My little nephew often hates brush his teeth so I brought this so that when he is staying with me, brushing his teeth is an adventure! The brush has a large picture of spider man ( His favorite action hero) on it and has a spinning head to make brushing his teeth more effective.
Half of the brush spins and the other half is stationary. This make the cleaning of the teeth more effective because in the period the brush is going over the teeth quicker. The rotation is slower than adult electric brushes so that soft gums are not damaged and the bristles are also softer for soft new teeth and gums. The only problem with the bristles being softer than normal is that they start to bend outwards after a few weeks but this does not seem to affect brushing effectiveness.
The brush is quite hard wearing. None of the plastic has worn down from teeth and the battery's have never been damaged by water. If something did go wrong with the head though, I would not be able to replace it which is annoying! Also, none of the pictures of spider man have worn off or become scratched.
Overall, the brush is very fun for the kids but the heads are not replaceable. This is not a problem for me as I look after my nephew only a few times a month but for a parent I can see the brush wearing out quickly. But overall it is a good brush.
The Logitech Wireless Mouse M180 is a great basic mouse. It does the job with no thrills. It works without an easily broken track ball and uses a red light instead to work out where it is being moved. The mouse is wireless which is great as there is no wires to get tangled up with and your movements are limited less. To use the wireless you simply plug the tiny dongle into a USB port on your laptop or computer and off you go! There is no set up. It is a quick process. The wire less has a good range. About 3 meters which is more than enough for most people!
The mouse has three buttons. The left button which is the main one. It is you every day button which does the job you want it to. There is then the far right button. This button is on nearly all mouses. There is then the middle button. This button is for scrolling on web pages and other things. Unfortunately, on my Logitech Wireless Mouse M180, the scroll roller broke. I think that dust clogged it up and there is no way of fixing it. This is such a shame because I used it a lot.
Overall, a good everyday mouse but it is sad that the roller can be easily broken
Lynx have been dominating the deodorant market for years and when they bring out stuff like this it is easy to see why! The lynx rise has a uplifting citrus smell which I find is perfect for the mornings. (Probably why its called rise!) The smell lasts for about 10 hours depending on the weather and other factors. The smell is not overpowering when first put on and does not fade towards the middle / end of the day.
The can is easy to use. You simply hold it, twist the safety cap and spray on to where ever on your body. The safety cap is very useful as if the can is in a bag or suitcase it cannot leak. It also stops young children spraying it into their eyes or mouth. The recommended areas to spray the deodorant onto are the arm pits and chest. The graphics on the can are very eye catching and fresh as well.
The can lasts a reasonable amount of time. I used mine every morning on both armpits for nearly one month. Much better than other deodorants that seem to have a large can and run out after a week!
Overall, a great deodorant. It smells great, it lasts most of the day and although it does not stop you from sweating, it does disguise the smell. A great product for just £2.50!
The Upfront Flipper Cricket Incrediball is basically a soft plastic cricket ball designed to handle the same as a regular cricket ball but does not hurt as much if it hits you. It also has two sections that are different colours. This is to see which way the ball is spinning.
I got this ball at the end of the season to use whilst in the nets in the winter so I could get used to spin and swing. It cost £5 and comes in two sizes. Child and Adult. The child model is just the same but lighter and smaller for smaller hands.
The ball swings and spins much more than a normal ball. It swings more because of the highly polished sides. These let the air easily flow over the sides, meaning more swing. The seam is also larger than on a normal ball and this makes it spin more. It is very useful for bowlers in this aspect. It is also useful for batsmen. The coloured sides make it much easier to see which way it is spinning and the bright colours make it easy to follow.
The ball is very hard wearing as well. It does not split or get misshaped after hard hits and is hard to scratch. This makes it a good buy as it lasts.
Overall, a great buy for £5!
Vans are my Favorite shoe brands and I have had many different pairs over the years. These are not my favorite but still one of the best that I have owned. They come in a number of different colours and mine cost £55 but this might of changed now.
They are a high top shoes which has its good and bad points. The good is that they are very comfortable, give ankle support and protect your ankles but the bad points are that your feet boil in the summer and they do not look the best in the summer with shorts in my opinion. They are a definite winter shoe for me.
They were designed to be skateboarding shoes although many people who have never skated wear them. This is a plus for everyone as the people who skateboard get a hard wearing shoe that is not going to break on them and protects your ankles as you skateboard and for people who do not skateboard get a extremaly hard wearing shoe which looks great.
Overall, these shoes are very good. They are comfortable, hard wearing and they look good. I would recommend them to someone as a winter shoe but not as a summer shoe.
Independent made the first ever production skate board trucks so as you can imagine, they one of the best truck company's out there! I normally love Independent trucks but I am not sure of what to think of these. I was in my local skate store and I picked them up. They felt extremaly light which is always a plus but after a few weeks of heavy use, I started to notice that they were extremaly worn down and were getting to the point that I couldn't use them any more. I was very disappointed but the few weeks that I got to use them was great.
The turning that they give is outstanding. They were ultra responsive when you need them to be, but very stable when you want them to be. Very good. The grinding was extremaly smooth which is due to the trucks metal being so soft. I thought that they would be durable when I got them as I have had independents before which were extremaly durable. I guess that they are not all the same!
Overall they were good trucks for their short life but they soon wear out and become useless. I would only recommend them if you are willing to get another pair a month later!
The most common place for a skateboard to break is the area where the trucks are screwed onto the skateboard. This is because all of the pressure from a drop, is going onto one small area of the skateboard. Almost want to change that! The double impact skateboard deck series is a series of skateboard that have carbon discs around this area. They also have a full carbon top sheet for extra power and protection.
I was looking at a skateboarding shops website and I came across these. As I had just recently broken my skateboard in the truck area, I decided to get one. It cost £59.99 at the time. This is still the same. I think that it is an extremaly reasonable price seeing as it lasts about twice as long as your regular deck and is also extremaly light!
When I was first unpacking the deck, I started to think that it might be some sort of gimmick but I soon changed my mind as soon as I started to ride it! It rode beautifully. It had a mellow concave and a regularly steep tail. It suited me perfectly! When I was unpacking I also noticed a guarantee. It is a 45 day guarantee that covers all damage to the carbon disc area. It does not cover any other damage which is understandable.
The board lasted me for about 4 month which for me is a long time as I skateboard at least 3 times a week. The way it eventually passed away was I did a trick, slipped of the back and the board rolled away into the road. It was snapped clean in two. I am pretty sure that if this didn't happen, it would of lasted a few more months are the pop was still great and there was no cracks or chips any where.
Overall, I would recommend this skateboard deck to anyone. Well worth the little bit extra cash.
Grip tape is basically sand paper that is put onto a skateboard. Grip tape on skateboards make sure that your feet don't slip off the skateboard whilst doing tricks. It is an extremaly important piece of equipment for a skateboard. Grip tape some times comes already put onto the skateboard. Some times it can be brought by itself and put on.
Fracture are a budget skateboarding company so when I brought this grip tape I was expecting it to be bad quality and I was also expecting it to lose its gripping power after a few weeks. How wrong was I! The grip tape was superb! It cost £4.99 for one skateboards worth.
It came in a roll like in the picture. It was easy to put on and I had no problems. It felt thick and good quality in my hands. After it was put on , it was very easy to cut the excess off. It was easy to remove but I could tell that it wouldn't fall apart when skating. A few hours later I went to my local skate park to try it out. It was amazing! I could easily move my feet around without them getting stuck but when I was on the ramps or doing ollies and kick flips I could feel that I wasn't going to slip off. I could even Ollie higher because of the grip that I was getting. In the first few weeks I actually thought that it was too grippy as my shoes were wearing down from where I was sliding my foot in flip tricks but after breaking it in I don't get a problem with this anymore. I think that the tape just needed to be broken in.
I am still using this same grip tape six months on and it is doing great! It does have a few pieces missing around the sides but this does not affect its performance. Overall, a excellent grip tape.
At the begining of last cricket season, I decided to get a new cricket bat. I came across this. I had seen other people using it in games and it just looked so light and seemed to be able to launch the ball to all areas of the pitch! I picked it up, had a few practice shots and decided to get it. I have never looked back.
The bat has a orange handle and black and orange Newbery stickers. It looks amazing. The wood looks excellent as well. Mine has a perfect 8 grain with no knots and no blemishes. This does vary from bat to bat but for a £200 bat, im sure that they are all made from the best English Willow possible. The bat also has a built in toe protector which looks great when you play a quick shot. All you see if a flash of orange!
Before using the bat I had to knock it in like all top end cricket bats. This took be about 3 hours with a special knocking in mallet. It sounds like a long time but doing it whilst listening to music or whilst watching TV goes quickly. The bat is also partially knocked in so you don't have to do it for ages.
When the bat is in your hands, it feels light and it feels strong at the same time. It also feels very easy to thrash about and easy to play controlled shots. Its a perfectly balanced bat. Shots from the middle will have no problem reaching the boundary at all and even shots from the toe will have no problem getting a few runs but I would not recommend hitting out of the bottom of the bat as this can cause it some serious damage. The bat is suitable for all types of players. It can defend with no problem and is light so it can be moved towards swinging/spinning balls in a second. It is also very good for big hitters and it has a massive sweet spot and is perfectly balanced so that you can get the most power out of you shot as possible.
The bat is quite durable if you look after it. The toe protector keeps water out of the toe which makes the bat stronger and you should also oil it every 6 months. My bat does have a few dents and tiny cracks around the edges from where I have thick edged it. This is normal with most bats and does not affect the bat at all.
Overall , an excellent cricket bat. Perfect for all types of player and lasts for a long time. I would recommend it to all serious cricket players. I would not recommend it to occasional cricket players as it is expensive.
Skateboarding and other extream sports can be dangerous so wearing a helmet can be a very good idea. This helmet is a bottom of the range one. It costs £20. Sounds expensive but £20 or brain damage?
The helmet comes in black, white or camouflage. I got black. It is a base colour. The helmet does not sit nicely on your head. It sort of balances on top which feels weird but you forget its there after a while. The helmet can also move around quite a bit so you have to make sure that the clip is done up properly and you also have to keep on re tightening it through out the day.
If you fall and hit your head with the helmet on , it is quite likely that the helmet might get a crack or a scratch. If this happens you have to get a new one and your head won't be protected on that area again.
Overall , a average helmet. I would recommend it for some one who is just starting out skateboarding. If you are going to be serious about skateboarding I would recommend paying out a little bit more and getting a better fitting helmet.
I have been wearing vans ever since I have started skateboarding and I have never looked back. They are one of my Favorite shoes to wear. They are always comfortable and always look great and they are always good value. I love Vans!
Vans was started way back in 1966 and it is now stronger than ever. It was started up by Paul Van Doren and in a few years , vans were the shoe of California! Vans are now making shoes for everyday use , for skateboarding, BMXing and many , many other uses. Vans even made shoes for the USA military at one point. If their shoes are good enough for the army they are good enough for everyone else.
Vans are always bringing out new shoes. Their first was the authentic which is still going strong now. They then brought out the Era. The same as the authentic but with stronger stitching and padded ankle for extra support. Vans have also made countless other shoes.
On the Vans website you can actually create your own shoe. You chose the colors, patterns and style of the shoe and you can then buy it for a little bit extra. I love this feature and I have used it to create my current pair of vans.
Overall, I think that Vans are an excellent shoe company with some of my favorite shoes in their huge army of shoes. I would recommend anyone getting a pair!
Just in case you don't already know , skateboard bearings go inside the wheel. The left the wheel freely move on the trucks with minimal friction so that you can get the most speed possible. The bearing are the most complex part of the skateboard with many little features. They also have to be extremaly strong to withstand landings as most of the force goes in to the bearing from the wheels.
Bones are the leaders in bearing manufacture. They are used by nearly all professional skateboarders because of there speed and un rivaled long life. Bones Reds are the cheapest of all the bones bearings but they are still the best bearings under £30 and they cost just £15. Bargain!
The bearings were quite easy to get into the wheels and easy to take out as well. They are also extremaly easy to clean. You simply pop the red case off and clean. You can also buy bones speed cream. This is just a lubricant that you can put onto the bearings to make them go faster and smoother. I would definatley recommend this!
Overall, the best bearings under £30. Last a extremaly long time, look great and come at a reasonable price. They are also easy to clean and easy to make faster. A great Buy!!
A skateboard deck is what make a skateboard. Without a deck , a skateboard would be no more than just wheels and trucks. I have just stopped using my Enjoi white panda deck and I am missing it already. I think that I may have to buy another one!
The Enjoi white panda deck is their original deck. It is simple and a great, long lasting deck. It comes in two sizes. 7.6 width and 8inches. I have the 8 inches model as I have quite big feet and I usually ride on ramps. The deck is all white and well painted. There is also a white panda and the word Enjoi. The paint is thick and takes ages to be worn off even when you do board slides etc.
The board has superb pop that lasts for a very long time and the board has quite a steep concave. The 7.6 model has more concave so it is great for kick flips. I don't really like to much concave so I was happy with the amount on the 8 inch model.
The board is very hard wearing. In the whole time I had it , it never chipped and only got a few tiny cracks around the trucks. It didn't snap either which is always great! The reason that I got a new deck is just because the tail just got far to worn down and I was getting no pop out of it.
Overall , a great deck. Perfect for all round skate boarding.
After seeing these in my local shoes shop , I fell in love. I got a pair of royal blue ones with white laces and I am wearing them right now. They feel like slippers but have the look of a pair of trainers. They are as hard wearing as a pair of boots but they look like they are just string and rubber. Don't be fooled by the good looks of these shoes. They are amazing....
Vans roots lie in skateboarding but they have been worn casually and for skateboarding for many years now. This is because they are extremaly hard wearing so they don't get wrecked on the skateboard and in everyday life and they are extremaly comfortable. You may have mistaken these Vans for Vans authentic plimsolls. They are exactly the same but the eras have padding around the ankle. This is ankle support for skateboarding and just gives much more support and comfort for £2 more!
These shoes are perfect for many occasions. They can be used for casual trainers , skateboarding shoes or even as school shoes if you get the all black model. Talking of colors , the vans era come in a massive range of colors so you are sure to find a color you like. If you can't find a style you like , you can always customize your own on the vans website. You can chose they style , color and much more !
Overall , an excellent shoes perfect for any occasion!
Autobahn are one of the leaders in skateboard wheels. They offer top quality wheels in all sizes and colors. The nexus skate board wheels are my favorite.
The Autobahn Nexus skate board wheels are your standered skateboard wheels. They are a no frills , do everything skate board wheel. They are made from urethane which is what nearly all of the top quality wheels are made out of. It is a light material which is strong and durable. It never cracks and it takes a lot of wear to damage them. They are also extremaly resistant to flat spots. This is when one or more of the wheels develops a flat spot from to many revert and power slides.
The wheels cost me £19.99. I think that this is a extremaly reasonable price considering how long the wheels last and how much wheels that are similar standered cost. The only thing that is slightly annoying is that the graphics on the wheels are simply and wear off quicker than normal. Maybe this is just because they graphics are just writing or it isn't put on properly i do not know. It does not affect the wheel so I don't really mind!
Overall , an excellent wheel for the price. I would definatley recommend to anyone who skates a lot and need a hard wearing wheel that does everything well.
