I've been a big fan of Soap & Glory for a long time now and this has to be my favourite product. Retailing at £5.50 for 500ml it's quite cheap considering it lasts along time. The product itself is a clarifying shower gel and I does do it's job well it was even recently voted Best Shower Gel by the Compant Beauty Award 2012.
The product comes in a very cute large bottle which looks lovely in the shower. Soap & Glory's packaging is actually what initially attracted me to their products. When i first used this I was in love with the smell. All of the Soap & Glory products smell absolutely amazing and it even lasts on your skin after the shower. You only need a small amount when using this to lather up the entire body. The formula is very thick and creamy which is great After using this my body always feels very clean, refreshed and not to mention soft. The actual amount of product lasts ages and you don't use a lot in the shower as it little goes a long way.
Overall this is n A+ product and deserves a place in every woman's shower.
I have been a long term sufferer of greasy hair and until now I've never been able to find that 'holy grail' shampoo to combat it. This all ended when I spotted Fresh Balance on the shelves.
At around £3 for 400ml it's very cheap as I expected coming from Herbal Essences. However don't mistake that the price will impact it's quality. The shampoo comes in a cool lime green curved bottle that opens at the top. When I got into the shower and first used it I had to use a bit more that usual to get that soapy lather but that doesn't really bother me. One thing that did disappoint me a little bit was the fact shampoo had no particular smell and I normally like my shampoo's to have a lovely scent that my hair will take to. Usually with other shampoo's I would have to wash my hair the next day or the grease would show. But with Fresh Balance I could wait 2 days before it would start to look greasy. My hair looked and smelt extremely 'fresh'. That was a massive achievement for me and my hair. I was amazed at how well it cleaned my hair. After years of trying shampoo after shampoo I had finally found my perfect product.
I bought this blackberry 6 months ago as i'd always wanted a blackberry curve having previously bought a bold for personal use. The design itself was my favourite of all the blackberry's with its thin design and large screen. As a first time blackberry user I must say my expectation were quite high and I did end up being disappointed.
First of all the keys are far too small for me to be able to type without using just my pinky finger which made it pretty much impossible to use with ease.. Second the battery life is extremely poor I can barely get through a day without having to charge my phone. Even with the ever popular BBM ( blackberry messenger ) I found that I would constantly be having technical issues with it and so I ended up just getting rid of it all together. Whenever a friend would try to add me on BBM it would never come through and just say pending. Sometimes BBM wouldn't even allow me to send messages and after countless phone calls to try and fix this I ended up just getting rid of it as it was causing me so much hassle at £5 extra a month. The camera which was absolutely terrible had 5 megapixels but in my opinion it should have been even lower. I also found when calling people on my phone I would hardly get signal but when I did I have to admit I have a good experience with the call features as you can put people on speaker or on hold which came in handy.
The only really good thing I can think of is that blackberry offers the use of apps similar to an iPhone. Some of these included: Facebook, twitter, msn and games like hangman etc... But that alone could never outweigh the cons of this phone. I think the hype of blackberry made me think they were so amazing and on another level to other phones when really they just look nice and that's it.
I am always on the lookout for something to cure my dry skin and I think I've finally found it. Retailing at £29.50 for 125ml for some it may seem expensive but trust me its worth it. The lotion is part of the three step skin care system at Clinique but you can just by the moisturizer on it's own which is what I did.
When applying you only need a small blob to fully moisturize your face which means the lotion lasts quite a long time. My favourite thing about this is that its super hydrating without be greasy on my face. It absorbs almost instantly from application.
The lotion is recommended for those with very dry to dry skin which is me and I must say it has made a great change to the texture of my skin. Gone is the tight flaky skin to reveal soft and supple skin. The bottle comes with a pump which makes getting the right amount much easier. I definitely recommended you buy the lotion with the pump as otherwise you always end pouring out way too much lotion then needed.
Overall it's a great product which I can see myself fully coming back to over the years and I would recommend it to others as well.
I've had my blackberry bold for about a year now and to be contrary to popular opinion I do not like it. Blackberry's are known to be work phones however I bought this mainly for personal use and i just seemed to get constantly frustrated with the phone.
- First off the phone's roller ball is extremely annoying, it seems to constantly get stuck and I seem to spend hours trying to free the ball from the position.
- In my opinion I think the phone is too big it barely fits in my pocket.
- The camera quality is terrible but so our most blackberry camera's however the phone comes with a flash which seems to be very useful.
- The battery life is very bad I find myself having to constantly charge my phone.
- I find that occasionally the phone just freezes and I have to take the battery out for it to restart and many of my friends with the same phone seem to have the same problem.
- The design of the phone is very sleek and professional looking.
- Good for work purposes, it is extremely easy to send documents and emails quickly.
- BBM or blackberry messenger as it's known is a great feature to the phone and makes easy and cheaper to communicate with those who have a blackberry
-- The layout of the phone is well set out and everything is easy to access.
- Their are many different applications ranging from games such as word mole to facebook to the ever handy calculator.
Although their are quite a few pro's as well as cons I find that the cons seem to just weight out all the pro's.
Primers are generally used under the application of foundation. They are meant to prolong the wear of foundation and create a smooth base to start with. This in particular primer comes from Mac's Prep & Prime Range.
The Primer retails from 18.50 from the Mac websites and Selfridge's. I would not recommend buying a cheaper version off bidding website's as these are most likely fake and could cause damage to the skin. The price at fist seems pricey but it is worth it and it lasts a long time.
The product comes in a sleek black cylinder container with a pump. The container comes with 30ml worth of product. The one annoying thing about the pump is that sometimes you can pump out too much product meaning unnecessary waste. But that's something I can overlook. The great thing about Mac is there Back to Mac programme. Meaning if you return 6 Mac containers of some sort you receive a free lipstick worth 13.50.
The product is a white lotion formulated with special effect silicones. When first applied only a small amount is needed to cover the entire face. From the first application you can almost immediately feel the difference. The product blends in like a dream and my skin is noticeably softer which makes the application of foundation a lot easier. The primer creates a fantastic base for foundation. It helps the foundation blend better and overall create a more flawless look. I also find that when wearing this my foundation lasts a lot longer than without and it also stops it from looking cakey.
Overall this product is fantastic and really is a necessity in a girl's make up bag. Definitely a holy grail product.
I recently purchased this at the mac counter in Selfridge's after being recommended it by a friend and all I can say is that I'm seriously in love with it
This foundations retails for 19.50 pounds for 30ml. 30ml is typically the amount you get with most foundations. For a high end product it's an ok price but for the like's of me it's rather expensive. That being said I definitely think the results make up for hefty price tag.
One thing I love about MAC is the shade range. So no matter what you're skin tone there is a shade for you. There are 33 different shades ranging from super pale skin tones to super dark skin tones.
The foundation is a liquid so it applies on to my skin very smooth and is easily blendable. However I still think a primer is necessary for a more even application. What I love about this foundation is it's buildable you can apply a thin layer for those days when you don't feel like wearing much make-up or you can apply more than 1 layer for completely flawless skin. It's up to you
The coverage of this foundation is full coverage. It covers pretty much all of my imperfections and really evens out my skin tone and makes it seem as if I have a flawless complexion. Who doesn't want that??
It also doesn't cake so it's doesn't even look have you have any make-up on.
The finish of this foundation is semi-matte. It doesn't leave your face feeling greasy yet it still gives you that healthy glow that everyone wants. Even if you have oily skin it still works as it's oil free. It also lasts all day and you don't even need to touch up throughout the day as long as you set with powder anyway. As well as all that it has SPF 15 which just makes it even better.
Overall I love this foundation and it is definitely one of my favourites. I would recommend this to anyone no matter what your skin type is.
This is one of my favorite Yankee Candles! It smells incredible. It's nice and sweet and really does smell like a vanilla cupcake. It's not overpowering, yet you can smell it. Perfect! It smells so good I kind of want to eat it. This is in my opinion the purest, most straight vanilla scent to come from Yankee Candle. It's really light and super sweet. Great for the bedroom or anywhere in the house to be honest.
From when I first burned it I could immediately smell my room fill up with scent of vanilla cake batter as well as creamy vanilla frosting. I felt like I was in a cupcake shop. The smell is sweet but it doesn't get sickly the balance between the two is perfect. People say it's similar to 'Buttercream' but i personally prefer this one. It also last quite a long time considering I burn mine pretty much most days pf the week. A lot of people say these candle's are expensive and whilst I have to agree I still always think they're worth it even if it is just a candle. It's just makes my room feel so much more cosy and warm. I really couldn't live without this candle.
In the winter I have super dry skin so I'm always on the look out for miracle products. This definitely is one. Retailing for about 30 pounds from Boots this may seem super expensive form 50ml worth of cream but the high quality ingredients and results make up for the price. Coming in a blue pot this means it you can be sure of not wasting or leaving any product left at the bottom.
The cream itself is very rich but this is good as it means more moisture will be absorbed to the skin for better results. From first application I could immediately tell that my skin was much more hydrated and it left my skin feeling soft and supple. After about a week of use ever morning and evening I could see that my skin was glowing with hydration - no more flaky skin for me! I now feel as if my skin is finally getting the moisture it needs. However this being said I do not recommend this to those with oily skin as it will just make your skin even more greasier. But from dry to normal skin this is great. My only critiscm is how long it lasts. The 50ml pot only lasts about 2 months however I still continue to use it because of the results it's give.
Overall I highly recommend this to anyone with dry skin or even just someone looking for a bit more hydration in their skin. This cream will be your life saver.
Being an avid user of Maybelline I was excited to try this out. For 8.49 from Boots I thought this was an ok price compared to there other mascaras which are usually around that price. As well as the mascara itself there is also a waterproof version however I opted for non-waterproof. One thing I love about this mascara is the packaging it, it comes in a super cute bright pink tube with blue writing. This was what originally caught my eye whilst I was browsing in Boots.
The brush itself is quite big and very oval shaped which I knew would be good for volumising. The mascara claims capture, coat and clean lashes. This is exactly what it did. I myself have super short lashes but using this mascara made them super long and voluminous. It also lasts throughout the whole day which I love love love. From then on I was hooked. Obviously it didn't give the same effect as fake lashes but it is sure pretty close. My lashes look so much better when I've used this and it has definitely become one of my holy grail products. In terms of lasting time this does not apply to me as I throw out my mascara every three months to save it from drying out.
Overall it is a great buy and I for sure recommend.
This is my favourite eye palette to date. I bought it from Debenhams for 35 pounds which included the 12 eye shadows which are 1.3g each, a mini Urban Decay Primer Potion and a Urban Decay Eye Shadow Brush so you definitely get your moneys worth. First of all the packaging of this is great it comes in a sleek designed velvet like thin rectangular box. Inside there is a mirror so you can apply the eye shadows on the go.
My favourite thing about this palette is the versatility. They are mainly neutral shades so you can take your look from day to night using the different colours. These range from a shimmery white highlight colour 'Virgin' to a dark glittery black 'Creep'. In the palette there are two matte shades -'Naked & Buck' whilst the rest are shimmer shades. I think this perhaps is the only downfall. I felt it would have been better with some more matte shades. In terms of pigmentation the colour's are amazing they are so visible and the colour pay off is just to die for. One thing I love with this palette is that you can layer the different shadows on your eye depending on what look you're going for.
I've had my palette for 6 months now and still looks as if I just bought it. Also the brush that comes with it is actually really high quality and so is great for applying the shadows to my lid.
Overall I love this palette and highly recommend it to anyone.
After hearing so many raving reviews about Nars blushes I finally decided to pick one up online. Nars itself is a highly renowned make-up brand so I was sure from purchase what i was getting would be high quality. The blushes come in 24 different shades so it doesn't matter what your skin tone is you'll be able to find the perfect shade. Whether it's a in your face hot pink or a subtle peach. Pretty much all of there shades have shimmer in them but I feel this actually enhances the look. The shade I picked out is called 'Deep Throat' which is a peach pink with shimmer, this is similar to the colour 'Orgasm' except it's less intense.
First of all the blush comes in a neat small compact which has a handy mirror inside. I loved this as it made touch ups throughout the day so much easier. You get 4.8g worth of product and this so far has lasted me 4 months and I can't even see the panel yet. The best thing about this blush is that it is SO pigmented. The colour clearly shows up and you only need one swipe with a blusher brush. Having tried out the other Nars blushes they all are very pigmented so it doesn't matter what shade you get. I apply the blush to the apple's of my cheeks and honestly it make my face look so much more healthy and glowy. It really does make a washed out face look amazing.
The Nars blushes cost 20.50 pounds each and I know this may sound super expensive but trust me they are worth it. They will last longer and frankly look so much better than any other blush out there in my opinion. If you're someone who loves blush or just make-up in general then I highly recommend this product.
The most popular luxury highlighter on the market, Yves Saint Laurent's Touche Eclat is a beauty editor and user favorite but at £24.50 from Boots it's a hefty price tag for most. Touch eclat is a a highlighter and eye brightener - many think it's a concealer but it's not. Originally available in only 3 shades YSL has recently re-released the pen brush in 7 different shades. No matter what your complexion there's one for you.
Coming in a beautifully designed gold shaped pen it works by clicking the top where the product comes out onto the brush. It's used to add a radiant touch of light or banish shadows and signs of fatigue from the eye area, the hollow of the chin, the contour of the lips and the sides of the nose. When i first applied it in these places you could see my face looked so much more luminous and radiant. My under eye shadows were gone and my face looked so much better than before.
It doesn't cake at all as it's an incredibly creamy and moisturizing. You can hardly notice the product's even on it's that weightless.
I really does what it says on the label. It's something every girl needs. I highly recommend this to every woman out there. It really is a beauty must have!
Generally i really like TOMS in terms of looks. They are super simple yet chic and look great with most outfits. They are super practical and can be worn in and out of the house. There are hundred of colours and patterns and colours to choose from. The shoe itself is iconic.
They are quite expensive at 40 pounds however for every shoe you buy of TOMS they donate a pair of shoes to the youth in many 3rd world countries like Africa.
TOMS in my opinion are the most comfortable shoes out there yet they still are fashionable. The basic canvas slippers look great with most outfits. They are lightweight and super easy to slip on and off.
The shoes themselves come in a massive array of colours and patterns ranging from silver sequins to a simple black. Although they are great shoes they don't last very long and can be easily damaged within monhts even. Overall they are great shoes but I don't think they are worth the high price tag.
Dr Martens are undoubtedly an iconic shoe. They've been around for years and years - 50 years to be exact. If bought from the website they can cost around 80 to 90 pounds however if you just search the stores in you local area you can get them a lot cheaper. I found mine for £69 at Reef. The shoe itself is available it lots of different colours like black, red, pink and many others. You can also get them in colours that have a shiny leather effect as seen above.
The shoe itself is made 100% of leather. When first tried on they are very uncomfortable and the shoe doesn't really allow for movement of the feet. However after the first wears the shoe adjusts to your foot shape and turn out to be very comfortable. The boots look great with pretty much everything I wear. The shoe's are very sturdy and can withstand many harsh weather conditions such as snow, ice or mud. I didn't slip once even when running.
They may be quite expensive but the quality makes up for that. These shoes will last you years and years. I highly recommend them to anyone who's looking for a study shoe that still looks good with pretty much all types of clothing.
