--ABOUT THE BAND--
They are a Canadian pop/rock band that have released three albums. Their self titled album, Simple Plan, was released in 2008.
The most famous band member is lead singer Pierre Bouvier who is idolised by many teen girls around the world.
--ABOUT THE ALBUM--
1. When Im Gone (I personally LOVE this song, its really catchy and the lyrics have an interesting meaning)
2. Take my hand
3. The end
4. Your love is a lie
5. Save You
7. Time to say goodbye
8. I can wait forever
9. Holding on
10. No Love
11. What if
The first time I listened to this album, only a few songs stood out to me. Unlike the first two albums, there wasnt anything special about this one. They seem to have lost a bit of the "pop" side of their music and have made it slightly heavier and deeper than songs such as "Im just a kid" etc..
If you like bands such as Good Charlotte and Fall Out Boy, then this CD is for you.
But if you're after songs similar to those of the first and second albums, you're looking in the wrong place.
Choosing the perfect pair of jeans for your shape can be such a mission at times. There are a few basic rules to consider:
--IF YOU HAVE SHORT LEGS--
- Opt for a high waisted pair, when you wear these with a simple t-shirt tucked in it creates an effect that elongates your figure. A pair of skinny jeans with a high waist are extremely flattering, but you may have to get them tailored so they are the right length for you.
- Some brands have skinny jeans with zips at the ends, these are good when worn over shoes. A good brand to try for these is Ksubi.
--IF YOU HAVE LARGE THIGHS--
- A dark wash is the most flattering, dark blue or black are very versatile and can be worn to work as well
- A wide leg pair is a good idea as they balance out the entire leg, not to mention they are very fashionable at the moment
- Boot cut is also flattering to this shape
--IF YOU HAVE A BIG BUM--
- Go for a slightly flared pair in a darker wash
- The closer together pockets are, the bigger your bum will appear
- High waisted jeans aren't your best bet here, choose low-rise styles for a much more flattering look
- Wear a bright, eyecatching top to draw the eyes up and away from your bottom
--IF YOU HAVE LONG, THIN LEGS--
- You can pull of pretty much any style
- Avoid high-waisted jeans however, as these may make your legs seem too long
- Low rise, skinny jeans are are a great option for you
- You are one of the few body shapes that can pull off light wash denim
- If you are self conscious about your skinny legs, wear a structured wide leg pair made out of stiff denim
--IF YOU HAVE A BIG TUMMY--
- Don't wear low-rise, this will result in muffin tops (not very attractive!)
- Choose a mid-rise/high-rise pair in a stretch denim so you don't get those muffin tops
And remember, always buy your jeans a size smaller - they WILL stretch and you don't want a saggy pair!
--WHAT THEY CLAIM--
"Cleansing and removing makeup before you go to bed has never been easier. First, this gentle, dermatologist-tested formula removes dirt, oil and make-up in one easy step. Then it removes eye make-up without soaps or oils that can sting or irritate the sensitive eye area.
It rinses completely so there's no pore-clogging residue, leaving your skin feeling clean and refreshed" - Neutrogena.ca
This cleanser really makes it easy to clean my skin or even just remove make-up before going to sleep. However, I did find that it left my face feeling a bit dry but this was easily fixed with a nice dose of moisturiser.
It is essentially a bar of soap in a liquid form - it contains similar ingredients - and would be perfect for oily skin. I would not recommend it for combination skin like mine as it left the dry parts of my face feeling even worse.
- Good for oily skin, not so great for combo or dry skin. May be okay for normal skin.
- Makes removing make-up really simple
I have a few drawers full of beauty products, most of them are old and havent been used in years however I have a special drawer for my favourite products. These are the 5 products I use almost everyday, or are treasured and used only on special occasions.
1. Lancome Juicy Tube in Dragee
Hands down, this is the best lipgloss I have ever tried! It lasts forever and a day and tastes fabulous, not to mention looks great and not too shiny!
2. Redken Smooth Down Butter Treat
My hair has always been a bit dry, especially at the ends (most likely a result of too much colouring) and I was getting sick of split ends, when I read about this in a magazine. I bought it and after washing my hair, I left it in and my hair just felt fabulous!
3. Palmers Cocoa Butter
This is probably the cheapest product on this list, but it is also the most versatile. I dont think there is any part of my body that I haven't put cocoa butter on yet! I even use it on my face sometimes while I sleep and I wake up with the softest skin ever!
4. Model Co. Face Scrub
I love using this in the morning as it just seems to wake my skin up and give it a glow for the rest of the day. I used to have a lot of blackheads on my nose and this also cleared them up.
5. PanOxyl 5%
I am prone to the occasional pimple and this dries them up pronto! It isnt a "branded" product and is often prescribed by dermatologists, however in most places you can get it over the counter. I suggest you start with a lower percentage (i.e. 2%) so your skin can get used to it.
I dont own many handbags, though if I could afford it I would. I prefer to use a handbag for many months and then move onto another rather than constantly transfer my junk between bags. Therefore, I have collected many things in my current bag.
These things include:
- A "Toyota Racing" cap = from a race meet about a month ago. Its an attractive bright red colour and I found it quite useful this last summer...
- Tickets from the last race meet = Dont know why on earth I still have these. I'm rather sentimental I guess!
- An empty "Jaffa" packet = This is from more than a month ago, I guess there just wasnt a bin nearby. You gotta love Jaffas though (the chocolate balls coated in red orange flavoured candy)
- An old Cadbury Dream wrapper = This must be old because I havent really eaten chocolate in a while! Probably another case of not having a bin nearby
- Sunglasses case + broken sunglasses = I put down the sunglasses in a changing room and then stepped back on them, snapping off one of the sides. Pity because they were really nice too!
- Wallet = not really any surprises here..
- A couple of loose coins
- Some loose beads from when my earrings broke
- Old bus tickets = Who knows when I last caught a bus!
- A few million reciepts
- An empty packet = yet again, I have no clue why this is in there!
I bought my LG Shine about 3 months ago and apart from a few minor issues, it is absolutely fabulous!
Lets start with how it looks - the mirrored screen looks very sleek and stylish. The buttons are flat and look similar to those of the Motorola RAZR but are easier to text with.
The brushed steel back (silver version) looks stunning and sophisticated, whereas the design on the back of the gold version is more fun and fashionable. On the downside, it is rather heavy (119g) but I suspect this is due to the metal structure.
Unfortunately, the screen and back of phone seem to attract fingerprints and smudges a bit too often - but the phone does come with a screen wiping phone charm.
Right from when you slide it open, you can tell that it is going to be a very simple phone, there is a scrolling button to make it easier to scroll down the menu and two buttons on either side of that for left and right - these replace the traditional 4-way keypad that many mobile phones have.
Text messaging on this phone takes about a week to figure out (depending on what your previous phone was) but after that it becomes easy and your fingers get used to the flat keys.
The camera quality is average, not as good as you would expect from a 2mp camera. There is terrible shutter lag, meaning that the photo captures a few seconds after you press the shutter button - often leading to motion blur.
Gucci was founded in 1921 by Guccio Gucci. It is the biggest selling Italian brand in the world and is well known by many people worldwide. The Gucci group now also has shares in many other high fashion brands including Yves Saint Laurent and Sergio Rossi. Gucci Rush was launched in 1999 and is classified as a floral scent.
----WHAT THEY CLAIM----
Gucci Rush is a fantasy to be reached through an intoxicating, addictive combination of florals and spices. A sensual burst unlike any other.
----WHAT I SAY----
The bright red plastic case didn't seem particularly "high fashion" and looked almost like a good replica, however I had to remind myself that I wasnt buying the case but rather the fragrance inside it.
The first spray smells spicy and fresh but really intense. It does however last a long time, which is unusual for sweet fragrances.
It is rather casual but may be a bit too overpowering for everyday use.
The buttery, smooth notes are perfect if you are after a girly scent.
It was founded by Hubert de Givenchy and in 1957, "Parfums Givenchy" was launched. The Givenchy style (American glamour combined with French elegance) was invented by Hubert de Givenchy and Audrey Hepburn together. Very Irresistable was launched in 2003 by Liv Tyler.
----WHAT THEY SAY----
An homage to Givenchy's early days when fashion and cinema were intertwined, Very Irresistible Givenchy unites the elegant tradition of French style with the energy & pop-culture pizzazz of American film. Bursting with roses and infused with star anise, and verbena leaf, Very Irresistible Givenchy is a fresh departure from the traditional floral fragrance.
----WHAT I SAY----
When I first smelled it, the first thing i noticed is that the scent has some quite spicy base notes. The bottle is gorgeous and suits the scent down to the ground!
There is a new Givenchy Very Irresistible which is a limited edition summer one and I have yet to try it, but it sounds like it could be a lighter version of this. I find that it lasts a very very long time. It has really nice mid-tones and all it takes is one spray of it either side of your neck and people will notice it!
The fashion label Dior was established by Christian Dior and his first collection was released in 1947. Shortly after that, he started thinking about the first perfume that he would release - Miss Dior. Today, the Dior line is designed by John Galliano
An ultimate moisturizing lip gloss helps protect your lips while hydrating visibly. Offers an incredible lip sparkle. Greatly ensures a smoother & more supple finish Promotes a slick & deliciously vibrant lips. Suitable for all skin types.
----WHAT I THINK----
From the minute I applied the gloss, my lips felt soft and smooth but it doesn't taste very nice. Taste is an important factor for me when buying lipglosses, as I have a habit of licking my lips a lot. It was extremely shiny and sparkly (I'm not sure if that's a good thing... Unless you want to look 6th grade) but it made my lips look really nice and plump. The shade I put on (Organza Pink #257) wasn't very bold, but that might just be that I didn't put on a very thick coat. It lasted reasonably well and it wasn't sticky at all, which was a nice change from my Lancome Juicy Tubes.
----WHERE TO BUY----
Blaming the media for eating disorders is the easy way out of a tricky situation. In reality, eating disorders have very little, if anything, to do with the media. Sure, many girls might compare themselves to a photo of an emaciated celebrity but the likelihood that it will turn into an eating disorder is slim to none.
There are many factors that can cause an eating disorder, such as:
- a troubled upbringing
- wanting to control something
I, as a sufferer of anorexia, know what it is like to eat very little and when I do that, I don't feel like I'm going to become skinny but rather, I feel a sense of control. My eating disorder had absolutely nothing to do with the media, although when trying to recover, looking at photos of skinny celebrities and models made me feel guilty.
Three of my friends have had anorexia, and I can say that none of theirs was caused by the media.
Clinique is a brand formed by dermatologists. Everything is allergy tested and fragrance free, perfect for sensitive skin. It first started in 1968 and the lotion version of this was one of the first ever products, they have not changed the formula ever since. The first skincare system they introduced was the 3-step skin care system, of which the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel is step 3. You can visit their stores to have your skin analyzed and have the staff there show you what products would suit your skin type. The brand's slogan is "Can great skin be created? The answer is Yes."
It works to soften, smooth and enhance the texture of your skin. It is lightweight version of the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion and is easily absorbed into your skin. It is allergy tested and fragrance free. Your skin will drink it in. The formula is developed by dermatologists to maintain optimal moisture balance for the skin.
--------MY EXPERIENCE WITH IT--------
I have bought one bottle of it before and I used it everyday and I must say, it isn't very different to most other lightweight moisturisers (many of which cost less). There is no SPF (sunscreen) in it, which is one of the first things many people look for in moisturisers. It was lightweight and absorbed very quickly. It is good for combination skin, as it moisturises dry areas and doesn't make oily areas worse. My foundation didn't go over it very evenly, which was quite annoying. I didn't have any amazing results although my face did feel a little softer but when I stopped using it the softness disappeared. The smell isn't too pleasant, but that is to be expected of a fragrance free product.
Funnily enough, I've never actually used these on a baby but I find that they are extremely useful to have in the house and in your handbag. For example, if you are trying on clothes while shopping and accidentally get foundation on an expensive dress, pull out the baby wipes and wipe it off. Also quite good if you mess food on yourself.
You can use them as cheap makeup removal wipes too. Quite a multi-purpose item actually!
If you are looking for a product that will just make your lips soft and smooth, then you should probably go and buy a chapstick and save money. However, if you like things that smell nice, come in cute packaging and feel nice, then the Body Shop Lip Butter is for you. They are quite similar to the body butter but they taste a bit nicer (you dont want to taste body butter... trust me!). Lip butter is rich and buttery and keeps your lips soft all the time, especially during winter! Plus they come in lovely flavours to pick up your mood - my favourite is passionfruit!
I bought this product hoping that it would fade a few of the tiny pimple scars on my forehead. Bear in mind that these weren't acne scars, they were just little purple spots where pimples had prevously been. I used it everyday, twice a day. I even massaged it in like the little booklet said I should do, but I didnt notice any results. It made my skin feel oily and made me break out a bit too.
However, I used it on some stretch marks and it faded those really well, so perhaps they should advertise it as something to fade stretchmarks but not scars.
The smell is a bit weird and takes a bit of getting used to, and the oil is really runny and can be quite hard to apply, especially as it stays on the surface ofthe skin.
This is one beauty product I don't mind forking out for! One tube lasts me around 6 months too. When I put on the lipgloss, it feels sticky but it tastes really nice! It lasts a very long time and it probably would last longer if I didn't lick it all off! There are so many different shades, but pesonally I like "dragee" the best. It looks white inside the tube but when applied it is almost holographic and reflects the light well without making your lips seem plastic and over the top.
I once even went swimming with it on and when I got out the pool, my lips were still glossy!
