This monitor has been absolutely fantastic! I am a bit of a worrier and this has completely soothed my fears about leaving our baby in her room to sleep. It comes with a movement mat which is positioned under the mattress and if there is no movement for 20 seconds, the alarm goes off. In fact the alarm beeps at about 15 seconds to warn you and then goes off full bang at 20 seconds. We have never had any false alarms and we have been using it for 6 months.
The monitor is well designed and has several different options for listening to baby. The base monitor has a cool, funky little blue nightlight that is built in and provides enough ambient light to manoeuvre around a dark room but not too much light as to keep baby up.
It will take a little time to get used to switching it off before taking baby out of bed! Trust me when you have a baby screaming the last thing you think of is turning the sensor mat off- lol.
It's super easy to set up- it literally took me about 5 minutes.
I would recommend buying one new or knowing where the used one came from. I got one off ebay and it absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke- there was £55 down the drain! I had to bin it and then bought a brand new one
My little girl LOVES the Tippitoes Bath! It's ergonomically designed so that the baby won't easily slip under the water. It is so much easier than a normal baby bath- which we tried when she was about a month old. While the typical baby bath is awkward, this Tippitoes is so easy to use! It's compact and whilst we have a small'ish bathroom we are still able to store it in the corner. It's made of sturdy plastic and has a drainhole in the bottom so we actually bathe her with the tub on the bathroom floor so we don't have to lean over the adult bath. Washing her is so convenient and I think I actually look forward to giving her a bath as much as she looks forward to having a bath! I'm able to use both hands bathing her and it's so easy! The area where the baby lays is actually padded with a nice foam from the mid-back to the top of the head so the baby is nice and comfortable. I am absolutely gutted that she's growing out of it- she's 6 months old now and I think we have about another month that we'll be able to use it. I would recommend this bath to anyone- it is fantastic!!
We bought a Baby Bjorn and absolutely loved it for the first few months. After 5 months though we had to graduate to something more ergonomically sound. We used it initially when our daughter was only 3 weeks old and she loved it- we used it for walking all over town and hiking all over the downs and she was so sung and happy. I have to say baby wearing is a fantastic way to transport baby! It totally beats pushing a buggy on a busy Saturday morning trying to negotiate through the crowds!
When my daughter reached about 15 pounds it started to become difficult to carry her in the Bjorn. There is a crossbar on the backstraps that are a little fiddly- if you don't position them exactly where they need to be the carrier will really pinch your shoulders and it's not comfortable at all. I also noticed that the heavier she became the more often the fiddly crossbar would actually move while we were out and it's near to impossible to adjust it on your own unless you take the baby out which is a big hassle really.
The baby is also "suspended" basically by their crotch which I can't imagine would be super comfortable.
The pros are that the baby can be facing in towards you or outwards to see the world (after they can hold their head up on their own). My daughter really liked this aspect as she became more aware of her surroundings.
As a new mum, I wanted to pick the best baby carrier that would be comfortable for my baby yet compliment my lifestyle as well. We are a very active family and I needed something sturdy but uncomplicated at the same time- the last thing you want to deal with is straps and clips everywhere when you're just trying to go out and enjoy the day. My little girl is 6 months old and she absolutely loves the Ergo Carrier! With the Ergo Carrier, I can carry her on my front, on my back and on my hip. It is super easy to switch her from the front to the back and with a little practice, I can do it in less than a minute now. The best thing about this carrier is that I don't even notice that I'm carrying her. She's 18 pounds and her weight is distributed in such a way that it is comfortable to walk long distances with her and it's not a problem at all! In fact yesterday we walked over 6 miles and we were both happy and comfortable.
The carrier is ergonomically designed in a way so that the baby's legs straddle your waist/back or hip and it is so comfortable for them. They basically sit in this cozy little pocket of ultra sturdy material and enjoy watching the world- so they are more "seated" than "suspended" like many other carriers on the market. There is also a sleep hood that can be used for the baby when they fall asleep when you are out and about which happens quite often! Another feature is that the baby can breastfeed while in the carrier which is very convenient, easy and discreet.
The carrier is so well made and very high-quality. All of the stitching is reinforced and the buckles are strong and tested at 90 pounds. There are several colours to choose from, we got the galaxy grey because it's not gender specific, so will suit girls and boys. The little embroidered stars add such a nice little touch.
I would recommend this carrier hands down over any other that we have tried (which is about 8 others). While it may be a little on the pricey side, it is absolutely worth it and I couldn't recommend it enough!
