Several months ago I purhased a Nokia X3 - the sales man in the shop did his job well and sold me the phone. It was cheaper than the latest smart phones, however I was still expecting big things from this phone. How I was let down.
Prior to purchasing this phone I had been using an Alcael phone I purchased for around a fiver. You can imagine how basic this phone was therefore I expected the Nokia to seem like a substantial improvement, however it didn't.
On the face of things it seemed a good handset, for one I was impressed by its looks. Thats where the positives stopped.
The phone itself was painfully slow, and the graphics seemed poor. The Nokia operating system, and menus does not appear to have improved much since I was a 12 year old boy playing snake on my 3310!
The Nokia app market (Ovi Store) is pathetic, and any apps downloaded didnt work without the phone struggling to run them anyway.
On a slightly positive note the battery life seemed good, however this was likely due to the phone been so useless I never used it for anything other than texting.
Over the past few years I had seen myself fall massively behind with mobile phone technology. All of my friends and colleagues seemed to have the lastest smart phones, and I was seriously lagging behind with a dated phone which did little more than text and call. However, I never felt I was missing out.
I saw everyone using their smartphones and apps and I saw them all as nothing more than gimmicks. How I was wrong. Recently I decided it was time to upgrade and I got myself and iPhone. From using my mats phones I got to test drive a range of the competition in the smart phone market and decided the iPhone was the one for me.
I have had the phone around 6 weeks now and am still amazed by what it can do. Everything works so smoothly. Video viewing and game playing is seamless. The range of apps available on the Apple market is impressive and caters to all markets.
Owing to the release of the iPhone4S the iPhone4 is now much more affordable, part of the reason I decided to upgrade, and in my opinion it is definatley a bargain that should be snapped up by all whose contracts are due for renewal or who just want a new phone.
The only negative, as is the case with all smartphones is the poor battery life.
