Well where do I start with the Maclaren XLR, we have a disabled son and we looked at this as it has a larger seat unit and goes upto a nice 15kg, unfortunatly for us it just wasnt suitable for him but I will do a review on the short time I have spent with this puschair.
First Look -
To start with the pram looks lovely, it looks so comfortable for baby or toddler, it had a lovely padded reversible pram liner which is in two colours, black on one side and lime green on the other, also came with head hugger to support baby. The one thing I loved about the look of this pram was the fantastic sun visor and hood it unzips and comes very far down over baby!
I Would say the main pros of the pram is the ease to push, the wheels move so nice and smooth and they are rather chunky to make going over most terrain pretty easy! I have never had any problems with the wheels which with most buggys and the weight of my son I have done.
It is also perfect for tall people I Am 5ft 9 and I Can push with comfort as the handles do go into three different height positions, I also love the fact the seat is larger and more roomy for an older child.
Hmm now this is a hard one because to be honest there isnt much wrong with this pram I Would say the only thing I found was the handles can be uncomfortable to hold for long periods of time and its impossible to push one handed.
Overall I think this is a wonderful pushchair and perfect for anyone that walks a lot or for short journeys to its an umbrella fold and does fold up reasonably small for a car boot.
Its so easy to push and children do look comfortable and supported I would recommend this pram to anyone!
We had been looking into getting a chipmunk for quite some time, and we finally made our mind up so off we went to the pet store and found a gorgeous albino male and it was love at first sight!
The Set Up -
Chipmunks needs a reasonable sized cage the smallest you would require would be at least 5 foot high and at least 2 foot in length and that would be to house 1 chipmunk, even though they are small animals they do like a lot of space - and a wire cage only! due to there natures to climb everything.
You need to make sure they have lots of activites to do, they need to be able to climb, hide and play so ideally you would have brances, perches, ladders for their climbing some little dens for them to hide and sleep in our chipmunk also has a hanging sleeping bag and hammock which he loves a lot! you can never realy have too many toys in there cage!
Most chipmunks dont like to be handled, you can pop your hand in to feed them and they will take food from your hand just watch your fingers as they do have sharp teeth, however if you get a chipmunk from a young age and do keep handling - stroking etc they make lovely pets - ours likes been tickled and stroked but will not be held.
Feeding - Chipmunks are generally on there own food which is bought in most pet stores just in a bag its mixed seeds, oats etc but you can also give them apples, bananas, monkey nuts any foods that are dry realy they dont like wet foods but they are pretty cheap to feed!
This realy does depend on where you go! If you are going to a pet store then you are probably going to end up paying a lot more, i would recommened looking online for a cage ours cost us £129 without anything in it we then had to spend around £50 on toys and activites in the cage and then of course the little fella cost us £34.99 - i would advise to look online and buy a chipmunk maybe with full set up and you will probably save yourself quite a lot of money!
If you are wanting a low maitence pet that is fantastic to look at then the chipmunk is probably for you, i can sit and watch our little man for hours they do make great entertainment and the best thing of all they dont smell!
I have been debating wether or not to write a review for virgin media for a while now because i usually like to weigh up the negatives and the positives and if im honest i dont think i can find any positives with this company so i apologize in advance for the moaning!
Now where do i start?
The customer services are shocking, they are rude and very unhelpful i have had nothing but problems with them even when reporting issues with there services its always the same old answers and i generally end up resolving the problems myself!
The services arent up to scratch realy either if im honest, the internet has issues all the time with slowing down and cutting out - whenever you phone there of no use!
The tv service isnt too bad, i havent had many problems with that cutting out, so i guess i could say thats a positive but thats pretty much all i can say good about the company.
I dont think virgin media is very good value for money either, they seem to do loads of offers for NEW customers and leave the exisiting customers with nothing, after ringing and speaking to them asking if there was any dicsounts / offers available for long standing customers the simple answer was no, they like to do incentives to get new customers but dont seem to be too bothered about keeping the customers they already have.... what a joke.
All in all i think there is plenty of better places out there to get your internet, tv and phone services from i wouldnt go back to virgin media even if you paid me! Horrendous!
FIRST LOOK - We was wary at first about trying these nappies as we had no success with other stores own brands, but after hearing some good reviews we thought we would give them a go and I have to say they are the best. The packaging isn't that great to be honest and it's nothing special but they do the job.
PROS - They don't leak well we have found they don't anyway! We have tried expensive nappies, cheap nappies every nappy you can think of and had problems with all of them but not these. They fit lovely and I find they are really good through the night as well.
CONS - None
SUMMARY -I would recommend these nappies over huggies, pampers and any other store brand too. I would never go back to any others now as you really don't need to! Everyone I have spoken to who use these also say the same and the best thing is there good value for money too!
WHERE TO BUY / PRICE - Asda and they are £5.97
FIRST LOOK - The first thing you notice about Build A Bear of course is the bright blue and yellow logos and of course the mass of teddy bears and of course don't forget the clothes!
The shops look very tidy and very child friendly they are usually spacious and have a nice range of bears to choose from!
PROS - The main pro of course is the kids love them, they enjoy choosing their very own bear and being able to stuff it and of course there then able to choose the clothes and accessories too. The staff always seems friendly and are able to help with anything and it's not just the kids that love it I have to say I enjoy it there aswel!
CONS - The only con I would have to say is the fact it's very expensive there is some cheaper bears but even they start at £9 and then of course most children will want an outfit which start at around £10 and if they want shoes or accessories that's even more so you can be looking at around £40 sometimes for one bear!
SUMMARY - I do like this store very much, and I love the fact there is a very large range of bears. One thing I like as well is the clothes they do they do various outfits including characters like toy story, care bears etc. they always have some themed bears at the moment they are doing a Smurf theme which is fantastic. There is one tip I would say though stay away from any of the pony's that are on all fours as they advertise them with roller skates which then means you have to buy two packs of shoes and two packs of roller-skates as they don't do four packs which is an instant £20 spent!
WHERE TO BUY / PRICE - The one and only build a bear workshop or of course online (but where is the fun in that) the bears start at £9 and go up to around £18
FIRST LOOK - We saw this highchair while shopping in store at Asda and looking at it in the box it looked great also looked like everything we needed, the seat reclines to a laying position it looked comfortable and sturdy, and then of course one of the main bonuses of this high chair is the frame and seat highers and lowers which turns it from a high chair into a little seat as well -amazing I thought but the problems soon became apparent.
PROS - The only pros I can find is the highchair looks good! And the seat is padded and comfortable and the main one to me is the seat that highers or lowers other than that there is no pros!
CONS - Where do I start! I had to take this back to the store as its not safe well for us it wasn't anyway! My son was 8 months when I put him in it and when you sit the seat up there is a gap between the frame and the chair where my son puts his arm down and then gets stuck and it has marked his arm a few times! The frame itself seems shaky and unstable and I just didn't like the feel of it at all.
SUMMARY - Personally I would stay away from this highchair and I definatly will not be buying one like this again! I don't think it's safe and to be honest it's not worth the money at all we had to return and get a more simple high chair which worked just as well if not better!
WHERE TO BUY / PRICE - These are available all over the internet but we got ours at Asda for £79.99
FIRST LOOK - When I first saw the Jumparoo I was very impressed it seemed to have everything on it that my baby would love the only down side for me was the size you do need a nice spacious place to put it!
The jumparoo has lots of activities on it with music and lights as well and of course one of the best things is the seat rotates 360 degrees so your baby can make great use out of everything. The last thing to mention of course is the fact that it's a bouncer, perfect for little legs and every child I seem to have met LOVES it!
PROS - I would say the pro is that I haven't met a baby yet that hasn't loved there Jumparoo, it seems to keep them occupied for a while they can play with the activities and also jump until there heart is content. The seat is nice and roomy and looks comfortable and it's very safe.
CONS - I think one of the cons is the noise that it makes! When your baby is jumping all the toys etc. rattle and shake and they do make a very loud noise as well as the seat moves up and down so you can't be watching no east enders when there playing! LOL I would say the price is a little bit on the high side too but if you buy them when your baby is young enough they will get a lot of use out of it!
SUMMARY - I would recommend this to anyone, my baby wouldn't settle in a normal baby bouncer but he loved this instantly! I would say to look around and try get one second-hand as you are going to be paying a lot for a brand new one!
WHERE TO BUY / PRICE - I would look online etc. and try and find a second hand bargain but if not then Argos do this one at £99.99
I was looking around online at the Cosatto Yo and i had to say i fell in love instantly i loved the fact there was so many designs and colours but didnt realy see one that caught my eye until the new one was released the cosatto yo pow and that was it! i HAD to order it which i did without even seeing one in the store!
This pram is lovely to look at and is very eye catching you always get comments etc, but to make it even better its so easy to push, and i havent struggled yet on any terrain! My son looks so comfortable and sleeps very well in it too!
It comes with its accessories which include the footmuff, the changing bag and also a raincover which is in a bag aswell! The pram lays completley flat for comfort so is suitable from birth too!
One of my favourite parts about the pram is the handle shape and height its so comfortable to push, and can be pushed one handed too!
I am yet to find anything wrong with this pram i have nothing bad to say at all!
I rate the pram 10 / 10. I have had no issues with it at all, and would reccomend to anyone i think its well worth the money and i think i am going to have this pram for a very long time!
I have to admit i am one of theese people that just love a bargain and i cannot resist B&M i must go into it when ever i am in town and i can guarantee every time i go in i come out with something!
They have a large range of products from food to furniture and its always at realy good prices. They seem to always have loads of stock in and restock there shelves very fast.
The staff are realy friendly in my local store and will go that extra bit furthur to have a look at stock in the back room etc.
Good Points - Its low priced but good quality, they have loads of products always have items for seasons like christmas and you can get pretty much everything you need! Staff are friendly and the store are laid out very well and its easy to find what you need!
Negatives - i realy cant see many negatives but i bet my bank balance can! :)
Overall - I think its a fantastic store and im pretty sure if you go in you will come out with something you needed! Christmas time is best and they have a huge range of low priced childrens toys but there not rubbish either!
I have had the skate for around three months now and so far so good! We got this as it looked pretty little weight but also had the option of being parent or wold facing!
Good points -
So far I have found that it's lovely and smooth to push on most terrains, you can also push one handed if need be which is very useful if you have more than one child!
The seat is also very roomy which is perfect for larger children, I find my little boy to look so comfortable in there and he sleeps soundly while out and about. The skates seat also lays very flat making it perfect from birth and with it being able to face you and then as they get older face the world it's an ideal first pram.
I think one of the best point about the skate is the ability to higher and lower the handle with me being tall this helps a lot!
I haven't found that many negatives yet but the main one for me is the shopping basket or should I say lack of, there is a tray underneath were you can strap your shopping in bu if you have a few bags this can be very tricky and also it's a full handle so you can't hang any bags there either without bag clips!
The other negative I find is the chassis can feel very shaky at times it has a small rocking motion but after speaking to mamas and papas apparently this is very normal and not a fault with the pram.
I am going to give the skate four out of five stars as it does what I need it to do, it's relatively light weight, comfortable and stylish. I would recommend this pram to others as long as you don't need to store too much shopping! I think the buggy is perfect for newborns upto toddler age! And at a reasonable price.
I shop at Morissons every week, and we get quite a lot for our money.
They have a lot of the latest products, and a lot of the time they have special offers on them aswell which is brilliant.
Morissons always have hundreds of offers to choose from and unlike some supermarkets who put offers on things you dont need everyday, Morissons dont do this they have offers on your everyday items and loads of buy one get one frees.
I love the baby range they have aswell, and the nappies they have are good value and good quality, they sell a few toys but not many which i think they could sell a few more of.
The staff are usually very friendly, and are quick at helping you if its not on the shelf they will go look in the back for you to see if they have it and in my experiece i cant say that about most supermarkets, the staff always seem to be cheerful aswell which is always a pleasure to see.
I would recommend Morissons to anyone realy it has great products at realy good prices, some brilliant offers, the staff are great, the ques can be long but they usually are in all supermarkets, I think one suggestion which would be good is for them to have there own clothing range like most of the supermarkets are doing now.
What can i say galaxy is better than sex.... i would rather have a big bar of galaxy anyday!! =)
I have to say its the best chocolate around, it has the great melt in your mouth texture, and the taste is sooo creamy, it doesnt melt in your hands (or wrapper) quick like other chocolate can either as its quite thick.
I am a choc o holic and i know galaxy isnt excactly the healthiest of things but i just cant resist here is the nutrition information:
Per 46g bar (the smaller ones)
Calories - 250
Sugars - 25.6g
Fat - 14.9g
Saturates - 8.9g
Salt - 0.12g
It is suitable for vegetarians aswell.
The chocolate bars usualy retail at around 50p for the small ones and then in supermarkets i usually get the bigger bars for around £1 but you can also buy REALY big ones for about £3 but they are huge so i tend not to buy them because i would eat it in one night!!
Overall my favourite chocolate and definatly worth trying
ABOUT THE GAME ---
Operation was produced in 1965 by Milton Bradley, I have read up on the game and it says it is an update to the good old fashion wire loop game (the one withe the wire and you have to get the loop over it to the other end without the buzzer going off)
You can buy this game from most toy retaliers, argos, toys r us, woolworths and plenty of places online it usually retails at about £9.99.
AIM OF THE GAME ---
The aim of the game is to remove all of the plastic body parts from the board without the buzzer going off.
set of cards
12 plastic body parts
board with tweezers attached
HOW TO SET UP THE GAME ---
Take the board from the box (the one with the man on hehe), put the batteries in first 4xAAA batteries.
Take the plastic body parts and put them in the correct holes on the board, decide whos going first and then the first person has to select a card and remove the body part which is on the card but be careful if you set the buzzer off then you have to put the body part back in and pass it onto the next person.
Keep going until all body parts have gone the one with the most wins!
A fun game to play with the kids they realy seem to enjoy it, and if you have a shaky hand... GOOD LUCK! I can never win this game but its worth playing and i would recommend giving it a go.
I dont want loads of comments saying my review is wrong about the gameplay.. there is a lot of versions of this game out now and all are slighly different i have done this review on the one my daughter has
SPLASHY THE WHALE ---
AIM OF THE GAME ---
The aim of the game with splashy the whale is to fish for differnt items in his mouth things like.. fish, floats and anything sea life, but you have to be very careful if you touch his tongue he will squirt water at you.
The game is suitable for 2 or more players and from 5 years up.
1 splashy the whale
4 plastic sea horses
3 plastic fish bones
2 plastic anchors
2 plastic life preservers
1 plastic submarine
1 plastic fishing rod
1 instruction leaflet
HOW TO SET IT UP ---
Setting up splasy is pretty simple you take him out of the box, remove him from his little stand.. take the bottom to the top fill it up with water bring it back put splashy back on (and of course make sure you have added the batteries before all this 4xAA) and then put all your plastic pieces in his mouth and turn him on.
Take it in turns to try and get a piece out of his mouth each piece is worth differnt points (it tells you how many there worth in the instructions)
Well this game can be very funny.. but messy aswell!
My niece who is 5 got this for christmas me being the daft one didnt know anything about it noone told me i came in the room and was like oh yea ill play.. so i stuck the rod in the whales mouth not expecting anything and i got soaked... i actually jumped... and they were all telling me before i did this to bend down.. oh no they were saying its harder when your on your knees so bend down.. obvisouly so then the water would spray in my face!
The kids love it... they realy do just put a towel on the floor or something but dont expect to be dry when you have finished playing a realy realy good game!
THE SIMS ! EXPANSION TRIPLE COLLECTION ---
Not the best game around at all... well now i say that, when it first came out i was obsessed with it i loved it played it for hours everyday, but then the sims 2 came out and i woluld never play sims 1 again!!
GAME INFORMATION ---
The game was released March 23rd 2001 by EA games, and they class it as a virtual life game.
AIM OF THE GAME ---
Well The sims doesnt actually have an aim to it... its a game that never ends, you can never actually complete the game there is no challenges no tasks nothing.
GAME PLAY ---
To sart off with once you have installed the game, you have the option to create a family or to use a family that is already there (personally i would create one) when you have selected the create a family menu, you then write the surname of your new family and create there identity .. hairstyle... and clothes. And then obvisouly create there first names.
You can have adults or children and neither of them every age (unlike sims2)
Once you have done this you can move into a ready made home or again create your own, i prefer to create my own as you can choose the size and layout of every room.. you then decorate the house (wallpaper and carpet) and then you also add your furniture into you rooms.. but you do have a set budget.
Then basically you live your sims life.. they can find jobs which then earn money (simoleons) make sure you take care of the sims needs which is shown on there little bars... eg.. hygeiene, hunger and social skills.
And thats basically it!!
