The George Foreman Junior Health Grill
This grill i have had for sometime and love using it. it makes cooking fatty foods such as burgers and sausages just that little healthier due to draingin the fat out of the meat during its cooking cycle.
Its very easy to use just a case of turn the power on and put in your food.
This is perfect for burgers or many meats, I have noticed when cooking meats that are rather thick it sometimes burns the outside before fully cooking the meat through (i like mine well done) but this grill also works well for peppers and many other vegetables.
Its compact and doesn't take up much room so its not in the way of doing other food preparation
Overall a great product very helpful nice design and compact. cooks very well and makes food much healthier i give this item a fair 7/10 only disadvantage being as I mentioned above the burning of thick foods .
I am not sure if they still sell these grills but I know there is newer models available in many shops or online
Well this films been out some time now and i must have watched it at least 10 times.
If you haven't seen this film its basically a science fiction about a computer hacker named Neo who is being watched by a group of people who believe he is the one to end a future war on their city Zion.
Neo gets on board and enters a virtual life where limits and rules don't exist he becomes very skilled in martial arts and helps the group who include the main leader Morpheus along with Neo's future love trinity.
Viewing this movie many times shows I have a fondness for the film, I have always enjoyed these type of supernatural type scifi films so i really enjoyed watching the Matrix.
The actors played their parts very well especially Keanu Reeves who plays Neo.
This film i would say is good for the whole family yes it does have violence but it is not filled with gore and swearing or nudity.
This film will be good for any scifi fan and if you have already seen the film you will know what I'm on about.
Overall I give this film 9/10
Leads into a trilogy.
Can be purchased through Amazon for under £5 or many shops in the highstreet for around £7
Sony Ericsson Satio
My sister got this phone in a ruby red colour. To me the device feels a bit plastic and cheap which you would expect more from this high end device. An aluminium body wouldn't have gone a miss. It has a nice design with the screen being the majority of the phone.
However saying that the specification of the phone is something you would expect in 2010 and for a device costing a couple hundred pounds.
This phone was an upgrade my sister requested on her contract but was on holiday when it arrived so I had a little play around with it (with her permission of course).
The camera is really good but you would expect this from a 12mp camera.
It has all the social networking features you expect these days which allow you to update photos directly to facebook and upload videos directly to youtube.
The Screen is nice but its sensitivity isn't that great. You have to press pretty firmly on the screen for it to notice unlike other phones such as iphone and the HTC HD 2 which I have previously reviewed.
The operating system is fairly easy to navigate through using a symbian based O/S.
Personally I prefer windows mobile I don't know why as it makes the device run slow but I usually buy high end devices so they normally have the power to run it smoothly.
Overall I think this phone has great features but only suitable if you enjoy taking pictures and recording video. Apart from that it does really the same thing as a much cheaper device.
I rate this phone 4/5
My favourite cereal, the adverts show you can have weetabix with almost anything but I prefer mine just the old traditional way with just milk and a little sugar.
Weetabix is exactly what it says in the name wheat, so knowing this you know that it's going to be healthy depending on what you have with it. Most people prefer these with some strawberries or like my little nieces they prefer grated chocolate on them.
Weetabix are great for breakfast but also great as a quick snack when you don't want to make a meal.
I and my family go through a box of 36 of these within around 10days so I always buy two boxes just in case I'm a little short on money.
Now and again I buy weetabix minis with the chocolate chips and I love these also, Weetabix in general are as I mentioned my favourite cereal and I have yet to fault any of their products.
They are very healthy and great if you are on a diet containing only 0.4g of fat per biscuit.
The packaging stands out nicely with its bold yellow box with images of wheat
Here is what weetabix consists of: Wholegrain Wheat (95%), Malted Barley Extract, Sugar, Salt, Niacin, Iron, Thiamin (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Folic Acid
Overall a delightful cereal, healthy with a lovely crunchy consistency which softens with milk making it perfect for young children. Rated 5/5
Can be purchased for around £1-£3 depending on pack size from most stores.
I have been a member of play.com now for around 2 years and I have had nothing but good service from this website.
The site itself is very easy to use with simple category listings on the top of the website and also down the left hand side. It also has a search box to find the item you want quickly.
The home page always shows you the current best deals and the most popular products purchased from the site.
The checkout is very secure if you are new to the website once you sign up you enter your card details in once and they save for all future purchases. The good thing is even if someone uses your login details your card details are starred out so no one can see your details.
The prices of play.com will always beat high street prices, you will see when choosing a product how much it would cost you in the high street compared to how much play.com charge which is useful.
The best thing about this website is everything you buy no matter how small or how big it is always free delivery.
So if you cannot be bothered or you are too busy to go out into town and look for something or even if you are wanting something large and haven't got anything to bring it home in play.com becomes very handy delivering everything within just a couple of days.
I have purchased a lot of things from play.com mainly just electrical and i have never had a problem with delivery. Even with the royal mail postal strike on last year I still received the items i ordered in a perfectly reasonable amount of time.
Overall a great website when looking for high street items at a lower cost with free delivery. Highly recommended and rated 5/5 due to having no issues at all with the service.
Sorry I cannot comment on the customer service as i have never needed to phone them.
Smirnoff Purified Vodka
As a big fan of vodka I prefer to buy one of good quality which lowers the chance of dehydration and cause hangovers.
Smirnoff is the perfect solution for nice purified vodka which is of a good price and great quality. I really don't like the taste of vodka if drinking it without other flavours. But when mixed with coke, orange or any fizzy drink really, it takes the taste of vodka away and you end up with basically a homemade alcopop, and as with all alcopops such as WKD I personally think they all taste lovely as vodka when mixed is virtually tasteless.
Sometimes I can get a bit careless and put too much vodka in a drink and with the alcohol content in Smirnoff vodka being 37.5% you can taste the difference, the more vodka in the drink the less fizzy and the more disgusting the drink becomes unless you are a fan of drinking vodka without mixing.
Smirnoff vodka overall is a great drink and perfect for parties, it has very little taste and is perfect to mix with a variety of different drinks. With Smirnoff being triple distilled there is less chance of feeling ill the next day.
Its worth every penny and is slightly more expansive than cheaper alternatives such as glens but the quality does show in the taste, I rate this drink 4/5, perfect for partied tasteless when mixed but not the nicest to drink without mixing.
Average price is between £12-£14 depending on the store and can be found in the majority of supermarkets
HTC HD2 Smartphone
My previous contract expired two weeks ago and so I was looking for a new phone.
I was with Vodafone and now I am with Virgin Mobile because I managed to get the HD2 with a great talk and text package with internet. And with a phone like this the internet is needed.
The phone itself is brilliant, I love my high tech phones and the HD2 is the best I have had so far
It has a massive 4.3inch High resolution display which is perfect for watching videos, browsing websites and looking at your photos.
The sound quality is fairly decent but when connecting the earphones via the 3.5mm Headphone jack the music is really crisp and clear with plenty of base.
The good thing is it has an audio booster so if you lose the original headphones and buy a cheap pair you can improve the sound quality on them with this option.
The camera is a brilliant 5MP with touch focus and when viewing on the large display you can see all the details in a clear image.
The memory built in to this device is ok but not really sufficient as it only contains around 150MB, this may differ on each device but that is what mine has but you do get a 2GB memory card with the phone which is very useful
The phone has a very well built metal body with firm rubber grips for you to handle the phone easily.
The battery life is good I haven't charged mine now for 4 days but I haven't listened to music or made any calls on it during this time I have only replied to text messages so I haven't used it much and the battery is still on a respectable 32% as I write this.
Of course with the screen being so large that will use the battery quickly and for people who use their phone often and watch videos and such then this will most likely need charging daily but it does only take around 2 hours to fully charge and it can also charge via the USB cable supplied via your computer.
The speed of this device is amazing, it is virtually lag free mainly due to it's very powerful 1GHz Snapdragon processor.
The O/S of the device is very smart it uses what HTC call HTC Sense.
This is a tab based interface which is extremely easy to navigate. it also has your social network needs such as twitter, Myspace and Facebook .
Each tab shows a different category such as messaging, internet, email, contacts, Images & video.
You can personalise all these to change the order in which they appear or add and remove tabs to suit your needs.
The pack you get with this phone contains the HTC HD2 Mobile phone, USB Charge cable and Plug, 2GB memory card, Leather pouch to protect the phone when on the move and then finally the legal documentation and help guides.
Overall I really like this phone and will be happy to have it for the next 2 years until this contract ends.
I have not had any issues with it as of yet but I will update this review if I come across any
So all in all a great device and I will happily score this 5/5.
If you are looking to buy this phone it can be purchased from Amazon for £470
Or Get it on contract like I did, the cheapest I found is the one am on which is Virgin Mobile £30 per month 24 months. With this you get 800minutes unlimited texts and unlimited internet access.
Family Guy TV Series
Apart from the Simpsons, Family guy is one of my best animated series on TV.
Family guy has so many comedy moments mainly adult comedy so not a cartoon to let the kids watch but every character is very funny in their own way
First off we have Peter Griffin the father and one of the main characters in the series who is one of the finniest characters in the series.
He is rather stupid and comes out with the dumbest things you can imagine which make me cry with laughter.
Lois is the red headed wife of Peter who is more down to earth and the clever one in the family although at times she can get just as stupid as Peter.
Unlike peter she is not as funny as the rest of the main characters but you still get a few laughs from her from time to time.
Stewie Griffin is the talking baby who I think is the funniest character in the show with almost everything he says making me laugh.
He has big plans for world domination and tries to make weapons to take over the world and also kill his mother Lois.
Meg is the daughter and a young teen of Peter and Lois.
She always tries to get a boyfriend and fails and is very self conscious about how she looks.
She is somewhat funny but like Lois is only funny at certain times.
Chris is the dumb son and he is very funny, I really like this character you don't see him as often as Stewie, Peter and Lois but when you do see him he will have you laughing.
The dog Brian is also a very good character in the show and the cleverest one of the lot. For a talking dog he is always the one with the answers and who the rest go to for help.
He is also funny but he is a more serious character.
And finally for the main characters we have the friends of the family called Quag-mire, Cleveland and Joe.
Quag-mire is the horny friend always looking to hook up with some chick.
Cleveland who now has his own show called the Cleveland show is the black guy who is very funny and a great character.
Joe is wheelchair bound and has some great storylines in the show and is also a cop.
So that's the basics about the main characters you will see and what great characters they are. Am sure if you have watched this show you will know what I am talking about, they are all extremely funny and every episode you watch will have you giggling with laughter.
The only downside to this show is it is now being repeated many times on TV mainly on BBC Three.
This is a good thing for those who haven't seen it yet but like me I have saw almost every episode and watching them 3 or 4 times it does lose some of the humour but even after watching it many times there is still a lot of laughs in there.
As I said at the beginning of the review it is more of an adult comedy as there is swearing but it does contain very little if any nudity.
Overall because of the amount I laugh at this show I give it a 4/5, it would be a 5 if I wasn't watching repeats all the time but apart from that it's an amazing show.
Law Abiding Citizen
Law abiding citizen is a film about a man who takes the law into his own hands after men broke into his house and killed his wife and daughter which one was granted to be free after just a couple of years in prison while another man is executed by lethal drug cocktail.
Gerard Butler who plays the victims husband and father called Clyde Shelton takes revenge on the two men who murdered his family.
He plans for 10 years and when the first murdered is going to be execute Clyde changes one of the drugs causing the man severe pain, While the other murderer has been released.
The fact the Clyde takes the law into his own hands by going after the men who killed his family is very intriguing, he is a very clever thinker and the things he comes up with to take revenge is great.
I especially like all the contraptions he sets up to get his own back on the justice system for letting one of the murderers go after a couple of years in prison
Most people think the story line is the same as many in the way that a man's family gets killed so he takes revenge but it is a lot more than that.
Clyde goes to prison after setting up the released murderer and leading him into a warehouse where Clyde disembowels him and cuts off all his limbs (very gruesome).
Once in prison he asks the district attorney called Nick Rice played by Jamie Foxx for favours like a big meal or a soft mattress as a deal in order to save other peoples lives.
After many of the deals go wrong many people end up dying but it's the way they die that is extraordinary.
I think the story is very good and like I said before the things he does while in prison are unbelievable but if you haven't watched the film you will find out how he manages to do the things he does.
This film overall is a brilliant adult film I wouldn't suggest it for kids or young teens due to the graphic nature and violence of the content but am sure for everyone else you will love it like I did.
Not only is the story good but the acting is brilliant with Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx Playing their parts perfectly.
I loved every minute of this film and have now watched it three times. Overall I give this film 5/5 because it has everyone you need in a gruesome action/drama film.
You can purchase this film on DVD and Blu-Ray from Amazon from £15 and will be easily available in the majority or CD/DVD stores
This film released in 2009 has a different take on your standard vampire stories and I think it was very interesting to watch how the story unfolded.
Daybreakers is a vampire film set in the year 2019 when there is only 5% of human life left in the world, the rest turned to vampires.
Normally with vampire films you see them turning humans into vampires or just killing humans for blood.
This film is different in the respect that the humans willingly choose to become vampires but as the blood runs low the vamps begin to starve and turn into demon type vampires which have to be killed as they cannot be controlled and kill everything in sight.
The actors played the parts extremely well and this film has become one of the best vampire movies I have seen.
I just love how the story is unusual to the rest.
Ethan Hawke who plays Dr Edward Dalton is trying to find a way to make a blood substitute before the human race runs out but instead finds a cure from a friend who was once a vampire and turned back human
My eyes were glued to the screen from start to finish but at times it was slow but got into the story in depth which kept it interesting.
I have always loved my horror and action films and I believe this is a mix of both it isn't really scary but with the amount of blood and gore I wouldn't recommend this for a young family
I did love the affects especially when the vamps went out into sunlight and turned to fire then dust.
Overall this is a great film and worth watching more than once and I would recommend it to any action/horror fan who likes vampire movies.
I give this film a 4/5 as it is very entertaining.
As of this review the film has not yet been released on DVD
Philadelphia Light Garlic and Herb
This spread is absolutely delicious, perfect for any cheese lovers
The spread itself has a perfect balance of garlic and herbs which are not too over powering but refreshing and light.
As with all cheese spreads light or not they still contain a significant amount of fat but this spread only contains 3.5grams of fat per 30gram serving which is not to bad if you are only having this as an occasional snack.
This spread has a lot of uses, it can be used on sandwiches, homemade pizzas, crackers, salads and the list goes on.
It has a very creamy texture basically just like butter but with a hint of cheese, garlic and herbs which just melts in the mouth.
I had the spread on some crackers earlier today and the crunchy cracker with the soft cheese spread was a delight to taste and so I made some more.
The packaging for this spread is great as it is designed to give it a much longer life because it uses a plastic tub with a foil covering and an air tight seal lid

I bought this spread from ASDA costing £1.48 for a 200g tub, if you don't shop at ASDA you will find this product in many high street shops or grocers.
Overall a delight to have for a snack and I will make sure I always have another tub before the current one runs out, the garlic taste is mild so even if you don't like garlic you will still be able to stomach this.
This product gets a 5/5 from me as there is no faults with it whatsoever.
EBay is one of the first auction sites to hit the internet and was founded in 1995 by Pierre Omidyar.
The auction site is a great way to buy and sell goods very cheaply and to also make money through selling your items and many people have made their own businesses by selling through eBay.
When you load up EBay you can see all the popular items being sold, it has a nice clean website which is very easy to navigate, they have a categories section and if you click this which is located at the top under the eBay logo you will be taken to a huge list of items that suit practically anything you need.
EBay has stuck with the same colour theme since it was founded and has become very recognisable.
Once you sign up you have a section on the website called My EBay, this is where you see everything you have bought, sold or selling.
***Buying and selling***
I have sold and bought many things on eBay and it is very easy to do so.
All that is required is for you to just type in what you are looking for and click either buy now if that option is available or enter a bid.
It is generally best to bid when an item is in its last minutes as there is a big chance with the item ending soon that many people will try and outbid each other so I prefer to bid last minute if the price is still in my range.
Selling on eBay is easy, just click sell write about the item upload a picture and enter shipping info and price details.
To buy or sell eBay insist you have a PayPal account as that is their preferred method of sending your payment and the majority of sellers and buyers use this and it is overall much safer than sending cheques or postal orders through the post.
*** Costs ***
EBay make their money when you sell an item, they charge you to list the item although this is normally around 20p unless you add additional features such as make your item stand out by making it bold or highlighted or even adding a theme.
This is not the only way eBay make money they also take 10% of what your item makes so if you sell something and it goes for £100 they take £10 which is very steep in my opinion, 2-3% maybe but 10% is a lot.
When your item sells and you receive the money to your PayPal account, PayPal also take a small fee this is around £5 for every £100 that you receive so when you look at it like that you sell an item for £100 you will actually only get around £80-£85 from it
Overall eBay is great to make some extra money with things you no longer need or use.
You can buy items cheaply from eBay and they sell almost anything even cars, houses and holidays.
I have had some bad experiences using eBay when selling such as sending an item and the buyer claiming they didn't receive it and this entitles them to get their money back which means i lost the item and the money so I always send my items via tracked delivery.
I give eBay a 7/10 I would like to give 10/10 but I won't mainly due to the fact the fees you need to pay them and the issue I had with buyers claiming they didn't receive items I, but as long as you send items tracked you shouldn't have no issues.
ASDA Pizza base mix
This pizza mix is very useful for creating lovely pizzas at home, I didn't have anything to put on mine apart from mozzarella cheese and tomato and herb sauce and even with just them plain ingredients it tasted lovely.
This mix is very easy to make just add some warm water, mix and done.
Once the mix was made it was very easy to roll out and shape.
I enjoy my thin and crispy pizzas so I made the base very thin and left it to rise in a warm place for 10minutes then added my toppings or topping in my case.
Once baked for 20minutes at 200c the pizza came out with very crispy edges and a slight crisp going into the middle of the pizza, it all cooked perfectly throughout and is a great mix.
However if you are looking for a plain base then this is perfect but if you are wanting a base with slight more taste then this isn't for you. Although the pizza was overall delicious the base itself was very bland and had no taste at all but because the mix is dry ingredients you could always add some herbs in there if needed.
The ingredients in the pack are:
Wheat Flour , Dried Yeast [contains Emulsifier (Sorbitan Monostearate)] , Vegetable Oil , Salt , Soya Flour , Emulsifiers (Mono- and Diacetyl Tartaric Acid Esters of Mono- and Diglycerides of Fatty Acids, Sodium Stearyol-2-Lactylate) , Dextrose , Flour Treatment Agent (Ascorbic Acid)
Overall a great pizza base for any pizza and for just 50p that makes two 8inch pizzas or a massive 16inch pizza it is great value , you buy this mix from ASDA and it is contained in a small cardboard box with 2 sachets each one making 8inch pizza or bigger if you're like me and prefer thinner pizzas.
I give this mix 4/5 because it's easy to make, good value and makes nice and crispy pizza.
Hovis Bread mix
Well I decided to do my shopping online with ASDA and the Hovis bread mix was one of the items i purchased.
As soon as they arrived I wanted to try this out as I have not used my bread maker in a while. Each bag contains 495g of bread mix which will make a 2lb loaf. All you need to do is just add water to the mix if making it without a bread maker or water and a little butter if using the bread maker.
The ingredients in the pack are as follows:
Wheat Flour , Salt , Dried Yeast , Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil , Emulsifiers (Mono- and Diacetyl Tartaric Acid Esters of Mono- and Diglycerides of Fatty Acids, Sorbitan Monostearate , Mono- and Diglycerides of Fatty Acids, Lactic Acid Esters of Mono- and Diglycerides of Fatty Acids) , Improving Agent (Calcium Sulphate) , Dextrose , Flour Treatment Agents (Alpha Amylase, Ascorbic Acid) .
Once the bread was finished I let it cool and tried it, and it was delicious it had a very fluffy centre with a nice crispy crust.
My family loved this mix and I will be buying again at just 50p per packet it's cheaper and much tastier being home cooked than buying a standard loaf of bread from a shop.
Overall I would recommend this mix to anyone even if you do not have a bread maker, you cannot beat the fresh taste of homemade bread and with it being a Hovis mix you know it is going to of good quality, I give this mix 5/5 because it's delicious, light and fluffy with a nice crust.
Motorola RAZR V3
This was my phone before I got a contract phone and it worked fine I didn't have any issues with it apart from texts, it only stores 10 messages and you can't receive no more until you delete some which makes it pretty useless as I enjoy texting so instead I always had to make sure I had credit on this phone so I could just phone people instead of texting and any texts I did get I would read then delete.
The phone features a pretty basic it does have a cam but the pictures are terrible but i suppose this is an old phone. The thing that got my attention on this phone is the design it has a very slim metal body with dual screens the main one and a smaller one on the front which shows the time and if you have any alerts.
I used this phone just for basic stuff really such as calling, alarm and receiving texts.
It doesn't really have enough inbuilt memory to store any songs on the phone and it doesn't have a memory card slot, so overall this phone for me is useless. I mean it still costs £70 on Amazon and for that price you could get a far superior phone. So if you're looking into getting this and you're into your music or texting i suggest you try something else as this just won't cut it
Overall useful as an address book and an alarm but not useful for much else i give this phone 3/10 which is the lowest i have scored anything so far.
