      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A good tape measure which gives accurate measurements and allows you to lock the tape in place

My partner and I have had an offer accepted on a house and all seems to be going well. Although I've been told to remain calm and not to buy any furniture yet just in case, I am still very excited and want to get the ball rolling. For this reason, I bought the 5m long Draper Tape Measure.

      About the product
The product promises to allow you to make quick, easy and most importantly, accurate measurements reading around your home. It allows you to measure in metres, centimetres and milimetres as well as in both inches and feet. The tape measure has a locking device on it so that you can hold the tape in place making it easier for you read the measurement without having to hold it in place. A button is also included to help you to control the speed of which the tape is returned into the product so that you don't get hurt. It also has a belt clip so that you can carry it around with you easily.

      Appearance
The product is a lovely royal blue colour and the front panel is a light blue colour. It has a black belt click and a sticker on the side with the brand logo. The lock button is gray and you push it downwards to lock the tape in place. The red button allows you to control the speed at which the tape is retracted.

The tape itself is a bright yellow colour and the measurements are printed in solid black print which is easy to read. The tape measure is a good side and it is easy to hold in your hand while you are using it. It isn't too heavy, weighting 210 grams and it has a height of 12 cm, a width of 7.4 cm and a depth of 3.6 cm.

      Price
The tape measure will cost you around £5 and it can be bought from a range of online websites. I got mine from Amazon.

      My experience
I have turned into a bit of a big kid with this product and have started measuring everything around my house just for the sake of it. The bright colour of the product means that I can easily find it when I have put it down somewhere and the weight and shape of the product makes it easy to hold. The tape itself is both thick and sturdy so it doesn't bend and lose its tension in the middle as you use it.

The end hook is helpful and it allows you to hold the end of the tape in the place. The lock mechanism is easy to push down and it is one of my favourite things about this product. It means that you don't have to try and hold both ends and it allows you to get a more accurate measurement. The numbers are bold and easy to read even without my glasses on.

The retraction on the product is also good because I have a tape measure in the past which would whip in quickly and hurt everyone in its path. This one can be controlled and has caused no such injuries. It is easy to pull the tape out of the product and to put it back in without any jamming. This is a sturdy tape measure which should be long lasting if I look after it.

      Conclusion
All in all, this is a sturdy and robust tape measurement which is easy to hold and use, and it gives accurate measurements. The numbers are easy to read and you can lock the tape in place to make this easier. The tape retraction speed can be controlled so that it doesn't whip in too quickly and it doesn't jam or get stuck. This is a good product and I am very happy with it. Now I'm off to measure something else...

A lovely massage bar which softens the skin and smells delicious

I love Lush and I love their massage bars... And I thought it was time for one more. I chose Tender is the Night.

        About the product
The product promises to moisturise and soften the skin using natural butters and to keep it feeling softer for longer. Using Shea Butter and Murumuru Butter, it claims to nourish and strengthen the skin, removing all feelings of tightness and dryness. It also contains a relaxing aroma which should leave the mind as relaxed as the body.

How do you use the product?
The product begins to melt once it reaches body temperature. It should be used on dry and clean skin. As you hold the bar in your hands, it begins to melt and you simple smooth it across your skin and either massage it in yourself or get someone else to do it for you. Once you are done, you need to store the bar somewhere cool and dry so that it doesn't melt.

        Appearance and Price
The product is a large creamy shaped oval which has a little pink jasmine flower stuck on top. The product is expensive costing £6.50 for 60 grams and it can be bought from your local Lush store and also from its online website.

        Application and Performance
The massage bar has a beautiful aroma that is right up my street. It has the fragrances of ylang ylang oil mixed with vanilla and jasmine. The aroma is warm and quickly with a delicious sweetness. It is romantic and it is not overpowering or too strong, and I really like it. The bar doesn't take long to start melting in your hands but it doesn't melt so much that you end up in a mess.

You do need to use the product away from clothing or any fabric because the product is essentially a solid body oil so it could stain or mark them. The massage bar is nice and smooth so you can glide it across the skin without any pulling or scrapping, or you can move the bar around in your hands and then rub your hands on the skin. Either way works well for me and you get a nice coating of the lovely oils on your skin.

The massage bar does soften the skin a lot and although the oils are quite heavy, most of them do sink into the skin. The product doesn't make you feel very greasy or unclean but I wouldn't use it in the mornings. I prefer to use in the evenings and them shower it off in the mornings. It leaves my skin with a healthy sheen and it removes all feeling of dryness and all appearance of dry skin. It smells completely delicious and the aroma lingers on the skin for quite a while after use.

        Conclusion
All in all, this product has a lovely aroma which is warm and romantic. The product is easy to use although it can get a little bit messy and it can be used on your own or with your partner. It leaves your skin softer and smoother, and although it is a little greasy, it doesn't leave you feeling unclean. The product is expensive but the bar is quite big and if you look after it properly, it should last you a while.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A lovely and relaxing body oil which is quickly absorbed and softens the skin

I often have trouble winding down and relaxing at bed time in order for me to be able to fall asleep. And that's before my partner has even started snoring. This is why lately, Lavender products have become my new best friend. And why I bought the Lavender Relaxing Body Oil by Weleda.

        What does the product do?
The product contains plenty of natural ingredients which promise to hydrate the skin deeply leaving it softer, smoother and more supple. It contains Sesame Oil and Almond oil to strengthen and nourish the skin, and to keep it looking younger for longer. It claims that it will leave you skin healthier and looking in a much better condition. In addition, the aroma of lavender promises to soothe your senses leaving you feeling calmer and more relaxed.

How do you use the product?
The product should be applied to damp, clean skin. It is ideal to apply the product immediately after a shower or a bath. You need to dispense a small amount of the product and massage it gently into the skin until it has been fully absorbed. It is suitable for use both on the face and on the body but I wouldn't put anything this oily onto my face.

        Packaging and Price
The packaging for this product is not ideal. The product is contained within a glass bottle and as your hands are wet and oily when using it, you do need to take care. The packaging does look nice but it is not entirely practical although it does help to preserve the natural ingredients inside. The product will cost you around £11 for 100 ml and it can be bought from large department stores and also from a range of online website.

        Application and Performance
The mouth of the bottle is open so you need to take care when pouring but is there is a sort of stopped inside the mouth which prevents it from coming out all at once. You can smell the aroma of the product immediately as you pour the product and it is very relaxing. It is obviously that of Lavender and it smells really natural. It isn't too overpowering at all and it isn't as strong as I was expecting.

The oil is gentle on the skin and it hasn't caused my skin any discomfort or irritated it in any way. As this is an oil, you won't want to use too much of the product because you'll end up looking like an oil slick. When used in moderation however, it doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy or unclean but it does leave the skin with a definite sheen. The lavender scent lingers on the skin enough to relax you but not too much so that it bothers you. Even so I use this in the night so I don't mind how it makes me smell.

The oil definitely makes the skin look healthy and in a better condition from the first application. It removes any dullness from the skin and banishes signs of dryness. It doesn't take very long before you can dress or climb into bed after application and it makes your skin feel much softer and smoother. The oil has long lasting results and it really does feel like you are giving your skin a treat.

        Conclusion
All in all, this is another lovely and relaxing product by Weleda. It softens the skin and leaving it both looking and feeling healthier, and in a better condition. This product is thinner than normal baby oil and smells relaxing so it's worth the price in my opinion. It doesn't leave you feeling greasy or unclean, and the aroma does help you to drift off into a peaceful sleep.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A lovely chocolate scented body butter which softens and smooths the skin

I love body moisturisers and I have more than my fair school. I also love chocolate and The Body shop which is why I just had to have the Cocoa Butter Body Butter.

          About the product
The product promises to hydrate and moisturise even very dry skin and to keep it moisturised for up to 24 hours. It claims that it will be quickly absorbed by the skin leaving it feeling softer and smoother, and that it will coat the skin with a delicious cocoa fragrance.

          Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a circular pot which has a screw top lid that is easy to open and close. The picture on the lid is one of a cracked cocoa bean and some extra information about the product is written on the pot. The product will cost you £13 for 100 ml and it can be bought from your local Body Shop and also from their online website.

          Application
The open mouthed lid of the product does make it really easy to access the butter meaning that you can control exactly how much you remove. It also means that you can return any excess butter to the pot easily so there will be no wastage. Obviously the packaging means that you do need to put your fingers into the butter which isn't the most hygienic thing and it does get under your nails. If you don't like the sound of that then you could use a spatula instead.

          Performance
The butter is a creamy ever so pale brown colour and the consistency is a bit richer and thicker than you would expect to see in a butter. You don't need to use much of the product in order to get the desired results and it is just as easily absorbed by the skin as promised. The butter does seem to melt on the skin, somehow becoming a little watery on the skin, but it quickly disappears. The butter doesn't leave the skin feeling greasy or unclean, and it doesn't irritate my skin or make it feel uncomfortable.

The butter has a deliciously chocolate scent which is sweet and natural. It isn't sickly or overpowering and I really like it. It is nicer than the Palmers Cocoa Butter as it is more chocolately. The butter does make my skin feel more comfortable instantly and it removes all feelings of tightness and dryness. It does make my skin feel softer and smoother, and it removes any dullness leaving my skin looking healthier. It does have long lasting results and the scent lingers lightly on the skin but it doesn't make my skin quite as soft as my old faithful Palmers Cocoa Butter.

          Conclusion
All in all, this is another lovely body butter by The Body Shop. It has a lovely chocolate scent which isn't sickly and it is quickly absorbed by the skin. It leaves my skin softer and smoother for a long time although perhaps not as soft as some other products do. I do like the product though and I would repurchase.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Smells gorgeous and will last for ages

I don't know how I have managed to neglect my favourite perfume (Black XS for her by Paco Rabanne) over the years that I have been on Dooyoo... I thought I'd better right that wrong straight away!!

          About the fragrance
The fragrance is described as being both mysterious and rebellious. It claims to be a 'rock and roll' fragrance for a princess and the aroma claims to be sensual.

          Notes
The top notes of the perfume are the fruity aromas of pink pepper berries and cranberries. At the heart of the fragrance are the aromas of black violet and the cocoa flower while in the bottom notes, you can enjoy the warm scent of patchouli and black vanilla.

          Packaging
I think the packaging of this product is beautiful and eye catching. The bottle is made from a deep purple/pink glass which you can partially see through and the image of a rose is made from raised glass. The lid is black and moulded into sections which makes it looks shiny.

          Price
This perfume will cost you around £30 for 30 ml. You can also buy larger bottles although these obviously cost more. The fragrance can be bought from perfume shops, department stores and also from a range of online websites.

          My experience
The dispenser on the perfume is easy to push and the bottle is easy to hold. Quite a lot of the perfume comes out when you push the dispenser all the way down and you only need about two squirts in order to get the desired results. The spray doesn't come out as misty as others so you do need to hold it at arms length so it is spread more evenly and less watery but this is easily done.

You can see the perfume straight away and I am madly in love with the aroma. You can smell the creamy vanilla and the sharpness of the fruit. It doesn't smell of one thing in particular and none of the aroma stand out above the others but it is completely gorgeous. It is very evident but manages to do so without becoming sickly or overpowering. The aroma is perfect for a night out but it also works well in the day and it has a lovely warmth to it.

I get so many compliments when I wear this perfume and many people have asked what it is. The perfume is very long lasting and it will still be on you when you get in from a night out. It also lingers on your coats and scarves for days after you have applied it so sometimes you don't need to reapply! It is gentle on my skin and hasn't caused me any irritations. I have worn this perfume for years and completely love it. The only one problem that you may have is that this one somehow smells different on different people. When friends have borrowed it, it somehow takes on a different aroma.

          Conclusion
All in all, I can say enough good things about this fragrance. The aroma is deliciously gorgeous and it has fantastic staying power. It is evident without being overpowering and perfect for both day and night wear. The bottle is pretty and it isn't overpriced. If I could give this fragrance 10 stars, I would!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A freshening skin spray which wakes up the skin and gives it a bit more radiance

My complexion can often look dull and oily which is not a good combination. I bought the Beauty Elixir by Caudalie to try and improve my skin.

          About the product
The product has been created in order to make the complexion more radiant. It also promises to reduce the size of the pores which helps to regulate the excess oils produced by the skin to leave it looking healthier and smoother. It also claims that it will provide the perfect base for your make up and that it will smooth away your fine lines. It contains a whole host of lovely natural ingredients including Grape, Rosemary and Mint.

How do you use the product?
The product should be applied to cleansed and dry skin, before it has been moisturised. You simply close the eyes and spritz the product across the face and leave it to dry for a few minutes. You can also spray it on top of finish make up to help it to set and stay in place. It can be used as often as necessary and can be used to refreshen the skin during the day.

          Appearance and Price
The product comes in a rather classy looking glass bottle. It is translucent so you can just about see the liquid inside. There is a branch of flowers on the front and it has a shiny silver lid. When you remove the lid you see the white dispenser which you push down on in order to release the liquid inside.

The product doesn't come cheap and it will cost you around £30 for 100ml of the product although a smaller and cheaper bottle is also available. The product can be bought from large department stores and also from a range of online websites.

          Application and Performance
The way that this product is dispensed is perfect. The liquid comes out as a fine mist which distributes itself well across the face without making the skin feel too wet. It is easy to get an even application and a couple of squirts is enough for the whole face. The aroma of this product is overpowering which was a suprise as I expected it to have a gentle fragrance. Not only is it overpowering but it isn't altogether pleasant either. The strongest aroma is that of mint but it doesn't mix well with the fruity floral fragrances which are also included and I can't say that I like the smell of this product. This is never a good thing with a product that you are spraying onto the face.

The product feels nice on the skin and as it is so fine, you don't really have to wait for it too dry. It isn't too strong and it doesn't irritate the skin or make it feel uncomfortable. The product does leave my skin feeling really refreshed and it doesn't leave it feeling greasy or unclean. It hasn't caused any blemishes on my spot prone skin either. I also, however, can't feel it doing any good. There is no tightening of the pores as far as I can tell and I can't notice a difference in their size.

The product hasn't had any noticeable impact on my fine lines either and it doesn't really make my skin feel any softer or smoother. This product does leave my skin looking more radiant however and it does give a slight sheen to the face without making me look any oilier. It does work well on top of my make up and it does seem to keep my make up in place for longer. It does seem to revive my make up and it keep my skin a healthier appearance when it has been dulled by foundation and powder. It also makes my skin feel nicer during the day and the aroma is definitely awakening!

          Conclusion
All in all, this product hasn't blown me away. It does freshen my skin and leaves my face feeling more comfortable. It also makes my make up last longer and gives it a more fresh appearance. I haven't noticed any improvement in the health of my skin, the size of my pores or the appearance of my fine lines and this is the main reason that I bought it. The smell is also not to my liking and it is pricey. I don't dislike this product but it isn't worth the price in my opinion.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A tough sugar scrub which smooths the skin but also scratches it!

I love Lush and most of its lovely products. I also love anything which promises to banish my number one enemy, cellulite, which I why I bought the Sugar Scrub.

          About the product
The product promises to exfoliate the skin with Fair Trade sugar, removing the dead and dulling skin cells to reveal the shiny, healthy ones underneath. It claims that it will leave the skin smoother and brighter, and also that it will help to banish cellulite on the thighs. It contains fennel to draw toxins from the skin, lavender to boost the blood circulation as well as lavender to calm and soothe the skin.

How do you use the product?
You need to dampen the skin and then scrub the skin with the product. You need to ensure that you don't get the product in the path of running or bath water because it will dissolve. Once you have finished massaging your skin with the scrub, you rinse the excess away.

          Appearance and Price
The product is green in colour and half of a circular shape. There isn't really any pattern or decoration on this product and it just had a gritty appearance. You can buy 100 grams of this scrub for about £3 and it can be bought from your local Lush store or from their online websites.

          My experience
The product has relaxing herbal aroma which isn't particular what I go for in a product of this type but it is pleasant none the less. It doesn't smell too strong or overpowering, and it doesn't become sickly. The bar is solid and you can feel the gritty particles simply by running your finger over the product and it made me worried that it was going to hurt.

You need to apply the product to damp skin. I tried using the flat side of the product on my skin but I found it too hard and scratchy. When I tried applying the product using just a little bit of pressure, I found it still scrapped my skin. I've found this product works better by breaking off a section of the scrub, grinding it down and then mixing it with a shower gel. When used like this, it doesn't hurt but you can feel it doing a good job.

The product makes the skin tingle a little but it doesn't irritate my skin or cause me discomfort when used in this way. It is easily rinsed off and most of the product dissolves away so there is little mess. Once my skin is dry, it does feel incredibly smooth. All signs of dry and flaky skin are gone although my skin does feel a bit tight after use so it's not softening. The product hasn't really affected my cellulite although the massaging action is bound to help eventually.

          Conclusion
All in all, this is a hard and abrasive scrub which is not for the faint hearted. It can be made more gentle by mixing small pieces into shower gel and when used in this way it does make my legs incredibly smooth. It has a relaxing aroma and it does brighten the skin, although I haven't seen a reduction in my cellulite unfortunately. This is a good scrub but it's a time consuming one so I probably wouldn't repurchase.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A menthol inhaler that helps to clear the nose and allows you to breath easier

Working with children means that I often have a cold of some sort and I am usually bunged up. I have my little medical bag in my cupboard which I invariably need to use at some point during the term. One of the items in this bag is the Vicks Inhaler.

          About the product
The product promises to decongest the nose when it becomes blocked during a cold. It claims that it will help you to breath easier and feel more comfortable. It works on blocked noses that are caused by colds and allergies.

          Ingredients
The product has three active ingredients - menthol, pine needle oil and camphor. These ingredients help to widen the nasal passage to allow you to breath properly again.

How do you use the product
The product needs to be inserted into one of your nostrils. You need to hold your the other nostril and then breath in deeply. Repeat this with the other nostril. You can use the product as often as needed. It should not be used by those under 6 and should be thrown out after a month for hygiene reasons.

          Appearance and Price
The product is a white plastic tube which a curved ending at the top. It is smooth and thin, and it is protected by a long lid. The product will cost you around £2.50 and it can be bought in stores such as Boots and Superdrug, large supermarkets and also from a range of online websites.

          My experience
The product is easy to carry around with you as it is about the size of a lip balm. When you remove the lid, you can see the side of the product are very smooth which makes easier to easier to insert into the nostril. It is a small size so although it does feel a little weird, it doesn't hurt or feel uncomfortable at all.

The product has a strong scent but it isn't bad enough to make your nose sting or your eyes water. It smells and feels to me like a mint tastes if that makes sense. It is cold and minty and if your nose is really blocked, you would even smell it the first time. On these occasions, you need to sniff deeply a few times beneath it clear your nose.

The product does indeed clear your nose as promised but depending on how badly it is blocked, these can be for just a few second to an hour. It does nevertheless help you to breath better and I find this really helpful at bedtime when you are finding it hard to sleep or when you are beginning to get a headache. Even where the results are short lived, another sniff will clear it again.

          Conclusion
All in all, this is a good product to use when your nose is blocked. It does indeed help to clear your nose so that you can breath more easily and the aroma isn't too unpleasant or uncomfortable to sniff. The results can be very short lived, depending on how badly your nose it blocked but it works nevertheless. I would recommend having this product in your medical bag as it does the job.

An eye serum which softens the skin and leaves it looking healthier and brighter

Vichy is a brand that I became familiar with whilst in Italy and I am a big fan of their products. I like to look after my eyes because I think they can age you quickly and so I bought the Liftactiv Serum for Eye and Lashes by the brand.

          About the product
The product promise to give the eye area a lift to make the skin look brighter and healthier. It illuminates the skin and rejuvenates it to leave the area looking younger. It hydrates and nourishes the skin as well as strengthening and fortifying the lashes. It is suitable for use on all skin types. The product promises to leave the eye area looking and feeling refreshed.

How do you use the product?
You need to apply the product to cleansed and dry skin. You need to dispense some of the product and gently apply it to the skin around the eye as well as the lashes. You need to pat the product into the skin so that you don't cause wrinkles in the delicate skin.

          Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a cute silver bottle. The bottle has a shiny metallic silver lid and when you pull it off, you see the white dispenser which you push down on in order to release the serum. The product will cost you around £20 for a tiny 15 ml but you do only use the product on a tiny area. It can be bought from large department stores such as Boots as well as a range of online websites.

          Application and Performance
The product is easy to dispense from the bottle and you push gentle down on the top to dispense on drop. The product doesn't smell of anything in particular but it has quite a fresh scent. The serum is a pearly white colour and it has the consistency that you would expect from a product of this type, although it is marginally thicker than others that I have used.

The serum has a really silky texture which glides easily over the skin. It is light and easily absorbed by the skin. It feels comfortable and gentle on the eye area, and it feel cool and refreshing. The product doesn't feel strong or sting my eyes in anyway and it hasn't caused me to experience any discomfort. It makes my eye area feel incredibly soft and smooth so it must be hydrating and it does illuminate the skin a little bit leaving it looking healthier and brighter.

The serum doesn't seem to improve my wrinkles but as it hydrates the skin well then I can only assume that it will slow down the formation of any new ones. I can't say that I have noticed an improvement in the health or strength of my lashes. They do look a little shinier but that's all. The product doesn't make my skin look or feel greasy or unclean. It leaves a slight healthy sheen behind and it hasn't caused me to develop any blemishes.

          Conclusion
All in all, this is an good eye product which leaves the skin feeling really soft and silky. It makes my skin feel comfortable and removes all feelings of tightness and dryness. It illuminates my skin leaving it looking brighter and healthier, and it leaves my lashes looking in a better condition. I like the product but I don't think it's worth the price so I'm giving it 4 stars.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Hasn't improved my vision enough... Back to the drawing board!

I recently went to the opticians because my eye sight had got a bit worse and I got told that my astigmatism had also got worse. My current contact lenses aren't made in measurements that would work with my eyes anymore so I had to swap brands and I was given the 1 Day Acuvue Moist for Astigmatism.

          About the product
The contact lenses are daily disposables which are intended to be thrown away after each use. They have been designed for those with an astigmatism and promise to give you better and more stable eye sight, with a comfortable fit. They claim to be easy to insert and remove from the eye, and also offer protection from the sun's damaging rays. The lens promise to be moisture rich which means that they won't have dried out by the end of the day and will still be comfortable.

          Price
These lenses are more expensive than my previous ones. They will cost around £19 for 30 singles or £40 for 30 pairs which is a lot of money in my opinion for something that you need in order to be able to see. They can be bought from opticians and also from a few different websites.

          Inserting the contact lense.
The lenses are labelled with your eye measurements and prescription and my opticians labelled the boxes so that I would know which one was which. The packets are quite easy to open although if you open it to fast, they do fly out alongside the water.

The lenses are bigger than my previous ones. They are also much thinner and feel much more flimsy although I haven't had any rip of break as I have handled them. They are quite sticky too and they roll up quite easily as you try to open. They also tend to stick to your finger which makes them harder to insert. I usually find out if the contact lense is the right way by pinching the sides together and seeing if they bend inwards but these are too thin and big to do this.

The lenses are so big that it makes it harder to get in your eye. It keeps getting stuck to my finger or caught in my lashes. Once it has been inserted into the eye, it does feel immediately comfortable and it does feel really moist. As for my vision, which is the reason that I got them. I am not altogether impressed. They don't give me clear vision and things are a little blurry and faintly as if I have been staring at the lights for too long. Whether this is a fault of the opticians or the lenses, I'm not sure.

They do remain comfortable throughout the day and I can forget that they are in my eyes. They don't dry out during the day or become picky so they can be worn for a long period of time without discomfort. They are easy to remove from the eye and the size does benefit you in this way as it's easy to pinch. My eyes feel fine after they have been removed and my eyes look healthy.

          Conclusion
All in all, these contact lenses are a little bigger and stickier than what I am used to which means that they are harder to insert. They are comfortable once they are in my eyes and they don't dry out or become picky. They don't make my vision crystal clear and I don't think these lenses work for me. They are easy to remove and my eyes feel fine after use. I think another trip to the opticians is in order for me.

A fresh summer moisturiser which leaves your skin feeling softer

I love body moisturisers and I have more than I could ever need but that doesn't stop me purchasing more of them! Last summer, I bought the summery Lemon Body Moisturiser by Dr. Hauschka.

            About the product
The product promises to moisturise the skin with plenty of natural ingredients, leaving it feeling silky soft and smooth. It contains both Olive oil and Jojoba Oil to nourish and strengthen the skin, leaving it stronger and in a better condition.

The body moisturiser claims to have a light and non greasy formula that is quickly absorbed. The product also promises to tone and bright the skin and it comes with a lemon fresh aroma which should also lift and brighten the senses. The product can also be used as an after sun product.

            Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a clear bottle through which you can see the creamy product. It has a label giving some extra information about the product and a gold dispenser on which you push down on in order to release the product. The packaging looks classy and expensive.

The lotion, as ever with this brand, is quite costly and it will cost you around £24 for 145 ml of the product. It can be bought from large department stores such as Boots and also from a range of online websites.

            My experience
The product is easy to dispense and each pump dispenses a good amount of the moisturiser. It is creamy in colour and has a light consistency which is almost like that of a lotion. You can smell the product as soon as it is dispensed and it has such a sunny fragrance which makes it perfect for summer. It is just like fresh lemons, invigorating and refreshing, but in no way too strong or overpowering.

The lotion feels light on the skin and it is very quickly absorbed with minimal rubbing. It does instantly make my skin feel more comfortable and removes all feelings of tightness and dryness. As it is so light and quickly absorbed, I do find myself applying more than I would with other moisturisers which is not a good thing when you consider the price. Despite the citrus smell, it is gentle on my skin and hasn't caused me any irritations.

The moisturiser makes my skin feel really silky smooth and soft but it isn't strong enough to tackle tricky dry spots such as my knees and elbows. It also didn't feel hydrating enough to be used as an after sun product. Used as a general daily moisturiser though, it does work well and leaves my skin softer and looking healthier. The results just about last the whole day you do need to reapply in the evenings as some of the dryness comes back. The lemon fragrance lingers on the skin for a while after use.

            Conclusion
All in all, this is a nice moisturiser for those whose skin isn't too thirsty and dry. It has a lovely lemon fragrance and it is both light and quickly absorbed. It doesn't tackle tricky dry spots but it leaves most of my body feeling soft and smooth. I would recommend this as a light summer moisturiser but not for those with drier skins.

A citrus fresh shower gel which leaves you feeling fresh and clean

I am definitely not a morning person and I do have a bit of trouble getting going when I wake up. I hoped the Revive Mandarin and Lemongrass Shower Gel by Radox might help me out.

            About the product
The product promises to cleanse your skin and to leave you feeling fresh and clean. It claims that it will revive you with its feel good fragrance and leave you awakened and ready to face the day. The shower gel includes some lovely natural ingredients which should work towards leaving you as fresh as a daisy.

            Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a see through bottle and you can see the shower gel inside. It has a bright orange hook which can be lifted from the bottle on which you can hang the shower. It also has a bright orange flip top lid which is easy to both open and to close.

The shower gel will cost you around £1.99 for 250 ml and it can be bought from stores such as Superdrug and Boots, large supermarkets and also from a range of online websites.

            My experience
The colour of the shower gel is a bright orange so it suits the product. The colour is enough to get you going in the morning as it is so glaringly bright. The shower gel is easily dispensed from the bottle with a gentle squeeze and it has the consistency that you would expect from a product of this type.

After the colour, the next thing you notice is the aroma. It is incredibly sharp and citrus fresh, and although it doesn't smell altogether natural, it is still just invigorating and refreshing as promised. It certainly does go a long way to getting your revived in the morning and it makes me instantly more alert. It isn't sickly, over powering or too strong and I really like it. You can smell the aroma throughout the washing process.

You can apply the product either straight to the skin or first using a sponge. It works well either way but you do get a much better lather when using a sponge. You feel like the shower gel is doing a good job of getting you clean and it is gentle on the skin causing no irritations.

The product is easily rinsed off and it doesn't leave my skin feeling tight or uncomfortable as some products. It doesn't leave the skin feeling any softer either but then it doesn't claim to do so. It leaves me feeling really fresh and the lovely scent lingers lightly on the skin.

            Conclusion
All in all, this is a lovely shower gel which has an invigorating aroma. It certainly wakes you up in the mornings and leaves you feeling fresh, clean and energised. I would definitely purchase this shower gel again.

An expensive set of headphones which block out surrounding noise and plays music beautifully

My partner loves impulse purchases and will often spend too much money on things he doesn't need. He quickly gets bored with this purchases and then either gives them to me or sells them on. One of these purchases was the QuietComfort Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones by Bose. On this occasion, I have luckily ended up with them!

            About the product
The headphones promise to give you the best possible enjoyment from your music. They have an advanced noise reduction system which blocks out any interfering noise around, even when the music isn't playing. It promises to fit around your ears with a comfortable cushion fit. They work using batteries and promise to give you 35 hours of use each time.

            Appearance
These earphones are quite big and bulky, and you won't be able to shy away from the fact that you're wearing them. They are 19.1 cm in height, 15.2 cm in width and have a 7.4 cm at the earphones part. There have a black hair band and the ear pieces are black and silver. It has the bose logo on the sides and the sliding button to block out the surrounding noise. The earphones comes in a black zip up carry case so that you can carry them around without them getting damaged.

            Price
The price isn't for the faint hearted and it's safe to say my partner and I didn't speak for several days when he bought this. They cost around, wait for it, £259, which in my eyes was completely ridiculous and in his eyes, a good buy. They can be bought from some electrical stores and also from a range of online websites.

            My experience
The headphones come with lots of different attachments but they confuse me so I use it in the most simple way. The headphones fit me really comfortably. The ear pieces are nicely padded and the material is silky and smooth. They feel nice and cushioned around my eyes and you can wear them for a long time without experiencing any discomfort. They fit me well and don't slip or slide off as I move my head.

They slot into my mp3 player easily and they play the music in a crystal clear way. The songs sound much better than they do using my other much cheaper headaches. When push the switch to block out the surrounding sound, it is a bit surreal. Noise doesn't completely disappear but it does by about 80%. I have used it in this way to block out noise when trying to sleep on a plane and even to block out my partner's snoring when it's really bad!

            Conclusion
All in all, these headaches are fantastic. They feel completely comfortable and they make your music crystal clear. You can block out all other noise so you can enjoy your music wherever you are and they can even help you sleep in noisy places like planes and trains. Could I justify the price? No. But if you could find these for cheaper, then they are well worth buying.

A lovely shower cream for the chocolate lovers!!

I am a complete chocoholic. I love eating the stuff and I love any products which have incorporated chocolate into it. When I saw the Chocomania Shower Cream, I couldn't leave it on the shelf.

            About the product
The product promises to cleanse the skin to leave you feeling fresh and clean. It contains Fair Trade Cocoa butter to soften and moisturise the skin and claims that it won't dry out the skin. It comes with a delicious chocolate scent which will leave you smelling sweet.

How do you use the product?
The product can be used in the shower or the bath. You can apply the product directly to the skin or using a sponge to build up a better lather. Once you are done, you rinse the lather away.

            Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a clear plastic bottle so you can see the product inside. It has a brown flip top lid which is easy to open and close even with wet and soapy hands. The shower cream will cost you around £2 for 60 ml or a larger 250 ml bottle is available although this costs more. It can be bought from your local Body Shop or from its online website.

            Application and Performance
The shower cream is a beautiful pearlescent brown colour which shimmers. It is a bit of an unusual colour for a shower product but I think it looks lovely. It is more of a gel than a cream and it has quite a thick consistency. It has a strong chocolate aroma which is naturally sweet and doesn't smell artificial at all. It smells just like a posh box of chocolates. The shower cream is easily dispensed from the bottle and you don't need to use much in order to get the desired results.

It feels silky when applied directly to the skin and it does feel quite moisturising as you do so. When you apply the product to a sponge, you do get a lovely lather which leaves you feeling nice and clean. The product is gentle on the skin and doesn't irritate me or cause me any discomforts. The product is easily rinsed off and once the skin is dry, there are no feeling of tightness or dryness. My skin doesn't feel especially soft but I do feel fresh and clean. The scent lingers lightly on the skin for a little while after use.

            Conclusion
All in all, this is a lovely shower cream which smells and looks like chocolate. It leaves me feeling fresh and clean, and smelling delicious. It isn't as refreshing or invigorating as some shower products but if you like chocolate then I can't see why you wouldn't like this!!

A lovely bath soak which relaxes both the body and the mind

My life seems to be quite stressful at the moment and the muscles in my neck and shoulders are constantly tight and burning. My body also feel tired and heavy all the time. I bought the Chestnut Toning Bath Soak by Weleda to see if it would help.

              About the product
The bath soak promises to help to relax taut muscles. It contains Horse Chestnut which helps to improve the blood circulation which relieves feelings of tired and achy legs and arms. It thereby review to toning in this senses rather than toning your skin. In addition, it promises to lighten your mood and leave you feeling calmer and more relaxed.

How do you use the product?
You need to shake the bottle before using it. You can use the cap to help you with your measurements and you need to put 2 or 3 caps of the product into hot running water. You then simply climb in and enjoy. If you want to use the product as a foot bath, then you can insert 1 cap of the product into the water. Horse Chestnut is a very strong ingredient so in this case less will be more so don't go overboard with this product.

              Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a green glass bottle which isn't exactly bathroom friendly. It has a white screw top lid which you use to measure the product. The bottle will cost you around £15 for 200 ml and it can be bought from large department stores and also from a range of online websites.

              My experience
The product has the consistency of an oil so it is easy to pour into the cap. You need to be careful when holding the bottle because as it's glass, if your hands get slippery, if could drop and smash. The product has a relaxing scent which is warm and invigorating at the same time. It doesn't make bubbles or foam in the water so don't expect it to do so or you will be disappointed.

The aroma is quite strong and it does fill the room. Despite it being strong, it isn't overpowering and it doesn't become overwhelming. I use just two caps of the product because my skin can be sensitive sometimes. When I climb into the bath, it doesn't make my skin itchy or aggravated. The water doesn't feel oily and you can't really feel that the product is in there.

The product seems to relax my body well and mixed with the warm water, it does ease the tightness and burning in my neck and shoulder. It also helps to ease the heaviness in my legs a little bit. My legs get restless during the night and this also seems to help with this problem which is a massive relief. The aroma of the product leaves my mind as relaxed as my body. When I climb out, the product doesn't really affect how my skin feels. It isn't softer or smoother, and there is no oily residue left on the skin. It doesn't leave any residue in the bath either.

              Conclusion
All in all, this is a lovely product which helps to relax the body and mind after a long day in work. It has a warm and relaxing aroma, and the product helps to relieve my tight muscles and restless legs. You mustn't use too much of this as the product is strong so less is more, but I really like this one and would recommend it.
