Totalise's service is fast, reliable well like any other paid for isp, except this one pays you. This is a great way to reward its users. And a great incentive for most people to get online via totalise. All they ask you is that you initally use the sevice for 300 hours a month for 3 months. This may sound a lot but think of the money you will get in the end. They have an excellent e-mail service that you can read at home or on any pc in the world through their home page. By sending mail using your totalise e-mail you get even more shares for promoting the company. I currently have around 900 shares in the firm. But right now their share price isn't doing very well. It is listed in aim, where you can check out the price. Currently this is around 10p. They also have a telecom service that proved really cheap phone calls to any where in the world. All you have to do is dial 138 before making a call. But you cave to register to take advantage. As well as this they also sell many items from flowers to cars. Go to their website at www.totalise.net and check out this deal.

Many British ISP’s have now been taken over by this Italian service provider. Who hasn’t yet mucked things up. Here are just two great services. Line One.Net You would expect good service, fast connection speeds, and E-mail from any good ISP, and that’s what you get from Line one. As well as all this you can also pay £9.99/month and get a great deal more- Unlimited evening and weekend calls. And peak rates are also very cheap at 1p a minute. Compared to BT this is 75% cheaper. Though to benefit from all this a BT line is required. Lineone’s portal is also well structured and also lets you check your E-mail from any PC in the world. But that’s not all, when you sign up they give you a £5 Amazon.co.UK voucher to spend. As well as a free CD-ROM worth £29.99. You can choose from a great selection including games and other software. Worldonline.co.uk has many different packages and can suit all needs. Whether you are a heavy all day surfer or the occasional once in a month surfer. You could opt for their pay as you go service; this has no monthly charges. Or if are a more frequent user why not chooses their ‘Tiscali 50’. This has a monthly subscription charge of £5.99. With this service they give you 50 free hours to use any time of the day. But if you thought that wasn’t enough you can pay an extra £3.99 and get a further 50 free hours. Or if you want a service to match AOL’s or BT’s then pay just £14.99 and surf 24 hours a day without racking up that phone bill. Perhaps Worldonline could have reduced this £14.99 so it could have attracted a lot more users. For the same price why would you choose this over Freeserve or BT’s anytime service. That’s not all, they even cater for those who have much larger incomes. Their whopping £39.99/month package. For this you will need to get an ADSL line. Installation would b
e around £200. From these 5 packages I chose the 50-hour package. This is simply because I use the net quite a bit and cannot afford any of the other packages.

This was a hit on the PS2 and will hopefully be as much of a hit on the Dreamcast. For those of you who get scared from horror movies and games should skip this review. After four episodes Resident Evil has not lost its appeal or scaring power. Cinematic camera angles and cut scenes provide the gamer with a powerful film like effect. As with many horror movies you will see the occasional dead body, tapping on the windows and blood, but this won?t lessen the impact when the action does begin. You can play with one of three characters, Chris, Claire or Steve. Any of who seem unable to run and fire at the same time, this is the only minor squabble. The game starts after the destruction of raccoon city. Where you have to find your way around shooting at Zombies with either your shotgun, crossbow, AK-47 or the grenade launcher. The gameplay is rather good but pity about the clumsy controls that we?ve seen in earlier versions of Resident. The graphics are superb, especially the background buildings and scenery. The spooky effect is tripled with the great sound effects and music. Playing with the sound muted is for those who easily wet their pants. This game can get boring particularly if you?ve played and finished Onimusha. I?d give Res. Evil code veronica 7/10.

zone of the Enders is a robot fighting game. A young boy named Leo Starbuck is thrown into a position of massive power by forces well out of his control. Leo finds himself at the controls of an incredibly powerful robot fighter. In the game he is made to come to grips with the horrors of war and the pitfalls of life as he attempts to deal with his new responsibility. This game tries too hard at making Leo a cute little, sympathetic character. His personality gets quite boring though and pathetic. Hardship after hardship hit him as he sees his friends murdered his father killed and his girlfriend shot. Perhaps a game not for the kiddies then. The graphics are rather good pushing the PS2 to its limits, with smooth movement, but the design end seemed lacking. The game is ridiculously short and ends after only a few hours of play. Zone of the Enders is an action packed game but not a very interesting one. It is hard to imagine that the creator of ZOE also made the excellent metal gear solid. After completing the game I traded it in and instead got something worthy of the money. Oh by the way you get Metal Gear Solid 2 demo included. If you can?t wait for MGS2, then you will probably buy ZOE just for that.

The game is still pushing PC technology boundaries. Flight sim is more than just an update to this much-loved series. It brings loads more features to transform desktop flying into a whole new experience. This game was recently in the papers for being delayed. This was because the team behind Flight Sim 2002 decided to change some of the scenes, as in the game you were allowed to fly around in New York and even crash into many of the buildings. But hopefully they managed to successfully change this. This has to one of the most expensive games to hit the shelves, I cannot afford to buy this each year it comes out. But many aircraft fans I know fork out for the large amounts of money it costs. The graphics make it an exciting visual experience. Much research has gone into developing this game just right. The ground textures were taken from satellite images. Buildings spreading out in all directions while landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament and Royal Albert Hall nestle amongst the generic buildings. Although the game gives the impression that the Houses of Parliament are directly opposite the millennium dome. The effects are also rather good. Like tyre smoke and skid marks. As with most Microsoft software there are multiple versions on sale; Standard and Professional. The latest FS includes extra aircraft, but is mainly aimed at developers. You'll be glad to know that, even with all the changes made, FS2002 actually runs better than FS2000. A 500MHz Pentium III computer is recommended but if you want to get the best you should have at least an 800MHz processor. If you don?t have a PC with high enough spec then really don?t bother. If you are an aircraft addict, but cannot afford the massive price tag then take yourself along to Heathrow and watch T5 being built. This has to be the only game that comes out each year, but yet this one seems to be worth it. The main improvement in FIFA 2002 is gameplay, designed to make the playing experience a bit more exciting and realistic. If you have just got yourself a bargain PS2 for less than £199 then this will be a great treat to go alongside the mighty hardware. If however, you bought last year's FIFA don't expect too much apart from new player moves and animations. While EA Sports leads the way graphically like many of its other sports titles, other football games can play significantly better. One area FIFA definitely shines ahead of other games is in the commentating. With many options including a World Cup Qualifying mode. FIFA 2002 is certainly attractive. But is it the best PlayStation 2 football game? It?ll do for now. Nevertheless here is an enjoyable exciting game. If you haven?t got any of the previous versions of FIFA then this is a great game. If you do then don?t bother.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

Yes this is another sequel to those Resident Evil games for the PS and PC. There's nothing worse than an infestation of flesh-eating zombies - a point that Jill Valentine, agent of S.T.A.R.S., is likely to agree with. But here she is again all the same, in the third instalment of the PlayStation favourite Resident Evil, armed and ready to make mincemeat of the legions of undead that come her way. Set immediately after the fateful events of the first Resident Evil game, Nemesis works on the same third-person action principal and doesn't have many new tricks up its sleeve, but this new angle gives the game a better look. Let's just say that if you liked the first one, then you'll probably get along just fine with this sequel. If you hated it or simply were too frightened however, then there's nothing in Resident Evil 3 worthy enough to tempt you into spending the £30+. The gameplay smacks of a lazy transition from console to PC. Obvious limitations in the game, like its poor graphics - of which more later - might be something that you'd put up with on a low-spec platform, such as the Sony Playstation. On a PC with plenty of power under its skin, it may perhaps look old fashioned, which in some cases can interfere with your gameplay. For instance, there's a valley of difference between the flat-looking background graphics and items that you are able to interact with. Maybe the designers wanted the graphics to be this way.

**UPDATED** The Tekken series has to be the best family of beat-em-ups ever. Tekken Tag has to be the father in the family. You’ll find great tag team battles, with over 40 characters to choose from, each with their own catalogue of special moves; you’ll never get bored. The more you play, the more key features that’ll be unlocked to your advantage. As well as the much talked about Tekken Bowl. This could have been sold separately as a game on its own; so count yourself lucky as you are getting two for the price of one. BARGAIN! You also get a magnificent opening FMV, with superb graphics and stunning special effects. The tag option adds a different dimension to the usual old boring punch and kick games. £39.99 is the price of TTT and well nearly all other PS2 games. This game should really be well worth considering. If you have the superb Sony hardware to play TTT on, then this game is a must, even if it is a disguised version of the arcade game. If you have the cake then this is the icing to go with it. Dead Or Alive 2's graphics look quite good although not as detailed as Tekken's. Then you notice just how much is going on and get more impressed as you play. The major difference between the two games is that in DOA2 you are also able to damage part of the background scenery, jump down floors, etc. The inclusion of this in Tekken TT would have further still improved upon this excellent game. DOA2 wins hands down when it comes to the environments you fight in. If you prefer to have some limited interaction with the levels and even multistage levels, then DOA2 is the place. Particularly good moves can result in your opponent being smashed into a wall that may collapse to reveal another section of the level, with great explosions with the impact. The combat flows as well as most movies and most of the moves will leave you cringing. When critical hits and all the other comb
at factors start to come into the fight it goes to a whole new level that the likes of Street Fighter can only dream about. It takes an hour or so to realise that there are dozens more moves to each character than you first thought. This game is perhaps much harder to pick up on than TTT. If you’re a novice with beat em ups, then be warned. It's only when you've mastered these moves that you can think about trying out the game's other modes. The Time Attack mode lets you battle through all the characters in the game and then try and do it again, only faster. Tag Battle is a straight two-finger salute waved in the direction of Tekken by allowing you to fight two on two, rather than just single-fighter action. This allows four players to get into the game. Survival mode gets you in the arena while the other fighters take it in turns to try and give you a total shoeing, and clever moves or counters result in various power-ups being dropped into the arena - just make sure you have time to get to them as the onslaught continues. The Sparring mode is a practice section and it's all rounded off with a Team Battle section. Dead Or Alive 2 injects the skill back into a slugfest. The last game to need skill to win was Street Fighter on the SNES, and DOA2 is in that same form. It will be good new to some to hear that the sequel to this will be on the Xbox, while others will be crying. After playing on a friend’s copy I decided not to splash my hard earned pocket money on this game.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

The Bouncer is one of the strongest graphical demonstrations of the PlayStation2 hardware so far. When playing it appears as though you are a character in a movie, the camera movements and special effects appear as though they are straight out of a Hollywood film. The Bouncer is a fighting game in the same genre as fighting force on the PSX. You've got huge, open environments, weapons lying around ready to be used much more. If it's there, you can use it in battle for example take the tables, chairs, or anything else you can lay your hands on. With the fighters seemingly able to do just about anything. The idea is that you walk around beating up any one that gets in the way. Sounds boring and in fact it is just that. To make this much more exciting a few extra levels could have been added as I managed to complete the game in less than 2 hours. This game seems to lack in having the extra modes such as fight against your mates or perhaps even capture the flag. Although the game may look and sound great that does not mean to say the gameplay is good. It is far from it. Luckily for me I decided to rent the game first and saved over £30. If you have got it, it won't be long before you go down to the high street to trade it in and find that it has lost 3/4 of its value. Go and get something decent like Grand theft auto 3 or smack down as it has been released a week earlier.

we all loved The original Grand Theft Auto wanting more. This is the much-awaited sequel to the wicked series of grand theft auto games. The main thing that impressed every one about the game was the openness of the game play. It was perhaps the most offensive game released up until then, and appeared on many TV shows for the outrageous gameplay. After a standard-fare sequel, finally the highly anticipated 3rd game in the series was released. The previous versions were all 2D, playing from a birds-eye view this new game is much mere realistic and 3D. Becoming one of the best 3D action games ever made. This game is not for young kids as it has been certified 18. And should be kept that way as many young kids seem to have a rather small gap between reality and computer games. The content involves swearing, stealing, running over, shooting, killing, etc, etc. The cops, when chasing you down, will work together to try to take you out. One car will get on your left, the other on your right, and they?ll just ram you from both sides in the hopes of getting you off the road. They?ll chase you down on foot too. So will pedestrians if you anger them enough. Depending on a persons personality, they may either choose to ignore that punch, or maybe they?ll decide to fight back and attempt to beat you up. If you have a PS2 then you will have to go out and splash the £35 on this game, rather than any other. Definitely 5 out of 5.

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

The question many people will be asking is whether or not to invest in the rather high price. Whenever Microsoft launches a new piece of software it says 'this has to be the biggest thing since err... Windows 95,' and yes they said it for the launch of Windows XP on October 25th. **THE COST** The standard upgrade costs £89.99 (And you need to have windows 98,2000, ME or NT already installed on your PC.) And you'll need to buy the full version for a whopping £179.99 If you have any operating system prior to Windows 95. The professional upgrade version will set you back £169.99, while the standard professional version will make a massive dent in your pocket at £259.99. Microsoft is running a promotion, buy before 31st Jan 20002 and get £50 cash back. But the only thing is you have to purchase the standard professional version for £259.99 to be eligible. **WHY GET IT?** So do these extortionate prices justify what you will get? I've been lucky enough to have a play on my brothers 'XP' PC and from what I've seen it?s a definite NO! NO! He upgraded from Win 98 and experienced many hardware and software problems. Installation took around 55 minutes after which became apparent that his Primax scanner, FujiFilm Digital camera, Hitachi DVD ROM, Norton Antivirus, and Norton Cleansweep were all incompatible and will not work on 'XP'. This is because the manufacturers do not intend to release software updates for these items. Even I've contacted these companies but they told me they cannot offer any further help. This is not the only hassle you are likely to face if you choose to upgrade. Most likely the stuff that is compatible with 'XP' will need updating from the Internet. Microsoft provides basic drivers for certain peripherals. But if you want to do more than the basic you'll need to spend a few hours downlo
ading the relevant drivers and updates. **WHAT'S NEW** The first difference you'll notice (if you do decide to go for it) is that the start menu has changed. The start button has gone green, with the menu increasing in size to hold more items. The colour scheme has also changed, and if you're not a big fan of the colour blue, forget it. One of the best features included is the system restore function that allows you to roll the clock back on your PC if you have encountered problems, e.g. Software installation gone horribly wrong. There are also a few extra games but many of which require Internet connections for play. You also have a function called Remote Assistance where you can ask a friend (someone who also must also have XP) to fix a problem on your PC from the comfort of your friend computer. Windows media player is also new and cannot be downloaded from the net. It includes new skins and visualisations. Internet explorer has also had a revamp. Firstly it looks different but more importantly it has a firewall built in, new security measures and a cookie manager. Another plus point for this operating system is that it is more stable and less likely to crash. This is because if a programme stops responding, instead of restarting your computer you can just shut down the offending piece of software. A nice touch on 'XP' is that every member of the family can have their own login details. This allows each member to customise their desktop, save their files etc. and not having to annoy dad. Unlike the previous operating systems whereby even if you did not know the password you could log in. this is different you won't be able to get in. I think that the disadvantages sadly outweigh the plus points. Microsoft could perhaps done a bit more work to make sure more things were compatible with its new OS. So the moral before you take the 'XP' plung
e is to contact the manufacturer of your PC, any hardware and software on your computer to see if meet the requirements, whether or not there are updates and if you will be OK to upgrade.

Whenever Microsoft launches a new piece of software it says ?this has to be the biggest thing since err?Windows 95,? and yes they said it for the launch of Windows XP on October 25th. The question many people will be asking is whether or not to invest in the rather high price. I?ve been lucky enough to have a play on my brothers ?XP? PC and from what I?ve seen it?s a definite NO! NO! He upgraded from Win 98 and experienced many hardware and software problems. Installation took around 55 minutes after which became apparent that his Primax scanner, FujiFilm Digital camera, Hitachi DVD ROM, Norton Antivirus, and Norton Cleansweep were all incompatible and will not work on ?XP?. This is because the manufacturers do not intend to release software updates for these items. Even I?ve contacted these companies but they told me they cannot offer any further help. This is not the only hassle you are likely to face if you choose to upgrade. Most likely the stuff that is compatible with ?XP? will need updating from the Internet. Microsoft provides basic drivers for certain peripherals. But if you want to do more than the basic you'll need to spend a few hours downloading the relevant drivers and updates. **WHAT
?S NEW** The first difference you'll notice (if you do decide to go for it) is that the start menu has changed. A nice touch on ?XP? is that every member of the family can have their own login details. So the moral before you take the ?XP? plunge is to contact the manufacturer of your PC, any hardware and software on yo
ur computer to see if meet the requirements, whether or not there are updates and if you will be OK to upgrade.

Both the new GBA and the PSOne are small enough to take on a long journey but the question is which one to get. We were all excited to get our hands on this new super mini console, but were heavily disappointed at what we got. One of the initial problems you come across is the extremely reflective screen that is very hard to play games with. The problems seem to lie with either the screen or the colours within the games. You would have expected Nintendo to have done their research and development properly, but it seems they haven't. Another major problem is that the screen has only been made a centimetre larger than its predecessor. It is so small and hard to look at, that you will probably need glasses in a few years time. Then we can all look back and moan at Nintendo. From newspaper reports I have read that Nintendo are planning to use a different screen manufacturer for the next batch of GBA's to be produced. So what are they going to do about the current unsatisfied customers who have been sold the rubbish models? It is claimed that the Game Boy Advance has the same power, graphically as the PSOne. But this does not seem to be the case at all. From the current selection of games it seems that the GBA has the same power as Nintendo's previous machines such as the SuperNintendo (SNES). It seems that they have just re-released the past collection of games including Super Mario (now re-named Mario Advance) and Mario Kart. The half decent games are coming from third parties. If you are planning on getting one, put it off for now. For when the price drops and the screen has been drastically improved upon. Instead of buying a GBA why not get the new portable PSOne. A screen has been released, which is significantly larger than the GBA's. A third party manufacturer for the PSOne screen has also included a portable TV, so that you do not miss your favourite soap on the move. Even though the Playstation
will cost slightly more, it is definitelyworth it, because of the library of 1,000's of games available at half the cost of GBA games.
