I, like many of you, will have grown up watching the likes of Roger Black, Iwan Thomas, Mark Richardson, Jamie Baulch, Jonathan Edwards, Sally Gunnell, Linford Christie and Colin Jackson fly the flag for Britain. We just don't have those kind of athletes right now, Jess Ennis is literally all on her own (save for Philips Idowu, but he won't win next year) as a gold hope next year! Way too much pressure on her shoulders already, and if she falls short it'll be us to blame, not her.
In this Country mediocrity is all too often rewarded, Wayne Bridge get's paid over £100,000 a week to get shipped out on loan from Man City to West Ham, Jeeesus!!! Yet someone like Martyn Rooney (400 runner), who has masses of ability and is a heck of a lot fitter and talented than Wayne Bridge will be very lucky to earn that in a whole year, maybe even 2 years. Rooney at the last Olympics came 6th in the final! Is Wayne Bridge the 6th best footballer in the world? is he buggery! He's probably not even the 6th best footballer in his Street!
I know its not Bridgey's fault the amount he gets paid, but you'd think a tad of common sense would prevail!
I'm a realist and I know the world won't change overnight, but let's get a bit more money poured into some other Sports than football for a change. All football seems to be doing lately is turning normal sane people into raging lunatics, even if their team wins!
rant over :)
Released back in 2006, the Wii was a curious novelty to begin with but that initial curiosity quickly changed into the biggest selling console of the decade. Outselling it's rivals at Microsoft (xbox/360) and Sony (playstation 3) by huge margins, at one stage beating them both put together!
It is very easy to see why.
The Wii is the first of the first generation of consoles to incorporate wireless technology and body movement into it's method of control, it is also the best at it.
Nintendo always innovate better than their rivals and create far superior gameplay functionality as a result. They put themselves in the seat of the gamer(s) and ask "what would I like from a console or game?". This mantra, in my opinion, gives them a huge edge over their rivals and makes them by far the best creators of gaming entertainment in the world.
Sony and Microsoft have only just caught up with Nintendo's 5 year old wireless technology such was the foresight by the developers at Nintendo. It is this genius that keeps them one step ahead all the time!
I am a Nintendo customer and have been for god knows how many years, always buying their console over their rival's and playing their games more than others. I can't see that changing for the foreseeable future as they just make such good stuff.
What I think Nintendo will do with the Wii's successor is upgrade the graphics to 1080p HD, advance the controls a touch, and that console too will outsell their rivals 2 to 1 'cause they are so far ahead of the game.
Also, you never see a Wii with the red ring of death, do you?!!
As a man I shave, fact! And this fact brings with it hideous amounts of research, testing and paying for stuff to put on yer face before the big kick off. I have tried the rest and now I'm using the best. When I first got this stuff out of the can and lathered it up it smelled so good I wanted to eat it! Yes yes I know what you're thinking... ok I tried some and it didn't taste as good as i thought it should have, but I digress from the point :P
The combination of tea tree and mint calms and soothes your face and makes shaving almost chore free. After using this stuff my skin always feels really fresh, smooth and looks great too.
As a man with sensitive skin I'd highly recommend this product to anybody who'll listen. Nivea/gillette may be the brand leaders, but this stuff beats the crap out of them!
My other half thinks that Green and Blacks make the best cocoa based products in the universe and that this stuff is "too sweet", she's wrong, and here's why:
Cadbury are master chocolatiers, and although most of the stuff is made in Poland now, the taste is divine!
It's light, creamy and great to have at anytime of day.
I for one will be having a Cadbury's Caramel easter egg for my breakfast on easter Sunday, it's the law!!
Another reason to buy this is that it's instantly recognisable and, should you find yourself lonely and friendless, whip one of these out and the hordes will flock unto thee!
Also these bars are well cheap and awesome value for the money. In times of austerity and cuts, one thing remains the same, Cadbury's make great treats!
Why are you even reading this review, go and buy one now you know you want to!
After calling the customer services department several times I feel qualified to comment on what can only be descibed as the WORST, MOST ABYSMAL customer service it's ever been my misfortune to witness or be in receipt of.
It is abundantly clear the the right hand of O2 does not know what it's left hand is doing, and vice versa!
Needless to say at some point they'll both be counting billions of pounds and doing a lot of rubbing, however they have no right to!
When I say clowns, imagine a drunk, overweight, co-ordinationally challenged, hideous disappointment of a clown turning up after you assume you've booked "the best clown in town".
What narks me the most is that no matter which Customer Service DRONE you speak to, they all give out different information. I changed a bolt on on my account, got a huge bill I shouldn't have, rang up and they said "oh the bolt on you changed hasn't been changed properly", "i'll do that for you now". Damn bloody right you'll do it now you useless cretin, and you'll give me a refund aswell!
I rang up to upgrade only to be told I couldn't, when their own website was letting me process one myself! Cue literally tens of phonecalls to them saying the same thing over and over again, "look, I can upgrade, your website says I can", only to be met by "sorry sir" and then "oh actually sir yes, yes you can upgrade", only to be met by "sorry sir, you can't", then "oh yes, it appears you can sir". One feckless Eastern European operator wouldn't even attempt to process an upgrade for me, so I asked to be put through to a manager!
Now, one thing you need to remember when talking to a manager at O2 is that these are the worst human beings on the planet, they are desperate to claim the high ground and not give an inch. So feel free to treat them like dog crap! hell, if they want to be money grabbing scumbags for a faceless multi-national, it goes with the job.
Complain, complain, complain! and if that doesn't get you anywhere, get your PAC code like I did and ask for the address to send a formal letter of complaint to!
2 weeks passes and you get a letter of apology. After explaining which various sub-sections of the law relating to customer rights they've broken, they're only too happy to give you a nice account credit and admit they're wrong!
Another thing to note is that after much probing I found out that O2 has at least 6 customer service telephone departments scattered around the north of England, and they're all morons that work in them (apparently). So no wonder they can't EVER give you a straight answer or even behave in a decent helpful manner. Shocking!
Not possible to give no stars (even though at home I get no bars) haha! That's Jokewang!
Whilst technically not stopping you from downloading as much as you want, Virgin Media's Fibre Optic broadband service will NOT make it easy for you to do this if you download a certain amount of data between the hours of 9am and 3pm and 4pm to 9pm. So, basically, all day then!!
What Virgin say is that over a 10mbps connection, if you download 1.5GB of data between 9am and 3pm, or 3GB of data between 4pm to 9pm (their so-called peak times) they'll apply "traffic Management" to your line.
This translates as a drip feeding of bandwith equivalent to a 75% reduction in line speed, massive latency and huge ping/packet loss statistics. Basically a hideously slower connection and a more unstable one to boot. And get this, this traffic management lasts for 5 HOURS!! regardless of whether you've exceeded their "fair usage" 1 minute into the timezone or 1 minute before the timezone ends.
If you are a file sharer/gamer or even a casual BBC Iplayer viewer this is Internet Death of the worst kind!
Here's a few basic stats - Average BBC Iplayer file size (750MB-1GB, standard resolution) HD (2.5GB+), and bare in mind these shows run from 30mins to 1hr30 usually, so it'll take next to no time to hit their stupid limits and cut your speed and line stability for 5hrs.
I have vociferously complained to them that this is uncompetitive, and also exceptionally unfair given that their 50MB line customers get no traffic management applied to them at any time, regardless of how much they use. In my opinion Virgin uses the lower price payers as subsidisers for their higher priced customers. I don't believe their network can sustain the speeds and traffic on it, therefore they deliberately offer a cheap tariff to customers knowing that they can at anytime give them a useless service in order to supply higher rate payers with a solid one.
Booooooooooooo! If I could give them 0 stars I would!
Having tried many products over the years and finding that almost all of them dry out my skin (which is dry by default), I was delighted to find these litle gems. The Exfoliating wash is really excellent and almost feels a bit like a face mask, it cleanses very well and leaves you feeling refreshed.
It is very mild at the same time as being very good at scaling and polishing your face and leaves your skin feeling quite supple and not anywhere near as dry as many other similar products would. The price is very reasonable and avon do 2for1 offers all the time online, so grab yourself a couple i say!
Only one note of warning is that Avon seem to take an age to deliver, although when i rang and chased my order they sent out a replacement, 2 days later I had twice as many products and had only paid for one set, which save for the wait was a big win win!
All in all i'd defnitely, absolutely, muchly give this a really big thumbs upWANG!
