      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Only for those, who like stainy eyes...

      *Introduction*
I work at a drug store and we sell many major cosmetic brands. Normally I am addicted to the cheaper budget proof brands like Catrice, NYC and Essence, but from time to time I like to try a somewhat more expensive brand. Not because I think more expensive brands are neccesarily better, but mainly because they tend to invent some new and unique cosmetic products. Max Factor introduced this Smokey Eyes eyeshadow a while ago, and because I love turquoise I decided to buy the Indigo Coloured Smokey eyes eyeshadow. One side of this pen is Turquoise, the other side has a dark purple colour to it. As you can see on the DooYoo picture, there are six varieties of this product available. I would have liked the green one as well, but they didn't sell it at my drug store.

*Max Factor, a bit of information*
Origanilly, Max Factor's last name was spelled differently, as Faktor. Max Factor was born in a Poland in the 1870s and because his parents had many children and they couldn't provide education for all of those kids, Max was send to a pharmacist when he was 8, to work there. In 1904 Max started selling his rouges and creames to the public, during the St Louis World Fair. The entire Faktor family had moved to the US by that time. Max kept developing better make-up and around 1914 he managed to introduce make up that wouldn't crackle or cake. Many major movie stars from that time went to the Max Factor make up studio becauese they loved his make up.

      *The smokey eyes effect eyeshadow*
As I wear glasses, I sometimes need a bit darker eyeshadow to make sure my green eyes look a bit more stunning. So, this smokey eyes product seemed pretty nice. When I started to apply the turuoise colour, the somewhat round tip of the pen made it easy to apply the colour thoroughly. I was happy to see that the pigmentation of the turquoise part of this pen, was good. The eyeshadow is creamy and I did use a Gosh Primer before I started applying the eyeshadow, trying to avoid ugly stains. So after applying the turquoise colour, I started to apply the purple colour. And simply said, that was hell... The colour was okay, dark and had a nice shine, but I kept making stains and just couldn't apply the darker colour decent in any way. Finally after a make up session that took me much longer than I had anticipated, I was of the opinion my eyes looked as smokey as they could get with this product. But... after only one hour, my make up was stainy, looked messy and my eyes felt irritated because the eyeshadow became a bit too liquid and slided into my eyes... No, I wasn't happy at all!

      *Final conclusion*
This product from Max Factor only get two stars, because it simply isn't working the way it should. Especially applying the purple colour was very difficult and the effect I was hoping for, took me a long, long time. I do think the idea of a pen is smart, and the tips of both sides of this smokey eyes pen are useful as they make applying the eyeshadow easier. But this is the only advantage I can think of with this product, as the eyeshadow itself just doesn't show any major quality to me....

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A lovesome lovesome scent, for ladies only!

        *Introduction*

A while ago I bought myself this Mexx Lovesome perfume at the local perfume-store. As I adore Mexx perfumes and I already have (had) most of this brands' perfumes, it was time to complete my collection with this one. Of course I love to tell you about my experiences with this perfume.!

        *General information*

        Brand; Mexx
        Type; Mexx Lovesome
Volume; 15 ml (also available in 30ml bottle)
        Price; 15 ml - 12 Pounds / 30 ml 21 Pounds

*A little bit of Lovesome information*

Mexx Lovesome was released in 2008, together with the somewhat stronger perfume Mexx Mysterious. Lovesome is the opponent of Mysterious, and both perfumes are in similar bottles and have a similar logo printed on as well as the little box the perfumes are in as on the bottles. The logo of this perfume is the drawing of a big lock, which is heart-formed. Mexx Lovesome is the light perfume (and also had a white little box around the bottle) and Mexx Mysterious is the black, more heavier perfume (and this perfume comes in a black box). Lovesome had been designed as a summery, lightweight scent, focusing on females between 16-35 years old. There is no male variation of this perfume available. Mexx Lovesome is available in s 15 and 30 ml bottle.

        *The bottle*

As I work at a drug-store that sells Mexx perfumes, I already had a good look at the Mexx Lovesome bottle before I bought this perfume myself. The bottle is small, quite long and has a bit of a feminine look (a bit curvy an sstylish looking). On the front of the bottle a heart-formed lock is printed, giving the bottle a bit of a mysterious look. The spray button is silver and the lid of the bottle is transparant. This lid generally gets lost at my place, because I hardly ever put lids back on after using my perfumes. On the front of the bottle two X X have been printed, making it clear this perfume belongs to the XX by Mexx collection (for the younger female).

        *The scent*

As I was already pretty fond of the Mysterious perfume I have had for about a year now, I was pretty curious about this lighter variety. This perfume is gresat to wesar on a warm spring or summer day, because the perfume has a nice light, but fresh, fruity scent to it. The first time I tried this perfume I noticed a nice sweet and fresh pear-scent. When I checked the ingredients, I was right, the top-note is pear. This perfume also contains blackberry, vanilla, musk and raspberry. Although I normally think blackberry and raspberry are a bit to sweet for me, in this perfume the fruits combine very well together. When I spray the perfume, I first notice the pear and some vanilla, but during the day, the blackberry is clearly there as well. This perfume doesn't cover for an entire day, so I normally spray two to three times in the morning and two times during the day, making sure I still smell fresh.

        *My final conclusion*

I adore this perfume, mainly because the pear scent it has to it is a scent that isn't too extreme. I also think the price of this perfume is okay and that this perfume will work fine for younger girls, but for 20+ girls like me as well. A nice, not too sweet but still fresh perfume from a brand that has become my favourite the past few years!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Try to get some Sensation yourself!

          *Introduction*

Working in a drug-store has some advantages. One of these advantages is, seeing new product before most consumers see it. A few months ago the store I work at was stocked with this new cleansing gel from Nivea. Of course at that time, it couldn't be sold yet but I did become curious because the bottle itself looked pretty attractive to me. Finally a few weeks back, I was allowed to buy this new Nivea product and I have been using it a lot.

          *About Nivea*

Nivea has been a top-brand for many years now when it comes to beauty products. Nivea is known for its skin-friendly, soft and mildly perfumed beauty-products. Nivea is a brand name that is owned by Beiersdorf, a leading company in skin care. For over 125 years Beiersdorf has been active on the skin care market. In 1911 Oskar Troplowitz started producing the first Nivea product. Nivea actually means "white snow" translated from Latin. Over the years Niveas had producten beauty-products like showergels, moisturising creams for skin, body and hands, scrubgels and day/night creams.

          *General information*

          Brand; Nivea
          Type; Aqua Sensation cleansing gel
          Price; 5 Pounds
          Contains; 200 ML
          For; Any skin-type

          *The bottle*

As I already said, I immediatly fell in love with the transparant light blue bottle. The bottle looks like a water bottle, but of course you can't drink this gel. On the front of the bottle the Nivea Visage logo is printed. Also, waterdrops are printed on the front of the bottle, giving this bottle an "aqua"look. The bottle is quite long and has a flat top and bottom, so when your bottle is almost empty it can be turned upside down making sure the final drops of gel are also being used. While squeezing the bottle, I noticed the bottle is made of firm material, a bit of a power-squeeze is neccessary to get some gel out.

          * The cleansing effect*

I mainly wear dark eye shadow and black eye pencil, some rouge and sometimes I do use mascara. I expect a cleansing gel to be thorough when it comes to removing all of my make up and I very much dislike the fact that a cleansing gel doesn't entirely whipe off my make-up. The first time I cleaned my face with this gel, I noticed I really didn't need to use that much of the gel itself. A little drop was more than enough to clean my entire face. When this gel comes in contact with water, it immediatly starts to foam. The gel is soft and I feel like I am taking a bubble-bath while cleaning my face with this gel. After rinsing of the gel, my skin feels very soft and relaxed. Besides that I have a very clean skin as well, no make-up left behind, making this gel the first one I've used that could really do what it promises.

          * My final conslusion*

At first I was a bit in doubt about buying this gel, I found it a bit expensive. But because of the nicely looking bottle, I decided to buy it anyway. And I am glad I did! This Nivea product really takes care of my skin, it is easy to use under the shower and you don't have to use that much of gel to reach a perfect cleaning effect. Overall, I do think I will buy this Nivea Aqua Sensation gel again, mainly because the gel really cleans my face well. And with the amounts of make-up I wear, it is a tough job doing a great cleaning job...

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Whoever thought of this mask> Thanks!

          *Introduction*

I have tried many Montagne Jeunesse masks the past years, and as I loved the chocolate mask that the brand produced, I was delighted to hear about this white chocolate mask. Once it was released in Holland, I couldn't wait to buy and try this original facial mask. Did I have a "white chocolate" experience? Read my review and you'll know....

          *About Montagne Jeunesse*

Montagne Jeunesse is a beauty-company founded in the UK, which specializes in beauty products like hair and facemasks, footscrubs and face scrubs. Montagne Jeunesse offers products which can be used for all hair and skintypes and all the Montagne Jeunesse products are recognizable because of their colorfull little sachets. Besides that, all of the products sold by this brand are not tested on animals, glutenfree and can be used by vegetarians. The brand recently started selling masks for men and has an online shop where you can browse for new innovative masks.

          *How to use this mask*

If you are familiar with Montagen Jeunesse masks (or any face mask at all) you probably know that you have to clean your face before using a mask. I normally take a good facial scrub and shower so I am sure my face is cleaned well. The bag that contains the mask is a bit slippery, so I tend to tear the bag open with my teeth. Once opened, an extremely sweet and chocolate smell enters my nose. As I already know the other chocolate mask sold by Montagne Jeunesse I was a bit prepared for such sweet smell. The mask smells like white chocolate, thats for sure! The substance itself is pretty thick and once massaging the mask onto your face it stays on. I like this because I have had masks before that dripped off of my face which I find pretty annoying. The mask can be rinsed of after about 15 minutes.

          *The effect*

After I rinsed my face my skin felt pretty fresh and has a nice sweet chocolate smell. That smell did go away after an hour which I think is okay as I wear perfume so another mix of scents isn't really neccessary. My skin did stay smooth and soft for the entire day so I did get the idea the mask had really done something good for my normally dry skin.

          *Overall opinion*

This mask has a fun-effect to it, because it has such an original smell and the packing looks funny as well. If you don't like sweet smells I wouldn't advice this mask but if you're a chocolate addict, this mask is great to try!

            Disadvantages

A Nivea cream to watch out for

            *Introduction*
As I work in a pharmacy, I regularly get samples to test from all sorts of brands. A while ago I got a Nivea Soft cream cup to test. With the cold and windy days ahead I noticed my hands and face getting dry and some moisturing was necessary. So thats when I used my sample!

            *About this product*

The sample I got contained only 1,5 ml of Nivea cream, but the original tube contains 75 ml. This product is also sold in a 200 ml round, flat, jar. The tube itself is a bit boring I have to say, not showing any spectacular colours or prints, but well Nivea is a bit of a classic brand so I guess the boring design fits this brand. The tube can be opened and closed quite easily and the opening of the tube is small, which means you will not quickly spill any cream. The cream is meant to moisture your skin. The cream contains Vitamine E, an ingredient that protects the skin and Jojoba oil, which makes the skin soft and smooth. I have to say I always love products with Jojoba oil, this ingredients really makes my skin soft. This cream isn't the regular moisturising cream, but an intensive one. Great for a really dry skin and I unfortunately have such a skin-type.

            *In use*

The cream itself doesn't have a very firm structure, which I like because I very much dislike thick creams that sre difficult to massage onto my skin. When I used this cream for the first time, I noticed that massaging the cream onto my face and hands was pretty easy. There was no white layer left on my skin (of course, you really do need to massage in this cream very well) and within 2-3 minutes the cream was absorbed by my skin. Great! Now at least I didn't have to wait for half an hour to put my make-up on. I have used creams that were too thick in the past and I have noticed I find this very annoying. I was happy to discover this cream was easily absorbed.

            *Soft skin?*

Well, Nivea promises me a moistured and soft skin when I use this product. I have to say, my skin did feel a lot softer after using this cream 2-3 times and especially my hands felt great and a bit silky as well. You do have to keep using this cream to maintain that soft effect on your skin.

            *Final conclusion*

This intensive moisturising cream does what it should do, it makes sure I have no rough and dry skin and it makes my skin look healthy and fresh. Also, the cream isn't the most expensive one for sale so I do think I might buy myself a "real" tube of this cream!

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Again Duplo does it!

            --Introduction--

My daughter received a lot of new Duplo pieces for het 2nd birthday, one of them was this box with farm-animals and a real farmer. As she has played with it a lot last week, its about time mum wrote a review about this Duplo box.

            --About DUPLO--

DUPLO is a brand name and part of the famous LEGO company. As LEGO products contain many small parts that can easily make your child sufficate, it was decided in 1969 that a new product was needed to also give younger children the oppertunity to built with the colorfull blocks. So DUPLO was introduced. DUPLO blocks are bigger than LEGO but do have the same colors which are blue, red, green, yellow and black. The bricks can be eaily clicked onto each other, and children can build whatever they want and use their imagination to the fullest. Duplo has a wide range of products besides these boxes with basic blocks. There even are Hello Kitty Duplo product for sale, as well as complete Duplo Zoo's and Duplo trainstations.

            --Some general information--

            -Brand; Duplo (by Lego)
            -Type; 5646
            -Age; 2-5 years
            -Price; 8,99 Pounds

---What's in the box---This box contains 4 Duplo animal pieces; a sheep, piglet, cat and a horse. Besides those pieces there is also a farmer added to the box. Of course just like in every Duplo box, some basic pieces can be found inside as well. In this box you'll find 2 groen pieces, a yellow one and a dark green brick. The pieces are all wrapped in little plastic bags that you can tear open quite easily. Also, a little book is inside, showing some creative ideas about what can be built with this Duplo collection.

---The collection---The farm-collection can be expanded, it is possible to buy a chicken-cage, some extra animals, an entire shed and of course a farming-truck. I guess that is what makes Duplo so much fun, the fact that you can make so many different creations once you've collected some basic bricks and basic Duplo dolls. All of the animals that can be found in this box, can be clicked onto a basic Duplo brick or building plate and it is also possible to click the farmer onto the back of the animals. Except for the cat, which I think is logical as you do not want to crash a little cute cat in real life...
The little farmer can stand straight up but a kid can also click the legs into a sitting position. In this sitting position the farmer can be used to click onto the animals' backs.

---My final opinion---As I also like to play with Duplo when my daughter is playing with it, I have had a close look on what she really likes about this farm nursery. I guess anything with animals will do as a toy for my kid, but I noticed she loves the fact the animals can be clicked onto each other (creating a major animal tower) as well as clicking the farmer on the back of the sheep (poor sheep!). The pieces are all of good quality and the animals look really detailled. I do find this box a bit high priced, but as a present it is great to get. A nice addition to you basic Duplo collection I have to say!

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Yes, this one I like!

            --Introduction--

As my daughter has celebrated her 2nd birthday recently, our place has been flooded with new toys and especially with new Duplo toys. This fire chief and his car were one of the presents she got from one of my friends. She has already played a lot with this Duplo toy, so about time I wrote a review about it!

            --About DUPLO--

DUPLO is a brand name and part of the famous LEGO company. As LEGO products contain many small parts that can easily make your child sufficate, it was decided in 1969 that a new product was needed to also give younger children the oppertunity to built with the colorfull blocks. --Some general information--

            -Brand; Duplo (by Lego)
-Type; 5603 Fire chief and car
            -Age; 2-5 years Building plate
            -Price; 5,99 Pounds

            --The box--

This Duplo toy is in a small cardboard box and on the front of the box it is clearly shown what is inside the box. When you buy this box with Duplo, you'll get a fireman, a little axe, a red car (which you do have to put together, but doing that is easy), and a Duplo brick with a drawing on it. Besides that there is also a little orange flame inside of the box. On the front of this Duplo box you can read for what ages this toy is made (1,5-5 years) althought I personally think the little axe is a bit too small for kids under two. With the risk of chewing or eating the little axe, you might want to consider to not give the axe to your child to play with untill its older. All the Duplo parts are sealed in plastic and the plastic can be torn open easily. The serie-number of the toy can also be found on the box.

            --The toy--

My daughter loves little cars an she loves Duplo, so the red Duplo car is a magical toy in her eyes. The wheels of the car can be clicked onto the car-frame easily but this does need to be done by a parent. The little fireman can be clicked into the drivers seat of the car and you can also click any other Duplo character into the drivers seat. The little flame that Duplo has added to this box can be clicked on any Duplo piece. The axe itself cannot be clicked on a regular Duplo piece but it can be clicked into the firemans' hand. The toys are all made of firm material as are all Duplo pieces/toys I have bought for my daughter in the past. This box is a small part of the entire fire-station series that Duplo has produced.

--My opinion--Although I think Duplo toys are pretty expensive, my daughter loves to get it as a present (and so does her mum, it saves me money). I like Duplo because it is made of firm material and my daughter can make all sorts of buildings or create fun situations with it. I guess this little fire chief is the start-signal for saving up for more fire-fighter toys from Duplo!

            A Montagne Jeunesse Dissapointment

**Introduction** As I love to try new facial masks, I bought myself this Crystal Mask from Montagne Jeunesse last week and tried it today. I've tried quite a lot of Montagne Jeunesse masks in the past and will now inform you about my experience with this Crystal mask.

            *About Montagne Jeunesse*
Montagne Jeunesse is a company founded in the UK, which specializes in beauty products like hair and facemasks, footscrubs and face scrubs. Montagne Jeunesse offers products which can be used for all hair and skintypes and all the Montagne Jeunesse products are recognizable because of their colorfull little sachets. Besides that, all of the products sold by this brand are not tested on animals, glutenfree and can be used by vegetarians.

*The crystal mask*So I never used this mask before, because it wasn't sold at the store I usually buy my masks from. But last week they renewed the Montagne Jeunesse assortment, giving me new testing possibilities. This mask comes in a pink cheery little sachet and made me smile because a very pink lady is printed on the front. This lady has her eyes covered with leafs and two passion flowers. The mask also has a passion flower scent. Besides that, honey was also used while creating this mask. The mask can be used by people with noraml, dry or T-zone skin. On the front of the little sachet it is printed that this mask is warm and exfoliating. The mask should smoothen my skin and soften it. Quite some promisses, so did this mask live up to my pretty high expectations?

**The use of the mask**This mask should be used when your skin is clean, dry and make-up free. While tearing open the sachet (which is easy, because a little cut on the side is made) I immediatly noticed this mask had a sweet smell. Not a honey smell, which I kind of expected, but a very strong passion flower smell that, I have to say, is a bit too much for me. I still applied the mask and was a bit surprised the mask was made of such thin substance. While I applied the mask, I noticed half of the mask sliding of my face! The mask also contains some (pretty big) crystals, that can be annoying if you have sensitive skin. These crystals are a lot bigger than regular scrub-pearls and I found them a bit too sharp as well. I wasn't cutting open my face but I was carefull massaging the mask onto my face.
So, the mask should become warm as well. It simply didn't . I guess the substance was too busy dripping on my bathroom floor....You can rinse off the mask after 10-15 minutes. This goed pretty easily but I have to say after that time, there was hardly any mask left on my face.

**In the end** I am pretty dissapointed with this fun looking mask. When I saw the bag, the mask tempted me, I like sweet smells but this one is just too much bubblegum a-like for my taste. Besides that I was annoyed by the big crystals and the mask dripping off my face before it could even "renew"my skin. So the result was bad as well. No soft skin, no smooth skin, just the same skin as before I used the mask...

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            A great basic Duplo piece

            **Introduction**

My little girl is going to become 2 in December, and her dad and I have been browsing around for some gifts. As we already had quite a lot of Basic Duplo cricks, and not that many building plates, we decides to buy one of these plates in advance, to see if our daughter would use them while building a Duplo tower.

            **About DUPLO**

            **Some general information**

            -Brand; Duplo (by Lego)
            -Type; 2304 Building plate
-Color; Green (also available in yellow and red)
            -Price; 7,50 Pounds

            **About the building plate**

First of all, I like the color of the building plate. When I was a kid myself I had these green building plates and of course red or yellow ones are for sale as well, but my daugther is fond of the colour green, so that's why we chose this colour. The plate has a size of 24 x 24 centimeters and is ideal for building small Duplo towers or one big house. In fact, you can do a lot of things with this plate. My daughter likes to click her Duplo animals on the plate, pretending the animals are eating grass. The plate is steady and has some flexibility to it, so it won't break that easily. The plate can be cleaned using a wet cloth but I noticed it can go into the dishwasher as well if necessary, although the green colour will become a bit more vague when you do that to often. The plate contains the famous Duplo pins where your kid can click the Duplo blocks onto.

            **My final conclusion**

This building plate is the type of Duplo part you just need to have if your kid is into Duplo. It is a basic piece that is sold in almost every toystore and can also be bought online quite easily. You can also start with this one piece and buy others when your kid want to make a bigger castle or tower. When it comes to quality, I have had this plate for a few weeks now and I know from friends and family these plates are of high quality and won't break quickly. Prisewise the plate isn't that cheap but well, not the most expensive one either, and you do get a good quality. So overall a unmissable Duplo piece!

Will & Sara in a story that is far from uninteresting

            *Introduction*

It had been a while since I read a Karin Slaughter book, but recently I visited the local book store and found myself a nice 10 Pound offer of this book with the title "Genesis". As I was ready for a new thrilling read I decided to buy this book. Once I started, I couldn't stop! Hope you enjoy my review!

            *Karing Slaughter*

The author of this book lives in Canada and has been a bestselling author for quite some years now. Karing Slaughter wrote 8 books in total and the first three books all were about Sara Linton (a mortician) and Police-detective Jeffrey Tolliver. Another serie of books was written as well, the so called "Grant County "series, with Will Trent (a police-officer) as the maind character. Slaughter has recently published a new book (not this one), named "Broken". Broken is the sequel of Genesis, so once you've read this book, you might want to order "Broken "as well (up to you, off course...)

            *The storyline*

With this book, Karin Slaughter starts a new series of books, named the "Atlanta"series. Genesis is the first book from this serie and the fun part is, that Will Trent and Sara Linton both are main characters in this book. Sara has fleed from her hometown after something horrible has happened to her (you can find out what this is in the "Beyond reach"book published in 2007). Will Trent is still living his Atlanta life, and is still married to Angie, who seems to not be around at the beginning of the story. As Sara is working as a doctor in the Atlanta hospital and Will is bringing in his fainted colleague Faith, the two meet briefly. Shortly after this brief meeting, a woman is brought in. This women has been abused, starved and in very bad shape. The only thing she says in the first few minutes is her name, which is "Anna". But that's all. She is fighting for her life and Sara immedialty gets involved with the woman because she is her patient. Will Trent is the police - officer who is trying to find out what has happened to the woman that was brought in. It seems something more is going on, because while he is starting to investigate, another woman goes missing.....Sara and Will try to discover the ugly truth around this awful case of missing and abused women.

            *My opinion*

Wow, I don't knwo why I've waited so long to read another Karin Slaughter book. This one is amazing, exciting, thrilling and a real page-turner! I really like the Trent & Linton combination, and the other characters in the book (Faith and Angie) are interesting as well. In the beginning of the book a lot is focussing on Sara and her past and how she deals with the things that have happened to her. But the detective - part of the book is also clearly described and because of a lot of weird situations that occur while the story develops, this book kept me going !

A great and exciting book , a real must read!

A four star Montagne Jeunesse product

              *Introduction*

As I had a beauty night with my girlfriends last night, I thought it was about time to try a Montagne Jeunesse mask that I'd never used before. I have loads of masks stashed away in my drawer and as I wanted a sweet smelling mask, I decided this Passion Flower Peel Off mask should do the job!

              *About Montagne Jeunesse*

Montagne Jeunesse is a company founded in the UK, which specializes in beauty products like hair and face masks, footscrubs and face scrubs. You might want to take a peek at their colorfull website www.montagnejeunesse.co.uk
Montagne Jeunesse offers products which can be used for all hair and skintypes and all the Montagne Jeunesse products are recognizable because of their colorfull little sachets.

              *General information about this mask*

              -Price: 0.89 Pounds
              -Skintype: For normal skin
-Scent: Passion flower and pomegrate pulp
              -Contains: 10 ml facial mask

              *How to use this mask*

First of all, you need to clean your face. So take off any make-up you're wearing, and if you have some facial scrub laying around, scrub your face as well. At least with a clean face you know the mask wil do what it has to do, which is clean your pores. Open the sachet (tear it open at the top) and squeeze the sachet so the mask will come out. You will notice the mask is reddish and a bit transparant (not purple like on the picture!) and sticky as well. Do apply the mask immediatly as it will dry pretty quick. Apply the mask on your face but don't use it on your lips or close to your eyes (it will sting if you do!). Leave the mask on for about 15 minutes. During that time, the mask will dry and after 15 minutes (sometimes 20, just check whether the mask has dried well), peel the mask of. Peeling off is pretty easy with this mask, you can peel off big parts of the mask at once. That's it!

              **The smell**

This mask has a very sweet smell. I like it, but some people will probably think it is way too sweet. It makes me think of Bubblehum sweetness. Once you've rinsed your face, you will still smell a bit of the sweetness on your skin. To me, this is proof the mask gets into your pores real well and it cleans your face.

              **The effect**

After using this mask, my skin was silky soft, so a great result I have to say. The sweet smell was a nice advantage as well and besides that I still had a smooth skin the next morning.

              *My opinion*

Why bother using expensive masks if you can simply use a Montagne Jeunesse mask for only 0.89 Pounds? I love this mask, it is easy to apply, dries quickly enough and cleans my face. A four star mask!

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

let me know what you think

Cursing is something we all do from time to time. We all use offensive speech. And when we curse we just want to scream and get our pain, anger or frustration out. We all know those moments when we want to swear, but can't because a child is near. Or we are sitting next to our work manager. And of course, we do not want to set a bad example. But why do we curse? And should we get used to cursing? What is the reason we sometimes (and some people all the time) have the urge to use words as " fuck, shit, bullocks, crap, cancer, motherfucker" and so on?

The book "why we curse" written by Dr. Timothy Jay answers some of the questions I wrote about earlier. Tourette syndrome for example, is a neurological disorder that makes people curse uncontrollably. Those with Tourette, can only suppress their uncontrolled cursing by following therapy or taking medication. Jay also writes about the fact that cursing is an essential part of language. This claim is extraordinary, seen the history of neglect of cursing in linguistics. Cursing has been avoided in linguistics for over 100 years. Mainly, because cursing isn't polite, and it is a general understanding that if you curse in speaking or writing, you are unable to use decent language. The general thought is that you weren't educated well and that your mum and dad must have been cursers themselves. And well, we all want to look like perfect and polite citizens.
In Jay's view, cursing is the revenge of the powerless against the powerful, or at least an act of desperation. "The situation of teenagers is similar to the lower working class; they have no power, and so they have nothing to lose by cursing.
Given the facts above, should we get used to cursing? Yesterday I listened to the radio, and I heard two presenters talking about the fact that we as a society tend to use the word "cancer" a lot. Not meant to point out that somebody has cancer, but as a cursing word. I was shocked to hear one of the two presenters promoting this word. He literally said (while many youngsters listened to the radio channel) " well, I don't care if people use this word. We will all use it as a common word within a few years. We just have to get used to it". I wondered how many teenagers would now think it is normal to use such word while talking to friends. I immediately turned off the radio. Although cursing is something we all do, I do think that promoting cursing tells us something about society and how it has changed in a negative way.

Raising children to become social, caring and hard working citizens is a challenging task itself. Learning them how to use their vocabulary in a good way, is a challenging task too. Promoting curse words through radio isn't challenging, it is simply stupid and doesn't add anything to society.

An area that is worth your holiday time!

                  **The Dordogne, an introduction**
The Dordogne has been one of the most popular French holiday destinations among the British. Its an area where you can enjoy beautiful nature, idyllic French villages and historic towns. Walking along the beautiful Dordogne River, you will discover the area has plenty to offer for tourists and is also easy to reach by car .

**How did the Dordogne became the Dordogne? **

The Dordogne was created during French Revolution, on March 4, 1789. The original name of the region was Perigord, but in the 18th century this name was replaced by the name Dordogne, named after the river that runs through the area. The Dordogne river is 1885 meters long and is perfect for canoeing and swimming. Along the Dordogne river are many campgrounds located.

The Perigord still exists, but is located next to the Dordogne area. You will not find any major industrial companies in the area. What you do find are picturesque old villages with quaint shops and petite restaurants. The Dordogne has four major towns, Sarlat, Perigieux, Bergerac (where an airport is located) and Nontron. Villages in the Dordogne which is also very attractive for a visit, are, Domme, (which offers a spectacular view over the Dordogne Valley) Belves, Monpazier Saint-Jean-de-Cole.

                  ***Sightseeing in the Dordogne***

In the Dordogne area, castles, caves and prehistoric sites are worth a visit. General information on these sites can of course be found on the Internet, but visiting a Tourist office, is useful, as you can find hiking routes and cycling routes there.

                  **Caves in the Dordogne **

The Dordogne has a nickname, "prehistoric area." This name comes from the many caves that were found in recent years and from the ancient wall paintings which include oxen, horses and deers drawn on the cave walls. The most famous cave in the Dordogne is known as "Lascaux", and this cave can be found just outside the village of Montignac. The cave provided shelter for prehistoric people who lived in the Dordogne a long time ago. In this cave drawings were found from about 17,000 years old. But unfortunately the many tourists who annually visited the cave, damaged the original drawings, so the cave was closed and a duplicate was opened. often close to a nice place and so is visiting a cave so easily with a visit to a city or village to combine. Throughout the Dordogne, over 25 prehistoric caves were found.

                  **Castles**

You are planning a Dordogne holiday?
Then a visit to one of the most attractive castles in the area is really worth your time. One castle that you should visit can be found near Sarlat and is named Chateaux de Beynac. This castle is situated on a high mountain, and once at the top of the mountain you have an amazing view over the Dordogne. The castle is worth a good climb. In the past, the castle also belonged to the legendary Richard Lionheart. On the other side of the hill, Chateaux Castlenaud can be found (which I think is also amazing). This castle also has a museum where many historic military weapons are displayed. Most castles ask a small entrance fee (about 4 Euro) and some are free to visit. During the months July and August, most castles are open daily. A tour through the castle is often given by a guide.

                  **Hiking**

For hikers, the Dordogne is certainly a suitable area. The Tourist Office (Office de Tourisme), that you find in every city, provides interesting hiking routes. The trails run through the beautiful forests, hills and open areas of the Dordogne. But, do be careful hiking upon a "private area" The French people typically find it uncomfortable if you walk on their property, and it is therefore it is not advisable to walk on their property (unless you want a mad French men following you) Most hiking routes run through very small villages where little bars or restaurants can be found. Do visit these little bars, because they are never that expensive and have real French pancakes (crepes) that you should have tried if you visit the Dordogne.

                  Finally

The Dordogne with its lovely scenery, nice temperatures, beautiful rivers and large amount of picturesque villages, is an ideal holiday area. If you are not that much into mass-tourism, but you do love to visit prehistoric villages and take a swim in the Dordogne river, I would advice you to book a Dordogne holiday!

                    Disadvantages

A cheap and cool Bontempi instrument

                    **Introduction**

Writing for Dooyoo has paid off! I redeemed my first 20 Pounds voucher last week and ordered some toys for my daughter. When I was browsing Amazon.co.uk I found this cool looking Melody Sax. I loved the red colour immediately and because it was very cheap as well, decided to order this Bontempi toy. I received the Sax a few days ago and my daughter is crazy about (so is my husband!)

                    **General information**

                    Price; 5,50 Pounds
                    Brand: Bontempi
                    Age; 12 months and up
                    Number of songs; 8
                    Batteries included; Yes (2x R6/AA 1,5 V.)
                    Colors; Light blue and red
                    Weight; 241 grams
                    Size; 120 x 72 x 184 mm

                    **How does this toy work?**

The toy was delivered with batteries included and in a red cardboard box. The sax can be taken out of its packing easily. 5 coloured buttons can be found at the front of the toy. The first 3 buttons (dark blue, yellow, green) can be pressed and when doing this they will each give a different sound.
The purple button on the toy has the text "demo" next to it. If you press this button you will hear an example of the song you have selected. Selecting one of the eight songs can be done by clicking the small yellow button with the text "select" next to it. Simply said, press the "yellow" select button, then press the purple button to hear what song you've selected and press one of the three top buttons to hear the song play.

If you select "this old man", one of the eight songs, and click the blue button, you will hear the first tone of this song. Click another one of the three top buttons, and the next tone of the song will play. So it looks like you are playing the entire song yourself, choosing the right tones, but in fact you don't, the music is programmed for you.

At the exit of the sax (where on a normal sax, the opening can be found) a little rattler is created so when moving around the sax, a rattling sound is made as well. A nice extra I have to say. The music is also coming from the exit part of the sax.

                    I couldn't recognize all the songs programmed, but these ones I did know;

                    **This old man
                    ** Happy birthday to you
** Mary has a little lamb
** Frere Jacques (I know it is the French title, just don't know the English one)

The songs are all easy to listen to and familiar as they are old children songs you and I have listened to when we were young.

                    **My opinion**
The toy is cheap, and I didn't expect that much of it. The toy is made of plastic and not too firm, but good enough to play with without breaking immediately. Besides that, the sounds it makes are funny, and the 8 songs programmed in the toy are nice and easy to sing along. I also love the colourful look of the toy and the design of the buttons (they have a star, a square, a triangle and striped printed on them). The part where the rattles can be found is a welcome extra as well, the little parts that make the sax rattle when you shake it, have the form of music notes.

                      A creative bargain

                      **Introduction**

As my daughter has reached the age of 19 months recently, at her daycare she is doing a lot of drawing nowadays. I am pretty sure she will become the next Picasso. I've noticed she is really fond of drawing so last week I bought some pencils, colouring books and a chalkboard with these white chalks. Today she got her presents and she immediately started to use the chalk on her chalkboard. Hope you like my review!

                      **About Crayola**

Crayola is a brand of artistry supplies. The company was founded in 1885, but at that time was named Binney and Smith. The company was best known for its crayons. Originally the company was an industrial pigment supply company but after a while it started to focus on art products that could be used at home and on schools. The famous white chalk was one of the first products sold to schools and households. Later on the assortment was expanded with product such as colored pencils, paint in all sorts of colors, modeling clay and markers. The Crayola products are known for their non-toxic and safe use for children. Crayola is known among 99% of British households. The Crayola products are sold in over 80 countries worldwide.

                      **About Crayola chalk**

These famous white chalk crayons can be bought at nearly any office supply store, toy store, warehouse and book store. They are cheap, and will only cost you £0.79 which I think is a bargain. There are 12 crayons in a box, the cardboard box isn't too steady, but I guess the best way to avoid broken crayons is to put them in another box, one that is steadier. I like the fact there are 12 chalk crayons in a box. Everybody with a creative toddler running around, probably knows these crayons get lost, thrown in the bin while they shouldn't be in there, get eaten or just break because they fall on the floor. With an amount of 12 crayons, it is easy to replace a broken one.

Something I also like about these chalk crayons, is the fact that when my daughter accidentally draws on her clothes or on me (which seems to happen quite a lot "accidentally", the chalk can be removed easily. You just need to wet a cloth and the chalk stain can be wiped away. The chalk is dust free, so when it is used to draw on the chalk board, you don't need to hover the entire room because there isn't any dust coming from these crayons. I have been teaching for quite some years and the chalk I used always was very dusty, so these Crayola chalks are a lot better.

                      **My opinion**

Cheap chalk crayons, easy to use, no dust problems when using these and besides that, for sale at almost any store that sells office supplies or art-supplies. Sure, these chalk crayons will break when they fall on the hard kitchen floor, but I guess for 0.79 P that shouldn't be much of a problem.
