I travel to London on the virgin train service pretty much every weekend and from my experience they have always been reliable and conducive of a good journey. I don't think that i have ever actually been delayed ever, so their record for me is excellent.
The trains that are used are all of the exact same quality and standard. That is ti say that they all have clean functioning toilets, ample leg space, over head storage compartments, tables every four rows, a trolley person that brings refreshments and a fairly pleasant atmosphere. The trains are always cleaned prior to passengers getting on as well. Which really does help to maintain a nice feel to the whole train experience.
If you are looking for cheap fares from London to Manchester for example then visit the virgin trains special offers section they offer some really great deals if you book in advance and you can even get a return from Lonon to Manchester for as little as 6 pounds. That is however a little unpredictable. If you use a railcard as well then fares get cheaper and cheaper. They also offer a fast ticket collection that you can do from one of the terminals in the station this saves time and means you can fly through the crowds.
I would say that the virgin trians service was extremely pleasant and enjoyable to use. It is certainly one of the best that i have ever been on. Thumbs up.
Ugg boots were originally produced in Australia as a boot used by herdsmen for wading through the mud and harsh terrain of Austrlia. This means that the material used to produce the boots is durable and strong. The inner lining of the boot is made from sheeps wool and acts as a brilliant form of insulation during the winter period. The outer layer is made from tanned leather and adds a great effect to the boots and keeps them water proof as well. It is a good idea to buy some protective spray though as sometimes cracking and damage can occur when the boots get soiled and wet if they are not given a coat of leather treatment, which can be picked up from any good shoe shop.
I bought my girlfreind a pair of ugg boots for her birthday two years ago and she really loved them. They are however ridiculously expensive. This is probably for good reason though as they are made from some really high quality materials and they seem to last forever, hers still look brand new.
She did however have a bit of a problem with them soon after she bought them. The sheeps wool lining that is covered on the inside of the boot developed a hole in it and strarted to wear through. This was a great shame as i had spent 170 pounds on the boots in the first place. However i was able to take the boots back to where i bought them from and exchange them for a brand new pair. Which was lucky.
All in all though the boots are a great purchase and have lasted a long time after the inital incident and my girlfreind is very pleased with them. They are a great looking boot and i must admit i have tried them on and they are very comfortable. Thumbs up.
Burger makes some really good and tasty burgers. Having said that i am a little dubious as to the whereabouts of the meat products. Like any fast food chain i am sure they use the lowest grade meat that they possibly can in order to increase profits. No surprise there. Burger king chips are in my opnion the best out of any fast food chain. They are slightly thicker than Mcdonalds ones and they are so much tastier as well. The Bacon double cheese burger is the only Burger that is worth eating from Burger King it is really quite a tasty burger. There is a good amount of burger for the size of the bun and the bacon is delicious as well. The cheese simply tops off the whole burger make it a hit in my books.
One of the best things about burger ing is that it is quick and cheap. You can get a burger within minutes and have enough food to fill you for under a fiver. It is in my opinion the best of the burger bars/ fast food places.
Am I lovin' it? I'm certainly not loving your grammar that's for sure. I am so unsure about Mcdonalds. Sometimes it is really nice to grab a burger from Mcdonalds just for a quick bite to eat. One does however regret eating it immediately. I always feel really sick afterwards and think it wasn't worth getting.
The chicken selects are surely the only way to go with Mcdonalds these days. The chicken is tender and lovely and you get to choose which sauce you want with your meal, either sweet chilli or bbq are the extra special ones. I have only ever eaten the burgers and chicken selects and nuggets and in my opinion the selects are easily the best.
One good thing about Mcdonalds is you know what you are going to get, as every store is exactly the same and they differ very little. If you have never been to Mcdonalds, which is unlikely, it is worth a trip to see what you think.
Is ther anything cooler than a Bonsai tree? I think not. My girlfreind bought me a Bonsai tree for Valentines day last year and i love it. I have a chinese elm which is highly recommended for people who are just starting out with Bonsai trees as it is probably the easiest one to keep. It also looks really good as well.
Bonsai trees were started in Japan and have been very popular all over the world ever since. Some are notoriously hard to keep but all are well worth giving a go. It is easy enough to find information about bonsai trees on websites so that makes keeping them a little easier. Some trees can even grow fruits which i would say was pretty cool. Others can also bloom beautiful flowers.
All in all Bonsai trees are an excellent little hobby but it is important to do research so you know what you are doing and so you don't kill it. Also you need to prune these trees so make sure that you have all the correct equipment before you start.
The Volkswagen Gold mk1 gti. Surely the finest example of a hot hatch to have graced the earth. At the moment i am seriously considering buying one of these firey little devils. They pack quite a punch and you can expect a good example to get from 0-60 in around seven seconds. Considering the age of these cars that is incredibly quick.
The vw golf gti mk1 is the definitve hot hatch. Car enthusiasts everwhere always refer to the mk1 gti as the best. It's light weight shell makes for great handling and great speeds. The interior of the car is also very good to look at as well. although most examples do suffer from wear to the seats as well as other areas in the car.
The volkswagen golf r32 weighs double the mk1 golf but boasts a 3.2 litre engine the speed of the two is obviously different but somehow one feels more in tune with a mk1 golf than the r32. I have owned an r32 and have driven many golf mk1s without doubt the more pleasurable experience comes from the mk1. It is quick and so unrefined and old school that i dare anyone not to enjoy driving it. A brillinat all round car. I love it.
Brick lane market has so much to offer it really does have something for everyone. There are sellers in the streets that sell all kinds of goodies and treats. Some of fair origin others i'm sure of somewhat dubious whereabouts. They sell in the middle of the street and offer some really good deals as well. The trick is to not accept the first price they give you though as they will always come down. In some respects it reminds me of markets abroad and has a really nice bustly atmosphere.
One bit of advoce though is that you shouldn't buy bikes from the vendors as they are almost certainly stolen. Having said that though some of the actual stalls i'm sure offer some really good quality bikes that are brand new or second hand. You can buy fruit, veg, clothes, household items and so much more.
This is a great place to come to have a little look and soak up the great atmosphere.
I havbe always though that sainsburys is too expensive and rightly so. The standard of the food is really actually quite disappointing in comparison to other stores such as Tesco who provide an equal standard of food for a significantly reduced price.
There is a sainsburys down the road from me in Fallowfield in Manchester. It is really the only supermarket around and i would say that it is for that reason and that reason alone that the store is still open. The shelves are very rarely stacked to capacity and it seems like the staff don't really care about their job and they are most unhelpfull. If people had another option then the store would not be open.
All in all i would say that Sainsburys is a disappointing and not terribly great super market. The 'own' brand products are particuarly dissapointing especially the cider. Not good at all if you ask me. Don't come here to shop.
Classic fm is available throughout the globe on their website and on digital radio stations. One of the most popular parts of the radio station is the classic fm hall of fame. This is extremely popular especially with my parents. The station provides a run down of the 300 most popular classical songs and scores. The music is really worth a listen and it is easy to get caught up in the atmosphere of the station.
Some of the presenters on the show include, Nick Bailey, Howard Goodall and Mike Read. They are all excellent and provide some really enjoyable interluding pieces prior and after the scores played.
I used to hate classic fm. My parents would always put it on every time that we ate a meal together, when i was a teenager i couldn't stand it. I have now grown to accept classic fm and have actually grown fairly fond of it as well.
The station provides some really great music. They play songs that i even know as well. At christmas Classic fm is especially nice to listen to as it plays some really great songs. For instance the snowman and others like that including bach and other very famous composers.
The presenting on Classic fm is also very good they rarely make mistakes and everything just slots together so smoothly. One critisism that i do have is that they alientate a younger audience by talking in a certain way. Other than that though io would say that it is really a really good radio station if you fancy some lovely classical songs.
Well if you ask me this is certainly no Top Gear. The presenters of the show are really poor in my opinion they give very little if any relevant information to the car enthusiast. They may well provide accurate information about bluetooth headsets and which is the best but who cares? Not mw that's for sure.
The whole of fifth gear seems to have copied the style of Top gear. They really have mucked it up a bit as well. The presenters provide very little humour to the show and i cannot belive that it is till on the television.
Probably the only saving grace of the entire shoow is Tiff neddle. He offers up some excellent advice on car buying and really knows how to streetch a car to it's limits. This however is the only enjoyable bit of the entire show.
Top gear is without doubt a far better option for the car enthusiast, offering more relevant and better information. The guests on top gear are also terrible. No good all round.
Ah the south east what a glorious and wonderful place to reside. I was brought up in the south east of england and i have to say that it is my favourate place in england. Without doubt it is one of the most pleasant parts too. There is nothing like the south east on a warm summers day with a galss of pimms in your hand listening to some nice summer songs and enjoying the (kentish) countryside.
I was brough up in Kent which is a lovely part of the world. It has so much to offer from lovely little villages to big towns. Kent was christened the garden of england and rightly so in my opinion. It is glorious. Well worth a visit. Tunbridge Wells is probably the most well known town and is a lovely place to while away the hours.
There is something for everyone in the South east. If you are a sea loving person the the coastal towns are lovely too. Eastbourne and brighton are really special places and once you visit them you will remember them for ever.
Canterbury is another town that is definitely worth a visit as well. The cathedral is worth a trip too. There really is so much to offer in the south east that it is hard to really pin point the best little bits.
The highest praise that i could give the south east is that i could never picture living anywhere else. In my opinion there really is nowhere else in England that can provide the same weather, countryside, people and history as the South East and i for one would and could never move away. A brilliant part of the world for sure.
I used to come to wagamama every Sunday with my girlfreind after a boozy saturday night out. It is probably my favourite cure for a hangover ever. I especially enjoy the fact that the come to the table so quickly which is exactly what i was looking for on those hungry hungry hungover afternoons.
Wagamama is basically a fast food chain with a difference. The food comes really quickly but it is so healthy for you at the same time. You get the choice of having rice dishes, noodle dishes or salads. They all come super quickly as well. The food may come at different times though as it is cooked to order and doesn't hang around in the kitchen for ages before being served.
I think one of the best dishes on the menu is the chicken itame. It is a noodle dish with a slightly chilly sauce or almost soup. It is a tiny bit spicy but really hits the spot i can tell you. It is also reasonably priced at around £8 as well. Which for a main course in a restaurant that you know will fill you up is not that bad at all.
My girlfreind always orders chicken Ramen, she absoloutely loves it. I'm not so keen though simply due to the fact that it is a bit of a nothing meal and you can't really taste that much of it anything in the dish. everytime that i have ordered it i have felt a little disappointed.
One of the most popular dishes on the menu as well is the chicken Katsu. It doesn't look that tasty but it is actually quite pleasant. It is a rice dish with grilled chicken peices on top. I have found that after a while it can get a bit stodgy as well. They also do other Ramen(noodle dishes) such as chilli chicken and chillie beef, as well as some others too.
Wagamama's starters are not really starters at all. They are actually like side dishes that come at the same time as the rest of the meal. I would thoroughly recommend that Tore kare age. It is absoloutely amazing. Deep freid chicken thighs pieces with a special teriyaki style dipping sauce. YUMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!! There are also some other great side dishes as well as main courses too, most of which i have tried but can't for the life of me remember which is which.
Probably one of the most off putting things about the whole restaurant is the fact that you are seated in dinner style seats and may get lumbered sitting next to other guests. Allthough there is plenty of space i do often think that i would rather be sitting on a table for two. But then again maybe this is an attraction for some, i don't know.
I love wagamama and i think there is pretty much something for everyone in this restaurant. If you have never really treid Japanese food before then this is definitately a good way to kick start your obsession with Japanese food. YUM YUM YUM
Tesco is hwere i do my weekly shop. I would never go anywhere else i really do think that it is probably the most affordable and exceptional quality food available. Tesco offers a wide range of food from vegetables to meat, from fruit to cereals. Pretty much everything that you can think of Tesco has.
I always find when i go ino tesco they have excellently stocked shelves. There is never anything completely sold out unlike other shops in a similar price budget. It is probably true to say that the quality of Marks and Spencers food is better but somehow i feel that Tesco more than lives up to an appropriate level of quality. The range of Tesco stroes around the country as well is very extensive. They have store in just about every area that you could possibly ever think of.
Tesco also offers a fantastic on line purchase offer that means that you don't even have to leave the comfort of your own home to be able to do your shopping. They do however charge for this service though.
Another excellent bonus of buying your shopping with Tesco is the added bonus of the clubcard. You receive vouchers in the post dependent on how much you spend within the store. After a while it really does add up. You can also even get points for buying your petrol through tesco as well.
Car insurance and home insurance is also offered by Tesc at extremely reasonable prices as well. So if you are thinking of changing providers then Tesco is one to consider.
I love Tesco and will always come here no matter what. It really is an excellent store.
I am in two minds about Primark. I hate the fact that they allegedly use sweat shops to make a good percentage if not all of their clothes. But they do produce some good clothes at rediculously cheap prices.
Everytime i go into Primark i always think they could make the sotres so much more tidies and better laid out. The clothes always seem to be a mess and the order to which they are placed around stores seems so haphazard. I thnk if you are looking for a pleasurable shopping experience then this probably is not the shop for you.
The store does offer some gift cards so if you fancy buying some one the gift of clothes but are just not too sure what they will like, then a gift card is certainly a good option.
I have to say though that i don't really agree with what Primark are doing they seem to have taken over most high streets and created an epidemic of cheap and chuck away clothing. I think that a more pleasurable shopping experience can be had elsewhere.
I dont really think that you go too far wrong with Ikea. They do so many great quality and excellent products. Ikea often buys huge buildings and fills them with cheap furniture, fittings, materials and homeware. In my opinion it is a brilliant store.
As you walk in the shop you can simply grab a trolley and then the arrows on the floor direct you around the store so you can buy everything that you want. I recently went shopping here and got some really great products for my bedroom and my house.
If you get hungry half way round as well you can stop in and get a bite to eat at the restaurant that is actually really good quality. There is a choice of salads or hot meals. They are all reasonably priced as well.
I think the homeware section is particularly good and you can get some pretty good quality materials for some good prices. I also thought the bathware section was really well priced as well.
My girlfeind also bought her bed at Ikea and it is absoloutely huge. They only sell massive beds and it was only around 100 for the base as well and another 100 for the mattress which i thought was a great price.
I would say though if i was buying furniture for my proper house and not just my student house i probably would not come to IKEA. Simply because the quality of some of the furniture is not that great
