I stayed here last week to top off my trip to malaysia and the hilton in KL was by far the best hotel I stayed at in Asia and perhaps have ever stayed at - if I was going back to Kuala lumpur I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!
Location.... its located across the road from Sentral station which is the main station in Kuala and links directly to the airport in fact it only takes 28 minutes by train no stops and if you are flying with Malaysia airlines or emirates you can check your bags in at the station all the way to london - what brilliant service!
The area around the hotel doesn't look amazing but all the trainlines/monorail etc go into sentral station so you can get anywhere quickly and easily!
Facilities.... the swimming pool was the only facility we used in the hotel which was enormous and snakes aronud the back of the hotel and has a slide for the children - was amazing although not very wide so not ideal for swimming lengths especially if busy. There is also a gym and I think tennis aswell but we didn't use those facilities.
THe room: Wow - looked brand new when in fact the hotel is several years old now. Beds were very comfy with egyptian cotton sheets. Big tv and lots of english channels, bathroom was huge with separate shower, and toilet as well as a huge bath.
the food: Breakfast was great and extensive selection with lots of different nationalities food. Had room service as well which was good The hotel is in a complex with the Le meridien hotel and there is joint signing between the hotels so you can eat at either of the hotels restaurants and sign it to your room - a really good system.
Service: everyone was helpful and made it easy for us to get whatever we wanted.
Only minor gripe would be that they didn't come to clean our room so when we got back from a long day out we had to ring down to get them to come and clean - which they did very promptly.
Overall an amazing hotel well worth a visit - paid about £70 a night with a half price deal on Opodo but good to mention that they add 5% tax and 10% service onto all the prices in the hotels in malaysia.
I stayed here for 1 night on the way back from visiting friends in the netherlands.
I picked it because its very central which was good and i also got a good deal through airmiles which was quite good.
The room itself was very small and slightly oddly shaped partially due to the hotel being in an old traditional amsterdam building.
It had a tv and comfy bed and a very nice bathroom but I was alone not sure if the double rooms are bigger but there wouldn't have been a lot of space for 2 people + bags!!
Location - its walking distance from the trainstation, the main shopping area and you can walk to all the major attractions very easily.
Food - I only had breakfast in the hotel which was fine nothing special but absolutely fine.
Service - the staff in the hotel were very friendly and met all of my requests including providing a good map and pointing out all of the attractions and how you should get to them.
After a couple of days of walking lots I bought a multi trip ticket for the trams which was very quick and relatively easy to use to travel to some of the slightly fruther out attractions such as Van gohs museum etc.
overall - good hotel and would stay again if i got a good price!
This is quite an odd hotel - its next to the airport and a retail park so quite convenient but is no where near the centre of liverpool and would cost about £15 in a txi to get there.
THe leisure facilities are very good - free use of the david lloyd leisure centre next door which has tennis courts, squash courts, gym and a bit swimming pool.
The food - one word really edible but not a nice and very fatty/greasy but better than damons which is the restaurant outside incredibly greasy!
The service - very good - nice friendly reception and helpful staff.
The rooms - ageing a bit , comfy bed, you sink into it but it was tricky to get out as was actually very comfy.
The bathroom was nice - on the executive floor there is a free lounge with drinks which is nice.
Breakfast was ok but nothing to write home about.
Overall ok for one night 2 at a push but no longer unless you have dinner plans every night. Other key point being that there is no business centre just one very old computer with an even older printer!
Stayed in this hotel last year for about 12 nights and had an absolutely amazing stay.
Dubai itself is an interesting city - you can't exactly walk around you need to get taxis whereever you go so make sure you pick a hotel in the right area what kind of activities you have planned
This was a relaxing holiday trip so we wanted to be near the beach so this location was perfect. There was plenty to do in the hotel the swimming pools were great - especially the roof top pool which not everyone seemed to be aware of which was great. The rooms were perfect everything you would expect from a 5*. We played tennis - great courts used for professional matches however this is dubai and incredibly hot so make sure you are aware of what times are best for playing.
Overall restaurants were great - amazing meat restaurant.
We went to the shopping centre aswell whcihw as good and houses the indoor ski run which is crazy when you have sun burn as well.
overall super hotel would not hesitate to recommend or return myself!
On a trip to new york last spring to enjoy the strength of the £ against the dollar - my that was a well timed trip - I was looking for somewhere to stay for me and my sister that was central, clean and nice and not too expensive - all the more money for shopping! I discovered the novotel offer which had a "hot deals" offer on at the time which made it c. £100 a night much less than similar hotels round the times square area.
Be aware if this your first time to new york that "times square" description is not for a small area of new york but actually means anywhere within a good 10 mins walk of times square... but this hotel was good and centrally located.
The room was clean and spacious and the bathroom was nice and clean. It was not exactly what I would describe as 4 star probably 3 but was fine for what we wanted.
This is what let the hotel down for me..
Everymorning despite putting a do not disturb notice up the cleaning lady would come bursting in at c. 8:30 - yes we were having a lie in!!
I even complained at the desk but to little avail it happened again
When I went to complain at the front desk they went to get the manager who wanted to know what was wrong with the cleaners just coming in and then just walked off - not great customer service!
BReakfast in the hotel was about $20 per person which seemed a bit steep - there is a great cafe across the street where you can get a full american breakfast with singing - all the waiters are budding broadway actors - which is excellent.
All in all if you get a good offer a great place to lay your head!
Touche Eclat! - Does this really need reviewing with all teh press coverage it has had probably not but anyone out there considering buying a normal brand conceler instead of this - then this review is for you! Don't do it! Feeling I was being conned spending this much money on a product I tried lots of those other high street products out there and I can thoroughly guarantee it doesn't work as well and it certainly doesn't look as classy! This is a stylish product that works well - i use it everyday as part of my daily routine! I work very long hours and was constantly looking exhausting to the degree that people were commenting but now I use this I get comments about how refreshed I always look even if I have a pulled an all nighter the night before. My only word of advice would be that the price of this product varies hugely between shops - so make sure you shop around!
I have always been a little dubious over spending lots of money on products like this - I mean are you paying for the name / does it really contain anything different - well after reading the reviews on here and I saw the product on offer on a website I couldn't resist - the shopping bug got me and i had to buy it. I have been waking up with quite dry skin in the mornings and was looking for something to combat this. I work very long hours and the idea of looking like i had had a "good nights sleep" I have to admit was also very appealing. In summmary - this product actually works - I mean when you have had 3 hrs sleep theres no miracle cure but this leaves your skin refreshed and looking healthy which helps! In the winter months with the central heating on you need to nourish your skin and I can thoroughly recommend this - it might be a bit oily for those with problem skin but for normal to dry skin its a godsend!
I have had many phones over the years - have a habit of losing them quite a lot! I'm also fairly hard wearing on my phones - drop them multiple times etc and this phone has survived the best out of all my phones!! Its not the slimmest phone in the world but I have tried all kinds of other phones - ultra slim and sliders and at the end of the day they are great for the odd occasion you want to use a phone like that - but for day to day dialling and functionality you can't beat a sony eriksson. I got this one as at the time it was the latest phone out but - even now whilst I have had other phones with higher camera resolution this is my best buy in terms of ease of you and logically programming. Its nice to hold in your hand easy to make phonecalls, text and take pics what more do you really need!
for a basic functional phone - you will not beat this one. Also survive abuse like no other. My sister has one of these phones and has had it for 3 years now and its only now beginning to loose a little bit of functionality and make it seem like she might need a new one!!
After my 30gb ipod gave up the ghost i couldn't go back to any kind o mp3 player. the sony player i had before my ipod just didn't compare. This player is great - all the functionality you require in a sleek package. the sound quality is great and the ability to play videos is a nice addition to my previous player. the large storage capacity on this ipod is great - only downside is that i might need a bigger laptop to be able to store all of my music and videos on. The other downside to the ipod are the head phones that come with the ipod are not really up to scratch you can buy much better ones from the apple store for about c.20 but this is an unfortunate downside when you are spending so much money upfront on a music player - but overall the ipod can't be beaten - great buy!
What a film - best film I have seen of 2008. The film is brill with a beautiful setting, catchy tunes, great cast - what more could you want. Meryl streep has an amazing performance and the supporting actors are great as well - I mean a cast of Pierce Brosnan, Julie Walters, Christine Baranski and Colin Firth to name but a few - a star studded cast which is fab! I wasn't sure about going to see it at first get bored easily by bad films and thought this had the potetial to be a shocker "set to the Abba theme tune" - how wrong I was - it was a great film, the time flew by and before I knew it I wanted to go to greece, fall in love and watch the film all over again!! If you want an evening of fun and laughter to take you away from all the current woes at the moment - then this is the film for you!! I didn't look at my watch once during the film - thoroughly recommended!
This is my most favourite perfume of all time. The bottle is cool and looks stylish on my dressing table - the smell is slightly sweet and but always very feminine. The price varys dramatically from place to place to be careful where you buy it from and what size bottle you are expecting. I worked at the factory in newcastle where this is made and can say it meets strict guidelines on smell, colour and ingredients. I have sensitive skin but have never had a problem using this. I wanted a nice perfume that I could wear for special occasions and daytime wear as well and this perfume meets all of my criteria and excels I feel so much more confident when I wear this. THere is definitely something about smelling nice which helps you self esteem!! Great perfume can't recommend enough! Will be buying it again without question!
Stayed here last year for 2 weeks with work - was upgraded to an executive room - there was nothing executive about it! - the room smelled of smoke despite being no smoking, the room was incredibly small, breakfast was ok but there was some kind of chinese conference going on in the hotel so they laid on noodle and rice etc for them for breakfast in hte main communal areas of the hotel which was a bit irritating. THe gym is a tiny room and not worth staying at this hotel for. on checkin after a certain time they shut the front door and you have to go around the back of the hotel to get back in - not what you would expect for one of the hilton hotels!! It was convenient for the office which is why we chose it but i understand from colleagues there are better places to stay in Rotterdam
Good recorder with lots of functionality however at this price you would expect that !! Image quality is good and does everything you would want it too. Its a sleek black design which looks great with my black samsung tv. However there are many cheaper players which would do the job without having to spend this much money. Panasonic are a god make which offers quality - Good programme guide on the freeview player and the noise reductio detection really does seem to work - not really sure I understand how! The dvd recorder works well - just make sure you buy rewritable disks or recording like this could get very expensive. Generally a good product but I would look around at other products on the market before making a firm decision on this one. Good product, good design, good functionality but not a very good price unless you demand extra functionality for that price
This was a great buy! It has a core 2 duo Quad processor which is really fast - it has 2 GB of ram which is twice what my old laptop has! It also has a DVD rewriter - I have never had one of these before - and its great for saving photos on to disc so I don't loose them and can share them with friends. Its also surprisingly quick to do so compared to my previous cd writers!
And the 250 GB hard drive is also perfect as stores all of my photos and music with ease - now I just need to buy a new external hardrive to back up my new brill computer!
I was a bit unsure as my first computer was an acer and it was slow and clunky but not this one - Its functional and a great price which means more money for other things in life! You can't lose buy one! The graphics are also great and the fan isn't noisy at all which was a problem with my last desktop.
Good office machine and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
I bought the Wii fit at the end of last year as an inexpensive way to keep in shape. I know this is not inexpensive if you don't already have a wii but I do - and compared to £60 per month for gym membership - at £80 this was a good investment. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to use it well as previously I have bought yoga videos and ended up hurting myself - but this is great as it tells you when you are not holding the right position to try and combat these problems. I bought it predominantly for the yoga the other bits on the programme are ok but if I wanted to go for a run I would probably just go outside. If you fancy getting into yoga but aren't already an expert this is a great buy! I'm not sure its going to make me loose tonnes of weight but it stops me have the excuse of its too cold/wet to go the gym so was worth the money just to get me off the sofa!
Overall the balance board was a great idea from Nintendo and is great to be able to use the wii to keep in shape. Its not a replacement for going outside but on cold wet or snowy days is great tool. Its easy to use, instructions are clear and the fact that it has a safety mechanism to stop you hurting your self is a major plus over a keep fit dvd!
