Sainsbury's part bake baguettes are excellent value for money. I was put off by the basic packaging and wouldn't normally buy this product but did when the more expensive range was out of stock. Since then i have continued to save money by purchasing this item and it has become my preferred choice. They are well over half the price of the next cheapest alternative and offer a great taste, I couldn't tell the difference.
The baguettes come packaged in a basic clear tough plastic wrapper, with a simple orange basic label. Not the most eye catching design, but this is probably where money is saved, and what makes the product such a good buy.
The baguettes cook in less than ten minutes and provide lovely fresh bread great for a quick lunch. With part baked bread there is the opportunity to cook the bread how you like it. Therefore if you want it more well done just leave in the oven for longer. I like that the outside of the bread is crunchy and crusty but the inside remains fluffy. The baguettes are also great to serve up with bacon at breakfast and can be used as a bread roll alternative with soup. There is no need to eat both baguettes at the same time, because they can be frozen easily and simply cooked for a longer period to defrost. The baguettes also are good enough to eat on their own, warm out of the oven with butter.
Another thing I like to cook with these baguettes is a simple and quick pizza. There is no need to pre cook the baguettes, simply cut them in half lengthways. Then add tomato puree and herbs, your choice of topping (i like mushrooms) and a sprinkling of cheese. Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes and hey presto a quick and easy evening meal if served with salad.
It is also very easy to use this product along with garlic and butter to create garlic bread.
Overall in the tough economic climate I think this product is an inexpensive luxury. With a starter at a dinner party no one will know these are basic! The only basic thing about them is the packaging, a good way to save the pennies.
Before I purchased my Apple MacBook Air I was dubious of whether I would be able to get to grips with a different operating system having been used to Microsoft Windows, but I had lusted after the sleek stylish lightweight design of the Air. A trip to the Apple store proved very useful and allowed me to try out the laptop. The operating system is very different but easy enough to get used to. I am also impressed that windows an easily be installed onto the laptop so you can have the best of both worlds. This laptop really is a great size for transporting, it;s small and light and turns on in an instant, much quicker than PC alternatives. The battery life of the laptop is also very good and will last a whole day. Another aspect i like is the reasonable discount off the product by being in education whether that be as a student or teacher. Overall if you want something that looks good, can transport and is a little bit different I don't think you will be disappointed.
