My daughter is a mad Disney fan and just like most girls she loves the Disney princesses, so when we seen this doll in our local Disney Store we knew she would love it straight away.
There was a number of choices as this doll is part of the Disney Animators collection so it is one in 15. The other dolls you can get are Ariel, Aurora, Snow White, Cinderella, Mulan, Pocahonas, Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Tiana, Merida, Jasmine, Belle and Tinkerbell. Sometimes they are difficult to find as collectors are very keen to get the ones that are missing however we have found that at Christmas time they have loads in stock and are often on offer for £15 rather than £20.
The doll comes presented in a white box with light purple sketches of the character around the box. It also has a transparent window on the front so you can see the doll.
What I did notice about the packaging is that the doll is very secure in the box. There is the plastic covered ties that secure the arms and legs and there is also ties that go through her head and attached to the box. My daughter is 6 and she had trouble getting the doll out of the box.
Rapunzel stands at 16 inches tall and her hair is 17 inches. Her hair is very soft however it does have hairspray on it to keep it in place whilst in the box, once it has been played with a couple of times it looses its stiffness and it is really soft however does get tangled very quickly and I do find myself brushing her hair when my daughter goes to bed.
Rapunzel comes in a lavender coloured satin dress with a white lace collar and satin purple ribbon detail down the front. She is barefoot as well ( anyone who has watched tangled will know that she doesn't wear shoes). Her face has amazing detailing too. Her eyes are big and green with a "twinkle" in them and her lips look like she has pink lipstick on them. You can see her freckles on her nose too which look very cute.
She also comes with her little chameleon friend, Pascal who is attached to her arm and is made of satin. He is 3 inches long. You can take Pascal off her arm and my daughter likes wearing him on her finger to make him move around and "talk" to Rapunzel.
Rapunzel's arms and legs move at the top joints but like most dolls that is it when it comes to movement which makes dressing and undressing quite difficult for younger children. We bought the doll as a gift set which included an extra dress so we often find that we are helping change Rapunzel all the time.
I think this doll is really well made and great for children. They use their imagination and make the doll come to life.
My little princess is 4 years old and tangled mad, to the point where we watch the film 7 times a day. For christmas we wanted to find as much Rapunzel items for her as possible and we found Colour me pascal whilst shopping in toys r us at £19.99.
Pascal is Rapunzels chameleon friend who is there for her all day whilst she is stuck in her tower and then stays with her whilst she goes on her adventures. He changes colours throughout the film and also changes patterns to blend into different backgrounds.
The colour me Pascal comes in an open front and top box. The 4 different coloured fabric pens are attached to the back part of the box.
The pens come in 4 different colours, red ( excited), blue ( sad ), green ( calm ) and yellow ( happy ). The lids click on when you are finished with each pen so your child knows when the lid is on properly, they just listen for the "click".
The pens are washable, if there are any accidents on clothing or furniture then simply pop it in the washing machine on your normal wash and it comes right out. Of course they are non toxic so there is no panic if your child draws on themselves, it washes right off.
Pasal is 13 inches in length and 6 inches in height and pale green in colour. Hes a plush toy made from polyester fibres. He is soft and squishy so there are no hard bits on the toy. His eyes are sewn in instead of being stuck on so there is no fear of being swallowed. In fact there is nothing that can come off the toy that can be swallowed by accident. the only thing that an come off is the purple ribbon around Pascals neck with a cardboard tag that reads "i love Rapunzel" however you can take that off if you have any fears about it coming off in anyway. Pascals tail is also very curly (like a pig) as my daughter tells me, you are also able to pull it straight and watch it wind back up again.
To wash Pascal after your child has finished decorating him you simply put him inside a pilliowcase and wash separately on a normal cycle. I wash him with the rest of my daughters other doodle bears and doodle animals at 30 degrees on a quick wash and the colours come right out. To dry Pascal you can tumble dry him which i do on occasion however when i can i will air dry him so i do not risk any chance of shrinkage.
i love this plush toy for my daughter. She has spent many many hours colouring different sections and role playing with the toy. She loves dressing up in her wig and Rapunzel dress and running round with pascal on her shoulder, just like Rapunzel does in the movie. The pens so far are doing well, my daughter has used them for the past 3 weeks or so and they are still going strong however other pens from my daughters other doodle bears have been used on pascal and they come straight out again so hopefully we will be able to find replacement pens, when they do run out.

Whilst walking miles around our city centre for christmas presents last year we naturally ended up in the Disney store as our two children adore anything Disney and we came across these figures.
They had a few to choose from including Cars and Phineas and Ferb (which we brought for our son) but the Tangled set seemed perfect for our rapunzel mad daughter.
Originally the set was priced up at £12 however all sets was reduced to £10, not much of a saving however with us buying 3 sets it saved us £6.00. I must admit we thought they were a little over priced for what they are but they have not lacked in quality at all. The figures look identical to the characters in the film and the detailing on the figures is amazing.
They are made from plastic however they have a little flexablity to them. They are all on their own round bases except both rapunzel's and my daughter gets very stressed out with them as they tend to fall over if she plays on the carpet with them, the only ones that dont fall over are the rapunzels due to their hair around the feet giving them a bigger, more stable base.
So the figures that you get in the set are:-
Mother Gothel (Kidnapped Rapunzel and brought her up as her own daughter)
Maximus (Horse who wants to capture Flinn Ryder)
Flinn Ryder ( Raptunzels love)
Vladimir ( all three are pub thugs from the snuggly duckling)
Pascal ( Rapunzels chameleon friend)
My daughter is 4 years old and has played with her figures every day since she opened them on christmas morning and they have been thrown around and stood on and we are yet to see any marks or dents on them. None of the paint has chipped and they still look brand new.
I think these are perfect for your young princess's. They have gone brilliantly with the dolls house we brought our daughter and she has also played with them with her pepper pig rocket. They are small though and at risk of losing them under sofas and bed (like the many times it has happened in our home).
The downfall to these figures are the packaging they come in. The outer packaging is a clear dome with a cardboard bottom however when you remove the outer packaging you see the nightmare to get the figures out of the carboard bottom. They are tied down with the plastic coated metal ties which have to be perfectly straight to get the figures out. If they have any bends in them it is a nightmare trying to get them through the holes. Some of the figures have only one of the ties however the bigger figures such as maximus the horse has 2 crossed ties that have been twisted so many times you dont know where to start. Although once you get past this it is amazing watching your daughter and her imagination making up scenes with Rapunzel in space lol.
Overall i think it is a great buy and would deffinatly recommend.
I discovered Ikeas Tindra tealight candles just over 6 months ago whilst shopping for items for our wedding.
We wanted tealights whilst we have our wedding breakfast and was recommended to try these by a close friend and we was not disapointed with them.
They are the standard size for tealights whih is around 1 and a half inches, however they also sell a larger size which is just over 2 inches.
They come in the silver folder to keep the melting wax from covering any surface you put them on, however i would recommend putting them into a tealight holder to prevent scorching or marking any surface you put them on.
The silver holder is very flimsy and dents very easily so i would recommend looking at all the packets in the store so you can get some without dents or folded edges. Something we had to so we had perfect ones for our wedding.
Now there is 6 different scents which have their own colours so you can spot the scent you want without having to look at all the packaging.
The scents and colour are :-
Green - Apple
Brown - Apple and cinnamon
Red - Red berries
Cream - Vanilla
Pink - Rose
Orange - Tropical
My personal favourite is the Vanilla, they really do smell like ice cream and the scent lasts for hours after they have finished burning which is roughly around 3 hours burning time.
We have tried all the scents and we have found that the Apple ones, although they do have an aroma they are not as strong as the other scents.
We brought the Red berries ones for our wedding venue and they filled the entire room (which was very large) for the entire night and we only had to light 16 candles that was placed on the tables .
The smaller tea lights are sold in packs of 36 tealight, which have 3 different shades of the colour in them although they all smell the same
The larger tealights are sold in packs of 12 and again have 3 different shades of the colour in them.
For 36 small tealights, they are £1.75
for 12 large tealights, they are £2.50
I have never brought any other candles from anywhere else since we have found these. They are strong scented, last a long while whilst burning and the aroma lingers afterwards. They are also very reasonably priced.
The only downfall i have found is that if you burn them in a colder room they do not melt evenly and the sides of the candles are left intact whilst the middle of the candle has burnt away, so i would recommend burning them in a warmer room.
I brought this a few days after giving birth to our daughter, which was 3 years ago and I have noticed that in that in the past 3 years the price hasnt changed much at all.
We had our daughter a week before christmas and with many family gatherings and different people to visit, a breast pump was very handy for us.
I brought it in our local boots store at £19.99 (alot cheaper than some breast pumps they had on the shelves at the time and being a brand name I thought it was a very good price for what you got).
Although the box was very small I was suprised with the amount of things you got in there. It came with the breast pump, 2 bottles plus teats and tops with lids and also a small microwave steriliser, which comes very handy for taking to families homes and sterilising the bottles if you are staying for a long period of time.
The breast pump comes apart for easy cleaning and sterilising which is fantastic as i had a different breast pump when I had my son and it was very hard to get everything clean. You get instructions on how to take the pump apart and clean properly although it was very easy to take apart, you dont really need instructions on how to do it. The instructions also tell you how to use the steriliser for the bottles and pump. I found that with the steriliser the seal around the edge of the lid came loose a couple of times but it simply pops straight back on again and was good as new.
The guard on the pump is very flexable and shapes to your breast as soon as you put it on. On the picture the guard is almost white however mine was clear plastic so you could see if you had it positioned correctly.
the pump works on a trigger so you have to squeeze the handle together to express the milk.
I really liked this pump, it was easy to use and once taken apart it was easy to carry around in the steriliser without being noticable. We was always out of our home a week after my daughter was born, visiting my partners parents and grandparents and my parents so it was so easy to express a bottle before leaving our home and it gave our families the opportunity to feed our daughter and create a bond with her. I was very embarrased about breast feeding in front of family so it took away a little embassasment when we went to my partners parents homes, especially his dad and grandad. It also gave me the chance to catch up on a little sleep at night because my partner had the chance of taking over the night feeds when they got a little too much for me. My daughter never slept at night so it was so nice to be able to pass my partner the bottles and sleep.
I will say that expressing feels nothing like breast feeding at all, it is a little uncomfortable the frst few times you use it however it does get easier the more times you use it. It does hurt alot when you put the pump on wrong, as i found out on the couple of times i did it and i have got to say that it was vry painful.
i would recommend this to parents that want to breast feed but they have busy lives or if they just want a break for a night feed. This was so helpful to us and it was great that i could ask my partner to take the night feeds for me when i was exhausted. The bond i got with my children through breast feeding was amazing, it was great that both me and my children could be apart of something that no one else could be, being able to feed your child from you is magical and with the breast pump my partner and our families could experience this too. A fantasic buy and one i recommend to all my friends
Ive been a smoker for 13 years now and it wasnt until last year that I noticed how much my health has been affected by puffing on those nasty nicotine sticks. I found that I was always out of breath and that i couldnt run around with the children as much as I used to, so after a good sit down with myself and a good talking to I decided to quit.
Im not going to lie, it hasnt worked yet, I did quit for 8 weeks with champix however the stresses of normal everyday life and other things killed my will power and I picked up a cig again. I have since brought the Niquitin Minis from my local Boots chemist as a start to slowly ween myself off a few cigarettes a day and it has worked.
The Niquitin Minis come in a pack of 3 and you can buy them at 2 different strengths depending on how much you smoke. The 4mg is for the more heavy smokers, something I have become in the past few months, going from 10 cigarettes a day to 20+ and the 1.5mg for the lighter smoker. I brought a pack of each thinking I would be able to have the 1.5mg when doing the housework and other activities when i dont need a cigarette, I just want one. The 4mg is for when I feel im going to pull my hair out.
They come in 3 different flavours that i know of, original, mint and cherry and although i havent tried the cherry ones yet, I do feel that the mint one does take a little bit of the awful taste away, something you never notice whilst having a cig but you can with these minis.
They sell at £14.99 at Boots, not cheap but certainly cheaper than a packet of 20 cigarettes everyday. You get 20 lozenges in a tub although your not aloud to take more than 15 per day.
On the back of the tub it tells you that it takes around 10 to 15 minutes for the lozenge to dissolve however i can not suck on the lozenge as it does make me feel a little sick so i simply place it just under my lip next to my gum and move it around every now and again and it takes me nearly an hour for it to disolve.
I found with these lozenges that it took the urge to have a cigarette away, even if it is for a short amount of time. Instead of smoking 20+ a day I have been missing out around 4 to 5 cigarettes a day but it hasnt done anymore than that. I think with a little more help with something else i.e patches, this product will work alot better.
I do have to stress that you do need will power with them, like every other nicotine replacements out there you need the will power for it to work. I have next to no will power at all and I found that if i had a little more this product might work a little better for me but it is a start in the right direction.
If you are thinking of stopping smoking or you do want to stop, give these a try and you might be suprised with how you have got on with them. My friend has smoked for 20 years and has tried a number of times to stop, she picked these up and hasnt gone back to cigarettes again, so it works for some but not for others.
I have to admit that we brought these tables over 3 years ago so since then there is alot more range and the price has gone up too.
We brought these when we decorated our living room and had a new fire and surround fitted. I wanted a small coffee table to match the colour of the wood in the fire surround and my laminate and saw these in our trip to Ikea at £4.99 each. At the time they had light wood, medium wood and dark wood so we chose the medium wood whih is slightly darker than the one pictured above.
To assemble the table it was extreamly easy, you get 4 double ended screws for each leg that you simply screw into the table and them twist the legs on the screw. It stands at 55cm x 55cm and is 45cm high. The table is actually covered in vineer to make it look like wood however it isnt that noticable. We brought 2 for our living room and dressed them with candles and coaster and it looked really pretty.
The only downfall i have found with these tables is that they didnt last very long in our house. Having 2 very young children at the time we were always experiencing spilt drinks on the table and my daughter banging it with her rattles and we found that the vaneer started lifting and bubbling after a few months although for the price we paid for them we wasnt too bothered.
Since we have brought these ikea have brought out extra colours and also a high gloss range so there is alot more to choose from. The price has also gone up since then, from £4.99 to £7.49 (i think) so I think we brought these at the right time.
I would recommend these tables to people as long as you havent got young children to spill drinks and bang them, i think they would last a lot longer and they do give a nice touch to your room. Its very reasonably priced and small enough that it doesnt over power a room.
My hair is very thin and has natural ringlets so I need a strong hair spray to keep my curls sets all day in the style I want but also keep it straight after i have straightened it. It also needs to look light and practially invisable.
I saw this in my loal Boots chemist selling at £2.00 for a 250ml can so thought I would give it a go. If I am honest I thought that it would be really good due to the brand and the recommendation from my friends but it wasnt as good as I first thought.
The packaging is very striking and something you an pick out of your bathroom cupboard very quickly which is handy if you are in a rush. Of course it is an aerosol, like many many other hairsprays so its very easy to use. You simple hold the can around 20cms away from your hair and push the button down to release the product. The can is bright red with a almost white top. Shockwaves is written down the side of the can.
It smells just like any other hairspray to me personally, so i still use it in the bathroom with the window open as it can get on your chest a little bit.
For me the hairspray was heavy compared to some that I have used in the past but it did hold very well. The downfall of it holding well is that it was very stiff, I only needed a small amount on my hair and it didnt move at all, something i dont want when i want my curls to bounce. I personally think that this hair spray would be better for updos that you want to keep in control all day rather than having your hair down. It is very heavy on loose hair so your hair doesnt move although it is very easy to brush out, something that can be a pain with the cheaper brands of hair spray.
I would recommend this however I think you need to find out what hairstyle works best with this hairspray, I think it would work better on thicker hair than fine hair.
Before i go into detail with this review i would like to point out that my finger nails are very short and i dont wear varnish on them however i do wear alot of flip flops and open toe sandles so my toe nails need to have a little colour.
I first seen these being sold on our local market to start with and then they started being sold in our local beauty stores and for as little as £1.50 per bottle, i thought i would give it a shot. I have had alot of bad varnishes that have been cheaper brands so i did have a few doubts that this would be noticeable, without chipping straight away and applied in a nie even coat but i couldnt have been proven more wrong.
The shades i brought were fluorescent pink and fluorescent yellow to wear under my black crackle effect, also by the same brand and at the same price too. The first coat was a little light, not what I would expect from a fluorescent colour but after the second coat was applied it was bright and cheerful. Even with the black crackle effect over the top I have found that it shows through still and is still very noticable.
The bottle size is 15ml however the bottle is a little bigger than most varnish bottles because the glass is alot thicker, something that is great for me as I have a tendancy of dropping things, so even after many times of this bottle being dropped it still hasnt broken and stained my carpets.
The lid is made of very sturdy black plastic and like all nail varnishes it twists off and has the brush applicator on the inside of it.
There is alot of different colours and shades that this brand has to offer and for me to go through them all would be silly but whatever colour you are looking for, you will find it. They also have different colours in the crackle effect however i have found that the black crackle effect looks and applys better than the others. The only downfall i have with this varnish is that after a few days it does start chipping around the base on the nail so if you want to keep it fresh then i would suggest you take the colour off and reapply it however for me, when the varnish starts to chip I simply change the whole look and go for a totally different colour.
When my old frying pan fell apart I had to buy one pretty much straight away as being a weight watchers member I have to have fried mushrooms and onions in pretty much everything i cook to bulk out my meals, so a quick trip to our local Ikea was in order.
Hunting around Ikea sometimes feels like being in a jumble sale as there is so many products to choose from but I must admit I was very impressed when I came across this frying pan.
It came as part as a double pan set although you can buy it on its own for around £1.70 ish but with the pan set I picked up it also came with a small frying pan that would be ideal for when we are camping.
We brought it for around £3.00 for both the frying pans and at first glance you can tell straight away that it is a non stick pan, something I can not live without. There is nothing worse than having to stand at your sink scrubbing at a pan for ten minutes.
The packaging was very simple. Clear transparent plastic covered the pans with a label stating what the product was. Inside there was instuctions on how to put the handle on to the smaller pan, although it wasnt rocket science to figure out how it is done.
After washing and drying the pan before use, i began cooking with it and i must say it was excellent. Nothing stuck to the bottom or sides of the pan and i was able to turn the food very easily. Even making bolognese I normally pour in the sauce straight into the frying pan once the mince has cooked and even this never stuck.
After eating and then returning to wash the dishes it was very easy to clean all the food from around the inside of the pan and it took the matter of seconds to get it looking like it had just come out of the packaging.
The only downfall i have found with this is that the handles do come very loose after a few uses and you have to get a screwdriver to tighten the screw that holds the handle on but it doesnt take 2 minutes to do this.
Very easy to use, wash and store in a cupboard because the sides are smaller than some i have seen.
I brought these for my daughter whilst in the potty training stage a few months back. She was dry during the day however we did experience some accidents at night time whilst in her pants so we decided to give these a go. My daughter loved them to start off with, when she woke in the night to go to the toilet they was very easy for her to pull up and down, just like real pants and on the odd night when she didnt wake up she didnt have wet bedding although she did know that she had wet herself without the feeling of disappointment.
~~~~ Packaging ~~~~
They come in a very thin plastic bag with a easy split opening at the top so you simply have to pull apart and it splits, giving you enough room to put your hand in and remove a pull up. The packaging is pink for girls and blue for boys. Although i cant remember what design they had on them at the time when i brought them i do know that they are matched to the sex of the child. I believe at one point they had princesses on them but i couldnt be sure because it was a while ago.
The amount you get in a pack depends on what size you buy for your child. When buying the small size you get 18 pull ups, the middle size has 16 pull ups and the larger size you get a couple less although i never brought any of the larger sizes because my daughter grew out of the need to have them very quickly.
The pull up its self doesnt seem as thick as a normal nappy. On the front there is the design and on the back there is the rear view of the design, so the child knows which way to put the pull up on. On the sides of the pull up there is a very thin piece of the pull up so it is easily pulled apart to take the pull up off and avoiding any mess.
~~~~ Price ~~~~
I have found that the pricing can be very different depending on where you shop. We found that Asda will have them on offer at £2.99 sometimes which is the lowest i have seen them. When they are this low I would recommend that you stock up if you are going to be using them for a while because at full price they tend to be anywhere between £3.20 and £3.80 so you are saving up to nearly a pound per packet.
~~~~ My opinion ~~~~
I loved buying these for my little princess, it made night time potty training so much easier and my daughter learnt quickly with these and saved me alot of washing of bedding. They do not leak after a couple of hours of my daughter being in bed which is fantasic because my daughter goes to bed at 7.30 and gets up at 7am so for her to still be dry after 11 and a half hours is fab. These are great if you are at the awkward time of potty training, every parent dreads this time and these just make things so much smoother.
i brought this as a trial a couple of years ago because the store i went to had sold out of my usual Lavender and Camomile and lemon scents, so i thought i would give this a go and it was amazing. I was a little dubious at first, i thought it would smell to sweet and sickly but i was so wrong, it made my kitchen smell gorgeous all day and it left a lingering scent which i loved.
~~~~ Packaging ~~~~
It comes in the standard clear plastic bottle that thins out at the neck and has a blue and white trigger top used on all the flash spray bottles. The thinner neck helps you grip the bottle better and pull the trigger at the same time which is great for people with small hands like myself.
On the front there is the Flash label with the logo and pictures of the scent, which in this case in pink grapefruit. On the back there is the insructions on how to use the product and the ingredience.
When you first glimse the bottle you think the bottle is actually pink however that is the cleaning product inside, not the actual bottle so it is very easy to spot when you are running low and need to buy more.
~~~~ Using the product ~~~~
When using the product for the first time you have to twist the cap on the front of the trigger spray to unlock it. This is great if, like me you have children in the house and you worry that they might be able to get the safety catch off the cleaning cupboard and grab the bottle.
To clean your work surfaces you simply hold the bottle above the area you want to clean and spray, just once and a fine spray will cover a small area. I have noticed that you do not need alot of this cleaning product, 2 sprays on my long worktop is more than enough to clean the side and remove anything on there i.e spilt food and drinks. It also drys very quickly if you only use a small amount.
To wipe my worksurfaces down I use either kitchen roll or a soft cloth that is rinsed and rung out so it can be used again.
The only thing you have to remember is that when you are finished with the spray, twist the cap again so it is locked and the product can not come out, unless unlocked again.
~~~~ My opinion ~~~~
I absolutly loved this scent, infact i stopped buying my normal scents of lavender and lemon because this one was so much nicer. I found that after i had cleaned my kitchen the scent lingered in the kitchen but not on the worksurfaces which is great. I have also found with some cleaning products i have used that if i put any food on my work surface after it had been cleaned, even if a couple of hours had passed, you could taste it on the food but with Flash we have had no problem with this.
The pink grapefruit scent is very sweet but not over powering and it leaves my kitchen smelling fresh and clean all day which is something every home owner wants. Even with 2 dogs that walk in and out of the kitchen all day, it still smells fresh.
At £1 per bottle at Wilkinsons it was a bargin, although i have found that Wilkos have put the price up to £1.29 on occasion but it is on offer more times than not.
The only problem i have found with this now is that it is very hard to come across, everywhere i have been stop selling it for a while but wilkos tend to put it back on the shelf after a couple of months and then take it back off again so i dont think its a big seller, which is disappointing because i love this.
As a mother of 2 young children and an owner of 2 very bouncy and mucky dogs i have found that having the laminate floor and floor tiles down in my home however i love my carpet on my stairs and landing and rugs in each of the rooms. I do find that i have to beat my rugs every day and spray with freshners to take the dog smell away but this is something i can not do on the stairs so glade's shake n vac is perfect for my stairs carpet, the only down fall i have found is that the powder is white and sinks alot into my chocolate brown carpet, making it visable if you can not get it all up out the carpet.
~~~~ Packaging ~~~~
Shake n Vac comes in a pale green plastic bottle that is quite flexible. You can squeeze the bottle although you have no need to however whilst transporting from the shop to your home it can me squeezed with your other shopping and end up going everywhere, something i found out just a few days ago. Not good although the car smelt lovely.
The bottle has the shake and vac label that goes all the way around the bottle, showing the logo, pictures of which scent you have and ingredience and instructions on how to use the product on the back.
The top of the bottle has a pop lid ( as i call it), it simply pops off and pulls back so the 2 holes in the top are open so the powder can poured out.
~~~~ Using the product ~~~~
To use this product it is very simple. You simply open the lid and start to sprinkle the powder very lightly on to the top of your carpet and leave for a few minutes before hoovering the carpet.
I found with this bottle that if i held it with the holes at the bottom of the bottle, I was using way to much on one area and it does get difficult to hoover it all up. I turn the bottle so the holes are at the top and I can then control the amount of powder I am using.
The bottle tells you to leave for a few minutes and then hoover it up but i have left it over night on a few occations and hoovered in the morning and it has left a very faint lingering aroma in the room which can tend to last all day and the smells i dont want have been removed from the carpets.
~~~~ My opinion ~~~~
i love this, it is a must have in my cleaning cupboard because although the smell isnt very strong after it has been hoovered, any unwanted smells in the carpets have gone too. The scent i like the best is lily of the valley but i do use the orange one of the odd occation and it smells great in the summer too as the heat makes it smell a little more.
They tell you on the back tht a 400g bottle will cover 18 sq meters however I can only cover my stairs carpet (which is not very big) and 3 small rugs, so it doesnt go that far, and after one day it is all gone but i can pick it up at my local shop for 80p per bottle and only use it every 2 weeks, maybe longer so it doesnt actually cost me that much money in the long run.
My carpets are very clean anyways, they get steamed every 6 months, hoovered twice daily and have shake n vac every 2 weeks but they still seem to get the normal everyday smells from the dogs and the children either spilling things or rubbing things into the carpets and Shake n vac takes all the smells away.
The only downfall i have for this is that you can not really use it on the longer, shaggier carpets as the small grains tend to embed themselves right into the bottom of the carpets and you can not get them out.
I have been using this product since i had my first baby back in 2006, to be honest i never had any problems with my son sleeping so it was never brought to help him sleep however I am very loyal to the Johnson's line and i personally think they are the best for my children.
My daughter however was a very different story, she refused to sleep at all so this was something we brought to see if it would help and i truely think it did help.
~~~~ What is Johnsons bedtime bath? ~~~~
Johnson'd bedtime bath is a gentle cleanser to help you baby sleep better. When put into warm water it releases a mixture of calming aromas to aid sleep. Just like other johnson's products, this again is NO MORE TEARS formula so you know that your child will be fine if any does accidenly get into their eyes. It is also formulated with the naturalcalm essence so it gives parents peace of mind.
~~~~ Where to buy ~~~~
You can buy this from pretty much anywhere, at your local superstores, chemists and well stocked stores but they also range in price. We have noticed that it is on offer alot so it would be hard to miss. At regular price we have noticed it anywhere between £1.50 and £2.75 and although it does last a very long time it is still steep in price, especially when you can pick it up whilst on offer for £1.00.
~~~~ Packaging ~~~~
Firstly it comes in a lilac plastic bottle with a screw lid, which also has a pop off lid attached to make pouring easier to control. The fact that you can screw the lid off is great because once you think it is all gone, you can pour a little water into the bottle and it will be enough for another bath. My children also enjoy playing with the clean empty bottles in the bath too and make squirty guns out of them.
On the front of the bottle there is the Johnson's name in pale blue and the rest of the information in purple making it easy to read.
The back of the bottle tells you the ingredience which areWater, PEG-80 Sorbitan Laurate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, Polysorbate 20, PEG-150 Distearate, Sodium Benzoate, Fragrance, Citric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide. So please be sure to check the ingredience to make sure your child is not allergic to any of the items as one of my friends found out the hard way and had a very rough nights sleep with her baby.
The bottle comes in 3 different sizes however i tend to use the medium bottle as it tends to be the one that is on offer the most, and the one i can save the most money on.
~~~~ My thoughts ~~~~
To be honest i love this product. It does tell you to use in a 3 step nightly routine however i have used this without the lotion on a couple of occations that i have ran out and i do not see any difference in the sleep pattern, just the smoothness in my baby's skin.
It is very easy to use, i tend to pour a small amount into the bath water to make a small amount of bubbles and then when it is time to wash the children i pour a small amount, roughly the size of a 50pence coin onto a sponge and it goes a long way.
It doesnt smell that different to the normal Johnson's baby bath however i think you can faintly pick up the scent of lavender, although it is not stated in the ingredience. I dont know if that is just my personal opinion or if the lavender is in the natural calm formula.
It makes my baby's skin very soft after they have been in the bath and the scent lingers on our childrens skin so they always smell clean and fresh.
I would recommend this to every parent, even if you do not have any issues with your children sleeping at night because it is a lovely product. My children love it and as soon as i am running low i have to buy some more as i refuse to use anything else now.
After taking a break from Weight Watchers for 4 months I had noticed that my weight was slowly creeping back up and I wasnt happy so joined Weight Watchers again to try and shift some of my unwanted fluffiness. I never tried the Weight Watcher meals before because we would always sit down together as a family and everyone ate the same as me however with my partner starting a new job and the children at school i decided to give them a shot and i was not dissapointed with my purchase.
I brought them from Iceland at £1.00 each, other products are a little more expensive. I stocked my freezer full including the Tomatoe and basil chicken.
One the box it shows you the picture of the meal once cooked and that it is made not only by Weight Watchers but also Heinz. The points are on the box however it is by the old pointing system not the new (ish) propoints so you would have to recalculate the points. It works out at 7 propoints for the full meal which is really good and it also tells you the amount of calories in the meal, however with Weight Watchers you dont normally check the calories, you mostly look at the back for the rest of the information.
It is very easy to prepare the meal, you simply take it out of the box, pierce a few holes in the celofane cover and place in the microwave for around 8 minutes in total and leaving it to stand for 1 minute. You can also cook them in the oven aswell, you would have to look at the cooking guide lines for that as i have never managed to cook it in the oven. Whilst cooking you can really smell the Tomato and basil more that anything else. The wedges have to smell to them at all however they are very nice and soft. The chicken pieces are a little small but when you are following Weight Watchers everything seems small to begin with, a few weeks into the plan and you look at it as a perfect meal. You get roughly around 3 to 4 pieces in the meal and around a handful of wedges which is quite a lot for a meal of 7 propoints.
I wouldnt have this meal on its own expecting it to be enough for me and to keep me full until either my next meal or the following morning. I tend to add steamed vegatables with it and it is alot nicer and more filling. I have also had some of the Weight Watchers garlic bread with it and it was beautiful.
The great thing about this meal is that it doesnt taste like a low calorie meal, it is packed with flavour, the chicken is lovely and moist and the wedges have their own distinctive taste to them which really brings out all the flavours.
I would recommend this meal to people who are watching what they eat and are following a diet as it doesnt feel like you are cutting anything out with it, you feel like it is a normal ready meal. Although you can not get rid of the ready meal (microwave) taste it still does taste very nice indeed.
I would suggest you shop around for them though, i have seen them alot in Asda and Iceland on offer for around the £1.00 mark, they are also sold in Heron for the same price but i have also seen them in other stores from £1.25 and upwards so please shop around to make sure you get the best deals on them
