If you are a runner, you need the 610

I bought the 610 as my very first Garmin product - getting into running has been one of the best things I have done in terms of fitness and weight loss, but I wanted, naturally, to see how far I was running, how fast I was running, and how my heart was doing.

So I purchased the 610. First thing I noticed is it is very easy to set up - no need for manuals, if you have used a computer, then you can use this with no problem. The screen is touchscreen, whilst not at iPhone standards, it is still very responsive. You can set multiple pages up with various data on screen whilst running, such as lap pace, Heart rate, average times, splits, you can even set up a 'virtual partner' (set up a time and you can race against the watch).

The heart rate monitor strap is well made, the receiver slips off so you can wash the material part.

Garmin also offer a free 1 year warranty, which i have used when the button came off. It took them 1 day to send a brand new replacement out, which i thought was excellent.

If you are a runner or cyclist, and you like to analyse, then this is for you.

A great accessory, especially if you want to highlight notes, annotate or draw.

I bought the Wacom Bamboo slate direct from Amazon to use as a tool to help me draw on the screen (as I present How to videos and compile tutorials for a website).

Once set up (2 minute installation process) you are ready to go. No batteries required, everything is powered through USB. There are a couple of programs that help you get used to the new control system that is within the software, which i would advise you have a play about with.

What I will say, is at first it feels like the most unnatural thing in the world. You need to get used to hovering the stylus over the slate, and then tapping down to select etc. Drawing is also hard...at first. And then once you have mastered the new hand-eye coordination, everything will feel as natural as using a mouse.

This is a fantastic tool, because unbeknown to me at the time, the stylus pen and slate which represents your screen, can also double up as a mouse. Move the pen over the slate, and the mouse moves. Tap the pen on an icon, and the icon opens. I am now at a stage where I feel like I do not want to use my traditional mouse anymore, as the stylus and slate does a much better job.

I know there are other products out there that do the same job, but this seems to do the job that I wanted it to do very well, and all for a very reasonable price.

The best football sim money can buy

I have owned every FIFA game since FIFA 2009, and this one is simply the best.

Sure, the improvements are minor, but what EA are striving to create is the best representation of football that can possibly exist.

The first change I noticed was how the players control the ball. There is now a noticeable difference between, let's say, a lower league player and a premier league player - the premier league player has tighter control, whereas the lower league players tend to knock the ball too far in front of them and loose possession more easily.

Career mode is also much improved. International management is now an option, and the media and player interaction is greater. Overall, a much better representation.

As expected, there are hundreds of teams, all with proper kits, and proper player names.

If you want the most complete football game on the market, then this is it.

You will be 'socially cool', but your music won't sound brilliant.

I bought 'Beats by Dre' headphones back in September from Comet, and I am truly sorry I spent so much money on them.

The headphones themselves are well made, and fit perfectly over my head and ears with the slider adjustment, and they feel very comfortable - they are very light and sometimes I don't even realise I have them on. The actual ear pads swivel slightly as well, so it it fits flush to your ear.

Unfortunately, that is the best part about them. Because the actual sound quality is no better than my £25 Sony headphones, that I decided to get back out of the drawer and continue using. In fact, if anything, they are WORSE. I listen to mainly uplifting dance tunes, and the bass is absolutely awful - so bad that I thought they were faulty, but on trying my friends same headphones, I discovered they were not.

This is a classic case of someone famous cashing in on their name, and putting their name to something in order to sell something - regardless of the quality.

      Really disappointing.

A Family car that runs on a budget

The 1.9 TDI Sport is a superb entry level Audi, offering a fantastic drive in good comfort.

Exterior: Looks absolutely superb. The lighting systems are really great - the standard Daytime Running Lights are halogen, (xenons with LED upwards of £1000 extra). The rear lights are a solid LED, really distinguishing this car from other makes and models. The lowered suspension and front grille also give this Audi a good road presence.

Interior: Well equipped. Small change drawer, 2x cup holders under centre arm rest, privacy compartment under drivers seat, plenty of room also in door trays, arm rest compartment and glove box. Radio with CD player, Driver Information System. Nice touches like chrome sills, but overall it just feels like their is too much plastic in the front cabin. Seats are good, but a little hard.

The drive: Excellent. Handles really well, steering is just about right, and the 1.9 engine ensures you have plenty of punch when needed. Easily gets up to motorway speed in a few seconds.

Space: Good space in the front, and in the boot (with foldable back seats). However, with 3 passengers in the back, it is a little cramped.

Economy: I regularly get 75MPG (shown on the driver display) when travelling to and from work, this includes motorway stretches where I put my foot down to 90mph. It is absolutely excellent. On a full tank (65£ diesel) I can get upwards of 600 miles (when driving carefully, on longer, faster journeys). Around town it easily keeps at around the 50mpg mark.

The tax is also brilliant - £30 for the entire year means I can go and get my tax with a smile on my face, while I grin smugly at the 4x4 driver who is handing over £300 for their road tax.

I have not had a single problem with this car, it is reliable and affordable and in a low insurance bracket for a car that packs a punch when you require it to.

Great smartphone from Samsung that does everything!

First of all - this is a sensational looking mobile phone. We have the white version and it just oozes quality when holding it in your hand. The phone is very, very light, and the back is covered in a special grip texture, meaning it won't slide out of your hand or off slippery surfaces.

The screen: It is just sensational, very clear and very crisp. It is excellent for viewing pictures and watching movies on the go. the colours just seem to pop out of the screen.

The menu system: Easy to navigate, and very easy to customise the way you like it. The widget system allows you to move different content and resize the front screen of the widget exactly to your liking. The Facebook app is excellent as it displays updates in real time without even going into the app. This is the same for news and weather apps and widgets, and a whole host of other apps which is great for a quick glance when you haven't got time to launch the full app.

Google marketplace: You need a Google email account (free to set up) to access the marketplace, which are where all the apps can be downloaded from. thousands of free apps available.

Calls: Really clear, as if the person is standing next to you. Dialling people and calling up contact list is also a breeze.

Setup: I had WIFI connected in just a few seconds, and had my contacts transferred from my sim. Basic instructions included, but more can be found on the Samsung site if needed.

Overall, this is an all singing, all dancing smartphone, which does everything bar make a cup of tea! One of the best out there.

The best tablet money can buy.

Yes, I am an Apple lover. Why am I an Apple lover? Because Apple make the best pieces of hardware that the world has ever seen - and the New iPad is no exception.

This iPad is much thinner and lighter than my other iPads I have owned, which is always a good thing as you may well be holding this for prolonged periods if you are out and about.

The screen is also a lot clearer and crisper making viewing photos, pictures and film an absolute pleasure. The camera has also been given a makeover, giving that extra quality to any pictures you make take (although I can safely say I wouldn't be seen dead holding an iPad up to take a pic - thats what your iPhone is for!)

If you have the money and want to upgrade from the iPad 2 - I would say don't bother, there's not enough change to warrant the upgrade. If you are upgrading from the 1st iPad - go for it. And if you are purchasing a tablet for the first time - then this is the one that fits all your needs.

Essential piece of kit if you are old skool and still have CDs and DVS

If you own a MacBook Air and it hasn't got a disc drive (from late 2008ish) and you still use DVDs and CDs, then the superdrive is an essential piece of kit.

One of the few gripes with MBA's is their lack of disc drive. That's right, in an attempt to make their laptops nearly as thin as credit card, Apple omitted the disc drive in the side. This is easily overcome with all the apps that are available, and with services such as LoveFilm, and if you have an iMac then any software you may have in physical format can be dropped from the drive on your iMac to your MBA wirelessly.

The superdrive is easy to connect up (3 minutes and you are setup), easy to use, runs smoothly and quietly and is super lightweight. It comes with a high quality feel and is very easy on the eye as with all other Apple products, and if you do feel you will need to use physical media with your MBA, then the Superdrive is an essential accessory.

It is a little overpriced for my liking (sub £50 sounds reasonable) but there again this is Apple, and with that comes complete piece of mind about the quality.

If you want to go premium, go MacBook Air.

I have always used Windows based systems in the past, but since going for an iMac recently, I decided to go with a Macbook to compliment my iMac.

All I can say is WOW. These systems beat their Windows counterparts hands down in terms of build quality, functionality and ease of use. So you may be paying a little more than your usual Windows laptop, (well, quite a bit more actually) but the difference in quality, including the excellent operating systems is clear for all to see.

From the backlit keyboard, to the excellent trackpad, everything on this piece of kit screams quality. The system glides easily through multiple applications that are open, and switches seamlessly between them with no slowdown or stuttering (as is the case with Windows).

The App store is a click away, and easily beats windows with its huge range of software and apps to make your life easier and more pleasurable, whether you are using the MBA for business or pleasure.

This is the King of laptops, and if your budget stretches as far as this, then it is a no brainer.
