**** Intorduction **** Here I am goning to review the newest edition to my make up bag. I have recently ran out of blusher so I needed to replace it. I usually buy the blusher from the body shop but after looking in my local Mac cosmetic shop I found this Powder blush and thought I would give it a try. **** The Powder Blush **** This Mac powder blush is basically a blusher that has been compacted into a round conpact container, which contains the blush on the top section and an application bush in a smaller compartment on the underside of the compact container. I personally found the compact ideal as it contains everything i need to give me rosey cheeks on my travels, it also fits nicely into my handbag. I bought this in the rosey pink shade which I find compliments my skin tone perfectly, however you can also get this in a toasted bron shade for darker skin tones. You just apply it to your cheek bones using the applcation brush, I find one coat is enough but you can intensify the colour by added additional coats. For me this cost £6.50 which was a real bargain as the store were offering a discount for students at the week end, Usually this will cost you around the £12.00 mark. **** My Views *** This colour works very well with my skin tone and once it has been applied it looks completely flawless, which is a very big bonus for me. I recommend this to anyone who like to wear a blusher that does not stand out, as you can achieve this look by using one coat. If you do manage to use just the one coat this will last your a very long time. I only own a few Mac make yp items but given my past experience with the brand I am sure I will be buying more in the near future.
I am curently supporting a huge head ache and the thing that caused it was this Hardy's white wine. Some may think this was self inflicted but my arm is easily twisted and the wines tasted so nice it was a good idea at the time. A had a little family get together yesterday evening so wine was a must, after walking the wine selection is adsa I found this Hardy's crest on the buy three for 12.00 offer. this was a brilliant buy as it usually costs 5.49 a bottle. The wine itself is an Australian white wine, which has a crisp taste which is slightly fruity and a bitterish after taste. I would class this as a medium wine which can be consumed with all kinds of meals and it will complement them well. We found that we got three and a half normal 125ml glasses of wine from each bottle, so as you can imagine with the eight of us we managed to drink our way through eleven bottles in no time. This was a lovely wine that went weel with the beef dinner we ate, I would recommend this white wine for dinner parties or to drink on a regular basis. Yes this wine has provided me with a massive hangover, but it was worth it as we all made a brilliant evening.
I have curly hair that is very fuzzy, so when these wide GHD hair straighteners were released in 2007 I just had to get them. I never entertained the normal straightenes as I would take me hours to do it with the thinner irons. These straightenes come with thicker one and a half inch ceramic plates, which are basically used to straighten difficult and thicker hair types. at first I found this very hard to use as they are very bulky but once I perfected holding them they have proved to be perfect. I really like these as they come with a longer length cord which can be plugged in and then pulled half way across the room, so you can move around with out pulling the plug out. These heat up within 30 seconds, so you can really straighten and then go without having to wait. I got my GHD wide plated straighteners from ebay for 89.00 plus 5.95 postage, but you can buy these at hairdressing shops for around a hundres pounds. I really dont know what I would do without my straightners, gone are the days when I used the iron and ironing board.
**** Introduction **** I am not really a chocolate lover, but recently I have had really strong chocolate cravings. Tonight I really fancied a bar of chocolate to accompany a nice hot cup of tea. I was in my local shop and I picked up three kitkats for a pound. **** KitKat **** Kitkats are produced by the Nestle company, these have been around for as long as I can remember and to be honest I have not eaten one in years untill tonight that is. I got a four fingered kitkat bar, which is basically four long thin strips of waffa biscuit that are covered in milk chocolate. These kitkats are easily broken so you can eat them one finger at a time, but in my opinion once you open the chocolate bar up you will eat the whole thing. It came in a bright red foil wrapping which keeps the chocolate nice and fresh. Usually you can expect to pay around forty five pence for a four figer kitkat, but these worked out at roughly 33p as I got them as part of a promotion. **** My Views **** I can really understand why I have not eaten one of these for years as it tasted lovely, the choclate melted in my mouth and I could still have a bit of cruch texture from the inner waffas. This went down lovely with a hot cup of tea and I even found myself dunking it in the tea, as I found this really brough out the chocolates flavour. If like me you have not eaten a kit kat for year then get yourself out and buy one, you will not regret it.
**** Introduction **** With all of the very nice weather last week I got badly burnt by the sun, this resulted in my skin becoming very dry and it peeled really badly. The peeling has been a bug bear and looks so unsightly, that I decided to exfoliate by body from head to toe so that all of the dead skin could be removed. To exfoliate I used this body shop cocoa butter body scrub. **** The Body Shop Scrub **** This body scrub comes from the body shop, who a company that contributes to many world trade programmes round the world. with this product you are supporting the soya oil trade programme which is based in Brazil. This scrub comes in a large 200ml round plastic tub, which is enough scrub for at least eight full body exfoliating sessions. The scrub is the cocoa butter fragrance so it smells, very sweet with a slight hint of chocolate to it. This is very thick cream which contains tiny little specks, which I assume is small pieces of almonds. these little pieces are very hard and are used to scratch away dead skin and polish you body. I found this did hurt a little on the really burnt areas of skin, but after I had finished my skin was glowing and I no longer had bits of skin hanging off of me. **** My Views **** This came as part of a pack which contained a body butter and this scrub, it cost me twenty pounds for both items. you can buy this alone for roughly 12.00 at any body shop. I have never been one to exfoliate my skin but I have to say this was not the pleasantest of experiences, but the end result was fantastic as it really did take away all of the dead skin on my body. After using this I felt refreshed and my skin was visabily much healthier and softer to touch.
**** Introduction **** I refused point blank to get into the Twilight saga, as I didn't find Vampires or teenage love stories remotey interesting. However after purchasing the first Twilight movie on DVD at Asda for the bargain price of £3.00 I soon realised the attraction. After watching the Movie, I decided that I was completely hooked and went on to buy the book to see if it was equally as good. **** Twilight **** Twilight is written by Stephanie Meyer, it is the first book of the four written which are all currently available, to buy. This first book introduces you to Bella Swan as teenage who is up rooted from Pheonix, when her mom remarries and decided to follow her new husband to florida for his new job. Bella moves to the small town of folks, to be with her father Charlie a local police chief. Bella assumes she will still be a bit of a loner and tries to keep her head down untill she meets the Cullens. The Cullens consist of Dr Carlise, Esme, Alice, Jasper, Rosealie, Emmet and lastly Edward. Edward and Bella become very close and fall in love after over coming so major obsticales can they live happily ever after. **** My Views **** I found the book much better than the movie as it captures both bella and Edward perfectly, while reading you get drwn in to each of their lives. The story line flowed perfectly for me and I have to say this first instalment got me well and truly hooked. I have since read all four books and eagerly awaited the fifth, which was a book written from edwards persepective. after this was leaked this book has now been put on hold. I bought the book from Amazon for the bargin price of £3.39, back in Febuary.
**** Introduction **** I have never really been interested in buying odour destroyer sprays in the past, as I have always gone for plug ins, which have always done the job. Being a smoker has it set backs as the smoke smell lingers, this is something I have never really noticed untill I went on holiday for a week. upon returning home we were met by the stale smell of smoke, which as a smoker I have to say was disgusting. We went to re stock the fridge in Tesco and found this Febreze, that is designed to elimiate odours. **** The febreze **** This febreze is relatively new to the market as it is the one that is made up of a long aluminum can with trigger release for the spray itself. I bought the blossom breeze fragrance as I wanted something that would eliminate and over power the stale smoke smell. The scent of the spray is very light but floral at the same time, it is very strong at first but quickly fades into the surrounding areas, while eliminating the nasty smells. I have since used this on my sofa, curtains and ever carpets and it works well everytime, as I no longer have those nasty smells. This cost me £1.50 in total but this was part of a buy teo for £3.00 offer, usually you could expect to pay £1.95 for a 300ml can. **** My Views **** This is a much cheaper option to buying the plug ins, which can be difficult to get refills as they seem to change all of the time. I am very impressed at how nice this smells and that it actually works. I recommend this for smokers of pet owners as it does waht it says on the can. it eliminates nasty smells.
**** Introduction **** Having a big tiled kitchen and two very messy cats, who like to flick litter everywhere floor wipes are a must under my sink. I was sold on the flash floor wipes but after these went up drastically in price I decided to give these much cheaper Asda floor wipes a try. **** The Asda Floor Wipes **** These floor wipes are anti bacterial wipes that ensure they not only clean the floor but they also make it germ free, they come in packs which contain fifty floor wipes. I managed to get these on offer for a pound a packet, which was over a fiftty percent saving on the old flash wipes. So these were a great buy, even at the normal price of £1.29 I will be sticking with this asda brand. These are very thin in comparison to the other wipes and the smell is not a potant, however they do smell nice and fresh and they are thick enough to clean the floor so I am confident I can recommend these wipes to everyone. You can also buy the same asda wipes for Kitchens, Laminate flooring, stainless steel and bathrooms all of which have impressed me no end. **** My Views **** I am very happy with my new buy and I will be sticking with it for as long as they continue to perform for me. I find that they clean the floor perfectly, even clearing the white paw prints from the cats and their litter. I have also been known to used these on my double glazed window sills as the bring them really white and shiney. If you pay more than a pound for your wipes, then I strongly advise you to give these a try.
**** Introduction **** My shower has recently gave up to ghost and I have been washing my hair in the sink every morning, This was not a problem for the first week but since my hair and scalp have been suffering with dandruff. I have never suffered with dandruff before, so buying and anti dandruff shampoo was all new to me. **** Head & Shoulders **** Head and shoulders have been a well known anti dandruff brand for years, so this is the one I auto matically went for. As my hair is short I dont tend to use separate shampoo and conditioners so I opted to buy the two in version of this anti dandruff shampoo. The shampoo came in a 250ml bottle and cost me £1.89 from tesco, which is much cheaper than I expected. The shampoo in very thick and does not lather up very well untill you add water to it, so this is something to remember as you dont need to use as much shapoo as you first think. **** My Views **** After using this for tha last week my dandruff seems to have gone, which is great as I can now retrun to my mormal shampoo. I was not very impressed with the shampoo itself, but I persisted and eventually it did remove all of the dandruff before it got any worse. I recommend this if you have a dandruff problem, as it really did work but it did take time.
**** Introduction **** May friend turned forty this weekend and she organised a roller disco, with ans 80's theme. We all had to attend the party dressed up in 80's gear, which was not as hard to do as I first thought as that seemed to be the current fashion a few months ago. I bought a neon tutu, leggings, leg warmers, fishnet tights and a frankie says relax t-shirt. To finish the look I decided to use my Mac false eye lashes as they were something I had bought a while ago and never used as they were to thick, but perfect for this ocassion. **** The Lashes **** These Mac lashes are very thick and give you a thicker fuller looking set of eyelashes, they are the same thickness you would expect a porn queen to wear, so everyday use of this was never acceptable. You can get these lashes in different densitys so you can get a more natural look for every day use. These are self sticky lashes that are placed just above your natural lashes, I was sceptical about the self sticking lashes as I imagined they would peel straight off. I found that these lasted both the day and night and I really had to tug at them to remove them. The lashes come in their own compact case, which is designed for you to place them back into, therefore you can get several wears out of one set. These lashes cost me 8.50 at the Mac cosmetic shop. **** My Views **** I was very impressed that these actually stayed put all day and night, I have no doubt that this have a fantastic staying power. I have since been online and ordered another set of these Mac lashes in a natural shape and density so I can wear them for any night out. My original lashes still look brand new and they finished off my 80's outfit perfectly. I recomend these lashes although I advise you use a thinner more natural set to start.
**** Introduction **** I held a body shop at home party earilier this year and managed to get myself a load of body shop cosmetics and body butters, These were available to me at a reduced price as I actually held the party. One of the best buys I got was this large 200ml coconut body shimmer, I bought it as it promised to soften and give my skin a shine which it was lacking. **** The Coconut Shimmer Butter **** This coconujt shimmer butter is currently available in two differant sizes, as small 50ml size and a larger 200ml size and they cost £5.00 and £12.00. The butter is very greasy when you first apply it to your skin, however if you do suffer from dry skin it is quickly abosorbed leaving your skin silky smooth. I advise you only use small amounts if you have normal skin as you will end up felling greasy. This cream constains tiny shimmer particals which reflect from your skin giving you a glowing arrearance, you can't actually see the little shiney particals as it looks like any other body shop butter, but after you apply the cream you notice the difference. **** My Views **** This is a very nice butter to give you nice glowin g skin, but I do feel that the other butters from the body shop are more effective when it comes to adding moisture into your sink, as this seemed to lay on the skins surface and not soak in fully where my skin was normal. I recommend this for nthe odd night out but I dont feel it will tick all of the boxes that the regular butters do. I think I got the larger sizr for about £8.00 so I don't feel let down by it, however if I had paid the full price I dont feel I would have been satisfyed.
**** Introduction **** I have started to get really cracked and dry hands recently, I visited the doctor who advised me that this was down to me washing the dishes and not drying my hands correctly. The main area that has been effected has been under my wedding rings, where the skin has become very inflamed and sore. I was advised to removed my rings until my sin healed and use a hand moisturiser every day, so I went and bought myself some Vaseline moisture cream. **** The Vaseline Cream **** The Vasiline Intensive moisture cream is formulated to give your dry skin instand moisture, therefore making them less dry and softer feeling. a small pea size amount of cream is adequate for you to soften both palms, you add the cream to your palms and rub it in untill the cream has been fully abosorbed, this will only take a few seconds to complete. It is recommened that you use the cream daily to get the fully effct of the cream, if your hands are very dry then you may need to apply this a few times each day. The cream comes in a 75ml tube and costs as little as 99p from places like body care and tesco. **** My Views **** I have found this cream to be very effective, it has given my broken skin at the ring areas a protective layer which seem to be halping it heal. my dry hands are now noticabily smoother, however it has taken a few weeks for me to notice the differance. This has worked for me and I am very impressed with the cream and the price I paid so overall this comes recommended by me.
**** Introduction **** I recently had my hair permed, not the poodle looking curls but a nice loose curl. It has been brilliant for my holiday as i didn't need to straighten my hair at all. Now the the curl has grown out fromt he roots area it is starting to look a bit limp and weightless, so I deided to try a hair mousse to see if I could get the height back into my hair. **** Foxy Curls Mousse **** I bought this foxy curls hair mousse from TK MAXX, it was on offer for £3.00 a can which is very cheap as it retails for over £6.00 on the internet and in hairdressers. The foxy curls mousse is producted by the well known company Tigi, it is part of the bed head brand so many of you will know what I am talking about. The mousse itself is very sticky and thick in your hands while you squirt it into your palms, be sure to only use a small amount as it can make the hair very tangled and feel very thick with a noticable product build up. If you work a small amount through your wet hair and style as normal you will find this will give you a nice natural lift, that will last for hours. **** My Views **** I am pleased with this as I bought it on offer however, I really dont think that I would pay full price for it as I am sure you can buy a cheaper brand at a much cheaper price. My hair did look very nice when I used it however I did use to much on ocassions and this resulted in me having to wash my hair all over again, so fo this reason I don't rate it that highly.
**** Introduction **** I have been on a healthy eating diet for the past few months and one thing that really needed to change for me was allowing myself to eat breakfast. Many say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, this was something that I never really took any notice of as I was always to bust to actually sit down and eat a breakfast. However as a start to my healthy eating kick I decided to try a breackfast ceral that I had not eaten in years. **** Kelloggs Coco Pops **** Kellohh's have been making cocopops for as long as I can remember, and I have to say I don't think thay have changed in taste, since eating them as a child. I know these are not the healthiest of breakfast cereals, but I wanted something that I knew I would like so I could get into the swing of actually eating breakfast. The cocopops are made from brown puffed up pieces of rice that are full of chocolate flavour, that crackle once cold milk is poured onto them. The milk turns chocolatey and basically into a chocolate flavoured milkshake in the bowl along with the rice pieces. I would say that these are more appealing to children, but the do taste as doog to adults. I managed to get a huge box of these on offer at asda for £2.00 which was cheap as they do cost more normally. These have helped to start eating breakfast, however I don' think I could eat them all the time as they do become very sickly.
**** Introduction**** I have just started to straighten my hair everyday after a really bad perm that has caused it to go fuzzy, I am reluctant to cut my long hair off so I had to resort to the over straight style to get it to look better. although I am used to straight hair now, I can,t stand the poker straight hair that seems to lay flank and very falt on my head and agaisnt my face. I decided to give this osis dust it a try, as my friend recommended it for adding volume, with out disturbing your straightened hair. **** Osis Dust it **** Dust it is really like a hairspray but in a dust powder form, that adds instant hight and volume to any hair. I just shake a small amount of dust into the sides and back of my head and then push the hair up. This give you instant height and bounce. The product doe's exactly what it says on the bottle, but the texture of you hair afterwards in very bitty and has a cotton wooly feel to it. If you can get past the feel of your hair this is a really good product that seems to last for hours, if my hair went flat it would just tease it back into place, to get the height back. You can expect to pay £12.95 for this dust it and any sally hair and beauty store. I loved that this gave me instant height and it lasted, so for that alone I recommend this powder hairspray.
