I bought this washer-dryer as a relpacement for my previous one. I was so impressed with the quality and efficiency of my original Zanussi that I wanted to replace it witht he same model but it had been discontinued and replaced with this one.
The primary reason for choosing a washer-dryer is lack of space. I don't have room for two separate appliances but as a mother of two young boys in a small house I need to be able to dry clothes quickly. The fast spin speed is also a draw as this vastly reduces drying time.
I have to say that I have been less impressed by this model than I was with my previous machine, bought 5 years earlier. Although the washer washes well, the spin is just as effective and the drier is very good it has some elements that I find a little irritating.
Firstly, within its 1st year (in fact the day before the guarantee ran out, luckily for me!) a chip in the machine went, rendering it useless until the engineer fixed it. One day later and I would have been forking out for parts and labour on a 12 month old machine. The previous model had lasted a full 5 years, with some pretty heavy use, two babies (washable nappies), hairdressing towels and a couple of washes and drys a day.
The programming is also less simple if you want to wash and dry straight after there is a bit of faffing involved.
Ther are however some great features to this machine. I like the fast wash option on many of the programmes and the drier is much more efficient than the old one.The filter doesn't need changing anywhere near as frequently as that in my old model, but is still too close to the floor to clean without at least spilling some of the water.
In short, a good machine, suitable for my needs but not as convincing as its ancestor!
I bought this game for my two boys aged 4 and 7 after much pleading and begging, mostly from the 7 year old. Several of his friends already had it and they loved the idea that they could port their characters to each others houses and continue their game with their friends.
Initially I was dubious as the thought of purchasing endless new characters for them to play the game effectively made my purse panic! I eventually backed down and the boys used birthday vouchers to buy the starter pack at a great price.
The starter pack contained 3 "Skylanders" which is plenty for the kids to get going with. The characters are very cleverly ported into the game via the wireless portal device. As the game progresses the characters gain experience and items that are stored on the chip within the character and these upgrades stay with that character where ever it is played, giving each childs figure its own identity.
The instructions are spoken throughout the game so my pre-school 4 year old can understand what he needs to do. When the boys are playing together their characters are tied together which also stops one of them from running off (usually the 4 year old) whilst the other is attemping a task or is mid-battle.
We have since bought them another character each (a treat for a good report and the other for staying dry at night), but even better my eldest son won one in a cereal packet competition so the collection has started. One drawback is that to unlock the game fully characters from every "element" will be necessary (at £7.99 each this could be pricey).
I may live to regret it but the kids love this game, play it beautifully together and it is simple yet cleverly put together. A great buy!
We run a small yet successful hairdressing salon in the Midlands and have for many years refused to be beholden to any product company or piece of equipment, truely believing that if you can do your job well, you can do it using any tool. This was before my set of GHD straightening irons broke at Christmas following 10 years loyal service in the salon. We quickly replaced the irons with another set of an alternative brand (being Christmas we were too busy to go too far to obtain the tools and had to settle for what we could get at short notice).
The difference in quality was immediately evident, the balance, weight, efficiency and glide through the hair couldn't compare to our old GHD faithfuls. We struggled through the christmas period with a poor replacement for our beloved irons, until joy of joy we were able to replace them.
The mark4 model is even better and the finish that we can obtain on our clients hair is beautiful. The fine grade ceramic plates slip faultlessly through all hair types smoothing out even the most unruly curls.
I almost feel that I couldn't do my job without them!
A must buy and well worth every penny.
