I started being a massive fan of the Kopparberg pear cider, I then decided to live a little and try the mixed fruit and I have not looked back since!
Kopparberg cider orginates in Sweden and comes in a light green 500ml bottle. You can buy this cider from most pubs, and a lot of supermarkets too now. This cider is very fruits and tastes great, you almost forget that is it alcohol for a short while and have to remind yourself that it is 4%.
Kopparberg is a very sweet cider in general, with this particular one containing fruit, it does make it that bit sweeter. The cider smells wonderful, definately fruity and it quite fizzy. It tastes wonderful and after one sip it does leave you wanting another taste.
One thing that is not great about this Mixed fruit kopparberg is the price. at around £4.00 a bottle (£3.00 if you're lucky!) it is quite expensive. If you have a good look arounf your supermarket though you can usually find offers on such as 2 for £5.00.
This is possibly my favourite drink at the minute but I am looking forward to trying some new flavours from the Kopparberg range.
Not many people like ironing, especially me. So anything to make ironing a little bit easier is great! I was recently bought this iron as a gift when I moved into my new home. I have seen this being sold in Tesco before for over £100.00 so it was a pretty generous gift. I would never have spent such money on an iron but after using this for a few weeks I can see why people love it and spend so much money on it.
The iron heats up very quickly, and heats the water up too. The water tank holds 1100ml of water which is fab if you are doing a huge pile of ironing as it means you do not need to keep refilling the water tank. The iron comes with a tank which it rests on, that is quite heavy, however, the actual iron is very light in weight.
As with most irons it is a simple case of fill with water - plug in and go. The iron seems to glide over clothes really well, int he past I have had to push down very hard to get rid of creases, and after feeling how light this iron actually is I thought that I would have to do the same thing. I was wrong!
Another great feature on this iron is that you can adjust the rate in which the steam comes out!
Overall I would give this iron 10/10 it is fast at heating up and quick at removing creases. Great timesaver!
I recently went on a trip travelling around europe, taking only a backpack for luggage in needed to really consider what items I was going to take with me. I took some walking boot, some pumps, & flip flops, but I wanted some soft comfy shoes to wear on the beach and in the sea, something that I could strap on and would not slip off.
I found these soft jelly sandles in Tesco for only £4.00 - I instantly decided that they were perfect.
They have a flat comfy sole with a little bit of grip, there is a strap that keeps the shoe attatched to your foot, and a toe post, which unlike some other sandles did not rub.
These shoes were light to wear and carry, they were comfy and waterproof. I could wear them in the sea without the worry of them slipping off or loosing them. I was travelling for over 5 weeks and wore these shoes about 50% of the time. I still have them now and they are still wearable. Great item from Tesco!
I bought the Rimmel Clear Complexion Concealer about 8 months ago, and will not be using it again> I paid around £2.00 for this concealer - cheap I know and I am a true believer in you get what you pay for, however, this concealer hides nothing!
As with a lot of concealers these days, this cover stick comes in a lipstick tube. I bought the concealer in 'Ivory' from Boots. I found the product very waxy and quite thick - but not in a good way. Once I had applied it to my face I had great difficulty in blending into my skin, and even when I rubbed it in the blend, it just came off and concealed nothing. I tried to moisturise my skin first to see if that would help with the blending, but no. I even tried blending it in with some foundation but the same thing happened.
The texture of the concealer is quite greasy which is why I think it rubs off when you try to blend. I have used different concealers from Rimmel before which have been much more effective than this concealer. I do not recommened it and I will not be using it again.
Priced at £39.99 both my mother and my other half thought that I was crazy for buying this Cupcake maker.. but I love it!
Packaged in a cardboard box the cupcake maker come with a small recipe book to give you ideas on how to make cupcakes, an instruction manual also comes with it. The cupcake make is a decent size but fairly heavy. I found that is works a little bit like my toastie maker, you plug it in and wait for it to heat up, a green light shows on the front when it is ready. There is also a red light on at all times just to indicate that the maker is on. Once the green light is on you can put your bun cases into the eight cupcake holders at the bottom and then pour in your mixture as per the recipe you follow. you then close the lid - there is a ligght latch to fasten it shut.
I have used this cupcake maker a fair few times now and I am really happy with the way my cupcakes turn out. The maker is easy to clean, and doesnt make too much mess.
I think this is a great product and safes you time and mess when making cupcakes.
I love pink grapefruit anyway, so im sure you can imagine my delight at finding this little product lurking in The Body Shop..
The Body Shop pink grapefruit bath and shower gel is amazing, It is a little pricey at £5.85 for a 250ml bottle, however I don't mind spending this amount as I love it so much.
The gel comes in a clear plastic bottle with a flip top lid. Like most Body Shop products it has their logo on the label along with full directions and ingredients. The shower gel is pink and smells amazing. It is a thick texture and speads well so that you do need need to use too much. It lathers up really well too and leaves your skin feeling soft, smooth and overall great. Quite a lot of shower gels seem to leave my skin feeling tight however the Body Shop shower gel does not.
Although you can get Body Shop shower and bath gel in different flavours I think that this is my favourite so far. I have had the bottle for 1 month now with still a fair bit left. I love it!
I have always used a normal toothbrush until I met my partner. He has been using an electric toothbrush since he was 15!
After he sold the idea to me I decided to given and electric toothbrush a go, I bought this Oral B toothbrush from Tesco for around £50.00 - although you can now get hold of it much cheaper!
The toothbrush comes in a well packaged cardboard box, once opened you can see the brush is wrapped up and well packaged inside. Inside the box was the handle, the charger and two brush heads. I put the toothbrush on charge and left it for the recommended 17 hours. The plug that comes with it is for a shaving plug socket - which is great for me as it means I can leave it on charge in the bathroom, it may be a problem if you want to charge it somewhere else though you would need to use and adaptor.
Using the toothbrush is easy, I didn't need to read the manual. There is a button on the front of the toothbrush which starts it off. I foudn using this brush very easy, it was so much easier than brushing your teeth with a manual brush and I seemed to take a bit longer brushing them - which is obviously a good thing! All you need to do is hover the brush head over your teeth, the fast moving brushes do the rest of the work. I have had this toothbush a while now and have only just changed over onto a new brush head - I have been looking on the internet and there are different shapes and styles of brush heads avaliable to buy.
I love this purchase and will never to back to a manual brush!
I have been using Rimmel make up since I can remember, on of my favourite products from this great beauty brand is their Volume Flash mascara. I buy this mascara from Boots for £5.99 which is a great price for a good quality mascara. The main reason I choose this mascara out of the whole Rimmel range is because it is waterproof.
This mascara comes in blue tube with the Rimmel logo on the side. Most of the Rimmel mascara tubes are the same 'pointy' shape.
I use the black version of this mascara but you can get brown and other colours. I have quite long eyelashes anyway but I do like them to look longer and much thicker and this mascara gives me the desired effect. Once you have unscrewed the brush from the tube you can see that there brush is quite thick which is great as I feel this stops lumps and clumps on your eyelashes. The brush is sturdy too so you dont have to worry about it bending.
This mascara gives me the desired effect that I want from my eyelashes. It is waterproof so does not smear of your face gets wet, however is can be easily removed with eye make up remover. Overall I would give this product 10/10 and will continue to used it.
Although this is a mans aftershave, I love it. My boyfriend has been wearing this now for around 6 months - and sometimes I cannot help but use a little bit of it myself! I recently bought him a new bottle as a gift, for a 200ml bottle it cost me around £55.00 from Boots. The aftershave comes in a gold bottle, which basically looks like a gold bar. It has the Paco Rabanne logo on the from along with the name One Million.
The scent of this after shave is gorgeous! As first I think that is smells quite woody, but one the strong 'first spray' has worn off the after shave becomes a little bit spicy, and once you use some of this, the smell seems to last all day. I find it tend to stay better on clothing rather than directly on skin - it lasts longer.
Overall I have nothing bad to say about this aftershave, it is a little pricey, however no more expensive than any other Paco Rabanne perfumes or aftershaves. I think that it is well worth the money and I love the smell of it on both me and my boyfriend. So if you have not given this a go yet, I recommend it.
Barry M never fail to amaze me, I have not found a product of theirs that I have not liked or enjoyed every minute of, and this is the latest!
I saw this Barry M nail effect in Boots. At the moment it is avaliable in four different colours, blue, black, white and pink all for £3.99. My first choice was the white one as I had seen it on my friends toe nails over some pink nail polish and it looked fab.
The purspose of this product is to give your nails a 'cracked effect' so to so this you need to paint your nails with a normal nail varnish first, this will be your base colour. One you have painted your nails with this and left it to dry you paint one coat of the Barry M nail effects (not too much though!) Within about 20 seconds the cracked effect starts allowing the base coat to show through. - My nails looked great!
I decided to have a go on my toe nails, this time I used the base colour of brown, and used the black Barry M nail effects on top - so I had what looked like leopard print nails - I loved it!
Overall this is a great product, so far I have the black and white nail effects but I am hoping that Barry M release some more colours soon. I would recommened this great beauty item - it looks fab, lasts just as long as my usual nail varnish (about 2 weeks before it starts looking untidy) and you can make some fab original designs. Well done Barry M!
I love changing my hair colour, which is an expensive hobby! I started to dye my hair from home using this Schwarzkopf Live Color..
This product is applied like most other home hair dyes, applied onto dry hair the dye is spread evenly and left on for 20 - 30 minutes. In the box with the hair dye comes a pair of plastic gloves to stop your hands getting dyed and some conditioner to keep your hair moisturised after it has been dyed.
After washing off the dye, shampooing, conditioning and drying my hair I found my hair to feel very dry and a little bit frizzy - the colour however was great.
2 - 3 weeks later the colour seemed to have faded and rather than being cyber purple - it was more of a red colour which I did not like. I re-dyed it with the same hair dye and yet again found my hair to be very dry.
I conditioned my hair lots and tryed to keep it well maintained but evenutally I have had to stop using this product as it was ruining my hair - it seemed to be getting thinner.
I will not use Schwarzkopf hair dye products again..
No women likes unwanted hair and honestly it can been a real pain to maintain a soft hair free body which is why I opt for waxing. I cannot afford to go to the beauticians every 6 weeks to have a full body wax which is why I wax myself at home.
I have always used Veet wax strips, however I decided to try some cheaper wax strips to see if they worked just as well.. every penny counts and all that!
Twenty mini wax strips come in this package for about £2.00 from asos.com - much cheaper than the Veet strips I buy from boots. I picked these cheaper ones as they are for sensitive skin and the packaging stood out and looked quite appealing to me. The small strips come with cold blue wax and are 'stuck together' like most other wax strips on the market.
You rub the strips between your hands to warm up the wax and peal the strips away. You then apply the strips to the area you want to wax and pull them off against the growth of your hair. I started with my bikini line - just around the edges. The strips worked ok on longer hairs but anything shorter did not wax off. The Veet strips worked much better on some of the shorter hairs on my body.
I also noticed that some of the wax remained on my body and I had to use the other side of the strip to get it off - which left my skin a little blotchy.
I wouldnt use these strips again as they are just not as effective and it seemed to take much longer to wax.
I love make up an beauty products. I especially love anything that smalls of coco butter. After using Palmers coco butter body moisturiser for years I decided to give the lip balm a go. I tend to get dry and chapped lips in the winter - as you may know if you have read my chapstick review. During the summer months I like to keep my lips looking healthy and also prevent against sun damage.
The lip balm is avaliable from most supermarkets and cosmetics stores, I bought mine from Boots for £1.49 - a little bit more expensive than the chapstick lipbalms.
Compared to other lip balms this one seems to be a little bit more 'waxy' rather than 'oily' - It is a thicker coating that stays on your lips once applied you can tell its there and gives your lips a healthy shine. The lip balm has an SPF of 15 - which I think is great as I am very aware of sun damage and like to protect myself where possible.
I tend to use this product more during the summer as it seems to be better at keeping my lips soft and moisturised (and protected from the sun) rather than stopping them chapping - chapstick works better during the cold winter months.
I would recommened this product as a good SPF product for your lips. Plus it smells GREAT
This suncream is expensive, I paid around £30.00 for 2 100ml bottles of this, however I assure you, it is worth every single penny spent.
The first time I tried this cream was on a holiday a couple of years ago in Turkey. Coming from an Italian family I do not have the palest skin in the world, but I do burn - and with skin cancer rates ever increasing I will never take that chance of burning again.
With an SPF of 50+ many people who would like that golden glow after a holiday would turn their noses up at this. The point is, you can still tan - just without the risk factor. In Turkey I used this every day... you apply it in the morning - leave it so soak in for around half an hour. One the cream has soaked into your skin it is then protecting you for the rest of the day.
This product does not have an unpleasent smell, it does not leave you oily or dry your skin out and it will not stain your clothes. It is oil free and generally good for people who suffer with skin allergies.
I rate this suncream very highly and will be ordering more for my hoilday next year.
I love Lip stick, Lip gloss & Lip balm.. especially the ones that stop my lips chapping during the winter months.. like this Cherry Chapstick..
This Chapstick Lip Balm smells amazing, as soon as you open the Lip Balm container and twist at the bottom to let the lip balm pop out all you can smell is cherry.. and it smells great. Out of all the flavours provided by Chapstick this is definately my favourite. Even once applied you can still smell the cherryness!
This lipbalm works.. it stops my lips from cracking and chapping. It keeps them moisturised and healthy and it also leaves a bit of a tint on my lips which leaves them a nice colour which is fab. The lipbalm tastes nice - not that you would eat it, however, you do not want something that tastes bad on your lips!
This Cherry Chapstick Lip balm is avaliable at most supermarkets, make up stores & chemists and usually costs under £1.00 - a bargain for any make up bag I think and certainly a winter essential!
