The phone is very good looking, it has metallic back and sides with a glossy black front, the size is good, its slim but not to slim and is the height of any normal candybar phone, it is slightly wider than most phones but this is to accommodate the touchscreen, the phone looks excellent and is one of the most stylish around, it looks very cool.
Even though the phone is touchscreen it has three handy controls, one on the right side near the bottom for the camera, one to change volume with one touch on the left side. The other is the main control used for bringing up a handy shortcut menu and also the call and call end buttons, the phone has been excellently designed for easy use as theses buttons along with the touchscreen make for easy use.
The touchscreen is good for calls but takes a while to get used to for scrolling and texting however it is not difficult although it is not quite as intuitive as it could be. The phone is good for viewing pictures and it also has a good music player and video player, it can browse the internet well and is generally a good all round media device. It can take good pictures with the 5mp camera although i still prefer a digital camera.
The main thing for me is the call quality when it comes to phones as you need to be able to hear the person you are talking to clearly, i found with the 3g turned on that the call quality is excellent and it is still good without it, you can hear people well even in low signal areas which is very good. I am pleased to say that this phone is very good and samsung have made it well, the only annoyance i have is not having a 3.5mm headphone jack to listen to music and the relatively short battery life. So far this phone has been completely reliable and has never failed on me once.
This phone is free on contract and costs around 250pounds to buy so it is not overly expensive
Arctic Monkeys released this album in 2007 just over a year after the initial success of their first album Whatever People Say I am That's What I'm Not. The Arctic Monkeys had a lot do with this album to at least maintain the standard of the first album as it was very good, after listening to this album I am pleased to say that I think they have done a good job with it.
The popular indie rock band from Sheffield have included 12 tracks on the album, in my opinion this is about the right amount of tracks for an album. Another thing they have done well is that they have made every single track sound different so each is individual and easy to remember. The album contains mainly fast paced tracks in the monkeys normal style but they have also included a couple of slower tracks which is a clever move.
I don't think this album has done any harm to the arctic monkeys, if anything it has probably boosted their popularity, all the tracks are good, my particular favorites are;
"Old Yellow Bricks"
Although I like all the songs these are the ones that stand out most, if you have not got this album you really should especially if you are a fan of indie rock music.
I'd have to say this is one of kelloggs worst ideas to date, suck milk up through cocoa pops straws as a breakfast cereal, seriously what were they thinking? Well I don't know but I have bought these before and well I've definitely experienced better breakfasts.
The straws are made from a kind of wafer lined with chocolate, the idea is that your supposed to suck up the milk through the straw and the chocolate is meant to make the milk chocolaty and nice. In theory this may work but it just doesn't in reality.
First of all when you suck up the milk it just tastes like milk as no chocolate actually gets off the inside of the straw so you may as well just drink a cup of milk. Then the wafer bits crumble off into the milk so you end up with soggy wafer bits in your milk which isn't nice.
I found the best possible use for the straws is to eat them as a snack food. The straws actually taste alright but they are quite expensive and if you want a prope snack food then it would be better value for money to buy some biscuits or something.
If I were you I would never bother buying these for breakfast as they are a bit of a farse, if you like coco pops just stick with the nrmal box of cereal as it is much better than this rubbish attempt at making a new style of cereal.
Frijj has been at th forefront of the milkshake market in the UK and is probably one of the most popular milkshake brands you can buy. In any supermarket you will find the FRIJJ milkshakes on the milk aisle or somewhere near the milk.
If I have milkshake it is almost always a Frijj, they come in many different flavours, There are 5 in total;
Chocolate Fudge Brownie
Chocolate & Orange
In the past there have also been Toffee Caramel flavour and raspberry flavour but these are out of production currently. I'm sure Frijj will come up with some new flavours in the future but the selection they have on offer is more than enough for me at the moment. I have tried all flavours and Chocolate Fudge Brownie is my favourite, it's absolutely scrumptious. However all the flavours taste very nice but this is just my personal favourite.
The texture of the milkshake is very smooth and the milkshake is very thick. If you drink a whole bottle which is 500ml you are sure to be full as drinking these satisfies your belly more than a chocolate bar would. The taste of all the milkshakes is quite sweet but not sickly, It is a nice refreshing taste that actually lasts quite a long time in your mouth after finishing off the drink.
These milkshakes have quite a high sugar content but contain a lot of calcium to so they are good and bad, so if your trying to stay healthy don't have one of these for breakfast every day. One final point I would like to make is that you should definitely drink this cold as it tastes far nice when it's cold and loses it's wow factor if it's warm. Ideally you want to drink this straight out the fridge.
I like this product and it usually costs just under a £1 for a 500ml bottle in any flavour. They are on offer in tesco for less han 50p at the moment though
Unlike most McVities products Mini Cheddars are a savoury snack rather than a sweet biscuit style snack food which is McVities specialty. As you would imagine original flavour in min cheddars is a little bit cheesy to say the least. However the flavour is just about right, not to cheesy, just about the right amount of cheddar.
McVities Mini Cheddars would probably classed as crisps as they are that style but as they are made by McVities i am going to say they are like savoury style biscuit. The Cheddars have a good cheese flavoured taste and they also have a light crunchiness to them. Mini Cheddars are shaped like small little round discs. The Mini Cheddars come in a small little yellow/orange coloured packet and usually come in multipacks of 6 for about £2.
This snack is certainly high in calories and it is a good filling snack which is the whole reason for snacks. So I would rate the McVities Mini Cheddars pretty highly as a snack food because it is filling between meals and they are fairly tasty.
Salt & Shake is from the 'walkers' brand of crisps, they come in a white and blue pack and can be bought individually for about 50p and for about £2 for a set of 6. You can probably guess what you have to do with salt and shake to get them to taste nice, yes you got it, you have to add the salt to the crisps and shake the packet about to add salt to all crisps as evenly as possible.
If you eat these crisps without the salt added they are very plain and don't really taste of anything other than the potatoes there made from. The problem with these crisps is that the salt really doesn't get spread about well enough and you end up with too much salt on some of the crisps and to much on other crisps.
To be honest if you want ready salted crisps your better off going for a standard pack of walkers rather than this less than satisfying option. It's a snack that isn't great at filling you up, it gives you greasy fingers and it isn't particularly healthy and the crisps only taste alright so your probably best off eating something else if your hungry.
Pringles are one of my favorite types of crisps, they are also great party food. Pringles come in a cylinder shaped container with a foil seal and a plastic lid. The original flavour comes in a red coloured cylinder. Pringles original are basically ready salted flavour but they are like no other crisp in shape, design, texture and taste.
The crisps are made in oval shape and are curved. Pringles are also great tasting which is really the whole point of a snack food like this. The pringles have a good taste, they are quite salty but without the flavour being to harsh.
I don't often have pringles, I only usually buy them when they on offer or for occasions where you need loads of food such as a family party as they are expensive. Also eating pringles isn't exactly healthy, high in salt and not full of much good stuff so don't eat these to often if you want to stay healthy
Pringles are one of those foods you just keep eating when they are there, I could eat a whole tube happily as they taste excellent, one of the mottos that pringles brand has is 'once you pop you just don't stop' and it is true. These crisps taste really nice.
Pendulum are a drum and bass band that originated in Australia. Hold Your Colour is the first album that the band have produced. The band are now producing there music in the UK as the music scene is bigger over here. However the band aren't that well known and this album has barely been noticed so far.
Although the band isn't that well known in the mainstream pop music industry plenty of indie labels have noticed them and rightly so as they are an excellent band and there music shows that.
For a first album 'Hold Your Colour' is really good stuff and though it won't appeal to everyone many people who i've shown this album too have been impressed with it even though they are not drum and bass fans.
The album consists of 14 tracks and was originally released in 2005 before being slightly changed and re released in 2007. The 2007 version is the one I have.
A lot of the music contains punchy basslines underneath an electronica beat. All the tracks are excellently mixed and each one feels different and new. There is influences from all over the place on this album from all different genres such as dance, reggae, hip-hop, rock and pop music.
I really like this album, each song lasts about 5-6 minutes and this is quite long but a lot of the tracks gradually builds up from the beginning into something a lot louder. This is an album you can relax to or really dance to, I know that sounds odd but its true as each song has peaks and trofs, some get faster then slow down and then build back up again and it is a really impressive sounding album.
My Favourite Tracks:
Sounds Of Life
Hold Your Colour
As you can see out of 14 I have 8 favourites which really shows how good this album is as I couldn't leave any of them out due to them all being very good tracks
One of things I think you could do is play the whole album at a party and everyone would be happy as you can dance to any of the songs and there all loud enough and fastest enough and different enough to be enjoyed by a variety of people.
Two of the songs have also featured on other things apart from the album. 'Slam' featured on the game 'Motorstorm' on the PS3 and 'Tarantula' featured on 'Channel 4' show 'Skins'
Overall an excellent album and I would say have a listen to it first before you buy it, I would have to say you've probably never heard anything like it. A great introduction to drum & bass.
Mint Aero Bubbles, well the first thing I think of is that they have combined mint with chocolate, in my opinion not the best ever combination of ingredients that has ever been thought up. I have never been much of a mint and chocolate fan, don't get me wrong I like both flavours individually but in this product they don't particularly match all that well.
The aero bubbles are like small little balls of chocolate and look similar to maltesers but a bit smaller but they are a whole lot different as when you bite into them they are filled with soft bubbly aero chocolate. Because of the aero and the way it melts in your mouth the texture of this edible product is very smooth and feels quite nice to eat. One of the things this product leaves is not the nicest of aftertastes. However it won't really make your breath smell bad.
I think that the combination is bad as I said earlier and I would much rather just have the standard bar of aero as I feel it tastes nicer simply due to the fact that it is chocolate on it's own which is taste that can rarely be beaten. The taste of the mint in this product overpowers the chocolate a bit to much in my opinion.
So in conclusion I would say that the aero bubbles are nicely textured but the taste is a little to minty for my liking. If you have 40p-50p to waste then aero bubbles might just be to your liking but if you don't want to buy this product then your not exactly mising out on anything special.
Scouting for Girls are one of the most recent bands to bring there mainstream debut album. It was pretty successful as well which suggests it's a pretty good album. Scouting for Girls album is called Scouting for Girls so it's self titled and most people who have the album probably bought the album on the strength of the two singles, She's So Lovely and Elvis Ain't Dead.
If you liked the two singles I can guarantee that you will like most of the rest of the album as much of it follows on from the singles with a very good pop sound and excellent repetitive pop lyrics and if you like the singles then go and buy the album. I think this is a band you either love or hate because some people find them really annoying but others love the catchy pop tunes.
Obviously on the album I would recommend the songs, 'She's So Lovely' and 'Elvis Ain't Dead' but I would also have to say there are several other songs on the album that I like.
Of these other songs the last track is particularly good, 'James Bond' as the last part of the track features a funny set of lyrics about how the singer used to fancy Michaela Strachan.
Overall if you like good pop music then this is an album you will like, if you don't then never get this album as it will most likely annoy the hell out of you.
The CD can be found at any record store
Shock Value is the latest album to be released in the UK by super producer Timbaland. The album contains a mixture of Hip-Hop and R&B tunes and has a total of 19 tracks. Every Track is individual an there is a lot of creativity on this album and this is down to there being over 20 different artists featured on this album. One of the problems with this is that the album doesn't really flow. However there is a number of great tracks that are on this album as well as a few bits of garbage.
This is the opening track and it is a good intriguing track that makes you want to listen to the rest of the album.
Give It To Me:
This is the second track on the album and was released as a single, It is a really good modern day R&B song that will appeal to many people as it features Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake.
The Way I Are:
Very similar to Give It To Me although it has a bit more of a hip hop vibe with the artist D.O.E. included on the track
Also on top of this tracks 7-11 are very good and flow quite well and this is probably the best part of the album for me.
7 Kill Yourself
10 Scream (Released as a single)
After this there is a very odd song that features fall out boy, as you can guess it doesn't really work.
Then the last real good track on the album is Apologize which features up and coming artists OneRepublic, the track was a huge single and is also featured on there own album.
Overall Timbaland's work is good although there is a few duff tracks but thats probably because the album features so many different artists and has so many tracks.
This album certainly offers value for money as it contains many tracks and this album is probably suitable for you if your favourite genre is R&B, however the album is also suitable for others as it has quite an eclectic mix of tracks.
The feeling released this album in the year of 2006. It is called 12 stops and home and as you can guess it contains 12 tracks. The album is one of the best I've heard that came out in 2006 and I'd say that I don't dislike any of the songs on the album.
One of the good things about this album is that the worst songs are average and there are several really good songs, I would say that seven or eight of the songs on the album would be worthy of a release as a single.
Twelve Stops and home has a very good pop music feel about it, the album contains a lot of catchy and uplifting songs that I could happily listen to any day of the week.
I would highly recommend anyone to go and get this album no matter what there taste in music is as twelve stops and home is full of fun catchy pop tracks and the lyrics are fairly good to. Also this album is just about the right size at 12 tracks and it lasts for about an hour. I bought this album two years ago and I still listen to it today as it is probably one of the best albums I have.
Best Tracks In My Opinion Are:
Fill My Little World
I Love It When You Call
I fancied upgrading my tv in the bedroom, I was looking for something that was fairly small, I didn't want something too big as my bedroom aint massive. So in the twenty inches category I had a few options but the Sony KDL was the most appealing.
There were several reasons I found the tv to be attractive. One of the first reasons was that it was the perfect size and I could get it in the colour I wanted which was silver. It also comes in black or white as well as the silver.
The sound was meant to be fairly impressive as it has a large speaker underneath the screen with dolby digital surround sound technology. I found it to be fairly good until I changed the settings. Then once I put it in dolby digital mode then it was excellent. It is good for just a speaker underneath the tv screen as sometimes it can sound as if you've got speakers all around yourself. Apart from this the sound is crystal clear and you won't be dissapointed with it.
Another thing that was good about the tv was the fact that it was HD ready, although it isn't full HD at 720p it is still good for a small screen. Picture quality is absolutely fantastic on this thing, you can watch anything and it looks good on this thing, and its brilliant when you put it on HD. I hook my xbox 360 up to it and you can't get a better looking image on a screen of this size anywhere else.
As it's an LCD the screen does not take up a lot of space. This thing is also freeview ready so you don't need a freeview box to take advantage of all the free channels you can get.
Overall this tv looks good in the room has excellent picture quality and the sound is clean and crisp, it has connections for loads of things and it doesn't look half bad. I would recommend this tv for anyone needing a screen in the bedroom or kitchen that isn't to big or small. The tv cost me only £319 from John Lewis but this tv normally retails for about £400.
Match Of The Day 2 was brought in due to the amount of football matches that are played on sundays nowadays. Of course nobody got to see the action that happened on sunday because there was only match of the day on a saturday. Because of the demand to see football action BBC managed to put a second match of the day on tv last season to let everyone view all the action that happened over the whole weekend. Of course the show is put on BBC 2 so not to interfere with the sunday night line up on BBC 1. So basically putting it on BBC 2 keeps everyone happy.
Any true fan wants to see all the action from England's top league and MOTD2 gives them a chance to do this. MOTD2 shows all the action from Sundays with about 10-15 minutes highlights of each game. Also for anyone that missed Saturdays Match Of The Day the goals from all the other premier league games are shown.
The show is good and features different guests every week. The show is usually fronted by Adrian Chiles and it is actually quite a fun program to watch. Each match is lightly analysed by the Presenter and the guests. Also the show finishes off with a few funny things that happened during the weekends football.
As well as this the league table is shown so you can find out how well or how badly your team is doing. The team also sometimes discuss who's going to win the league or who's going to go down etc etc. The show also features player and coaching staff interviews so you can find out just what the professionals think of what happened in there games
Overall MOTD2 is a good entertaining way to see all the weekends premier league football action. If your not into football then don't bother watching it but if you want to you can usually catch it on a sunday night at 10pm on BBC2
This is without the best channel that I hav on freeview, well it is certainly the most watched, this is because it includes so many great shows. Seriously this is the best channel ever.
Timeless classic, a great show that they continue to show on E4 even though the show hasn't produced a new episode for a few years. Many still follow friends and when youve got nothing else to do this fills a few hours
Great drama about poor people living on a council estate in britain. Lots of drinking, violence, sex and skirmishes with the police. Just what we like to see.
Best teen drama there is on tv at the moment includes a lot of 15+ topics on the show but that is why its on late. Really entertaining and probably one of the best things to watch for 16-25 year olds at the moment
Big Bang Theory
American comedy about geeks, it is really quite funny and is well worth a watch, unlike ny other show ive seen recently.
Big Brother USA
Like Big Brother hear except the americans dramatise evrything 10 times more than they need to.
Other Good Shows
Dirty Sexy Money
One Tree Hill
Brothers & Sisters
Theres also loads of other great shows and they repeat things late at night and you can watch stuff an hour later on E4+1 if you missed it on E4
Its on channel 29 freeview for anyone that doesn't know
I'd say its well worth a watch because theres a whole variety of different dramas and comedies that theres bound to be something you will like
