I have wanted some riding boots for the past few winters now as every year, come autumn they seem to stay in fashion, they look comfy and versatile. However, every shop i looked in they where just too expensive (well, more than i'm prepared to pay for boots anywyas LOL) I had nearly given up all hope and was beginning to consider forking out the £100 (that i don't have) for a pair of real leather boots in a catalogue, when i cam across these beautys in none other than TESCO!!
I had heard the F&F clothing range was suppose to be good but to me Tesco's is where you buy your chicken kievs not the staples of your wardrobe! However, when is aw these i fell in love they were EXACTLY what i was after and at £20 i figured even if they only lasted this winter i would have my moneys worth.
Price: Around £20 (but i've got a feeling they where a few quid cheaper :O !! )
As i'm sure you've guessed the boots are not real leather, but thats not too say they are cheap looking or feeling as i think they look really expensive and people have complimented me on them looooads and are genuinley shocked when i say where their from. They are quite a dark brown colour so they go with most things in the winter wardrobe and are flat so there really comfy and easy to walk in. They have a small elasticated panel at the back, which if like me you don't have the slimmest calves, make them really easy to get on and comfy to wear. There is also a zip on the inside at the bottom although both these things are virtually invisible so dont affect the look of the boots,
~What i Thought~
As you can probably tell i LOVE these boots i have had them since September and have worn them loads both outside and to work and so far so good in terms of comfort and durability. Which if i'm honest i was a little worried about because of the price. But they still look great, i can wear them with almost anything, there comfy and i get loads of compliments and would definitley reccomend. 10/10 for me! :)
I am a huge fan of the 'Jelly Belly' jelly bean range and whenever i'm in Selfridges in the Bullring i'm always really tempted bu the pick&mix style selection of all the yummy flavours :) So when i saw these tubs of jelly belly lip balms in my local bodycare i just had to try them out to see if they really did live up to the sweets they're based on, and i was very pleasantly surprised :)
STOCKIST: Bodycare and various online stores.
Flavours: Cotton candy, Very Cherry, Bubblegum, Watermelon, Blueberry. (Possibly more but these are all i've seen/own)
*I own Very Cherry, Bubblegum and Watermelon. So there the flavours this reveiw will be based on*
~The Lip Balms~
The lipbalms are in small circular tubs in a variety of bright colours that match the flavour. So very cherry is red, Bubblegum is light pink and watermelon is green etc. The bright colours are actually what drew my eyes to these lip balms on the shelf in the first place and whenever i get them out of my bag to use people ALWAYS comment on them and ask where there from etc.
The Lip balm itself is the same colour as the pots (but dont worry they wont show up green or blue on your lips these ones show up clear and the pink and red have a very slight coloured tinge to them). The lipbalm is applied by using your finger which although it can be a little messy when your on the go, i actually prefer it as you dont need a mirror like the ones in a stick.
~What I Thought~
The first thing you notice when you open the tub is the smell. They smell delicious! And they actually smell just like the flavours they are meant to be!The lip balm goes on really easily and they aren't sticky or greasy like the tubs of vaseline that i often used before. they leave your lips feeling more moisturised and they look glossy but without being too shiny or greasy. Now obviously despite being made by a food brand they are not suppose to be eaten however, being on your lips you do get a bit of a taste and they are delicious! It's actually really tempting no to eat them!!
I would definitley reccomend these lip balms as they are cheap, look great, smell (and taste) delicious and the small pots are great for in your bag and get you noticed. 10/10
~Thanks For Reading~
When i bought my ipod touch a few months back it was pretty clear from the off that i would need a case to protect the back from scratching and getting damaged so i immediatley went online and had a browse through the MANY ipod cases on offer. And when i saw this pink and black diamante case on Play.com i fell in love and had to have it :)
PRICE: Around a fiver (P+P Free)
STOCKIST: Play.com, Amazon. (Ive also seen it on several little stalls in shopping centres etc, so i would shop around for best price)
INCLUDES: 1 ipod/iphone 4 case, x2 screen protectors and 1 screen cloth.
~ The Case~
The case is made of black plastic and fits the slim design of the ipod 4 perfectly. It has spaces for the volume control buttons and camera lense etc and even when its been bashed around in my bag the ipod never seems to fall out which i had thought might be a problem so i'm very impressed with that.
On the back there are black diamante crystals stuck on with a butterfly in the middle made of varying sizes of silver and pink diamantes. Above and below the butterfly there are swirly patterns with flowers in. These are made of very small gold diamantes and some large pearly looking circles in white and light pink
The actual pattern is really cute and girly and in my opinion looks like it would have cost more than £5. The design also looks exactly like it does in the picture which isn't always the case when ordering online, so thats a bonus.
~What I Thought~
As i have mentioned you cant fault the design of this case however the quality leave VERY much to be desired. Within about a week some of the diamantes had fallen off and after a month or so of use the edges of the pattern had started to curl under where it had been stuck on, and huge chunks of the diamantes have fallen off. I can still use the case (as i'm waiting for my other one to be delivered but it's taking a while) but it does look really tatty and cheap now so i purely use it to protect the back. I suppose you cant expect much for a fiver, and you do get what you pay for. But i had hoped for more from this case as i know of people with similar diamante cases that have lasted alot better.
I have wanted to upgrade from old ipod nano pretty much ever since the first ipod touch came out (however many years ago that was), but due to the price i could never quite save enough as i would always cave and end up splashing out on a new bag or pair of shoes and would have to start saving all over again:( Then at the beginning of this year i got my saving head on and finally a few months ago i could actually afford to treat myself to a new toy :) And now i've got it i honestly can't believe i left it so long, i LOVE it and can't live without it!!
PRICE: RRP is £193 (but i paid ALOT less, so shop around a little. Supermarkets tend to be the best places)
MEMORY: 8gb (up to 1,750 songs), 32gb and 64gb also available.
BATTERY LIFE: up to 40 hours of audio (2 hours fast charge to 80%)
IN THE BOX: The ipod, apple earphones, USB cable.
Having only owned an ipod nano before this the most obvious difference is that this ipod is alot bigger yet thinner lol. It is '3.5 inches (diagonal) with a widescreen multi touch display and retina control'. So in other words it is a touch screen with really high resolution making the pictures really clear and high quality, which i must admit i was very impressed with (i can watch films on it clearer than my tv anyways LOL).
The screen of the ipod takes up the whole of the front with only 1 button at the bottom and volume control and an off button on the side and the top. The back of the ipod is the same as other models, silver with the apple logo. I think the silver does look great BUT it does scratch very easily so i would reccomend you buy a case ASAP.
Probably the least exciting feature (weird for an ipod LOL), itunes is already loaded onto the ipod so you can download and play your music straight from itunes . (Or you can do it the old fashioned way and use the USB provided.) I tend to use my laptop as i can't store all my music on the ipod due to the lack of memory. However, having itunes on the laptop is great when downloading podcasts and films that you plan on watching on your ipod, particularly if your laptop isn't to hand. The main different features with regards to music is the shuffle option. Basically, when listening to music in a playlist you simply shake the ipod and the songs will shuffle themselves and play in a random order. While this is a nice idea, i personally think its really irritating as i often do it accidently when putting the ipod in my pocket or particularly when excercising. One of the better things regarding music is the speakers, it is possible to listen to music either via earphones or a loudspeaker (even though it is fairly quiet), it's great for listening to music out loud when you are outside and dont have speakers.
As well as downloading music straight to the ipod you can also download videos or films (either buy or rent). The quality of the videos is really good the picture is clear and you forget that your watching it on such a small screen. You can also film your own short videos on the ipod and upload them straight to Youtube or email them to a friend. You can also download video editing apps and edit on the ipod. I personally dont really use this feature as i'm not really into making videos but also the quality doesn't look that great to me (but i'm no expert on these things)
Safari web browser is already loaded onto the ipod so you can browse the internet as you would on a computer really. Most websites have mobile versions so the sites look exactly the same and are really easy to navigate. HOWEVER, the 1 major negative of the ipod, especially in comparison with the iphone is that it doesn't have 3G internet instead you need to use a wireless connection. SO basically you can only access internet when your at home or somwhere with wireless acces such as starbucks (not good for when your waiting at the bus stop lol)
The Facetime feature is one of the most wasted features on me, as i have only used it once (just to see that it worked) lol. I dont know why but i just dont see the appeal of video calling (the whole point of speaking to someone on the phone or internet is you dont need to get dressed and do your makeup LOL) But for those who want to use it it's pretty impressive and easy to do as the ipod literally guides you throught the set up. Facetime can be used with other ipod 4g, iphone, ipads and macs but you do need wireless connection.
There is a built in camera with 5mpx (im not too sure what that means) but the pictures are of poor quality and there isn't a flash so i personally use my digital camera alot more. However, the fact that you can upload your pictures straight to facebook/twitter is a really handy feature. And downloading the picture editing apps (particularly some of the more jokey ones) is really fun.
The ipod has an iBookshelf ready loaded so you can dowload books straight from the ibook store and read them on your ipod. You do pay for most books, but i was actually surprised at how many of the books are free (or at least VERY low priced). I was also surprised at how easy to read they are as your eyes dont get tired and its also possible to magnify and look up words in the dictionary or thesauraus (with wireless).
Last but not least my favourite thing about the ipod, the app store!! Having owned my ipod for just a few months i reckon i've downloaded well over 50 apps (and downloading more all the time). Apps can be downloaded straight form the App store some for a smal price (most of them free). I have downloaded evrything from games to tube maps to photoshop to ebay and facebook. There really is an app for everything!! And they are so quick and easy to download (and delete when you get bored).
I can fully see how the ipod touch is nothing like owning an iphone or any ther fancy smartphone (mainly for the lack of internet on the go). But i would never be able to afford any of those things so as a cheaper alternative i think this is spot on and would reccomend it to anyone.
I have been a fan of Cecilia Aherne's novels for a few years now, ever since my sister reccomended 'A Place Called Here' to me and i now own and have read pretty much every one!! I first read this book about 2 years ago and LOVED it, and given the awful weather over this bank holiday weekend, i needed a good book to curl up with and thought i would revisit the magical land where all the lost things go. I have literally just finished the book for the 2nd time and can't believe i haven't written a reveiw on it sooner!!
TITLE: A Place Called Here (There is also a version of this book called 'There's No Place Like Here' i very nearly ordered this book not realising it was the same as the one i already own but with a different title so watch out for that one.)
PRICE: rrp is £7.99 but you can get it alot cheaper new or used online (or even cheaper in charity shops lol).
STOCKIST: all the normal places WHSmiths, Amazon.co.uk etc.
'A Place Called Here' follows the story of Sandy Shortt. Sandy has had an obsession with missing things ever since a girl form her childhood (Jenny-May) went missing without a trace when they where 10. Ths obsession for finding missing things (whether it be a pair of old socks or a person) carries on into Sandy's adult life as she opens her own missing persons agency.
The book follows Sandy as she's contacted by Jack Ruttle, whos brother Donal is missing and she vows to meet him and help find his brother. However, when Sandy takes a different turn during a morning jog she finds herself in ther place she's been searching for her whole life. She's 'Here'. The place where all the lost things go.
But now shes 'Here' will Sandy ever find her way back?
~What I Thought~
I absolutley LOVE this book. The story of the magical land of here is such an unusual and intriguing idea that made me want to keep reading and find out exactly where this story was going. I read ALOT of books, or should i say i START alot of books, but many of them are the same old 'chick lit' stories told over and over again. But this book really is something different, it is beautifully written and the way alternate chapters are told from Sandys and Jacks point of veiw means you get the story from different angles, yet unlike other books that use this technique it is not at all confusing and it is actually really easy to read.
I would definitley reccomend this book to everyone as it is a really easy and enjoyable read, the idea of 'Where do the lost things go?' is really unique and i guarantee you wont get that feeling of deja vu when reading, unlike a lot of books out there. The enchanting and magical element to the book makes it a real feel good book that does make you think but also leaves you with a smile on your face. 10/10
~Thank's For Reading My Review~
I have been a long time fan of Barry M nail varnish as they quite literally come in any colour you could imagine, they look great and most importantly they are cheap. So a couple of months ago when i read about the new 'Barry M Nail Effects' i had to try it out. And it did not disapoint :)
Price: Around £3.99
Stockists: Boots, Superdrug etc
Colours: Black Magic, White Forest, Blue Print, Pink Fizz & Gold Glitter.
(I own Black magic and Pink Fizz so thats what this reveiw is based on)
~ How To Use~
Step 1: Clip, file and buffer nails and apply a basecoat evenly to avoid staining your nails.
Step 2: Allow basecoat to dry before applying your chosen colour of NORMAL nail varnish. (When using the black version of this i found that a bright basecolour looks the best however when using the pink it didn't look so great and i would reccomend using a darker colour like black. But it's best to experiment and see what you like)
Step 3: Allow the base colour to dry and apply the nail effects over the top using single strokes without overlapping. IMPORTANT: If you overlap the nail effects it wont work so make sure you take your time and use single strokes (it took me a few goes to get it right, so give yourself enough time to practice)
~What I Thought~
After using the nail effects as i described above, within seconds the nail effects did look just like cracked nail varnish exposing the colour underneath. My nails looked really funky and different and definitley made me stand out. As i mentioned above it did take a few practice goes for me to get it right as if you overlap it your nails just go black, but now i've got the nack its really quick and easy to use and i can get a proffessional looking nail art manicure in minutes. I would definitley reccomend the nail effects, particularly to young people who like really bright, different looking nails that will make you stand out.
Now that the summer (if you can call it that) is drawing to an end i suddenly found that i have no decent pyjamas or nightwear. I tend to normally sleep in old tracksuits or leggins, which are comfy but make me look a complete tramp LOL. I had origionally planned to venture into town to have a look at what high street clothes stores such as Primark, New Look,La Senza etc had on offer in terms of affordable yet cute&comfy pyjamas. But when i was in tescos doing my weekly shop i had a little nose in the F&F clothing section and saw these, and as the slogan describes me perfectly i HAD to have them!!
Price: £9:50 (currently 20% off, so you can snap them up for around 6 quid. BARGAIN!)
Sizes: 8-10, 12-14, 16-18
Colour: Only available in Pink
Stockist: Designed by Florence & Fred exclusivley for Tesco stores and tesco.com
Material: 100% cotton
Delivery: Pick up from stores the next day for free, 2-5 working days: £3.95, Next day delivery: £5.
The pyjamas look exactly as they do in the picture which is good if your ordering online. The top is a pale pink t-shirt with the slogan 'I'm not gossiping...I'm networking' written in large black letters on the front and a pink lipstick kiss mark in the middle. The slogan on the front is what attracted me to these pyjamas as i do spend too much of my life sat on facebook and gossiping about something (or someone) or other with my friends, so this really did make me smile. The bottoms are a much brighter pink with a black lipstick pattern all over it, the bottoms are also cropped and come to just passed the knees on me, making them good for both summer and winter. The pink colours and girly lipstick pattern also make them look really cute and girly which is another reason i bough them.
~What I Thought~
I love these pyjamas! being 100% cotton they are really soft and comfy and also look really great. I am normally a size 10-12 but bought these in a size 12-14, they are a little loose but as they are pyjamas i would prefer this than they be too tight and uncomfortable. I would reccomend these pyjamas to any young girls or teenagers as they are really girly and the slogan is more suited to young girly girls.
~Thanks For Reading~
I received this Fearne Cotton make-up giftset for my birthday a few months ago. Not that i am ungrateful for any gifts people give me, but i was a little disapointed as in my experience celebrity make-up ranges are awful and normally end up going mouldy on the shelf or in the bin! However, i decided to give this one a go as i do really love Fearne Cotton and many of the products in this set looked quite cool. And i'm glad to say i was pleasently surprised by many of them :)
STOCKISTS: Boots, Boots.com
PRICE: Unfortunatley as this was a present i dont know the price.
PRODUCTS: cosmetic bag, 4 mini lip glosses, 2 eye shimmers, lipstick, Mascara, Eyeliner, 2 eye pencils, Eyeshadow Compact and a cosmetic puff.
The bag is heart shaped with a zip going around one half of the heart, the bottom has a girly yet edgy pattern with flowers and skulls and the inside of the bag is leopard print. The top of the bag is clear plastic which makes it really handy to be able to see all of your makeup inside the bag and saves you from rummaging around. I personally love this bag and keep all of my makeup inside. 5/5
There are 4 mini lip glosses in a light pink, bright pink, clear gloss and a slightly brown shade. The glosses are in small little pens (perfect for in your bag) and simply twist the end and apply with the brush. The colours look really good and you definitley get a good selection. However, the gloss is very sticky which can be annoying. I use these glosses occasionally but not as much as some other products in the set. 2/5
There are 2 eye shimmer pots, one is a sparkly silver colour and the other is bronze. The shimmer needs to be applied with a brush and as i have found with all eye shimmers they can be a bit messy to apply however, one they are on the eyelid i think they look great. the colour is alot more subtle than they look in the pot but i personally prefer this look and they stay put for a long time. 4/5
The lipstick is a very pale nude colour (which i was very happy about as i have been looking for one for ages) and goes on the lips very well and comes up a great colour. The only negative is it does fade quickly unless you put the clear lipgloss on over the top (which i do whenever i wear this lipstick). 3/5
The mascara is probably one of the best products in the set. It is only a small wand and is black in colour but i personally think its great! It separates my lashes and makes them look really dark and long. I wish this was sold separatley!! 5/5
The eyeliner is black and double ended, with the pencil on one end and a small sponge applicator on the other so you can smudge the eyeliner and create Fearnes signature flicked out 'cat eyes' for yourself. Although this is a nice idea i think the applicator is rubbish and never use it. The eyeliner on the other hand works really well and i use it often. 4/5
There are 2 eye pencils: Envious green and Violet vamp. The violet colour personally just isn't for me. The green however is my summer must have in terms of makeup!! It is a really stricking green shade with a slight shimmer to it , and the chunkyness of the pencil means you can use it on the lower part of the eye as an eyliner or over the lids as an eyeshadow. I have worn this LOADS and have nearly run out so i hope they sell it individually!! 5/5
~Eye Shadow Compact~
The compact is black witha gold pattern on the top. Inside there is a mirror on the 1 side and on the other there are 5 eyeshadows in brown/bronze colours and 1 turquoise/green colour. The eyeshadows are great colours, long lasting and blend well together and the compact is perfect for in your bag. 5/5
I have never used a cosmetic puff to apply my powder before as i just couldnt see how they would work and when i saw this leopard print fluffy one i presumed it was more for decoration than practical use. But it turn out its for both. It is really soft, applies powder really well and obviously looks good on the dressing table!! 5/5
All of these products come in a large floral hat box with a leopard print/skull pattern around the top which is really handy for storage (i keep hair accessories in mine). So overall i would definitley recommend this as a gift for anyone under the age of 25 as its really cool and edgy looking and the products really do work.
I LOVE wearing high heels, as i think they can really make an outfit however, i am AWFUL at walking in them! Which is why i love it when it gets to summer time and wedges come into fashion. When i saw these brown strappy wedges i knew they would be a staple piece of my summer wardrobe... and i was right :)
Sizes: 4 - 8
Colour: Brown (I haven't seen them in any other colour)
Stockist: New Look
As you can see from the picture the wedges are brown in colour, and although they are a little plainer than alot of the brighter/patterned wedges in the shops i think this makes them more versatile as you can wear them with pretty much any outfit during the day or night. The wedges are open toe (so make sure you paint your toenails LOL), and have lots of thin criss-cross straps across the front. There is also a little zip at the back making the wedges easy to put on and take off. The actual shoe part of the wedges is leather (fake i'm presuming) and the wedge part is wooden, which i think makes them look more expensive than some of the straw type ones that have been in the shops this summer.
~What I Thought~
As you can tell by the title of this reveiw i found these wedges VERY comfy to wear, i normally really struggle to walk in heels and often end up taking them off before the end of the night. However, whenever i've worn these i forget that i'm even wearing heels and my feet feel fine the next day. They are so comfy and easy to walk in i have even worn them several time during the day (and i NEVER wear heels in the day lol). The wedges are also really versatile and can be worn with pretty much any outfit whether it's to dress up some trousers/jeans on the night or with shorts or a playsuit in the day, i really have struggled to find an outfit they dont go with!! The only down side to these wedges is that strappy part at the front is quite tight and after i take them off i can sometime be left with strap marks across the front of my feet.
Overall i would give these wedges 9/10, and would definitley reccomend them to anyone :)
I have naturally quite fair lashes and without mascara i look like i dont have any eyelashes at all, which as you can imagine is NOT a good look! So for that reason mascara is one make up essential that i wear literally EVERYDAY, so finding the right one is very important. I have tried some truly rubbish mascaras in my time. which is why when i discover one that gives me thick, long separated lashes i tend to stick to that one mascara. However, recently when i went to my local Boots to get my trusty 'Loreal Telescopic mascara' i was shocked that they had completley sold out!!! My friend that i was with recommended this Max Factor Xperience mascara as she she says she swears by it and the fact that it was on a 3 for 2 offer i thought i might as well give it a go, and i was not disapointed!!
Price:RRP is £10.99 but can be found cheaper online.
Colours:Black and Black/Brown.
I personally had never used anything from the Max Factor range until i purchased this mascara along with an eyeshadow (also reveiwed), so i didn't really know what to expect. But part of the reason i dont use their make up is that it is quite expensive and the slogan "make-up of make up artists" always made me think of it as quite an upmarket expensive brand. So its no surprise that the Xperience Volumising Mascara claims to give you a proffessional false lash effect by making lashes look up to 3x longer yet still with a lightweight feel so your lashes are free to flutter. It also advises that you can use one coat for a beautiful sleek look or extra coats for a stronger more dramatic look.
~Does It work?~
The mascara itself comes in a black bottle with a large green X on it, just like all the other products in Max Factors 'Xperience' range. The brush is pretty standard looking but the bristles are fairly large and spaced out compared to some. The mascara is really easy to use and even after one coat my lashes did look alot more separated and long. I have worn this mascara everyday for the past week or so that i've owned it both in the day and on a night out and it is perfect for both, i own the Black shade of this mascara and it only takes a few coats to create really dark dramatic lashes without clumping like alot of other mascaras can do. The only thing about this mascara is that when your applying it does take a few seconds to dry as i did smudge it quite alot the first time i used it but if you bare this in mind and give it a few seconds before you blink its fine. As i mentioned i have worn this mascara ona night out and in the day and in both instances it has amazing staying power as i didn't need to reapply at all and it stioll looked great.
I would definitley recommend this mascara if you want long, separated looking lashes and its deffo good value for money!
x Thanks For Reading x
I LOVE make up, but unfortunatley for me im not that great at applying it!!! It took me a good few years to perfect the 'smoky eye' look (which is my signature look for a night out) and it still takes me AAAGES to do with normal eyeshadow, that is until i discovered this Max Factor Smoky Eye Effect Eyeshadow!!!
Stockists:Boots, Superdrug etc
Shades:Pink Plume, Blue Tempe, Onyx Smoke, Purple Dust, Silver Storm, Indigo Mist, Citrus Thunder and Bronze Haze.
*I personally only own the Onyx Smoke shade, so thats what this reveiw is based on *
~What Is It?~
As you can see from the picture this eyeshadow is a double ended crayon style eyeshadow which includes two different shades which look good together when blended. The onyx smoke shade has a silver colour one end and black the other, the silver end is quite large and round and is used to cover the eyelid. The black end is slightly more pointed as it should be used in the outer corners of the eyelid and then blended together with the silver to create the perfect sexy, smoky eyes in quite literally seconds.
~Does It Work?~
In a word....YES!!! I seriously didnt expect it 2 work as i thoght it looked a bit gimmicky and couldnt really see how it would blend easily, but it really does! The fact that it is a crayon makes it easier to apply than using a brush to apply powdered eyeshadow as i usually find that powdered eyeshadow spills all down my face and csn be quite messy, but with this you dont have that problem. The fact that the black end is pointier for the corners of the eye also means that its easy to apply neatly. The only things i would say is that you do have to press quite hard and go over your eyelids a few times to get a really dramatic colour, but in some ways this is better because it means you have more control over the colour. So basically if you want a lighter more subtle effect in the day you just apply 1 light coat and if you want dark dramatic eyes for the night you go over it a few more times. The eyeshadow also lasts all night without need for re-application.
I would personally recommend this to anyone who loves the smoky eye effect as this really is the quickest and easiest way to achieve that look. Its also great for anyone who (like me) isn't great at making their own makeup look really proffessional.
I am a naturally pale skinned girl and whilst this doesn't particularly bother me most of the time when it gets to spring/summer and the weather gets a bit sunnier i do love having a healthy golden brown tan so that when we do get the odd brief spell of sunshine i can get my legs out in a dress or shorts without feeling self conscious. I personally dont like the idea of using a sunbed so tend to fake it during the summer months, however the recent surprise spell of good weather caught me a little off gaurd so after my friend recommended it i bought some of this wash off instant tan, and i have fallen in love :)
Stockists:Superdrug, Boots and online.
The tan comes in a fairly large tube which looks just like the picture so i wont bore you with too much detail. The tan claims to be transfer resistant and is made to be used on both the face and body to create an instant golden tan that lasts for 24 hours and is then washed off in the shower.
I bought the tan in the light matte shade (partly because i'm quite pale but also because it was the only shade left in the shop), this shade suits me perfectly but it is darker than i would have expected from a shade that calls itself 'light', so if you are after a more natural light tan you do need to be careful.
I found the tan reeeeally easy to apply i simply squeezed a small amount onto my tanning mitt and applied in small circular motions to my arms and legs (just like any other fake tan really). The fact that the tan is instant means its sooo much easier to apply than normal as you can easily see where you've tanned and apply it evenly. It took me about 15 minutes to tan my legs, arms, chest and top of my back (as that was all that was on show at the time) and the tan didnt streak all. The colour was a really even brown colour and didnt look fake at all. I have since used it loooads sometimes in the day when we have nice weather and sometimes just on my legs for a night out (to even out the gradual tan i use on my face and arms) and in all circumstances it is just brilliant, a real miracle worker!!! I would definitley reccomend this to anyone that needs a tan, FAST!
I have been dying my hair a dark chocolate brown for a few years now and although i dye it regularly the colour does seem to fade really fast, which is why my hairdresser recommended using a brunnette shampoo. I have used several different kinds (most of them quite expensive). So when i saw this in superdrug for 69p i actually did a double take at how cheap it was and thought it was worth a try.
The shampoo looks exactly like the given picture, it comes in a dark brown large tube with a picture of a dark haired woman on the front. The packaging of the shampoo looks really good for such a cheap non branded shampoo in fact it reminds me of the toni and guy brunnette shampoo.
i'm not going to go into detail of how to use it as i'm sure you all know how to wash your hair LOL. The tube does claim to revitalise coloured hair using extracts of espresso, cashmere and cocoa. I dont know which if these ingredients it is but when i used this shampoo the smell wasn't exactly pleasant when i smelt it however when i was washing my hair the smell soon went. After washing my hair in this shampoo for a couple of days i did notice that my hair looked more silky and smooth. I wouldnt say that the colour looked anybetter but the quality of my hair after dying definitley did improve.
Overall, i would recomend this shampoo for brunnettes who are on a tight budget as you will struggle to find one cheaper!!! The shampoo does do what it claims and is a good shampoo however its not as good as other more premium brands and the smell is a little off putting. But all-in-all its a good shampoo but you do get what you pay for :)
I personally have never really been a 'candle person' i have been given some as gifts and not to be ungrateful but they usually end up gathering dust on my shelf until my mom steals them and uses them for herself. However, since i moved into my own house with friends under a year ago there always seems to be candles/incense sticks etc i the living room and wafting out of their bedrooms, so i thought i would look for one in my room.
I was browsing through family bargains stocking up on household items when i saw the 'Betty Crocker' range of candles for just 99p per candle which i think is really great value for money as some candles i have seen are ridiculously overpriced considering its just a candle. The fact that it smells like Betty Crocker's food was an added bonus for me!!! The candle i purchased is the 'Cinammon Bun' fragrance but i also saw candles scented like strawberry shortcake, blueberry pie, fresh cut melon and cherry pie. (i personally CAN'T WAIT to try the other fragrances as they all sound gorgeous!!!) I haven't seen the candles sold in any other shop but i've had a little look online and you can buy them from amazon and ebay for around £3, which is still quite good value i think.
The candle itself is a light brown colour and really quite big for the price it comes in a clear glass dish with a flat bottom and goes a little higher than the actual candle which is good as it makes it impossible to knock over and the flame doesn't even come outside of the dish making it really safe and you don't need to put it inside another dish to catch any dripping wax which makes it really clean. Less than a minute after lighting the candle i could smell the candle and i was shocked that it actually DID smell like cinammon!! I personally love the scent of this candle as it's yummy without being too overpowering. I have had the candle about 4 or 5 weeks and i light it on a regular basis (but not everyday) and i've only just had to throw it away so it lasts a long time.
The only bad thing i can say about this candle is tht the smell does get very overpowering towards the bottom, but it takes so long to get to the bottom and i've had soo many uses out of it i dont see that as a big deal if youve only paid 99p!!!! I would definitley recommend these candles as i personally will be getting more in the other fragrances very soon!!!
I am a typical girly girl who knows absolutley nothing about games consoles, in fact the only one i have ever owned (and still own) is a PS2 and if i'm honest it's been used more as a DVD/CD player than an actual games console LOL. So i would like to apologise in advance if this reveiw isn't the most 'clued up' on the site but i have owned my wii for about 2 months now so figured i probably know enough to let you know how i got on and what i think of it :D
COLOURS: usually white but can now be bought in black or red.
WHAT'S IN THE BOX: wii console, 1 wii remote, 1 Nunchuck (Mine came with wii sports game but it depends which package u buy)
PRICE: Around £130 in shops but i paid £80 on ebay and it was unopened/brand new so shop around for a bargain!!
I personally had never even played on a wii when i first bought it a few months ago so i really was clueless!! However, i was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to set up and start playing. The instructions of how to set up, what to plug in where etc was really easy and synching the remote to the console was also really easyt to do and once you do it the first time you play you dont need to again which is good.
~What It Looks Like~
The wii i have is white which i personally I'm not too keen on as it doesn't match my tv/DVD player etc and to be honest really stands out. As i keep it in my bedroom at uni this isn't an issue but when i'm home my mom doesn't like it in the living room for some reason. (I dont really see why but some other housewives out ther may relate and dislike this too LOL) The console itself is relativley small and compact however it does come with alot of wires one of which has a big grey box on which can get in the way a little.
~Playing the Wii~
The first game i played was wii sports which came with the console, if like me you are a 'wii virgin' i would definitley recomend this game to start you off as it is really simple to play both on your own and with others, it's loads of fun and of interest to everyone (i mean who doesn't know how to play tennis LOL) The only thing that struck me was the graphics were pretty basic but to be honest the majority of the games i have played on the wii have been simple so this isn't an issue as i think the interaction of the game is suppose to be the key selling point.
~What Do I Think~
I personally LOVE the wii and have become a little bit addicted to it if i'm honest!! I can fully understand why experienced gamers dont rate it as even i can tell the graphics are poor and the games are basic. But for people like me that suits me just fine as i'm far more interested in having fun jumping around the room trying to bat a ball than to look at amazing graphics on a screen!!! LOL. I would definitley reccomend this console especially if you aren't very experienced at gaming or have young kids etc. I also think this console is better when playing with a group of people as its perfect entertainment to get out at and play with your mates or even family as its really suitable to all ages.
