I read an article on the Daily Mail website and heard that The Only Way is Essex gang were raving about this product...(not that I aspire to be like any of them...im just a sucker for anything that claims to turn back the years...who isnt?!). Like most anti ageing products, it claimed to have dramatic effects...so i thought, why not?!
I bought a 4ml pen from the boots website which cost me £10.25. At the time, i thought that was an ok price...but when it arrived, i realised how little 4ml's actually is. It came in a huge box, which in comparison to the actual item was a waste of cardboard!!
The applicator pen looks a bit like a thick felt pen. It has a lid which is to be pulled off which reveals a smooth brush applicator. All you do, is simply click the pen and the fluid comes out. The substance of the fluid is simular to watery milk. As soon as i used it, i thought, this isnt going to do much!!
The liquid seemed sticky to me, which wasnt very nice when applied to my skin.
This is how the website describes the product;
"Wrinkles and expression lines will be no more with this revolutionary instant line filler! The concentrated formula plumps + smoothes the appearance of expression lines, fine lines + wrinkles; hydrating + moisturising skin to leave your face smooth + instantly younger. Conveniently sized to fit into even the smallest of handbags, make sure you always have Frown Fix with you for your plumping fix on-the-go!"
*amino acids smooth + minimise the look of expression lines
*purslane extract hydrates + diminishes the appearance of wrinkles
*centella extract fine lines appear visibly reduced
These claims may be true...but in my opinion, all they have done is mixed a bit of sugar and a few other things together which has created something to fill wrinkles...temporarily!!! Yes, it may do what it says...but lets be honest, constant reapplication through the day, using a 4ml pen isnt going to last very long because before you know it, it'll be empty!
In my opinion, all this company has done is created a product which people think will fix their wrinkles, when in actual fact, all it has done is created a very good brand which claims to solve the life long issue of wrinkles...but all it really is is a concoction which i could probably rustle up myself!!
Overall...a well branded product, which gives false hope and lures its users into thinking they've finally found a solution to ageing, when in actual fact, all they are doing is wasting their money!!
Jennifer Lopez released her new fragrance Love & Glamour on to the market in autumn 2010. Love & Glamour was created by Honorine Blanc and Harry Fremont of Firmenich in cooperation with Lopez.
Composition opens with notes of Italian mandarin, guava and nectarine pulp. A heart incorporates water lily, coconut orchid, orange blossom absolute and jasmine petals, while a base finishes with sandalwood, sensual musk and amber. While the fragrance was being created and developed, Lopez asked the perfumers to accentuate sandalwood at least a bit more and to make the fragrance a bit sexier...
Like most perfumes, upon spraying, it comes across as being a bit strong...but after a few minutes the citrus scents come out and create a romantic, feminine scent. It isnt an over powering smell, which is good, but a disadvantage of this is that the smell doesnt last as long as other perfumes would.
The fragrance is available as 50 and 75ml EDP, along with 200ml body care lotion. The 75ml bottle retails at just under £30 online. You could probably get it cheaper on ebay or shopping around elsewhere.
The bottle is gold with "Love and Glamour Jennifer Lopez" written on the bottom in small black font. The shape of the bottle is something which is supposed to resemble a celebrity in a glamourous gown on the red carpet....a weird concept in my opinion, as an everyday woman would find it hard to relate to this. When i look at the shape of the bottle, i think its supposed to be Jennifer Lopez's figure, as the bottle comes out, as if its emulating her curves. Relative to the "Jennifer Lopez" brand, yes...but why would a woman want to buy the perfume because the bottle looks like a curvy body?! It definitely looks a bit like an award...maybe she's hinting at something. Although the bottle shape is a bit odd...it is different and makes it very easy to hold. The lid has a gold bumpy texture and then theres a plastic pink shape around it which i think is supposed to look like some sort of diamond...but it just looks a bit tacky.
Who is this suitable for....???
The smell is sweet and would definitely suite a broad range of ages. If i smelt this scent on my grandmother, i wouldnt think anything of it. If i smelt it on my sister, again, i wouldnt think anything. So basically, Jennifer Lopez has done well to create a scent which is eclectic among differing ages. The appearance of the bottle doesnt really appeal to me and im 23...it does have a more mature look about it, so I cant see many young girls picking it up, unless they'd just buy it because of who created it. The scent is definitely wearable for any occassion...but personally, i would wear it to a wedding or posh dinner. It doesnt seem to last very long, but because its a relatively low priced item, you probably are getting your moneys worth.
A well priced, nice perfume. Better than her other perfume by far. Probably best suited to women in their late 20's...but an older woman could definitely pull it off, so basically suitable for more mature women. It doesnt last all day, but a feminine, romantic, flirty scent which is worth a sniff...
Ive always though benefit makeup was a bit over priced, but from sampling the makeup in stores...i see why theres so much hype, but i still havent made my first purchase. I subcribe to Glamour magazine and they often give freebies...so whenever theres a benefit piece, i nab it before my sister does!!
Ive tried this cheek and lip stain before, so when it came free with Glamour magazine, i was really chuffed!!
On the Benefit website, this comes in a 12.5ml bottle and costs £24.50.
It comes in a pink box and the item itself actually looks a bit like a nail varnish. The stain just looks like coloured water, but dont be put off.
Is it any good...???
I have dry skin, so anything that is powder based doesnt sit well on my skin...but when i used this cheek stain, it gave a really nice colour and didnt dry my skin at all. It's brilliant, because the bottle lasts for ages!!! You apply the stain with what again looks like a nail varnish brush. This is good for application, because i hate when you have to use fingers as an applicator. It also goes great on lips...but i do usually put lip balm over the top as it gives a matte look and im also prone to chapped lips. It lasts ages after application, but i do usually put a few layers on depending on what impact i want. Its perfect for everyday use because its a subtle colour and is really easy to use. I got compliments from friends when i wore it to a bbq. They said that they hadnt seen me re-applying anything and my lips and cheeks were still pink after even being sat in a hot tub. Although after a few hours, it did create a small line towards the inside of my lip. This is probably because i was drinking and talking a lot. I do feel like a need to check this in the mirror as i dont want people staring at my lips for the wrong reasons, but on the whole, its brilliant.
The price is a put off for me, but you can shop around on websites such as ebay and get a good deal. It lasts for ages, so is money well spent. It looks great during the day or at night and its easy to carry in a handbag and can be applied anywhere, whether you're on a bus without a mirror or on a night out.
I got this phone as a gift for xmas 2009 from my father. I got it on Pay as you go. I dont know how much it cost at the time, but now you can get it for around a £120, maybe even cheaper if you have the time to shop around. I think thats a very reasonable price for a smartphone.
The phone comes in quite a big box, and comes with loads of sales leaflets which annoys the hell out of me!! It also comes with the standard things such as a battery charger, usb cable and instructions etc. The box is a bit plain and black, and in my opinion its quite boring.
The phone itself is also plain black (the other colours werent out at the time). When you first pick it up, it does feel quite big in size, because its quite a wide phone, but you get used to this after a while. It has a plastic cover on the back which conceals the battery, which is surrounded by rubbery bits, which does aid grip. Considering it is quite a big phone, it is pretty light.
Height of the phone- 4.29 inches (109 mm)
Width- 2.36 inches (60 mm)
Depth- 0.55 inches (13.9 mm)
Weight- 3.70 ounces (105 grams)
It has a high-resolution 320x240 pixel colour display, light sensitive screen and user-selectable font. The screen does have quite a good quality, yet still not up to par as other smartphones. It also boasts a 35 key backlit QWERTY keyboard, which is handy for computer users as the letters are in a familiar sequence so texting is easier. But, my father in law also has this phone, and he thinks the buttons are too small, and also finds it tricky to use because you have to hold the alt key down and press a number at the same time, otherwise you'll get a letter instead of a number.
The Phone itself...
The phone has 256MB onboard memory, but has expandable memory with the use of a MicroSD card.
The curve has a 1150 mAh removable/rechargeable lithium-ion battery which claims that the battery lasts for up to approximately 4.5hours when used for talk time and it also has a standby time of up to 17 days. In my experience of using this phone the battery is pretty good, but when it does get low, it doesnt receive signal, so for about an hour before the phone actually dies completely, your just left with the homescreen and menu, whilst not being able to receive texts, emails, or take pictures. Now, i find this completely pointless and can be very irritating!!
The phone has many functions such as a 2.0 MP camera, 5X digital zoom, fixed focus and video recording. As most technically minded people will know, a 2.0MP camera isnt very good at all. The pictures are very grainy and taking a pictures needs a very steady hand, because in most cases the picture turns out blurry. It also doest have a flash, so indoor pictures are pretty much pointless. The phone also has a media player, so you can play songs on your phone.
It has Bluetooth. I am not sure if its just my handset, but i seem to have a lot of problems with mine. I works sometimes and decides when it doesnt want to work. One of the advantages of this smartphone is Blackberry Messenger, which enables the user to instant chat with other Blackberry users for free if they exchange Blackberry PIN numbers. I always use this function, but sometimes, when im typing, theres a delay and sometimes it decides to stop typing, so i have to end the chat and open it again. Quite frustrating to say the least. This function was a novelty for some time, but now that there are many other apps which enable instant chat, Blackberry Messenger has been somewhat over shadowed.
Blackberry app store is where you can buy or get free apps. I havent downloaded many because it takes ages and causes delays. The handset also has wifi. Its good for Facebook, but otherwise, very slow compared to other phones. I do love receiving my emails to my phone and having them in a seperate file to my texts.
In my opinion the design of the menu screen could be a lot better and imaginitive. Comparing it to other smartphones, the design is very plain, probably because this phone was initially aimed at Business men and women. It has use of a memopad, calculator, voice dialling, password keeper and the ability to open Word, XL and PPT documents. I have yet to use these functions and probably never will, because i highly doubt ill have a good experience whilst doing so because of the speed of the Blackberry.
Ive recently bought an iphone 4, and have been comparing both handsets and simply this is no comparing as the iphone wins hands down everytime. I will admit, i did love my Blackberry before i came to use the iphone, but now it just seems, boring, slow and too business like. The camera quality is poor, internet connectivity is slow and it isnt pleasing to the eye and basically isnt that easy to use. I'm a technologically aware person, but ive realised that ive hardly used many of the functions on the Blackberry, because the menu design doesnt make me want to try. When looking under the "Options" file on the menu, it lists too many things and Blackberry dont seem to have been able to cut things down to make the phone easy to use...everything you endevour to do seems to involve too many instructions.
I bought this phone a few weeks ago. As a Blackberry user, i was hesitant whether to go to the dark side or not. I always loved my blackberry curve, but as soon as i used the iphone 4, i was hooked!!
I chose the white model, as i think it looks a bit more classy and less people have it. I payed £99 for the handset and i pay £35 a month on contract. This is a lot more than i would spend usually as i usually topped up £10 a month and got free msgs, internet and magic numbers, but the deal was too good to pass up.
The iphone 4 comes in a tiny white box, which isnt much bigger than the actual phone itself. I was very impressed by this, as i hate getting new phones which come in huge boxes and a full of junk. Upon opening the iphone box, i followed instructions which told me to link the phone to my laptop to set up the software. It also stated that i had to push a small paper clip looking thing into the phone in order to insert the TINY sim card which came with it. Now, this couldve been me, but i couldnt for the life of me find this instrument in the box and after resorting to watching youtube videos, i was instructed to find a paperclip and use that. All in all, it took around 20mins to actually open the bit where the sim card goes in, which was a bit frustrating as i just wanted to get going and see what all the hype was about.....Once everything was up and running, i did actually find the little thing that apple gives you to open the sim card slot....it was on the inside of the lid. I will admit, i was cursing apple for creating such a complex piece of technology, yet not telling the buyer where this tiny instrument is hidden!!
The Phone itself....
The phone is pretty big when you first hold it and it is quite heavy...but this is to be expected because of the complex workings of the device. The screen is glass, and the sides of the phone are rounded but the edges are quite sharp. I have heard some people complaining about this because it makes to phone look a bit like a block, but i think it looks a lot more stylish and i find there's less chance of dropping it. All around the phone edges, they're a silvery grey colour which compliments the white and there is a Apple icon which i use as a mini mirror, which i find quite handy.
The 960-by-640 backlit LCD display screen boasts a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch, making it the highest-resolution phone screen ever. To achieve this, Apple engineers developed pixels so small - a mere 78 micrometers across - that the human eye can't distinguish individual pixels. That makes text remarkably sharp and graphics incredibly vivid.
The iPhone 4 camera shoots gorgeous 5-megapixel photos and stunning HD video. And with its advanced backside illumination sensor, it captures beautiful images even in low-light settings. The built-in LED flash does double duty. When you're taking pictures, it works as a flash. When you're shooting video it can stay on to light up the scene. And on the front of iPhone 4, the built-in camera is perfect for making FaceTime calls and shooting self-portraits. While most phones have only one microphone, iPhone 4 has two. The main mic, located on the bottom next to the dock connector, is for phone calls, voice commands, and memos. The second mic, built into the top near the headphone jack, is for FaceTime calls and for making your phone calls better. It works with the main mic to suppress unwanted and distracting background sounds, such as music and loud conversations. I havent actually used this yet, my i have heard that its pretty much the same as skype, and that the quality isnt amazing. That's just what ive heard...
The dual-mic noise suppression helps make every conversation a quiet one. With its large Multi-Touch display and innovative software, iPhone lets you control everything using just your fingers. A panel laminated on the glass senses your touch using electrical fields. It can register multiple touches at once to support advanced gestures such as pinch to zoom, two-finger tap, and more. The panel then transmits the information to the Retina display below it. The sensitivity really is amazing...i thought a touch screen would be really annoying, but surprisingly, it isnt. One thing that apple could improve on though, is the fact that that touch screen when txting is a bit small. Basically, when texting I do find it quite tricky because i end up pressing other letters. This is made easier if you turn the phone on its side, as the picture flips so the screen is wider. Its also quite hard to text when your in a moving car, because the touch sensitivity is so good.
This iphone 4 memory capacity is 16GB, but you can get a 32GB one. Ive listed most of the specifications...

One of the main things that impressed me about this smartphone is all the apps which are available. Things that you never even think of, for example...barcode scanners, picture recognition etc are available. You can get a lot of theses apps for free, but then prices vary depending on the app. I find myself scolling through them for hours! I know other smartphones such as Blackberry have apps, but none of them operate as well as the ones on the iphone do. The speed of use is impecable and truly is work of a genius.
A disadvantge of the iphone is the fact that the technology is so advanced, that working some functions does take some time to grasp. For example, personalising my ringtone took a while because you have to link the phone to your laptop and sync the operations and drag and drop and save etc, so for somebody who isnt that technologically minded, it could cause a lot of confusion.
Another thing that I discovered about the phone is that apple have worked the phone so that you cant put songs that are already downloaded on your computer on to phone, because apple can recognise that the song wasnt bought from them...so if you want music on your phone (it also functions as an ipod), you need to buy every song from apple itunes. Probably a money making scheme for apple...but oh well.
I am highly impressed with the iphone 4. I cant believe i went without one for so long. Blackberry really need to up their game to be able to beat the iphone. I am still new to the apple brand, so there are more than likely loads of functions and little tricks that i'm not yet aware of...but i look forward to finding out more things.
The price may be a put off for many, but i would definitely recommend this phone to anyone!!
I first started using this perfume a few years ago, as I have grown up smelling it because of my mother.
The Chanel brand has been around for years and sells anything from Fashion, Jewellery to Fragrances. Chanel Chance is one of the many fragrances from Chanel. Similar to the Eau de Toilette, the Eau de Parfum is an Unexpected Floral, created by Jacques Polge.
Chanel describes the scent as, "an unpredictable balance that continually surprises. A constellation of scents, warmed up by Absolute of Vanilla, where Absolute of Exotic Jasmine and Iris are more pronounced. A mysterious alchemy accentuated by the intensity of the White Musk note.
When you first smell Chance, it's fresh, sweet and warm at the same time. It embodies femininity, luxury and elegance within its notes.
Once applied, it lasts all day. You could probably have a few squirts and you would be done for the day...which really impressed me.
Chanel Chance comes in a rich pink box with gold writing. Its simplicity echoes the classic reputation that Chanel has. The bottle is round and flat, which is made of thick glass and has a silver edge. The lid is cube shaped and has the Coco Chanel logo embossed upon it. The Eau de Parfum fragrance has a beautiful amber-coloured shade, while its bottle is adorned with a few touches of gold: gold replaces silver for the letters of the word CHANCE and on the neck of the bottle, and a delicate line of gold underlines the edges of the folding carton.
For a 50ml bottle, Chanel Chance Eau de Parfum will set you back around £45- £60. Nowadays you will probably be able to get it for less than £60 because of fierce competition on the net, so I would recommend shopping around to get a good deal, although, i believe this scent to be worth every penny as it lasts a very long time and reminds me of elegance and class.
Who is this scent most suited to???.....
Being 23, maybe I am a bit young for this scent, but i do believe that Chance is one of the scents that will suit most age groups. Its almost universal and it wouldnt seem out of place if i smelt the scent on my Grandmother (Shes a young 63), my mother, or even my friends. It will take you anywhere. Its suitable for the day and night.
Eventhough this perfume is at the higher end of the price scale, its more than worth it. Its sophisticated, elegant and timeless. This scent will definitely be a perfume staple throughout my life. Chanel is one of the best and continue create amazing fragrances. I would definitely recommend it to any woman....or any man that is looking for a gift which is guaranteed to get a smile from any woman. Its the only thing my father ever buys my mother and she loves it everytime!!
GO BUY IT NOW!!!
As I am a woman, this review will come from a female perspective. Some people may wonder why im reviewing this product if i dont use it myself. But from past experience, most men want a females opinion when it comes to anything theyre wearing or any eau de toilette they are using.
I first came into contact with issey mikayke edt a couple of years ago when i met my boyfriend. Aside from the initial attraction, he smelt absolutely gorgeous and i immediately asked what scent he was wearing. He still wears this scent on a regular basis and it always takes me back to our first encounter....
Anyway...Issey Miyake was edt was launched in 1993 and the desiger states that; "this is a fresh yet warm woody scent accented with spicy notes. It has top notes of juniper bergamot and lavender middle notes of sage coriander and freesia and base notes of sandalwood moss and cedar."
Now, I cant claim to be an expert on certain smells, but i do know what smells nice. The only thing i can confirm is that the scent is very spicy, yet fresh. Its very masculine and has a strong smell when first applied. Initially, it can come across as overpowering, but after a bit, it mellows and does last a very long time, which is definitely a good thing because you wouldnt need to spray a lot of it, therefore it will last a long time.
The edt comes in a silver box, which is eye catching. The bottle itself a lot more appealing. Its tall and oblong and narrows towards the top of the bottle. The lid is light grey/silver plastic, which stays firmly on the bottle. The bottle looks stylish and modern because most other bottles have clear glass, but Issey Miyake has created an almost frosted glass which stands out over other scent bottles. It has small light grey/silver writing on the front which keeps the design minimal.
As is possible with most things these days, Issey Miyake is available in stores and online, so I would shop around to get the best price. From what i can see from searching for prices on the internet, a 75ml edt costs around £30-£38, which is a very reasonable price for a product which lasts so long.
Who is this scent best suited to? -
In my opinion this scent is a timeless classic. It has a classy smell and screams sophistication. I would say its well suited to young professionals, probably men aged from 23-35. I would say its more of an evening scent if i was pushed for an answer, but my boyfriend occassionally wears it on weekends, during the day and it still gives the same impression of style and masculinity.
Issey Miyake is a good value, long lasting scent which gives an impression of style and sophistication. Its design is sleek and will no doubt stand the test of time when compared to competing brands. As a woman who smells this scent on a regular basis, I would definitely recommend it to men who want to attract attention from any woman, or for any wives/girlfriends who are looking for the perfect gift for their partner!!
I have loads of different perfumes...i dont know how i always manage to justify buying another, but Gucci: Guilty is a must in my eyes...and my nose!!
Over Xmas, i saw endless tv adverts, magazine adverts and billboards and wondered what all the fuss was about. I bought a 30ml bottle from Boots for £35 and its worth every penny!!
It comes in a sleek black box with gold writing. The bottle screams class and elegance. Its shiny gold and has curved edges and the Gucci logo is on the front.
In my opinion, the shape of the bottle is easy to carry around in a handbag, which i always do.
Gucci Guilty is a warm yet striking oriental floral perfume with hedonism at its fragrance heart. The fragrance commands the attention of many around, with a flamboyant opening of mandarin, alongside a fist of pink pepper. The middle notes are a mesmerizing concoction of heady lilac and geranium, laced with the succulent tactility of peach - which evokes femininity. The patchouli that is the hallmark of Gucci fragrances here conveys a message of strength, while the voluptuousness of amber suggests deep femininity.
This fragrance is deeply seductive and has a sexy smell. My boyfriend loves it and ive had many comments about it. If I'm having a fat day or I'm feeling low...it never fails to put me in a good mood and it definitely makes me feel sexy. It's not too overpowering when you first put it on. I find it lingers all day, so it's good value for money, becasue you dont have to keep reapplying all day.
Its perfect for everyday use, but I do think it packs a punch when teamed with a pair of killer heels and a little black dress! I wouldnt say its suited to younger women (im 23), but I just cant resist it. It would be lovely on a woman in her late 20's-mid 30's.
The only thing it's guilty of is being a seductively gorgeous fragrance! Buy it now!!!
This perfume was bought for me as a gift from my boyfriends mother last summer. The RRP for a 30ml Eau de Parfum is around £32, but after searching online, you can easily get a bottle for around £20.
Rock'n Rose perfume is the fragrance launched by the fashion label, Valentino. This fragrance is elegant, modern and sensual. The main scent of this perfume is Roses, hence the name and it contains top notes of muguet, bergamot and blackcurrant. Middle notes of rose and white florals including gardenia and orange blossom. Base notes of vanilla, orris and musk. Valentino decided to launch this perfume for a young generation of women who is "a rose on the outside and a rocker on the inside".
This perfume comes in a chic black box with baby pink feminine writing. The bottle itself is a large, round glass bottle and could easily be confused for a crystal ball!!! I took this perfume away travelling for 5months, and it wasnt very easy to carry...mainly because of the awkward size of the bottle. I also nearly dropped the bottle on numerous occassions because its pretty big and is hard to hold with one hand. The plastic black lid is supposed to look like a rose stem (i'm assuming?)..this also is a bit annoying because when stored in my toilet bag, it often came off, which resulted in a rather big leak. On the plus side, my toilet bag stayed smelling gorgeously fresh for 5months!!
In my opinion, upon spraying this perfume...the scent is very, very strong and if you smell it immediately, it could almost smell like hairspray, which sounds off putting, but after a while it calms down and the floral tones start to come out. It is very good value for money because you dont need to spray a lot at all because its strong and lasts a long time. The fragrance is very floral and fresh at the same time. For me, the smell improves throughout the day because it loses its strength. It is really lovely and is one of my favourite scents.
I think this perfume is for a more mature woman. Maybe mid 20's-40 because is has a grown up smell and its quite a sophisticated scent. I think it is suitable for any time of the day. The scent gives off the impression of class in my opinion. It's perfect for the summer months because of the floral notes. I'm 23 and i love it and i would definitely recommend it to friends and family members because of its all day, any occassion scent.
Overall, a very strong, long lasting perfume which is good value for money, but the design of the bottle isnt ideal because it isnt easy to carry in a handbag because of the size and the lid comes off which sometimes leads to a leak.
This Lacoste Eau de Toilette perfume was launched in 2004. It has a fresh, fruity floral fragrance which is very youthful. Its top notes consist of coriander leaves, blood oranges and cardamon, middle notes of jasmine, violet leaves and carot seed and base notes of sandalwood, vanilla and musk.
This perfume comes in a pink box which is very eye catching. The appearance of the perfume bottle is as stricking as the box and it has a plastic lid, which does tend to come off if its kept in a handbag. The bottle is glass and of a long narrow design so i cant imagine it would break easily. It costs around £17 for a 30ml bottle.
I first started using this perfume when i was around 17 because i saw the advert on tv and being a girly teenager, i loved the appearance. In my opinion, this perfume is more suitable for summer months because of its sweet and fruity scent. I like to wear a lot of perfume, and i always had people telling me that i smelt nice.
I'm now 23 and my boyfriends mother recently bought me another bottle. Whenever i smell it, it reminds me of when i was younger and i instantly think of summer because it smells so fresh.
I think this perfume is more suited to daytime use and it is quite a strong smell which lasts quite a while, so its good value for money.
I love this perfume, but i do feel that I am now maybe a bit old for this type of fragrance. I would definitely recommend it to teenagers because its playful and the design of the perfume bottle is probably one that would appeal to the younger eye.
Overall a lovely scent, great price, but i may not wear it for much longer as i believe its more suited to younger girls.
I got this laptop brand new for Christmas 2 years ago. i loved it straight away because im a bit of an internet addict.
It was easy to set up and had plenty of functions and generally worked well and was reliable and fast.
But after i few months, i noticed that the charger started to break because of the poor design. I told my father, who simply just blamed me and said that i dont look after my things (i do...i just used my laptop a lot more than he does, so obviously they wont last as long.) For months i would have to manouver the charger cable to try and get it to charge. This was exremely annoying!! Then sometimes i would hear sparks just inside the laptop where the charger would enter. The charger completely broke around 14 months after it got bought for me. I didnt take it back because the warranty had run out. I spent a lot of money on getting my chargers fixed and buying new ones, and now the charger that i have is a universal one and does charge the laptop, only if its constantly plugged in and if it would fall out the laptop would immediately turn off!!
I put up with this and just made sure that the charger never slipped out, but the initial problems lead to other complications. When the charger has been sparking inside the laptop, it burnt a hole in my motherboard...so you can imagine the trouble that caused!! All in all, i have probably spent around £200 on this laptop through repairs.
But, I will say, other than the charger problem, i love the laptop...its so easy to use and its fast. It has an impressive 2GB RAM and a graphics card geforce 7000, which enable decent multimedia use because you can watch films in wide screen format and the 15.4inch screen is big enough to use the laptop to watch films on instead of the tv. Eventhough i got a new laptop for xmas, i still have the old one and it works perfectly (as long as the charger is in!)
This laptop is perfect for everyday use such as using the internet, watching films and using microsoft office etc...but i wouldnt recommend it to advanced laptop users.
I love this TV!! I bought it for my boyfriend for xmas, but I probably use it more than him.
I chose LG because the general perception is that its a good, reliable brand.
I got the TV for a brilliant price, considering its 42inches. It was easy to set up and looks great on a tv stand or even on the wall. its a 1080p LCD TV with freeview HD, NetCast, 3 x HDMI and USB connectivity
The LG LD490 LCD TV series provides Full HD 1080p picture quality and has built in freeview HD to provide 5 times the picture quality of standard definition freeview. Also built in is LG NetCast technology for access to your favourite internet content for websites like youtube etc.

The design is simple and stylish and LG have even taken into consideration that most people dont use the buttons on the tv and have concealed them so as to keep the design as class and minimal as possible.
The picture quality isnt amazing, but its still pretty good for the price. The tv is in a bedroom, so to me the sound is great, but I am not sure what it would be like in a bigger room. The remote control is easy to use and doesnt have too many buttons.
Overall, a very good product for the price. It looks stylish and is definitely worth the money. :-)
I bought this product because i know Clarins is a good brand and have many high quality products because my mother has used them for years.
The appearance of the packaging is great because its eyecatching and the colour reminds you of suntan lotion bottles, which are associated with holidays, which in my opinion would encourage more people to buy it.
The smell of the cream is ok i suppose because i know tanning creams dont stereotypically smell of roses, but ive gotta be honest, i have smelt better.
Upon applying the cream, it didnt have a very thick consistency, it almost felt watery. I like my face creams to be thick because in my opinion it tends to keep my skin moisturised for longer. When the cream dried it didnt feel particularly nice on my skin and when the colour started to develop, my skin seemed to absorb it more in some places than others, so i was admittedly left with a bit of a patchy face. This could vary with different people because i appreciate that everyone has different skin types, so do try it before you dismiss it. But even if it is my skin, i have used other facial tanning creams and i havent had the same problem. Maybe it has something to do with the consistency? who knows?
I do love that this cream has an SPF because i think the sun is the main culprit for wrinkles.
I got this cream bought for me at Christmas. I also got the night cream.
When I initially opened the pot, the cream did smell lovely (as did the night cream, because theyre pretty much the same smell)...the consistency of the cream is not as thick as the night cream, but it does still tend to feel heavy on the skin. Saying this, it does keep skin moisturised for a long time and did keep my skin feeling supple. Its rather pricey, but Clarins is a well known and respected brand and my experience of many of their products has been very satisfactory.
Theres an SPF in this cream which i love, because i believe that the sun is the main factor for premature ageing. I love using this moisturiser because it has a luxourious feel and it keeps my dry skin moisturised for a good while. But, I having used many other creams which are a lot cheaper, im not sure i would opt for this cream. It has nothing to do with the product, its just i believe that i can get a very simular result from other creams which are a fraction of the price. You do pay for quality when buying this cream...but i think as a consumer, i payed more for the brand
My boyfriend bought me the Amazon Kindle 3G for my birthday 6 weeks ago, because after travelling for 5months, I have become addicted to reading books!!
I had seen the advert on tv many times and had seen lots of people using them on the 37 flights that I was on during my travels!! I was intrigued by the product, but thought it was more suited to older people, because of the types of people i saw using them.
When i first powered up the kindle, it was so easy to use and i immediately started reading my first book...which probably annoyed my boyfriend a bit as we were on holiday at the time and i spent about 90% of the time reading!
Obviously the Kindle doesnt need loads and loads of different functions because its main function is to store books. Although i was surprised when i was able to use the internet. I know the 3G Kindle costs around £160 and initially i thought this was quite expensive, but considering i can use the internet on it and it can store 1000's of books, i soon realised that it is well worth the money.
Although, i do think the internet function isnt as good as it could be because its quite slow, but amazon may be improving this function as i type for all i know.
I think it could be improved slightly by having a colour screen, but this would definitely increase the price and it wouldnt really be like reading a book then would it, it would be more like using an ipad.
When using the kindle, the audio function comes in handy when my eyes are tired or when im just feeling lazy...although the womans voice does make me laugh.
The battery life is also very good...but i do forget to turn it off properly and as a result my battery has drained.
A major advantage is that is saves so much space and is cheaper than buying books.
Overall, the kindle is an amazing invention and im sure there will be many developments in terms of functions etc, but nevertheless, my kindle goes EVERYWHERE with me and i do love being on a plane or bus and seeing people reading regular old books and catching them trying to get a look at my kindle because it looks so technologically advanced !!!
