Vallerina is a herbal replacement for good old fashioned vallium to get you off to sleep. Vallerina comes in small tablets that personally smell and taste revolting - it even leaves an after taste in your mouth. I have not slept well for the past 12 months, and have been waking periodically every 2-3 hour. I take 4 tablets a night, at about 11 pm, and go srtaight to bed. Since I have taken them I have slept straight the way through the night until 8am. I waver smell and taste of the tablets inview of my nights sleep. The whole box costs about £6.00, and can be bought from good Natural Herbal Outlets. I have also not experienced any side effects to the tablets
The author Renate Dorrestein is one of Holland's best-loved author's - her novels have been bestsellers and nominated for the lIbris prize. A Heart of Stone is written through the eyes of a child, travelling through a 'normal family life and into adulthood. The story is set in the 1970's, and the child's father and mother runs a business from their home, and has 4 other siblings. After the fourth is born her mother displays erratic and strange behaviour towards the new child, and over protects it. The other children are becoming pushed out, and her parent's marriage is breakin gup. Then the unspeakable happens, and the mother kills herself, her husband and 3 of the children (including the baby) The teenage girl and 4 year boy survive and are put into foster care. The boy is adopted and the girl leads a turbulent adolescent life but eventually qualifies as a Mortician. Ths story is very well written travelling backwards and forwards through her life. It depicts a hard and unemotional side to a child, and her harowing experience of surviving her mother's torture.
X Men is a film of a comic series from the 1970's. This so called 'boy's comic definetley kept a girlie like me entertained. The DVD though, did disappointment me as it did not have many special features - extra filming, and photoi and comic gallery, but no interviews or special effects - so that really did lower my enthusiasm. The acting was very good, and has Halle Berry playing one of the mutants Storm. This film portrays the secret life of human mutants on earth - the film starts in the 1940's as a family is led in a concentration camp - the 11 year old son is split from his parents and displays special strengths, by mind power and movig and bending objects. This boy becomes the baddie in the film (as an adult) and his friens, also a mutant, is the goodies. Eventually they are plaed against each other to save the world - and of course guess who wins. Each mutant displays very different powers, from making a ball of fire, replaing objects with ice, and making weather changes. Definetley worth a watch
E.R is an american series based in Chicago about an A&E Department (E.R is american for A&E) - it has been on our screens for about 6 years now and the writing just gets better......as a nurse myself I feel that it portrays the enthusiasm, excitment and overall challenging situations that the medics and nurses have to work with.....it depicts most graphically and relistically all kinds of traumas ie car crashes, stab wounds, gun wounds to births and challenging behaviours in the patients and relatives....the only disadvantage is that it is not shown throughout the year, but the rest is brilliant......unfortunatley not the faint hearted....the acting is fantastic and the storylines for the medics, burses and patients seem portray everyday life, and are followed from series to series....a ward winning it is!!!
David Pelzer writes this gripping and emotional novel about himself between the ages of 5 - 11. He has two brothers, mother and father. Unitl the age of five, David's life was like no other child's - full of love and tenderness from his parents, and a positive and nuturing environment to grow. A the age of five David's mother starts to become violent, belittling and monstrous like towards him. She used verbal and emotional abuse to him, and eventually makes hi eat only scraps of food from one day to the next from the dog's plate, and makes him sleep in an army cot, with only a thin blanket, in the cellar. he is made to go to school, with old smelly clothes on, but only after he gets up early and does the all the chores. During this time he sees his siblings live in a loving cocoon, with their mother's love. His father is a fireman, but he too is bullied by his wife, and although sees David suffering, turns his face and ignores it. Eventually after loosing weight, being stabbed in the stomach by his mother, stealing food in his school, siting in a freezing bath water for hours, a teacher reports him to the social services. He is taken away by a policeman and placed into foster care. Although this book is harrowing to read (and not recommended for a person who has been in a abusive family) it is written in a positive vibe, and this child never gives up hope. David, as an adult, does't want people to feel sory for him, and this is portrayed well. A masterpiece toread and has two other chapters to his life in separate books.
This film was made in early 1990, and has a young Julia Roberts. It is based in America, about 4 friends who are training to be doctors, still in College. They are presently doing work in hospitals, and are learning about the resusitation equipment (the two pads on the chest when somebody has a heart attack). One of them dares to be sedated somuch he needs to be resusitated, and is thrown simutaneously into a nightmare of his life (he is running in a dark wood and is being chased by some school boys, and then feels he is falling)..what he does't realise until later that night at his home that one of the boys (who is dead) comes and visits him and violently throws him around. All his friends want to be sedated and resusitate, and they are experience past real life nightmares - Julia Roberts keeps going into a bathroom and seeing her father shoot himself with heroine in the arm, when she is little. This is definetley a profoundly gripping storyline, and is well written. It remains one of my favorites, after all these years.
Michael Douglas and Gwyneth Paltrow star in this thriller as husband and wife. Michael is a millionaire businessman who takes his marriage and business very seriously - but mostly his business. Gwyneth is a lonely and frustrated Art Dealer, who starts an illicit affair with a unknown artist. Michael feels all is not well in the mariage, and when he and Gwyneth visit an Art Gallery night exhibition, and this young artist is present, he feels it is he who is having an affair with his wife. Michael then has the couple followed and pictures are taken - he visits the artist at his home, and confronts him in a very cool manner that he knows about the affair - but he offers him a large amount of money to kill his wife. The intrigue and suspence then sets in, as arrangements are being made to kill his wife. This is a sit on your edge film, and is directed very well. The storyline is well written, and as like all good thrillers has a twist.
Drew Barrymore, Lucy Lui and Cameron Diaz star in this updated version of the 1970's very popular Tv series Charlie's Angels - and for those who have no idea what it is about - a mystery million has trained and employed 3 gorgeous intelligent girls for a private investigation agent - and they have a male manager called Boswell. This film has action, comedy and a very good storyline. The acting is excellent and the film is well directed. These 3 girls have all different personalities - and they are hired to investigate and go undercover in a kidnapping. Ther is a twist in the story, where the kidnappers have actually staged the kidnap so that they can claim the kidnap money ......a very exciting funny film, and boy can these girls kick butt!!!
Tom Hanks and Helen Hunt star in this much hyped film - a mixture of romance and drama. Thinking that this film would be boring with only one person in it - ITS NOT!!! The direction and graphics of this film are fantastic - especially the plane disaster. Tom Hanks and Helen Hunt are in a long term relationship - they are based in America but he works for a freight company in Russia, and commutes regularly back and forth. On the way back to Russia, on Christmas Day, Tom is involved in a plane crash (on a frieght plane) and finds himself stranded on a desert island. During this filming Tom Hanks is able to put on 6 stone, and then loose it for years later on the island. His only companion is a football (found in a washed up freight package)....he eventually builds himself a 'log raft, and embarks on a unplanned sail amongst the sea - he looses the ball, comes close to death, and gets rescued - magnificent scenes of a whale near him........eventually he meets Helen Hunt again - who is married and has a child - and they are emotional and stay friends - This film kept me surprisingly entertained throughout, and am thinking of buying it on DVD
Final Destination is trying the follow the footsteps of any teenage based films - ie American Pie or Scream - and is definetely successful as a horror film - this film follows the misfortunes of an american high school class in the present day - one of the male classmates predicts an aircrash, as he and all his chum are sitting on a plane ready to take off to Europe for a school holiday trip - he screams and runs of the plane followed by a teacher and 6 of his friends - as predicted the plane crashed on lift off and all his friends die - the story then follows him predicting or feeling the subsequent death of each of his survived friend day after day - which actually comes true - unfortunatley the way these friends are both horrendously and quite disturbingly pictured that I had to switch it off half way through - this film had the potential to keep you glued until the end but the graphics were very sick and quite honestly over stepped the line of entertainment - even my husband agreed to turn it off and he loves horror movies -
Courcheval takes about 10 hours via Eurostar from Waterloo in London - this costs about £120.00 per person - I travelled in March and the snow was not at its best - but the scenery was stunning in every aspect. There are no waterfalls or old buildings, but the villages are preety and the mountains are spectacular. Courchevall is aplit into 3 villages, going up a mountain - 1350, 1550 and 1850. 1350 is very small and quant with a few restaurants (from pizza to A La Carte) and a ski lift, and 1850 is for the individual who wants to spend a lotof money on their holiday - 1850 though is where a main lift is to go further up the mountain, and many of the Ski Lesson Company's are up there - I really do recommend using Supreme Ski (extremley friendly and flexible towards your needs) email@example.com - here the restaurants are expensive, but you can eat in a pub for £10 each (having pasta, chips and cola)- everyone is very friendly and cannot do enough for the tourists - this area though from April to Ocotber is known as the 'ghost town' as all the shops close down and many of the locals go on holiday - you will find many of the seasonal locals come from Scotland and England and therefoe makes the communication better - ski lift costs £110, ski and boot hire from £100 per person - and of course you must wear sallopettes and thermals-another £100 if bought)
Night Nurse comes in a 160 ml bottle and is by Beecham's. Cost approx £1.60 per bottle. This is used for coughs, colds and flu symptoms and is used to relieve these syptoms and aid sleep. It recommends adults to have four 5ml spoonfuls, and so i did this the other evening about 10pm.......and so i slept and woke up the following afternoon at 3pm with a feeling of a terrible hang over, and did't feel fully awake for another 2 hours. Good job i'd taken that day off ill. I would not recommend to give this to children no matter what it says on the bottle (although they do have 10mls instead) - could you imagine if i had to drive after taking it. It does however warn you about drowsiness on the bottle but forgets to inform you that it can incapacitate you for a whole day despite sleep the bottle is now in the bin!
Fremfresh comes in a pink, white and green cannister, with a pink lid, and comes in a 125ml size. It costs approx £1.75 per bottle and can last approx 4 weeks depending on usage. It smells soft, fresh, hygenic and of a light fragrance and definetely. It can be used after shaving and is purely used topically over the delicate areas of a woman. It definitley gives reasurrance during times of hot weather and menstruation and gives you confidence during the day. This is a fine mist and then you can use it in a powder, or wipes which i have not used. I use this once a day and it lasts all that time - a definite recommendation to all women
Colgate Plax mouth wash comes in a clear bottle and comes in 3 different sizes, from a travel size to a 500 ml bottle. It can cost approx from 60p to £1.59 per bottle. You use it before or after brushing but not instead and it says it prolongs plague from forming, and it does just that. If i clean my teeth and use it at 8am, at 8pm i still cannot feel that film of plague on my teeth. the taste is not that bad - very much like the mouth wash you use at the dentists. Not one to use for kids as i cannot see them liking it. I cannot say whether it fights cavities, but i can say that it keeps your breath clean and fresh all day, as it says on the bottle. i have found this the best and effective mouthwash out on the present market and would recommend it for all.
this american film is obviously about a single man, who unfortunatley has a long standing girlfriend but wants to stay single, despite all his friends over the years marrying......after 3 years of courting he decides to propose to her in the famous local restaurant (where everyone gets proposed to) and he then proposes to her as if he is asking her to do his washing....respectally she is not amused with this and they have a cool separation where he inundates her with red roses....suddenly his grandfather dies and in his 'filmed will' he tells his grandson that he has left him with over a million dollars but he only gets it if he marries on his 30th birthday (which is 24 hours later!!!)....as this translusant plot thins out our single man goes around town proposing to all his ex girlfriends (as of course by now his newly ex girlfriend has gone out of town)...the hours and minutes tick by and lo and behold he gets married infront of 200 screaming women in wedding dresses to his 'loved one (as she was't really out of town but just hiding).....and that is the story line ....oen to watch when waiting for paint to dry....a typical 'shiny american love story with no real 'thick plot...you know the end when it starts
