Could this be the most concentrated concealer ever? Could be! This stuff is very thick, and yo even need a tiny little spatula to apply it. Lovely and creamy, but will last the day, believe me when I tell you that you need the tiniest amount of this paste to wave goodbye to under-eye darkness. I primarily purchased this to use as an under eye concealer but it's so thick and that it cqan tend to seap into the creases in my eyes, that is if i have blended it properly. My problem with this product though is it isn't moisturisng. I was hopeful that the texture and formula would be as moisturising and easy to blend as say Benefit's Some Kinda Gorgeous, but this is far more thicker and blending is fairly difficult. It'snot impossible however with some skilled make up sponge skills. It isd avaiolable in three shadres, light medium and deep. I use the medium as I am fairly dark however the deep isnt that dark either and I might of been able to get away with that one too. As it is Benefit the packaging is lovelyu and even the small spatula looks really cute. I bought mine from Debenhams for £18.50 and this is how much it costs direct from benefit also. It is fairly pricey, although the thick coverage it gives is second to none. Overall if you can put the time in to blend correctly it will look great. Will be too thick for you if you like your concealers light and fluid, as this certainly is not either.
This is the best liquid foundation I have tried and believe me I have tried a fair few! The best part is it's more affordable than alot of other high end foundations that don't perform as well. The 17 shades offer a range from ultra fair to olive, i am more of an olive tone so this was great for me. I don't know if there are any darker shades than that, so darker skins may want to choose another foundation. This product is supposed to last all day, however I found that it does fade a little if left on longer than 12 hours. Although many people probably don't need it to last much longer than this! The foundation is great as it doesn't smudge. Clinique sell this product as "transfer resistant" and I can confirm that this is definetly true of this foundation. The foundation is in liquid form so it is really easy to blend on the skin. I use a trusty make up sponge to make sure its blended properly. I love the full coverage it gives, perfect when I am called out to the hospital in the middle of the night. I just stick a layer of this on and you can't tell I have had no sleep! I buy alot of my make up from Debenhams, which you have proabaly noticed from my other reviews. This product costs me around £17.50 which i think is great compared to other such as estee lauder which can cost up to £21 for the same size foundation. Overall this foundation gives good blendable coverage which stays on and lasts.
Some Kind-a Gorgeous is a unique product by benefit. I love beenfit but it is expensive so if I am going to buy something I have to have a read around and check it has good review. For this product I found alot of positive reviews around and I can understand why. It's a cream to powder finish, and is only available in two shades. Since it is very sheer, these colours are supposed to suit everyone. I am fairly dark skinned so I was wondering if this really was the one for me, I went with the Depp shade which is recommended for olive skin. I was sceptical. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised as it does really work! I don't know how, but it really does match my skin tone. The other colour is the original which is probably for lighter skin tones. I usually apply a small amount to my nose, forehead, under my eyes and pretty much all over my face. I then smooth it about usually with my trusty make up sponge and blend. I found that it blends and applies really easily, I don't wear foundation that often so when I do I want something easy to apply, this ticks that box. This does not make your skin look oily which is great as I like a matte appearance and it does last for a long time, about 13 hours when I am at work and it still looks great. Of course as with all benefit, the packaging looks great inyour hand bag or on my dressing table. this is currently avaiable in debenhams at £18.45 which is about £2 less than i normally pay from Debenhams. It is a little more expensive but you hardly need any to create a good look! If you try it you won't be disappointed!
This is a lash saver for those of us who usually have to use waterproof mascara due to chronically teary eyes, or those of us who forget theyre wearing make up all togethr and go in for a good old eye rub! Estee Lauder claim this will last you a massive 15 hours, now I can confirm it looks great after a 13 hour shift at work so thats pretty close! It thickens and lengthens nicely and has a nice brush that easily fixes any clumping that the mascara may do. Estee Lauder call this their Lash-XtenderTM Brush. The only thing I have noticed is that sometimes it can flake off throughout the day, however I do put alot on so this is probably why! Best of all, it is great for sensitive eyes and it will remove very easily with warm water so it is easy on the eyes, unlike other mascaras which take a great deal of rubbing with an expensive eye make up remover to come off. It is available in black and brown shades, the black shade which I have is VERY black which is great for stand out lashes. It is a bit pricey, at £17.50 ish (I buy mine from Debenhams) but the results are outstanding if you are looking for smudge/tear-proof mascara that will stay on whatever yopur doing!
I might be mad, but this make up remover just doesn't float my boat at all. I have to say I was dissapointed when using it! I loved the packaging of the product the bottle looks gresat with it's friendly blue looking remover inside. I was also reassured by the writing telling me it ws non oily and for sensitive eyes. Brilliant I thought, this is until I actually used it. I like to use a good branded mascara, lancome dior and estee lauder are my faveourites, however I struggle to get a good remover for them. I found that tthis removcer did do its job. I removed the mascara using a cotton pad with a small amount of the remover on. It took it off with relative ease. However, I did not find this product non oily at all. I felt like i then had to go and scrub my face to get the oil off! In fact on closer inspection the actual clear blue liquid in the bottle looked a bit oily too. On the packaging it doesn't mention washing your face with water after application, however I could not have left it on. My face felt like I had used a really nasty moisturiser and something was still sitting on their. I was also dissapointed by the smell of this. I thought the smell reminded me of a disenfectant, defintely not an attrqactive makey smell. I understand that this product is for sensitive eyes so it shouldn't ne laced with scent, but surely something could have been done to chsnge this? Ok, now some positives. This is great for sensitive eyes like mine, I do tend to rub when I am taking my make up off and other removers have left my face red and stingy. No sign of this with this one. I also found only a small amount was needed for removal, meaning that this bottle would probably last me a long time. There was nothing special about this remover that would make me pay the shocking £16.65 per 125ml that I paid at debenhams for this product. In fact, I have probably only used it a handful of times because I have been that disappointed with it. Overall I know others like it but personally I found it not worth it's money!
After returning from Leeds festival my face was a mess, very dry and sore from standing outdoors come rain come sun. Also being completely skint I needed a quick and cheap solution. Calling Superdrug moisturiser with camomile! Firstly this is an absolute steal! £1.50 for a tub of 150ml of cream is a great price! That's only a penny a ml and when you consider how much you might spend on other brands it's easy to see why people will choose this one. Secondly, the cream itself is so rich a luxurious, your hardly aware that you are using an own brand! In these recession times everyones cutting back on their spending and the stigma of buying an own brand has gone, therefore this is an absolute must! the cream is thick and creamy without being greasy when applied to the face. You hardly need to apply any to the skin to leave it feeling moisturised, but I tend to apply a fair bit and rub it in to my neck as well, in an upward movement of course. Superdrug are also againest animal testing and this product is suitable for both vegitarians and vegans, meaning no animal matter is used in the making of it. This is great if your a either as this type of product is hard to find, especially at such a lows price! The scent of this moisturiser is lovely. As the title suggests it is of camomlie but I also find the scent quite creamy. This doesn't linger on the skin though, so your face doesn't feel heavy with fragrance. The tub suggests it be used "as part of daily routine" I tend to use mine before bed after cleansing, but I have aslo used it before applying make up and I found it was great. It didn't make the make up slide off, like other thick moisturisers can do. Overall a credit crunch busting, fab little moisturiser!
Jimmy Carr is brilliant very clever witt to him and when i saw this DVD available I knew I had to have it. I saw himin the city of Carlisle near to my home town and I was familliar with the jokjes he might tell, however there were of course variations so i still laughed my ass off! Jimmy Carr has a very clever style of telling some jokes in that hje suggests something without actually saying what you think he means, I hope that makes some kind of sense! If you like jimmy carr you'll know what i mean. although I know alot of peopl thought this was the same sort of stuff as on Jimmy Carr Live, the jokes on this DVD are entirely new and different - for example, he sticks to the, in my opinion, highly successful formula of picking out differences in class in society. However, the jokes are fresh. the DVD is not for those easily offended as Jimmy makes jokes on everything frm gypsy chavs to alton towers. Although in my opinion all jokes are in good humour. This DVD is rated 18 and I do think this is appropriate as most if not all of the jokes are of adult nature and adult themes. This DVD is relatively old now so can be picked up for a steal, so is great value for money, watch it with a few drinks and a takeaway on a saturday night in these recession times!
Harajuku Lovers G by Gwen Stefani Perfume for Women launched in 2008, there are 5 different perfumes which are named: Gwen, Angel, Love, Music and Baby. I believe these are named after her and her four dancers and backing singers. I personally have Gwen. The bottle is ultra cool. I' into funky bottles such as Sui Dreams by anna Sui, and I was bought this as a present and the bottle does not dissapoint. The actual Gwen "doll" part of the bottle is actually the lid, the perfume is in cased in glass underneath her. This fragrance reminds me of holidays as it has a distinct coconut smell, one not so far away from a malibu cocktail or some lovely coco butter sun tan cream. Everyone allways comments on this! cocnuts, jasmine, cotton woods are mentioned in the ingredients which is probably what makes it smell the way it does! The doll bottle top that I mentioned earlier, is wearing a sort of sailor outfit and black lace-up boxing boots. I would say this would appeal to a wide spectrum of ages from teens to wanna be teens like myself and older! It is available in various sizes, ranging from a more than cute handbag size 10ml to a big beautiful 30ml bottle. I have found the 10ml for around £12.50 online and the 30ml for around £20 online also. I think this is a bargain for such a well presented perfume that smells amazing! Overall a great buy whatever your age or style!
This is a great little fun game for psp full of mini games to complete either aas a single or multiplayer. This game is great for comedy value and shouldn't be taken to seriously. There are different levels of difficulty that can be played, i personally find the first few levels very easy. These are probably better for younger children. The game revolves around taking the monkeys through various tasks such as boxing, hitting things with sticks and other weird and wonderful games. My faveourites are the onemetre dash, which is pretty self explanatory. The monkeys race to see who is the quickest and it require you to tap away at the PSP as fast as you can to get them across the line. Good finger and thumb workout! Geronimo is another great little game where you must give the monkeys parachutes before they hit the floor after jumping from a plane. May sound kind of sadistic but its great fun! the multiplayer element is brill too, especially the quiz where ou must try and answer questions before your opponent. Me and my other half get extremely competitive at this game! The game is only rated ages three and over and to be honest a three year old could proabably play the easier levels. the graphics on the game are not fantastic but hey this game is not meant for this, its just light hearted minigames which i findhelp pass a long journey or flight in no time! Overall this game should be taken for what it is and enjoyed, definitely suitable for everyone. There are plenty of others around if you want to show off some graphics!
I discovered nail envy a few years ago when i started to train as a radiographer as I couldnt really wear my trusted false nails for work. I had soft and easy breakable nails and I found that this made all the difference right from the first application! Nail Envy seems to be stronger and has better adhesion than your regular clear nail varnish sold for strengthening nails. I found it also to last and last throughout my working week when constantly washing my hands. The matte Nail Envy dries to a soft sheen remarkably like clean natural nails, I would say that this could be used by a man too, as the look to your nails is matte and natural unlike any other strengthening varnish. My sister has shown me a technique also for if my nail splits fairly low down the nail bed. I simply take a small silk wrap which can be purchased pretty cheap, and apply the varnish over the top. The wrap then becomes invisible and the varnish obviously then still works to strengthen the nail. then i simply wait for the nail to grow and remove the wrap when the split is far enough up my nail! I purchased this product from amazon at £12.99 for 15ml bottle, however I am aware that they are selling it currently at £8.99 on that site which is a total bargain! I found the varnish dried quickly and like mentioned earlier gave a totally natural result. Another tip I can give you is to use this as a base coat under nail varnish. As it is a matte product it won't show through the nail color you have chosen and then you can strengthen your nail as well as wearing your faveourite shade!
Rimmel Sun Shimmer is an instant tan product meaning that it develops instantly on the skin so it's more like a foundation tan. It is available in a few shades but my faveourite (being fairly dark skinned) is the medium matte. I believe it is available in a non matte version which i think has a glitter shimmer to it, however this version is matte and therefore no glitter in the tan itself. I find this product great value compared with other tans, I have never paid over £4 for it, i usually get it at wilkinson's or Bodycare. It is a quick and cheap way to a tan for a night out. This tan can also be applied to the face, i think there is a sun shimmer face but why buy two when this one does both body and face? In my line of work I am aware of radiation and its harmful effects and I would never consider using a sun bed and when I do lay in the sun you will find me wearing a strong factor 15 or above. Therefore fake tan products seem the best way to get a lovely glow to me. With this tans there's no waiting around for it to develop so there's no excuse. The product does smell a little. It is not a false tan like smell and ladies (and some gents too) will know what i mean here. I think it is a make uppy biscuit smell myself. However once dried and after I have slapped a bit of perfume on, I cant smell it at all. Be warned however it will come off when exposed to the elements. I once spent one new years eve with very spotty arms and legs as it was snowing as i ran from pub to pub. Woops, not the best look! Overall this is a quick and cheap alternative to an expensive tan, that can be applied in a hurry for a night out or something of that nature!
As I have mentioned in other reviews i like my make up and things girlie. I LOVE this eyeliner it is great. There are many reasons so here I go This eyeliner is an automatic and long-lasting eyeliner pen. You twist the bottom of the liner to load the brush. The brush itself is fairly thick but goes into a nice thin tip perfect for application of thin or full lines. I have found this eyeliner to be very long lasting, the colour is intense in black and i find that it does not fade or smudge easily which is great. west cumbria is not renowned for its beautiful weather and although it is not waterproof, I find it stays on in the rain just great. As this liner is Dior, it is hypoallergenis and suitable for sensitive eyes & contact lens wearers. I know this to be true as my eyes are terrible if they come into contact with something chesap and nasty. The liner comes in a 1.24ml pen and as mentioned earlier you click the pen to load up the liner. The only down side to this liner is that if you forget to pop the top back on then the brush does become quite dry, although this happens with any liner. The lioner is a bit more expensive than high street brands comin in at anywhere from £14 to £22, it is worth it. I was bought one for valentines and it is still goin strong today 6 months on. Once you have opend the liner it is recommended that you do not keep it more than a year giving you plenty of time to use it. Overall another great peice of make up by Dior
unusual review from a girl but I cannot resist this game, there's just something about shooting my way through this game that I can't get enough of. The Call Of Duty series has already waded through WWII three times, and there are so many titles now using that conflict as their source, so the developer has taken the Call of Duty and made it much more up to date. Instead of the allies vs The alliance of Germany and Italy, later including Japan and other nations, we have showdowns between two groups, with the SAS and US Marines on one side, and Russian Ultranationalists and soldiers of a fictitious Middle Eastern country. The game focuses on the plight of indiviual soldiers rather than the conflict that is taking place, although obviously this story is told in the game. The game can be played single or multiplayer. The multiplayer game is also based on how well you are progressing in the war (i.e you progress level by level depending on how well your military team is doing) which i believe is new to the call of duty series? The Game's graphics are great. Everything is mind blowing and drawn beautifully and detail in the characters and backgrounds are amazing. It's hard not to get totally caught up and imagine you are there, which can be pretty scary! I haven't really played any of the other call of duty games so I cant compare the enemies, but I do know that the ones in this game are clever and do keep you on your toes. Overall a fun shoot em up game :)
Malia in Crete lies about 20 miles from the airport of Heraklion and was once an old fishing village. There aare great beaches to go to here argueably the best on the island. There are over 3 miles in total of beaches and there are all kinds of water sports which go on from jet skis to banana boats. There are hundreds of hotels and apartments to choose from in Malia. I have been here twice both with my friends and with my better half. the first year with my friends we stayed in apartments above a bar which were basic, with a pool but definitely not for younger fam, ilies or anyone wanting a quiet break as obviously music boomed out until after 6am. Which was fine for us as we were never in before then anyway! I believ these apartments were called Stellios apartments. The second accomodation that we stayed in apartments by thomas Cook gold. These were called Parthenis Palace Apartments. They were further away from the main bar street so that you could have a good nights sleep and enjoy a bit of a chill out during the day. thjese apartments are lovely clean and the pool is gorgeous. I also found the bar to great, quite cheap compared to outside the hotel and in high season it is open 24 hours! Although this hotel is a little further out so there weren't that many big groups of party goers in the bar til 8am!! At night in Malia , the endless supply of bars, discos and pubs that lead to the sea front, will ensure there's never a dull moment in this resort. Most of the clubs and bars are open until around 4-6am although there are some 24 hour bars as well! There are no huge clubs like in Ibiza but the ones that are there namely banans and Malibu are fantastic and play all kinds of music from dance and RnB to cheesy pop music. In 2006 as well we came across an Indie bar playing everything from Blur and Oasis to the Arctic Monkeys. The old town in Malia tends to be more quite, there are restaurants and picturesque scenery. I have to be honest I did not spend much time here as my holidays are normally about the pool the beach and then the nightlife! Though i did here from others that there are some fantastic traditional greek tavernas in the old town to visit. Overall i do think this destination is for younger groups and couples who want to go out and party the night away. I wouldn't recommend it for families however.
Nintendogs is an interactice game for the nintendio ds that is a step up from the cyber pet that some of you may remeber from a few years back.. ahem. I was hooked as a kid on my cyber pets, feeding them walking them and helping them live their little two dimensional lives, so when i spotted this game i knew i would love it even though now I'm supposed to be an adult!! There is much more variety than a cyber pet though. You can teach your pup tricks. in the same way you wouls a real dog, through repetition and reward. Tricks range from the standard "sit" and "shake" to the advanced "backflip" and "breakdance". You can Take a walk through the towen to the park, and pick up goodies or make friends and enemies along the way. People passing will shout at you for not picking up your doggies poo, see theres even a moral in there too! Once at the park, watch as your pup runs around in delight with his friends, or toss a Frisbee and watch the pups tussle over it. There is also an agilty practicing gym so you can train your puppy to preform for the agility trials. These skills include jumping through hoop, walking along a see saw and even running between tightly spaced poles! Either purchase or pick up accessories on your walks, and dress up your pup in accessories such as bows, hats, flowers, and afro wigs. Puupies look so cute in a hat! I wouldn't dare do this to my own dog though! The game can get a bit repetitive after a while, and the dog must be looked after everyday or else he will become unclean and miserable. You must also use your doggy to win money at the agilty and obdeience competitions in order to buy food and drink for the pup. the Ds also has speach recognition which can be quite fun to call your dog by its name and watch it run over. however i wouldn't advise this on a busy bus or train ;-) there is also the possibilty to connect to other Ds's in bark mode to chat to other puppies, although where i live i have never been able to find anyone online anywhere near me. Overall this game is great, the DS is used to its full with all the features the game has to offer. The game does get repetitive after a while, so not one for those that bore easily!
