I got this laptop just over 2 years ago, mainly because I was moving to University.
All in all, it seemed great. The speakers are loud; you get some cool features (like a tabs bar on the desktop which you can put a clock, picture, calender, notes, etc. in) and the webcam is pretty decent (assuming you're in good lighting). I also like how you can choose what colour you want.
At first it was very fast and there didn't seem to be any problems.
This lasted about 6 months before it started running a lot slower. This might have been caused by a virus, as I did get one around this time, but it did start to run slower (and still does) which I don't think should happen.
Then about 18 months after buying it the adapter stopped charging my battery - diagnostics showed that there was no problem with the adaptor or the battery, but every time I switched it on a message appeared saying that the adapter could not be identified.
Basically, the adapter will sustain the laptop's current power, but can't charge it. I didn't see this as a problem because I don't unplug often anyway. However, sometime a few weeks ago I did unplug it to take to my flatmate and show her a video. After about a minute of it being unplugged it turned off.
To date, it has 4% battery and can't be unplugged at all or it will instantly turn off. I have searched online and found that a lot of people have had the same problem with this laptop.
It's an average laptop and it'll do if you're a student but, personally, I would not recommend it to anyone. You can most likely find one at a similar price that works a lot better.
What intrigued me about this book was how mysterious it all seemed. The blurb doesn't give much away, just the basics: "Jack is five. He lives in a single, locked room with his Ma." This description gripped me from the moment I picked the book up. I'll admit that it was difficult to get into; it's narrated by Jack and, like a typical five year old, he doesn't speak properly. The novel is written how you would expect a five year old to speak but, to me, that is the genius of it. Jack's innocence is what makes the novel so gripping, I won't spoil it for you by dishing out the details but, he has no idea of what is really going on and his simple explainations of the events adds to the novel's brilliance. This is one of my favourite novels of all time; it is very sad, but at the same time it's oddly happy and you find yourself feeling as Jack does; even though you know what is really going on, you still feel totally oblivious to it in the same way Jack himself does. In my opinion, this is a must read.
I bought this anti-perspirant a few weeks ago, basically because it was the only one the Co-Op had in-stock. My experience is that big named brands generally don't work that well; Lynx, Sure, Nivea, ect. have all let me down in the past, so I was a bit unsure about buying it, but after using it I'm so glad I did. Don't know if it is made for men or women as the smell is very unisex; it does not smell overly feminine or masculine and it works perfectly. I personally struggle to find anti-perspirants which work well for me, so when I found this one I vowed never to go back to the useless brands I had tried before. Don't get me wrong, you will still sweat, I have to do a 40 minute walk to University every morning so naturally I do sweat, but it is significantly less than I have done on the same walk with a different anti-persperant. The main downside of it, though, is that it's small so you have to buy it more often, unless you can find the large one! However, I can honestly say that I would recommend this product to anyone, male or female. Vaseline Aloe Fresh all the way!
