ok not going to go into to much detail as it will probably ruin your read if you decide to buy the book. The book is an insight into Bear grylls or should i say Edward Michaels life so far. The start of the read includes storys from childhood at Eton all boys school, growing up on the Isle of Wight, family events, Uni adventures and applying for the SAS reserves. I was slightly nieve when i first started to read it as i was expecting action and adventure. More of an insight into his TV series and more detail about his achievements. Just past midway of the book he starts writing about when he climbed Mountain Everest which i thoroughly enjoyed. Bear is a great writer, if he wrote this. He doesnt ramble, he explains it simple enough to keep you glued. I was expecting alot more from his more up to date life or more stories from his Army days. But im pretty certain he will write at least another book in the future. And i WILL be buying it.
I originally bought one of these when they first come out, i liked the design and shave my head fortnightly. It looks very practical and easy to use. Now im not knocking Babyliss because in general they are a very respected brand especially in the "hair" industry. But however this product stop functioning correctly after 4 months. I look after my belongings by cleaning and maintaining them regularly. Inside there are 2 rings of metal teeth that clip your hair by moving in opposite directions, they stopped moving. I tried to fix the problem but no good. Before it broke i loved it and the practability made it even faster to cut your hair, especially the back of your head.So i decided to buy another one which cost around £25. The same problem happened!! plus the new one was not keeping its charge either. That one lasted 6 months tops. There is a serious manufacturing problem with this product, which is a shame. I currently use a Remingtons which cannot be knocked at all, its the standard shape clipper at a very reasonable price and has never let me down. When the clippers broke, for a while i was using the beard trimmer to cut my hair which was great. The only problem with the trimmer was it runs off 2 AA batteries and after 1-2 uses drains them like water down a sink. ALL in all, this product cannot be trusted and will probably let you down over a period of half a year. As cool as the design looks, it keeps your trimmings inside the clipper and after several usages will damage it. my personal opinion, look elsewhere.
I bought this watch from ebay at a very reasonable price of £70 mid 2011. It has lasted well and was definately worth the price. I like big bulky watches which this is. The main issue which i had was that the strap does have a slight cheapy feel to it along with the clasp. I never really needed the use of the "stopwatch" function either, which did make me feel like "is this the watch for me?" Over a period of time, i started to wonder whether that the watch was getting slightly dated in todays fashionable world of newness. The colour scheme, mainly red detailing seems to stick out a mile. PICKY i know. These days i wear a G shock G-9300 which admittingly is twice the price of the Timex. overall i would say its a nice well built watch except for the bracelet. Looks nice, but is dated now in my opinion. Will you see other watches and wish you had that one? more than likely.
Explosive, high octaine of a film. Everyone wanted to see these action legends together, Sly delivered it. Cheesy packed 103 minutes of non stop entertainment. Basically its about a group of mercenaries that specialize in a killing weapon. Jason Statham kills with knives, Stallone hand gun, Terry Crews big machine guns and so on. Mr Willis contracts them to kill a dictator on a island, but to befair who really cares. Mickey Rourkes tattooist part was very well acted. Theres literally 12 high profile actors in this film. Recently watched Expendables 2, so decided to watch the first one for abit of a refresher. I have to say i enjoyed the first one more, although Van Damme is amazing in the 2nd. A must own for anyone who likes Action/Adventure movies. But do not take this film to seriously, it was made to attract an audience that loved these actors in previous films from the 80s - 90s era. Rumours have been made that Expendables 3 is in production and might star Nicolas Cage, Harisson Ford, Wesley Snipes and Clint Eastwood.
I was weighing up wheither to buy the Sony NWZ-E453B or the Ipod touch But i stuck to my roots, i have very rarely recieved any problems with Sony products over a period of 15 years. Soon as i read it has a battery life of 50 hours it was done deal. I have to admit the comments i have read about NWZ-E453B volume being slightly low is right. I think this is some type of safety precaution so you dont end up damaging your ear drums. Also the headphones that come with it are of low standards i would strongly suggest replacing them with a better pair. Is it better than a Ipod touch? no. Is it alot cheaper? yes. 4 gigabytes is plenty for myself as i like having a set amount of tracks that i like and not just have on my player for the sake of it. It goes with out saying, if your seriously into your music and require a device that holds alot of tunes this is not for you, which could be one of its downfalls as it has a 50 hour battery life you could listen to around 750 tracks solid, as an estimate. it has the easy old school "drag and drop" file system as well which i prefer, i was not a massive fan of the SonicStage software they had for the NW-S200 mp3 player. Its a nice size to carry around as well, not to heavy or bulky. Overall i think this product will last along time. Sony specialize in musical devices.
This has been my favourite camera to date. Dont get me wrong, i bought the camera so i could take pictures underwater but even as a normal camera it excels itself. it takes 14.4 megapixel pictures and the out come is of high standards. ive owned the camera for 4 months now and dont even have a proper case. Afterall its described as shock proof and has a seal against dust and sand etc. The picture quality has remained spot on. Another thing that i really like is that it comes with a "camera battery" so you dont have to keep buying AA's for it. You do have to be aware though, when you take pictures underwater speckles of water remain on lens so wipe lens when wanting to take pictures on land. IT would have been nice if it had a 3 inch screen instead of a 2.7, but hey i think the price makes up for that. I have compared this to my other camera, Nikon Coolpix L810(bridge cam) which is 16.1 MP and there is very little difference in picture quality. Would easily pick the Fuji. I would recommend this camera not only just for travellers/explorers, but anyone who is after a solid, reliable, well designed piece of tech that delivers high quality pictures on a regular basis.
well, i bought this phone because i sincerely trust Sony as a manufacturer. I paid £314 for this baby which to me is VERY steep for a mobile. After careful consideration i decided to spend my hard earned cash after reading many positive reviews, as you do. The phone itself is impressive, but it should be for that price and with todays technology. Lack of wow factor is how i felt. You get all your standard features and to be fair the camera takes very good photos & the sound quality is superb for playing music on - typical Sony. But the battery life is terrible, i mean really bad.I have literally charged it 2 times in one day for at least 5 hours in total and at the end of the day it has ran out AGAIN! I think Sony have issues with battery life in general with there products, but you cannot judge them on that alone. The touch screen i feel is quite fiddly, you need to press the icons exact and with slight preassure and the back light doesnt seem to stay on for that long when operating. It definately looks the business and i would say its main feature is the camera. Would compete with top of the range digital cameras. However, i do feel Sony have rushed this product to compete with other makes such as HTC and samsung models. Im not completely satisified with the phone and will be selling it soon for a better one, hopefully.
This laptop is the Usain Bolt of computers. It has all the high specifications you expect from a top of the range laptop these days, the speed is phenominal. It handles multiple programs with ease. Plenty of storage space for music, photos etc. Personally i think its better than more expensive laptops and nearly on par with the Alienware range. Sony has always been a reliable brand in my eyes and have recieved zero faults from them, ever. Screen size is 15,5 inches big enough to watch movies on or edit pictures/videos and with 1366 x 768 resolution the images are crystal clear. This is the first laptop i have owned that has Windows 7 on, just getting to grips with the software which so far seems easy to use. Far better than Vista which i did not like at all. If anything i would say the size of the speakers slightly let it down, but the sound quality is still great. 5 star speed & performance, 5 star usability. If you have the money, buy one. The battery life lasts around 4-5 hours which incudes being online i think this is very respectable. Any issues, i would consider buying a new battery. Im pretty certain that the laptop will last a good 5 years if looked after rightly.
