As described by Lush, Angels on Bare Skin is the Lush version of an expensive medieval skincare recipe. I first tried this product a year ago and has since become one of only a handfull of products I can not live without. Those of you who know me will know how much Irate this product as I love trying new products so for me to stick with just one for so long speaks volumes!
Angels on bare skin can be purchased from Lush stores or via the website and costs £5.50 at the time of writing. The face wash comes in a little black pot similar to the other black pots lush's products come in which all you other lush addicts out there will be familure with. The cleanser contains rose oil and lavender oil which are well known for being great for your skin, allong with other ingredients listed on the pot itself and also on the website, or for anyone who's interested they are as follows...
Ground Almond (Prunus dulcis), Glycerine, Kaolin, Water (Aqua), Lavender Oil (Lavandula angustifolia), Rose Absolute (Rosa damascena), Chamomile Oil (Anthemis nobilis), Tagetes Oil (Tagetes minuta), Benzoin Resinoid (Styrax benzoin), Lavender Flowers (Lavandula angustifolia), *Limonene, *Linalool}
*Occurs naturally in essential oils
The face wash is unusual in that its consistency is not what you would expect, rather than being in liquid form or gel form as you would probably expect, the cleanser is solid. Upon opening the pot you are instantly met with a beautiful scent of lavender with undertones of rose, The cleanser is folled as pictured above and put into the pot sideways so you see a spiral of it when you open the lid and sometimes it has the lavender buds throughout the mixture as pictured above, or sometimes it is simply sprinkled on the top.
The immage shown above is fairly accurate as to the appearance of the product but of course as the products are natural products the colour can sometimes vary a bit and can sometimes be a pale grey and other times can be more of a greeny/grey. No mater the appearence though the product always worksthe same.
Directions for use of the product are written briefly on top of the lid and state you should take a pea sized amount and mix it with a little bit of water in the palm of your hand to create "almond milk". I always use a small pea sized amount and two small drops of water and this is sufficient for a paste which is not too runny and is easy to cover your whole face in and massage arround to cleanse and exfoliate with the gently gritty mixture.
The wash feels fantastic on your skin as it is gently and the scent is lovely first thing on a morning to wake you up, but at the same time it is relaxing to use before bed as it is lavender so great for using twice a day. I usually massage the mixture into my skin for around 30-50 seconds and then rinse off, immediately my skin feels softer, cleaner and amazingly smooth. It is never left tight, over dried of agravated and this is an amazing acheivement as my skin is terrible because of treatement I have for a medical condition I live with. After first using this product after only two weeks I did not have a single spot or blemish for the first time in years and people commented my skin was glowing, and have commented to do so ever since. This is the only face wash I will now use and wish I had found it sooner because I think I must have tried every product boots has to offer before finding this amazing product. I have been using this for a year and 4months and it still does the same amazing job it did the first time and would recommend it to anyone with problem skin to at least give it a try. If thisis not the product for you then lush have a whole range of skincare products and the assistants are very helpfull and will help you choose the right one for your needs if you can pop into a store.
When I first bought a pot of this I thought it was expensive for such a small pot, however a little goes a long way and I use this twice a day every day and the pot lasts me 4 or 5 weeks every time so it really works out really good value, especially compared to the other very expensive products I tried before this without success!
It is also worth noting that if you return five clean pots to a lush store they will give you one of there fresh face masks for free, these normally retail between 5-7 pounds each so this is a great offer so definately worth while hanging onto your empty pots and returning then for recycling, not only are you doing your bit for the environment, you get an extra fab lush treat for free to try (I highly recomment Love Lettuce face mask if anyone is interested!).
The results have been amazing for me and I would recommend this without a doubt. After trying so many products without any luck for so long this has done wonders for my confidence and its such a nice product to use I look forward to having lovely feeling skin after using it each and every time.
I have been a fan of the John Frieda range for a long time, however they are quite pricey at around the £5 mark for each of the shampoo/conditioner tubes. These can often be found on special at Boots and also Asda at three tubes of shampoo, conditioner or a mix of all three for £10. I tend to stock up when they are on special, and whilst that does mean forking out £20 or £30 in one go, you make a big saving in the long run.
The John Frieda range is a premium range and this is the reason for the hefty price tag. The tubes are sleek and smart and the look good on the bathroom shelf. The brunette range comes in a brown tube, the blonde range in a gold tube and the red in a red tube. I have chocolate brown coloured hair which is long (well below the shoulder) and straight.
I have been using this shampoo for over two years now and prior to that I used only Lush's shampoo bars. When I first used the shampoo the difference in the condition and shine to my hair was immediate, I used it in conjunction with the conditioner (which I will review at a later date) and have done so ever since.
The shampoo itself is an irridescent brown and is easily dispensed from the flip top lid of the tube. The thickness and consistency of the shampoo means that you dont loose as much of it by it running through your hands as you do with some shampoos of a thinner consistency. The shampoo lathers brilliantly and you only need a small amount to get a rich lather, I use an ammount the size of a 50p peice for my longer than shoulder length hair so the shampoo lasts me around two weeks and I wash my hair once every day without fail.
After washing I rinse and the product rinses easily and my hair immediately feels softer as the water runs through it rinsing all of the shampoo suds out of my hair even before using the conditioner the difference is apparent.
I follow with the conditioner and leave that on for a couple of minutes and then wrap my hair in a hot towel. After towel drying I am very surprised at how easily my paddle brush glides through my damp hair. The smell of the product is still lingering pleasently in my hair. The smell is difficult to describe, the only thing I can say about it is that it smells soft and luxurious, It is one of those scents you have to smell for yourself, however I think it is a scent that will suit pretty much anyone and you would probably have to be very picky to be overly offended by it!
Once my hair is dry the scent is still present and even hours after drying I still get whiffs of the shampoo when my hair moves and a couple of times other people have commented on the smell, not just my boyfriend who cant get enough of the smell and always smells my hair when he cuddles me, for that reason I always feel it is important to me for my hair to smell nice.
My hair is straight and i rarely straighten it so it is in good condition and usually has quite a good shine to it anyway but after using this shampoo the shine is much more vibrant and my hair looks and feels sleek and soft.
This shampoo makes my hair feel fantastic and really boosts my confidence, I often run my fingers through it after brushing because it feels so soft and lovely. Since starting to use this shampoo I have converted my mam to it as she also has brunette hair and she cant get enough of it either. This is a top quality product and it is worth every penny because the results are amazing, I shant be changing to another brand any time soon, however I do use a lush shampoo bar once a week for a change and so that i dotn get too much product buildup from using the same product constantly, but even when using a lush shampoo bar I always follow it with my John Frieda conditioner.
I recently needed to change my horses feed as he is not worked and with the snow he has been stabled a lot of the time and he is prone to being a little "strong willed" and he didnt need anything making him even more fizzy.
My supplier where I get my other feeds and supplements from (chaff/garlic etc) recomended I try baileys economy mix plus which is intended for horses who are not worked or those who are in light work. She used the feed for her veteran horse who was used as a light hack only two or three times a week and she said that he has been great on this feed.
I paid £7.99 for a 20kg bag which is a good deal as this bag will last a few weeks when mixed with chaff.
The bag is a strong paper but when opened it tears easlily and this can be a problem if you lift the heavy bag to move it once the bag is opened, as i found when mine tore completely down the side, but this wasnt a problem as i keep my feeds in feed bins anyway so i just popped it straight into the feed bin and dsposed of the bag.
Before disposing of the bag i made a note of the nutritional contentof the mix, this is as follows...
DIGESTIBLE ENERGY 10MJ/kg
The feed stays nice and fresh smelling when kept in a lockale feed bin and when opened you get the fresm smell of the mix every time. The mix is completely dry with no oils in it and also no oats so as not to encourage fizzy behaviour.
It was then time for the taste test, now my welsh cob is not a picky fellow, he will eat almost anything so for him to turn up his nose to this food would be very bad.
I scooped out one scoop of the feed and mixed it in with two scoops of chaff (dengie hi-fi lite, as he is a native and a good doer so i have to watch what he gets) as well as his daily carrot slices and apple segments mixed in. I put the food in and he ate it straight away without so much as a sniff first and three weeks later he is still eating the same mix with as much enthusiam as the first time.
His condition has not changed whilst being fed this mix, however he has only been on it for three weeks so it may be too soo to say so I will update this review in a couple of months to let you know if there has been any change either positive or negative.
I beleive that this feed is excelent value fo money and that it is a perfect, affordable feed for retired/veteran horses or horses and ponies in light work.
For those of you who are not aware, the Pandora jewelry collection are very well known for there pandora bracelets, as well as there other stunning peices. Now although the braceletts are very popular and fashionable at the moment, they are not so new as you may initially think. This excerpt from the pandora official website gives some background to the bracelet.
"1999 saw the launch of PANDORA's ever-popular charm bracelet on the Danish market. Consumers quickly embraced the concept, and PANDORA grew hand in hand with the increase in demand. In foreign markets, interest in selling PANDORA jewellery has also been keen, turning PANDORA into a global brand that is currently sold in 18 countries. PANDORA has gone from a two-man business 25 years ago, to a team of 35 at its head office in Copenhagen, and 1,000 workers at PANDORA Productions, its factory in Thailand."
The website for those of you who are interested can be found at www.pandora-jewelry.com/UK. You can purchase the bracelet and also the charms etc from the site as well as from jewelers who stock the pandora collection.
I was bought my pandora bracelet by my boyfriend for my 23rd birthday, allong with a strawberry charm (because we have went strawberry picking in the summer every year for the 6 years we have been togeter) and a little dog charm (I hand reared a RSPCA puppy from 12 hours old when his mother was to thin to lactate for her litter, and still have him to this day, so this charm represents him).
The idea with theese braceletts is that each one is unique, everyone will choose theire own combination of charms and each one could have a special meaning and a story behind it that makes this a wonderfull gift and also very romantic because of the concept beind it.
The bracelet can be purchased in both gold and silver and also in two designs, one with a bead clasp whereby the clasp looks like another charm, or the one I have which is a claw clasp, just like you get on most necklaces. The claw clasp also has a little dangly silver disk with the pandora logo on it, which is very pretty.
The bracelet is split into three sections, a middle section, with two screw threaded parts either side which the charms twist over like screwing a nut onto a bolt, and then can sit in the middle section, of they can sit either side of the middle sections. You can buy "clips" to go over theese two screw sections which mean that you can customise your bracelet further by choosing how many charms to have in each section and theese clips stop them from moving from section to section whilst still allowing them to move freely within the section they should be in.
You have a lot of choice for your bracelet when it comes to filling it. Avaialble are hundreds of different charms, stunning glass beads, the affore mentioned clips, spacers, and also charms with dangly charms on them. As you would expect charms are also available with stones and gems in them, obviously theese are more expensive than charms without, but they are well worth investing in as they really do mae your bracelet really stand out and the stones sparkle when they catch the light.
The pandora bracelets themselves come in both silver and gold and as I mentioned before, both silver and gold come in the two designes, the claw clasp, and the bead clasp. The prices are as follows when purchased at Kings jewelers, however I am sure prices vary from stockist to stockist so theese prices should be used as a rough guideline only.
Silver with claw clasp £50
Silver with bead clasp £60
Gold with claw clasp £260
Silver with claw clasp £320
Charms range from £20+ for the silver
Spacers range from £12 for the silver
Clips start at £30 for the silver
Glass beads start from £25
I am unsure of the prices for the gold charms/spacers/clips as I have not purchased any, I am keeping my bracelet completely silver, with the exception of three glass beads, one in each sction. The bracelet oce boughtcan be built as slowly or as quickly as you like. Some choose to bu a charm every pay day, others, like me like to receive them as gifts from special occasions so that each one has a story. I love this as my bracelet really makes me smile when I remember the meaning behind a charm.
On my bracelet so far I have...
Strawberry charm - from boyfriend for my 23rd
Dog Charm - from boyfriend for my 23rd
Green glass charms - Chosen because I have green eyes so like to wear green accessories and often green eyeshadow on nights out so wanted my bracelet to match
Sun burst pattern clips x2 - bought theese myself so that I could arrange my charms how I wanted them
Rabbit charm - Iv rehomed over 60 rescue and RSPCA rabbits and guineapigs in the last 8 years (I work with animals, Im a veterinary nurse)
Breast cancer dangly charm with pink stones/crystals - bought for my by my friend beause he knows its a charity I like to support and a percentage from the sale of this charm goes to the charity
Hedgehog charm - Bought for my by my brother for my birthday, again because of all the injured and orphaned hedgehogs iv nursed over the years
Swirl pattern spacer - Bought for my by my aunt for my birthday
Charm with a dark blue pearl dangly - present from grandad & nana for my birthday
The bracelets really are too pretty to describe and you really do have to see them for yourself to see how becatiful they really are. Once you see them, i guarantee you will fall in love with them and will want one. They are an excelent way of expressing your individuality and they look stunning for wearing on a night out of for a special event, whilst still being suitable for everyday wearing. Mine never leaves my wrist, and im sure yours wont either!!!
I heard about this product after reading an article online and after hearing it was oil free and that it it designed for teenage skin (im 23 but have oily skin) I decided it was worth a try. It can be found either online at the website www.amieskincare.com allong with the other products in the range, or it can be picked up from boots for £3.99 for a 75ml tube. This is much cheaper than my usual brand for which I usually pay £4.99 for 50ml of the product.
The packaging is pretty and the product is a pale yellow which can be seen through the clear packaging. The brand name is Amie and this is written on the tube in pale blue girly writing. The product is called morning dew and promises "the softest, dewiest shine free skin"
As the product description on the website states "Morning Dew is a really light daily moisturiser that's totally mineral oil-free and parabens-free. Quickly and easily absorbed into the skin, it gives skin all the hydration it needs while controlling shine and leaving a smooth, matte finish that's a perfect base for make-up or facing the day or night 'au naturel"
It also claims, and rightly so that even if you have greasy skin you still need to moisturise your skin to keep it soft and supple.
As this range is designed for young skin it is also ideal for problem skin, and although the product is designed for teenagers the packaging does not look childish and looks pretty on the bathroom shelf, or in my case on my dressing table.
I am on a bit of a lush product kick at the moment and am now on the lookout for products containing natural ingrediants, the morning dew moisturiser contains 90.8% natural ingredients, which made this an even more tempting offer to me.
Upon using the product you are greeted with a very faint but clean smell, which is almost sweet. The fragrance does not linger on the skin after use, but I have found this is the case with most facial moisturisers.
The product is not thick but at the same time not runny, it is easy to squeeze a small amount out of the tube onto finger tips and spread it over your face, you only need a tiny amount, so this product will last for ages.
I used this product after my lush tea tree water toner and imediately after using the moisturiser my skin felt fresk and cool. I also noticed that my ski imediately felt matte and was not greasy at all.
I have been using this product morning and night and have found that it leaves my skin matte and fresh and this feeling lasts all day. It does not feel greasy to the touch in the slightest and this feeling lasts for at least six hours. My sin feels soft and smooth and supple after using this and even my other half noticed the difference.
I am looking forward to trying more of the products from this line and if they are as good as this moisturiser then they are set to be a very successfull range. I am giving this four stars as the only let down is that the range is only available online or in Boots stores which might make is difficult for some people to obtain.
Upon a recent visit to lush I decided to try the baby face solid cleanser after reading many positive reviews, each one telling how great the product is. Now I have problem skin, which is caused by a medical problem and is hormonal, so im constantly looking for new products to try to help ease theese symptoms. And witht hat in mind i would never give a bad review because a product did not clear my skin completely, as I would not expect miricals!!!
This little cleanser was in a bowl of other identical bars in the lush store near the other cleansers they sell. The bars vary from a very pale cream, to a darker cream. This is due to the fact that the products are hand made and the ingredients are completely natural so due to natural variability this cause the product colour to be ever so slightly different, but this of course does not make any difference as to how well this product works.
I popped one of the bars into one of the little yellow bags which lush provide and took it to the till allong with my many other purchases. The lady at the counted stuck a label on the little paper bag and asked me if I had used the product before. I had not so I was glad of the advice she gave. This is one of the good things about the staff in Lush stores, they aslway are happy to explain about a product and also demonstrate how to use it. They are also very knowledgeable as to the ingredients and also the specifcs of the products. No matter how busy the store is they are always happy to help at the store I visit in the Metro Centre, Gateshead, although im sure as with all shops this can vary from store to store.
The lady explained that to use the cleanser you simply wet your face with tepid water, and then rub the bar in your hands, the heat from your hands will cause the cleanser bar to start to melt. Once you have enough of the product on your hands you massage it into your face and neck. once you have done this you use wet cotton wool pads to wipe away the product, and follow with your usual toner to remove any excess product left behind, and hey presto, your done.
So that night after getting home I was eager to try my little bar out. I wet my face and then opened the little paper bag. Unlike other lush products which usualy have strong smells, this bar is very subtle and has a clean, creamy, gentle smell to it. I massaged the bar in my hands for 30seconds or so and the bar almost immediately started to met, leaving the product on my hands. I popped the bar back into the bad and started to massage the bar over my face and also over my eyes and into my eyelashes to remove my mascara. Lush state that this cleanser is ultra effective at removing all traces of makeup. Mascara is the only makeup I wear so I am not sure how well it removes other makeup, but it was excelent at removing all traces of mascars from my lashes and did not leave me with the panda eyes which some eye makeup removers do. The cleanser is very gentle and does not sting when rubbing into the eye area and over lashes and has a slightly oily feel on your skin. After massaging the cleanser into my face for around two minutes I decided it was now time to remove the cleanser. I dipped a cotton wool pad into a sink full of clean water and wiped this over my skin adn removed the cleanser. It took four cotton wool pads to remove all traces and then for good measure I used a fifth to use to pay more attention to removing it from around my eyes and eye lashes.
After using this cleanser there is a slightly greasy feel to the skin, but sfter using my lush t-tree water toner this left over cleanser is completely removed and my skin feels soft and smooth and not at all tight. Despite this not leaving my skin feeling dry I still follow it with my usual Biore moisturiser.
My skin felt great all day and did not become oily at all during the day after using this cleanser and my skin was so soft that I couldnt resist touching my face. My fiance also commented on how nice my skin felt when he gave me a kiss whilst cuddles up watching TV. And if he noticed something like that then it must be noticeable!!!
One thing I would mention incase this is a problem for anyone, is that the cleanser does not leave any lingering scent on your skin after use. This does not bother me int he slightest, but I know that some may like nice smelling cleansers. The cleanser does not leave any sort of fragrance on your skin at all after use, however this does not bother me as I always use toner after cleansing so this would take away any scent remaining on my skin after use anyway.
Lush say that each smiling bar has four different natural plant butters in it to remove dirt and put back moisture. And id say that this description is spot on. The cleanser might not stand out as much as the other lush products and is easily overlooked because of how plain it is in comparison to the other brightly coloured, beautifully coloured, strong smelling and sometimes glittery products found in the Lush stores. I would highly recommend that anyone with problem or dry skin should try this cleanser and that they will definately be glad that they did.
The bar costs £3.87 at the moment and I have been using this bar 3-4 times per week for 5 weeks now and its not even half used, so its great value for money as well as being an excelent product. This has already lasted much longer than my Biore cleanser and was over £1 cheaper to purchase, what a bargain!!!
I have been a fan of lush for 11 years now and the only place i could ever get them would be when my gran and grandad went on one of their regular trips to london to see a show and she would bring me back a bag of bath bombs
Since then lush shops have sprung up everywhere and there is one 5mins drive from where i work, so i often venture down in ym lunch hour and end up spending much more than i intended to, but its always worth it!
On my most recent visit I was feeling a little sory for myself and to cheer myself up i decided to treat myself and went overboard, spending over £40 on a large selection of products including bath bombs, soaps, bubble bars, temple balm, intensive conditioner, body powder, solid cleanser, melting massage bars, toner and lip balm!!! I will be revewing each of theese products as I try them out, but today I will be starting with the pretty pink "Rock star soap bar".
I bought a pre cut chunk weighing just over 120g for £2.80, as any lush visitor will know, you buy your soaps in chunks which are cut away from a large block and you pay for the item by weight, so even thoguth the price is listed as per 100g, you often get a chunk which is a bit smaller or a bit larger and the price is adjusted accordingly.
If you are in a hurry they often have pre cut chunks which are ready wrapped in the wax paper and labeled and the weight marked on them which you can just pick up and pay for and go. This is something I have never done however as once im in the shop I end up wandering around smelling all the gorgeous, yummy products and more often than not I leave with a lot more than I went in for in the first place. However for those of you with willpower then im sure theese pre cut chunks are greatly convenient.
Lush soaps seem to dissapear quicker than other soap brands, which I think is due to the palm free base they now use allong with the fact that all ingredients are natural. So to avoid my chunk from dissapearing I cut off a 2cm slice from my rectangular chunk and put it into a soap dish to use up and store the rest in my underware drawer as I have found this leaves your clothes smelling gorgeous.
Out of all the lush soaps this one is probably one of the more plain looking out of the bunch, however, I am ashamed to admit that what initially drew me to it was the fact that it was pink. Apparently despite the fact that im almost 23 years old I seem to still think that I am some kind of pink glitter fairy!! oh well!! The soap is advertised as having white soap stars inside of the chunk, and sure enough when I cut my slice off I came accross half of a pretty white star, which is a nice touch to this bar. The rest of the soap is a creamy pink.
The fragrence of this soap is marshmallowy, sweet and vanillary all at the same time. It smells good enough to eat!! When the soap is wet, the smell becomes even more intense and t lingers on your skin for hours afetr use and you keep getting smells of it throughout the day.
The lather from this soap is quite good, however does not get as creamy as traditional soaps, but the gorgeous smell more than makes up for that. I tend to use this soap in the shower and massage it into a body puff and this gets a great lather going and you get the added bonus of getting some exfoliation as you wash. This soap is not at all drying, I have problems using traditional soap to wash with and only ever use moisturing shower gels, but I never have any problems with lush soaps.
I do not use the soaps on my face though as I have problem skin and have to be carefull what I use on it, im sure that this soap would be fine but im just not willing to take a chance and stick to my other lush products which are for my skin type.
I would recommend this soap to anyone who likes sweet smelling soaps and who like pretty pink things for teir bathroom. I would recommend smelling this soap in the shop before you buy it, although im sure I dont need to say this as most people smell everything in lush regardless of wether they buy it or not.
One final thing I will add is that the bathroom smells fantastic when this little soap is left sitting in the soap dish and so it makes a fantastic bathroom fragarance.
This is yet another lush product that will be on my regular list!!!
*****UPDATE: I have been told recently that lush do not recommend using their soaps on your face unless they state otherwise. I just thought I should include this info.*****
I have been a fan of Biore products since 2007 when i discovered the moisturiser. The products are all around the £5 mark which is quite reasonable compared to other big names which are available. The products from the range which I have tried are the moisturiser, shine control clay mask, deep clensing pore strips, and the most recent being the pore unclogging scrub.
I have to say I am very impressed with the effect this has had on my skin, I have oily skin on my forehead and my nose and often get spots here. The moisturiser which I use daily helps to control this all day and my skin remains matt, however I still get the odd spot here and there.
So there I was in boots, which is one of the few places I usually find the range buying my next bottle of moisturiser when I saw this new addition. My usual daily scrub is £3.99 so paying £4.99 for this brand which I trust was neither here nor there.
That night I went off to get ready for bed and took off my makeup. I decided now was as good a time as any to try out my new scrub. The packaging is simple and clear and allows you to see the product inside. The product is a pale mint green with tiny darker green beeds in, obviouslt theese do the scrubbing!!!
I opened the cap and squeezed out a small amount after wetting my face. The product looks pearly when its out of the tube and the small beads are plentiful. After massaging the product into my face I could feel the beads working away although it was not at all rough like a lot of other scrubs. I did wory that ebcause it did not feel as rough that it just wouldnt do its job, but I was wrong.
The fragrence of the scrub is light and fresh and does not smell of chemicals at all. After a couple of minutes of this scrubbing I splashed m face with warm water. The wash rinses away without any difficulty and when I patted my pace dry It did not feel tight at all. Although I still used my biore moisturiser immediatley after.
My skin looked matte and fresh all day and I would recommend this to anyone with problem or oily skin.
After running out of asdas own fresh orange juice on a sunday night and wanting another vodka and orange i headed off to the co-op.
I came accross this juice in the fridge and was drawn to the unusual shaped bottle and picked it up for a closer look. the juice looked bright orange and the bits had settled on the bottom of the bottle making the juice look, well, juicy!!!
i picked up two bottled of this juice as it did not look as though there would be as much in this bottle as there would have been if i had opted for a larger carton of pure orange juice.
so off i headed home, for the purposes of this reiew i first tried this juice without the vodka in it to give an accurate review of the acutal product and not just of it when used as a mixer. although a good mixer it does make!!!
the bottles had been shook up a bit from being carried home however some bits still remained settled on the bottom, so i gave the bottle a good shake and tipped it into a glass over ice and threw in a straw for good measure.
The juice tasted sweet and you dont get that bitter after-taste that you get with some other brands which i thought was great. The juice did have bits in it but still remained smooth and easy to drink and upon reading the bottle i learned that it contained one of your 5 a day recomended fruit/veg in a 150ml serving and also counts as a good helping of your RDA of vitamin C.
I would definately buy this again and i would recommend it for any use, either as a mixer, a breakfast juice or just for any time of the day.
after not getting much sleep last night i thought i would give this a try, i went to the petrol station to fill up my car and saw this can in the fridge with the red bull, and seing that it was only 79p for a bigger can than the red bull can i thought id give it a go. and now i wish i hadnt!!!
The product tastes a little like irn bru but is even more fizzy, which makes it unpleasant to drink and elaves you feeling bloated and uncomfortable.
I dont think that i felt any more awake after drinking it at all, although there was no chance of me falling asleep when i was so bloated by all the damn bubbles!!!
The product leaves you bloated, feeling thirsty and has a nasty aftertaste which refuses to go away, not at all pleasant. Id rather have a plain simple cup of coffee every time.
My advise would be to avoid it like the plague, the only good thing about the product was the nice blue and orange can, but that in itself would not give me reason to buy it ever again, unless i wanted a makeshift paper weight and would never consider opening the can!!!
After receiving a £5 off voucher i thought i would give this product a go, at £10 for 100ml i would not normally have bought this product but with the £5 voucher i thought i would give it a go.
The product was purchased from boots and was not with the skincare products, it was with the cosmetics, which i thought was a little strange.
The packaging is not very eye catching at all and the box is a pale blue. the tube inside is a white plastic plain tube with gold and black writing on.
When i got home i thought i would give it a try, so i pinned back my hair and went off to the bathroom and filled the sink with warm water. I opened the tube and half expected some false, over perfumed scent to hit me, but instead there was nothing, so i decided to investigate further, a little bit too far as i ended up with the product on my nose!!! oh well. the smell is very mild, and upon reading the package i discovered it is fragrence free and hypo allergenic.
I squeezed a little of the product onto my hand and noticed it did not have larger gritty bits like all other exfoliators i have tried. I rubber the product onto my face and massaged all areas of my face for a minute, the tiny granules felt a little bit like sugar granules in cream and felt quite nice on my skin. after rubbing it in for a minute i washed off the product with warm water, and my skin felt FANTASTIC. I patted it dry with a warm towel and noticed immediatley that my skin looked brighter and fresher. The product had taken away any dullness and my skin felt so soft to the touch. I finished off with some moisturiser (biore moisturiser to be specific) and the feeling lasted all day long, i could not stop touching my face.
I have been using the product for a month now every 3 or 4 days and my face feels so much smoother, my skin is clearer and brighter. I will definately be buying this item again at full price.
As you only need to use a small amount the product lasts for ages and with whats left in the tube i would estimate that one tube will last 2 months when used every 3-5 days, maybe longer!!!
A fantastic buy, i would definately recommend giving it a go!!
I stumbles across the internet cashback's site just by chance and i am glad i did. It was just before Christmas and it was the offer of a free £10 joining offer, so i signed up, and instantly my account was credited with the promised ten pounds, signing up only takes two minutes and you simple have to fill out a brief form. The site is simple to use and you simply search what your looking for, from travel money, to car insurance, to flowers and everyday shopping. They have cash back offers for pretty much everything. what also impressed me was that they also offer cash back for eBay purchases, which was great for me because i use eBay on a regular basis. the way you use the site is simple, you brows for the offer you want, click on it, and you are then taken to that shop or services website, you then make your purchases as normal and its as simple as that. a couple of days after you purchase your item online, the cashback will show up in your account with the status pending. as soon as the site on which you made the purchase informs internet cashback that you did so, your cashback will change status to approved. the downside is that you need to have fifty pound in cashback before you can claim it, which i initially thought was quite a high number, but after just doing my Christmas shopping and setting up my car insurance via this site, i now have almost eighty pound in cashback. this is a fantastic site and i would recommend it to anyone. give it a try and you will be surprised at how quickly the cashback mounts up!!!
January has rolled around again, and as if this month is not depressing enough as it is, my insurance was due. I was putting of the usual trawling through insurers websites and filling in my details time and time again only to be given extortionate quotes which I would not be taking up. Time was ticking away and i realised that i was going to have to get it out of the way sooner or later, and this was when a friend mentioned swift cover. I had never heard of them myself but as he told me about them and how they are an online only company i was quite impressed. he also told me that the quote they gave him was nearly one hundred pounds cheaper than any of the other companies had offered. so i decided to give them a try.
the website is very simple and straight forward to use, with a large bright orange link on the screen for "new car insurance quote". i will also mention that swift cover do both pet and home insurance, however i have not purchased either of these products. once you have clicked on the like for a new quote, you are taken to a page which takes your personal details such as name, address, number of years license helled etc. I expected this to be one of many pages, but to my surprise it was not, i was taken to one more page which requested my vheicle details. and then the next page gave me my quote. the reason i was given my quote so quickly was that the site "assumes" a few things about yourself, which speeds up the time it takes to obtain your quote. however if any of these assumptions are not valid for yourself then you can amend them accordingly and your quote will be recalculated. the assumptions the site makes are as follows...
You are the only driver
You or your spouse or partner is the owner and registered keeper
Your annual mileage is 10,000
Your car is kept overnight on the driveway
Your car is worth less than £30,000
Your car is fitted only with the manufacturer's standard security
Your car has not been modified
Your car is used for Social, Domestic, Pleasure & Commuting
You need comprehensive cover
This saved me a lot of time, and once i had amended the assumptions to let them know that my car was kept in a garage over night, my quote dropped in price a little, which was fantastic.
another thing which i found good about the site was that it gives you the option to use a drop down menu to change your voluntary excess and this automatically re-calculates your quote so that you can see all the details on one page which helps you decide which option is best for you.
once i was happy with my quote i went on to purchase the insurance. this was simply another form for your card details and then stating if you wish to pay monthly or in one go. i was then taken to my online account area, which let me view all of my policy information. i was send an email detailing my login and password for this policy holder area for future reference which would allow me to log in and amend my policy as i need to.
the final thing which impressed me with swift cover was that i could simply email them over my proof of no claims instead of having to post it off to them, so all in all what i was expecting to be the usual time consuming task of finding and sorting out my new policy, turned out to be a thirty minute job, fantastic. anyone who is looking for a new insurance company, i highly recommend swift cover!!
I used to work for Triple A pet resort in boldon and we boarded RSPCA dogs, and the sad fact was that the majorit yof perspective owners that would come to view the dogs in need of home wanted puppies, or young dogs, some even went as far as to specify the breed, sex and color of dog they wanted. which i found quite upsetting as it was as though these people did not realise that this wasnt a "shop" and if they wanted a specific breed and color then they were probably in the wrong place. most of the dogs up for homing were from bad backgrounds or had been found wandering as strays and unfortunately were never claimed.
My parents and I had recently had to have our 14year old german shepherd put down as his back end completely gave way and there was nothing morethat could be done for him, we were devastated and the house seemed empty and our other remaining german shepherd who was 8 year old was missing his companion. about 2 months after this a 7 year old german shepherd came into the centre, she was bald, thin and had been used as a breeding machine. we decided to take her hme as soon as she was well enough, she had to have treatment for her skin and neededfeeding up. depsite her bad past she had such a good nature, her long fur grew back gradually but not completely over her whole body.
she needed to have regular vet visits over a year to get her back to good health. our other dog took to her straight away and they became inseperable.
if we had taken home a puppy i think that he would have been worn out by it and also maybe have felt a bit pushed out.
it was so rewarding to see her gain her weight again and her hair grow back, and she was such a loyal girl. Unfortunately after just 3 years after taking her home she collapsed and had a fit, we took her straight to the vets who did test after test and suggested epilepsy etc. eventually they foundout that she had leukemia and after 2 weeks of being diagnosed she became so ill and the fitting became frequent she needed to be put to sleep.
This would not put me off getting an older dog, its one of the most rewarding things i ever did and given the chance id do it over again.
i think that it is such a shame that older dogs can sit in a rehoming centre for months if not years without being given a chance, when a lot of the time it makes more sense to take home an older dog than to take home a puppy and to ahve to house train it etc. pleanty of people want puppies, give an older dog a chance and you will be glad you did.
The only makeup i wear is mascara, and so i always stock up on eyemakeup remover so that i dont end up looking like a panda when i wash ym face as i dont find that soap and water removes mascara all that well.
I use simples light moisturising lotion and am very impressed with it so when i saw this eyemakeup remover, also in the same "simple" range, i decided to give it a go.
The bottle is plain and simple, it is mostly white and has a green lid and green wriging on it. the bottle us 125ml and only cost £3.25, with the bottle being quite big it should last quite a while.
at the end of the day i used my facewash as usual and was left with my "panda eyes" so i went for my bottle of eye makeup remover, i put a small ammount onto a cotton wool pad and wiped it over my eyes, even with just one sweep it removes the majority of makeup left behind.
The creme is thick and white and creamy. you dont need to use much for it to work effectively, and if is also fragrance free, which is perfect for sensitive skin.
The makeup remover works great even without first washing your face, and all makeup can be removed using just the cream.
This is a great product and works better than a lot of other eye makeup removers i have tried in the past, it also leaves your skin feeling soft which is a nice added bonus.
