Original Source is a company which prides itself for making the most natural of skin products and this shower gel is certainly no exception, bursting with natural colours and smells!
The 250ml plastic shower bottle is in a shape of an unusual prism without the sharp points! The plastic bottle is very ergonomic and it is ribbed on the back, so you can held it when it is waterproof and won't slip out of your hand in the bathroom, unlike other shower bottles. It is great that you can see the wonderfully viscous lime green liquid inside, it is certainly very eye-catching on the shelves. On the front of the bottle there is the all-so-famous logo with a caption of "mouthwateringly zingy" which is oh-so-true!
There is a black dispenser at the bottom of the bottle, it provides the perfect resistance to squeezing but sometimes the lid is very difficult to close.
~~~INSTRUCTIONS AND INFORMATION~~~
On the back it explains that you should "pour out, feel fruity." This stuff is really powerful and invigorating, as soon as you've opened the lid you can a wonderful waft of strong zingy citrusy lime which wakes me up any morning! To make the gel they've used 40 real limes and pure Lime essential oil, it is all natural because the gel is approved by the aromatherapy trade council and vegan society!
There is also an explanation as to how the company doesn't test on animals which is very moral I believe as well as reducing their product miles making it more eco-friendly! Feel good for buying the product!
The gel is very thick, smooth and viscous, but has a wonderful almost translucent green colour. The gel itself doesn't foam well but lathers quite nicely and it transforms your shower into a powerful citrus spa as the smell is instantly transferred onto your body reenergising you for the day ahead.
You only need a very small amount of the product for it to be effective as it is incredibly potent. Your skins feels soft after use, but not as soft as some other products e.g Dove, it is good that doesn't leave any residue. I can imagine that some people could have a headache with the everlasting lime smell, but I find it very pleasant and it lasts for a very long time after use about 3 hours I would say.
After drying myself, I found that this shower gel isn't particularly moisturising and it leaves your skin somewhat dry after use so I recommend using moisturiser after showering
~~~PRICE AND AVAILABILITY~~~
You can find this gel in Boots, Superdrug, Tesco, Sainsbury, Waitrose, ASDA, Morrisons and most other supermarkets, the 250ml bottle costs in the region of £2.00-£2.50, but watch out for special offers. I bought a bottle of this in Morrisions since it was on special offer for £1 which is a bargain, otherwise it would be considered a luxury product due to its price.
The product should last approximately 2 weeks, and you don't get as much volume of gel as other products which is shame.
It is quite evident these days that high streets are being tansformed by expensive, trendy cafes such as Starbucks, Costa Coffee and Pret a Manger. However, I believe one cafe stands head and shoulders above the other ones (like the Roman Emperor Nero) and that is Caffe Nero.
Picture this, it is a lazy Saturday afternoon and you are sprawled across a wonderfully chocolate leather sofa, sipping tepid coffee and reading the news without a care in the world. The ubiquitous, unctuous aroma of roasted coffee is all-engulfing, the background jazz music is mellow and the chat of others melts away into the background. This is what it is like at Cafe Nero.
The range and quality of the coffee is excellent at this Cafe, it is really authentic Italian coffee (unlike fake Costa Coffee). They really do have everything from Americano to Zuppa (soups). All coffees come in a nice porcelain coffee cup - the way it should be, sprinkled with a little chocolate powder shaped as a coffee bean.
Heed my words of advice though, occasionally the coffee can be a tad strong since they usually put 2 shots of espresso, in this case just go to the friendly barista who will add a smidgeon of milk. The cold drinks are a treat, since they are perfect for a hot Summer day and they are very tasty and extremely smooth (unlike frappuccinos and frescatos with bits of ice).
There is complementary iced water which is unique to this cafe, along with a well-stocked assortment of sugar, salt, pepper, milk and other such condiments...
Truth be told, they make perfect espressos, but it gets better, the food is incredibly tasty and delicious.
They have a wide range of food from soups (tomato and basil, pumpkin, fish...) to panini (mozzarella and tomato, tuna, ham and cheese...), which are all absolutely delicious!. All the food tastes amazingly fresh and delectable and quite affordable. The handmade crisps are out of this world!
The atmosphere is astoundingly relaxing, and it is a great place to come with friends or just by yourself for a little 'me' time. It is wonderfully decorated with lovely mellow-coloured walls adorned with modern art pieces and furnished with comfy leather sofas resting on wooden flooring.
You certainly don't feel rushed in this cafe (unlike other ones), the staff are very friendly and are always happy to assist. You also build up a since of loyalty as they run a loyalty card scheme, whereby you buy 9 coffees and get a tenth free.
There is always a myriad of newspapers available to read, they generally in very good condition and in abundance and you can easily lose yourself (I often find myself doing this!)
Another major advantage is that if you have ordered some food, the baristas can easily find you because they have given you a wooden block with numbers. Other cafes have a serious issue with this, as there is no such system and baristas can annoy you because they ask people if they have ordered a particular dish.
~~~PRICE AND LOCATION~~~
Generally, the prices of coffee and food are quite competitive although they are generally expensive due to the market. A normal coffee will cost around £2.30, I honestly think it is worth it because of the actual experience you get as well.
Although not as widespread as Costa or Starbucks, caffe Nero can generally be found quite easily and it is likely there is one on your high street. They are quite convenient in cities especially London, and random there wonderfully relaxed atmosphere yet boasting an Italian tradition.
For more information see: http://www.caffenero.com/default.asp
All in all, well worth trying, you may even find you get addicted to your local one! Also, if anyone goes to one, please try the chocolate coated coffee beans and tell me how they are, it looks really indulgent!
Recently, I've been suffering from a lot of headaches and haven't the time to see a Doctor due to the fact they're extremely busy. Instead I hunted for some fast pain-killing medicine to kill the pain - Lo Behold, these miracle caplets are my solution.
I've found that Paracetamol and Ibuprofen on their own aren't sufficient pain killers and they take awfully long to work, so this potent mix effectively gets rid of any pain and very quickly (about 5 minutes).
~~~WHAT DO YOU GET IN A PACKET?~~~
For £2.00 you get 32 caplets in the form of 4 foil trays with 8 caplets each, so it is more expensive than normal paracetamol but the difference is worth it as all the pain is just removed within minutes!
The caplets are easy to remove just by piercing the foil lining and I've found that they are very easy to carry around during travelling.
The outer appearance of the cardboard packet is quite modern, it is a nice silver colour. There is some essential advice about the caplets which is that they are a short term solution to acute pain which isn't relieved by simply taking aspirin, ibuprofen and paracetamol exclusively. There is also a warning that if you are pregnant or have severe liver disease you should not take the caplets.
The packet also gives instructions regarding the dosage, for adults and children aged 12+ one to two tablets are to be taken every 4 to 6 hours if needed and no more than 8 in one 24 hour period.
While, Children aged 6 to 11 years old can take half to one tablet every 4 to 6 hours not taking more than four caplets in a 24 hour period.
The caplets contain 8mg of codeine and 500mg of paracetamol. No other paracetamol containing products should be taken if you have taken a caplet and strictly, caplets should not be given to children under the age of 6 as this is dangerous.
These white caplets can easily be split into two parts since the caplet has a ridge in the middle so that it is easy to break into two parts if only half is required. They are quite small in size, I would say approximately the size of a small bead.
The caplets are quite easy to swallow since they dissolve well in your mouth and become chalky. I don't particularly like the taste as it is quite bitter but this is bearable in respect to the pain-relieving qualities.
~~~WHAT IT CAN BE USED FOR~~~
These caplets can be used to treat the pain of a variety of conditions including:
-Symptoms of colds and flu
Personally, I find it the best medicine for headaches.
These caplets contain Codeine which is recently considered a harmful if taken more than 3 days consecutively, therefore the box advices you to only use these tablets for a maximum of three days as an addiction can be created. So watch out!
Right Guard have expanded and produced a new product hot-of-the-press. It is imbued with "3-D Protection" encompassing "fighting perspiration, preventing odour, giving time released freshness." I decided to buy this innovative product as it was half price is Sainbury's!
The metallic can is in a tall cylindrical shape topped off with a domed, black plastic lid. The colours are reminiscent of the night with a black background and layered with lime green and ocean blue swirls - conveying a sense of cool! The can is very sturdy though quite tall so it may be difficult to fit in bathroom cabinets.
You are told that it has a NEW improved formula and that it is a high quality product. To my surprise Right Guard is actually part of Schwarzkopf and Henkel, a brand I regard in high esteem!
The lid exposes an easy-press spray dispenser which is very ergonomic since it is made out of soft plastic!
~~~SMELL AND THE SPRAY~~~
The aroma of the anti-perspirant is very fresh and mildy spicy, this is quite pleasant, it has a very masculine odour about it which is nice since it isn't overpowering but quite gentle YET strong enough to be effective.
You are required to spray it from 6 inches directed under the arm. The spray itself is quite powerful, however it is quite powdery but this isn't that much of a problem.
This product claims to deliver on three fronts, fights perspiration, prevents odour and time-released freshness.
Right guard definitely fights perspiration during the day without a question, however it claims 24 hours of freshness which is not true as during the night within the 24 hours I wake up with some perspiration.
Despite this, it truly prevents odour and keeps you fresh during the day time. The product says it has a time-released freshness mechanism using micro-encapsulated active ingredients, however I don't think it works as I haven't noticed a difference throughout the time.
I do like the fact that it is alcohol-free and dermatologically tested as I have sensitive skin and it is fine for using. This ensures that the spray doesn't burn your skin but is gentle and caring for it.
First of all, when applying this spray on clothes it creates horrible white marks which is really annoying at times!
Secondly the lid doesn't fit securely on top of the can and you have to press down awfully hard to secure it in place, which is a pain.
Finally the actual spray dispenser clogs up with crystals formed by the spray as it dispenses large volumes of spray per unit time, this is annoying but can be resolved by dissolving the crystals in warm water as instructed on the can.
A very effective deodorant and anti-perspirant with a nice neutral aroma and it works to keep you dry and more importantly, FRESH!
These timeless luxurious chocolates are a must for any dinner party or important occasion! I was compelled to buy a box since they were on special offer at Sainsbury's and I needed a little indulgence.
The packaging is of a very high quality, the thick plastic lid is embossed with a divine diamond pattern, yet underneath are a sea of golden globes. Your eyes are fed with a feast of gold - I love what I see!
The honeycomb golden plastic tray is really sparkly and dazzling, it just oozes luxury! Each of the chocolates are hand packaged and are covered in a wonderful golden foil in a brown/gold paper basket topped off with a oval sticker proudly boasting "FERRERO ROCHER." And rightly!
In this box, you get 24 chocolates, on the side of the golden tray is embossed "Ferrero Rocher" which is extremely classy.
~~~APPEARANCE, TASTE AND TEXTURE~~~
After you've unrevealed the chocolate, you are hit with a lovely aroma of roasted hazelnuts - truly wonderful!
The chocolate sphere is embedded with roasted hazelnuts and when you take a bite you crunch through so many layers, the order from outside in are as follows:
-Milk chocolate surface embedded with chopped roasted hazelnuts
-Whole Hazelnut (the core)
The structure reminds of an edible planet, you feel like a God as your are being treated with utter luxury.
The taste is scrumptious, it is sickly sweet but you get the lovely undertones of hazelnuts - truly delicious. The differently layers complement each other obtaining an indulgent gorgeous textures and tastes!
The nutty flavor is sublime and this is truly the best chocolate on the market!
Since this is a top quality product they are quite pricey and are around £7 for a box of 24, I got my box for £3 so it was a real bargain!
~~~OPINIONS AND CRITICISMS~~~
Despite being quite pricey, these chocolates are nearly perfect products, however there are a few snags.
Firstly there is a lot of packaging so this is not good for the environment and it takes so long to unwrap and eat them!
Secondly, they can be sometimes too sweet and indulgent and a little too rich at times. They are extremely addictive to say the least!
Finally, it is hard to open the plastic lid initially as it is sealed so much with tape.
This is without a doubt the best chocolate I have ever tasted and wouldn't have any reservations in trying it - nut allergy permitting!
The product will entice you serenading on the shelf and you are rewarded with a certificate of quality ensuring the packaging is flawless and perfect!
I have had this calculator for as long as I can remember, and it has truly been a loyal companion on my mathematical voyage!
The actual body of the calculator is made out of navy blue/black soft plastic, it measures 7.5cm in width and 13cm in length, so it is quite a big calculator but it isn't as chunky as some of the old models of calculators.
Although it isn't exactly chic, it is very functional and the buttons are colour coded such as black for functions, light grey for modes and dark grey for numbers etc. This is great for inputting functions quickly
The buttons are slightly hard to press and aren't exactly ergonomic, but it is only a calculator I guess! One disadvantage is that the lid doesn't have a snug fit and it can easily can lost, which is infuriating at times.
The actual display is quite small but it is very clear as it is has a horizontal flashing line as opposed to vertical which is very mathematical and it allows you to clearly see which mode you are in at the top.
This calculator is fine for daily use e.g. totting up bills, but in terms of academic maths, I only recommend it for GCSE Maths and not for A-level.
This is because although it has all the modes which are relevant like radians, but it doesn't leave answers in surd form which is important in topics such as trigonometry and this can be frustrating. In addition to this, it doesn't leave anything in terms of an irrational number like pi, which isn't idle when answering questions specifying this.
This calculator has all the statistical functions like permutations/combinations however, it doesn't have advanced functions such as integration/differentiation which is imperative in A level.
In fairness, it does have all the basic functions such as logarithms and basic powers. It is sometimes annoying as when you are entering indices specifically for raising numbers to powers greater than three you have to use an index symbol which is time-consuming. To the contrary it performs demanding calculations quicker than other calculators and leaves them in standard form which is great!
This calculator is very reliable due to its two way power system since it has an integrated solar panel and it lasts for years! And I mean years! However, the calculator doesn't turn automatically off when idle for a long time, which means that the battery can easily deplete.
It is quite heavy to other calculators and can seem rather dated at time in both aesthetics and function. It doesn't list all modes on the screen due to the small display and hence you keep have to press the mode button which can take a lot of time.
This calculator is quite reasonably priced at only around £15.00 a few years ago at WHSmiths (I'm sure its value has depreciated!)
It is definitely recommended as a staple item in the office!
This new smartphone came into my position after my brother got a new phone and I thought I needed an upgrade to my old LG KC550.
The Curve has got a unique shape like a rectangle, but with rounded edges - which is great as there are no sharp bits to hurt yourself.
The integrated display screen on the front measures 5cm in width and 3.5cm in height which is quite a wide screen in comparison to other phones. Below the display you have a panel of 5 buttons, from left to right these are: the call button, blackberry button, control button, return button and finally the on/off button (which doubles up as a call down button). All these buttons are made of of silky plastic which are ergonomic.
Below this, you have a standard QWERTY keyboard with small keys. While above the display screen is the silver BlackBerry logo and on the top right of the phone, there is an LED which flashes when you have received a message. This is very handy and informative!
On the left of the phone is a headphone jack, a charging port and a button that goes directly to your music track list. While on the right of the phone, there is two volume buttons to adjust the volume up and down and a sound profile button to change your phone to normal, vibrate or silent mode etc.
On top of the phone there are music control buttons which include a fast-forward, backward, play and stop button. All of which are made of rubber and are very nice to touch.
On the back, the battery casing has a metallic BlackBerry symbol embedded on glossy black plastic which is of a very high quality. Overall the appearance is of a high quality and ergonomically designed.
A good feature of the phone is the vast variety of messaging options, you can compose e-mails, PINs, SMSs and MMSs at your fingertips. In addition to this there is BlackBerry messaging which is a unique method of talking to other BlackBerry users.
Sending messages are so easy as the keyboard speeds up writing the message and when you receive message you can see the whole conversation between you and a contact which is very useful.
The WAP function is very handy as it is easy to access the internet from anywhere as the phone detects WiFi very quickly.
The blackberry button speeds up navigation and it is a lot quicker and easier to access the phone through clear layouts. A feature of most smart phones is that they have applications which can be obtained from BlackBerry world, there are so many from Urban Spoon - finding different restaurants to Horoscope information.
The BlackBerry allows ultimate customization such as selecting the programs you want and where to put them on the menu to so many ring tones and sound profiles. Safety is another very good feature of the phone as you can add your own password and you can easily lock the phone allowing maximum safety.
I like the leather case that comes with the phone (albeit being tight) as it is very environmentally friendly, since when you snugly fit the phone inside the case it automatically "goes to sleep" so to speak!
When the phone is on charge, it goes straight to a sophisticated manual clock which also displays any alarms, this is really handy when you don't have you watch on you and are in bed!
Occasionally when the phone is bombarded with messages and I try to open the message, the message doesn't open and I have to switch the phone on and off to access the message, which is particularly annoying.
Speaking of texts, I have received complaints from my friends that I jam their inbox with messages, since the BlackBerry has a seamless way of sending texts like they are instant messages which is a bad thing as you get carried away by sending too many texts!
The central control button gets oily quite quickly which makes navigation difficult, while the keyboard can be fiddly sometimes since the keys are so small and you might press two keys at once due to their smallness.
I believe that this phone makes you go onto the internet too often without releasing it, as there is no warning message to tell you are about to go onto the internet which definitely increases your bill.
In terms of backgrounds and themes, the phone only has around 3 set themes which is a bit restricting at times. In terms of being able to take pictures and videos, the phone has an in-built 2 pixel camera whose quality is awful so it isn't great for that!
The battery life is quite poor and it seems the phone is juicy since I seem to have to charge my phone every night which is a hassle!
This phone is quite pricey at around £200 on pay as you go or around £30 a month, so it is considered a luxury item.
It is great when your friend/colleague has a BlackBerry as you can contact through the BlackBerry Messaging Service which is around £5/month or free on some contracts.
This phone is really cutting edge as it has the latest technologies and has made it so easy to use a phone. I would recommend buying one since they are a great investment as a phone for both business and pleasure.
Whenever it comes to washing clothes, I usually buy regular tablets as this is what I have been used to do. However one day when the tablets were out of stock and I was desperate for a washing soap, so I picked up these capsules as an experiment! Let me present my findings...
The capsules are in a clear plastic box, however this is very tacky and if kept in a cupboard full of items, the plastic will easily break as it isn't very sturdy at all! This is so annoying as the capsules can easily fall out, though a plus is that it stacks very nicely!
The box is topped with a purple lid, however personally, this doesn't even open properly as when I try to open the lid, it and the lip entirely comes off and I have to put it back.
Though I do like the way you can see the product you are buying on the shelf! It is quite novel that the soap is in these plastic capsules.
The box advises to use 2 capsules per wash but I think this is a gimmick really, as you only get 10 washes per box which I think is slightly too extortionate. Subsequently I only use 1 per wash and hence maximize the number washes (20 washes per box).
I like the way the product is environmentally friendly and economical as it works well at 15 degrees Celsius, saving money and the environment - great!
The actual capsules feels quite sticky and sometimes the capsules clump together which is annoying as you may run the risk of piercing the capsule and expelling the liquid soap.
Along with fabric conditioner on a main wash, the washed clothes come out fabulously clean - all the deep stains are gone and the product has a wonderful fresh aroma which is absolutely lovely. The smell is very fragrant, it is light and not too over-powering.
The colour care works remarkably well and none of my coloured clothes have had their colour fade away due to the lack of bleach. Another observation is that due to washing at such low temperature, the clothes come out a bit cold but dry a lot quicker than usual - definitely a plus.
These capsules are quite pricey at around £5.50 for a 20 capsule box which lasted me around 3/4 weeks constituting good value for money.
It is important to keep the capsules dry in order for the capsule not to dissolve - though it is remarkable that the plastic "melts" away in the machine - ingenious really!
I personally have sensitive skin and these capsules haven't been a problem at all, in fact I would recommend them for those with this problem.
I am glad that I have tried these new capsules as they are a very good alternative to tablets and you can wash at low temperatures and save a lot of money and the environment apparently!
I have used this toothpaste for, what it seems like, the dawn of time due to my mum's intransigent preference! I'll share my experiences with this unique toothpaste!
The white box is quite classy, however it looks quite old and has a 1960ish pattern going on. It definitely reminds me of something you would find in my grandma's bathroom cupboard due to the box's simplicity! So it isn't not quite as trendy as some of the newer toothpastes!
The actual tube is made out of thin metal so it is quite sturdy, however if the tube is in anyway ruptured you can easily hurt yourself - once I cut myself! This is due to the exposed metal which can be sharp. On the tube it says that the toothpaste is a "scientific dental preparation" which makes it sound very clinical.
I like the way it is all very secure since the tube has a foil seal which can be pierced with the tip of the tube's red cap. which also fits nicely onto the tube.
When you squeeze the tube, you get a creamy bright pink paste with a very sweet pungent smell - which can be unpleasant. You have to be careful when squeezing the tube as a lot can come out quite easily.
When you start brushing you are hit with a burning sensation, so you actually feel the paste working, however it can occasionally make your eyes water. When one of my "euthymol-virgin" friends used it, he was in complete tears since it is so strong. This is because euthymol has antiseptic properties due to the active ingredient: thymol.
The taste has been compared to Germolene, however I think it has a rather chalky, coal taste which is definitely an acquired one! The feeling after you use it is truly amazing, your mouth feels fresh and you have cinnamon breath after use!
On the box it says that this toothpaste is extremely good for preventing mouth ulcers as well as caring for gums. It is unique in the sense that it is one of the few fluoride-free toothpastes, some may find this a plus, others a negative. Personally I believe fluoride is good in a toothpaste as it is necessary for healthy teeth.
This toothpaste is found in most supermarkets/chemists but it is usually on the bottom shelf as it isn't mainstream. It is quite a high-end toothpaste normally costing around £2 for a 75ml tube.
The main disadvantage is that you have to be used to using this toothpaste to find the stinging paste bearable.
Another disadvantage is that it often stains pajamas and the colour is difficult to remove from white basins. Obviously it isn't the cheapest of toothpastes as it is quite pricey, but it is quality worth paying for in my eyes.
All in all, an effective, quality toothpaste which gives you a dentist-clean feeling after use!
While popping into Sainsbury's for my weekly groceries I came across Cadbury's chocolate fingers and being on special offer - just two for £2, I had to bag this bargain!
The standard 125g box is of a royal purple colour giving a mysterious and seducing feel about them, while the word "fingers" are actually made out of these chocolate fingers and seem to be shrouded by wispy smoke. There is a vast range of information on the box including expiry date, ingredients and contact details. The catchphrase on the box is certainly fitting "one may lead to another..."
Once you open the box with ease, out pops a black corrugated tray with the fingers wrapped with cellophane to keep them fresh and cool! Then the fun begins...
~~~TASTE, TEXTURE OF THE FINGERS~~~
The biscuit fingers are covered with a glossy thick-ish layer of milk chocolate (48%) which isn't particularly high in cocoa content! They are pleasantly crunch and very sweet due to the milk chocolate, they are truly extremely addictive (WARNING)!
I like the way the smooth chocolate is so supple to bite into, but then you also have the resistance of the biscuit which is satisfying in some ways. While the outer coating of chocolate really melts into your mouth giving a wonderful oozing sensation - divine!
Personally I like eating them on their own; however I have heard that many people eat them with a cup of coffee/tea as this melts the chocolate adding to their experience.
~~~CRITCISMS AND OPINIONS~~~
Firstly, these fingers are not very good for the dieters out there since each biscuit alone is 30 calories and 1.5g of fat! They are very unhealthy and since there are like 30ish fingers in the packet coupled with being highly addictive - it exceeds nearly all your daily allowances, but it can be enjoyed as a one-off treat and it says on the packet "be treatwise."
Another annoying thing is the stacking of fingers in the black try, the try itself is a bit tacky and I really dislike it when the fingers have sometimes merged with other fingers and also they stack up in one part and aren't distributed equally.
The lack of good quality chocolate is a real set-back since the chocolate is of poor quality - you can tell slightly but it is so sugary and addictive. They are also laced with flavourings so it isn't 100% natural.
Overall these finger-shaped biscuits covered with milk chocolate are a great treat and good for parties and those indulgent days! But they are not particularly healthy and the chocolate is a tad cheap!
From Oral-B comes an established mouth rinse, this was was recommended by my Dentist - so it has great professional commercial support!
The clear plastic bottle is clean and clinical and is topped off with a secure plastic lid, which can also be used to measure the advised 15ml solution (the level is marked on the inside of the lid). It is a good that the bottle has a paper seal on the lip of the bottle, making this product extra hygienic and secure.
I love the way the solution is blue, the container itself is quite sturdy however there are a fair few bubbles at the top of the solution - we don't want foamy mouth wash!
The actual mouth wash has just the right cleaning sensation - not too burning to make you cry but not too soft to be ineffective. This has got to be due to the fact it contains no alcohol! At last an anti-plaque mouth wash with no alcohol, indeed high concentrations of alcohol are said to be a cause of mouth cancer so this is definitely a plus!
It actually tastes of mint however this quite subtle, though the liquid definitely gives you a fresh breath afterwards and the solution tastes remarkably sweet! There is some great information on the bottle as to why this mouth rinse is better than others - firstly it contains cetylepyridium chloride, which is a clinically proven ingredient which prevents plaque formation by up to 30% with brushing. It also contains fluoride which helps prevent cavities by 40% more than brushing alone!
This mouth rinse can usually be found at all major supermarkets and chemists such as Boots. It is a little pricey at around £2.50-£3.00 making it a high-end mouth wash especially because it lasts about 2-3 weeks assuming you use 15ml twice a day for 30 seconds after brushing.
This product is not perfect, in addition to being a tad expensive, the paper seal is VERY difficult to get off and sometimes I have to find something sharp to pierce it!
Another hate is the paper disc inside the plastic lid - this gets soggy after a few uses and it just disintegrates. I'm really unsure of its purpose and when I try to take it out before use it just doesn't come out!
The style of packaging is slightly dull and boring hence it really wouldn't enthuse children to use and it is nothing exciting. While the solution itself is slightly sticky and it can easily stain being incredibly blue - i hope it isn't a colouring!
A very effective product with a few criticisms but a great alternative to alcohol-containing mouth rinses.
Jansport are top quality bags catering for all your carrying needs! I have had a school bag for about five years now and it still hasn't broken - amazing!
Their bags are usually extremely trendy with a variety of different patterns such as camouflage to fire... which is great for the ultimate customization. Obviously you have the logo, but the range of aesthetic patterns is very vast and pleasing.
Most bags have many pockets for different uses and of different sizes, like a large pocket for books/files - great for school, going to smaller ones to keep your glasses in.
They usually have a bottle holder on the side and nearly always have a earphone hole through the main pocket so you can listen to your ipod/MP3 player on the go - and discrete!
The straps are quite sturdy and comfortable and these are adjustable for a larger/smaller fit - which is great. There are many nifty pockets in the different compartments which is good for concealing any valued items.
No bag is perfect, however unfortunately Jansport's zips wear very easily and it gets frustrating when it comes loose. Also these bags can get dirty reasonably easily and I feel that sometimes the walls of the bag are too thin and folders and glasses cases can prod out which is uncomfortable to walk with.
All in all, these bags are good quality and are value for money (I only paid £25 for my school bag (green machine) which is a bargain and the capacity it stores is incredible. They are like Dr Who's Tardis :)
I popped into Boots the other day to browse at the fantastic array of products and suddenly had an epiphany that my normal neutrogena face wash had run out! I had to restock - and fast!
I requested the assistance of a helpful employee since there were so many face wash products and I wanted something natural and effect and Lo, behold! I was fervently advised to buy Boots Tea Tree + Witchhazel Foaming Face Wash and did.
The entire cylindrical 150ml bottle is made from sturdy clear plastic, this is great since I can actually see the product which is the slightly emerald green clear liquid with a thin layer of bubbles on the surface. I really like products where I can actually see the main item so this really hit the spot.
The labeling is very simple, on the face of bottle I am told that the face wash "deeply cleanses and refreshes+helps keep skin clear and healthy." The simplicity really works as it makes it seem as a natural product which I believe it is.
At the top is a dispensing pump which is quite large and made out of smooth opaque plastic, there is also a lid which sits snugly on top.
At the back, I am told the reasons that the product keeps skin clear and healthy as follows (found on the back of the bottle):
-Deep cleansing your skin of dirt, oil and make-up without over-drying
-Fight spot-causing bacterial and helping to unblock pores
-Toning your skin and leaving it feeling extra clean
~~~HOW TO USE~~~
Using this product is very simple:
-Firstly wet your face and dispense two pockets of foam into your palm.
-Message onto your face and then rinse off with warm water.
You are advised to use every morning and evening and follow with the shine control day moisturizer. This is typical Boots advertising which is slightly annoying!
This product does what it says on the tin, I was amazed when I pressed the dispenser that the green liquid magically turned into a heap of foam, this really impressed me.
The smell of the product is very antiseptic and slightly clinical, it is quite sweetly spicy because of the tea tree but is very refreshing. I love this smell as it really invigorates you on those lazy mornings.
The face wash completely gets rid of any nasty oil on your face and leaves your skin feeling soft, clean and calm (a bit like cucumber). However I would say that I did find that my skin was over dry like the feeling when you wash your hands with fairy liquid...
Albeit, one bottle seems to last for ages - about 6 weeks which is great when it is only £1.49 - a sound investment. I have observed a slight reduction in the number of spots on my face which is good but definitely not astounding.
Overall a great natural product well worth trying - put on those boots and get down to Boots!
I was browsing in the Disney store the other day when I encountered this lovely little critter, Remy the rat from the movie Ratatouille. The soft toy looked so adorable and I love this film so I just had to buy him!
~~~APPEARANCE AND FEEL~~~
Being 8 inches tall, it makes it perfect to hold Remy in your hand, and this is a pleasurable experience! His fur is amazingly soft and plush - fantastically silky! As well as this, his fur glistens in the light since it contains embedded glitter - great! It looks stunning.
In terms of his appearance he has a very soft main blue body with beige hands and feet including a long life-like tail. In addition to that he has two beady eyes which are extreme strong and sturdy - these are made out of strong cotton and are quite large and bulging. Remy is great to touch, he is so silky right down to his tail.
The proportions of his body make him very realistic as a rat as everything is well made
~~~OPINION AS A TOY~~~
This toy is great for all children (and adults). I probably wouldn't recommend this for babies/toddlers since they would ruin his silky fur due to sucking. He is very life-like and is great to play with since you can use him as a puppet (like making his head nod since he is very flexible) which makes me laugh all the time.
He is perpetually smiling so it constantly makes you happy - a great asset. I have had Remy for about 2 years and his condition is still extremely good even after playing with him for so long - great quality!
Remy was rather pricy at a hefty £25, but it is well worth the investment if you are a life-long fan of Ratatouille (like me).
It would've been better if he said a catch phrase when you pressed his soft foot since this would've been more appealing for the money.
Today I popped into Sainsbury's during Lunch time and I was enticed to pick up a bottle of "this water" lemon & lime juice. Eventually I succumbed to the power of special offers and just had to buy this one liter bottle for £1.25 since it was scorchingly hot and I needed to hydrate myself and fast!!!
This round rocket-shaped shape bottom is made out of completely clear plastic which is great since you can see the lovely cloudy lightly golden colour of the juice - oh so tempting to swig down!
Wrapped around the trunk of the bottle is a label with the logo of a green butterfly (reminds me of nature hence promoting it as a natural product) and the catchy slogan of "real fruit quencher" (oh it so was!) The list of ingredients include: Spring water, freshly squeezed lemons and limes and sugar. I do like simple products, like this water, I find that they are the most effective. The packaging is strangely reminiscent of Innocent smoothies!
I am ensured that this company is very health-conscious and cares for their customers since the bottle tells me that the juice isn't made from concentrate and it simply doesn't contain flavorings or colorings - great!
The cap tells me it is crucial to give the bottle a hearty shake to spread and redistribute the real fruit which will settle at the bottom.
As soon as you twist the cap open ready to quench your parched lips, you are hit with a wonderful pungently fresh smell of pure lemon - truly wonderful.
When tasting the liquid for the first time, it was very refreshing and slightly bitter to begin with coupled with a powerful strong lemon flavor. However as you went on to drink it, the drink turned very sweet and addicting and you could sense the delicate undertones of lime - fantastic! I honestly didn't want to stop drinking it - delicious!
It is so great that there are no thick,horrible fruity bits as the liquid is so smooth and it isn't carbonated which makes the flavors much more delicate and sophisticated. Something I feel Marks and Spencer's lemon & lime drink lacks.
~~~ETHICS OF THE COMPANY~~~
I was chuffed to see that I was actually contributing to the charity "Pump Aid" and I had just given one person in Malawi clean drinking water for a month - this company really knows how to impress and help the needy!
This product really hits the spot for those summer scorches, it provides a great cooling refreshment, however it isn't for everyone since you really need to appreciate fine lemonade since some may find it slightly bitter. This is truly my new favorite lemonade and I would wholly recommend this to everyone since it is money well spent and a fantastic quality product.
WELL DONE - 5 STARS!
