Ok so im trying to save money at the moment with my food cause i buy far too much expensive foods and wanted to try cheaper alternatives.
SO i love sweet and sour, ilove chicken, i love rice, but i dont love this.
I mean im not going to slate the product too much since i should have expected the quality with the price ticket, and too be honest in my opinion, only students would eat this.
Like on most foods, that packaging makes it look appertising, but when its on your plate its a whole other story.
So where shall i start:
Followed the cooking instructions and of course had to put a little more time onto it (im a good cook) lol, so not really any problems there.
The bullets---oh i mean rice.
this was not nice at all, it was not overcooked or undercooked at all but the texture of the rice was awful, it was like overcooked basmati rice but like 4 grains stuck together lol.
Now the slop--sauce
Dispite looking like sweet and sour sauce, i may have well just gone to mcdonalds and asked for like 10 pots of their dipping sauce. It was awful, did not taste of very much either, as well of having a two toned sauce (watery on top of really really thick..litterally could have bounced it off the floor) but mixed togther it went sort of back to its original state.
Chicken........was it chicken....i dunno
Basically probably the offcuts of there value range of fresh chicken, it had the texture of pot noodle soya peices i mean it was gross. And again because of the price what should i expect, the amount of chicken in it was questionable.
This is an amazing product that i came to use about 3 weeks ago as my carpet at home started to smell a bit granny house'ish and i wanted to freshen it up. I have in the past used shake and vac but that did not last long at all, plus you have to get the vac out, and as you all know, if there is something that takes less time and effort, we are bound to try it. This is where this product comes in.
ALl you need to do is just hold it upside down and spray away directly onto carpets (and not just carpets but sofas, teddy bears (lol) and other fabrics) and watch these polystyrene like fluff balls spray everywhere that soak into the fabric and disappear within seconds leaving a wonderful fresh smell. Mind you i have sprayed it all over my partner for fun haha. But serious note, this is a product well worth getting for your home, its not expensive and unless ya want to get out your carpet cleaner, i would use this.
Admittingly when i first used it i thought it smelled like bubblegum haha, but after the initial spray the scent is wonderful. Its a great welcome into a room, and definatly when you have guests cause they always comment on how fresh it smells :), not that i am a dirty person though lol.
You knoe what.... why pay over the odds for a hand blender when you can get one for 8 quid and its does the job just as well.
This is my newest gadget in the kitchen and has now become a regular feature whilst cooking. It blends foods really well with no effort needed and is so easy to clean it makes me laugh.
I also have a normal blender and thats terrible to clean but on this one all you need to do is put it under the tap (hot water) and give it a little wash with some fairy liquid and then thats it.
The only bad point to this (which is probably my own fault) is that when you use it for the first few times, you are bound to get splashed, but thats what you get for pressing the button thinking it would slowely mulch down what ya want blending, but you do get used to it after a while....maybe this is for all hand blenders but never mind lol.
All in all a great cheap product for anyones kitchen.
2 Years ago, me and my partner celebrated our love and went on a cheap honeymoon to manchester. We didnt have a lot of money and wanted somewhere cheap to crash after the 3 hour drive up there. We were going to spend the next 2 days visiting my family and going to the peak district just next to manchester.
However the stay (if you can call it that) was not too be.
After getting there and checking in, all was good (what you expect from travelodge), however there were some guests there that wern't ver friendly and the rooms were not good at all.
Our double room was on the top floor and the paint work was faded, there was dirt on the skirtings, the bathroom was not cleaned properly and there was no toilet paper (great start)
Next thing was our neighbours in the hotel, who were very high on weed as we smelt it. At the start we turned a blind eye and went out to get a chippy for dinner, as nothing beats a northern chippy. When we got back, it seemed that the neighbours had been getting a little restless in the hotel room and were srawled in the corridoor. They then followed us to our room trying to look in.
We at this time were a bit scared so waited for them to get into their room and we went down to complain, however the receptionist at that time didn't really care, and would not do anything about it.
We got back to our room and again we were watched and followed to our room. By this time (1am) we were petrified, so again waited for them to get in the room (obviously for another smoke) and we left, giving the reasons why and spent the night driving back 3 hours.
I thought that if people were smoking in the rooms they would be told to stop or leave or in this case the police rung to get rid of them, but nothing was done. the only good point to this is that Travelodge gave us the money back for that stay after we complained.
I will again stay at a travelodge but never agin even contemplate staying at that one.
I would recomend that people stay at a travelodge near to that one thats not so run down like manchester street oldham or ashton under lyme.
This is by far the best cheap version of jack daniels you can buy, Its got the closest taste and even though its slightly (ever so) more expensive than the tesco and asda version, it is definitely worth the extra for the taste.
Like the Robinson's select i just reviewed, this is another liquid i buy on a regular basis (not 4 a month though, im no alcoholic lol)
Its a great adition to anybody's drinks cabinet and for half the price of jack daniels, well why not.
Even if your not a bourbon drinker, anyone will be happy to have a drink of this and will enjoy the mellow taste.
This goes well with many mixer, like coke of course, lemonade, soda water and apple juice , which is my favorite at the moment, called an Apple Jack (ps i may be behind the times with tat but i only tasted it a little while ago and since i get bloated on coke, its a great alternative)
After I realised one shopping trip that i could not buy the robinsons high juice anymore, about 2 weeks later i found out why. They had bought out a new variety of juice out called select in three flavours --- Orange, Mandarin and Peach, Apple & Wild Blueberry --- Red Grape, Pomegranate & Raspberry. I was a bit unsure to buy as they were like £1.69 a bottle but i thought after trying morrisons own high juice (yak but thats another story) lets give it a go, and wow is all i can say.
I tried the Apple and wild blueberry drink and since then have continued to buy it. I dont like any other make cause the juices taste fake and full of sweetners, where as this select range taste fresh and are full of fruity flavours for any palette.
Mind you i go through like 4 bottles a month but for the taste it is really worth it. In my opinion i would go and try this flavour above the others as its the nicest one i have had out of the range.
I did hit gold last month as tesco were doing it £1 a bottle (bought 8 bottles haha) and thats how good it is.
Just try it, and you will know how juice really should taste YUM!!!!!, lol in fact im drinking it right now
The funny little gift that looks the part but really does not do anything. The thought was there for this gift and it was such a funny thing (which was the intent) but when i thought, hmmmn lets see if it works, it just makes a noise and sucks up micro molecules and thats just about it. However it does look good on my computer desk at work.
If you are thinking about buying a mini vac just for your desktop area, dont, none of them really work, they are just a gimmick, dont be lazy and use your duster and some polish lol.
However if you want to create a few laughs then this is the thing best suited for a gift, definitely if you have not got much money to spend and they are an office worker.
However please be aware that you need to provide batteries for this and they only last like 2 mins in this funny little thing
I was pleasantly surprised with this dryer when i got round to using it that is. Although a bigger drum would have been good i am quite happy with it, and since it came with the flat bah...no complaints.
I have always been worried about condenser dryers that they will shrink your clothes but i honestly have not noticed it with this particular dryer.
Exept for it being the loudest thing and using like 3kw of energy it does a good job in drying garments fast and doe not burn ya hands when you take the clothes out after the drying cycle (as i found to happen with the vented dryer i used to have)
Mind you, the water collection tank is a nightmare to empty, not once yet have i managed to get it out of the dryer without spilling the water down myself lol.
The filter is also easy to empty which makes life a little easier, but i have noticed that fluff goes everywhere in the dryer which is again a bit of a pain but hey it came with the flat lol.
I have got hold of a Ford Zetec 1.6 diesel 2009 plate, and at the moment i have a kia Rio 3 1.5 diesel 2008 plate as well. SO really i can compare these cars together for a start. (PS i know this is not about comparing a different car to the ford, but i gotta work on something)
No first of all will be engine performance:
Well while the zetec boasts it can go 0 - 60 in a matter of about 10 seconds and the kia 12 seconds, i have yet still to notice if the ford is faster than the kia, it certainly does not feel like it can. To be quite honest it feels like im driving a tank, the ford is so heavy where the kia is light.
Now about the handling.
Well because the ford is like a tank it sticks to the ground and you can wrap it around corners where in the kia i can get the same handling but feels less sturdy, which to be honest makes the kia more fun.
Next would be Miles to the Gallon:
Now the kia boasts 65 miles to the gallon but i get about 54 but in the ford i get 48 which is to be expected from a heavier car, however the tax makes the kia more affordable as its only £25 a year. :) and more eco friendly
Really depends on what you like, fords have a recognisable look, i think both cars arent that great looking lol, but the interior is another matter, the ford looks more executive than the kia, i do prefer the interior of the ford.
Now heres the difference, as well as everything being cheaper on the kia as running costs are concerned, the buying price is very differnt as well The ford comes at £13,000 and for that price you get the car and a few extras as well. I would not really pay this much for the ford as i dont think its worth it and whilst the kia cost 10,000 when i bought it new, i think i will just stick to that.
ALL in ALL:
Good car for families and estate agents but not for me, iyts a reliable car and the hands free is nifty, but i find the focus rather boring to drive and just sluggish. I far more prefer the older style of the focus and the older engine as well.
one of these shops just opened a few months ago where i work and i have never looked back. There is so much choice and the range is extensive, and every time you go in there, there is something new to strike your eye.
Last week i bought 2 vanilla pods (and you know how expensive they are) and it cost me 25p, i could not believe it, so i thought "hmmmn, whats the date on them, i bet you only have a month left" however they are good for 2 years, i bought like 6 packets of it and gave some to my mum, who again could not believe it.
Also in the store i bought a big 7.5kg box of surf orientals for £12.99, now since a 2 kilo box costs upto £5 in the supermarket, again i had to have it, and 4 months down the line, still using it.
Be very careful when buying food products, while the price may be low, the dates are nearing the end of the best before, so if you dont intend on using the goods right away dont bother. Also be on the look out for goods that are beyond the sell by date, as i have found a few that i was going to buy but then decided against because of this.
As well as cleaning and food, they also do household goods, decor and furniture, Though i have not bought any furniture from this shop, it does look like the cheapest furniture you could find, but then again what do you expect for the price.
They also sell a range of kitchen appliances that are cheaper tha the main stores and also do a wide range of toys.
I think this shop is great for the recession stricken family and where you can save money, i think i will be correct saying this, its worth the visit!!!!.
I have been using littlewoods for the last 2 years and i have been very impressed. However i have found that a lot of other people aren't such a fan of them and i'm not sure why.
Yes you do get items on credit which is all fine and dandy plus yes gain its interest free for paying over a year and yes again its 29.9% apr if you do it over 2 or 3 years.
The prices you will find are slightly higher when doing it on credit than buying it outright ( comparing both littlewoods.co.uk and littlewoods-direct.co.uk) but i really dont mind, simply because with not such a great credit rating and in dyer need of a bed, Littlewoods was the only one to give me credit to get the bed.
In regards to the product quality of littlewoods stuff, i would say i have no complaints on the electrical side or the bed side, as the bed is very sturdy and everything i wanted, but the furniture you get is not of the quality i expect. For the price you pay i did not expect to get chip board weak furnitue. I bought a cabinate from them at £125 and firstly it did not line up properly and now after 12 months its bowing under the weight of itself (does not have anything heavy either on it or in it).
But do not let this put you off littlewoods. They have always been great with the service for me and even when i ordered some clothing items which i found out were out of stock, they were very helpful and kept me informed of the progress of the order.
And now with the reward scheme for just paying your bill, i have more reason to order from them, as i have already got a substantial amount of money on the scheme.
Mind you i wish they would stop upping the credit limit on my account.
So my summery of Littlewoods:
If you read through the terms, then there will be no supprises, i will happily order with them but not furniture unless they improve the quality.
Get your veg all hot and steamy with this great steamer from tesco.
I am however writing about the newer version of this great steamer but its not quite on here. it is the 2TS08 version with 2 baskets and only £9.99.
I really do not have a clue why anyone would spend like £35 on a steamer when the tesco value steamer is just as good. May not look as exciting as the expensive ones but in this climate who cares.
It steams the food really well and the taste difference you get with veg and fish is amazing, i mean they are so tasty i dont ever boil anymore.
What is also great as well is steamed puddings, (being a northener, well originally) i loved a great puddin and chips from the chippy. but if ya not up north lol then get some frozen ones and pop it into the steamer. It may take an hour or so but the result is soooooo satifying.
With 2 compartments you can literally do a whole dinner in the steamer, the bottom for meat and the top for veg...
And with it being easy to clean and compactable, its the perfect, cheap kitchen appliance to have in your home.
This is the greatest cleaning product of all, These bottles arent very expensive and last for ages. You can use them not just for your floor but for all of your surfaces. The best place i've found to buy this product is wilkinsons, as they (on regular basis) do deals on this product, Lat month i picked up 2 bottle for £2.
But what is great about this cleaning product is that you can make it up into the spray version for a fraction of the spray bottle price, just fill up an old bottle a quarter of the way up with the flash one for all and fill it with water and there ya go, a cheap refill.
Once refilled, use it on everything to create a clean house, and in the kitchen it cuts through grime easily, just spray it on, leave for like a minute and wipe.
On previous reviews there were explenations saying that it is too fragrant to use on surfaces, however for the kitchen if lemons are not your thing, then they do a lavender version which anyone would welcome the scent for in their home, they also do a pink grapefruit and green tea leaf , and clean cascade which i think is perfect for the bathroom.
I will never use a different product ever !!!!
Love love love the styling of this tv. The stand is lovely, what a break from those awful disk stands and the surround as well with its grained look, with the added point that its really really thin.
As soon as i saw this TV i fell in love with it, but then i turned it on and wow, the quality of the picture is amazing, and on HD its superb, played a blu-ray on it the other day and my god is it great.
The speakers in my own view are superior compared to my last samsung TV (Again, on the samsungs lol) and the extra features embedded on the tv are great too. Like being able to cook with your TV i love that one, and you can download new recipies as well. Also there are kids games and fitness info on it too.
You can also use it as a gallery by slapping your memory card in it and slide showing your photos, and adding a music track on the memory card to play along side it.
I have had this phone for over a year now and have not looked back, It litterally does everything that i need it to do and more.
I've always loved Samsung makes of items and so i thought well lets try the phone. To be honest though the style wasn't really exciting but i wanted a phone with both touch and buttons, cause i cannot stand phones that dont have buttons (my preference).
The buttons are really easy to use and feel nice to the touch, the camera whilst is not the highest pixels is adequate when caught out without a camera and the phone holds it charge. I do not have to charge it for at least 5 days at a time and that is constantly on with bluetooth activated.
Its very durable as well since i am a clumsy person and have dropped it numerous times and it still works perfectly.
I would recomend anyone who wants a phone for a phone this model.
