      Perfect soap to help moisturise

The product comes packaged in a small box. The product itself is a white oval shaped bar of soap which is arched in the middle. The Dove name is printed on top of the bar. The bar is made with ¼ moisturiser which helps your skin to remain soft. If you normally get quite dry skin this could be ideal for you. You can a twinpack with 2 x 100g bars for £1.47. Opinion I think this is a really great product. The moisturising element of the bar makes this product so easy and soft. This would be ideal to use after a body scrub as it would replace your moisturiser that the scrub would take away. As with all Dove products the soap has a really nice fragrance to it which remains on your skin long after washing. The bar is really creamy so it is fine to use on its own. I wouldn't suggest using a shower puff as it is so creamy that this would get all caught up in the mesh. Just get yourself wet and rub the bar straight on your skin, clean and moisturised skin, done!

Definitely be stocking up while this is on 2 for £8!

As you know I am a fan of Organix hair care range. I was looking for a shampoo product without Sulfate and searched all the bottles on Boots shelf until I came across Organix. The first shampoo I tried was their Brazilian Keratin Therapy. The I saw this Moroccan Oil bottle, everyone seems to be raving about this at the moment so I jumped on the band wagon. The brand itself is pretty eco friendly. All of their products contain organic active ingredients. Their bottles are eco friendly made with recycled materials. This is a nourishing shampoo with a blend of Moroccan oil that somehow penetrates your hair shaft helping to restore your hair to itself natural gorgeous mane! The shampoo is blended with Moroccan Oil which moisturizes, softens and protects your hair from heat styling. I was really impressed with this shampoo. The smell isn't as delicious as the other ones in the range (thought not unpleasant) but the outcome was fab! The shampoo itself is a light yellowy colour, with like shimmery swirls in it (presumably the oil?). Even after just the first use of this shampoo (without conditioner) my hair felt so much softer and smoother. I have pretty rough hair sometimes from root to tip. So I need something strong that can work its magic and this seems to have done the trick. You can feel the oil is working on your hair it doesn't feel greasy but just so soft and healthy The bottle contains 385ml of product and costs £6.99 from Boots, I can't see them in any of the other shops. Boots currently have this on offer at 2 for £8. I would suggest you definitely buy this product, or maybe even 2 of them for £8!!

      Wouldn't buy it again

As you know I am a fan of Organix hair care range. I was looking for a shampoo product without Sulfate and searched all the bottles on Boots shelf until I came across Organix. The first shampoo I tried was their Brazilian Keratin Therapy. The I saw this pink bottle, one smell and in the basked it went. The brand itself is pretty eco friendly. All of their products contain organic active ingredients. Their bottles are eco friendly made with recycled materials. But what about the product itself? This is a rejuvenating shampoo with cherry blossom and ginseng that is safe for colour treated hair. The blend of ingredients helps to rejuvenate the scalp and follicle to add volume to your roots. There is also rice milk and bamboo extract to help hydrate your hair. To be honest I was disappointed. The smell is gorgeous but that's about all the praise I have for this product. I didn't notice any real difference to my hair after using it. And if I'm paying £5.99 for a bottle of shampoo I want it to make a difference. I felt as though it was just like any other shop brand shampoo. It cleaned my hair and smelt nice, but the benefits stopped there. The shampoo itself is a kind of thick pink clear liquid. The bottle contains 385ml of product and costs £5.99 from Boots, I can't see them in any of the other shops. Boots currently have this on offer at 2 for £8. I would suggest you give this particular one a miss though. Try the others.

Brilliant shampoo, though a little expensive

I had been suffering from an itchy scalp for a few months. Not dandruff, just really itchy. I spoke to the hairdresser and he advised that a lot of the shampoos out there have sulfate and sodium in them, which are really bad for your hair. He explained that a lot of them have plastic in them so when you are washing your hair you are just clogging up your scalp with this. He recommended that I try some sulphate free products that he had in the salon, but at close to £15 for a bottle of shampoo I passed. On my next visit to boots I noticed a brand of shampoos called Organix. I hadn't seen these before and didn't know anything about the brand. The brand itself is pretty eco friendly. All of their products contain organic active ingredients. Their bottles are eco friendly made with recycled materials. But what about the product itself? Well first off it smells AMAZING! It's called Brazilian Keratin Therapy. It contains a blend of cocoa nut oil along in addition to keratin proteins that help to soften yet strengthen your hair. There is also organic avocado oil and cocoa butter which help to smooth the cuticle of your hair making it straighter and stronger. The shampoo is a light brown colour with what looks like translucent swirls in it. As with all other shampoos you wet your hair lather a 10p sized amount of this in your hands, (you wont see much lather here yet) and then wash your hair. This is where the lather starts to form. Sometimes I will rinse and repeat depending on how I feel. The end result is that my hair is smoother and looks shinier and smells great! My scalp is no where near as itchy now. I think this product for me really worked. Hopefully it could do the same for you. The bottle contains 385ml of product and costs £6.99 from Boots, I can't see them in any of the other shops. Boots currently have this on offer at 2 for £8.

Great for a little tan top up!

It's time to try out a little bit of fake tan, I'm going for sun kissed not orange. I don't really do fake tan, it's too much hassle and you normally only get your skin out in Summer and by then its a little bit tanned anyway. But I have a Ball to attend on Fri night and it's winter so I am whiter than Daz. I need a little bronze, but nothing that will rub off on my dress on the night. I need a fake tan that I can gradually build up over the week. Last year I had a disaster. I saw Ambre Solaire No Streaks Self Tan Body Wipes. Perfect I thought. Wipe them over my arms and I'll be good to go. So the night before the ball (I know rookie mistake) I wiped myself real nice with those wipes. I woke up the next morning and I looked like a brown and white zebra. Not a good look especially not for your works annual Ball. There was nothing for it, too late to do anything about it I had to go with it. At lunch time I had to go and buy more wipes and wipe over the bits that were still white. The end result was not as stripy but way too tanned! I have learned my lesson this year, so on Saturday I went searching for a self tan that would not leave me looking like a brown zebra. In Boots on Saturday I found this product by L'oreal. My bottle is a little different from the picture. I think it must be a newer bottle. Mine has a wide spray head so you just spray it on and don't need to rub in. You can use it on your legs as it still sprays if you have the bottle turned upside down. It's really easy to apply, just hold from 40cm away from the area and spray. If your skin feels wet, you are too close, so move back! This morning was my second application of the product and already I can see a change in colour on my skin, nothing drastic yet, but definitely "Sun Kissed!". Way better than Zebra. As the tan developed there was a little bit of the "fake tan smell" but not overly so. Better than others I have tried anyway. I bought this from Boots in a set with an exfoliator. This retails for £19.99 or the bottle on its own (150ml) is £15.99.

A good read for the commute to work or in the bath

Glamour is a magazine that most of you will have seen on newsagent shelves. It currently costs £2 and is issued monthly. There is a range of articles normally in this magazine. But you should expect to find articles on sex, men, fashion and real life stories. This is a magazine that I find myself buying more and more. It is less expensive than say Cosmopolitan and a little less risky! This months articles include the happy body issue, liposuction killed my mum, the making of Mrs Thatcher and a host of money off vouchers! I do like the articles that are written. The magazine is very much about females being in control - of their lives, career sex and relationships. And I like the perspective they are written from. The magazine is very much about knowing what you want from various areas in your life and how to get it! I'd say this is aimed at early twenties to late 30's and anyone else who fancies a read! This is in the same price range as other monthly magazines and it's a good read with not too many advertisements in it (I don't read Company any more as this has too many adverts for my liking.) There are also interesting articles on fashion and beauty and tricks and tips from beauty experts. If you haven't tried this before I would buy it one month, see how you get on with it. This magazine comes in a handy travel size so you can pop it in your bag to read on the way to work! There is also very often a free gift with Glamour. In the past these have included full size Nails Inc varnishes and small Benefit products!

Perfect way to tidy up your eyebrows

My eyebrows were in major need of tending, a bit like an overgrown garden, they needed a professional. I went into Debenhams today and spotted their Benito Brow Bar. At £13 for an eyebrow shape I thought this was pretty reasonable. I had experienced eyebrow threading before and did not enjoy it. One. Little. Bit. It was really painful, my eyes were streaming. But I was willing to give it a chance again today, and I am glad I did! The woman who was threading my eyebrows must have had some sort of wonder technique! It really wasn't that painful. One or two were a little sore, but you get that with tweezing anyway! To start with she wiped my eyebrows with tea tree oil and that was nice and refreshing. Then she threaded my eyebrows. I think she took about 10 minutes in total. I wasn't really counting, I was just lying back in their nice salon chair relaxing (big difference from the last place I went to, I was wriggling with pain!). Once she had done, I had some nice cream applied to my eyebrows, not sure what is was, smelled quite lemony but was so nice and cooling! I'm really happy with the outcome. My eyebrows are nice and shaped. And are not red or sore! I also received a loyalty card which gets stamped on each visit. After 7 stamps your 8th treatment is free. I'll be heading to Benito Brow Bar again!

      Nice addition but not necessary

I love Simple products. I have sensitive skin and need to be careful with what I chose to use. I happened upon Simple a few years ago and I haven't looked back since! I love their age resisting range. I'm 29 now and aware that I really have to be taking my skincare regime more seriously. These serum wipes are great. Each wipe has just enough serum on it to wipe over your face. You can use this under moisturiser so you don't have to worry about going without mosituriser. The serum is not sticky or oily, just refreshing. When I use this, it feels a bit like a face spritz! The face pads were very soft and not too fluffy, so you didn't get bits of fluff on you. There is no fragrance to these pads, that's the beauty of Simple - fragrance free products. To be honest, I'm not sure that I fully felt the benefit of it, my skin did not feel any more different than just using my moisturiser. I stopped the serum pads and I must say that I didn't really feel a difference. They were a nice addition to my beauty regime but not one that is necessary a keeper.

      A delicious candle

I have recently just got into candles. My sister is a huge fan of Yankee Candles so seeing and smelling what she uses has led me to also become a fan of Yankee Candles. The candle is a gorgeous red colour. And the smell of the candle is delicious. Knowing the candle is called Christmas Eve at first I was expecting some sort of mulled wine/spiced fragrance. The fragrance is actually pretty sweet but not overpowering. More like a candy cane. It's a candle you can use not just at Christmas as you wouldn't associate the fragrance with Christmas. It is just a really nice fragrance. The candle will last you for a while. My medium jar has lasted so far for around 16 hours burn time, but I'd say I'm not even half of the way through this yet. As this is a Christmas product it's unlikely you'll be able to get this in the shops, until next Christmas. I would suggest that you try the summer fruits candle as this is a similar fragrance. If you haven't tried a Yankee Candle yet, I would definitely give it a go now! They have a huge range for you to choose from.

      Drop it in your basket

On my weekly trip to boots I stopped at the Soap and Glory range. Their packaging caught my eye. They have a 50's pin up style element to them, but their narrative is straight to the point. I picked up their Scrub Actually body exfoliator. Their instructions read: "All you need is scrub. (Arguably, you might often also need soap and a tube of moisturiser.)" Love it! So in the basket it went! At £6.89 it's in the same price range as other body scrubs and its a tube of 200ml so will last a while. The scrub is a pink colour with lighter exfoliator beads in it. I washed and then used an amount just smaller than a golf ball for my whole body, everyone will be different, but this works for me! S&G advises it smells like blueberry but I think it smells more like grapefruit. Either way it smells great! You can feel the oil in the scrub when it is in your hands, but when you rub this in to your body it seems to disappear so you aren't left in an oily mess at the end! I focused mostly on my tops of my arms as they will be on show in my dress and the back of my thighs, as they could definitely do with a smooth down! The scrub is easy to rinse off, you're not left with little grainy bits over your body (a pet hate of mine). After drying my skin felt very soft and smooth. A few more of these this week and I'll be soft as a peach! I really liked this product, smells great, works well, washes off completely and leaves you feeling soft and smooth, The flip down top makes it easy to squeeze the scrub out. I don't like tubs where you have to unscrew lids, when you're wet in the shower this is difficult and you all the water from your hands drips into the pot. No good. So a flip bottle much better.

Perfect for early mornings in the shower

I love this product, it's not often you can get excited about showergels but this is one to get you out of bed in the morning. First the packaging is so nice and bright you can't help but reach for it in the shower on a cold dark morning! It has an easy dispense button so you aren't fiddling about taking lids off or opening lids. Just push the button and out comes some shower gel...and its actually gel. Like shaving gel. You don't need a lot of this, just a 10p sized blob in your palm. The amount of foam you get from this is UNBELIEVABLE! Just make sure your body is already wet or when you rub the gel on you'll kind of get stuck! The small blob you squeezed out will do for all of your body. In this product, a little really goes a long way. The colour of the product is orange and it smells delicious, really citrusy but not sickly sweet. My skin always feels very soft after using this. There are others in the range but this is my favourite because of the fragrance, I like something that wakes me up in the morning. Bottle size is 200ml and costs around £2.99. Can be bought in Boots, supermarkets and pharmacy's Happy Showering!

        Nice easy read

I don't believe in long book reviews, people need to read the book for themselves. I'm just writing a short review on a book to give people a taste for it! I love Cecelia Ahern's books and Time of My Life was no exception. About The main character, Lucy Silchester, is a busy women, like most of us. No time for herself let alone friends and family. After a while she starts to receive letters in the post...from her Life! Life is not impressed and wants an appointment with her. Through the book we are taking on the twists and turns that have lead Lucy to the point in her life she is at today. It becomes evident that Lucy is going to have to change not just for her sake, but it won't be an easy task. The journey she goes on is one that we will all recognise and one that many of us should think about taking part in. Opinion I'd say at the start the first thing you have to do is just accept the fact that peoples lives contact them. It's just part of the book and it's accepted by those in it so you have to accept it too! Once you get over this, the book itself is a really nice read. I enjoy a book when I feel like I am part of what is going on and can relate to the characters, I'm not sure of a single women out there who wouldn't relate to Lucy! Sometimes you just need n easy read, nothing to complicated, sad or taxing. It was a really nice, easy read. Perfect for when you want to relax with a feel good book snuggled up in bed! I give it 4/5!

Perfect for blasting away those winter blues

I think I've probably suffered from SAD for a few years now. This winter I decided enough was enough. No more dreading the cold winter mornings and not being able to get out of bed and just generally feel down in Winter. I searched on the internet for what would be the best Lumie light for me. I decided on this one as it was the tallest and I thought it would give out the most light, therefore give the biggest benefit. I bought my lamp from Boots for £139. This was an expensive purchase but one that I feel the benefits well outweigh the price. The idea is to sit in front of the lamp for 60-90 minutes a day (or whenever you feel you need a top up). The way I did this was sit it on a chair at the front and to the side of me while I was watching TV or reading a book. You shouldn't be looking directly into it, the light just has to reach your eyes. I felt the difference from the first few uses. Last time I put it on I actually smiled as soon as the light came on. I didn't notice this until it happened. It obviously has a good effect on me subconciously. I would definitely recommend the Lumie brand if you have SAD. There are various other products including a travel sized light and a desk lamp.

Not one I'll buy next time

I bought this deodorant when it was first launched. It was on special offer in boots - half price. Now, any deodorant that claims that it gives you 48 hour protection I think has to be a little exagerated. 1. It is unlikely that this will last that long and 2. most people shower everyday meaning the deodorant will wash off. But the promise of 48 hours signifies to me that this will more than last 24 hours. So did it.... Unfortunatley not. I had to spray this deodorant a few extra times during the day to keep dry. There isn't much of a fragrance to the bottle either which is fine if you are spraying perfume etc. But if you are using the deodorant because you perspire, I think it is best to have a little bit of fragrance with it. A 250ml tin of this costs £2.79 and should last around 1 month. This is currently half price at Boots. The spray element does have handy switch which you can move over to shut off the spray function. This is particularly handy if you are carrying the tin about with you as it wont spray by accident in your bag covering the contents in deodorant! In conclusion it worked ok, no better than any other deodorants I have tried and perhaps actually not as well as others I have tried. Not one I'll be buying again.

          Advantages

          Not worth reading

I really enjoyed Alice Sebold's Lovely Bones. When I saw this novel by the same author I was looking forward to reading it. Unfortunately I wasn't impressed. This books focuses on 24 hours in the life of Helen Knightley. The first sentence in the book is "When all is said and done, killing my mother came easily." So this sets the tone of the book. We soon learn that Helens mother had Dementia and suffered from other mental illnesses. The book starts off promisingly enough with an opener like this. It draws you in. However, after the first 3 or 4 chapters it just goes downhill. I don't want to spoil this book for anyone who does want to read it. But during the book we learn that Helen is also quite mentally ill. Some of the things she does and things she says are really quite disturbing. During the 24 hours that this novel is set in, Helen has flash backs to her childhood, teenage years and later. This gives us an insight Helens life and how she came to the decision of killing her mum and how she turned out to be how she is today. If you like, the events in her life that have shaped her to be the person she is today. The book jumped about a little bit for my liking and I couldn't really connect with Helen. It wasn't an enjoyable read for me and I wouldn't recommend it.
