I finally bought this product after trying out a tester and umming and ahhing about it for weeks! The only thing that put me off was the price. Being about £26 - £40 depending on what size you get, I think this is quite excessive for an exfoliator, especially a daily one because you are bound to run out of it quite quickly. I apply it after my cleanser. I mix some of the powder (exfoliant) with water on my hands and rub it in until it is of a creamy consistency, I then apply and massage all over my dry face before rinsing off with warm water. The exfoliant is very different to others, it's not as harsh on the skin. As someone with acne prone sensitive skin I wanted something which would exfoliate my skin without irritating it or breaking me out - I think this exfoliant it perfect for my skin type. In this way the product can be used daily as opposed to others which deem to be too harsh for daily use on the face. Saying this however I find that it works best for me if I use it every other night after cleansing as opposed to every single day because I don't like to apply too much product to my sensitive skin. After use my skin feels so soft! It genuinely reduces the number of blocked pores and leaves the complexion of my skin so even! I always trust dermalogica products and have used their special cleansing gel for a while now. This product perfectly compliments this cleanser, my skin has never looked better, my skin is much clearer and softer than usual. I definitely recommend the product if you can afford it. I would have given it 5 stars but the price lets it down slightly so i'll give it 4.
Before this product was introduced my top male fragrance was Paco Rabanne: One Million, I would always buy it for my boyfriend because I just loved the scent it is so musky and sexy compared to others. So when this female version was released I just could not wait to get my hands on it!! I was so hyped up about this product, and it did not let me down! Firstly, the packaging itself is gorgeous, it's in a gold shiny bottle in an irregular shape. It looks great on my dressing room table. The price of the product is about average for high end perfume and ranges from about £35 - £55 depending on what size you buy and where. The smell itself is so enticeing with a musky scent. It has a lovely feminine smell, but there are hints of the male fragrance in there (which is great!). I get so many compliments when wearing the fragrance and it is one of the few perfumes which seems to last on my skin all day. It is perfect for both night and day, summer and winter, I absolutely love it and wear it so much! Definitely one of my top beauty products!
This is my go-to toothpaste for lovely white teeth. I tend to use this product before nights out because it really does make teeth extra white. I don't use it as my everyday toothpaste because I don't feel it particularly helps to clean my mouth, teeth & gums, but only makes them whiter (also I don't think it is made for that purpose). I do like the packaging. It comes in a small transparent tub containing the bright blue toothpaste. However I don't feel that you get much product in one tub and I think it runs out quite quickly, so I always wait until it is on offer (which is quite frequently in boots/superdrug). When applying the toothpaste I find that you need quite a large sized dollop on your toothpaste to feel as though it is actually doing anything to your teeth. Once you get a foam going in your mouth it's great, it has a minty taste (like most toothpastes) but id say it is slightly sweeter and once you rinse out your mouth you are left with a bright white smile! Whenever I have used this product before nights out I look at photos the day afterwards and can't believe how white my teeth are. The effects are not permanent and will probably last a night. This is a temporary whitening tool and does not claim to whiten teeth permanently. I would definitely recommend this product as it makes teeth so white after use! However I give it 3 stars because you don't get much toothpaste in one tube and you need to use quite a bit on your toothpaste for it to have any effect.
What can I say, I love Sudocrem!! This is one of my staple health & beauty products! Although I am 23 and not a baby (before I started to use it I thought it was only for baby nappy rash - I was so wrong) I find that it frequently comes in useful. I'll list some of the reasons why I use / have used this product: - Big red acne spots - Great for soothing red inflamed spots. Works especially well if you apply lots before you go to bed, when you wake up in the morning the spot size will be significantly reduced. - Eczma / dry skin - I slap it on dry patches including elbows, arms, legs - anywhere really. The product can be rubbed into the dry area to reduce itching and flakiness. - Shaving rash - works very well at soothing the itchiness and redness of shaving rash. - Cuts / Scratches / Blisters - Insect bites - Heat lumps I use this product so much. I'm really glad a travel sized version has been introduced because you never know when it might come in handy. The creme is so multi-purpose, ideal for family use and for those with sensitive skin. The product has quite a distinctive smell, it doesn't smell like other antiseptic treatments, but most would associate it with a 'baby' (slightly talc powder) smell because of course it is predominantly used for nappy rash. Also this creme is so cheap, you can get a massive tub for about £3 and it will last ages. I only have one negative, if you use the creme for spots like I do, only apply at night because the product just does not rub in properly and you will even wake up with white patches on your face! Don't do what I do, forget and answer the door to the postman :)
I have used this product for about 5 years. Olay have changed the packaging a few times but other than that the actual product has stayed the same. It promises to give the skin a 'healthy glow' and it certainly does this. I love the creme because it doubles up as my daily moisturiser as well as a facial makeup primer. This product works very well as a light moisturiser and I think it suits oily/combination skin best. As someone with acne prone skin I need a daily moisturiser (with SPF) without it making my face look/feel greasy. This product is great because it doesn't make my skin feel greasy at all but it makes my skin feel nourished. I wouldn't recommend the cream for someone with very dry skin as it has a very light consistency and probably wont work well enough. The item also works brilliantly as a makeup base primer. After applying the cream to my face my foundation just glides on so easily, I don't even have to wear as much foundation as I would otherwise wear because it makes my skin look great. It helps to make my foundation look flawless, I actually couldn't apply my base properly nowadays if I wasn't wearing this product. Now, onto its illuminating effect. This product is amazing! It gives a healthy subtle glow without making skin look too shiny, I would call it a 'dewy' look. I find that if I ever forget to use the cream my face looks dull and pale. I don't need to use a highlighter/illuminating makeup product after i've used Olay as i'm already 'glowing'. What's great about this product is that you only need about a pea sized amount to cover the face so the tube lasts a long time. Although it does seem expensive for such a small tube, it will last. The smell of the product reminds me of summer....it's not fruity or floral in any way (more chemically fresh...if you can call that a smell - im not good at describing smells) but it is quite nice. Overall great product, it does exactly as it says on the packaging and I couldn't live without it. Only negatives are, I don't think it would work well on drier skin & I prefered the old packaging with the lid (easier to pop in handbag), so I give it 4 stars.
I have used this bronzer daily for about 1 year..and I still haven't had to repurchase. I still have loads left, the bronzer literally lasts FOREVER. It cost me about £6.99 so I can definitely say it was value for money. Firstly i'll start with the packaging. I think it looks so cute (shaped like it is chocolate pieces), I also love the front cover which protects the bronzing product, it fastens magnetically. It's quite a large makeup piece in comparison to other of my blushes/bronzers so you'll need a bit of space in your makeup bag for it to fit. I didn't even know that the bronzer was supposed to smell like chocolate until I saw other reviews, therefore I can say that NO it definitely does not smell of choc....it smells powdery & of chemicals, no different to other bronzers on the market. (it is stupid for Bourjois to even suggest it smells of choc...to be honest I wouldn't want my face to smell of chocolate anyway, how weird!). I find that this bronzer is very buildable. If I want an all over tanned face i'll use a light dose of the bronzer all over using a large powder brush, then just add blusher to the cheeks. If I want to look like I have bronzed contoured cheeks this bronzer also works well, i'll use a contouring brush (E.L.F) to sweep the bronzer across my cheek bones and i'll add a few layers by sweeping more bronzer using the same brush. The product leaves a nice matte brown colour (not orange). If you add too much the bronzer ends up looking too brown and can make your face look dirty. Overall I would definitely recommend this product, it is worth the money. It's very versatile as it allows you to build upon its colour, I will repurchase when (and if) I run out.
I purchased this gradual tan to use in between the days I use my usual self tanning product (fakebake). This product does not have the wet biscuit smell like most others (ahem....johnsons) nor does it stain the hands like others. I use dove after I get out of the shower of an evening, I wouldn't recommend using it for morning use (unless you have time) because you have to wait until the product has dried before putting on clothes. The next day I wake up with a lovely olive glow (not orange) it also helps to prolong my usual tan as well as moisterising my skin. I also use the tan on its own in winter months (without using another tan) and this also leaves me looking healthy and tanned without drying out my skin or leaving me with patches. I would recommend you to exfoliate once a week to make sure your tan doesn't streak or fade off your skin looking patchy. The product does not leave you with orange feet or hands like most other tanning products. The gradual tan also lasts FOREVER, I have had mine for a good 3 months and still have about half left, and I use it ALOT. It is definitely value for money. The packaging is also quite nice and summery, coming in a pale yellowy gold colour. I would highly recommend this product over any other gradual tan moisteriser I have used. I am a big fan of Dove, their products always deliver at such cheap prices.
I was recommended this new pantene range by someone who writes a beauty blog which I regularly read. (I have also reviewed the shampoo if you want to check it out). I was more dubious about using the conditioner in this range than the shampoo, as I found it hard to believe that a conditioner could give such a light effect on the hair whilst nourishing it. Nevertheless I gave it a try. Firstly the product is so cheap and can basically be bought anywhere (supermarkets, pharmacies) BONUS! I managed to get it using my boots points (yay), but it costs about £2.50 for the smaller size product which is what I got. The packaging is also quite nice and would look nice in the bathroom along with the shampoo. After using the conditioner my hair not only felt light but also nourished and smooth. This kind of conditioner probably works best if you have greasy hair, if your looking for a product which wont weigh your hair down. I currently have dry hair (after dying it way too much), and although it worked well as a daily conditioner I feel the additional need to using an intensive conditioner once a week. I can hardly fault this product as it does exactly as it says on the packaging, it leaves hair feeling very light but also healthy and shiny when used frequently. My hair smells so clean and fresh after use. I would recommend and would definitely repurchase.
Now, I bought this upon a recommendation from a beauty blog which I read. I managed to buy it using my boots points (yay) but even so it is really cheap at about £2.50. I wanted a shampoo which would make my hair look fresh and healthy without weighing it down. Now I was quite dubious at first because I have quite fine hair with a fringe, so I didn't want it to become too 'flyaway' so that I was unable to style it. Firstly I approve of the packaging as it would look quite nice in the bathroom, secondly it has a nice smell (smells very fresh and clean - as a shampoo should smell like IMO). The actual product works very well for my hair. From the moment I used it I loved it, I let my hair dry naturally after using it and for once doesn't look like a frizzy birds nest when dry... I admit that I still have to use my straighteners/curlers on it afterwards to make myself look groomed, but my hair is much more manageable after washing with this shampoo. Once I style my hair as normal my hair looks and smells so healthy and yes very LIGHT, I feel like I have Jennifer Aniston hair (lol) the way it swishes about without making it look too fine. The only negative I can think of is that this is a shampoo which is so heavily made up of chemicals, if you have a sensitive scalp you may not wish to try it. I have only used the product about 5 times, and I will keep using it if it continues to have the 'aqua light' effect. I recommend this shampoo!! 5*
I bought this product after seeing a raving review for moistured summer skin. Firstly I just have to say if you want a moisteriser, don't get this product, there are better products out there. This oil is good for that shiny shimmery summer skin if you have your legs/chest on show or looks good when trying to enhance an existing tan. The reason I say it's not good at moisterising is because it doesn't feel it, the product does not sink into the skin and seems to lie on top of it. It's quite shiny and sticky. A little of this product goes a long way, so it lasts a long time. I'd say you need a pea sized blob if you were to moisterise a full leg otherwise you will be left looking greasy. I love the smell of the oil it's cocoa butter so reminds me of holidays and summer skin, and I also like the packaging. I probably wouldn't buy this product again, it's quite over priced for what it is, I paid £4.99, I would just stick to normal baby body oil which gives the same effect. I use the product to enhance my tan by making my skin look shimmery in the summer. I wouldn't recommend it as a moisteriser. For this reason I am only giving the product 2 stars.
I have used quite a few lip balms in the past 6 months. I have just completed a course of roaccutane tablets for my skin which make my lips extremely dry. I have only just purchased this balm based on raving reviews and I have to say i'm not that impressed. It is a minty beeswax lipbalm in a small yellow tube. I find when putting the product on my lips it is quite hard and rougher than others to apply, I would prefer a softer balm which is easier to put it on. I like the minty smell of the product and tingly feeling once applied as if the product is doing something. Another negative is that the balm does not last very long, maybe about 1 hour max, which isn't enough if you suffer from dry lips. I like that it comes in a tube rather than a tub and it is easier to apply than having to dip your finger in and making your hands sticky. This product works well as a primer for lipstick but not particularly as an intensive lip balm. The only problem is the actual product, Carmex is 100x better and is actually effective at reducing dry skin. The balm is better than cheap lip balms such as chapstick, but there are better out there.
I bought the travel size version of this product in boots. I was going away for the weekend and didn't want to take a big bottle. Although I had never tried this hairspray before I was mainly drawn to it due to the sticker on the front which said '9 out of 10 Cosmopolitan readers recommend!', so I thought i'd give it a try. I have a fringe which always needs to be styled and sprayed into place, my main issue is the weather which always blows my fringe around and makes it look messy. The night I first wore the hairspray it was quite rainy and windy, so I thought it would be a good test. When I first used the hairspray I was very pleased with it, I sprayed my fringe into place and also sprayed onto my brush to smooth down my flyaway hairs, this worked fabulously. The hairspray not only adds volume to a style and slicks a style into place it also smooths hair. Once I headed out into the horrible weather the hairspray was great at keeping my fringe in place, it did not blow around at all. Definitely works better than my boots brand hairspray which I usually use, all night my fringe stayed in place (and I didn't have to use much product on it). The only problem I found throughout the night was that my fringe did not look smooth, it looked as if I had product on it and quite dry. The product claims to have 5 vital benefit: 1)All day hold - This I believe to be true, the hold of the hairspray is fantastic. 2)Weather Protection - Also true, the rain and wind had no affect on the styling of my fringe. 3)Ultrafine Fast-drying Spray - True but the majority of hairsprays do this. 4)Healthy shine - True initially and when put on the ends of my hair but definitely untrue in terms of my fringe. I think if you only use a tiny amount this deems to be true. 5)UV filter - Can't really comment Overall I do like the product, I would purchase it again but would probably only use on particularly bad weather days where I need extra hold. I also like the packaging and smell of the product. I believe it deserves 4 stars as it does what it says on the can.
I bought this product as a cheaper version of the big branded tans which I usually use as I was on a budget. I must say I love the product! It gives a very natural looking tan, not orange at all. It is supposed to be a build up tan whereby you apply another layer the following day if you want to enhance the colour....this however would use up the whole bottle if you wanted a very dark tan so i'd stick to another brand if that's what you want. When I was actually applying the tan I hated it!! I don't know if I got a faulty bottle but it was so hard to spray, it sounds weird but it really hurt my fingers and muscle in my forearm because you had to press the button quite hard for any to come out. Also when spraying the tan you can't see any colour, it comes out clear, so you can't see where you need to apply the product. Unlike other tans though it is not messy which makes a change, usually i'm cleaning the bathroom thoroughly after i've used a tan. This left no nasty residue in my shower or clothes / bedsheets. The tan does smell very biscuity until it is washed off the next day so I wouldn't advise this product if you don't like this. Also like with most tans be careful when spraying on your hands and feet and they tend to go more orangy/brown than the rest of the body. I applied the tan on thursday, it is now sunday, I still have a tanned glow and i'm not patchy at all. That's 4 days of a good tan, I will probably reapply it tonight! I'm quite happy with the effects of the product as many other brands leave me patchy after a few showers, this one doesn't. The bottle is quite small for the £12 I paid for it, so I think it might be worth paying a little extra and buying a better branded tan such as fakebake as you get a big bottle for only a few more ££.
This product is great value for money. I always wear fake eyelashes and just have to wear them if I go on a night out. I bought a few other items from ELF so I thought i'd try these lashes, why not at only £1.50!! To be honest they do not look natural and they are supposed to be the natural lash kit (i'd like to see the larger ones), they still look fake, but I usually wear big lashes anyway so this did not bother me. I had to trim these down when I used them as they were too long for my eyes (but I usually do this anyway with most brands). I didn't like the glue as it didn't really work well in keeping them in place, so I used a stronger eyelash glue which I used from another brand which worked well. Despite these drawbacks, once the eyelashes were on they looked fantastic. They looked just as good as other big brands which i'd used in the past....MAC and Eyelure. The lashes stayed on all night (probably due to the other branded glue which I used though), and I got comments about how long my lashes looked (maybe they did look natural then). I used the eyelashes 3 times before I needed to replace them but will probably last longer if you don't put makeup on them (which I did). I will definitely purchase more, such a great price!!
This has been my go to foundation for a few years. I have acne scarring and red patches, which this product seems to easily cover up, it also lasts all day without needing touch ups. The product has a neutral smell, it's not sticky at all, gives a matte effect and you don't need a large amount to cover your face. I must say I do not like the brush on the end AT ALL. These gimmicky products I feel are just unhygeinic. What's wrong with using your clean fingers or a separate brush/sponge that you can easily wash, I hate the way the foundation can be pushed through the brush, just not something that appeals to me at all. I also hate the fact that it comes in a glass bottle, it makes it much harder to use all of the product when you start running out...forcing you to buy a new one. When Loreal used to have plastic foundation bottles I would cut the packaging with scissors to use the remaining product making it last much longer. This is impossible to do with the glass bottle...there isn't much product in there in the first place so if you use it everyday you will run out very quickly. It is overpriced as a high street brand, costing about £12 especially considering the amount of product you get. I have given the product 3 stars based on the actual product itself! I do like the foundation because it is very long lasting and manages to cover my scarring. However, the packaging and price do let it down, loreal should have just left their foundation how it was 5 years ago!! much better and more reasonable priced.
