on his show where people call in to have a reading, he is spookily accurate! The best presenter by far (on all stations) has to be Ian Collins (1 am), he does quirky little shows like 'kill my query' where listeners send in questions such as "who was Tom, Dick and Harry in the saying". Other listeners answer them. Brill! He is a very funny man who picks up the funny little things in life! Listen in the evening if your not into sport, you won't be dissapointed!

Dont underestimate the power of QVC! They really are convincing the way they waffle on about stuff, many a time, I have sat there wishing I had money in my account for that necklace or food proccesser I would never use! Sad, are'nt I????? I have a list of good and bad things about QVC, we'll see if the good outweighs the bad or vice versa. GOOD: Presenters are talented - ok, ok, calm down, you can stop laughing now! Seriously, try this test at home. Grab a bracelet and a friend, now try and 'sell' your bracelet to your friend for 10 minutes. Its really hard! You have to be talented to a certain degree do talk that amount of ****! (sorry, children may be reading this!) Freephone number - you can place as many orders as you like without running up your phonebill! 30 day money back guarentee- even if you have used the product and did'nt like it. (my mum did that with a mini oven once, and it was filthy when she sent it back!) The comedy of it all - apart from laughing really hard at their cheesy comments, being a live show means things happen. Yes, things won't work when their demonstaring it! Presenters get the giggles! Two occasions I remember most is when one guy was walking down a flight of stairs, showing off how bright somw tap lights were, when he fell! That was funny! The other one was another guy was crawling through a kids tunnel and he said "i'm 6'3, if I can get through here, anyone can." As he said that, he got stuck and tried to stand up, but then he fell, and he kept falling and ripped it too! V for value - yes, its true. Alot of the prices are a lot cheaper than the shops/ BAD: Postage - you have to pay a ridiculous amount of postage on items. The amount of jewlery hours - I like their jewelry and have bought a few peices (which are very nice!), but too many hours are spent on showing us their diamonique rings! THE V
ERDICT: I think you would agree, QVC is good! How many people can admit to watching QVC and not seen something they want to buy? If you can think of any other good or bad things, let me know and i will add them.

                              Advantages

                              Disadvantages

Well, I have to admit, I stumbled across this site completley by accident, and not being a proffessionall better (I mean, so far, the most i'd ever gambled is £1 buying a lottery ticket!), I was a bit dubious about the whole thing. But I noticed your first bet was free up to £20, so I thought, what the heck! I did'nt understand the odds thingy, I just picked a pretty name of a horse. For the first time ever, that afternoon, I eagerly sat by the tv screen watching the horses galloping round in a circle. Imagine my delight when my horse with the pretty name won! I admit, I did'nt win much, just a few pounds. But I was ecstatic! So again, I picked another pretty name and that one won too! So far, I only put on the occasional £1 here and there and I certainly don't win every time, but I have made a few quid from it! I guess the moral of my story is.......you don't have to be a proffesional to win! Don't be scared, everything on the site is easy to use and as long as you don't go overboard and spend a fortune, you'll doo okay. Good luck everyone! UPDATE: After an opinion by bizzyb, I realised I had not included enough info an the actual site, so a HUGE thank you to bizzy for pointing this one out! :-) As i've said before, the site is easy to use. When you first type in Ladbrokes.com, you get two options. You can choose whether to go into ladbrokes.com or ladbrokes.co.uk. Ladbrokes.com is their off shore betting service, where all betting is tax free (bonus!). They offer alot of the unusal bets such as big brother (when it was on) and the pools. Ladbrokes.co.uk are very similar but they deal mainly in the racing and football. Before you can bet, you must register but this is very quick and easy to do. Once you are registered you just simply log in every time you use the site. They accept pretty much every credit/debit card going so their should'nt be a problem ther
                              e. Unless you have no money in your bank account! At the top of the page, there is something that is similar to a toolbar. It lists the different catagories you can make a bet on. Racing, football, pools, etc. You can even bet in the casino! You very simply pick what one you want, horse racing for example. Pick a race (all placed in a very tidy list of when the races are on), pick a horse, decide whether you want it to win or second, click submit and hey presto! You wait for your horse to come in! You can also send them an e-mail if you get stuck (which i have done in the past) and they reply very quickly! Hope i've covered enough everyone, let me know what you think!
